"Good going Cameron. It's always good to start a run off by capturing a Pokemon," Gary said to me as he picked up Croagunk's temporary Pokeball and held on to it. "Let's get moving whenever you're ready."

"You still good Shadow?" I asked my hellhound. I knew he was, but I wasn't particularly asking about this battle, I was more so asking how he was doing here at the lakes.

"I still have more than enough energy to take on more Pokemon. Let me at 'em and I'll show you." He said.

"Haha, slow down there. No need for that yet. I am not even sure anything interesting will come our way. We still got to keep our eyes out for Phione, though, now, I am not so sure we're going to encounter one today. Call it a hunch." I said sadly.

"Okay Mr. Gary. We are ready to go. Lead the way sir." I said to him.

“No thanks, didn’t go for the Blastoise, so I don’t want to battle this one either. Let’s see if it passes along, otherwise give it a Pokedoll."

"Thought so, but as I am sure you are aware, it is park policy to ask. Anyways, that doll doesn't appear to be necessary. Squirtle is swimming away." I said to Garth. "Also I don't think there is much else interesting things left in this area. If you want to go somewhere else let me know. Let's just walk to the end of this path and then you can tell me where you want to head over to next." With that, we walked for five minutes to the end of the path. One way led to the mountains, the other led to an underground cavern with a small lake.

The mountain had more Ground/Water type Pokemon like Quagsire, Stunfisk, Swampert, Seismitoed and Pokemon like that. The cavern had Pokemon more like Tentacool, Feebas, Lileep, Anorith, Kabuto, and Omanyte, Pokemon that were rare. But it was just that, they were extremely rare and it was almost guaranteed that you would not find one of those Pokemon.

Right as we got to the end of the path, a small, blue crocodile/alligator Pokemon cheerfully greeted us and danced around happily. "Totodile seems awfully cheerful, he might even want to battle. You up for it?"

    @Bumblebee;

"Okay Mr. Gary. We are ready to go. Lead the way sir," Cameron said. With that we were ready to take off once more. I gotta say he had made some very good time with that battle with Croagunk. I can't really remember any battle in the past that only took two sets of commands, and two damaging attacks. Gotta say that it was pretty impressive. One thing was for sure too, that Houndoom was certainly very powerful.

We started to actually get down the main path of the Great Lakes now, since we were so rudely cutoff earlier. There wasn't much to the scenery around here, it mostly water, water, and yes you guessed correctly, water. I mean there was a little green life, sand, as well as some mountains in the back, but the majority of the area was water, so you would most likely be battling any Water-type that came your way from the water itself. Of course not all the Water-type Pokemon around here fell into that category. I think a good example of that showed itself right now, after we had been walking for about five minutes.

It was a blue, round tadpole-like creature. It hard rather large eyes, a pink mouth which was kind of odd, and a long, mainly transparent tail. It had a pair of legs, although it didn't really seem all that use to, or comfortable with walking. It had a black and white swirl on its stomach, that seemed to resemble one of those hypnosis spiral, but all it really made me think off was the ever popular "Hypnotoad" mostly due to one of this things final evolutions. They were relatively common, but still I didn't know if maybe Cameron wanted one for some reason, and it was apart of the job to ask regardless.

“Thought so,” Alex stated, not at all surprised by my choice. “But as I’m sure are aware, it’s Park policy to ask. Anyway, that doll doesn’t need appear to be necessary, Squirtle is swimming away. Also, I don’t think there is much else interesting left in this area. If you want to go somewhere else let me know. Let’s just walk to the end of this path and then you can tell me where you want to head over to next.”

This was an interesting development. The Great Lakes was a vast area that contained numerous micro climates that different Water Pokemon tended to migrate to. There was the mountain range, woods, lakes, and cavern areas. They Pokemon I liked tended to stick near the lakes, but we had just traversed much of that area and nothing had come up so far. So, I had to pick another area to head too.

All were interesting choices and I was sure to find something I wanted to catch, I just had to pick between the ones. I knew the mountain areas for example had rare Pokemon and the Water/Ground types. I wasn’t looking for any of those Water/Ground types except for Tympole, one who evolved into Seismitoad, a Pokemon we had already spotted. The only reason I hadn’t caught the Seismitoad was because I wanted a Tympole. The chances of finding a rare Pokemon was slim there though. Despite my chances being slim I at least wanted to give it a shot.

“Let’s go for the mountains,” I said to Alex, satisfied with my choice. “After that we can head to the cavern nearby there.”

Alex was about to respond when a small alligator Pokemon came walking up to us. “Totodile seems awfully cheerful, he might even want to battle. You up for it?” Alex queried.

Now this was an interesting choice also. I had long wanted a Feraligatr because it had the Ability Sheer Force plus it possessed a variety of powerful moves. In my opinion it was one of the more underrated Water Pokemon. Its speed was pretty slow, but ti could learn Dragon Dance, and if that didn’t work it could use a move like Bulldoze to lower the other Pokemon’s speed. Either way, I was sure it would be valuable asset to my Water line up if I gave it some extensive training.

The only problems I could see with catching it now was that I could potentially have to pass it up for another Pokemon that I would catch later on in this run. Another problem was that I knew a breeder he could get me one of them for 8k. The final issue was that it would take a lot of training to fully reach its potential. That alone would easily cost me over 150k, a quite hefty sum. I didn’t have that much cash on hand, plus I had to train a bunch of other Pokemon I also possessed. Kingdra, Weavile and Jellicent were Pokemon I was looking forward to train. Kingdra and Jellicent I wanted to add to my gym, while the Weavile I wanted to use in my elite four team. It was quite a predicament on my plate.

Even with those problems about catching the Totodile, I could easily think of a counter to each one. There was no guarantee I would find a Pokemon I wanted more than Totodile, or that I would find 4 Pokemon to even take out of the Park. As for the breeder, it would cost me 8k to buy it, but if I caught here I would only be set back by the type ball I used to catch it, but my run had already paid for itself. So the most this run would cost me would be two more ball, plus whatever amount I spent on Pokedolls. As for third problem, any Pokemon I caught would have to be trained, I only had to divide my attention between them and build both my teams bit by bit.

With my little mental exchange over, I decided I couldn’t waste anything by trying to catch this little guy. My mind made up, I pulled out my Pokedex and did a quick scan of blue Pokemon. In its basic form it reminded me of a small Godzilla, the only difference being that Totodile had red spikes on its back and shot water instead of fire.

As the information scrolled along the screen I saw that this Pokemon could know a bunch of moves that could be used against me. Luckily, I felt that one of my Pokemon would best be suited for this little tyke. That Pokemon was my Alakazam, one of my oldest and most powerful friends.

“I’ll catch this guy,” I said to Alex, formally letting him know what I was going to do. Even if he had guessed it by my pulling out the Pokedex, it was still a polite gesture. I tossed out the proper Pokemon and a moment later the tall, golden, humanoid form of Alakazam appeared. Alakazam were a very rare species of Psychic Pokemon, known for its Special Attack and Speed, a very deadly combination. I had received it from a close friend as a gift, it was a Pokemon I would never trade.

I gave the pointy eared Pokemon a nodded in greeting and opened up my mind to his Psychic meld. I felt the steady power emanating from him and knew that he ahd this battle in control. We were both confident and ready to begin.

“Hey, old friend,” I said aloud for Alex’s benefit. “We’ll be wanted to catch this guy and adding her to our team, so don’t get carried away.”

“As if that would happen,” he replied telekinetically, with a hint of smugness.

“Don’t I know it.” Alakazam was a steady presence on my team, an unofficial leader. He had led me to many victories. “I want you to start things off with your Barrier move and follow that up with Thunder Wave.”

unlike my usual approach to battles involving wild Pokemon, I had decided that Totodile could use moves like Crunch on Alakazam. Crunch was a Dark move, a type that was super effective against Psychic types. That coupled with Alakazam’s low defense was not something I wanted my Pokemon to experience. The move Barrier doubled the defense of the user Pokemon, but since Alakazam was a type with low defense it would only bring it up to powerful level. Not too high, but just enough that he would shielded, and if it came to it Alakazam could use the Recover move, one that would heal half his health in a pinch.

The Thunder Wave on the other hand was a standard approach. As all elite trainers knew, status moves could greatly hamper the fighting ability of any team, which was why many trainers taught their Pokemon moves like Substitute or Safeguard. If that method didn’t work, many opted for a healer in the team. I often used Lanturn and Heal Bell to keep my team healthily; Lapras was also a Pokemon I used for that purpose. The main reason for using a status move in a battle was because it aided in the capture of a Pokemon, something that couldn’t be overlooked.

I knew Alakazam would start with the Barrier move first as it was the simplest of two. Barrier required that Alakazam channeled his Psychic energy to form a Psychic barrier around his body that protected him from any physical attacks. If combined with Reflect it would create a powerful combo of any Physical attack.

For the Thunder Wave Alakazam would use his spoons as conduits for the electricity to form around. From there it was a simple task to direct the pent up energy at Totodile.

"Does a Poliwag happen to catch your interest?" Gary asked. I looked at it for a while. I wasn't too sure about it. I wanted to catch it, but I didn't really see a need in having one, especially since I already had a Politoed.

"Hmm, not too interested in catching one." I said to him, pulling out a Pokedoll. "I have one of these things ready in case we can't evade it. Let's see if we can outrun it." I said, hoping I didn't have to run, I wasn't really in the mood to run right now, but I would if it would help me get away from Poliwag.

    @Bumblebee;

"Hmm, not too interested in catching one, I have one of these things ready in case we can't evade it. Let's see if we can outrun it," Cameron said. While he didn't seem to want a Poliwag, he also didn't seem to be too fond of out running it either. Think it just proved his laziness is all, but hey at least he already got a Pokedoll ready just in case this thing here felt like giving us some trouble.

"Let's just try to walk past it, like we don't even know it exists," I said to Cameron. We just started to keep walking on our way like we had been doing before we ran into Poliwag, and the little tadpole creature did the same thing. It walked right past us in the direction it had been going, so it seemed as though neither side wanted any trouble from the either, we just happened to cross paths was all.

We continued to walk down the path, to the point where we would eventually reach the water, provided nothing else decided to get it our way first. Before we actually got right to the water though, I happened to notice a splash, and a Pokemon hop out of the water, onto the land. Rather than going to the right like I had originally intended I turned to go and see what that creature was.

It was a delicious shellfish, most specifically a crustacean one, well I didn't know if this one was delicious but shellfish were generally delicious so. It had a red shell, but all of its underside parts seemed to be cream in coloration. It had a total of six small legs. It had wide eyes, with small pupils, and a short tail. There wasn't really much more to its looks, and you would swear it was crayfish, or perhaps a small lobster if you ever saw one.

OOC: It has been a while, wanted to capture it, but cbf now.

"Yeah, I don't want to capture this guy. Can we move on?" I asked my Ranger. I wasn't sure if I had zoned out or not, but I felt like a lot of time just went buy. It was a scary feeling, but I figured it must of all been in my head. I unzipped my bad and pulled out a Pokedoll. I wasn't sure if this Pokemon would leave willingly. I knew their natures, and it wasn't likely that this Corphish would back off, but I was going to try anyways, the doll was just my back up. Hopefully though, I wouldn't need to use it.

“I’ll catch this guy,” He said, which came as a surprise to me. I wasn't expecting him or anyone to catch a mart since they were so easily obtained, but what ever he wanted was fine with me, I personally didn't care as long as I was getting paid. He released a Pokemon that I was quite familiar with, Alakazam. These specific types of Pokemon were known to be heavy special hitters with great speed, making them an excellent choice when wanting to attack and finish a battle at a fast speed.

“Hey, old friend,” He said aloud. “We’ll be wanted to catch this guy and adding her to our team, so don’t get carried away.” His Alakazam responded to him telepathically, or at least I assumed he did.

“Don’t I know it. I want you to start things off with your Barrier move and follow that up with Thunder Wave.” It wasn't anything that required any strength at all. He was starting off slow, really slow. A Pokemon with incredible special attack and speed and then getting a boost in defense, that was going to cause major trouble for Totodile. I knew right then and there that the little guy stood no chance. Alakazam did his thing, creating a barrier and launching his Thunder Wave attack.

Totodile went straight through the Thunder Wave with Aqua Jet and bit down hard on Alakazam. The attack wasn't going to do much because of the barrier, but it was still a super effective move. Totodile also went through the electrical paralyzing attack, which now caused him to be paralyzed. This was not a good start for the little guy, but she still had a chance to stall the battle out more if she wanted too.

    @Bumblebee;

"Yeah, I don't want to capture this guy. Can we move on?" Cameron asked, after glancing at Corphish, for what felt like two weeks, but was actually just a few moments. The amount of time didn't particularly matter though, since he seemed to be sure either way. Still though he did seem like he was considering battling this thing for a few moments there, but decided to change his mind. Probably since he already owned one of these. Well, owned its evolved form.

"That's fair enough to me. Let's see if we can get around this thing without any trouble, shall we?" I said to Cameron. It was always great when you could get past a Pokemon without needing to use a Pokedoll. We walked around Corphish, and it looked at us, but it didn't give a second glance really. I could only guess that it wasn't really up for a battle either. It must have just been strolling along the way. Didn't matter to me, and I doubt to Cameron too, since we got away from it easily.

Now that we were at the main area of the water, it was mostly just a matter of surrounding the lake, seeing what Pokemon show up from out of the water, or an area around here. The main decision was just picking which way to go first, the right or the left. I decided in the most rational way possible, with a coin flip. It came up as tails, so I started to lead Cameron the right side, and it only took us about forty or so seconds of walking, before a Pokemon approached us that was on land.

It was a tiny thing, it was. Its body was blue in color, with a yellow mouth. It also had six small legs, which was unusual, since you would think it only had four legs when looking at it. It had a lilypad on its back, which could collect rain, or water in general. The final evolution of this Pokemon was a must have for both Grass, and Water-type gym leaders alike, because it was just that handy.

"Nah, not really interested in capturing/battling this Pokemon." I replied to him. "Same thing as before, let's see if we can get past this without having to use another doll. I'll have this Pokedoll on standby though, just in case." I wondered to myself what else this run had in store for me. I hoped something at least worthwhile. I didn't want to come here for nothing. I hated wasting time, and I hoped this wasn't one of those runs.

    @Bumblebee

Alakazam created the Barrier with only a small thought, testament to Alakazam’s Psychic prowess. The Thunder Wave took a few more seconds, but that was still pretty fast and the Totodile didn’t have much time to react to the threat.

Totodile was momentary taken aback by the sudden onslaught from the much older Alakazam,. The Pokemon sputtered and shot forward, using a stream of water to boost its speed. With the added boost from the Aqua Jet the Water Pokemon closed the distance between her and Alakazam. She closed her jaws around the arm of Alakazam and bit down hard, and resembling an alligator, she had powerful jaws.

With Barrier raising Alakazam’s defense I knew that the Bite wouldn’t do too much damage, even with it being super effective. The Totodile was just outclassed by the older more experienced Pokemon, that was just a simple fact. Only in rare cases did a basic Pokemon ever beat a full evolved one. I was certain that it wouldn’t happen here. If things really did take a turn for the worst I would have Alakazam use Recover and as a last ditch effort I carried some healing items.

Since my first entry into the Park I never needed to use a healing item, but I would rather be prepared than left out in the cold. Alakazam shook the Totodile off his arm and the little Water Pokemon retreated, still having full health as I hadn’t order an attack yet.

“You’re doing nice,” I complemented Alakazam. I liked to give my Pokemon praise for the simple reason that it never hurt anything. It kept their spirits uplifted and it strengthened the bond we shared as trainer and Pokemon.

My only question was what I wanted Alakazam to do next, which were frankly limited. Alakazam was one of my Pokemon that had a fair number of extra moves, but he was far from a master level in terms of his knowledge. I had taught him around fifteen extra moves, two of which were special moves and not Tms or Hms. Fifteen was a fair number of any Pokemon, but certain Pokemon like Alakazam often had access to a lot of moves, and that gave those Pokemon more options to deal with any threat. If it hadn’t been for my Water gym I would have invested more money into Alakazam, he really needed Magic Guard, but I was continually investing funds in my Water Pokemon and the National Park. Just recently I had dropped one hundred thousand on my new Kingdra. That was quite a sum of money, but I had spent more than that before, my Snorlax alone set me back two hundred and twenty five thousand. So I was happy with the price tag, it left me with something around twenty grand, enough to start saving for my next projects.

I knew that as soon as I trained my Jellicent and Gorebyss that I would focus my attention on this Totodile, give it some Tms and invest some time into it. It was one of those Pokemon that I felt was easily overlooked, and I wanted to test it out and give it a chance to shine. First I had to catch it, however.

“Alakazam let’s go ahead and try a Thunder Punch attack.” I decided on Thunder Punch because it was an Electric attack and because it was a physical move, Totodile being Water typed was weak to Electric attacks, so that was a bonus. Plus, Alakazam possessed poor attack, meaning that the attack wouldn’t do as much damage as one of his abundant special attacks. I felt it to be a good compremise between the two.

Once Alakazam had built up some Electricity in one of his fists he would teleport next to the Totodile and deliver a fierce blow to it. I would formulate a plan of action once I saw what the Totodile would be planning. It never hurt to know an opponent’s strategy.

"Nah, not really interested in capturing/battling this Pokemon. Same thing as before, let's see if we can get past this without having to use another doll. I'll have this Pokedoll on standby though, just in case," Cameron said in response to looking at this Lotad. I couldn't really say that I was in shock to hear him passing up on this opportunity, seeing as how he already owned a Ludicolo he seemed pretty pleased with. That seemed fair enough to me, and so now it was just a matter of getting away.

We had good luck escaping so far, so I was hopeful that this time would be the same. We started walking by, but Lotad didn't want to see any of that. It stopped me, by sinking its teeth into the base of my pants, around the ankle. It wasn't really trying to bite me or anything, it just had wanted to prevent us from getting away. If I had to guess, I would figure this thing just wanted to play, but Cameron didn't want to, so I handed it a Pokedoll, which it happily accepted, and we were then on our merry way.

We continued to walk along the way, with me keeping my eyes out for anything that could possibly be lurking around. Many things were probably hiding down in the water, but I didn't exactly have the necessary tools on hand for us to go on a water expedition. That was fine though, because Pokemon were sure to show theirself sooner or later, it was only just a matter of waiting. In this case it was only a matter of a few more moments.

A Pokemon flew down from the sky, and actually landed right in front of us, intentionally stopping us. It did appear to be a bulky Pokemon, but looks meant nothing. I know from personal experience with using them that these were very fast, as well as incredibly powerful, Pokemon. This was generally orange in color, green on the front side of their wings. It was actually a pretty drastic change in looks from its previous evolved form. Despite how it may look, it was actually a pseudo-legendary Pokemon, one of the most powerful Pokemon out their, despite having a quadruple weakness to Ice.

OOC: Probably do two more Pokemon then bail, I want to try the event shit.

IC: "Do you have any interest in this Dragonite?" He asked me. I was really interested in capturing this Pokemon, but I wasn't in the mood for wasting my time battling it. This particular Pokemon was incredibly powerful, some would even say it is in the top ten of strongest Pokemon ever. However, I knew someone that could hook me up with a Dratini for the right amount of cash, which I could easily put together.

"No, I think I will pass on this guy, though he is really interesting and I sure would have liked to add him on my team. I'll get myself a Dratini from a friend." I said, reaching into my backpack and pulling out my camera. I quickly snapped a picture of the magnificent beast, two in fact so I could keep one for myself. "Let's carry on, I don't think I have much time left."

    Commencing...

“You’re doing nice,” He said, praising his Pokemon. It was always a good thing to do to praise your Pokemon. It made them that much more confident when attacking which was nice. It also made them believe in you more and have a closer bond. I had that same bond with Lickitron, my Lickitung. He was supposed to meet me here at the Lakes an hour and a half ago. I just figured that he was swimming somewhere nearby. If anything bad would happen to him, I would feel it, so for now I knew he was safe. I returned my attention back to the battle.

“Alakazam let’s go ahead and try a Thunder Punch attack.” He said. I wasn't sure why he was using Thunder Punch, that attack was indeed super effective, but at the same time, Alakazam's physical attack was pretty weak. The attack itself wouldn't do much damage in my opinion. Totodile might have the disadvantage here, but counting it out of the battle now would be a poor mistake on Garth's part.

Alakazam punched Totodile hard in the chest with the electrical attack. Totodile stumbled backwards and took a moment to catch its breath. Garth didn't dish out any more orders, so I figured he was just allowing the little crocodile a small break. Totodile knew this and sent out a strong blast of water. The force of that move was incredible. Alakazam, however, recovered fast from that attack. Now both Pokemon were just staring each other down, each waiting for the other to make its move.

Alakazam teleported directly in front of the Totodile, starting the small blue alligator. Without any apparent emotion, Alakazam slammed his electricity cloaked fist into the chest of the wild Pokemon. Alakazam teleported back to his original spot a moment later after he delivered the attack.

Totodile for her part stumbled back and yelped from the sudden pain. She rubbed her chest where the blow had struck, but launched herself into action a moment later. She inhaled deeply, no doubt calling her reservoirs on energy. She fired a large stream of twisting water at Alakazam. Alakazam had been expecting an attack from Totodile and brought his spoons up and crossed them together, right in the path of what I thought to be a Hydro Pump attack.

The Water attack slammed into Alakazam not a moment later. The spoons blocked most of the attack from hitting Alakazam directly, but the jet of water was large and not so small amounts got back to strike Alakazam in the face and chest. As the water died down I got a good look at my Psychic Pokemon.

His mustache was drooping with water and the rest of his body was covered with a sheen of liquid. His shoulders were heaving slightly, but he was far from winded. Alakazam was a strong Pokemon and could take a good deal of damage. Alakazam’s true weakness was his low defense, that was the reason behind the barrier.

Both Pokemon were now starting at each, sizing one another up and waiting for the next round of attacks to come. This gave me a moment to think about what the next step should be. Normally, I would have preferred to use a Light Screen to shield Alakazam from any special attacks. That was out of the question because Alakazam didn’t know the move yet, it was one of those moves I needed, but didn’t have at this moment in time.

With that move gone my only other move to boost Alakazam’s special defense was Calm Mind. A move I usually didn’t hesitate to take advantage of with my Alakazam, but right now that wasn’t a good option to use because it also boosted the special attack of Alakazam. Raising the special attack for Alakazam was a good thing in most instances, but I could risk doing it because Alakazam naturally possessed high special attack. If I used Calm Mind then a strong special attack from Alakazam I ran the risk of knocking out the Totodile, which meant I couldn’t capture it, that was a Park policy.

I wasn’t exactly fond of this policy because it made it harder to capture Pokemon, but it made good sense because then a Pokemon trainer would just bring overwhelming force and just crush most Pokemon that went up against it. That should only be reserved for battles, and not the less experienced and often younger wild Pokemon.

So with the paralysis increasing the chance of a capture attempt, I only had to lower the health of Totodile to a small amount and draining its energy. From there I would attempt a capture.

I decided on a strategy which I thought would be the best and relayed it to Alakazam, speaking aloud for the benefit of my ranger. “Alakazam, almost at the finish line. Let’s start with a Kinisis move and follow that up with Energy Ball attack.”

Kinisis was almost a stalling move, if it hit it would lower the accuracy of all Totodile’s attacks by one stage. It only had around a twenty-five percent chance of causing most moves to miss, but I was willing to try and protect Alakazam’s health. Didn’t know if I might need him later. Plus, like Barrier it was a move that Alakazam didn’t need to concentrate much on for him to use the move.

Energy Ball was simply an attack for Alakazam to utilize. He didn’t get a STAB bonus from it as he would Psychic, but it did have the bonus of being super effective against the Totodile. It also would do more damage than my go to attack of Psychic, even though Psychic was more powerful. I was counting on the Energy Ball doing just enough damage to severely weaken the Water Pokemon without knocking it out or leaving it with too much health.

Energy Ball was a standard special Grass type attack with a base power of eighty and a chance to lower the special defense of the Pokemon who was hit by it. Next to Grass Knot it was one of the most common Grass type attack that non-Grass Pokemon could learn. Unlike Grass Knot, which relied on the weight of a Pokemon for damage, Energy Ball had a nonmoving Base Power, making it more popular in most cases. Energy Ball was actually a gift that I had got for a friend for my Alakazam, and I was sure glad I had it. A very useful move against the common Swampert, a deadly enough beast hampered only by its low speed and four times weakness to Grass moves.

As Alakazam concentrated on unleashing his next salve of attacks I dropped my pack to the ground and rummaged around for one of the empty Park Balls I had placed in it earlier. I was tempted to use a Hyper or Super Ball due to the uncertainly of these next attacks, but I was willing to take the small risk. Besides, I was a very frugal spender, and those better balls costed more money, and since I had just dropped a bunch of money on my Kingdra I didn’t have that much cash left. I needed to save it for my next trip into the park and for the other Pokemon I planned to train.

I came up with the green Park Ball, emblazoned with the bold yellow letters of N and P on the top. I depressed the center button to enlarge it and looked over at Totodile. If the Energy Ball managed to hit the Water Pokemon I would throw this Park Ball at the wild Pokemon and attempt to capture it.

@Bumblebee; If you want it, tell me gender from now so I know the color.

"No, I think I will pass on this guy, though he is really interesting and I sure would have liked to add him on my team. I'll get myself a Dratini from a friend. Let's carry on, I don't think I have much time left," Cameron said, as he reached into his pocket, and pulled out his camera. He did seem highly interested in this Dragonite, but I don't think that he wanted to spend the time it took to battle it, well battling it. That was understandable, since battling a Dragonite would easily eat a good deal of time.

Dragonite didn't look like other pseudos, who usually looked like they meant business, but it looked rather playful. At least that meant that it would make for a good picture opportunity then. Cameron snapped a picture of the dragon, and the flash cause it to rub its eyes, before it flew off into the sky, to go who knows where. It was certainly a sight to behold, and to see go. But no time for that, because Cameron seemed to be on a schedule, so I wanted to see if we could quickly find another Pokemon.

We walked along on the right side of the trail for about another five minutes, with really nothing showing up. I saw the water move a few times, but no Pokemon ever ended up coming out of it, and I couldn't go into the water, look, and pull something out onto the land. Cameron would just need to wait for something to show up naturally. Well, this waiting period only took about another minute, since a Pokemon peaked its head out of the water, and showed some interest in us.

This creature seemed to resemble a jellyfish in appearance, looking a little different based on their gender. If it was male, then it was blue, and looked like a prince, whereas if it were female it would be pink, and look like a princess. They would both also have the top of their head take on a crown like shape, as well as both having a collar around their necks. Given their appearance you would think they were half Water-type, and half Electric-type, but oddly enough they were half Ghost-type.

And as if by magic, but not magic cause I can't just somehow be here, I appear out of thin air on the battle scene where things seem to be heating up. On the right side, weighing in at one hundred and five pounds, being accompanied by his trainer, whose name was Garth according to the info I was handed, it was Alakazam. And it's opponent, to the left of us, weighing an astounding twenty pounds, it was a wild Totodile. Sure Alakazam weighed over five times as much as Totodile, but hey this wasn't a fight, or a wrestling match, so weight didn't matter all that much. Though from what I could already gather this battle wasn't one sided. Both Pokemon were about the same on health, but Alakazam had boosted its defense, and Totodile was paralyzed. So now it was just basically a matter of selecting moves.

“Alakazam, almost at the finish line. Let’s start with a Kinesis move and follow that up with Energy Ball attack,” Garth commanded. Well, Kinesis was certainly an interesting choice to say the least. I say that, cause it wasn't usually a command you heard every day. In fact I don't even remember the last time I saw this move used. It must have been, maybe like ten or eleven years for me. It was certainly going to be interesting to see it used after all this time.

Kinesis was a Psychic-type attack, however it was one that dealt no damage whatsoever. This was an accuracy lowering move, that worked by distracting the opposing Pokemon by bending a spoon, which was what it was the signature move of Kadabra, and Alakazam, since they were the only two Pokemon to always be wielding spoons. Alakazam stuck the spoon in its right hand forward, and started to bend it, which seemed to confuse Totodile. I was probably thinking the same exact thing that Totodile was, what a waste of a good spoon. I guess Alakazam didn't want any soup, or a bowl of cereal. Gardevoir, who was good for reading my thoughts, facepalmed when she heard me say that one in my head. Either way though this seemed to get the job done, and so it could now move on to the next phase of its plan.

This was Energy Ball. A ball like attack, that was similar to the move Shadow Ball, though a Grass-type variant. The attack would be formed by Alakazam drawing in on the nature energy surrounding this area, thus turning the ball green in color due to the nutrients in said attack. On the inside of this ball there was a smaller white sphere of energy, which could manage to drop the opposing Pokemon's Special Defense. Though at this point that would probably be pointless, and unnecessary. Alakazam had massive Special Attack, and Grass-type moves were super effective against Water-types such as Totodile so.

Alakazam fired the attack off at the little crocodile, and you could see the effects of it being distracted playing in. It didn't even attempt to avoid this attack, even though it was barreling down on it at a tremendous speed. The attack hit right away, and knocked the little guy into the ground. Garth found this to be enough, and so he reach into his bag and pulled out a Park Ball. He then threw it at Totodile, before it had a chance to do anything, and it only took a few more moments before everything was settled.

"Good going Garth. I have no idea how long you were battling that thing, but you've captured it now. By the way, my name is Gary, and I'll be your ranger now, and this over here is my Gardevoir," I said as I walked over to the Park Ball, and put it in my pocket for safe keeping. "So then, shall we keep going so that you can see if there is anything else you might want?" I said, even though the run was over half over, and he had captured three Pokemon already.

OOC: Thanks for taking over, Ebail. Three daysish is fine by me, long as it's not five days I'm fine. @Ebail
    ----

My plan worked according to plan, the Totodile was quickly captured and added to my team. I only had one free space left to capture a Pokemon, but I wanted to finish this run completely. If I had to give up the Totodile or Krabby than I would, but I would concern myself with that later.

"Good going, Garth. I have no idea how long you were battling that thing, but you've captured it now. By the way, my name is Gary, and I'll be your ranger now, and this over here is my Gardevoir," the newcomer said as he walked over to the Park Ball, and put it in a pocket for safe keeping. "So then, shall we keep going so that you can see if there is anything else you might want?"

"Nice to see you again." This wasn't our first encounter and I enjoyed his company, plus he was a good ranger. "Yeah, I want to milk this run for all it's worth. Let's see what else we can find.

    OOC: Nah, shouldn't be five days. This weekend is busy since it's a grilling holiday on Monday, but after that it'd start slowing down again anyway. And np, someone needs to take these runs so they don't fade away into nothing. @AmericanTreeFrog;

IC: "Nice to see you again," he said. At first I thought maybe he was confusing me for my brother, but now that I thought about it I did take him through the park. It was on that special event that was done for Halloween about nine months ago. That was so long ago that I had nearly forgotten about it. That was a pretty fun time, and it was a good paycheck for me. "Yeah, I want to milk this run for all it's worth. Let's see what else we can find," Garth said. Couldn't blame him. He could leave this run with four Pokemon anyway, so hey why not go for everything it could be worth if you have the time.

We started walking on the way, looking at what might show up. The Great Lakes was certainly a large area, filled with a vast amount of Pokemon. Some were pretty good, and sought after, and others...well, they were generally found to be a waste of time. But to be fair that was the case with any area you visited in the park. I remember Eric telling me of some of his trips to the park. Such as one he took to Meteor Valley. Most of the stuff he ran into weren't worth the time, but he got a few things, including a pretty nice Gastly. You never knew what was going to happen, but hey that's what made things fun.

We walked for another few moments, before a creature poked its head out of the water, and stared at us, showing some sort of interest or curiosity. It was a serpent like Pokemon, somewhat reminding me of a snake at first glance, only better looking. It had large fins on the sides of its head, kind of like where it would have ears, and also having a silver round nose. The upper half of its body was blue in color, while the underside was white, or a light shade of silver. I was actually surprised to see this thing, because generally they were pretty shy, and so were rarely seen.

    ----------

We walked along until we came to a lake. A Pokemon popped out of the water and looked us over intently. “Do you happen to want this Dratini?” the ranger asked.

“While I do want a Dratini, I’ll have to pass up on this one, though.” If I hadn’t caught the Totodile I might have considered it, but since I only had one spot open I really wanted to save it for anything special that might come up. Plus, I had a Dragonite already so the only reason I would get a Dratini is for the Pokedex, but that wasn’t the thought on my mind right now.

“Let’s see if it leaves us alone, if not I’ll use one of my Pokedolls to escape from it.”
