    Ataro's Snorlax grabbed my gronola bar and shoved it in his mouth. "Man, that was rude too." I grumbled. "And I was going to give you one." I was just teasing him, I was still going to give him another one since I knew half of one was going to no where fill him up. Before I could though, Snorlax let out a powerful wind that blew Sceptile away. His kid could only watch as his parent failed to avenge him. The Treeko just stormed off.

    "Well, that was tense," Chain said. "But we should probably move-"
    He stopped mid-sentence. I looked over towards him and wondered what was wrong. He ran forward, I wasn't sure where he was going.

    "You guys have about twenty seconds to get ready for a battle," Chain said. Then I heard it too, it was the sound of a Bouffalant, and it sounded pretty loud and angry for some reason, or perhaps I was just hearing things.

    "Well Ataro, looks like your luck isn't so bad." I grinned, I was happy he was finally going to encounter the Pokemon he had come here for. Since Bouffalant was now here, I raised the volume on my voice disk, it wouldn't hurt for me to be the louder voice disk now since, to my knowledge, Ataro didn't have any more on him. I raise the Durant voice disk to full blast now. I moved back and waited to see what Pokemon was going to arrive and if Ataro was going to need my help in capturing it. I remembered the past two battles we were just in were double battles, and Ataro had my back in both of those, now it was my turn to return the favor.

    He blasted the tornado of wind towards the Sceptile, whom stood on the ground defiantly - it clearly underestimated Snorlax's power. However, its stubbornness was going to cause it some bit of a pain. As Snorlax's head snapped forward to perform that Whirlwind - I had to hold on even tighter as well, so I quickly folded my legs over Snorlax's. The Whirlwind picked up the Grass-type Pokemon easily and sent it flying through the canopy. The Treecko stared at us begrudgingly, before turning around quickly and running towards the direction where Sceptile flew towards.

    "Well, that was tense," Chain said. "But we should probably move-"

    Something had interrupted him. We kept silent to listen for the noise that was echoing out from the thick canopies. It sounded like the cry of a bull ... something similar to my voice disk. Could it be a - Chain had suddenly took off. Cameron and I quickly ran forward, following tightly behind him. We had turned a corner and I realized that there was an exit on one side of the forest. I wasn't quite sure where we were, since I wasn't particularly familiar with the routes of the Botanic Gardens, even though I came here every single time. Quite contradictory.

    Chain had put his hands over his eyes, shading them from the glaring light from the sun. "You guys have about twenty seconds to get ready for a battle," Chain said abruptly.

    "Well Ataro, looks like your luck isn't so bad," Cameron grinned. He seemed to be happy for me.

    From his actions, I could tell that he was definitely sure that the next encounter would be a Bouffalant, but I didn't want to believe it just yet. Even though the cry sounded similar, there are so many different possibilities of why that might be possible, and I didn't want to disappoint myself if it wasn't a Bouffalant. Still, I just had to wait and see. Regardless of what it was, I had to have a Pokemon to battle it, just in case. Even if it was not a Bouffalant, I still had another disc to try with - I had brought two Bouffalant voice disks, since I really wanted to capture one before the end of this expedition.

    At the same time, I had noticed that Cameron was raising his Durant voice disk to full blast now. The cry of that Durant was quite deafening, and I almost felt like telling Cameron to turn it down. After all, I don't think turning up or down the volume would affect anything.

    "Oh shit! I forgot to snap Sceptile's photo!" I exclaimed suddenly. It sure was annoying to forget something like that.

    I tried to focus on what I had to do now again, and thought about who I would use to battle. My initial thought was to use Lickilicky, because she had an enormous arsenal of diverse moves, and would definitely be able to stand up to whichever Pokemon appears. However, she was hurt from the previous battle, and I had a weird habit not to use Pokemon that aren't at full health. I figured I would use Snorlax, since it was the strongest Pokemon that I had in this team of six now.

    "Okay Snorlax, let me down. You will fight this next Pokemon!" I said.

    I could almost see him grin - he was definitely happy that he get to fight for me - and quickly raised his arm to act as a temporary ladder for me to get back on ground level. I slid down using his arms and stood properly.

    I stepped back as the dustcloud grew bigger. As I did so, I noticed that Cameron was turning up his Pokeplayer, and Ataro shot his partner a look before plugging his ears up with his fingers. Cameron was probably maxing out the volume meter - if he wasn't careful, he'd overload the device and it would break. Thankfully my earpieces intercepted and discarded the Durant calls, so I wouldn't have to worry about them distracting me while I kept an eye on everything.

    The approaching Pokemon appeared over a slight hill, and I saw that I had been right. The approaching Pokemon was built low and sturdy to the ground, much like Tauros but a bit more muscly. It hide was brown, except for the big black afro of hair that grew backwards from and around its head. It had two large horns that stuck out horizontally from the scruffy black mane, and for some reason each horn had two golden rings on it. We hadn't yet discovered whether they were just discolourations, or actual separable objects - we weren't able to get close enough without being gored.

    A couple of seconds later, I noticed another Pokemon following the Bouffalant. I hadn't seen it originally because it blended in with the swaying green grass of the plains. It was a Meganium, the evolution of Chikorita, a Pokemon I have long had a soft spot for. Chikorita were one of the Grass starters available, but unfortunately they were usually overshadowed by the other Grass starters, Sceptile and Serperior in particular. I had long since been meaning to train a Meganium, for the simple reason that I wanted to prove it could hold its weight in the arena with the big boys.

    "Oh shit! I forgot to snap Sceptile's photo!" Ataro said frustratedly. He quickly moved on, though - probably because he was excited about getting the chance to battle the Pokemon he wanted. "Okay Snorlax, let me down. You will fight this next Pokemon," he said to the enormous beast he was riding on.

    Snorlax grinned and slanted his arms, allowing Ataro to slide down easily. Cameron hadn't yet chosen a Pokemon, but I knew this was probably just because he hadn't yet seen the Meganium. I was pretty sure about what his choice would be though.

    Finally, the Bouffalant shuddered to a halt opposite us. It roared a challenge, irate that someone would trick it using a sound-box. It tossed its horns and stamped its feet, preparing to battle. As it did so, the Meganium caught up, smiling happily and panting slightly. It seemed to have chased after the Bouffalant for no reason other than it wanted to. The Grass-type made a happy-sounding cascade of trills, greeting us enthusiastically. I hated to see such an easygoing Pokemon going up against Cameron and Ataro - there was no doubt in my mind that it was going to get smacked down, and hard.

    The Shiftry was spinning through the air, approaching at a high speed; it seemed to be preparing for some sort of physical attack. I figured it would go for an attack that was strong against Teddson, and the types I was aware of Shiftry having off the top of my head for physical strikes that were super-effective... the only ones that came up were the flying-type Aerial Ace, in which the spinning would be of excellent use to catch its opponent off guard and deal a certain blow, or an X-Scissor, in which case it would be going for multiple whirlwind-like strikes as opposed to the cross-cutting blows. Of course, there were other, more general moves it could be moving in to use; a spinning Giga-Impact was almost unheard of, but Shiftry catching its opponents off-guard by resembling another attack would be on-par for its apparent intelligence, and it even had a more powerful attack in Explosion, though I had serious doubts that Shiftry would ever resort to that until it had decent backup to make sure it got healed once it was finished attacking.

    Regardless of what it was doing, I knew first that Teddson and I had to stop the spinning. As my Ludicolo stood up in the clearing, brushing the residual dark energy from Dark Pulse off of his leafy hide, I understood he was ready for more. He was injured though; I couldn’t have him stay in for too much longer without getting some support in. Since Shiftry’s family didn’t learn Pursuit, I didn’t need to worry about it realizing when I was switching and trying to get some final damage in, so I knew I could get one quick, ranged attack in before having to get Teddson out of there. And for the attack, I wanted my next choice of Pokémon to be able to use it well…

    “Teddson, fire a quick Wide-Angle Ice Beam from the ground in front of you to Shiftry’s feet!” The attack could do many things; immobilize Shiftry, trip it up, make it spin out of control… it could also possibly make a path directly to my next Pokémon, but both Sela and Missy were healthy and able to take at least one blow, even with its improved strength.

    Bright blue icy bolts immediately shot from Teddson’s thick, leaf-like hands struck the ground at his feet, forming a wide bar of ice on the ground. The bolts pushed towards the far end of the bar, extending it into a pathway of sorts, and narrowed as it went further up, quickly coming up to its spinning, floating tree target. With the quick, albeit shoddy, ice path finished, not even seeing if Shiftry was encased, I quickly brought out Teddson’s Pokéball to recall him.

    “Alright, Tedd, rest up a bit. You did a great job.” I hadn’t had to switch out a Pokémon when battling a wild Pokémon before; I had to make sure I got my next Pokémon out quickly, much more so than in competitive battles where a small amount of time is allotted for strategy.

    “Sela, we got this, let’s go!” I hadn’t even touched my Gardevoir’s Pokéball before she shot out in a bright burst of light at the base of the ice bridge. The orb of light quickly conformed to the shape of a thin ballroom dancer, and Sela’s green coloring quickly filled out her head and arms. She seemed more than aware of what was going on, effectively watching from the sidelines through her own mental connections with me. She saw the rain drenching the battlefield, the platform of ice now at her feet, the spinning blur of brown, green, and white that she identified as her opponent..

    I had to get the battle going; if I couldn’t start on the offensive now and stay that way, the battle would last forever, making it more likely my Pokémon could get hurt. I wasn’t about to stand and let that happen (and I fully considered my chances of escape; my best ideas were to distract it with a photograph that we’d need for record keeping anyways or to get some sort of escape item from Buzz, though I wanted to put my resources into attempting a capture before attempting an escape),and I knew that, barring ending the battle prematurely by escaping, the best way to keep the battle shot would be an offensive push that didn’t stop until the Super Ball clicked shut. I had to get Sela attacking, and the quickest way, in addition to the safest way, was to send mental commands to her; I wasn’t exactly sure of the power of a Gardevoir’s “Telepathy”, as I knew they could read emotions better than minds, but Sela responded to most of my thoughts to her as though I spoke them to her, all without needing vocalization. It was a useful ability, as thoughts are typically quicker than the words that follow them, and only Sela receives and understands the message, barring the few true psychic trainers in the world and the Pokémon with their traits.

    Sela, use your Psychic to shatter the ice bridge into spikes and manipulate them into a small blizzard to ensnare the Shiftry. If it breaks out, get a Reflect up immediately.

    Sela was intelligent, and I had no doubt she understood what I wanted her to do. Still, I couldn’t help but conjure up a mental image of what I was ordering while I was giving my commands, and it was likely she got that too. It… didn’t hurt, I suppose, though I couldn’t help but wonder if it actually helped her at all.

    Snorlax was ready to fight, but I had noticed that Cameron hasn't send a Pokemon yet. He was probably letting me take the lead, so I figure I should just start with a move first then. I started to think about the moves and strategies that I could use. Snorlax's nature was Impish, so he would prefer to deal mostly non-damaging moves, but is also experienced at performing complex combos and tricky moves. He likes to make his opponent feel embarrassed and uncomfortable, so my strategies would probably have to revolve around these factor.

    I decided to start out with the most safe command. This move would be able to put both of the opponents off-balance, and it isn't too hard for Snorlax to perform. Striking the opponents with a Whirlwind would be able to deal damage and intimidate them, but the effects of that could actually be magnified - especially so if it is a vortex of intense flame.

    "Snorlax, let's shake both of them up with a gigantic Whirlwind, and shoot a Fire Blast into the heart of the twister after that."

    My only concern about these moves would be if they would be able to make contact. Snorlax could easily whip up a wind of twister from his mouth and send it swirling around the field to swallow up the Bouffalant and Meganium, but the targets might have a chance to dodge somehow still. If both of them had managed to get swallowed up by the Whirlwind, the strategy would then work smoothly, since Fire Blast would turn the swirling wind of twister into a flaming tornado. This would in turn magnify and add on to the damage output of Whirlwind, combining the damage combo from both Whirlwind and Fire Blast. The continuous swirling would heat up the flames even more, increasing the intensity and heat of the flames.

    Like I had suspected, Ataro sent in his Snorlax to battle the wild Bouffalant. I wanted to use my Snorlax to go along with his, but mine being female would probably distract his, and he didn't need any of that right now. Though I would probably release it soon just to see what happens.

    "Alright, come on in Cybershock, use Trick Room." I called out. It made sense to use it since both Bouffalant and Meganium were faster than Snorlax. It would enable him to move much faster. "Then, use Barrier, but if you see Meganium go after Snorlax, forget about Barrier and stop it in its tracks with Ice Beam."

    Cybershock nodded and began glowing a dark red color as he began distorting the area with Trick Room. All it was was a large inboxed area that was visable at first, but then couldn't be seen by the human eye. Then his body would turn brown as his defense rose, either that or he'd freeze the air in front of him to create an Ice Beam.

    OOC: I hope you won't leave when this finishes, Ataro, cos you have some cool stuff coming up. Also, mon genders?

    ~~~~~
    "Snorlax, let's shake both of them up with a gigantic Whirlwind, and shoot a Fire Blast into the heart of the twister after that," Ataro commanded.
    "Alright, come on in Cybershock, use Trick Room Then, use Barrier, but if you see Meganium go after Snorlax, forget about Barrier and stop it in its tracks with Ice Beam," Cameron called out.
    I twisted my head to the side and saw Cameron's Porygon-Z floating in the air next to him. It moved forward, and began to concentrate by closing its eyes. It became perfectly still, except for the jerks and spasms that were the trademark of its species.
    Snorlax had taken a deep breath, and his stomach had extended just like last time. When he released the Whirlwind, air gushed out of his mouth, curling around itself, turning into a tornado that blew towards both the Bouffalant and the Meganium. However, the Meganium was quick to respond - six little vines lashed down into the ground from behind its flower, securing it to the earth. The twister passed by it, trying its hardest to suck it up, but the Meganium could not be budged. The Bouffalant, however, could - the tornado picked it up and began swirling it around in the air. The bull Pokemon lowed angrily and thrashed its feet through the air.
    Cybershock had finally finished preparing his Trick Room, and he unleashed it. Tiny crooked purple lines zigzagged through the air in multiple directions, encompassing the entire battlefield. They then suddenly wrenched themselves straight, crumpling and distorting reality with them. This confused the Bouffalant even more, as he now had no idea which way he was looking or what was even happening to him.
    Luckily, Ataro's Snorlax was smart. He took a couple of second to figure out where to shoot the fireball, and then clapped his hands together. A couple of seconds after clapping, he reared back then forward, and a large fireball in the shape of a thin five-pointed star shot off to his left. The attack blinked around all over the place as the distorted reality of Trick Room took it all over the place, but Snorlax had calculated right. The fireball suddenly appeared right next to the tornado and was whisked inside it, setting it alight.
    The Bouffalant roared, and the Meganium did the same, trying to imitate its battle partner. The Whirlwind soon died down, and the Bouffalant was able to land on its feet. It saw that the Snorlax had been the one to hurt it, so it set its horns and began galloping towards the large Pokemon. However, the Trick Room meant that it glitched all over the place, and it randomly bashed into Cybershock instead of the Snorlax, knocking the cybernetic Pokemon to the ground. The intelligent Pokemon took the opportunity to shore up its defenses using barrier, like Cameron had instructed. A protective brown energy field coated it from the bottom up, hopefully reinforcing its physical defenses. The atttack from the Bouffalant looked like it had done a fair bit of damage.
    I noticed that the sun was getting hotter. I grumbled quietly - I hate the heat - and I looked up into the sky. There were slight red tinges around the couple of clouds, and with a jolt I realised why it had suddenly gotten so hot. The Meganium hadn't roared for the fun of it, it had set up a Sunny Day! That was a dangerous move, seeing as Snorlax had access to fire moves, but it also activated a lot of Meganium's special abilities, like Synthesis and Solarbeam. This would truly be an interesting battle.
    I looked over at Ataro who was concentrated on his battle with Bouffalant. I decided I’d get rid of Meganium for him so he would only have to worry about the Bouffalant. I pulled out a camera and snapped a photo of the plant beast, Meganium and recalled Cybershock. The Trick Room was still in effect, so since Snorlax was the slowest on the field, it would now be considered the fastest while it was up, giving him a great advantage.
    “See you at home babe!” I called out to Ataro, though I doubted he heard me. I tossed a granola bar to his Snorlax. “Don’t worry,” I whispered to Chainy, “I know my way around here.” I said, beginning to walk off. I pressed the play button on my voice disk, hoping it would work again. I knew there had to a Durant colony near here. I just had to look for the clues.
    "Alright, come on in Cybershock, use Trick Room. Then, use Barrier, but if you see Meganium go after Snorlax, forget about Barrier and stop it in its tracks with Ice Beam," Cameron called out.
    I knew that Cameron had adjusted his battling strategy to suit Snorlax's. Although Snorlax had a good amount of bulk and was quite strong physically, his Achilles heel was his speed. It often allowed his opponents to take advantage of it and it became a weakness that was quite hard to overcome. In this case, Trick Room became a huge advantage for Snorlax since it twists the dimension for a limited amount of time, such that the slower the Pokemon, the faster it gets to move first.
    The Porygon-Z had levitated above ground, and started to move forward while closing its eyes in deep concentration. At the same time, Snorlax had took in a deep breath and gushed out a curled wind that exploded into a tornado. It spiraled across the battle field and aimed for both the Bouffalant and Meganium, but just as I had suspected, the Meganium quickly did a counterattack. It had struck six little vines to the ground to secure itself to the ground - just like how a tree would plant itself to the ground using its roots. The Whirlwind struck them face on, and swallowed Bouffalant to spiral it within the curling tornado. Meganium on the other hand, remained stuck to the ground firmly.
    The Bouffalant was obviously confused amidst the Whirlwind, but still continued roaring around in angry squeals and bull cries. As the tiny purple lines zigzagged through the air in multiple directions to distort the dimensions, it seemed to have confused Bouffalant even more. Snorlax took a while more to release his attack - probably calculating the perfect timing and angle to shoot his Fire Blast at. After a couple of seconds, he clapped his hands and reared back and forth, shooting a large fireball in the shape of a Chinese character to his left. The Fire Blast flickered across the battle field, but suddenly reappeared right next to the tornado, and whisked itself within the tornado.
    Both the Bouffalant and Meganium had tried to roar at us to try and intimidate our Pokemon, but it didn't seem to do much. It was like a useless Leer. Soon, the Whirlwind died down and Bouffalant managed to get back to ground level. It knew that Snorlax was the one that had dealt the damage and lowering its head to point its horn at Snorlax, then galloping towards him. The twisted dimensions seemed to have work against us this time instead, for Bouffalant had smashed into Porygon-Z instead of Snorlax. With Snorlax's bulk, Snorlax would have been a better advantage for us if he had took the damage instead. Regardless, Cameron had instructed his Porygon-Z well and it had quickly used Barrier, reducing the amount of damage taken.
    It was also starting to get considerably warmer. I had noticed that Chain wasn't looking too comfortable, but he seemed to have kept his focus on Meganium all the time. I looked over to the Grass-type Pokemon whom was smiling deviously, as if it was responsible for that sudden increase in temperature. Suddenly, a thought struck me. Meganium must have used Sunny Day! Though, I wasn't quite sure if it was the smartest move to use. Being a Grass-type, a sunny weather could hurt it as much as it could help it. Even though moves like Synthesis and Solarbeam received boosts under sunny weather, Fire-type moves would hurt much more as well.
    Just as I was thinking about my next move, I realized that Cameron had threw a Pokedoll across the field. He had also recalled his Porygon-Z at the same time. "See you at home babe!" He called out, though I could only hear the faint cry of his voice. He tossed another granola bar over to Snorlax, before going towards Chain and whispering something in his ears. He walked off while taking his Pokeplayer back out - to which I started to wonder if he was leaving or going out on his own. I didn't mind though. I was starting to get sick of the country and felt like I needed a holiday, but that also made my movements around the Park slower. I wouldn't want to slow down Cameron on his aim of capturing every single Pokemon anyway.
    "Okay Snorlax, let's make use of the sun. Use Rock Smash on the boulder ahead of you and strike all of them towards Bouffalant with your Fire Punch! Let's pummel it down with scorching hot coals!"
    Snorlax nodded and quickly smashed a boulder near him easily with his right fist. The rocks shattered into medium pieces of rock fragments and hovered in front of Snorlax, as if they were levitating. He prepared to punch each of them towards Bouffalant with his Fire Punch, while starting to charge up the fire energy within his fist. At the same time, his fist were starting to glow in a crimson red, faster and more intense than usual; as an effect of the hot sun.
    OOC: Bouffalant gender?
    ~~~~~

    “See you at home babe!” Cameron called out as he threw another energy bar to Ataro's Snorlax. The big beast caught the piece of food easily and shoved it quickly into his mouth. He then turned to me and offered me a big smile. “Don’t worry,” he whispered to me, “I know my way around here.”

    He snapped a quick picture of the Meganium, and I watched him wander off holding his Pokeplayer in his hand, no doubt looking for a Durant nest. Cameron was very single-minded when it came to capturing Pokemon - I was surprised that he'd managed to deviate enough from his path to capture the Tropius earlier. I would be more than happy to let Cameron wander around the Botanical Gardens by himself, but Ranger regulations said he wasn't allowed to. No big problem, though - this wasn't the first team run Cameron had split off from, and I'd just use the same solution as last time.

    Hey Dual, Cameron is wandering off on his own again, I need you to cover him, I said through our link.

    <Figures, he WOULD when I'm just starting to get somewhere,> Dual replied with a sigh. <Alright, I'm on my way to keep an eye on him.>

    Cheers man, I'll catch you later, I sent before returning my attention to the battle.

    I saw that the Meganium hadn't taken kindly to having its picture taken. It huffed and withdrew the vines from the ground before turning around and stomping away. Unlike the Bouffalant, it didn't have any problems navigating the Trick Room. I was sad to see it go, but then again I was glad that it wasn't going to be beaten up.

    The Bouffalant didn't seem to care that its partner was abandoning it. It tossed its horns through the air, shaking its afro as well. Blue energy swirled around the large white horns and down its body, settling close to its skin and eventually being absorbed into its body. It roared a challenge, and began charging at Snorlax. Now that Cybershock had gone with Cameron, no one was maintaining the Trick Room, so it had started to fall apart and the Bouffalant was finding the distorted reality easier to navigate.

    "Okay Snorlax, let's make use of the sun. Use Rock Smash on the boulder ahead of you and strike all of them towards Bouffalant with your Fire Punch! Let's pummel it down with scorching hot coals!" Ataro called.

    Snorlax quickly punched the ground in front of him, and chips of dirt and stone flew up into the air. Snorlax moved faster than I ever would have guessed - he deftly punched all of the shards with a flaming fist, sending them flying towards the Bouffalant. They scattered through the air, creating a wall of fire and stone that crashed into the incoming Buffalo Pokemon. It grunted a bit as the attack weakened it, but it continued to charge. Its head smashed into Snorlax's belly, and Snorlax was knocked back a few steps. However, the rolly belly flung the Bouffalant into the air, and it landed with a crash on the ground. I winced - that would have hurt.

    OOC: So, I'm guessing it's like old times, just throw stuff at you.

    ~~~~~
    It figures, the human-friend-James would call me back as soon as partner-Gardevoir got comfortable. But I suppose its time to actually do work. I don't want to look like lazy-bum-Buzz in front of attractive-potential.
    The world around me resolves itself from the blue light of my Teleport. Mindbender-Gardevoir has returned herself to her safe-home-device, and I see that friend-focused-Cameron is wandering around the flowerbeds, poking around in them for something. If he's not careful, he'll anger something dangerous-powerful-irritating.
    Be careful, you never know what's hiding inside those, I cautioned him. We'd been in mental contact before, so re-establishing it was easy. I also got on well with fourlegs-worthy-Houndoom, his partner.
    I didn't have the ability to see into the future, but it might have seemed to Trainer-guest that I did, because as he poked around he woke up a Bulbasaur that was sleeping. The vindictive-bulb hissed at Trainer-Cameron, and puffed a cloud of spores at him. I quickly grabbed him and pulled him out of the way.
    Best if you calm down this angry one, lest it follow us and plot revenge, I said.
    OOC: Yup, just keep 'em coming ;]
    "Be careful, you never know what's hiding inside those, Dual warned me. I nodded. Unfortunetly, it was too late, I accidently woke up the Small Bulb Pokemon, Bulbasuar. It shot spores at me which would have hit if Dual hadn't pulled me away.
    "Best if you calm down this angry one, lest it follow us and plot revenge," He said. I nodded. I had to think of something quick, but I didn't want to have to battle it.
    "Mindbender, come on out." I said, tossing her Pokeball in front of me. I also brought out a doll and tossed it towards the Bulbasuar. "Mindbender, use Hypnosis to put it back to sleep, then we'll leave." I left my voice disk on, I knew once Mindbender's Hypnosis attack hit then I wouldn't have to worry about it waking up anytime soon.
    ~~~~~

    Friend-Cameron pulled Mindbender-home-sphere off of his belt and tossed it in front of him. She emerged from the flash of light and winked at me before looking down at the bristling-anger-Bulbasaur. Purple-circle-sleep rained down on it, and it yawned before curling its legs up under itself and going back to sleep inside the flowerbed.

    Cameron-compassion-battler pulled a PokeDoll out of his bag. It looked like a flight-ice/hurt-Pidgey, and he put it down leaning against the Bulbasaur's bulb. I tensed as I remembered fighting big-angry-Pidgeot. It rained attacks from the sky, and I did not have bolt-Thunder-range then to respond in kind. I had to lure it down before punching it on beak with muscle-strength.

    Attractive-winking-Gardevoir smiled at me and returned to home-ball. She plays hard to get. This is fine, I enjoy the chase. She will end up with me eventually, or so I hope.

    Let us move on, I said to Cameron, and he nods before walking on. We both walk down the path, but a small cream-and-brown fluffball runs in front of us. I can tell from Cameron's mindwaves that he has seen this scraggy-Zigzagoon before. Perhaps even on this run - I have not paid much attention to it, for obvious reasons.

    Is this your friend? I ask the Zigzagoon.

    It barks and nods. I glean from its simple mind that giving-Cameron presented it some food or something similar. I know not, but I step backwards, allowing rich-Trainer to give it PokeDoll as I know he will.

    I watched as the small Zigzagoon. I noticed it was the same Zigzagoon as before. I knelt down and gave him some more of the granola bar I had. I was running out, but I couldn't help but to give him some more. I patted his small head and gave him a small doll. I wasn't sure how many dolls I had left, but I knew I had enough to last me this trip. I always bought them in bundles since it made coming across what I wanted a whole lot easier since some Pokemon didn't want to leave you alone when you don't want to battle. I got up and turned towards Dual, signaling to him that I was ready to leave. With my Durant Voice disk still playing, I started walking away.

    I wasn't sure if I was headed in the right direction, but I hoped that one Durant would pop out of the ground and battle me. Or perhaps I should head underground to their colony. That may not be a smart idea since they would probably attack me in groups, but I was willing to take the risk to get that Durant. Though I was willing to take the risk, I wasn't willing to let me partners take that risk, so I put that thought out of my mind.

    I was right. Cameron-gifter-feeder had given this Zigzagoon some food earlier, after capturing the pointy-Ferroseed. He unwrapped an energy bar of some sort and bent down to the small brown-and-cream raccoon Pokemon, holding the bar out for it to take. It happily grabbed the piece of food and began to run away in the direction it had come from, its head pointing into the air, showing off its prize.

    Trainer-Gardevoir chuckled before beginning to walk off again. I could feel his desire to locate a Durant-large by entering a nest, but he knew that he couldn't endanger his friend-battlers by doing so. I knew Cameron-worthy-battler would feel this way, and I'm glad he came to the conclusion by himself for I would not have let him enter a nest had he found one. The steel-legs-Durant were usually vindictive beasts, and they liked to roast their prey before they ate it.

    We walked down the path, keeping an eye out for any silver gleams or multiple shuffling legs. I was about to suggest that we re-enter the forest plot - unlike James I didn't have any issues being surrounded by trees - when I heard a sudden bellowing. I turned around and saw a Tauros-plain/liver shaking its mane and horns at us, challenging us to a battle. I had read in searcher-Cameron's mind once before that he wished to capture a Tauros. The question is would be put aside his search for a Durant to capture this one?

    OOC: Gotta love bs posts. The bolded part is where I used my moves (WoW and Psychic)

    IC:

    I left the Zigzagoon after I gave him the granola bar. I didn’t have much else business with it. I was glad he left and didn’t stay for more or for a battle because I did not want to hurt the little guy, nor did I want to waste anymore time. I knew Durant had to be close, I could feel a battle coming on. I kept my eyes peeled, looking around carefully for any signs of one, but nothing. I stopped dead in my tracks when I heard a deep roar come from behind us. A large Tauros shook its mane and horns at us, challenging me for a battle.

    Tauros was certainly an interesting creature. It was known to get its thing on with Miltank, but it couldn’t reproduce and baby Tauros eggs with them. Tauros were all male, so I wondered how they reproduced. Did the males have the eggs? This was just like the Slowbro mystery. Pokémon were definitely strange creatures when it came to stuff like this. Stuff like that always interested me. Perhaps when I had a chance I would do some research on both Slowbro and Tauros to attempt to solve those mysteries. That would only be after I had some extra time from all this Pokémon collecting expeditions I go on.

    The Tauros made me think about Ataro. He was just recently here looking for one as well as a Bouffalant. I was glad he finally found both of them. I wondered how his battle with Bouffalant was going. I wanted to ask Dual to ask Chain what was happening, but I decided to wait on that. Ataro and I were good friends, so I was glad I came here with him. He just recently obtained Nacrene Gym, so that is why he was here searching for those two Pokemon. I wasn’t going to challenge him until he caught those two and his gym was finally ready. I wanted to battle him when he was fully prepared. A battle like that was certainly worth waiting for. I knew it would be both hard, but fun. He was going to be a challenge, but I knew most of his tactics. I hoped he’d use something new in our battle to keep it interesting.

    I stopped and stared at the beast. I really wanted to capture it, but I really wanted Durant. I wasn’t sure why, but Durant had really captured my attention. When I first saw it, I knew I had to get one. Durant and Heatmor were long time rivals. I really wanted Heatmor as well, but I already had a close friend working on getting me one, so I didn’t worry about it. If I didn’t capture this Pokémon, then I could continue searching for Durant. However, if I did capture, it then that would be my three Pokémon and I could come back in and find the Durant, plus other Pokémon. If I captured Durant now, then I definitely wouldn’t be coming back to the Gardens anytime soon. I sighed. It was a hard choice, but I decided that I would just capture it. If anything, it would make a great addition to my collection. I had been collecting Pokémon as far back as I could remember. I had a vast amount of Pokémon. I had over one hundred Pokémon and my Pokedex count was over three hundred and fifty. It was pretty high given the average Pokedex count isn’t anywhere near that. I was one of those crazy collectors who would go anywhere to find the Pokémon I wanted. I wasn’t reckless as most, I always put my Pokémon’s protection first.

    Now I had to decide who to use. Shadow wasn’t in the battling mood, so I didn’t want to put him in if he didn’t want to. I didn’t really want to use him against Tauros anyways. I wanted to use Lickitron, but he would only be focused on eating, and unlike the Tropius from earlier, this Tauros didn’t have any food on him that Lickitron could take. So having him focus on the battle was going to be difficult. Flamefeather was strong and fast, but if this Tauros knew any Rock type moves then I would be in some serious trouble. Landquake was a good match up against this Bull Pokemon since they were both the same types. It would be interesting to see how they’d battle against each other. However, I wasn’t here for an interesting battle, so it was either Cybershock or Mindbender. I pulled out a coin. Heads was going to be Mindbender and tails was Cybershock. I tossed the coin into the air and caught it. It was heads, so Mindbender was the one I was going to use in this battle. Wasn’t sure why, but something was telling me to use her.

    “Alright Mindbender, you’re up.” I said. She nodded and moved towards the Tauros, readying herself for battle. I pulled out my Pokedex and scanned the Tauros. I hoped she wouldn’t get distracted by Dual. I didn’t she would, but that possibility was there and if she did get distracted, she was definitely going to get hurt, which meant Dual was as well.

    Tauros - The Bull Pokemon. They range from four feet to six feet tall and weight around two hundred pounds. When it targets an enemy, it charges furiously while whipping its body with its long tails. It has a lot of stamina. Once running, it won't stop until it hits something. These violent Pokémon fight with other members of their herd in order to prove their strength. Tauros is not satisfied unless it is rampaging at all times. If there is no opponent for Tauros to battle, it will charge at thick trees and knock them down to calm itself.

    “Impressive.” I said out loud. “I could use a Pokémon like you in battle. Mindbender, be sure to watch its movements. As the Dex said, once they start charging, they won’t stop. Right now, we should try and keep it calm, which is rather odd. It doesn’t seem to angry now, so I hope it stays that way.” Then, I linked minds with her. “Okay, this is going to be a tough battle. If I’m right, I don’t think it will be using any non attacking moves. It will be using head on contact moves more than likely. So first things first, so that it won’t speed charge you, use Thunder Wave. Maybe if it charges at you, the paralysis can kick in and stop it.”

    “What if it doesn’t get paralyzed?” She asked, staring at the Tauros. She knew my strategy relied on slowing it down, and if that failed then she was going to get hurt. I didn’t want that to happen.

    “Hmm, I didn’t think of that. I don’t want you getting hit if it doesn’t hit. That is one strong looking bull. I suppose we’ll just have to raise your defenses if it doesn’t. Or better yet, use Will-o-Wisp instead. That way, if it does attack you, it won’t hurt as much. That should help more. Then afterwards we can paralyze it. After Will-o-Wisp, knock it down with a powerful Psychic attack. We’ll see what we’ll do afterwards after you do this. Never battled a Tauros before, so not sure what to expect other than it rage charging us.” Mindbender giggled and then put on her game face as she prepared to engage the Tauros.

    Mindbender raised both of her arms and created small balls of blue flames. She aimed her hands at Tauros and fired them at him. She used her psychic powers to guide the orbs towards the Tauros. Right after she fired the orbs, her body began giving off a blue aura as she attempted to connect her mind with Tauros’. When she did that, waves of Psychic energy would shoot out and launch at the Tauros. If their minds connected, she’d have short control of his body, if not then she would just knock it down with the waves of energy.

    I remembered back when I first received Mindbender, it was through a trade. The other Trainer didn’t really have a connection with her and had decided he was going to release her. When I saw her, I felt a connection, I knew that I wanted her on my team. I asked him if he would just give her to me since he was going to release her, but he decided to make a profit. He asked for my Miltank. I hadn’t used Miltank, and for some reason she wanted to go with him. I finally agreed to the trade and received Mindbender.

    The very next day, I used her in battle and we easily wiped the floor with our opponent. I was not surprised at all, I knew that connection we had was strong. Since then, no matter where she was, our minds were always connected. It was similar to my bond with Shadow. He and I went way back. I could always tell what he was feeling, even when he lied about it. Mindbender’s bond was just as strong as that bond. It was no surprise that I won nearly all of my battles that I used either of them in. Of course I had great bonds with all my Pokémon, but with a select few it was just a bit greater.

    My last trip here was sure a ‘memorable’ one. We went to Meteor Valley in search of Zorua and other Pokémon, but one of the Pokémon their decided to kidnap Mindbender. She wouldn’t have been kidnapped if it hadn’t taken her by surprise. Golett trapped her in a dark energy ball where she couldn’t move or communicate with me. I was a wreck, but I pulled through and managed to save her, and the Golett. Now, the Golett is more tamed than it was before, and a bit more friendly. The device that was on its body was causing it to act out. The device still had its effect on him, but it was slowly wearing off.

    Despite how horrible that little experience was, it only made our bond stronger. Every battle that we battled together just made us stronger, good or bad. If Will-o-Wisp worked, then I would try for paralysis next along with another attack. If it didn’t then I was going to still try for paralysis but go more defensive with Reflect. I was just going to have to wait and see what happened to determine what to do next. I liked planning ahead, helped me stay calmer if something wrong came up. I was usually good at thinking fast and coming up with something new if my last plan failed, however, I didn’t want that to happen here. I was glad Tauros didn’t know Megahorn. If it did, then Mindbender would be in some serious trouble. Though, it knew moves like Take Down and Giga Impact, even those moves would do a good amount of damage to her if I wasn’t careful. This Tauros didn’t seem to be as angry as my Pokedex says they were. This one probably wasn’t as reckless, which meant it must be smarter than most. Perhaps it wouldn’t even attack me first and do something like Double Team. If that happened, then I was surely going to have to use someone else. Perhaps I was going to have to anger it if it did something like that. It wouldn’t be that hard to do according to the Dex. If I was lucky, I wouldn’t have to do that.

    OOC: You, sir, and the king of bs. I bow down to you.

    ~~~~~
    I was watching the battle between Ataro and the Bouffalant when I felt Dual reach across out mind link it communicate with me.
    What is it? I asked, getting in a rare pre-emptive strike.
    <Cameron's just come across a Tauros, and he intends to battle it with Mindbender,> he said. <I don't want Mindbender becoming distracted, so would you swap with me for a while?>
    I was stunned. Wow, I'm impressed that you'd put her safety ahead of your own gazing, I said respectfully.
    <I'm not a god-damned manwhore like you,> Dual retorted.
    I was about to respond when the world began to turn a shade of blue. One of the things that had been given to me when Dual and I bonded was the ability to be teleported to Dual's location. Most Teleporters couldn't bring things to them - rather, they had to fetch what they wanted. But Dual was able to summon me because of the depth of our connection. The battle between Bouffalant and Snorlax swirled around, and when the swirl resolved itself I found myself looking at Cameron and Mindbender engaging in a stare-off with a Tauros. I looked around to see that Dual was already gone. He must have teleported himself the very second I arrived here.
    I raised chin in a jerk to Cameron by way of greeting, and took a step back, ready to watch the battle. Cameron was already giving out orders to Mindbender.
    “Hmm, I didn’t think of that. I don’t want you getting hit if it doesn’t hit. That is one strong looking bull. I suppose we’ll just have to raise your defenses if it doesn’t. Or better yet, use Will-o-Wisp instead," Cameron said. "That way, if it does attack you, it won’t hurt as much. That should help more. Then afterwards we can paralyze it. After Will-o-Wisp, knock it down with a powerful Psychic attack. We’ll see what we’ll do afterwards after you do this. Never battled a Tauros before, so not sure what to expect other than it rage charging us.”
    Gardevoir giggled and held her hands out in front of her, pointing her arms towards the Tauros. Seven small firey orbs began dancing around her hands as the Tauros roared. Just as Cameron predicted, the Tauros began to charge towards Mindbender, tossing its horns at her. The large bull was faster than I thought, and it knocked Mindbender over by ramming her with its forehead. She fell onto her back, taking some heavy damage, but now the bull was in point-blank range. The seven fireballs flew upwards and separated, sinking into different parts of the Tauros' body, targeting its most important muscles. She then retracted her arms and lashed them back out at the Tauros that was almost on top of her, throwing a telekinetic repulsion field at it. The Normal type was launched backwars, landing on its side and sliding along a bit.
    The Tauros got to its feet, wincing as it did so. No doubt the burn that Mindbender's Will-o-Wisp was already affecting it, making it hard to move. But it managed it, and then it began to act skittish. It blinked coyly at the Gardevoir and shuffled on its feet, acting all shy. Mindbender's battle stance softened, and her combat stare turned into a doe-eyed gaze. It looked like the Tauros had managed to Attract the Gardevoir.
    OOC: Male please.
    Snorlax had hammered each of the rock shards with surprising speed, sending all of them flying towards the Bouffalant like fiery rocks that had erupted from a volcano. They scattered through the air and formed a sort of fire-like wall barrier, crashing onto the Normal-type Pokemon. The Bouffalant grunted in pain a bit, but continued to charge forward. I wasn't too worried though. Being a bull, or at least I assumed it was, they had a tendency to charge at every single thing. However, I had confidence in Snorlax's bulk.
    As the Bouffalant slammed itself against Snorlax's belly, Snorlax was pushed back a few steps, but the Bouffalant was rebounded backwards as well - thanks to Snorlax's puffy belly. It landed with a crash on the ground, and there was no doubt that Snorlax was in a much better state than Bouffalant. However, on studying closer, I had noticed that there was a blue shimmer near Bouffalant's horns which made it look somewhat stronger - I wouldn't be quite surprised if it had used an attack boosting move secretly.
    While I thought of my next move, I had finally noticed that Chain's Gallade was no longer around. It had probably teleported away while I was in deep concentration in the battle - perhaps to find and guide Cameron as a ranger. Pokemon acting as rangers were starting to trend anyway... Anyway, Bouffalant was starting to get tired, and Yawn needed an extra turn to take its effect, so I decided that I should probably use Yawn now. Double statuses were extremely hard to succeed, but I decided I would try anyway. Besides the confidence that I had in Snorlax, even if the improvisation wouldn't work, it would at least cause residual damage.
    "Snorlax-boy, let's do your favorite move. Send the Yawn bubbles towards the Bouffalant, but let's do something different too. Charge the outer layer of the bubbles with a weak electrical charge by using a spread Thunderbolt attack, so that we would be able to inflict both paralysis and sleep at the same time. Once you're done with that, quickly set up a temporary barricade with your Protect," I said.
    Since Snorlax wasn't able to learn Thunder Wave, I had to figure out an improvised alternative. Even though he learned Toxic as well, it was a pretty bad status condition to use since it limits the time that I have to capture the wild Pokemon. With the electrically-charged Yawn bubbles, it would not only be able to work its effect, but also possibly deter the Bouffalant from getting up close to Snorlax. If it did, it would immediately get hit by the electrocuted bubbles and there was a high chance of being too shocked to move, or even gain extra damage due to Bouffalant's charging. Though, I was aware that moves like Earthquake still had the ability to hit Snorlax without Bouffalant charging forward itself. With Protect, it should be able to deter away attacks temporarily till I manage to give another command, or at least reduce the damage received.
    I watched as Snorlax nodded happily again - he sure was happy when I gave him a complex move order. He opened his mouth and released a barrage of pink luminous bubbles with ease; it seemed like his specialty to yawn anyway. When he released the bubbles, I had noticed that a dim yellow glow was coming out from his mouth as well - he had already used Thunderbolt on the bubbles. The bubbles floated across the battle field, but the color was going to change soon. The more they moved, the more they changed color. From the original pink, they started to flicker in dim shades of lemon-yellow. The bubbles were giving off yellow light from the insides of the pink bubble, while sizzling with weak electrical charge...
    IC: Tauros charged at her just like I had expected. The attack wasn’t as strong, but it did manage to knock her off of her feet. She flinched a little, but stood back up. She wasn’t going to go down so easily. She launched the several orbs towards Tauros, many which made contact with his body. Then, Mindbender managed to push him back with her Psychic powers. However, when Tauros got up, it started acting differently. It was acting all shy, sexy like. I knew then that he was trying to lower Mindbender’s defenses with a cheap tactic, Attract. This Tauros was certainly different from the rest. Unlike other Tauros, this one didn’t continue using head on moves. He probably knew that he was burned and his attack would hardly do much. That was probably why he switched tactics. If that was so, then this was a pretty smart Tauros, which just made me want it more. I could use a Tauros who didn’t always rage like my Pokedex said. This one was clearly different.
    I hated the move attract. It had been used on me before in battle. It causes the Pokémon to fall into a fake love with the user. Wasn’t real love, but they were so blinded by it that sometimes they would disobey orders and just not attack. This was a serious status inflection because now the Tauros could easily hit Mindbender and she would just willingly take the attack as a sign of love and not fight back. It was incredibly annoying, I hated the move. I knew I couldn’t battle with her until she got over this temporarily love.
    I was going to use Dual to snap her out of this attraction, but he teleported away and Chainy stood in his place. I wasn’t even sure if he could snap her out of this, maybe it was too strong. I couldn’t use him, so I was just going to have to let Mindbender rest for the time begin. “Mindbender, come on back for now. Cybershock, you’re up.” I called out, tossing the red and black Pokéball in front of me. The red and black cyber duck looking Pokémon emerged from his holding container. Cybershock looked at the Tauros, analyzing it. He computed all the data, from its current health, to its status condition of burn. He also scanned the area for any possible strategy he could use with the environment. Then he used all that data to calculate which move to use. Cybershock was definitely the best strategist I had on my team. Granted it was the fact that he was part computer, so storing data on his opponents was easy for him, not to mention great for me in battle.
    Despite me treating Cybershock as a male, he was genderless. This was going to be good since now the Tauros couldn’t use his attraction on Cybershock. Well, he could, but it wouldn’t work unless Cybershock magically turned into a male like I always treat him and have gay feelings for Tauros. Thankfully, nothing crazy like that was going to happen. All I had to worry about was other status conditions like Toxic or Poison. Either of those would be dangerous for Cybershock, so I was going to have to watch out for those. I knew Giga Impact caused Pokémon to remain motionless for a brief moment, but I didn’t quite catch that happening with Tauros hit Mindbender. If it didn’t become immobilized after Giga Impact, I was going to have some serious problems if he continued to use that move. Tauros was already strong; it didn’t need to be immune from the side effects of Giga Impact as well. With his burn still intact, I knew his attacks would do much less damage now, so I was a bit safe on that route. I wasn’t sure what move to use, I was thinking Rain Dance with Thunder and hope for paralysis. If it did that, that would be wonderful. Even if it didn’t paralyze, it would still do a good amount of damage.
    “Works for me.” Cybershock agreed. He usually read my mind in battle and talked to me telepathically, and even if he didn’t agree with a move, he didn’t say that. He would just agree, but I could usually tell when he was lying.
    “Alright then, use Rain Dance and hit it with Thunder!” I called out. Cybershock began imputing data before making his move. Then, Cybershock's body began glowing white as hot, moist steam came out of his body. What would happen is that the steam would float into the air and cause a large raincloud to appear above the battlefield. That rain cloud would then cause it to rain, which would make Thunder have an excellent chance to hit the opponent. It also had a high paralyzing rate, so I could only hope for that. Hoping for something to happen was something I did not like to rely on. If I wanted something to happen, usually I made it happen. Rather than hoping Thunder would paralyze, I would just use Thunder Wave to insure it, but right now I just wanted to do some damage.
    If Rain Dance worked, then Cybershock's eyes would start turning red and his paddle-like arms would become surrounded in yellow static. Then he would release a powerful blast of yellow electricity from his body towards the Tauros. I could have chosen another route, but I liked the possible outcome of this plan if it went through correctly. If not, then I was just going to have to try again. Or, just find a different approach to the situation. I wasn’t sure how much damage it would actually do to Tauros, but I hoped it wouldn’t accidently knock out the rampaging beast. Otherwise, I would just have wasted my time here, and I hated wasting time. I looked at Cybershock, then at Tauros. I could only wait and see what was going to go down. I just hoped Cybershock wouldn’t get too hurt from any ramming this Tauros does. Even if it was burned, he could still do some damage, so I was going to have to try and prevent that from happening, at least for right now. I just had to try and tire it out. Then, I would be in the clear to capture it and leave the park. I was definitely planning on coming right back in as soon as I left to this exact spot. Nothing was going to keep me from catching that Durant, I didn’t care how many times I was going to have to keep coming back to this part of the park, Durant was going to be mine eventually. I just wanted it to be sooner rather than later because I had other Pokémon I wanted to capture. The Druddigon breeding season was in a week, I had to catch Durant and be at the Outer Heavens by then or else I’d miss my chance at one since they were incredibly rare to find.
    Ranger : Leo
    Location : Outpost #5 (Botanical Gardens)
    Team Run - Alaskapigeon and Fossil Fusion.
    Commencing...
    “Leo, I know you’re the last person I should ask, but this case’s Ranger has to go.” My desk attendant said as she entered my office. “We need a Ranger to take this on. It’s a double run at the Botanical Gardens. Seems to be a place of interest nowadays. So you up for taking this one?”
    “Well, I can’t say no to you.” I quickly replied as I got up and grabbed the folder. “Alaska and Chris? Hmm, I suppose I’ll take this. This Alaska girl doesn’t look all there, I’ll have to watch out for her.” I whistled loudly and grabbed my pack along with a couple of Pokeballs. As soon as I stepped out of the office, a large black dog tackled me to the ground, licking my face.
    “Ugh, get off me.” I laughed and pushed Shadow off of me. He was pretty tall for a Houndoom. “We got to get down to the Gardens and take over for someone.” Shadow groaned and looked towards the ground. “I know, but I already said yes. You go tell Anna that you don’t want to go.” Shadow quickly shook his head in disagreement. “That’s what I thought.” I pulled out a blue and red Pokeball and tossed it in front of me. A large prehistoric pterodactyl flew in front of me. His large wings ferociously flapped back and forth, creating a nice, small breeze.
    “Can you take me to the Botanical Gardens?” I asked. Of course he would, but I felt it was always good to ask beforehand. Terrosaur nodded and lowered himself to the ground. I hoped on and he took off. Terrosaur was a pretty fast and strong flyer, we were there in under fifteen minutes. I heard a loud bark which insinuated that Shadow already found the duo. I landed right next to them and watched them escape. The girl, like I had expected was screaming crazily as she ran past Doduo and Hoppip. The guy didn’t seem as crazy, but I couldn’t be sure.
    “I’ll take over from here.” I said to Argent, then turned to my Trainers. “I’m Leo, your new Ranger.” Before they could reply, two Deerling jumped over some bushes. They appeared to be fighting with each other, they did, until they saw Chris and Alaska.
    “Well, do you want to battle them?” I asked.
