Main RP: Meteor Valley

Cybershock miscalculated the battle scenario. He didn’t account for Zorua passing though paralysis. Cybershock now had a large gash in his back area. It looked really bad, so having him continue in battle would be careless, stupid, and heartless of me. I would never have my Pokémon fight when they were injured, I didn’t want anything bad to happen to him. I had to get him healed up fast before this got more serious that it already was. After I left the park I was going to have get him into the emergency room and get him healed up properly.


“Cybershock, stand down and use Recover, heal your wounds.” I called out. “Shadow, help him out.” Cybershock teleported near Shadow and began glowing a bright white color. That was the first step in Recover. “Okay Mindbender, you’re up.” I tossed out her Pokeball. A bright light flashed and a magnificent green humanoid Psychic Pokémon appeared from the Pokéball. Her elegant ballroom looking gown swayed gracefully from side to side as she waited for me to instruct her.

“What do we have here?” She asked telepathically as she examined her opponent.

“A Zorua, and it is full of tricks.” I informed. “You can’t let your guard down at all. It may be paralyzed, but it can still pull off whatever trick it has up its sleeve. It is looking very tired, so attack it lightly, but do enough damage for me to capture it. We might try and put it to sleep after this; I want it to be a successful capture on the first try.” She nodded, acknowledging that she understood.

“I can take care of that then.” She smiled.

I wanted to start off with Hypnosis, but I was going to hold off on that until I got it at a much lower health. Right now Zorua was parlayed, so it wasn’t that fast despite the speed boost it got. I wasn’t sure what move I should use. I had so many choices, but only a few that would do a little damage. Right now that is what I needed, a move that did just a bit of damage. Psychic moves wouldn’t do any damage, so those were out. Focus Blast, if it hit, would knock the little Pokémon unconscious and according to park rules I couldn’t catch Zorua if it wasn’t conscious. I could either use Icy Wind, or Magical Leaf. Since I wanted to try and burn it, Icy Wind was out.

“Use Magical Leaf, Mindbender.” I called out. “Don’t hurt it too much like I said.” Mindbender nodded and used her psychic abilities to lift nearby leaves off of the ground and began sharpening them. Then she launched them at Zorua. The little guy looked exhausted, but I knew he still had some tricks left. Wasn’t sure exactly what, but I wasn’t letting my guard down for a second. If this went well, I could put it to sleep and throw a Hyperball to seal the deal and move on. There were a few more things I wanted in this run. I hoped I could find a Golett or Solosis. Elgyem would be cool too, but I was really glad I ran into this Zorua. So far this run was going great. I ran into an Abra, saw Victini, got a Snorlax as a Ranger, angered a Deino family, and ran into a Zorua. It was definitely one of my best runs yet.​

"I will have my Kangaskhan protect us from the effects of that Bug Buzz," The Ranger said. He quickly pulled a small Pokeball from his bag and chucked it towards the ground. A large white flash appeared right before Joe's eyes and nearly blinded him. He quickly raised his hand to his face and protected his eyes from the light. Seconds later the flash slowly dimmed down and Joe gazed upon the Pokemon standing beside him. Joe was always jealous of Ataro because he always had cool and interesting Pokemon. Kangaskhan quickly obeyed it's master and created a light green aura that surrounded the group. At least this time he wouldn't become deaf by the Bug Buzz.

Joe was hoping that the Trick Room effect would end soon, it was this that was causing a lot of problems for Taco and Joe. Taco started to run forward towards the Baltoy and opened his mouth again and produced the same coloured ball as last time. However Abra moved first and suddenly his black coloured eyes turned into light blue. Joe quickly noticed that Ludicolo was suddenly surrounded in the same colour as Abra's eyes. Before Joe could do anything Taco was lifted straight into the air.

Now it was Galvantula turn and Joe quickly held his hands over his ears. The small yellow bug Pokemon quickly opened his mouth and produced circle waves. The waves grew bigger the further they were away from Galvantula, and hit both Baltoy and Abra. Suddenly the light blue aura surrounding Taco disappeared and Taco was sent crashing into the ground. The attack that Taco had been charging up had now disappeared, however he was now getting ready for the next attack.

Taco raised his arms in the air and slammed them down on the floor. As soon as the hands of Taco made contact with the ground, a large Wave appeared right in front a made it;s way towards the wild Pokemon. However just as the wave was about to make contact, Ludicolo fired a small thin light blue beam towards the wave. The whole wave suddenly froze as the beam hit the running water. There was now a huge wall between both sides. Joe smiled as he had already thought what he was going to do, "Taco, power up a Energy Ball and use Brick Break to shatter the wave, then quickly fire the Energy Ball towards Baltoy. Hopefully it won't miss"

Joe knew that this battle was soon over and he grabbed a small Parkball from his side bag and held it firm in his hand. As soon as Taco had performed the attack, Joe would catch this Baltoy once and for all.

Ranger Ataro

The trainers started to fumble with items being taken out from their bag and pockets. They were getting ready for a capture. Jay had already held on to his Hyper Ball, a capture device that had more strength that a normal Park Ball. He had also called back his Galvantula, probably because of Toxic. Meanwhile, Joe continued to give his last command for the battle.

"Taco, power up a Energy Ball and use Brick Break to shatter the wave, then quickly fire the Energy Ball towards Baltoy. Hopefully it won't miss," Joe said.

Unfortunately, I had a feeling that the power of Energy Ball would be reduced by about half. I continued to watch as the Ludicolo's fists glowed in a flash of white, and it moved forward to pummel down the ice shield into ice shards that rained down on the field, just like a temporary hail. The sharp crystals seemed to have hurt the Pokemon a little as all of them cowered in pain. Ludicolo recovered faster however, and immediately fired its charged up Energy Ball towards the Baltoy once the ice wall shattered. Just as I had expected, it didn't have enough time to lock in its target.

The orb was released at a shaky speed and took a while to reach Baltoy even. As it reached, Baltoy didn't had enough time to dodge since it was cowering from the ice shards, and took a little damage from the Energy Ball. However, that seemed to have been enough for Joe.

Both of the trainers raised their arms; Joe and Jay grabbing onto their Hyper Ball and Park Ball respectively, and threw the capture devices in a synchronized motion. The spheres opened up upon contact with the respective Pokemon - Baltoy and Abra, and the balls started to shake on the ground repetitively. Eventually, both of the orbs came to a decisive halt, signaling that the capture was completed successfully. I walked over and picked both of the orbs up and reminded them, "As per Park rules, I will be helping you guys keep these Pokemon as we carry on the expedition."

I proceeded to lead them towards a cave-like area. There were rumors that a Groudon resided deep within the Meteor Valleys, but I had no idea if that was true or not. After all, it was just another old legend. Regardless, we were inside the Meteor Valley caves. Pokemon in here were known to be much stronger. For what they lacked in strength, they made it up in terms of unity and number.

As if to prove my point, a duo of Poochyena had appeared. They started to produce a 'meowing' sound and started to scratch seductively in mid-air. How bizarre. I managed to choke out my question, "... Seems like both of you encountered a Poochyena each. Interested in it?"

Ludicolo charged up a second Energy Ball and brought his fist smashing forward and into the wall of ice. It cracked at first before breaking up into hundredsof smaller pieces. Ludicolo shot the Energy Ball and I saw Joe reach for his Park Ball. He tossed it at the same time as I did and the two Pokemon were sucked inside the balls. The balls gradually grew to a halt and I smiled happily. Ataro started to tell us about how he'd have to keep the Pokemon with him for now.

We began to continue walking after Ataro stored the Pokeballs and we came to a grassy field at the base of the mountain. Two rabid Poochyena were growling at each other. I took a Pokedoll out from my backpack and tossed it to one of the Poochyena so they would stop fighting and we could move on.

 

"As per Park rules, I will be helping you guys keep these Pokemon as we carry on the expedition." Our Ranger said. Joe was happy anyway, he finally caught that little bugger. It was causing Joe a lot of problems but finally it was over.

Joe followed Ataro into a deep dark cave. Rumor said that a Groudon lives deep down in these caves, however to Joe's knowledge he knew that Groudon can be seen in Mt Deckbi. As they walked into the caves, two small Poochyena appeared from no where and produced a strange noise. It sounded like the cry of a cat. Something was strange.

Joe turned around and watched Ataro struggle to produce a sentence "... Seems like both of you encountered a Poochyena each. Interested in it?"

"Nah, Ill pass, but I will be safe and use a PokeDoll" Joe said as he grabbed a small pink doll from his side pocket and chucked it towards the meowing Poochyena. Werid. Joe then grabbed the PokePlayer and pressed the play button on the top. Hopefully he will encounter a Zoura.

The look of concern on his face reminded me of Ataro. They would only reveal their true sides when they were faced with extreme conditions. "Cybershock, stand down and use Recover, heal your wounds. Shadow, help him out," Cameron said.

With that, the Porygon-Z teleported itself towards the area where Houndoom and I were spectating from. Truth be told, I saw no usage for Teleport at all. If Cameron had asked it to walk over here, it would probably reach in a matter of seconds. I suppose it had something to do with the wounds, I guess. Shadow got up from his resting position and went over; trying to help and support Cybershock with its head. Once it had settled down, it started glowing in a luminous blue color while shutting its eyes. It was in the midst of using Recover. Unlike usual conditions, this wound would take quite an amount of time to even lessen the pain of the wound.

If it was to be healed and patched up, it would need a professional care, at the Pokemon Center. Cameron seemed to have knew that however, only making Cybershock use Recover to try and ease the pain. "Okay Mindbender, you're up," he suddenly said, while tossing out a Pokeball. A humanoid Psychic-type Pokemon emerged from within, and her movements when she entered the battle were no different from all of her other comrades. All of them had the same nature ... what a boring trainer.

I looked at them as they started to communicate telepathically. Even though I had no Psychic powers, even an idiot could tell what they were doing. That was what I liked about Ataro, he didn't use a Psychic-type Pokemon, or at least yet. These people are such copycats. All of them just use a Psychic-type Pokemon and converse with them telepathically like emotional bastards. Heck, they're no different from cannibals that came specially to hunt, since they pretty much abstained from conversation. Eventually, Cameron finally started to speak.

"Use Magical Leaf, Mindbender," he said. The Gardevoir nodded her head and her eyes started glowing in a magenta hue. She was concentrating on her psychic abilities. Almost immediately, the nearby leaves on the ground were lifted up and sharpened with an invisible force. Without warning, they were blasted towards the Zorua, whom didn't seem to have made any move just yet. Taking it in its stride, Zorua didn't even bother to move. Instead, it began a familiar attack pattern yet again. Its eyes started to glow and a forcefield started to appear. Soon enough, the cave started quaking violently yet again.

The Magical Leafs were about to strike Zorua, but the shock waves produced from the forcefield was starting to accumulate up and the power from it was released abruptly. The half shattered ground was completely destroyed now, as they ruptured and were slammed towards Gardevoir from the sudden force of a high energy output by Night Daze. The Gardevoir was obviously overwhelmed by the force of the impending crash and sent back flying instead. I stood up to attention yet again. This time, even Houndoom had followed me. In fact, Porygon-Z even stopped using Recover. For, Gardevoir was thrown off the platform and flung into the raging tides of a fierce waterfall.

I watched on worriedly, hoping Cameron would have some kind of a solution. The slope was too steep for a Pokeball's signal to reach it, and that also meant that other Psychic-type Pokemon couldn't even lift the Gardevoir up with Psychic, because they cannot even see till the Gardevoir. She herself was also unable to use Psychic probably, considering she was already struggling from the sudden purge. There had to be something they could do.

The two trainers were obviously not interested in the Poochyenas, as they responded in monotone replies. Both of them decided to just throw a Pokedoll, probably to save time and ensure a definite successful escape. Once the dolls were thrown, the Poochyena quickly hopped onto it and sat onto it, refusing to move. I had always knew different Pokemon reacted differently with Pokedolls, but this was probably one of the weirdest of them all.

We continued moving forward, where the distinct sound of a waterfall could be heard. We could jolly well be on the other side of a waterfall. Judging from the sounds, there was a good chance we were at the bottom of a waterfall. Suddenly, just as we were about to turn around a bent, we were stopped short as a pair of Pokemon appeared in front of us.

The Unown was wavering around in mid-air. It seemed to be lost, or rather, it seemed to be looking for something. A Cleffa suddenly appeared and hopped in joy - it looked quite happy to have seen a Unown. They probably knew each other. I continue watching as the Unown tried to keep a distance from the Cleffa, whom continued to follow persistently.

IC: The leaves floated towards Zorua, but the creature seemed unmoved. Instead, it began to use Night Daze again. The Magical Leafs was about to strike Zorua, but the shock waves completely destroyed them, along with half of the ground. The waves continued on and hit Mindbender, sending her flying back off of the platform and into the waterfall. I had to think of something fast before something bad happened to her. I was going to have to use my other Pokémon to help me out with this. I just wasn’t sure what to do. However, in situations like this, I remembered to stay calm. Freaking out and over thinking things wasn’t good to do because it didn’t let you explore all your possibilities.

I was going to have to find a way to stop the water from falling on her. I was going to have to part the waterfall in half which should stop the water from falling on her and fall off onto the sides. “Come on out Terrosaur, you too Kickback.” I quickly said, tossing their Pokéballs in front of me.

A large, red and black hermit crab shelled Pokémon emerged from the sphere. He was just a larger version of Slowpoke, but with a large shell on his back. I found it weird how a Shellder could bite onto a Slowpoke’s tail and cause some sort of reaction that causes Slowpoke to evolve into a Slowbro. I mean, is it really evolution if the Slowbro will revert back to Slowpoke if the Shellder stops biting its tail. I never understood it. It was the only Pokémon that did that, as far as I was aware of anyways. The large Water type Pokémon yawn, looking back at me and then over to the raging waterfall. A ferocious, prehistoric Pokémon shot out of the Pokeball and landed right next to Kickback. He roared loudly, revealing his sharp, saw-blade-like fangs. He looked over to the waterfall. He opened his wings and took flight, his triangular-shaped tail swung violently back and forth as he impatiently waited for my command.

“Alright, Terrosuar, I want you to use Stone Edge on towards the center of the waterfall. Send about three or four large stones. Kickback, I want you to freeze the rocks together, creating a small bridge. That should cause the water to fall off towards the sides and give Mindbender enough time to break free. Assuming that worked, then I’d have her use Hypnosis if she was still willing to battle. Terrosaur slammed into the ground and unearthed four large stones that he launched with incredible power at the waterfall. Kickback began cooling the air around him to launch the Ice Beam attack as soon as the rocks were in place. Ice Beam would quickly freeze the rocks and stop the water from falling.

I tried to connect myself with Mindbender to see how she was holding up. “Are you okay?” I asked stupidly, but telepathicly.

“Yeah, I just can’t move.” She responded. I’m using my psychic powers to lessen the fall damage of this waterfall, but it’s so strong it’s taking most of my energy to do and I can’t move because of that.

“Well this should set you free from that.” I assured, “Are you still willing to fight Zorua?”

“Of course, I’ve got to get it back.” She replied. “As soon as I’m free I’m using Hypnosis.”

“Yeah, that’s a good idea.” I answered. “With that being done, I should be able to catch it soon.

She began saving her energy. For the moment she broke free, she was going to send a shock wave of hypnotic waves towards the Zorua. She wasn’t messing around. I pulled out a Calming Fragrance Plus and released the sent towards Zorua. I hoped that the scent would calm it down as the name suggested. I just wanted it to be calm enough so that Mindbender could easily but it to sleep. After this my Hyperball should be ready for the capture.

I was getting a bit tired of these games, but I knew I only had to put up with it for a while longer. Here in the park at least, once we started training though, that was a totally different subject. I was going to train it to only use its tricks when necessary or on my command. Only then will I be able to use it in battle successfully. ​

 

Joe watched the pair of Poochyena's tear apart the small Pokedoll. After seeing them tear the doll apart they then leaped onto the doll and sat on it. Joe was slightly confused but carried on.

As the continued to walk further down the cave, Joe heard the sound of gushing water ahead. Intrigued to find out what it was, Joe sped ahead of the group towards the gushing sound. Within moments Joe gazed out towards the huge overhanging waterfall. Then suddenly out of nowhere, two Pokemon appeared in front of Joe. Ataro said to Joe, ""Well, interested in these?"

"Nah I am fine lets escape" Joe said to Ataro

He spoke, "Come on out Terrosaur, you too Kickback," and tossed their Pokeballs quickly. With these two last Pokemon, he had just used his entire team to fight with this Zorua. Or at least, sort of. A large, red and black hermit crab-shelled Pokemon appeared, seemingly dopey and stupidly oblivious to its surrounding. At this point of time, Cameron seemed to be lost in thoughts. The worst, I don't even think he was thinking about the Gardevoir, for he seemed to be in a trance while gazing stupidly at Slowbro, as if he was admiring it. If I were Ataro, I'd have screamed at him for sure. This was not the time for that at all.

"Alright, Terrosaur, I want you to use Stone Edge on towards the center of the waterfall. Send about three of four large stones. Kickback, I want you to freeze the rocks together, creating a small bridge. That should cause the water to fall off towards the sides and give Mindbender enough time to break free," he said, while facing towards the fossil Pokemon and hermit crab Pokemon.

From how I visualized it, it might or might not work. The rocks would be sent crashing down, some touching the waters while some not. Then, an Ice Beam would be able to freeze the rocks due to the drenched rocks, and thus connect them from the stream of water, creating an improvised bridge. I had no idea what he was thinking. Perhaps, he simply thought too much. He could probably just have Gardevoir use Teleport to get back up, or even get Aerodactyl to catch the Gardevoir. I couldn't blame him though. He was in a state of panic anyway.

"Cameron is asking Mindbender if it's okay. MindBender has confirmed that she's alright, except she can't move and is free falling downwards," Cybershock mumbled to Shadow and me. It was telepathy. I started to sweat drop a little at that comment. Mindbender sure was calm enough to even project her thoughts to her trainer when she was in trouble. "Um, Cameron is asking if Mindbender is still willing to fight Zorua, and Mindbender agreed to use Hypnosis once she got up," Cybershock continued to mumble.

What!? This trainer is crazy. Real crazy. The Gardevoir hasn't even got up successfuly, and he was already thinking of how to battle the Zorua. I started to think, while frowning at the thought.

At the same time, he pulled out a bottle-like item, which I recognized as a Calming Fragrance Plus. It was an item that would weaken the target, according to the type of fragrance used however. It didn't weaken the target in the sense of health, but rather its energy; a term which wasn't commonly known among rangers. He had already held on to a Hyper Ball in his hands, readying to throw it for a capture anytime. He looked to be a little annoyed while staring at the Zorua; he was probably tired of the tricks that Zorua was playing throughout the match already.

Meanwhile, I watched as Slowbro produced the stream of Ice Beam from his mouth, which froze the rocks from top to bottom. Cybershock started to project an image which showed us Mindbender's condition, to which Cameron started to turn around and look as well. Gardevoir was still falling along with the rocks tumbling down, while the Ice Beam was traveling at a rather rapid speed. We all watched as we reached the critical moment, where Gardevoir would fall on the last piece of rock boulder and thus, saved from the fall. However, instead of landing on it, she missed it just by a centimeter. The rocks were too close to the edge of water.

Suddenly, from the projection, I witnessed a ghostly figure. It was a dark silhouette. The initial tiny silhouette enlarged to a huge figure of a creature within mere seconds and emerged out from within the waterfalls. All of these were in a flash. It happened way too fast to identify anything. I watched in shock as the blurred image of it snatched Mindbender with a fierce grab and jumped back into the waterfall. I started to worry in anxiety. This was something that I had never seen before. And worst, it was an unknown creature which had kidnapped and taken off with my trainer's Gardevoir. Cybershock's projection shut off without warning as well, and it started to express shock at it. Something was preventing us from locating Mindbender, or that creature itself. And, we had no idea where it went, other than that it jumped into the waterfall. On the bright side at least, to forcefully comfort ourselves, Gardevoir was saved from that life threatening fall.

Zorua snapped me out with a sudden pitched cry. I had no idea if it felt terrible for causing Mindbender to get kidnapped or what, since it saw the projection too, but the voice of its cry was really much more annoying than the voice disk itself. I started to feel sorry for it unconsciously, as did the entire party of Pokemon of Cameron's. I stood there helpless, as I continued to watch it cry, tearing away like a spoiled tap.

As we tossed the Pokedolls at the Poochyena, they did something very unexpected. They both jumped on top of the Pokedolls and sat there, completely unmoving. Usually Pokemon play with them or rip them to shreds. Weird. Then, we decided to keep on walking through the twisted passageways in the cave. I could hear a deep rumbling sound from the other side of the wall. It might he evwn been a waterfall.

After a little while we came to an open spot. A Cleffa and an Unown in the shape of the letter q were staring at us. I took out a Pokedoll and tossed it because neither of us were overly interested.

 

I was getting quite annoyed. The ‘good luck’ that I was having was now turning into crap. First I had run through three different Pokémon, each taking damage and getting hurt in some way. This Zorua was causing much more trouble than I was prepared to handle. Then, Mindbender gets trapped in a waterfall and right when we’re about to free her, something comes out of nowhere and snatches her away. My head was now throbbing. I took several deeps breaths to calm myself down. I usually didn’t get this worked up, but this Zorua was something else. It was going to take a lot of training to get this Zorua in battling mode.

“I don’t know what the hell is going on anymore. The hell with all this, Kickback use…” I stopped myself. Battling with a cluttered and unfocued mind wasn’t going to get my anywhere. If anything, it would only make my Pokémon get more hurt and I couldn’t have them taking any more damage for my mistakes. I took several more breaths and thought my next steps though. I hadn’t had this much ‘excitement’ in a long while, nor did I want any at this moment. Right now this was overbearing, I had to gain my cool before more bad stuff happened.

“Alright Powerglide, you and Terrosaur search the area.” I called out.”Find anything you can on that creature and Mindbender. If she contacts you, let me know immediately.” The large prehistoric and egg shaped Pokémon nodded. They didn’t question anything I said, they knew the importance of this situation. Terrosaur took off north and Powerglide south. Terrosaur had excellent vision, so him and Powerglide searching the area would sure have some results. I just hoped this wasn’t anything too crazy, I didn’t want anything bad happening here and not knowing what was going on was irritating me. I returned my focus back to the battle at hand. If I focused here and captured it then perhaps it could help me find whatever creature took Mindbender. It had to know something on it since it was living in this area.

“Alright Kickback, use Yawn and follow it up with Shadow Ball.” I called out. “We have to capture it, it might know something about that creature that took Mindbender.” Kickback nodded. He took in a deep breath and let out a small cloud. I never analyzed the contents in this cloud, but I guessed that it had some sort of toxin that caused whatever came in contact with it to fall asleep. After he did that he formed a large ball of ice in his mouth. From that ball of ice, he'd shoot out a beam of ice that would hopefully freeze the Zorua if the Yawn attack didn't put it to sleep before. Either way, the Ice Beam attack wouldn’t do much damage to Zorua, but that’s exactly what I wanted. With lower health, I might have a chance to capture it if this went well. If not, I would have to withstand more of its trickery. I wasn’t sure how much more I would take. Right now I just wanted to find Mindbender and the creature that took her and get this Zorua on my team. Once that was done I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be here anymore. The recent events that took place in this park trip was too much for me to have to deal with, especially since I was here for more of a vacation that this. At least I knew what to expect for next time. I looked into the sky to see if Terrosaur or Powerglide were coming with news, but nothing so far.​

The two of them shook their head boringly, obviously not interested at those things. I noticed Jay pulling out a Pokedoll from his bag to throw on the ground, but Joe was empty-handed. He was trying to escape. We tried to walk off, and I managed to sneak a peek behind. The Unown was already hovering off with the Pokedoll in its hand, but the Cleffa started to follow us instead. It was not letting us escape.

I waited for Joe's next course of move; whether he would use a Pokedoll this time or try to escape again. As I was waiting for him to make his decision, the Unown came hovering back with yet another Unown instead. I couldn't resist and started laughing off mildly, amused at the situation.

Joe watched as Jay threw a small pink doll towards the floating alphabetical letter. The small Unown picked up the doll in its hand and slowly floated away into the distance. However the small Cleffa still sat still. Maybe it was jealous of the fact that Unown had a Pokedoll and it didn't

Joe reached over into his bag and grabbed some green paper. He handed over some money to the Ranger and asked for a Pokedoll.

"I don't know what the hell is going on anymore. The hell with all this, Kickback use…" Cameron stopped myself. I started to feel overwhelmed with a series of emotions. This was no longer a jolly mood for anyone. Cameron seemed like he was in a bad mood, with all of the events that had happened so far. Zorua was playing really hard to get and Gardevoir seemed to be in some kind of grave trouble; there was no telling what would happen. I needed to get Ataro here.

"Alright Powerglide, you and Terrosaur search the area," he called out. "Find anything you can on that creature and Mindbender. If she contacts you, let me know immediately," and Cameron's Pokemon nodded. He seemed to have calm down enough for more delicate decision makings. The Aerodactyl and Togekiss took off north and south, although they eventually just flew down to the waterfall, since that was the place where Gardevoir last disappeared. Porygon-Z tried to project its projection again, and it seemed to work. The weak materialization of an illusion started to appear, and expanded to form a rectangular projection which showed Terrosaur and Powerglide circling around the waterfall's edge. They didn't seem to have much luck.

Cameron returned his focus back to the battle, and he looked even more determined to capture Zorua now. Just perhaps, he thought that Zorua might have an idea about what just happened since it was living in this area after all. "Alright Kickback, use Yawn and follow it up with Shadow Ball. We have to capture it, it might know something about that creature that took Mindbender," to which Kickback nodded.

Zorua would have moved first usually, since Slowbro was an especially slow Pokemon, just like how I am slow myself. However, Zorua's speed was greatly affected by the paralysis and it moved so slow that Slowbro had a chance to strike first. He released a pink gas that formed into a small cloud, which floated silently over to Zorua. That was a Yawn attack, and it had the ability to put the target into a drowsy state, so much so that it would almost fall asleep the next turn. The Zorua was so engrossed in its Fake Tears attack, that by the time it raised its head, the Yawn bubble struck it. It didn't seemed to have knew what just happened, but started swaying around drowsily.

Zorua started running towards the Slowbro, about to strike it with a counterattack, but halted in its movement suddenly instead. The sparks around it started to materialize and crackle; Zorua was too paralyzed to move this time. Slowbro was already ready for its next move however, and released a thin stream of Ice Beam towards the Zorua whom had no ability to dodge at all. I suddenly recalled that Cameron had called out for a Shadow Ball, but the Slowbro had used Ice Beam instead. I wasn't surprised that Cameron had called out a wrong move, since his mind was really preoccupied at the moment. Slowbro probably knew that and used Ice Beam instead, since it was definitely a superior choice over Shadow Ball on a Zorua.

Cameron looked up into the sky, to see if his Pokemon had found anything, but it wasn't too optimistic. The Aerodactyl and Togekiss were circling around in the skies, unable to find any clues at all. Meanwhile, the Zorua was looking really tired now, this would be a excellent time for a capture.

I decided to call Ataro at this time. This situation was a kind of emergency, so I thought that it'd be appropriate. I remembered Ataro had told me to use his phone to call him if something cropped up. I reached into my fur which was so thick that I managed to hide many things inside. I continued to search through the numerous items; Leftovers, a couple of delicious berries, Ataro's sandwich that I stole, a couple of Pokedolls, and there - the item that I was looking for, Ataro's cellphone. I took it out and it was quite an old phone; it had many scratches on it already. Regardless, I tried to punch the redial option on the phone so that I could call Ataro easily, but my huge fist punched all of the numbers instead. I decided to try again, and this time, I used the tiny claw that was sticking out of my paws and strike it onto the redial button which had a phone image on it. The sound of number beeps started to resonate, as I waited patiently for him to answer.

The Zorua had finally stopped in its tracks and felt the full effect of being paralyzed. It didn’t appear to notice that Yawn hit it, either way it was going to fall asleep soon and I was going to be prepared to capture it when that time came. I didn’t want Kickback attacking the little black creature anymore. Yawn was going to take its tool soon enough. Hyperball in hand, I moved closer to the Zorua and waited for the right time to come.

“Kickback, I don’t want you attacking anymore.” I called out. “If Zorua does launch an attack at you, just use Protect.” Kickback would combine his psychic powers to create a strong force field in front of him that would usually deflect any attacks that come his way. The Zorua didn’t have much energy left, so I readied my arm to throw the Hyperball. I was sure this would be a successful capture. All I had to do was watch out for any of its trickery, if I did then I would be in the clearing. I still had Mindbender on my mind. Finding her was going to be a bit of a problem. I couldn’t even see who kidnapped her so it was going to be tough finding out where she went. A question I had though was why it took her. It didn’t really make any sense, and the only way I’d find out is by finding who took her. I just hoped it she wasn’t in any danger in any way. This Zorua had to know something about that thing that took it. Perhaps it was just an illusion, but I couldn’t be too sure.

I saw the Zorua yawn again and knew it was about to fall asleep, so I took the initiative to throw the Hyperball. I watched it soar through the air, it appeared to be right on target.

The Unown accepted my pink Pokedoll and gave a little happy squeak as ot fluttered away like some form of a Butterfree. Cleffa on the other hand started squawking at us and it charged forward, glaring at Joe. Perhaps it too wanted a Pokedoll. Out from the clearing I saw another Unown advance. I sighed and the two trainers pulled out some money to buy Pokedolls from our ranger, Ataro.

"Let's just move on because we aren't really interested in these two Pokemon," I said forlornly. I was really hoping we would have encountered some rarer Pokemon by now. The day was still young so we still had another while yet.

They decided not to simply try their luck running away this time. They reached into their pockets and took out 500 bucks each, and handed it to me together - they wanted to use a Pokedoll each to ensure a perfect chance of escaping. I took out the pair of dolls from my bag and handed it to them, whom quickly threw it onto the ground. They left and didn't bother us anymore.

We continued moving deeper into the valleys and turned around the corners. As I had suspected, it was indeed a waterfall. The water crashed downwards into a huge lake violently. There was probably a higher chance to encounter stronger Pokemon here, since the harsh area meant stronger Pokemon, since they needed to be able to adapt to this harsh surrounding. Just as my cellphone started to ring, the two trainers met their next encounters at the same time.

It was indeed a rare species - Zorua. Not only was it rare, it wasn't just one, but two Zorua. They were fox-like Pokemon, mainly slate-gray in coloration with red and black accents on their head and feet. Their ears are triangular with dark insides, and it has a large scruff of fur on its head, tipped with red shades. It also possessed a ruff of black fur around its neck, and limbs tipped with red. They started to wag their bushy tail playfully, and the small fangs of theirs started to appear when they opened their mouths. Zoruas are extremely mischievous and tricky Pokemon, especially so with their special ability - Illusion, which had the effect of appearing as another Pokemon instead.

The Zoruas didn't seem much affected by the voice disks. Unlike usual Pokemon that appear with the help of a voice disk, they didn't seem lost or as if they were looking for something. Something told me that they would have appeared even without the help of a voice disk. "Well, I suppose this is now your chance to shine?" I said, to the both of them. I was pretty sure they were feeling extremely excited now.

I quickly stepped to the side and pick up my call first. When it sounded, I first heard Snorlax's panic cry. Something was wrong. "Snorlax, what's wrong? Where are you?" I asked anxiously. I could hear nothing except Pokemon language, which I couldn't understand at all. Suddenly, Snorlax managed to say out a few keywords.

"Trainer ... Pokemon ... lost ... ghostly figure ..."

From those words, I managed to decipher out that Cameron's Pokemon could be missing. The question was, how though. How could his Pokemon got missing? Unless ... the last phrase meant that a ghostly figure had taken off with Cameron's Pokemon? I needed to understand more. I needed to get right over to Cameron. I quickly asked Snorlax for his location, but for the first time, started to hear the sound of waterfall from the phone as well. I turned around and studied the area for any other possible routes, but the area was a closed spot. The only entrance was from the entrance that we had entered, but any farther from here would have made the sound of the waterfall barely noticeable, which was not the case with this.

I started to look up, to which I found my answer. It seemed like a perched platform, and it was also the place where the waterfall was crashing down from. There was an extremely high chance that Snorlax and Cameron were over there. "Snorlax, I think I know where you are! Try firing a short burst of Ice Beam into the air!" I called out, keeping my eye up on that spot.

Within seconds, a sparkling linear crystal formed in the sky, which confirmed my guesses. I started to think however, if I left, there would be no one to ranger these guys instead. However, it might work if I have Snorlax take over for me instead, so it would be like a swap of duty. The point now, was how would I get on top...

"Kickback, I don't want you attacking anymore," Cameron called out. "If Zorua does launch an attack at you, just use Protect."

Upon hearing his trainer's command, he quickly started up a strong force field, which expanded into a huge semi-circular globe. It looked like a complete duplicate of the Safeguard attack that Kangaskhan did, but differed a bit in the way it worked. The Zorua suddenly jumped up, probably about to transform into yet, another illusion, but fell to the ground within the next second instead. The electric sparks around it continued to cackle strongly - a sign that it had been fully paralyzed, and thus couldn't move.

After that, it started to let out a Yawn, still oblivious to what was happening. A pink bubble started to materialize behind Zorua and once it popped, the Zorua collapsed onto the ground - it had fallen into a deep slumber. Cameron wasted no time in throwing his Hyper Ball; he probably wanted to end this quickly so that he could find his Gardevoir back - I could tell that he was very attached to his Pokemon. The capture device flew across the battle field and trapped Zorua within with a flash of red burst. It shook once and immediately locked in; Zorua had put in a little amount to no fight at all.

I walked forward and picked up the Hyper Ball for him, not bothering to explain why I did it, since he was already a Park veteran. I offered him some condolences by putting my paw onto his shoulder.

At this time, I realized that my phone call was answered, as I heard Ataro's voice on the line. "Snorlax, what's wrong? Where are you?" he asked anxiously.

I managed to choke out the few words that I knew, "Trainer ... Pokemon ... lost ... ghostly figure ..."

Ataro didn't answer, to which I assumed he was trying to decipher what I was saying. I almost felt like passing the phone to Cameron so that he could tell Ataro himself, but Ataro suddenly exclaimed, "Snorlax, I think I know where you are! Try firing a short burst of Ice Beam into the air!"

I had no idea what he was thinking. But still, he was after all my trainer, and I would follow his battle commands. At least ... to a certain extent. I gathered the inner strength within my body and fired a weak stream of Ice Beam towards the sky. The power of the Ice Beam was greatly reduced, so much so that while it would still be extremely flashy and bright due to the dark area itself, the Ice Beam wouldn't solidify and would disappear or be condensed into water droplets once I stopped using it.

"I'm below the waterfalls!" Ataro shouted through the phone.

I realized that we needed to get down, or scale down the waterfall in this case. Not only to get to Ataro, but if we were going to proceed any further; this was the only way. I looked towards Cameron and pointed towards the waterfall. He would have probably knew what I was referring to anyway, since Ataro's shout was so loud through the phone that he had probably heard it too. I doubt he would have any much of a trouble scaling the waterfall since he had a Slowbro, but the question was how I was going to scale it...

Suddenly, an idea popped into my head. I would have Cameron have his Pokemon to use Teleport to transport me down. We could see the edge of the surface of the lower ground beside the waterfall, so Teleport should work. I quickly tried to remember how to speak Teleport in English - I had learned it before in this certain school that I went to.

"T... ele ... po ... rt ..." I managed to choke out the word; hopefully Cameron had understood.

As we were going about doing the whole thing quickly, a Purrloin crawled up to us from behind. I started to sulk - this was not a time for a Pokemon battle at all. I looked towards Cameron with my eyes rolling, hinting at the inappropriate time that the Purrloin had picked. Still, I waited for my trainer's decision.

Snorlax picked up Zorua's Pokeball. I had finally caught the little devil. Now all I had to do was worry about finding Mindbender, that was my priority. I saw Snorlax pull out a cell phone and call Ataro I assumed. It was kind of funny and I wanted to laugh, but now wasn't the time.

"Trainer ... Pokemon ... lost ... ghostly figure ..." Snorlax said. He was quite good considering Pokemon didn't speak human. Snorlax shot an Ice Beam into the air, my guess was that it was because he was signaling Ataro of our location.

"I'm below the waterfalls!" Ataro shouted through the phone, but I could hear him underneath the waterfall.

"T... ele ... po ... rt ..." Snorlax said. I shook my head.

"Sorry, Mindbender is gone." I said sadly. "I can't teleport you down." Then my face lit up and an idea popped in my head. "I can have Cybershock, Powerglide, and Kickback lower you down with Psychic. It's the only thing I can think of right now." Right when I said that a Purrlion came out of no where looking for a battle. I looked over to Snorlax who rolled its eyes. The timing was bad, so I just pulled out a Pokeball.

"I don't have time for this." I said, accidently throwing the Pokedoll too hard and hitting Purrlion in the face. "Powerglide, Cybershock, Kickback, help Snorlax down with Psychic." Snorlax's body began glowing a deep blue color as he was slowly lifted off of the ground. Shadow easily jumped down from rock to rock until he reached the bottom.

"Terrosaur, help me down." I called out. The large prehistoric Pokemon swooped down. I jumped onto his back as he lowered me down.​
