Argent could see a young girl walking along the wide path leading to the front gate, with an extremely large Pokémon that was easily recognisable by her side - after all, a good friend of his named Clara had one. It was a Garchomp, that was for certain. As the young girl proceeded onwards, it was clear that something was wrong with her. She was twitching from time to time - her Garchomp noticed this too, as he let out a whine of concern for his trainer. She appeared to be muttering something to herself, whilst at the same time reassuring her Pokémon that she was okay. Stopping for a moment as she grasped onto her black bag, she opened it and started rummaging around inside it for something. Argent couldn't be clear on what it was until she took it clean out of her bag - it had a blue wrapper, and was obviously a Rare Candy... something that one would only feed a Pokémon. However, upon opening it, Argent could see it was not, in fact, a Rare Candy. However, he couldn't distinguish what exactly it was. However, the Verdant Pokémon, who reached about up to his waist, frowned, her accurate eyes picking out exactly what it was.

Our friend Vanilla has just discovered a drug in the possession of our new Trainer, Argent. How delightful, she intoned dryly.

Argent's face dropped slightly. Whilst he could put up with a lot of bad habits, it did not particularly mean he liked them - taking drugs was one of the things he was definitely not prepared to accept, especially not in the National Park. He'd surely lose is job if someone caught him attending to a trainer who had drugs in her possession! How would Argent deal with this? The first thing that sprang to mind was sticking her in a bucket of Carnvanha and being done with it, but obviously that was inhumane and silly of him to think up in the first place. Then confiscating the drugs came to mind. He'd do it as soon as he got the chance. As Alaska took the drug, her Garchomp whined in a sort of mournful way, also infecting Argent with that sad feeling that anyone could get when they see someone throwing their life away.

Her body took on a spasm for a moment, and then she returned to normal. Walking down the rest of the path, she addressed him.

"Hey, are you Argent Silverswift?" she inquired.

"Yes, I am!" Argent replied in an automatically enthusiastic tone. "I guess I'll be taking you in through the Park today, just as soon as your partner comes along."

Almost on cue, Argent spotted a young man running down towards him - he didn't look much younger than Argent himself. Alaska appeared to look back at him in some kind of strange way as he made his way down with his Gengar and Crobat.

How quaint, Chimey dearest, Argent thought, sighing.

Don't be like that, Argent, Chimey jingled at him cheerfully.

As Chris came to a stop by Alaska, Argent addressed the two of them energetically, his tongue rolling rapidly as he spoke.

"Well, you two! Welcome to the National Park. I believe one of you have been in an area here before"- he glanced at Alaska. -"and one of you have not. However, it doesn't particularly matter. The main objective of the Park is to capture any and every Pokémon you like, provided you have the equipment. I don't expect you to be immaculately behaved, but please do not be overly disruptive - also, do not, and I stress this point, damage this area in any way. You'll find yourself escorted out of the Park in a heartbeat if you cause major damage, willingly or not. With that happy note, let's proceed into the Park!"

Ushering them on behind him, his Leafeon stalked through the tall grass with a certain content feeling. She looked towards the drug-taking trainer with a kind of resentment - hopefully her trainer would take the initiative to confiscate those drugs, or they might find themselves in a difficult situation. As she thought, she walked along the grass, not really paying attention to where she was stepping. So, of course, she managed to step rather hard on a poor, pink and rotund creature. Lifting her paw in shock, she hoped she hadn't crushed its brains out. It slowly rose into the air, ready to attack Vanilla, but Argent stepped in the way, explaining to it that it was here to fight the trainers, not his Pokémon.

Flipping in mid-air, the Hoppip floated in front of Alaska, chirping out challenge in a series of the syllables in its name. Upon hearing this, something else was disturbed further on. Argent was becoming extremely confused at this point. From the sky came a Pokémon with two heads. It landed in front of Chris, as if it thought Chris was more of a threat than the female trainer. Judging Chris with cold eyes, it squawked at him quietly.

That Pokémon seems to be well-versed in swearwords, Chimey helpfully supplied.

"Thanks," Argent drawled, turning to the two trainers. "Well, you two. Want to battle these Pokémon?"

Skitty had successfully dealt the first Double Edge. However, the second one wasn't looking too good. Treecko had made use of Flash to temporarily blind Coco, forcing Double Edge to not get a clean and direct hit. She missed her opponent and fell to the ground. That was not all. The Treecko took advantage of the situation, and quickly dashed towards Gardevoir in a zig-zag motion.

I focused my attention to Gardevoir for a while - for Treecko had started to change its target, and realized that it was charging up red energy balls. As the Treecko pounced onto Gardevoir, she released the bullets towards Ferroseed - to which I took as a sign of a relief. If Treecko had managed to intercept the attack that was meant for Ferroseed, I would have felt bad, since it was partially my fault for not handling Treecko properly. Though, the Treecko still managed to deal some amount of damage with Crunch; focusing on Gardevoir's arm.

As if that was not enough; the Ferroseed had returned attack. I had recognized the attack as a barrage of Bullet Seed. The small white bullet-like projectiles came firing towards Gardevoir, and the Treecko quickly disarmed itself from Gardevoir's arm. The attack struck the Psychic-type Pokemon - Skitty was still struggling to get up; thus she could not help.

"Mindbender, I want you to use Psychic to swat that Treeko off you. Then launch an Icy Wind at both Ferroseed and Treeko. It doesn’t matter to me if you hit Treeko or not, but be sure to hit Ferroseed for sure. After you do that, don’t focus any more of your attacks on Treeko. Finally, use Hidden Power again." Cameron called out. It seemed like a complex command, but with the nature of Cameron's Gardevoir, it was still considered an easy maneuver of move commands.

However, upon closer inspection of the looks on Gardevoir's and Cameron's face; they seemed to be quite preoccupied. I knew Psychic-type Pokemon had the ability to communicate telepathically, and I wouldn't be surprised if they had been doing it now; especially when I have witnessed them doing it before. After a while, the Gardevoir suddenly beamed a grin and nodded. It had reaffirmed my suspicion. The Gardevoir had started to emanate a magenta-colored energy from her body, while at the same time, forming multiple tiny red fire pellets with her palms.

"Coco, let's follow Gardevoir. Use Copycat to mimic her Hidden Power, and blast it towards the Treecko. Let it taste your fury. Once you blasted it, start charging towards it with another Double Edge. Don't let it have a chance to attack Gardevoir!"

Once I had said it, Coco quickly imitated Gardevoir's actions, just like a mirrored image of Gardevoir herself. I knew that she was more than happy to do this, since she would rather play along with whatever her partner started, then start attacking herself. She preferred to trust her ally in double battles, and making use of Copycat was the perfect choice. She followed the Gardevoir's actions and closed her eyes, then standing on her hind legs. It was rather amusing to look at her perform that weird maneuver. She then raised her front paws, and created the same multiple pellets of energy blasts between her paws. As the Gardevoir blasted it, she followed exactly and fired it as well. There were now two trails of Hidden Power pellets; all of them were littered across the field - aiming for their respective targets. Coco didn't waste any time, and immediately went charging forward with Double Edge - she didn't want to allow the Treecko any gap in time to be able to escape.

 

"Yes, I am!" Argent replied in an automatically enthusiastic tone. "I guess I'll be taking you in through the Park today, just as soon as your partner comes along."

From seemingly nowhere, a guy who looked a little older than me ran up. By his side, was a Garchomp that looked almost identical to Ryuu and a Crobat. The giant purple bat Pokemon made me flinch a little bit. I momentarily flashbacked to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas before shaking off the urge to start screaming and laughing hysterically. The dude didn't say much, but I kept one eye on him. I don't trust quiet people from experience.

Argent continued talking for a few minutes, some random park crap, but I mostly ignored him, instead choosing to stare into the sun. I had never noticed before, but it was, like, so colorful. And shiny. From far away in my happy place, I noticed Argent's Leafeon staring at my backpack. She couldn't know about my Rare Candy, could she? The crazy bitch set me on edge, and I began to sweat feverishly. Shit, she knows about my stas, I thought to myself with some panic.

"Well, you two. Want to battle these Pokémon?" I heard Argent say, suddenly.

"Wha-?" I responded, then caught a glimpse of the huge pink-and-green demon floating inches from my face. "WHAT IN THE LOVE OF GOD IS THAT!? GET IT AWAY! GET IT AWAY NOW! IT'S GOING TO EAT MY SKIN." I jumped on to Ryuu's back before realizing that I had jumped on the wrong Garchomp. It growled at me. "Heh," I muttered and slid off its back, onto the ground where I curled up into the fetal position and broke out into cold chills. "Man, I don't want no Hoppip. That shit is crazy. Let's get out of here, aight, bre?" I asked Chris.

 

Chris quickly dashed next to Alaska who was eager to press on through the mysterious garden. He tred quickly through the tall grass and caught up the rare candy junkie.

The purple, poisonous Crobat caught up with Chris through the cold air that breezed across the forest. Crobat then started to flutter its wings to hurry Chris along with Alaska stood by his side. For a moment when the young trainer's bat creature caught up with Alaska. He wondered if the Rare Candies were really worth it, however he wanted to push on and hunt down Tauros.

He looked at the Ranger who was talking for a few moments and explained how it all worked. Chris dazed and just wanted more action and less babbled nonsense. The trainer saw Alaska look into the sky and watch the sun carefully. Chris then also looked up and the bright sun in search of clues to find Tauros.

Argent mumbled some more garbage whilst Chris dazed at the sun. He turned his head down and looked at Crobat for a moment. He stroked the creature and if gave out a flutter of happiness... Suddenly, he heard the grass tumbled and out popped a Pokemon!

"Duo," it squarked. Wild Doduo appeared. It had two browny coloured heads and two sharp, knife like beaks. He thought to himself. "STUFF THE BIRD I WANNA MOVE ON DAMNIT!" Then, the bird squarked somemore but Chris turned to Alaska who jumped on a Garchomp's back. Crobat then turned to Doduo and swooped through the air to cause a distraction... Chris wanted to escape quickly whilst the wind tossed into the air. He looked at Alaska and said. "Let's move on!"

I cocked my head curiously. It was a long and mouthy command, but I'd seen Mindbender perform harder combos before. I had complete faith in her abilities. She assumed a serene pose that made it look like she was praying, and a faint blue outline began to glow around the part of her arm that the Treecko was firmly latched onto, but nothing more happened. At the same time, red orbs began to glow around her hands, wobbling and growing larger. I wasn't sure what happened to the Icy Wind attack, but a quick glance at Cameron's face told me that everything was going according to plan.

"Coco, let's follow Gardevoir. Use Copycat to mimic her Hidden Power, and blast it towards the Treecko. Let it taste your fury. Once you blasted it, start charging towards it with another Double Edge. Don't let it have a chance to attack Gardevoir!" Ataro called out.

I looked over at the Skitty, who was rubbing her eyes with her paws, still blinded by the Treecko's Flash. Her ears twitched at her Trainer's command, however, and she stood up on her hind legs, assuming roughly the same pose as Mindbender. The same red orbs began swirling around her paws, albeit much smaller in size.

The Treecko watched the Hidden Power attacks charging as it hung grimly onto the Gardevoir's arm. It didn't stay there, though. Both Hidden Powers launched at the exact same time - Mindbender's orbs flew towards the Ferroseed and Coco's towards the Treecko. The Treecko was ready, though. It let go of Mindbender's arm and dropped to the ground, keeping low, staring directly at the seven incoming fireballs. Its eyes flared bright yellow, and it began weaving left to right, dodging all the glowing spheres. The last one it just jumped over, clearly showing off.

Meanwhile, Mindbender's Hidden Power attack had crashed into the Ferroseed again, peppering it all over like laser fire on a dreadnought on one of my television shows. It made a strange squealing sound, and then turned onto its side. The Steel-type began rolling quickly towards Mindbender, and black energy gathered around its axis, making it look like a car wheel from the side. It crashed into Mindbender, knocking her over, before spinning out and rolling away into a tree.

Coco was still having a little trouble seeing - there were bright blue neon splotches right in the middle of her field of vision - but she could tell roughly where the Treecko was using the edges of her line of sight. She began running towards the Grass type Pokemon, becoming sheathed in white fire as she got closer. Unluckily, the Treecko was ready again - the cat cannonballed into the waiting Grass Pokemon, and that was when it struck. It lashed upwards with one of its legs, connecting solidly with the Skitty's body, knocking it up into the air. It then kept the leg moving in a circle and struck outwards, hitting it in the chest, sending it flying. Coco made a pathetic nyaaaaa sound as she flew through the air and then crashed into the ground, kicking up a small dustcloud.

It was hard to keep an eye on all four Pokemon at the same time - I had a feeling that none of their plans had really worked out the way they wanted them to. Hopefully Cameron and Ataro could adapt to the new situation, though, and the Ferroseed didn't look like it would be battling for much longer.

Ferroseed charged at Mindbender. He was spinning on his side, completely covered in a black energy as he slammed into her, knocking her off of her feet. The paralysis didn’t appear to be working too well, so I was going to have just straight on attack it from here on out. Using Mindbender and her Psychic abilities, I was going to have to use whatever was around me against it. Ferroseed slammed into a tree, so I could use the branches of that tree, powered by Psychic, to attack the Ferroseed. However, its outer shell would prevent it from taking any real damage. She was going to have to Icy Wind this time for real, then slam it into the ground with Psychic or something that will do some damage.

“Use Icy Wind this time, and then slam it into the ground with Psychic.” I called out to Mindbender. I knew it wouldn’t knock him out, so I was safe on that park. Mindbender took a few steps back as she tried to get Treeko into the Icy Wind path. She took in several deep breaths and her body began turning a light blue color. I could see small ice crystals form around her mouth area as she blew a strong wind of ice towards Ferroseed. I couldn’t be too sure it Treeko was in the Icy Wind’s path or not, but I sure hoped it was.

After she did that, her focus would return to Ferroseed and she’d start giving off a purple energy as she connected her mind with Ferroseeds in attempt to gain control of it. Even if she didn’t succeed in that, she could still lift it off of the ground and slam it back down hard. It wouldn’t do much damage because of its shell, but it was a start. Then I remembered a fragrance I had that would hopefully calm this Seed Pokémon down a bit. I pulled out vile labeled Calming Fragrance Plus. This would hopefully make my capture a whole lot easier. I pulled out a Hyperball and readied myself to throw it. Right after Mindbender used Psychic on Ferroseed I was going to throw my ball. I wasn’t sure why, but something was telling me that that was going to be a good time. ​

 

Just as the Hidden Power pellets were about to hit Treecko, it simply weaved through the attack, as if it knew where the attack would hit and thus know how to dodge it. Coco was still having a slight trouble seeing because of the earlier Flash and as she started charging forward, she was struck backwards by Treecko's Double Kick.

"Use Icy Wind this time, and then slam it into the ground with Psychic," said Cameron.

I knew Icy Wind had the ability to strike both targets at the same time in a double battle; though that wasn't guaranteed. I looked at Cameron and noticed that he was already holding onto his Hyper Ball. Even if I did not manage to knock out the Treecko this turn, I had to by next turn. We were just going to continue our rampaging.

"Skitty, keep it up! Let's go with two dozes of Copycat again. Follow Gardevoir and strike the Treecko with an Icy Wind and a Psychic!"

As soon as Argent had issued the question, Alaska seemed to have some kind of nervous breakdown. She took one hasty glance at the Hoppip and went into hysterics, jumping onto her Garchomp's back in the process of trying to hide herself from the 'thing'. The Hoppip, being quite a serious creature, frowned at Alaska's wild actions, as if being caught off guard. Alaska, falling backwards off of Ryuu as if she believed that it wasn't hers, curled up into the fetal position, highly puzzling Argent as she rocked herself back and forth gently, obviously scared by the Hoppip, even though it was practically harmless as long as she had her Garchomp with her - even if she didn't, she was hardly threatened.

Argent, shaking his head as he watched her, realised that these odd behaviours were obviously caused by taking drugs. He set his teeth as he turned back to watching the Hoppip, who formed a plan of attack in its mind while watching Alaska on the floor with a certain clinical detachment. However, it turned its body towards Ryuu, Alaska's Garchomp, evidently about to attack. Ryuu, sensing this, tensed his muscles so very slightly that Argent could barely make out the difference between its battle stance and normal stance. It was built like a tank - surely the Cottonweed Pokémon wouldn't be able to overcome something about five times as big as it? Argent shrugged customarily - battles were always subject to weird turns of the table.

While Argent's attention was focused on the battle that was imminent between Hoppip and Ryuu, the wild Doduo was having plans of his own. It seemed that neither of them were lucky enough to escape from the two. Doduo's cold, black eyes were analytic as it looked Chris and his companions up and down thoroughly, before deciding to settle for a battle with Crobat, a Pokémon who was much faster than it and outclassed it in nearly every way. As Chris's Crobat was being stared at, she grew edgy and irritable, glaring back at the Doduo as if daring it to try something, which, of course, it did.

Almost as if their minds were in sync, Hoppip and Doduo moved at exactly the same time to get in an attack. Hoppip looked like it was going straight head-on for Garchomp, causing Garchomp to step forward involuntarily, almost as if he was about to bat the Cottonweed Pokémon out of the air. However, as Garchomp raised his claw as if about to Slash it out of the air, Hoppip appeared to use a tactic deemed by Argent as 'heavy evasive manoeuvres'. As the claw came down, Hoppip barrelled down towards the ground, pulling up just at the last moment and spinning upwards once more, bashing against Garchomp in what Argent recognised as an Acrobatics attack. The thing went crazy all over Garchomp, slamming into whatever free area it could whilst it had the chance. Garchomp didn't look particularly fazed, and it batted the Hoppip away as if it were no more than an irritation.

Hoppip, crashing to the ground, quickly recovered and raised its body back up into the air. It looked just about ready to try and seriously kick this Garchomp's ass, but Ryuu's cold stare wasn't encouraging this notion. In fact, it was intimidating the Hoppip so much that it looked just about ready to try and save its own behind and make for the trees.

Doduo, however, was surely more able to strike with a bit more accuracy than the rather clumsy moves of its friend. The two-headed, light brown Pokémon dashed over at high speeds towards Crobat, who was almost blinded at the speed that this Pokémon was travelling at - in fact, Argent could barely believe it himself; he was now facing the battle between Chris and the rather calm Doduo. Even though it was dashing at a speed which most people found disconcerting, it kept a cool expression as it whizzed past Argent, whipping up a strong breeze that tugged at Argent's clothes and hair - after a brief moment, the wind subsided. As it came closer to Crobat, it leapt high up into the air - Crobat only realised at that moment that it was a Quick Attack, and was practically defenceless.

Doduo spun in the air, slashing at Crobat with a talon as part of its Quick Attack. However, Crobat managed to out-speed this somehow, and quickly deflected the talon, knocking the Doduo off-balance and sending it to the ground, much like Hoppip had a few moments earlier.

"I suppose you want to try and get away again?" Argent asked politely. He looked pointedly at Alaska, still rocking back and forward on the grassy terrain.

"Use Icy Wind this time, and then slam it into the ground with Psychic," Cameron called out.

I was still a little confused about why Mindbender hadn't used Icy Wind before, but I guessed Cameron knew what he was doing. Mindbender took a few steps back, and small crystals began growing all around her body, making it look like she was surrounded by raindrops or diamonds. They grew until they were the size of pennies, and then they started spinning really fast.

"Skitty, keep it up! Let's go with two dozes of Copycat again. Follow Gardevoir and strike the Treecko with an Icy Wind and a Psychic!" Ataro ordered.

Coco meowed and quickly scooted around the Treecko, giving it a wide berth, getting out of Mindbender's line of fire. She then closed her eyes, and white mist started gathering around her too. I realised the mist was just lots and lots of small orbs, like the ones covering Mindbender. Because Coc was smaller than the Gardevoir, her attack was smaller too. Logic, yay.

Both attacks fired at the same time. Mindbender raised her arms and the resulting wind was strong and wide, sending snow and small chunks of ice blowing towards both the Treecko and the Ferroseed. Skitty's attack was smaller, but no less effective. The Treecko was assaulted by two attacks at the same time, and since they were coming from roughly the same direction the little gecko Pokemon was lifted up into the air and sent flying. It crashed into the ground, outside of the Icy Wind's effect radius, kicking up a small dustcloud just like Coco had.

Mindbender's Icy Wind reached the Ferroseed, and it shivered a little bit as it rolled to the side, getting upright as it detached itself from the tree it had slammed into. The cluster of spikes above its eyes started glowing a sickly light green, and lines glowing the same colour launched into the air like mortars, converging on Mindbender's position. She tried to dodge them, but they were too fast for her. Luckily, they didn't look like they did too much damage, the Ferroseed must be getting tired.

It was then that I noticed Cameron was holding a Hyper Ball. He took careful aim at the Ferroseed and threw the small sphere. It tried to roll away, but it suddenly started glowing blue, and it rose into the air. Mindbender was grasping it with her mind and keeping it from moving. She slammed it into the ground twice, trying to settle it down.

Coco meowed again, trying to copy the Psychic attack, but she was too tired. Copycatting moves that she didn't know was hard work, and the Psychic appeared to be too powerful a move for her to mimic. Instead, she backed up a bit, being careful to keep an eye on the Treecko, who was getting to its feet. She blinked freely, and her vision was almost completely back to normal.

The Hyper Ball made contact with the spherical Pokemon and sucked it inside before falling onto the ground. It shook three times before laying still and making a chiming sound. I smiled, knowing that Cameron would now be very happy. Unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to move on until the Treecko was taken care of, and it was closing its eyes, concentrating on something. It might have a trick or two left up its sleeve...

IC: I saw the Hyperball soar through the air. I was surprised that I actually hit it with the ball. I didn't have the best aim, but I didn't expect it to hit Ferroseed. Usually Mindbender was the one that gave the ball the extra kick so that the ball would hit. It was like she was my third arm. I brought her on every single park run that I've been on here, except for my first. When I first came into the park, I didn't have her on my team yet. At that time, I had no idea I would ever be getting a Gardevoir. Hell, I didn't know how much I needed one.

I looked at her and the small scratches on her body. I didn't want her getting any more hurt than she already was. "Mindbender, use Wish, but if it comes at you or Skitty protect the both of you with Protect. Let's try and back our way out of here." Mindbender brought her arms together and began chanting a spell. Her body began to glow white and would then start healing her wounds. That would only happen if she had enough time to use Wish. I didn't know what the Treeko was planning on doing, but perhaps it would leave us alone if we back away. I knew that was highly unlikely, because if someone attacked me I wouldn't just let them get away. Then again, we didn't really attack it first, it jumped in to my battle with Ferroseed.

I reached into my bag and pulled out a Pokedoll. I was prepared to throw it if we couldn't escape from Treeko. I hoped Ataro's luck would change and be more like mine. I was pretty fortunate that I found two good Pokemon, especially one that I had come here for, early in my run. I couldn't ask for anything more other than my other disk work as well. For now though, I would focus on trying to get Ataro his Bouffalant. Heck, I wouldn't mind finding one of those myself after he captured his. I pulled out my Pokeplayer and put the Ferroseed disk back in my collection of voice disks. I flipped over to the 'D's' section and pulled out a Durant disk. I quickly popped it in and clicked the play button. Durant was a Bug type, and Grass types like Treeko were weak to Bug types like Durant. If I played the disk, perhaps it would scare away the Treeko. It was a crazy idea, but it might just work.

Coco quickly followed the Gardevoir's movement and proceeded to perform the Icy Wind attack herself. Her attack was smaller than Gardevoir's, but definitely as effective as well. The Treecko was bombarded by the double Icy Wind attack, and sent back flying.

Cameron had took an aim at the Ferroseed this time, and tossed the ball out at Ferroseed. Though, I didn't expected him to do it just yet. The Ferroseed however, suddenly tried to roll away. Just as it was about to do it, it became enshrouded in an outline of blue psychic energy - Gardevoir had suppressed it with Psychic.

Coco meowed again, this time trying to copy Gardevoir's Psychic attack, but she was too tired. I figured Copycat took a greater amount of energy and stress on its user than I had expected. The Hyper Ball had made contact with the Grass- and Bug-type Pokemon now, consuming it within the boundaries of the capture device. It shook three times before laying still and making a resounding click - the capture was a definite success. Treecko meanwhile, was closing it eyes; seemingly concentrating on something. It seemed to have been planning for some sort of a secret attack.

"Mindbender, use Wish, but if it comes at you or Skitty protect the both of you with Protect. Let's try and back our way out of here," Cameron suddenly announced. The Gardevoir quickly began chanting a rhythmic spell and starting glowing in a bright flash of white. I noticed he had pulled out a Pokedoll at the same time, probably being prepared to throw it if we still couldn't escape from the Treecko this time. He then pulled out another Pokeplayer and clumsily fumbled with a collection of voice disks. I had almost sweat-dropped at the amusing scene as he dug out a thick, fat collection of voice disks, all compacted in a disc bag holder.

Even though the Treecko was already at such a low health, I wasn't prepared to deal with this any longer. Now that Cameron had caught the Ferroseed, I didn't want to waste any more time playing chess with this Treecko. Who knows what it was planning to do this time? If it was a Bouffalant, I would gladly play along with it, but hell no. I started whimpering again, and tossed out my own Pokedoll towards the Treecko, while Skitty walked back to me and hopped on my shoulder.

"Let's go and find me my Bouffalant, :bawl:" - I started sobbing away again.

"Mindbender, use Wish, but if it comes at you or Skitty protect the both of you with Protect. Let's try and back our way out of here," Cameron advised.

Mindbender nodded and began chanting some kind of spell as she backed away. She became wreathed in a white glow and some of the small scratches on her dress and arms began to close over. She watched the Treecko carefully, and Coco hissed warningly at the little green Pokemon.

It didn't seem to care, though. It shot towards the pair of Pokemon, cloaking itself in a glowing blue energy field that crackled like electricity. It looked dangerous, and Mindbender threw the Grass-type a strange look. I glanced over to Cameron, and saw him fumbling around with his Pokeplayer. I wanted to yell at him that this wasn't the time, but he slammed a disc in and pressed the play button dramatically.

A metallic screech exploded out of the little red machine, sounding primal and vicious. The Treecko stopped literally mid-bound, shuddering to a stop right in front of Mindbender. It looked around with an expression that was half confusion and half deathly fear. The Pokeplayer made the horrible screeching noise, and the Treecko suddenly turned around and shot off, running away from what it thought was a pissed-off Durant. It reached the trunk of a tree and scrabbled up it, disappearing inside the high canopy.

"Well, that was close. I've never seen a Treecko perform any move like that before," I said curiously. "Ah well, ready to move on, boys?"

As if answering for her trainer, Mindbender nodded gracefully. Her wounds had all healed, and she was ready to move on. True to his promise, Dual released himself from his Poke Ball. He quickly rubbed his helmet and nodded politely at Ataro and Coco. He thrust his chin upwards when he saw Cameron - the two of them were fairly good friends - and a spark jumped into his eye when he saw Mindbender. This wasn't their first meeting, and if I remembered correctly his attempts to woo her hadn't completely failed. He walked over to her and bowed low over her hand, like a knight of old.

I rolled my eyes. Dual made a habit of approaching any Gardevoir he came across like this - he wasn't able to breed with many Pokemon, and as he told me repeatedly Gardevoir was pretty much the only attractive one. Hopefully Cameron didn't mind. He hadn't last time.

The Treecko suddenly came charging forward, while cloaked in some sort of a high voltage electric field that cackled loudly. However, as Cameron played his disc, the Treecko quickly stopped in its track and hurriedly ran off and scrambled up inside the high canopy. It probably had Durant allergies.

"Well, that was close. I've never seen a Treecko perform any move like that before," I said curiously. "Ah well, ready to move on, boys?"

"YEAH, YEE HAW!!!" I screamed away.

Gardevoir had nodded gracefully, as if answering for her trainer. She had healed all of her wounds and seemed ready to continue. Suddenly, a Gallade released himself out from Cameron's Poke Ball, and nodded politely towards Coco and I. He thrust his chin upwards when he saw Cameron - they probably knew each other before this. Then, he walked over to Gardevoir and bowed low. He seemed to have been courting the Gardevoir.

"Please do mate!" I shouted and screamed excitedly.

I suddenly realized that I've been feeling quite cranky ever since I stepped into this expedition. It must have been the heat. Regardless, I pulled out Lickilicky's and Skitty's Poke Balls to return them back in, while encouraging them for their efforts. Skitty had needed a rest anyway. I then took out another capture device. This was unlike the rest. Instead of the usual red and white appearances, this ball had a dark gray color on the top of the sphere instead. It had several round semi-circular orb-like protrusions on the top of the orb as well, shaped like blue bubbles on a gray surface. A Heavy Ball. I tossed it into the air to reveal my Snorlax, to which he responded by hugging me tightly.

After that, I climbed to the top of Snorlax's shoulders. I was going to continue the expedition while riding Snorlax - I was starting to get tired anyway.

 

Like I had expected, the disk had scared away the Treeko. I was a bit surprised, but relieved that it worked. I wiped the sweat off of my forehead and let out a sigh. One Pokemon down, one to go. I pulled out a small canister labled 'Grass Repellant'. I quickly sprayed it on me. Now that I caught Ferroseed, I could use the Grass Repellant to guard off any other Grass type Pokemon that I didn't want. That's why I was really happy when I found it before Durant. I gave me a chance to find a Ferroseed before I repelled it away. I couldn't believe my luck at this point. I felt like everything was going according to plan. I still felt bad for Ataro because he hadn't caught a single Pokemon yet. However, I knew that if we came across a Bouffalant that would change everything and he'd be happy. All I could do is hope, which is something I did a lot of. If Bouffalant didn't come, maybe something just as good would show up that Ataro wanted to catch. I wasn't sure what that would be though since I wasn't sure what else Ataro came looking for. I knew of only a few Normal type Pokemon that Ataro didn't have, I wondered if one of those would be ones he was interested in.

"Well, that was close. I've never seen a Treecko perform any move like that before," Chain said. "Ah well, ready to move on, boys?"

"YEAH, YEE HAW!!!" Ataro screamed. I laughed a bit.

I saw a white flash come from Chainy and saw his partner, Dual, emerge from his Pokeball. Dual was a pretty cool Pokemon, I was meaning to ask Chain where he was. To be honest, I thought he would have been out sooner, however, now that Mindbender was done battling, I could see he wanted to put his moves on her. Mindbender giggled as the two disappeared. I couldn't help but to laugh.

"I guess I'll find someone else to use when I find Durant." I shrugged. I looked over at Ataro. I knew he was about to use his disk, so I held out mine and pressed the play button, I hoped that we would both find what we were looking for. Before Ataro used his disk, he climbed up on his Snorlax and decided to go for a ride. I wondered if his Snorlax would remember me, we had some fun times.

"YEAH, YEE HAW!" Ataro screamed randomly. I flinched back and covered my ears with my hands, in case he decided to start yelling again. Luckily, he didn't. It struck me that Ataro was either random, imbalanced, or insane.

Dual gave Ataro a funny look, but then he sent me a message through our telepathic link. <I'll be back a little bit later,> he said, disappearing in a flash of blue light.

Yeah, I bet you will, I replied sourly. What happens if I need you?

<You won't, I have faith in Smash and Specialle and Meta,> his thought came floating back. I had no idea where he was and he was blocking his vision from me, so wherever he was he probably wasn't allowed. Knowing him, he'd taken Mindbender to one of my secret stashes and was planning on getting her roaring drunk.

What about Broadblade? I needled him. Broadblade was my Staraptor, and my primary mode of transport outside of Dual's teleport. Being a Flying type, he made Dual wary, but the two had worked together long enough that they trusted each other. Just not to the extent of the others. I fully expected the begrudging grunt that Dual returned to me.

Just don't go and get her pregnant, I thought, grinning. One of you is bad enough, and knowing Cameron he'd drop all the little baby annoyances on me.

Dual sent me a cheeky grin, and cut the connection. Despite out joking around, I was quite sure he wouldn't actuallt do so, and I could always re-establish our connection if I needed to. Dual had given me that ability when we'd joined our minds - I had a few hints of telepathic ability, moreso with Pokemon than humans.

"Please do mate!" Ataro yelled again, and I flinched away from him once more. Not wanting to be subjected to any more of his loud screaming, I quickly led the way down the path once again, deeper into the forest plot, gravel crunching underneath my foot. I enjoyed the walk, seeing as my earpieces were now filtering out both the Bouffalant and the Durant calls. For some reason, Ataro decided to release his Snorlax, and he clambered up onto its back. The big blue-and-white beast could barely fit on the path, but he just managed it. I hoped for Ataro's sake the big lumbering Pokemon didn't accidentally crushing something important.

A couple of minutes later, we found a young Zigzagoon playing with an almost destroyed PokeDoll right in the middle of the path. Its head and one of its arms had been ripped off, and the small shaggy Normal-type was throwing it repeatedly into the air. Stuffing flew out on every fling, covering the path in white fluff. I was about to say that perhaps we should just move past it when I heard an angry screech. I looked upwards, into the trees, and I saw a familiar sight. The Treecko from before was back, except this time it had brought company. A huge Sceptile with a scar over its right eye dropped out of the tree and screeched again, barely five metres from Cameron's face. My guess was the Treecko had told on us, and this Sceptile was its parent, and not a very happy one at that. They'd probably used the Voice Disk calls to track us. The Zigagoon looked up in interest and walked a little closer, yapping happily at the Sceptile, who gave it a quick look of disinterest but didn't seem to have a problem with its battle partner. It looked like we'd found out next Encounter.

I listed around to see if I could hear any response call coming from any nearby Durant, but so far nothing. Had I not found Ferroseed, I would be throwing a fit right now. Well, perhaps not to spare myself the embarrassment, but I surely wouldn't be in the good mood that I'm in now.

I thought about Mindbender and hoped she would stay safe. Didn't want anything to happen to her, or for her to get kidnapped again. I was sure since Dual was there this time that he wouldn't let anything happen to her.

The Gardens was such a peaceful place for one to relax. The weather right now was perfect. It was sunny, but not too hot and every now and again you would feel a nice cool breeze hit your face. It felt magical. The Gardens was definitely a nice place for a picnic. Durant were known to steal foods from such picnics. I would totally have one if I had brought an actual lunch for us to eat. All I had was three gronola bars from breakfast that I had forgot to eat. I quickly pulled one out and began leaving small trails, hoping a Durant would come and follow my crumb trail. I looked around, keeping my eyes and ears peeled. I heard small rustling sound coming from a green bush with blue flowers. I quickly became excited, thinking my plan had actually worked, but of course it was too good to be true. A small Zigzagoon came running towards me, eating the crumbs off the floor.

"Hey!" I cried out, "don't eat those." I let out a small sigh. "Fine, take half of this bar and this doll." I couldn't help but to be taken in by its cuteness. I already had a Linoone though, so I wasn't interested in battling this little guy, especially since all he wanted was my gronola bar. The Zigzagoon began backing off when a loud roar came from our left side. A large angry Sceptile jumped out of a tree and landed in front of me. I saw that it had a scar over its left eye.

"Shit, this must be the dad, or are you a lady?" I taunted. I looked over at the Zigzagoon who was now taking the side of Sceptile. "Wow, you eat my gronola bar and you don't even side with me, how rude. No more for you." Sceptile roared again. I had been in front of angry Pokemon before, but never an angry parent. Who knows what this Sceptile would do to defend its young, and there I went insulting it. I just backed away and hoped it would realize Treeko came at us and stand down. While this was going down, I realized I had forgotten to turn off my Pokeplayer and that the Durant voice disk was still playing.

We continued walking down the graveled path. Even though the weather was perfect for such a peaceful walk, I felt kind of bored - I guessed I was the more adventurous type of person. Along the journey, I had noticed Snorlax kept sneaking a peek at Cameron - he probably remembered about the incident where he had to ranger Cameron in the Meteor Valleys. Those were quite the memories.

All of a sudden, Cameron took out a granola bar to munch on. He probably shouldn't have did that with Snorlax around... Anyway, a small Zigzagoon jumped out from the bushes to eat the crumbs that Cameron had dropped on the ground, to which Cameron responded by exclaiming in shock.

"Hey!" He cried out, "don't eat those. Fine, take half of this bar and this doll."

At the same time, a Sceptile jumped out of a tree and landed in front of us. It growled menacingly at us, giving off a frightful stare, especially when it had a deep and ugly scar on its right eye. Looking behind the Sceptile and high up on the tree branches, I had noticed the same Treecko from before, still looking pretty roughed up. It smirked at us, to which I assumed the Sceptile was either its relative or family member, perhaps even its parent.

"Shit, this must be the dad, or are you a lady?" Cameron taunted. He looked over at the Zigzagoon who was now taking the side of Sceptile. "Wow, you eat my gronola bar and you don't even side with me, how rude. No more for you."

The Sceptile had roared yet again, probably even more annoyed at Cameron's indifference towards it. I definitely don't want a Sceptile either though - I already had one and I could just purchase a Treecko in the Pokemart anyway. Suddenly, Snorlax lunged forward and snatched the other half of the granola bar away from Cameron. He quickly put it into his mouth and munched away; afraid that Cameron would snatch it back. He wiped his mouth contentedly, and grinned happily at Cameron.

"Okay, now that you're full, send them flying away with your Whirlwind!" I ordered Snorlax, while still on top of him.

He whipped up a Whirlwind using his mouth, so I didn't had to move out of the way. As he planted his feet to the ground more firmly, he took a deep breath and blasted a large gust of wind that transformed and transcended into a twister of Whirlwind. Hopefully, it would be enough to sweep them away. If not, I was prepared to use my Sceptile-shaped Pokedoll which had a pink ribbon on its ears - signifying that it was female; to which I had drew a scar on its left eye as well, on the Sceptile.

 

As Crobat swooped through the cold air across the Botanic Garden whilst it dodged Doduo's Quick Attack attempts. Then, Crobat then bashed at Doduo for a moment with its own attack attempts. The fluffy bird's heads started to tangle slightly and knocked it off balance. Doduo's feet bent inwards for a moment whilst it's attack missed.

Chris tried to run away as quick as possible, along side with Alaska. However, Doduo suddenly flashed around the scapegoat and glared at Chris right in the face. The two-headed bird was persistent and would not leave the trainer alone. It squaked loudly, and taunted Crobat with its long, sharp beaks. Doduo squaked somemore and then pecked the ground as some kind of taunt at Crobat... The giant bat flapped its scissor like wings and wanted to attack the angry bird.

"No Crobat, we must leave," Chris shouted and waved at Crobat. The poisonous bat's eyes sharply stared out Doduo. It was adamant it must battle it and not run away like its trainer anticipated. The wind smoothly brushed against both trainers and Argent. Crobat fluttered its wings and then turned to Garchomp. Alaska and her giant Dragon Pokemon were ready to dash away...

"Hey, Alaska," Chris said and asked. "You wanna run?" Doduo stomped the ground and glared at the young trainer and dashed at his Pokemon. Crobat then swooped across the bright blue sky. The two headed bird looked up... Chris then started to walked slowly away from the fluffy bird and tried to escape again... Chris thought to himself that if he wasted time here with this pathetic Doduo he would not find Tauros anywhere... The young trainer looked at Alaska... Alaska's dark clothing made her look evil, however she was harmless like a Caterpie. Garchomp snarled within the wind at the Pokemon she was facing...

"Quickly.." Chris shouted. "Let's leave!"

 

I climbed up out of my fetal position and noticed that the magenta monstrosity was STILL THERE. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. GRINNING....MANIACALLY. Chris' Crobat swooped down as if to attack the Hoppip, but right before it made impact, he yelled, "No Crobat, we must leave!"

The Crobat flew back up and positioned itself to fly away. Our other Pokemon looked ready to run as well. :Hey, Alaska," Chris said and asked, "You wanna run?"

I felt an odd surge of confidence and I saw stars in front of my eyes. Reaching into my backpack, I pulled put a machete and waved it at the attacking Pokemon. "Let's fucking do this. AYIYIYIYIYIYIYIY!!" I screamed and ran at the Pokemon, attempting to get past them.

The Sceptile roared again, and the Zigzagoon fluffed up its fur a little more, obviously happy to be behind such a powerful Pokemon. I noticed out of the corne of my eye that it had half an energy bar sticking out of its mouth - no doubt it had managed to scavenge one off of Cameron or Ataro.

"Shit, this must be the dad, or are you a lady?" Cameron taunted.

The Sceptile shut its mouth and pulled its head back a bit, clearly miffed. It looked at Cameron with one of its beady eyes, before sending a croak up into the trees. An answering croak was soon heard, and the Sceptile lowered its centre of gravity, obviously preparing to fight. The Zigzagoon must have picked up on this, because it quickly gulped down the food and started barking at us, albeit in a playful way.

"Wow, you eat my gronola bar and you don't even side with me, how rude. No more for you," Cameron said to the Zigzagoon, sounding miffed. I couldn't say that I blamed him in the least. We'd probably have to obtain some food at some point in time - maybe I should aim to have us arc past the picnic areas. There were vending machines there, and Leo and I had perfected the art of getting food out without paying. The trick was to hit it in the exact right place without setting off the alarms.

I nearly jumped out of my boots when I heard an ominous sounding munching from behind me. I turned around to see Snorlax with its paw to its mouth, eating something happily. I wasn't surprised to see that it was eating right before a battle - Snorlax never stopped eating, except to sleep. It shot Cameron a cheeky grin and I gathered that it had stolen some of Cameron's food.

"Okay, now that you're full, send them flying away with your Whirlwind!" Ataro called from up on its shoulders.

I knew what was coming, and quickly stepped backwards behind the big blue beast. It took a deep breath, its stomach expanding beyond obese. The Zigzagoon, despite being young, was not stupid. It could sense something bad was about to happen, so it turned tail and ran, disappearing into a clump of bushes and not re-emerging. The Sceptile stood its ground defiantly, though. It wasn't going to run away - there was no way the wind blown from this fat lump could knock it over.

As it turned out, the Sceptile was dead wrong. Snorlax's head snapped forward and a tornado of wind blasted out, smashing into the Sceptile. The fast-moving air picked the Grass-type up off its feet easily and carried it spiraling up towards the sky, crashing through the canopy. We wouldn't be seeing it again any time soon. I wasn't too worried about it, though - it was too strong and cunning to be hurt on the way down.

The Treecko watched us through narrowed eyes. It looked like it wanted to charge us, but it was smart enough that it wasn't going to. Begrudgingly, it turned around and jumped from branch to branch in the direction the Sceptile had gone.

"Well, that was tense," I said. "But we should probably move-"

A loud lowing interrupted me. I recognised it easily - that was a Bouffalant call! But what was one doing here in the forest plot? I ran forwards, hoping that Cameron and Ataro would follow. I turned a corner and was surprised - we were at one of the side exits to the forest area. A small chainlink fence separated the tropical trees from some rolling plains, which I remembered were close to the picnic area. We'd essentially cut across a corner of the forest plot and emerged right in between the picnic area and the plains.

I put my hand over my eyes, shading them from the sun, and I picked up a small dustcloud moving towards us from the plains. "You guys have about twenty seconds to get ready for a battle," I said. I doubted that they'd want to pass - I was about 95% sure that one of the incoming Pokemon was a Bouffalant, the entire reason Ataro was here in the first place.
