"Sorry, Mindbender is gone." Cameron said sadly. "I can't teleport you down." I felt like slapping myself in the face. As if the lost of his Pokemon wasn't painful enough, I had to remind him of the fact that Gardevoir was lost again. He didn't seemed to affected by it fortunately, and his face lit up almost immediately. He thought of an idea. "I can have Cybershock, Powerglide, and Kickback lower you down with Psychic. It's the only thing I can think of right now."

"I don't have time for this," Cameron said, and threw his Pokedoll towards the Purrlion. I wasn't sure if he was too overwhelmed with emotions or did it accidentally, but the force of the throw was too strong and the Pokedoll ended up hitting onto Purrlion's face. The Purrlion started to scream loudly as it saw the incoming doll, but was stopped short when it smashed into its face. The scene was so hilarious that I chuckled openly.

"Powerglide, Cybershock, Kickback, help Snorlax down with Psychic."

Before I could even respond, I was already surrounded by a blue glow, and the next thing that I knew was that I was floating in the air. I tried not to move even a muscle, since I was worrying whether their psychic powers were enough to lift me up, since I was after all one of the most, if not most, heaviest Pokemon there is. It seemed that Cameron's idea of having all three Pokemon to use Psychic worked though; the combined strength made it possible to levitate me. I watched as Houndoom jumped his way down using the rocks, displaying his amazing lower body strength.

"Terrosaur, help me down." I heard Cameron called out. I saw Aerodactyl clutching onto Cameron's shoulders as they touched down first, followed by me. The three Psychic-type Pokemon held onto each other and disappeared with a trace of white flash, only to reappear right beside me on ground level again; they had used Teleport together.

"Okay Snorlax. Good work! I want you to take over Joe and Jay for me, while I will take Cameron," I said, not bothering to explain too much to Snorlax, for he knew what I was thinking. The situation has elevated to a more critical accident and we need to find the trainer's Gardevoir back for him.

Snorlax nodded his head quickly but suddenly turned back to face Cameron's Porygon-Z instead. They seemed to be conversing in Pokemon language and a projection suddenly appeared in front of Porygon-Z. I watched as a Gardevoir was in free fall, presumably Cameron's. However, a silhouette started to appear from within the waterfalls and it emerged out and grabbed Gardevoir, before zooming back into the waterfalls instead. I exclaimed in shock with comprehended mumbles. The speed of that creature was so fast that all of it happened in less than five seconds. The lunge for Gardevoir was both blurred and I couldn't even make out anything from that silhouette. What's more impossible is that the creature actually jumped out from a waterfall and escaped back in. I looked towards the roaring waterfall beside us and started to inspect it for any signs of suspicious opening, but found none.

Although it might make sense to just follow the creature and jump straight into the waterfall, it was far too dangerous. The chances of a cave being behind a waterfall is slim to none. We might be even overwhelmed by the sheer force of the waterfall itself or even smash into the wall behind the waterfall; and die in the process. I started scratching my chin while thinking of a solution. Snorlax remained still as Joe and Jay still hasn't moved from their original position.

Suddenly, I felt an eerie presence from behind. There was a grieving cry that resonated from the cave walls and it was even louder than the crashing sound of the waterfall. A chilly breeze started to blow from behind at the same time. I turned back slowly and cautiously; this was getting spooky. My thoughts were running wild as I thought about the possible appearances of ghosts and spirits, especially since we just had a spooky encounter with the creature that took Gardevoir away at an insanely fast speed. When I turned around, I let out a sigh of relief. It was just a Misdreavus; a Ghost-type Pokemon that was usually very mischievous. Once I turned around to face it, it stopped crying and started giggling; it had taken joy in pranking me.

    "Well, I doubt you'd want a Misdreavus?"

"Well, I doubt you'd want a Misdreavus?" Ranger Ataro said. He was right. At this point, I had no use for one. The last Misdreavus I had took my money and left with one of my so-called best friends. I was definitely not in the mood to go with another one. Besides, I still had to look for Mindbender. I wasn't sure what creature took her, but if my guesses were right, I'd catch it easily with one of my Masterballs. The factory I used to work for manufactured these Masterballs so I could easily go and take some more if I needed too.

"Na, not interested in one." I said, pulling out another doll and placed it on the ground. I carefully rolled the doll over to Misdreavus so it can take it and leave. "So, were should we start looking? I didn't really see anything that would give us any clues. I should have paid more attention." I sighed. I looked around the area. Then I remembered that I was going to ask Zorua if he new anything about that Pokemon that snatched Mindbender. I turned back to Ataro. "Mind if I ask Zorua if he knows anything? He lives in this area, so he might have a clue as to what we're dealing with. Worth a shot."

"Na, not interested in one," Cameron said. He placed the Pokedoll on the ground and rolled it towards Misdreavus, whom lowered itself to the ground. The moment the Misdreavus touched the Pokedoll, it disappeared along with the Pokedoll; it was probably invisible. Most Ghost-type Pokemon had the ability to become invisible to the naked eye.

"So, were should we start looking? I didn't really see anything that would give us any clues. I should have paid more attention." Cameron sighed and started scanning the area as well. He seemed to thought of something again and turned back to me, "Mind if I ask Zorua if he knows anything? He lives in this area, so he might have a clue as to what we're dealing with. Worth a shot."

I nodded my head and agreed that it was a good idea. I took out Zorua's Hyper Ball and released it. It seemed to be really tired but could still hold out. Cameron squatted down and patted the Zorua, before asking the small Pokemon if it knew anything about where Gardevoir went. I knew Zorua was a naturally mischievous and tricky Pokemon, but it was either that it was too tired to play now, or perhaps it had already been 'semi-tamed' when it was captured. The Zorua started shuddering upon the the question and shook in fear.

It is an ancient Pokemon. A Pokemon thought to have been a new species. A Pokemon that is so evil that even Darkrai was nothing compared to it. All of us are scared of it...

It took me a while to realize that Slowbro was the one responsible for the telepathic projection. He must have read Zorua's thoughts and shared them with Cameron and myself, as Cameron turned and looked at me worriedly. I wasn't sure if it would be safe to proceed further by ourselves, but as dangerous as it sounds, it actually sounded incredibly exciting. I had always liked adventures. I started to analyze the previous patterns of the waterfalls yet again. A Pokemon, presumably the apparent ancient Pokemon, had jumped out from within the waterfall. We might be able to test if the wall behind the waterfall is a solid wall or a hollow wall.

As Joe and Jay were still busy battling, I decided to just ask Snorlax to fire an attack towards the waterfall. "Snorlax, I want you to lift up this boulder," I said while pointing to a rather huge rock beside us, "and throw it towards the waterfall by using the throwing power from a swing of Mega Punch."

Snorlax obeyed immediately and lifted up the huge rock without much trouble. His arms started to glow in a white flash as he suddenly flung it towards the waterfall and it smashed through it within a mere second. The speed of the throw was further enhanced with the use of Mega Punch. Instead of the rock being rebounded or simply dropping down back to the ground, it had disappeared instead. The moment it struck the waterfall, it was enveloped by it and disappeared. That could only mean one thing - there was a hollow cave behind it. I quickly told Cameron about the pattern of it, though I wouldn't be surprised that he already knew that since he was an Elite Ranger himself.

"Okay, we have to get on the other side of the waterfall. Any ideas?"

Okay, we have to get on the other side of the waterfall. Any ideas?" Ataro asked.

"Just one." I responded. I thought about it carefully before saying anything. This plan was going to invlove almost all of my Pokemon. What I could do was have Terrosaur use Rock Tomb and Powerglide use Ancient Power right above the waterfall, and then have them both sweep down quickly and I would put them back in their Pokeballs. Then, I'd have Kickback and Cybershock use Psychic to keep the rocks in place which should momentarily stopping the water from coming down, giving us enough time to get in the cave. If that worked, we'd be in for the clear and that much closer to finding Mindbender. I knew this had to work.

"Let's hope this works." I said quietly. "Terrosuar, use Rock Tomb to stop the waterfall. Powerglide, you use Ancient Power. Then swoop down here and I'll put you back into your Pokeballs. Cybershock, you and Kickback use Psychic to keep the rocks in place to give us enough time to go through. Kickback, once we go through, use Cybershock's Pokeball and put him back in. Then I want you to go through. Keep Cybershock safe in the Pokeball. Shadow, stay by my side." I knew he'd get a little wet, but he was going to have to take it. He didn't like going in his Pokeball so he'd just have to go through.

"Ready?" I asked my ranger. We were going to have to move fast if this was going to work. We'd have about ten seconds or so to get through. There wasn't a moment to waste. As soon as I saw Ataro nod, I signaled for Powerglide and Terrosaur to start the plan.

"Just one," Cameron responded. He took a while contemplating before he started to announce his plan to all of his Pokemon, and of course me in the process. "Let's hope this works," he said quietly. "Terrosaur, use Rock Tomb to stop the waterfall. Shadow, stay by my side." Once he was done giving out instructions, he looked at me and asked with a serious voice, "Ready?", to which I nodded.

It seemed like a good plan - there didn't seem like anything that would go wrong. The Aerodactyl and Togekiss took flight into the skies and glowed together in a shiny sparkle. The rocks nearby levitated magically all of a sudden, and were lifted all the way up into the sky. Once it was up, Cameron quickly returned them to his Pokeballs within mere seconds. The Pokemon seemed to have controlled them with their Rock-type moves as they rocks were hurled down towards the waterfall. Suddenly, their movements were halted by a purple psychic wave that surrounded the rocks. I looked at Porygon-Z's and Slowbro's expression as they seemed to struggle with the overwhelming task of freezing the rocks.

Immediately, Cameron and I counted three counts under our breath and took a huge leap into the waterfall. The water was still gushing down from above, but most if it has been diverted to the sides now. We managed to get onto the other side but rolled and tumbled on the ground at the same time. Houndoom had landed flat onto the ground as well, as he quickly got up and shook off the water droplets on its body. The next thing I knew, Cameron's Slowbro teleported himself into the same area as us, which was possible since he had managed to see this area due to the diversion of the waterfall from the rocks. He walked up to Cameron and handed him Porygon-Z's Pokeball - safe and intact as he held onto it with his mouth.

As the psychic powers diminished, the rocks fell off and the waterfall went back into its violent crashing state. No one would even knew what had happened if they didn't manage to see it. The entire area was pretty dark, especially since the gushing waterfall behind us had trapped most of the light out of the cave somehow. As if Houndoom managed to read my thought, his body suddenly lighted up and was surrounded by tiny spots of ember flames. Now that we could see our surroundings, it wasn't exactly anything exciting. It was a one way route and led forward; to which I had no idea what was in store for us, since it was nothing but pitch black ahead.

Suddenly, I heard the sound of a Pokemon. I turned to the right where the source of the sound had came from, and found the huge boulder that Snorlax had threw across the waterfall earlier. And on top of it, was Pawniard - the sharp blade Pokemon. It sat on top of the boulder motionless, and showed its mischievous grin as it smiled at us cheekily. At this time, we suddenly heard a huge roar which echoed all the way from deep within the caves and blasted into our ears. It lasted for a short while, but I noticed that Pawniard no longer looked naughty and mischievous. It seemed to have been disturbed as it suddenly got down from the boulder, and crouched down low on the ground. Something was amiss about that roar.

"Hmm. Cameron, do you want this Pawniard? It seems to have been hugely affected by that deafening roar. Something is responsible for it and my senses tell me that it's the very same creature whom took your Gardevoir away."

[FONT="Comic Sans MS]OOC: You forgot to add the MCR from before. lol post is lol

The plan went off without a problem. We successfully went through the cave without getting hurt. We got wet a little, but we'd dry off eventually. We just had to be careful not to catch a cold. Slowbro jumped through the waterfall with ease. Him being a Water type Pokemon made that easy. Kickback tossed me Cybershock's Pokeball. I made a quick inspection and he appeared to be safe.

"Good job Kickback." I said happily. I pulled out his black and red Pokeball and sent him back in for a nice long rest. I looked over at Ataro and waited for him to instruct me on what to do since he was the Ranger. I knew that he had never been to this part of Meteor Valley because he would have known about this cave, so we were both new to this area. Still, he knew the general layout of this area so I just had to trust him. Before he could say anything, a small red creature jumped onto the top of a nearby rock. Then we heard a loud roar coming from then end. I knew that had to be what took Mindbender, but I couldn't be sure with certainty.

"Hmm. Cameron, do you want this Pawniard? It seems to have been hugely affected by that deafening roar. Something is responsible for it and my senses tell me that it's the very same creature whom took your Gardevoir away."

"Yeah," I said, pulling out my Masterball. I wanted to capture it and get this over with as quickly as possible. The faster I moved, the better chance Mindbender had of being okay. After thinking for several seconds, I put it away and pulled out a Supreme Parkball and a Calming Fragrance Plus. If I could use a Parkball stronger than a Hyperball then calm it down the fragrance. “Alright, I guess I’ll battle this little guy. Shadow, you’re up. Take precaution.” I called out. It looked a bit frighten for some reason. The loud roar coming from farther down the cave seemed to have this Pokémon spooked. I remembered what Zorua told me.

It is an ancient Pokemon. A Pokemon thought to have been a new species. A Pokemon that is so evil that even Darkrai was nothing compared to it. All of us are scared of it...

I wondered what could be so evil that most of these Pokémon would be scared of. I didn’t see Darkrai as an evil Pokémon; I felt it was more misunderstood. I had only encountered Darkrai once. I knew there was more than one, but the one that I had met was actually quite more sociable, a bit shy though. I couldn’t think of anything that could be this evil. Maybe the Pokémon that took Mindbender wanted something from me, I could only wonder what. I also wondered if I could put up a challenge for this menace. I would have to try in order to get her back. If I didn’t I wouldn’t just fail myself, I’d fail her as well.

I did a further examination of the wild Pokémon I was about to battle. I knew it was both a Dark type and a Steel type Pokémon, so I had a advantage using Shadow. I looked over at the Pawniard. It had a round red helmet heat with a blade extending from the front. Its black face stared at me, his yellow eyes locking into mine. Its black torso area had four steel spine blades, two were on each side. It extended its red arms, pointing its blade like hands at me. This little guy was a fighter, or so it seemed.

I pulled out my Pokedex for further analysis. I flipped open the device and a green light shot out and landed on the Pawniard. The green light slowly scanned the Pokémon. Then it said:

Pawniard: Blades comprise this Pokémon's entire body. If battling dulls the blades, it sharpens them on stones by a source of water that they are usually found by. Pawniard is skilled in fighting and stabs its foes with its bladed hands. Pawniard live in packs and are governed by Bisharp, who gives them orders. When a pack meets prey, Pawniard will allow their leader Bisharp to perform the finishing attack. They fight at Bisharp's command, following every order to the dot, the way a Knight would to a King. They cling to their prey and inflict damage by sinking their blades into it. No other Pokémon documented so far has the same typing.

Shadow was fast and quick and he would be perfect to use against this Steel/Dark Type Pokémon. His fire attacks would make this match fast and clean. If he played it right, he wouldn’t take a lot of damage. “Use Will-o-Wisp and combine it with Flamethrower! Hit it hard. Remember, we got to do this quick in order to get to Mindbender faster. Don’t use too much energy because we’ll need it for whatever is lying ahead.”

Shadow jumped forward, readying himself for battle. I had Shadow since he hatched from his egg. He was my starter Pokémon and he’s been by my side since. Shadow was by far my strongest Pokémon, both battle wise and in power. He didn’t look it, but he could sure pack a punch. I remembered back to when I first got him, it was one of the happiest times of my life. I had went to the nearby hatchery to pick out my first Pokémon as an egg. My father knew the owner so he let me pick whoever I wanted.

“Are you sure this is the egg you want?” A tall muscular man said. He had a small Aipom on his shoulder who was taunting me by making faces and sticking out his tongue. I looked at the small black and red egg and nodded.

“I can’t explain it, but something is drawing me to this egg, calling me towards it. It’s like we’re meant to be.” I explained. “I know this is the one.” When I touched the egg, I could instantly feel the warmth flow into my body. The warmth gave me a sense of security. A flame was also created in me that day, the same flame that still burns in my body today. The first day I noticed Shadow’s egg beginning to hatch, I never took my eyes off of it. It took a couple of hours for him to hatch. Some hatchlings were instantaneous, but some, like Shadow took a while longer to hatch. The moment Shadow was fully hatch I could see great potential in him. Maybe that was the feeling all Trainers got with their Pokémon, but I knew Shadow was special. The first battle Shadow was in he easily won. Granted it was against a small Lotad, but for it being his first battle it was a big accomplishment.

I looked back at the battle field; Shadow was getting ready to strike. He bent his legs in a crounching position, ready to pounce. My mind continued to wander. I couldn’t help but to think about Mindbender. I just wanted to know that she was okay. I thought about the first day I found Mindbender. I had got her in a trade for my Miltank. From the moment she joined my team we had an incredible bond. She easily grew attached to me and all my Pokémon. Out of all the Pokémon I’ve used, she is one of the most versatile I had that I constantly used, knowing moves from almost all type. I was shocked when I received her in a trade, it seemed as more of a steal on his behalf. I felt that I got the better end of the deal.

One thing that surprised me was that I had no contact with her at all. I wasn’t used to not having some sort of communication connection with her. I didn’t know where she was or why she was taken. If the Pokémon that took her truly was evil, I wanted to know what he planned to do with her. It just irked me to not know. I was totally blind in this situation. I just had to finish this battle as quickly as I could and move on to find her. Shadow knew the importance of this so he would try to end this fast without accidently knocking out the Sharp Blade Pokémon.

Shadow lunged forward, shooting a large stream of blue and red orange flames. The red orange color was the regular Flamethrower attack burning hot like usual; the blue was the extremely hot flames that caused a burning sensation when it made contact with the opponent. The burn would drastically decrease any physical damage that the opponent dealt which would be what I needed to prevent the Pawniard from doing any real damage to Shadow. Pawniard had great attack, so breaking his attack would be a perfect start. I just had to watch and wait for Shadow's attack to hit and hope that it would do some reasonable damage and would also burn it in the process. I looked down the cave to check if I could see anything else that would give me a quick sign of what was in store, like bones or dead Pokemon. However, I didn't see any of that, instead I could see lights flashing, but I couldn't tell exactly what it was, if I had to guess I would think that it was a small pond or something which would make sense given the fact that there was a waterfall just outside this cave. I wondered what else lied inside this cave besides that beast and this Pawniard.

Cameron seemed particularly interested in the Pawniard. That, and probably because he wanted to find his Gardevoir back quickly. He agreed that he wanted the Pawniard and pulled out a capture device immediately. I was expecting to see either a Park Ball, a Super Ball, or a Hyper Ball, but it was not. Instead of the marsh-green colors; the top of the ball was purple in color, and it had a letter 'M' on the front, along with pink circles on the sides. Although I had read it from his data that he had owned two Master Balls, it was still quite a shock for me when he pulled it out. These balls were extremely rare because they were rumored to have a definite chance of capturing the target Pokemon.

I waited for Cameron to throw his Master Ball since it had a definite chance of working, which meant that he didn't need to weaken the Pawniard. However, he put it away after seemingly thinking for a while. I thought about it and thought that he was probably trying to conserve his Master Ball for rarer Pokemon that were harder to catch. At the same time, he pulled out a Supreme Park Ball, yet another rare capture device that were only given out as prizes in special events, as well as a Calming Fragrance Plus, in the shape of a tiny perfume bottle. From what I saw, he was probably getting ready his items first.

"Alright, I guess I'll battle this little guy. Shadow, you're up. Take precaution," Cameron reminded his Houndoom. The Pokemon looked a bit frightened - a little traumatized from that scream-like roar as well. Cameron seemed to have got lost in thoughts again as his eyes started to go blank - he was probably thinking about his Gardevoir. After a while, he focused his gaze back onto the Pawniard and studied it. Unlike before, he pulled out a Pokedex this time. The mechanical device provided a general summarized information about the Pawniard; empathizing on the Pawniard's ability to fight well with its bladed hands.

"Use Will-O-Wisp and combine it with Flamethrower! Hit it hard. Remember, we got to do this quick in order to get to Mindbender faster. Don’t use too much energy because we'll need it for whatever is lying ahead."

The Houndoom lunged himself forward at the same time as Cameron commanded attacks - they had a high level of coordination. This relationship could only be observed between Pokemon that shared a great bond with their trainers. It crouched down low, and fired a combined attack - a stream of blue and red-orange flames. The vibrant colors were that of a Flamethrower, while the ghostly blue color was of a Will-O-Wisp. It was a fireball-like attack that most Fire- and Ghost-types can learn, and it had the ability to burn the target.

I noticed that Cameron had put quite a bit of thought into his attack. By using a Gentle Houndoom, it was usually ensured that an accidental knock out wouldn't be delivered, because Gentle Pokemon are extremely aware of the target's condition and knows that their trainer wants to capture the target; thus will adjust the power of their attack accordingly. The choice of a Flamethrower was pretty much a no brainier, since Pawniard was a Steel-type Pokemon and thus weak to Fire-type attacks. Using Will-O-Wisp however, was a rather smart move since it not only grants the target a status condition which would help with captures, it also affects the target's physical power - it could no longer attack with as much force as before.

I watched as the attack streamed from Houndoom's mouth towards the Pawniard. Instead of looking scared and serious than before, Pawniard started smiling a bit. It seemed to have lightened up a bit from before - it was probably distracted with the battle. It saw the incoming attack and grinned, before jumping down from the boulder quickly and hid behind it. I started to roll my eyes; I had actually not even thought of that. The boulder was so huge that it took and absorbed the brunt of the attack, and it had no effect to Pawniard - it was safely protected.

Suddenly, it bounced up from its hiding position and its eyes started to glow in a luminous green. Without any warning at all, two blades of grass shot out from beneath Houndoom's feet and quickly bound Houndoom's mouth shut, as the grass tied into a tidy knot itself. It was Grass Knot. The Pawniard started giggling and I straight away knew Pawniard's nature. This nature was particularly distinctive. The blade Pokemon dropped down to the ground after that however, as a sudden inferno set itself ablaze on Pawniard. It resembled a tornado of scorching fire. I started to notice the boulder that was hit and it was slightly red. The Flamethrower must have heated up the boulder so much that the Will-O-Wisp was able to surround its power around the boulder instead. As Pawniard came into contact with the boulder, which already had the effects of Will-O-Wisp, it then became burned indirectly.

Although Houndoom's attack seemed to have been more effective, it was going to be a trouble for Houndoom now. Although the Grass Knot had managed to deal any damage, it seemed like the main purpose of that attack was to muzzle up Houndoom instead. This species of Pokemon relied heavily on their mouths for all kinds of attacks, both ranged and contact, such as Flamethrower and Crunch. It was now being muzzled forcefully and the vines was linked to the ground, meaning that it was also unable to move. I started to hope that Cameron had thought of something to counter that.

Shadow's Flamethrower and Will-o-Wisp combo was reaching the Pawniard. It looked like it was going to be a successful hit. As the Flamethrower approached Pawniard, I could have sworn I saw a sly grin form on the Sharp Blade Pokémon. It pushed off of the rock and leapt behind the rock just as Shadow’s Flamethrower attack scorched the rock. The rock split Flamethrower in half making it go in a ninety degree angle from left to right. Shadow stopped his attack when he saw Pawniard take cover. What the Pawniard did was pretty smart, it Protected itself by taking cover behind the rock to prevent it from taking any real damage. Shadow’s Flamethrower left the large rock scorching a deep orange color. That showed exactly how hot and powerful Shadow’s flames were. Usually rocks took a long time to heat up, and would only do so at a certain temperature, but Shadow managed to do it within matter of seconds.

This Pawniard was just as sneaky as the Zorua. Now I would have to train more than one of these types of Pokémon. It was going to be tough training them both, but I wouldn’t give up on them. If anything, it gave me a challenge to help me train better with them. I had a feeling I could straighten them out. I knew if this Pawniard was like Zorua then this battle was going to be hard and I had to watch out for whatever it was going to pull on us. I was ready.

As I had guess, the tricks started. Pawniard jumped onto the rock, eyes lit green. I felt a slight rumble in the ground as grass shot out of the ground and quickly and wrapped around his mouth, tightly keeping it shut. Shadow let out a muffled cry as he tried to paw it off. It would have worked, but he was panicking, which was very unlike him. He was probably as worried as Mindbender as I was. I let out a small sigh; I had to calm him down. It was just now that I noticed he, like the Pawniard, was affected by the creature whose roar we heard echoing through this cave. I just hoped it wouldn’t affect him too much in this battle. I needed him calm and focused like he normally was.

“Calm down Shadow. I’ll help you through this.” I called out to him, hoping it would calm him down. “Try and claw it off, its grass so you should be able to.” I wondered if it would come off. I mean it was just grass; it shouldn’t be hard to take off, especially since Shadow had sharp claws. I saw him begin to mess with the grass. I just watched and hoped he'd pull it off before the Pawniard attacked.

“If that works, use Flamethrower again. This time if it goes behind the rock, bend your flames.” I called out. I knew Shadow could get that off of his mouth, I just had to worry about whether or not Flamethrower would hit the Pawniard this time. I imagined a stream of flames coming out of his mouth and slowly curving around the rocks and hitting Pawniard. It was just a thought, but I would sure like to see it in motion. It would take a pretty skilled Fire type Pokemon to pull that off, but Shadow was capable of doing it.

I looked down at my Supreme Parkball and Calming Fragrance Plus. Then, I realized I had the fragrance. If Shadow did manage to break free from that bond, I would release the fumes from this bottle to quickly stun the Pawniard from moving by making it completely relaxed. If that worked then Shadow could get in a hit which would help us capture it and move on. I carefully unscrewed the cap and readied myself to release the contents in the bottle when Shadow began to attack. I knew this had to work.

Joe watched as Ataro grabbed a pair of pink dolls from his bag and toss them towards the two Pokemon. Both of them grabbed the dolls and slowly walked away in the other direction. Joe smiled before walking away with Jay and Ataro. As the group walked deeper through the valleys, Joe started to hear another gushing sound, familiar to the one he saw when he encountered the pair of Poochyena. As he walked around the corners and bends, the sound of flowing water became louder. Then as they turned around a corner, Joe marveled at the huge overhanging waterfall. The sound was louder and Joe couldn't hear himself think. Joe reached into his backpack and removed a pair of yellow earphones. He should of worn these when Jay's Galvantula started to use Bug Buzz.

There was a small path that lead towards a lake where the overhanging waterfall met. The water crashed against the rocks and then calmed out. Joe knew this was a hot spot where strong and rare Pokemon like to hang out. Joe looked ahead and started to stare at the two Pokemon drinking from the lake. The small black bodies reminded Joe of a certain Pokemon. Then as Joe began to examine it he noticed it was the Pokemon he was thinking of.

Joe whipped out a small red notepad and started to scribble down some words. He started at the fox-like and started to draw the Pokemon. He started with the body and started to trace the elegant shape of the Pokemon. Then he started to add in some features like the mischievous mystic blue eyes that stared at you causing you to feel cold. The small tufted tail that waggled side to side showing happiness or that it wanted to play. The large scruff of fur that erected from it's head tipped with a dark blood like colour. Joe raised his head from the notepad and noticed the two Zorua's slowly strut towards them. They both smiled relieving two snow white fangs that sparked fear into the enemies eyes.

However there was also one more thing that was interesting about Zoura. That is it's ability, Illusion. Zorua's are most know for their mischievous attitude and also for changing its form into any Pokemon nearby. It is almost like a Ditto however this Pokemon is a rare species and only found in certain areas. Joe wanted to come to Meteor Valley to capture a Zorua. When he found out his friend Jay also wanted to capture a Zoura, Joe started to get to work about how he was going to get one and what to do when he dose find one.

As Joe lowered his notepad one last time, A loud ringing sound appeared from Ataro. Ataro quickly grabbed his mobile and answered it. Joe watched as Ataro facial expression changed, when he received his call he was smiling at the two Fox Pokemon and then when he answered the call, his face became worried and also he started to stutter with his words. Could it have been Cameron? I wonder what had happen

"Is something alright Ataro?" Joe asked his ranger. By now Ataro didn't reply and started to frantically glance around the area. He looked to his left and noticed a large cave with a mound of debris blocking the entrance. Then he looked up towards the waterfall. Joe looked up as well noticing a perched platform near the edge of the waterfall. Then out of the blue Ataro said, "Snorlax, I think I know where you are! Try firing a short burst of Ice Beam into the air!"

By then Joe had a idea what was going on. Snorlax was ordered to look after Cameron as they walked through the park, as Ataro was busy watching the battle between Baltoy and Abra. Joe started to guess that the call was from Snorlax explaining that something bad has happened, which could explain why Ataro facial expression changed dramatically. Then as Joe was thinking, a crystal beam launched into the air. Joe had been correct that the beam appeared at the top of the waterfall.

"I'm below the waterfalls!" Ataro shouted through the phone. Joe completly forgot about the two Zorua's and glanced around to check if they still were there. They were there still drinking the fresh water in the lake. Suddenly Joe noticed a small dark dot appear in the distance. Joe began to wonder what it was then suddenly as it gradually increased Joe realized it was a shadow. But what of?

Moments later a Snorlax suddenly appeared in the sky and started to float in the air. It was covered in a light blue aura, exactly like Ludicolo when Abra used Pyschic on him. The large Pokemon suddenly landed on the floor with a loud crash. Joe wondered if this was Ataro's Snorlax or if it was a wild one. Just as he thought that, he remembered that Snorlax do not live in these area's they are more suited to Botanic Gardens. Then a large bird flew across the sky and started to fly towards them. It looked like a person was being held by the huge brown bird. As the bird landed Joe noticed that the person was Cameron and that the bird was he Aerodactyl.

"Okay Snorlax. Good work! I want you to take over Joe and Jay for me, while I will take Cameron into the waterfall," Ataro said to the Snorlax. Joe thanked Ataro and walked towards the pair of Zorua's. He grabbed a small ball from his belt and held it firm in his hand. Then he tossed it towards the ground and yelled out, "I need your help Krook"

A white flash appeared before Joe and then a large Crocodile like Pokemon appeared. He stood on his back legs and stared at the small fox-like Pokemon. Joe always knew that if he was to fight a Zorua he would use Krook. They do say that you should fight a mischievous Pokemon with another mischievous Pokemon. As the name suggests, Krook is a trouble maker and most Krookodile's are. Their signature bandit-like mask matches the eyes of Zorua's. They spark fear into the enemies eyes.

"Alright Krook, be careful, your opponent has the ability to transform into anything around you. It even can transform into you or even Snorlax. I trust you can do this. Let's start things off with Toxic and then use Bulldoze. Be careful!"

However as soon as Joe said this he noticed the small Zoura smile and slowly walk up to Joe and leaped into his hands. Joe started to stroke the small fox Pokemon. It looked into Joe's eyes and looked adorably cute. Then Jay said pointing at the heart of the waterfall, "We could go with you up there towards that other trainer. I'm sure it would be easiest for us all." Joe nodded it would be the best call, but then he looked down at the Zoura.

"What about Zorua?" Joe asked Jay

"The Zorua can come too," Jay replied. Joe looked down and the small Zorua and started to play with it's tuft of hair on the top of his head.

"These passageways are all interconnected no doubt, I'm sure at least one of them will bring us up there." Jay said to the group. Joe grabbed Krook's Pokeball and returned the huge Crocodile Pokemon to it's ball. Joe placed the ball in his belt and followed Jay and Snorlax.

Joe stood in front of the towering waterfall that sent water crashing down into the lake. How are we going to get through there. There was no possibility that we could just simply jump through it, the sheer force alone would kill us. Suddenly Joe glanced across to his left and noticed Snorlax causally yawning. Joe lowered Zoura to the floor and then grabbed a couple of PokeBall's and tossed them into the air. Three Pokemon stood before Joe. On the far right was his Ludicolo, covered in a purple oozing liquid. Joe wanted to keep Ludicolo in his Pokeball for the rest of the expedition however now was the chance that he need him. The other two Pokemon were Machamp and Gallade.

"Alright Jay, I have an idea. Taco is going to use Waterfall up the waterfall. When she reaches the top, She is then going to create a large iceberg to stop the water flowing for a certain amount of time. Then she is going to scale the waterfall and meet us at the bottom. Then when the water has split, Machamp and Gallade will throw us into the cave, any objections?"

After finalizing the plan Joe walked over to Taco and withdrew a small healing potion from his backpack. He sprayed Max Potion over Taco wounds but he still knew that it wouldn't heal the toxic. After patching up Taco, Joe knelt down on one knee and asked, "Do you think you can do this?"

Taco nodded and stumbled over towards the waterfall. As soon as she reached the foot of it, she raised he hands and placed them on the waterfall. Soon the ice cold water falling down completely covered her hands. Now she was one with the waterfall. Joe shouted towards her, "Alright now use Waterfall!"

Suddenly Taco propelled up the waterfall at blistering speed. It was quiet impressive what an injured Ludicolo can do. She darted through the waterfall and suddenly rocketed out of the waterfall, as soon as she reached the top. With a sudden crash Ludicolo quickly took position at the top of the mountain, awaiting the next order.

"Nice job Taco, I want you to use Ice Beam to create an iceberg to part the waterfall" Joe shouted at the top of his voice so that Taco could hear him.

Joe couldn't understand the gestures of Ludicolo but noticed a large crystal white rock erect from the top of the waterfall. As soon as the rock appeared, the water below started to split, like a knife cutting through some butter. Joe noticed a small cave appear on the cliff face. He knew that Cameron and Ataro had ventured into that cave.

"Great job Taco" Joe shouted, he grabbed Taco's Pokeball and pointed it towards her. However there was a slight problem, the red beam couldn't reach the water Pokemon. Joe had another idea. He turned around to Gallade and asked, "Gallade, use Teleport up towards Taco and then Teleport back down."

Gallade nodded and crossed his blade like arms and disappeared out of sight. In the distance, Joe noticed Gallade on the top of the waterfall holding onto Taco. Within moments after teleporting, Gallade teleported back to Joe's side. Joe turned around and started to pat Taco's back, "You done a great job, now time for some rest."

Joe grabbed Taco's ball and returned her. Then he turned towards the group and said, "Alright, Machamp, I want you to throw people into the hole and Gallade, I want you to Teleport people and Pokemon into the hole."

Joe ran towards the base of the cliff and waited for the people to arrive. As soon as the arrived, Joe watched as Gallade picked up both Zorua's and teleported into the cavern. Machamp picked up Snorlax, with some difficulty, and launched the 460kg Pokemon through air and into the cavern. Joe reached for his belt and grabbed both Machamp and Gallade's Pokeballs.

    "Good Job"

After giving the two Pokemon our newly-purchased Pokedolls we continued to head down the steep passageway. It lead deeper and deeper into the base of the mountain and the crashing sound of the waterfall was really loud by this stage-- almost deafening. We rounded a sharp corner and we appeared out onto a beautfil natural lake that looked like it hadn't ever being seen by humans. There was hundreds of caves that came out of the rock faces on the four sides of this valley. There was a huge waterfall before us, pouring torrents of clear serene blue water into the lake relentlessly. There was one large opening about fifty feet up one of the rock faces. It looked like a miniature little area for rarer Pokemon. I don't know why it caught my attention, there wasn't anything too special about it as far as I could tell.

"Rua," a curtly voice growled and I looked down to see two near-identical looking jet black foxes looking up at us. They both had fluffy puffed-out tails with a magnificent scarlet tip. There fur also had several grey patches and they had large happy eyes. I couldn't help but smile at this Pokemon. I knew that this was a Zorua-- two infact. They were among one of the rarest Pokemon in the whole world and I knew that I had to get one. They were also extremely cunning so I knew I'd have to be pretty careful with this guy.

If my memory served me right they had a very unique and mysterious ability, Illusion. It allowed this Pokemon to disguise themselves as other Pokemon as a form of camouflage. This is the main reason why their species wasn't discovered for such a long time. I knew that when these creatures changed form into a Pokemon that they had seen before, the resemblence becomes uncanny, making it near-impossible to tell the difference from Zorua and a real Pokemon. After a moment's hesitation I decided I knew what to use.

"Galvantula, come on out!" I chimed, flinging the dark green ball into the air. Galvantula would be a perfect choice against Zorua for several reasons. It had powerful Bug-type attacks which could really hurt the Zorua being a Super Effective hit on Dark type Pokemon and, it had something much better up its sleeve... well, Pokemon don't have sleeves, whatever. I looked down at my Galvantula. His round and beady purple eyes pierced into the Zorua directly before us. It giggled and rushed forward, incredibly soft tail ticklin my bare skin. I paused for a second. Why would I want Galvantula to hurt this little fellow. I looked over to see Joe petting the fox nearby him and smiled.

There was a vibrating sound and everyone turned to see our ranger, Ataro take his phone out of his pocket. Over the roaring of the waterfall I could hear loud sobbing noises and I knew it was Ataro's Snorlax. Something must be wrong because Ataro frowned a little and looked up at the clearing about fifty feet up that I noticed before.

"Snorlax, I think I know where you are! Try firing a short burst of Ice Beam into the air!" Ataro said, a little panick-striken. There was a bright light of cyan colour from the clearing and we knew then that that was where Snorlax was. Now this was a tough decision for Ataro. Firstly, how was he going to get up there, and secondly, he couldn't just leave us here abandoned. Suddenly a thought came to me.

"Hey," I said, grabbing everyone's attention. "We could go with you up there to try and help that other trainer. I'm sure it would be easiest for us all." Joe looked happy about this decission and I knew then that we should do this. "The Zorua can come too," I said, picking mine up and petting his soft fur. I could see Joe do likewise and I grinned. "These passageways are all interconnected no doubt, I'm sure at least one of them will bring us up there."

"Nope, seems like a good idea," I replied, glancing at the slighlty-distracted Snorlax at the same time.

Taco, Joe's Ludicolo, began to climb up the crashing waterfall, almost immune to the pounding torrent of water smacking him. All the while, Ludicolo maintained an energetic grin. I couldn't help but laugh at how exuberent Ludicolo was-- much like my own in that way.

"Nice job Taco, I want you to use Ice Beam to create an iceberg to part the waterfall" Joe shouted at the top of his voice so that Taco could hear him.

Taco's beak-like mouth opened and I could see an orb of crystaline cyan ice start to form and enlarge inside Ludicolo's mouth. He then sent the beam of ice at the crashing waterfall, slowing down the rushing water as it started to freeze. Within just a few seconds a huge frozen image of a waterfall stood there in front of us. It was a really impressive sight no doubt. Joe took out Ludicolo's Pokeball and when he tried to return the Grass-Water type Pokemon he found out that it was out of the Pokeball's reach.

"Gallade, use Teleport up towards Taco and then Teleport back down."

Gallade crossed his arms over his chest and closed his eyes. A bright blue aura enveloped him and then he disappeared in a flash of dark blue. I saw him reappear moments later by Ludicolo's side, grab him by the waist and teleport back down to the base. Joe then called Ludicolo back and sent out his Machamp. The plan was for Machamp to toss the Pokemon up to Gallade who would then bring them to the cave Ataro was in now. It seemed like a good idea.

"Calm down Shadow. I'll help you through this," Cameron said, after he noticed that Houndoom was starting to panic from the muzzle. "Try and claw it off, its grass so you should be able to."

Houndoom was a four-legged creature, and that meant that if it were to use its claws, it would definitely lose balance. Just as I expected, it fell to the ground, even though that didn't seem to bother it. It struggled with its forelegs as it tried to rip the tightly tied grass that muzzled its mouth. I watched with anticipation as Cameron's Houndoom tried to cut through the grass with its sharp claws.

"If that works, use Flamethrower again. This time if it goes behind the rock, bend your flames." Cameron called out.

The command was a smart one. By telling Houndoom to bend its flames if the Pawniard was to hide behind the rock, it became a backup plan to ensure there wouldn't be any misses. I worried a little however. Firing a Flamethrower was one thing, but controlling the angle and direction of the steam of Flamethrower midway is another. What's more, the Houndoom had to bend it away from the rock just to strike the target behind the rock. I had my doubts about whether if the attack would have managed to work.

Meanwhile, while the Houndoom was still struggling to cut through the grass; Pawniard was done waiting. It jumped in and ran towards the Houndoom without any restraints - it didn't seemed scared of its opponent at all, at least after the muzzle. It went all the way up front to the Houndoom, whom was struggling on the ground - all four paws down, and swiped its knives that it had for hands across the Houndoom's cheek. The blade was extremely sharp and from the double swipe action, a deep cut was produced on both sides of the target's cheeks. The attack even seemed to be stronger since Pawniard had no worries or restraints, since Houndoom could not do anything to it.

The sudden attack that Houndoom received provoked it a little however, and it managed to slice through the grass that was muzzling its mouth. It was visibly hurt from the slash wounds from the Metal Claw attack that was performed using knives, but it simply shrugged it off. It was a well-trained Pokemon. Immediately, it went for the target with a fast Flamethrower; blasting it towards Pawniard at close range. However, the Pawniard managed to leap out of the way, almost just in time, by using its knives to slash onto the ground, creating an impact that allowed it to bounce off from the ground into the air. Though, the close range attack proved fatal, as the flames still managed to strike Pawniard's feet.

It dropped to the ground the second it was hit; obviously taking a huge deal of damage. The Pawniard was extremely worn out now - it didn't seemed capable of much more. A Fire-type attack was super effective on a Steel-type like Pawniard. Not only that, Houndoom was an evolved Pokemon, while Pawniard was only a basic Pokemon, which meant that Houndoom was much stronger. In fact, I felt lucky for Cameron. If the Flamethrower had managed to hit the Pawniard completely, it was almost inevitable that the Pawniard would faint from the impact of that attack.

At the same time, the very same inferno appeared suddenly again. It rose from Pawniard's feet and scorched itself into a wild tornado of fire silhouette around the Pawniard. The burn damage weakened it even more. I looked towards Cameron, as I thought that he would know it's time. Just like what I thought, he was already holding onto his Supreme Park Ball and an unscrewed fragrance bottle - he had already released the soothing smell of the fragrance which would help make the capture easier.

OOC: Ataro, the CC is a bit off. should about 18.5k before this post.

IC: The grass knot was tied tightly around his snout. He knew he had to get it off fast before the Pawniard came in for an attack. I saw him raise his paws to try and cut it off, but in doing so, Shadow fell to the ground. He fell trying to claw the grass knot off because he needed didn't have a good balance. I hadn’t expect that since I had seen him do that many times with perfect balance, but I forgotten that this wasn’t just any situation and that he wasn’t in a totally calm mood. Because of my failure to do so, Shadow lost balance and fell to the ground. Despite that, he was still trying to rip off the vines from his mouth as fast as he could. I looked at him and shook my head. This was all my fault. This whole Mindbender dilemma was clouding my train of thought and my concentration was extremely off. If I didn’t pull it together soon, I’d have more trouble than I wanted.

I saw that the Pawniard got tired of waiting, and I should have expected that. Pokémon, especially wild ones, don’t just wait for you to attack when you‘re ready, they go and attack when they see an opening. I should have anticipated that it would attack. Pawniard charged forward, claws extended as he prepared to slash forward at Shadow. I knew Shadow could see this, and under normal circumstances, he would have just sprung up and retaliated with Iron Tail to send the Dark, Steel type Pokémon flying back and give him enough time to take the vines off. Since neither he nor I were thinking straight, we didn’t come up with that fast enough and Pawniard took this as his chance to do some damage. It struck Shadow hard on the face and I saw him flinch a little. From where I was standing, I could see two deep cuts.

That attacked seemed to get Shadow to focus a bit more and he managed to cut off the grass knot from his mouth, giving him back his Fire attacks. Shadow didn’t waste any time. He immediately rose to his feet and began taking in the air around him. The air expanded his lungs and the organ that fueled his fire attacks. I could see a ball of fire forming in his mouth as he aimed at Pawniard. The Steel Pokémon knew what was coming and squatted down to prepare to jump. It didn’t take Shadow long to create the ball of flames in his mouth

“Do it.” I whispered, and with a small push he exerted a large stream of flames towards Pawniard. The Dark type Pokémon leapt off the ground. It didn’t appear to time the attack right. Shadow managed to scorch its area below the stomach. Pawniard landed on the ground, immediately falling to its knees. I could see that attack did just the amount of damage that I had wanted it to do if not more. Now with that done, the Pawniard didn’t look like it had any more fight left in it.

I took this as my shot to capture the little guy. I quickly expanded the Supreme Parkball by pressing the center button. I stared at it, then at the Pawniard. This was it. It went by a lot faster than the battle I had with Zorua. I was kind of glad for that because I could go look for Mindbender. The thought of her being in pain gave me the chills. I did not feel anything though. Even though I had no communication with her, our bond was strong enough that if something had already happened to her, I would feel it and know about it. Since I felt nothing I hoped that she was alright. As long as I knew that, I wouldn't stop until I found her. I couldn't let anything get in my way.

“It is an ancient Pokémon. A Pokémon thought to have been a new species. A Pokémon that is so evil that even Darkrai was nothing compared to it. All of us are scared of it...” The sound of Zorua saying this ran through my head. What kind of new species was this evil? All the Pokémon in the park were supposed to be wild. It is said that no wild Pokémon is evil, only the influence of a bad Trainer could make a Pokémon evil. Was this an exception to that saying? Was that saying even legit? I sure as hell hoped so, because I knew of nothing that could be that evil. Zorua said it was ancient, but thought to have been a new species. If that was so then perhaps it didn’t count in that saying because it hadn’t been encountered yet. I wish I had some clue of what it was or that Mindbender would just teleport next to me and have escaped. I knew we couldn’t be that lucky. If we were, she wouldn’t have been kidnapped in the first place.

I could hear Shadow’s barking, bringing me back to the battle. He could see that I was distracted and called out to me. I looked at the Pawniard, who thankfully was too exhausted to do anything while I was not paying attention. If he had a bit more energy, this would have gone way worse than I had planned. I looked at my hand and saw the Supreme Parkball sitting here, enlarged and ready to be thrown. This was an incredibly rare Pokéball, you could only get one by either being lucky finding one in stock or win it at an event. I knew I wouldn’t have another one anytime soon and by looking at Pawniard, I knew it wouldn’t take much to capture it. If I was lucky, and I hated saying that in this situation, a Hyperball would do the trick. I put the Supreme Parkball back into my back and pulled out a red and black Hyperball. I quickly pressed the center button.

Then I had an idea. This Pawniard lived in this cave. I had to know what that creature was. Pawniard and his friends must be terrorized by this Pokemon. If that was the case then maybe this little guy would see that I am only trying to help. Maybe if he saw me fit as a Trainer he'd see that we have a shot at taking down this Pokemon, so I decided to give him a chance to join me. I slowly walked over to the Pawniard, I didn't want to startle him. I knew he could still attack me, but I wanted to ask him if wanted to join my team and help me take down whatever took Mindbender. I knelt down next to him and looking him in his eyes.

“You want to come with me and help me take down whatever is in the cave?” I asked it. “You might be scared, but if we stand up to it, it may leave you and your friends alone and stop terrorizing the Pokémon that live in this area. So what do you say? I could use your help in this matter. I have a feeling you know exactly what that Pokémon is and I’d like to know. I can also heal you up back to health in just minutes.” I extended my arm and held the Hyperball in front of him. I hoped he’d join me to find this creature and save Mindbender. Then we could be lifelong friends.

    ---

Cameron pressed the center button of the Supreme Park Ball, and took a quick glance at it, then at the Pawniard. He seemed to have got lost in thoughts again - probably thinking about his Gardevoir - until Houndoom started to bark. The sudden bark snapped Cameron back to reality. He took a final look at his capture device, but suddenly put it back into his backpack. Instead, he pulled out a red and black Hyper Ball, and quickly pressed the center button.

He probably thought that he should conserve the usage of a rare capture device like the Supreme Park Ball, for those were extremely special Park Balls created to commemorate events. They were only distributed very sparingly among specific lucky trainers once in a blue moon. I thought that Cameron had made a good choice anyway, for the differences between that of a Supreme Park Ball and a Hyper Ball wasn't much, at least when we're talking about this capture here. He started to contemplate again, to which I start to a bit amused. This trainer thinks too much for sure.

After a while, he walked up towards the Pawniard, whom started to back itself away from Cameron, albeit struggling still. Cameron knelt down and looked at the Pawniard straight into its eyes. "You want to come with me and help me take down whatever is in the cave?" he asked. "You might be scared, but if we stand up to it, it may leave you and your friends alone and stop terrorizing the Pokémon that live in this area. So what do you say? I could use your help in this matter. I have a feeling you know exactly what that Pokémon is and I'd like to know. I can also heal you up back to health in just minutes."

Once he was done, he extended his arms and held out the Hyper Ball. The Pawniard stared back at Cameron blankly; I couldn't even tell what it was thinking, for its face had a mixed variety of emotions. After a while, he nodded his head and suddenly beamed a smile, and knocked his head against the button of the capture device, initiating the opening of the Hyper Ball. The device opened up, and released a red beam which enlarged to surround Pawniard as a silhouette, then sucking it back into the Hyper Ball. It locked shut immediately - it was a successful capture.

"I'll leave it up to you. For the Pawniard I mean. I would assume you would want to heal it and let it out of the Hyper Ball now to proceed together? If so, you can keep the Hyper Ball, just for this time," I said; making an exception for this situation. Once I finished my statement, the cave was pitch black all of a sudden. The ember lights that Houndoom was giving off was put out, and a chilly wind blew from within the depths of the cave.

    "... Who are you!?"

I jumped up at the sudden voice of a mysterious creature. The voice was deep, and it had a certain growl in it. There was something risky about the voice, as if it had malicious intentions; partly because of the creature's roar that echoed throughout the cave walls. I decided to stand up. After all, this was in the Park, I didn't believe there would be anything that terrifying.

"I am Ataro, and I am a Ranger from the National Park. We are on a Park expedition, when suddenly, a mysterious creature emerged from the waterfalls and grabbed my trainer's Gardevoir. We ... Wait!" I paused suddenly, "Don't tell me you're that creature?"

"Hmm, I guess you don't sound like a person with bad intentions," the creature said calmly.

Then, the ember lights on Houndoom ignited themselves again, and we could see the cave just like before. In front of us, stood the silhouette of a black, shadow-like Pokemon - Darkrai. I gasped at the appearance of a legendary Pokemon. However, more importantly, I started to feel the sense of fear and doom, because Darkrai is rumored to be an extremely evil Pokemon. A Pokemon so evil that it is capable of causing people to have unending nightmares; as it is so bad that some people are even rumored to have never ever woken up since.

"... Please don't feel fear. I know what you are thinking. Contrary to popular belief, I am nowhere as evil as you think I am. As for the nightmares that I sometimes induce certain people into, it is because they need it. Nightmare is a form of escape from troubles. It allows people to vent their kept feelings and emotions. Unfortunately, once they're put in a nightmare, I am sometimes unable to snap them out of it. This power restriction is unknown to me. That is why, I always have Cresselia to help me chase away the nightmare once I'm complete. And as such, people start to think that I am the evil one, while Cresselia is the good one. But in fact, we are both very good friends." The creature said, but continued quickly before we could even respond. "I really need your help. I know who took away Gardevoir, and I can help you to a certain extent, but you'd also have to help me. The Pokemon that I need you to help, and the Pokemon that you need me to help, are the very same Pokemon. It's Golett."

The Darkrai paused suddenly, at an awkward dramatic silence. I didn't know what to respond, but we were pretty much forced anyway. We needed to bring back Gardevoir, and since Darkrai knew the way, the only way would be to have it lead us to the Golett. I'd suppose the legendary Pokemon was waiting for some sort of a reply, to which I decided to leave it to Cameron to answer. I started to question about how evil could Golett even be. From what I knew, Golett was a dual type; Ground- and Ghost-type Pokemon, and the appearance of this Pokemon appears to be based off a golem. It is also only recently discovered, being a new species of the Unova region as well.

However, from what the Zorua told us, it was an ancient Pokemon. Could it mean that there was a possibility that Golett had existed far longer that we thought it had? I had so many burning questions, but they would only be answered if I get the chance to ask Darkrai or Golett themselves.

Pawniard finally smiled and nodded after several moments of thinking it over. With his head he pressed the center button and went inside. The ball didn't even shake, it just instantly remained still. I picked up the Hyperball and looked over towards Ataro. I knew he was going to have to hold onto the ball, but he seemed to be reading my mind because before I could ask to hold onto it, he answered my question.

"I'll leave it up to you. For the Pawniard I mean. I would assume you would want to heal it and let it out of the Hyper Ball now to proceed together? If so, you can keep the Hyper Ball, just for this time," He said. I didn't even get a chance to respond because once he finished talking, the cave went pitch black.

"... Who are you!?" A deep voice said. It was well hidden in the shadows so I couldn't see who was speaking. A cold chill went down my back as I wondered what we were up against.

"I am Ataro, and I am a Ranger from the National Park. We are on a Park expedition, when suddenly, a mysterious creature emerged from the waterfalls and grabbed my trainer's Gardevoir. We ... Wait!" Ataro paused suddenly when he realized something, "Don't tell me you're that creature?"

"Hmm, I guess you don't sound like a person with bad intentions," the creature said calmly.

Then, the ember lights on Houndoom ignited themselves again, and we could see the cave just like before. I stared at the creature in front of us. Darkrai. I felt defenseless because this Pokemon could easily put us to sleep and create horrible nightmares in my head for an eternity.

Golett? I thought to myself. I hadn't heard much about this Pokemon, but I knew it was a Ghost type Pokemmon. If it was ancient, what sort of power did it posses. I pulled out my camera and snapped a photo of Darkrai.

"I'll help you. If I get out of this with all my Pokemon and I'll spread the word of your true nature." I replied, bringing out two Pokeballs. "Come on out Powerglide and Kickback. You too Pawniard." The three of them emerged from their holding containments. "I said I'd heal you so Kickback, use Heal Pulse on Pawniard, Powerglide, you use Heal Bell." Kickback nodded, creating a pinkish purple aura around him as he moved closer to Pawniard. Powerglide did the same thing, but the aura was green. I waited for Pawniard to heal back up. I turned to Darkrai.

"As soon as he is healed, lead the way and we'll deal with this Golett." I said.

    Ranger Snorlax

    ---

I watched my trainers as they started to pull out their Pokeballs to release their respective Pokemon for battle. From Joe's Pokeball, a crocodile Pokemon appeared and I recognized it as a Krookodile - an extremely stupid name. Somehow, there was something on its face that spelled mischief and naughtiness. From Jay's Pokeball, an electric spider Pokemon appeared and I had recognized it as a Galvantula. I suddenly realized that both Pokemon the trainers are using are Pokemon from the Unova region; Pokemon that were only recently discovered. It was obvious that all four of these Pokemon were rather naughty as they were all giggling wildly, which started to freak me out a bit, for I was the only Pokemon that was the most normal here, both literally and type-wise.

"Alright Krook, be careful, your opponent has the ability to transform into anything around you. It even can transform into you or even Snorlax. I trust you can do this. Let's start things off with Toxic and then use Bulldoze. Be careful!" Joe commanded, to which I had a quick deja vu thought of Zorua transforming into me earlier.

However, as Krookodile started to get ready to attack, the Zorua on the left started smiling and walked up to Joe slowly instead. It then took a quick leap into Joe's hand, to which the trainer responded by stroking the Zorua's fur. ... What an attention seeker. It continued to show off its trickiness by looking into Joe's eyes with puppy eyes; begging for attention and sympathy.

"Hey," Jay suddenly said while pointing towards the heart of the waterfall; grabbing everyone's attention. "We could go with you up there to try and help that other trainer. I'm sure it would be easiest for us all."

Joe seemed to think that it was a good idea as he nodded in agreement. Though, he started to have second thoughts as he looked at the creature in his hands. "What about Zorua?" he asked.

"The Zorua can come too," replied Jay. He picked his Zorua up and started petting and caressing the Zorua's soft fur as well. "These passageways are all interconnected no doubt, I'm sure at least one of them will bring us up there."

Joe seemed to be quite prepared as he quickly took out Krookodile's Pokeball and returned it, while Jay hasn't did the same. He either forgot about it or perhaps he had other plans. He took the lead and stood in front of the towering waterfall pondering I figured he was thinking of a way to get through to the waterfalls. I wasn't quite focused on what we had to do, since I was worrying about it myself. It was supposedly a dangerous place since it was never explored before, but truth be told, I was curious myself. There seemed to be a weird power which attracted me so much, that I found it too hard to resist. At least if Ataro were to scold or reprimand me later, I could just say the trainers made me do it. I started to giggle at the playful thought. After a while, Joe was still thinking, and I started to yawn out of boredom.

Suddenly, he lowered Zorua back onto the ground and took out three Pokeballs. All of them opened and released the Pokemon within it; revealing a Ludicolo, a Machamp, and a Gallade. "Alright Jay, I have an idea. Taco is going to use Waterfall up the waterfall. When she reaches the top, She is then going to create a large iceberg to stop the water flowing for a certain amount of time. Then she is going to scale the waterfall and meet us at the bottom. Then when the water has split, Machamp and Gallade will throw us into the cave, any objections?" he asked.

"Nope, seems like a good idea," replied Jay. I could almost see him taking a slight glance at me; he was probably thinking about what was on my mind. It was weird to have a Pokemon for your ranger anyway, I guess.

Joe then walked over to his Ludicolo, and took out a bottle which contained purple liquid in it. I had recognized it as a Max Potion from the label. He proceeded to spray it over his Ludicolo's wounds, then knelt down on one knee and asked his Pokemon, "Do you think you can do this?"

The Ludicolo replied by nodding its head without any second thoughts and walked over towards the waterfall. I figured Joe must have knew a Max Potion wouldn't be able to cure Ludicolo of its Toxic status, but he had no choice but to restore as much health point as possible instead, since he had no Full Heal. The Ludicolo stood in front of the crashing waterfall, and raised its hands. As it started to relax its mind and let the flow of the waterfall rush through its hands, Joe suddenly shouted - "Alright, now use Waterfall!"

Once the command was given, the Ludicolo propelled itself up the waterfall with a sudden rush of speed. She scaled the waterfalls within mere seconds, ignoring the opposite currents easily. "Nice job Taco, I want you to use Ice Beam to create an iceberg to part the waterfall" Joe shouted loudly. Then, the Ice Beam created a large crystal rock-shaped figure which started to separate and split the flow of the waterfall into a diversion. Judging from the currents and force of the waterfall, the rock wouldn't last there for long, and it was only a matter of seconds before it would be shattered into bits. They had to make it fast if they wanted it to work.

"Great job Taco!" Joe shouted again, and grabbed Taco's Pokeball; pointing it towards the Ludicolo. However, the distance was far too much for the red beam to be able to reach the Ludicolo. Not that it mattered, since he simply ha dhis Gallade use Teleport to bring the Gallade back down. With a quick zap, the Gallade disappeared and reappeared beside the Ludicolo, then disappeared once again, before reappearing right beside us. Joe then turned around and patted Ludicolo's back and praised it, before returning it to its Pokeball.

"Alright, Machamp, I want you to throw people into the hole and Gallade, I want you to Teleport people and Pokemon into the hole."

I started to sweat drop. Did he just said throw? I had no time to react as Joe had already starting running towards the base of the cliff; leaving us to catch up with him. Once we all reached the base, Gallade picked up both of the Zoruas and used Teleport to get into the cavern. I could see them directly opposite of us. The Zoruas started giggling again and I quickly found the reason of their giggles. Machamp was behind me. It mumbled some complains and lifted me up, albeit with some difficulty, and quickly threw me towards the cavern with all of its might. I felt like a ball, or actually, more like a boulder, being thrown and completely helpless. I landed with my butt on the cold hard ground hard. Though, it wasn't quite painful, to which I figured my super thick amount of fats probably helped to cushion out the pain completely. I got up and realized that the spot that I had landed on had a huge indentation on it; the marking of my butt. Meh.

Then, the others arrived after being thrown by the Machamp as well. The Pokemon were quickly returned to their Pokeballs after the praises and all of that. I figured my role would be to lead them into the cave, even though I knew nothing about it, but it was pretty much self-explanatory since the direction was only one-way. However, we were stopped short as two silhouettes started to approach us from within the shadows. I heard the echos of purring and as they walked out from within the shadows; the pair of Purrloin stared at us curiously.

After we had all reached the cave above the waterfall we all looked somewhat flustered and I sighed. There was some stalactites haning down from the ceiling and some stalagmites shooting up from the floor-- well they would be shooting up if the features hadn't taken hundreds, if not thousands of years. I heard a deep purring noise from the shadows.

    "Loin" something cried, almost seductively.

    "Wut.."

Out of the shadows crept two purple leopard-like Pokemon. Creeping along stealthily.

"Oh," I said, feeling my face grow red with embarrasment. "Eh, I don't really want either of these. Do you, Joe?" I asked him, hoping he would say no and we could explore more of this cave.

Joe turned around and watched as the shape of the waterfall slowly returned. With the sound of gushing water behind them, the group and Joe started to march on through the cave. As they were walking down the cave, Joe noticed some stalactites hanging down from the ceiling and some stalagmites erecting up from the floor. They must have been hundreds or thousands years old to reach the height they are at now.

As they continued ahead, a small echo rang through the cave. The sound was a familiar sound, almost like he has seen one before. The sound got louder and louder, and eventually Joe managed to work out what the sound was. It was like a cat purring, however the sound was muffled by the sound of water dripping down from the stalactites.

"Lion," the voice got louder and louder until a small shadow appeared in the distance. Joe walked closer to the shadow and remembered where he heard the voice from. It was the first Pokemon he saw on this expedition, a small mischievous Purlion. The olive green eyes stood out in the dark damp cave. Its head is large proportional to its body, and tufted at its ears and cheeks stood out. It gave a small smirk before licking her paw.

To Joe's surprise, another Purlion walked out of the shadows and walked towards Jay. Both feline Pokemon sat before two trainers. Jay was the quickest to react and said, "Oh, Eh, I don't really want either of these. Do you, Joe?"

Joe was in a daze, he kept staring at those olive green eyes, almost like they were hypnotizing him. Joe quickly shook his head and said, "Nah, I don't really want one of these," hoping that they could continue through the cave.

After Joe said that, he looked down to his left and made sure that Zorua was still there. Zorua looked up at Joe and smirked. There was something strange with this Pokemon.

I waited for Cameron to respond to Darkrai's plead, to which he promptly pulled out his digital camera and snapped a photo of the legendary Pokemon instead. I couldn't help but sweat-dropped at the awkward action of him doing that when we're amidst something serious, but Darkrai didn't seem to mind. "I'll help you. If I get out of this with all my Pokemon and I'll spread the word of your true nature," Cameron then replied. He followed up by sending out three of his Pokemon - Togekiss, Slowbro, and Pawniard.

"I said I'd heal you so Kickback, use Heal Pulse on Pawniard, Powerglide, you use Heal Bell," Cameron said, not forgetting his promise to his newly captured Pawniard.

The Slowbro nodded promptly, and started to emit a lavender pink aura around its body; it moved closer towards Pawniard at the same time. Togekiss followed suit, except that its glow was of an emerald green instead. "As soon as he is healed, lead the way and we'll deal with this Golett," said Cameron. As soon as he was done with that, the Pawniard's wounds seemed to have patched up magically. It emitted a glorious radiance of new life as it did a few cutting actions in the air with its knives-hands to show that it was more than ready to fight for its trainer.

The Darkrai automatically led us forward once it saw that Pawniard was ready. It led us deeper into the cave, and it wasn't really that difficult; considering it was an one-way path. As we walked, I noticed that it had started to get considerably warmer, and I started to wonder about how far have we traveled since we stepped into the cave. The walk wasn't quite tiring, as the ground were mostly smooth surfaces, with no sudden bumps or ridges. It seemed to have lead towards a downwards direction however. Minutes later, we reached an intersection.

There were three holes in the wall that we were facing - two of which were on the far ends of the wall, and they led deeper into the cave. The middle hole however, was simply an opening in the cave which led to a dead end - I could see it because the path was extremely short. To my surprise, Darkrai floated towards the middle path instead. Then, as we reached the dead end which was reflected by a curved surface of the wall, I waited for Darkrai's next course of action.

"This is a secret entrance," it said. The Darkrai's cold attitude was starting to get to me, as I started to feel an odd sense of creepiness lingering inside of me. It followed up by firing an orb of dark energy towards the wall from its cupped hands. The Dark Pulse was blasted towards the wall and as it made contact, it expanded immediately and covered the entire curved surface with a silhouette of dark energy. I watched in shock as the Dark Pulse seemed to have bind itself with the wall, because the energy started to seep into the confines of the concrete wall instead. Once it was fully absorbed, the wall started to dissolve and what was remained, was only a translucent imagery of the original wall. "We can enter now."

I took my next few steps with extreme caution, because it was simply unusual and scary to walk through walls. As I took my first step through the wall, I managed to step over the boundaries and I started to worry if the wall would suddenly turn solid and trap me in it. I quickly hopped over to the other side at the same time with Cameron, as Darkrai waited for us patiently. As soon as we crossed it successfully, the translucent image started to get more and more opaque and within seconds, it had turned into the solid wall that it was before again.

The next ten or twenty minutes of walking was filled with boredom, as we continued to walk inwards - the path was one-way again. It had gotten much darker than before, and even with Houndoom's torches, our area of vision was greatly limited. Suddenly, Darkrai came to a sudden halt. In front of us, was nothing but a throne chair. I tried to see what was sitting on it, but all I could see was the faded silhouette.

"Golett, I've bought friends to help you out of this," Darkrai said calmly, although I had almost felt the slight tinge of sadness in its voice.

The Pokemon then jumped up from its seat and was on top of us. We looked up and saw the Golett. It was my first time seeing one in its true self, although it did looked somewhat different from the pictures that I had seen. It still resembled a golem, but instead of the usual bewitching yellow eyes; its eyes were of a crimson red. On noticing further, I had spotted that there was a device on its chest; and it too was flashing red.

"Look out!" Darkrai suddenly shouted. Cameron and I quickly fell to the ground face-flat, as the shadowy aura of Golett's hands was fired towards us. We managed to dodge the attack by just a slight centimeter, and the Golett recovered its position by standing back onto the ground - in a fighting position, sa the gray trail that connected the flying fists to its original fists lingered around in the air. "You'd have to defeat Golett. I want you to capture it. It needs all the care that it can have after all it had gone through, and I believe anyone of you will be responsible enough to do that. The red device on its chest is the object that is mainly controlling Golett's rogue-like actions. I tried to get it off myself, but I couldn't bring myself to harm my friend in the midst of removing that thing via force.

"Cameron, I would assume you do want the Golett anyway right?" I asked, as I turned around to face my trainer. "Oh my g-, look over there!" I exclaimed immediately, and pointed towards the direction that I was facing.

Cameron turned as well and there was Gardevoir. It was unharmed, and still intact, but remained trapped inside within a globe of purple dark energy. It had a slight look of worry on its face - probably worrying for its trainer, to which I started to wonder if they could communicate telepathically. Though, the look on their faces was telling me the opposite instead. It was possible that the barrier had the ability to block psychic powers.

"Don't worry about your Gardevoir. It's fine. If you want it back, you'd have to capture Golett so that you could get it to reverse the effects of that barrier facade," Darkrai said.

"This is a secret entrance," Darkrai said, using Dark Pulse to blast a hole in the wall. "We can enter now." We just continued walking down the cave path, which was incredibly dark even with Shadow’s flames. Then we came across a throne chair in a small chamber. I could see something sitting in the chain, but it wasn’t clear enough for me to identify.

"Golett, I've bought friends to help you out of this," Darkrai said calmly. The Pokémon jumped up from its seat and was on top of us. I looked over at Mindbender. I could see her there, but I still had no communication with her whatsoever. I wanted to just walk over to her, but I wasn’t sure what the Golett would do. I knew for sure I was going to have to battle it, but I figured it was going to be before I got her back.

"Look out!" Darkrai suddenly shouted. Ataro and I fell to the ground, the attack missing us by mere centimeters. "You'd have to defeat Golett. I want you to capture it. It needs all the care that it can have after all it had gone through, and I believe anyone of you will be responsible enough to do that. The red device on its chest is the object that is mainly controlling Golett's rogue-like actions. I tried to get it off myself, but I couldn't bring myself to harm my friend in the midst of removing that thing via force.”

"Cameron, I would assume you do want the Golett anyway right?" Ataro asked, "Oh my g-, look over there!" He said, pointing behind me.

I looked at the bluish green golem. Looks could sure be deceiving. He looked like a small harmless robot. The only thing that looked intimidating was its dark red eyes. How could this Pokémon possibly be evil in any way? Then again, I knew nothing about it so I couldn’t say anything for sure. He had brown strap-like bands that covered his most of his body. In the center of those straps was a blue square with a yellow swirl in the center that was barely visible because of the flashing red device on its chest. I wasn’t sure what it meant, but I knew it couldn’t be anything good based on what I was hearing about this Pokémon. My guess was that it was some sort of ancient language and that there was a slim possibility I could get this deciphered. I knew a scientist back near the Ruins of Alph or the Solaceon Ruins. If I wanted to find more information on this guy, that was going to be the best place to start. I knew a couple of scientist there that studied the ancient ways and could perhaps be of some help in my research. I had not even captured Golett yet and I was already planning what I was going to do with it. I always get ahead of myself. First I’d have to train him to be good. Steer him away from whatever evil forces are causing him to behave this way.

“Why did you kidnap her?” I asked. “What is it that you want from her, or from us? Or do you just love to see things suffer? Whatever your reason is, I’ll stop you and get her back.” I figured I wasn't going to get an answer from it so I didn't wait. I quickly went over my team and who I was going to use in this battle. To do that, I was going to have to know a bit more about this creature. I pulled out my Pokédex to see what more information I could gather.

Golett, the Automaton Pokémon – Number six hundred twenty-two. They are part Ground and part Ghost. They weight around two hundred pounds and are just about a meter high. The energy that burns inside it enables it to move, but no one has yet been able to identify this energy. These Pokémon are thought to have been created by the science of an ancient and mysterious civilization. How they came about to making this Pokémon is still unclear. Some say it’s a type of magic, while others believe in the science. These Pokémon have not been studied thoroughly enough for a more accurate reading.

I went through the information I already had to pick out which Pokémon would be best to use. Terrosaur would be good since he couldn’t be hit by Ground type moves, but in a cave it would be harder for him to fight. Cybershock was also a good since he was immune to Ghost type moves, but he still had the wound from earlier. Both Kickback wouldn’t do too well since Ghost moves were super effective against him. Shadow for the same reason, except he would more than likely knock out the Golett from vengeance, and I wanted to capture the guy. It seemed odd that I would want to capture the Pokémon that kidnapped my Pokémon, but I felt I had to. The last one I could use was Powerglide. Using her would be perfect because she was immune to both its Ghost and Ground type moves that it was surely going to use. However, she had the same problem I had with Terrosaur. It was a cave, so I was going to have to watch out when doing maneuvers.

“Powerglide, you’re up.” I said, tossing her Pokéball in front of me. The Jubilee Pokémon that was usually cheerful just glared at the Golett and awaited my orders. “Start off with Shadow Ball, when you see an opening, send off Yawn.” Powerglide began creating a ghastly orb of black energy that gave off small sparks of blue electrical energy. The orb was about the size of a basketball. Powerglide sent the orb flying at Golett at a pretty fast speed. Then she quickly moved around it and began creating a small cloud of toxins that would slowly cause the Golett to fall asleep. Once that went down, if it played out correctly, Golett would be in the clear to take one more attack and then I would capture it. Of course though, I knew it would not be that easy. I had to just hope that it would go well. I knew Powerglide would perform well since she, as well as I, wanted the safe return of Mindbender.

"Oh," Jay said awkwardly. "Eh, I don't really want either of these. Do you, Joe?"

Joe seemed to be in a daze however, as if he had a train of thoughts in his head. Suddenly, he snapped out of it and quickly shook his head to respond towards his partner, "Nah, I don't really one of those." As soon as he said that, he looked down to his left and checked if Zorua was still there - I guess he was worried that the Zorua would run away. The Zorua looked back at Joe however, and beamed a playful and mischievous smirk.

The Purrloin that was closer to Jay started to walk away, seemingly not interested in Jay as well. However, Joe's Purrloin was not the case. The primarily purple-colored feline Pokemon seemed to have gotten annoyed with the trainer's actions. It raised its tail up high and yellow sparks started to surround it. Suddenly, with a blazing flash of speed, it released a thin stream of electricity that shot towards Joe's Machamp in a rocket missile-like type of speed. I had recognized the attack as a Thunder Wave, and it had the ability to paralyze its target upon contact.

I looked at Machamp, and it was indeed paralyzed now. The yellow sparks sizzled and crackled around its bulky body, as it seemed to have flinched from the sudden rush of static electricity in its body. The Purrloin giggled teasingly - something was telling me that it was using a special ability called Prankster. Just as I was about to comment on this, another figure appeared from within the shadows. As it walked up to us gracefully - it was actually yet, another Purrloin. From its graceful action, which was comparatively different as compared to the other one that had gone, told me that they were not the same Pokemon.

"Uhm, seems like it's another Purrloin. I doubt you guys would want it. So do you want to try running away again, or perhaps use a Pokedoll?" I asked.
