"Maybe we should take a rest. Bob sure needs one." Meyer said. I nodded and watched him pick up his Pokémon, and get out an energy root. He seemed to be debating weather or not to use the root, but ended up putting it away, saving it for later could be a smart plan. I looked around, during the battle the dusk had fallen, leaving us bathed in twilight. I liked the twilight; being right between the light of day and the dark of night was always a cool thing for me. Some of the Pokemon’s action would be changing too, since some would act different in night then in day. I sat down as well, being tried of standing up, and looked at the tree that the Pokémon had been fighting on; it was a nice tree that now had a few more scratches then it did before and it really could have come out worse, with a fire type fighting on it and all.

A few minutes passed, and something rustled in the bushes. A large tree like Pokemon emerged. It looked like a palm tree, its body was brown with two legs that had to claws on them three yellow heads, each with a different expression and many long green leafs that would be easy to get lost in. It was an Exeggutor, a grass and psychic type that was somewhat rare to find in the park. It was looking the other way, and was not aware of the two of us quite yet. I turned to Meyer.

“That would be an Exeggutor,” I explained, “It has not noticed us yet so we may be able to sneak by. It is kinda strong and you would need something other then a park ball to catch it, so I suggest we avoid it if we can.”

Meyer saw Jojo looking at the tree that the battle was fought upon. It was in great condition for a tree that was in that kind of fight. Bob had been burning stuff since Meyer didn't even own him. As an escaped Cyndaquil, he almost took down half of his hometown, the lab included. That was when he was going to get caught by the professor; to keep him out of trouble. Meyer beat the man to it. Anyways, back to the present, a bush started rustling. An Exeggutor was revealed. It appeared to be not looking towards the two. “That would be an Exeggutor. It has not noticed us yet so we may be able to sneak by. It is kinda strong and you would need something other then a Park Ball to catch it, so I suggest we avoid it if we can.” Jojo explained. "I agree," Meyer replied. He tried to silently get up and back away, hoping nothing was behind him.

"I agree," Meyer replied as he backed away from the living tree. He kept on going back until it hit a large rock that was emerging from the ground. The collision made a thud and the Grass type looked over at the two of us. I held my breath, was it going to attack? Luckily for us the tree Pokemon decided to continue on its merry way and left us alone.

“Lets keep on going,” I said as I turned to face the path that we were fallowing. We walked for a few minutes and the twilight continued on. We walked pasted groves of trees, patches of bushes and patches of flowers. We arrived at field full to the brim of lovely wildflowers. They were all kinds of different types and colors, ranging from violent to red. Among the flowers there was a green bulb. I looked at the bulb and knelled down. The bulb was attacked to a blue lizard that smelled the flowers.

“That’s a Bulbasaur,” I explained, “You wanna try and catch it?

And Meyer hit a rock. And his back hurt. And Bob almost woke up. "Gaah!" Meyer yelled. The Exeggutor turned around, but didn't see any interest in them. As they were walking down the path, in twilight, So beautiful, Meyer thought, Like the sky is a Cyndaquil, and it's flaring up it's back beyond the horizon. Beautiful...[/I and Jojo noticed something in a field of flowers, and knelt down. Meyer followed. He saw a bright green bulb in the middle of the field. "That's a Bulbasaur," Jojo explained. "You wanna try and catch it?" That would be pretty hard. The stubby legs would mean it has half the speed than what Bob has, but the thickness of its skin would surely decrease the damage taken by Bob's Fire-type attacks, and his non-contact moves in general. Maybe even all attacks. And, for another point, it has the attacks Sleep Powder and Poison Powder, which would render Bob unable to fight. It might be good to catch later on, but right now, I have nothing to substitute Bob out for. Speed and type matchups were my plan coming in here, but I was wrong. There are things with twice the speed as Bob, and I got nuthin' to fight 'em with, as well as having evolved once or twice! Stop rambling in your mind, Meyer... "I think we'll pass for now." he replied.

"I think we'll pass for now." Meyer said as he eyed the Bulbasaur. I nodded and started to walk around the grass and poison type. The path to the next area had some flowers on it as we walked down the path the Bulbasaur ran over and in font of us. It must have thought that we may step on or harm a flower. Said Bulbasaur must have been the protector of this field of flowers since it was not going to leave the two of us alone while we were in it. It was not uncommon for Pokemon to start to think of a certain area as theirs, even more so if the area was as pretty as this one. It looked like we would not be able to pass with out a fight.

“If we want to get by here, you’re going to have to fight Bulbasaur.” I explained, “You can still try to catch it, if you want. I can also toss a Pokedoll at it, but that costs five hundred Pokedollars.” I wasn’t even sure if a Pokedoll would work on this Pokemon since it seemed pretty dedicated to protecting the area. They had never failed me before, and I was pretty sure that they would not fail me now.

OOC: @Meow Wow; So sorry 'bout that, forgot to say that I was leaving for a whole 8 days.

This Bulbasaur was worried about the flowers, apparently, and got in their way as Meyer and Jojo tried walking on. “If we want to get by here, you’re going to have to fight Bulbasaur," Jojo explained. “You can still try to catch it, if you want. I can also toss a Pokedoll at it, but that costs five hundred Pokedollars.”

"Like I got money," Meyer muttered, laying Bob down on the ground. "Up!" Bob woke up, looking side to side, then ahead, seeing Bulbasaur. "Quiiil..." he growled weakly. "Oh, right," Meyer took out the Energy Root. "I wasn't expecting a stronger Pokémon like this so soon," he mentioned, tossing the root to Bob. Bob grabbed it in his mouth, chewing it. The flame on his back was alighted, and got brighter and brighter. Bob soon spat out the remains of the root. "Alright, start this off with a Fla- no, a Smokescreen!" Meyer commanded. Bob looked confused that he wasn't attacking right off the bat, but he went with the program, blasting smoke form his mouth as he would do with flames in a Flamethrower.

I watched as Meyer took out a root and feed it too his Pokemon, an energy root would restore all of a Pokémon’s energy. Using it right before a battle was a good choice. I watched as the fire type jumped out of the arms of his trainer and the fires on the back of the Pokemon flared up, it looked like the Pokemon was all set and ready to go!

"Alright, start this off with a Fla- no, a Smokescreen!” Meyer commanded. After hearing that Cyndaquil turned over to face the grass and poison type, he seemed surprised to be not going on the offensive right away but obeyed anyway. A black stream of smoke came out of the fire type’s mount and hit the Grass type right in the face. The Bulbasaur who had extended some vines to hit the fire type was blinded and started running around its vines moving around wildly, Many times the vines missed hitting the Cyndaquil but one or tow meat their mark. Soon the Bulbasaur stopped moving and started blinking a lot trying to get the smoke out of its eyes. Cyndaquil Waited for his next order.

The Bulbasaur had stopped moving to blink the smoke out, and was no longer focusing on Bob. "Now's our chance! Flame Charge!" Meyer called out to Bob. The Cyndaquil started dashing like it was a Quick Attack, but soon streaks of fire wrapped around the Fire Mouse, speeding it up as it sped across the dirt towards the Seed Pokémon. As Bob got closer to Bulbasaur, Meyer was thinking about his next move, trying to remember how good the defenses of a Bulbasaur were. He couldn't remember if it had better protection against physical or non-contact moves. He would find out soon after that because, knowing that Bob would definitely take damage immediately after the hit, even if it misses, no matter what, hoping that it wasn't too much damage Bob took, he would try a Flamethrower. Or an Eruption...

"Now's our chance! Flame Charge!" Meyer Told his small fire mouse. The small fire type went running over towards The Grass and Poison type. As he ran the fire on his back flared up and burned even hotter then before. A red aura started to embrace the mouse and soon that red aura turned to red-hot flames. The Pokemon was going faster and faster until it was just a blur. The Bulbasaur was still blinking smoke out of its eyes and was not paying attention to the Cyndaquil. The Fire type collided with the Grass type hitting it head on. The Bulbasaur stumbled back a few feet but soon steadied its self.

Now that the Grass types eyes were clearer it glared at the fire type. It shook the bulb on its back and a dozen razor shape leaves came out. They flouted down and hovered right at Bulbasaur’s eye level. Almost as if Bulbasaur had given a silent order the leafs went flying towards Cyndaquil Since he was still regaining his bearing after moving so fast all of the leafs hit, finding their mark.

NBP #1

Aleria spent much of her day in the office. She was eager to get outside on a run though. Every once in a while, she'd peer out the window and look outside. Oh, how she longed to go out.

But no. She had to stay inside in case a trainer came up and wanted to go on a run. She was basically on standby.

The requests came flowing into the office in the afternoon. Aleria had just returned from lunch when she heard about all the requests that had come in. Eager to take one on, she grabbed the first thing she saw and headed back to her office. She dropped the paperwork on her desk and pulled up the information on her computer. A new trainer by the name of Soarer was coming into the park today.

And he had a Latias.

This would be exciting. Aleria had only seen Latias, and her brother Latios, in pictures before. She'd never seen one in person. There was a first time for everything though, and hopefully today would be the day she saw a Latias in person. If not... well, hopefully she'd get the opportunity to take Soarer on a run again.

She transferred the information to her new phone, an upgrade from the older PDA she carried around when she first took on a ranger position. It was a much needed upgrade and one she took advantage of since it was on sale and she had the extra money. Heading out to the gate, she reviewed what the trainer's second Pokemon was, a Crustle. Both Pokemon had some extra moves on them, which would help them out in the park. Aleria trusted that Soarer would be fine. A legendary wouldn't stand a chance against many Pokemon in the park.

Arriving at the gate, Aleria took a seat on the bench. She had to wait for her trainer now, and hopefully he'd arrive soon.

Once she saw the guy, her memory clicked. Now she remembered this guy. She knew his name stuck out. Aleria took him into the Botanical Gardens for his first run. All they ran into was a Cherubi, and Soarer didn't want that. It was after that that they disbanded.

So why was he back? Did he not have high hopes for his initial run, leave, and then come back in with new Pokemon? She vaguely remembered him having two Water types, though which ones specifically escaped her. This time around, he had the Latias and the Crustle though. He'd have much better luck. Maybe they'd even make it beyond one encounter.

"Hey," she said. "Long time no see indeed. How have you been?"

As she spoke, Aleria opened the gate and led him into the park, closing the gate behind them once they were both inside. She led him along the same path they had first gone down. "Anything in particular you're here for? Anywhere you want to go back to from last time you were here?"

Other than a Shroomish, Soarer had nothing in particular that he wanted to see. He was just trying to show the Latias he had with him around. Aleria nodded. This was the first time she'd really noticed the legendary that followed behind Soarer. She certainly was a beautiful Pokemon.

"Alright, I can arrange that. We'll just see what we run into along the way then," Aleria replied.

The last place they had visited was the fountain that his Pokemon had played in, so she led them there first. She took her time so that Latias could take in everything. It wasn't very often that legendaries were taken into the park, and who knew when this Latias would get to come back, if at all? This was one of those once in a life time opportunities, and she wasn't going to be the one to ruin it for Latias.

The fountain was running as it usually did today, though there were no Pokemon in sight. They were probably off playing in other areas of the gardens at the moment. "This was the last place we visited when you were here last," Aleria said. "You wanna tell Latias about it?" She figured it'd be better to allow Soarer to explain that than her explaining it.

Of course, if he didn't want to talk about it, they could just keep walking. There were some other interesting places in this garden, and they had a large area to explore and Pokemon to find.

"It's alright," Aleria said to the running off from last time. "It happens. Sometimes you just gotta remind people of the rules." She had a bit of a laugh at that. "Besides, someone running off on their own is a lot better than a disrespectful trainer."

A helluva lot better. Definitely a helluva lot better. Thinking about the disrespectful trainers she'd brought through this park made her want to shudder... and have some hard drinks, but she couldn't have those yet. Not legally anyways.

But while she didn't shudder, she did jump when Latias' voice echoed in her head. "I love the trip so far. The park is beautiful, but where are the other Pokemon?" Latias had asked.

"Sorry, sorry," Aleria said quickly. "I'm not used to being able to hear a Pokemon's voice in my head."

There was a small beach to their left, but Aleria figured they could come back to that later. They had time, and besides, there were other interesting places in the park that they could explore besides just the beach. The gardens were a vast place with so much to see... and probably not nearly enough time to do it. She led them down a different path to the north of the fountain. It was away from the small beach, but it was likely there would still be some interesting stuff in this area.

Aleria heard laughter from somewhere near her, and she paused for a moment to look around. They were surrounded by flowers and other beautiful plants, and none of them could really talk. What was that laughter then? It didn't sound like Soarer, and it didn't sound like Latias... admittedly, she'd only heard Latias' voice once, but this laughter didn't sound like that of a legendary Pokemon, especially not the one following behind Soarer.

Just as Aleria was about to start walking again, a flower stepped out in front of her and peered up to her. It looked sad. It was drooping, and it didn't seem like a very vibrant blue compared to the other flowers that were around. Aleria was surprised she hadn't noticed it sooner. The flower looked at Soarer and Latias and slowly approached them. It was timid, maybe? Aleria wasn't sure.

"I wonder if there's a bunch of Florges over there," Aleria mused aloud, looking to the direction this Florges had come from. "That would explain the laughing..."

"Flor..." the Pokemon replied sadly, nodding a bit.

"Yep. That explains it. There's a bunch of Florges over there," Aleria said. "They must've been teasing this one or something." This time, Aleria shrugged. "Do you want to try and catch it or something? Maybe cheer it up a bit?"

Soarer turned to his Latias when it came to getting doing something about the Florges that was upset about being teased by the other flowers. The ones that had done the teasing were still there looking over at Aleria, Soarer, Latias, and the upset Florges. The flower-like Pokemon had its gaze focused on Latias though, especially now that Soarer had brought the legend into play.

"Flor... ges?" the Pokemon said slowly as it approached the legendary. "Flor." It pointed a leaf at the flowers that were off to the side, watching the events unfold. "Flor, flor flor flor. Florges!"

Aleria shrugged. She had no idea what this Pokemon was saying, but she had a feeling it was about the other flowers that had been teasing her. "Do you want Latias to talk to those other flowers?"

"Flor!" the Pokemon replied.

"Sounds like a yes to me," Aleria said with a shrug. "Up to you and Latias what you want to do here."

Aleria watched as Latias levitated over to the Florges. The Dragon and Psychic type seemed to be speaking to the flowers, though Aleria couldn't make out what the legendary was saying. The flowers responded, though Aleria couldn't make out what they were saying either.

The Florges that had come over asking for help timidly went towards her friends. It stayed behind Latias when it was finally close enough to its fellow flowers, clearly intimidated by them. Understandably so, given that they had teased it so relentlessly. Aleria cautiously stepped towards the flowers, hoping to get an idea of what they were saying. There was a nearby tree she stood by, and she waved Soarer over so that he could listen in too.

"Florges, flor!" one of the flowers said, this one with orange petals.

"Flor!" another flower said.

"Sounds like the Florges that came to us for help has been teasing them too," Aleria said. "Seems like this is a case of our Florges dealing it but not being able to take it when it's dealt back."
