“Hello little one…” Daniel greeted in a soft, friendly voice. He crouched down, giving her his palm as Raiguy suddenly jumped out of the jeep carrying the trainer's backpack. The Raichu waved at the wild creature with a grin on his face. I couldn't see what type of smile it was, but I hoped it wasn't a naughty one.

Slowly, unsurely, Sentret sniffed at Daniel's palm... Then, backed away almost immediately. She was a truly shy Pokemon. The trainer seemed to think of something that could gain this creature's trust.

Joe, on the other hand, wanted to battle it. "Sure, I'll battle it," he said confidently as he tossed a ball to the air. The Pokeball opened, releasing a Pidgeot. He spread out his wings to help him balance while "floating" above ground. "Phoenix, be careful with it," Joe warned as the flying type landed on the grass.

As Joe explained their situation to Phoenix, Daniel was busy making friends with his encounter. “Aw, you don’t want to fight, do you?” he asked whispering, reaching out to pat the creature. The Sentret gulped, carefully moving back. She stayed a few paces away from Daniel's waiting hand for a few moments before, hesitantly, stepping forward. She allowed the teen to touch her head. The Scout Pokemon growled in a soft voice, kind of enjoying Daniel's hand on her head.

"So, just go at it, then?" Joe asked me when Phoenix understood what he must do.

"Yeah, attack it, but it might run away, especially since it's a timid creature. You can try doing what Daniel's done... But it is entirely up to you," I answered, flashing him an encouraging smile.

Daniel's Sentret continued to stay under his palm. The other creature, meanwhile, had curled itself into a ball. The normal type squeezed itself tight, bracing itself from any attacks that may come its way. When the Pokemon had finished, it felt its skin, and body, could take the attacks without getting damaged as much.

"Go easy on it, and don't overexert yourself. There's probably more important things we'll encounter," I told my Pidgeot. "Just weaken it with an Air Slash. It should be enough."

Phoenix flapped his wing a bit to lift himself into the air. He focused, and brought his wing down quickly as if it were a weapon, sending a focused blade of air at the Sentret. Once I thought it over, it probably would've been a better idea to leave it alone, but it couldn't really hurt to catch it.

Phoenix looked at me immediately, almost as if it were asking for praise. I nodded, then motioned for him to look back a his opponent and stay focused.

Siless looked set to battle the Shiftry, instructing his Ludicolo to use its natural rhythm and break into a Fake Out. A typical starting move since it caused the opponent to flinch. At the third clap a small shock wave of air erupted hitting the Shiftry. It staggered backwards as the force of air pushed it.

It didn't appear to have done much damage, but it had the desired effect of encouraging the apparant Psychic type hating Shiftry to focus on the Ludicolo instead.

The Dark and Grass type Pokémon struggled to regain its footing, but soon it's leaves began glow as it span. He spun his arms furiously fast building power in its attack. It appeared to be doing a similar dance to the one Ludicolo had started. Both Grass types used Swords Dance.

Shiftry made the first violently swinging its leaf hands, as it darted forwards its leaves became shrowded in a black light. Siless had instructed Ludicolo to try and implement a Brick Break into its rhythm. Buzz wasn't sure if this last command had registered though as it didn't seem to be preparing the Brick Break attack.

Meanwhile the Shiftry was looming ever closer, its leaves filled with the dark energy, ready to release the anger and hatred built up.

Darkness gathered over the Shiftry's already shadowy leaves, and it stepped closer to my dancing Ludicolo. One Pokémon was full of joy, while the other was seething in anger; both seemed to gain power from their respective emotions, guaranteeing that the fight would be a clash of powers.

I could have Teddson take the advantage by getting a Rain Dance going; the prior one had already ended, despite it calling a powerful storm. I'd call for Teddson to use it, if it came to it, but the Shiftry seemed to be a good hunter; if it was, then we had to wear it down before working on an advantage or it would have enough energy to escape when it realized it couldn't win. Powerful hits would do the trick easily, assuming we could land them. However, a slower degradation of its energy would result in it being less defensive once it was weaker, making it all that easier to strike and catch.

"Alright, Teddson, strike at Shiftry's leaves with an Ice Punch!" The dancing pineapple's green mitten-like hands began glowing a light blue as the air around them condensed into ice crystals. The offensive order left Teddson's defenses down to get off an attack; it would help keep Shiftry's spirits up, however, if it got a hit or two off. The indirect strike ordered was less of a damaging blow and more of an inconvenience; though freezing Shiftry's energy stores would make it tired, I wasn't aiming for this as the chance to freeze would be very low (though if it worked, we could just work on weakening Shiftry for capture). Instead, I was aiming to disrupt its most powerful attacks which use its leaves as fans or blades; if it realized we had strikes that could severely damage those weapons, it'd resort to other (hopefully weaker) attacks instead.

As a final step for this early phase in the battle, I grabbed a spray bottle from my pack. A green label identified it as a bottle of "Calming Fragrance Plus" fragrance; it was designed to make it easier to capture a Pokémon. I had more than one use for it, however; I figured it could weaken the Shiftry's anger, giving it less power. Even if it didn't, it was an adequate distraction that wouldn't make the Shiftry feel threatened, so there was no need to save it up for later.

OOC: Sorry for inactivity, my computer broke, but it’s all good now… I think.
    /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
I watched intently as Phoenix prepared to attack. “This won’t end well…” I thought. I couldn’t tell Sentret that, though, so I tried to reassure it. “Don’t worry; your friend will be fine.” I continued to rub Sentret’s head slowly as I said this. Meanwhile, Raiguy was watching intently, hoping something interesting would happen.

“Hey Sentret, would you like to come with us?” I asked, picking a Poke Ball out of my backpack. “I guess you don’t know how a Poke Ball works yet.” I said, “Raiguy, return!” As I said this, a red light enveloped Raiguy. As this was occurring, he looked somewhat annoyed. He’d get over it, though. It’d never bothered him before.

“See?” I said, holding up the red sphere, “Raiguy is asleep inside of this.” I took another ball out of my bag. “C’mon out, Clucky!”

A large, orange, chicken-like creature emerged from my Poke Ball. “This is one of my other Pokémon.” The Blaziken surveyed the area, eventually laying eyes on the Sentret I had befriended. Slowly, it crouched down, smiling lovingly, rubbing Sentret behind the ears. Forget water; Clucky's weakness was cute things.

“So, how about it?” I said, “You might not like Raiguy so much, but I think you and Clucky could get along okay.”

Joe had commanded his Pidgeot to use Air Slash. Phoenix happily obliged, flapping his wings to lift himself higher into the air. He continued to flap his wings, but this time with much more force and power. His wings were at just the right angle, slashing through the air at a high speed with a single swing.

He propelled a section of the air itself forward to sharply strike the target. Faintly, a trail of white energy shot forwards with the wind as they struck the Sentret harshly. Lucky for the wild creature, it had managed to run a few inches away, thus had not taken the full amount of damage.

I heard Daniel reassure the other Sentret, saying, “Don’t worry; your friend will be fine.” I knew this was not totally the case, Phoenix could very well win this battle. Fortunately, the wild Pokemon listened to my trainer, allowing him to continuously rub her head over and over.

“Hey Sentret, would you like to come with us?” Daniel asked suddenly, as Joe's encounter ran behind to a nearby tree. I watched him demonstrate how a Pokeball worked, and Sentret stepped forward a little.

“C’mon out, Clucky!” he called out his other Pokemon - a Blaziken. The chicken-like Pokemon surveyed the area, eventually laying eyes on the Sentret I had befriended. Unfortunately, he had scared the other Sentret further.

I watched the Scout Pokemon hiding behind the tree with a pitying expression. A few moments passed until it started glowing once more. It closed its eyes in concentration, shaking its head in frustration - it did not really want to do this. The next instant, a loud voice rang out, causing my hands to shoot upwards to cover my ears. The Sentret had created a loud, violent boom striking the Pidgeot with a good amount of damage. He scowled and growled as the voice echoed in its head. He looked back at his trainer, awaiting commands - not really knowing how to react.

Its friend cried timidly, hiding behind Clucky and Daniel. Unfortunately, the Hyper Voice attack had taken its toll on the Blaziken and her as well, dealing some amount of damage - but less than what had been done to Phoenix. I caught the other Sentret give her an apologetic look, to which she nodded in understanding - sort of.

“So, how about it?” Daniel said as Clucky bent down to rub the Sentret behind her ears, “You might not like Raiguy so much, but I think you and Clucky could get along okay.” She growled in affirmation, but then looked at the Pokeballs with a frightened expression. She shook her head at them, somehow gesturing over to the balls with her ears.

"I think she's saying she wants to come along, but not in a ball. Perhaps she means you haven't exactly captured her yet," I told Daniel as the Sentret moved over to Clucky's side. Laughing slightly, I continued, "Hmm.. It seems she likes Clucky more. Maybe that's a good sign."

Meanwhile, her friend was preparing another attack. It was standing-slash-jumping on its tail, exerting more and more force and energy into it. Then, with one final push, it leapt into the air. Soaring towards the Pidgeot, its tail in front of it. It was risky, if Phoenix would be able to dodge the Slam, it would get hurt in the process when it fell to the ground. But, how much time did Joe have? The Sentret was getting closer and closer.

OOC: Notes about this BP. Hyper Voice hit everybody, though not at the same amount of strength and power - mainly hit Phoenix. Lightning, you've befriended the Sentret, however she is not too sure whether she wants to be in the ball/wants to be caught or not. She'll tag along though, and gets along with Clucky better. You haven't captured her, and she might still be able to run away later on. Their abilities are both Run Away, not Keen Eye.

OOC: Makes enough sense. How would Wish work in the NP? (e.g. Do I have to send out 2 Pokémon at once or switch like normal, can I heal wild Pokémon I befriend, etc.)

My ears ached as the Hyper Voice hit all of us. Clucky seemed most angered by this. Flames started to rise from her hands, but the sound of her scout friend seemed to calm her down – something very few people had managed to do. Sentret didn’t want to go inside a Poké Ball just yet, but I was sure that after spending some time with Clucky, I was sure she’d oblige. Raiguy’s personality wasn’t exactly a match for Sentret’s. Clucky on the other hand had started treating Sentret like her little sister. “You two play nice now.” I said jokingly.

    BP:

As the mysterious grass type loomed closer to the Ludicolo, Siless gave out an order to use Ice Punch but aimed at the oncoming leaves as oppose to a general attack. Buzz watched as the ice crystals formed around Ludicolo's hand. Teddson hopped out throwing his arm onto the oncoming leaves of the Shiftry. The two energies collided in the air as ice crystals shattered into the sky.

The dark energy of the Night Slash attack continued striking the Ludicolo in the stomach, but Buzz noticed that part of the leaves appeared to be fully frozen, this had surely weakened the attack.

Siless then pulled out a small spray bottle releasing the odour into the air. Buzz took a sniff, he thought he could identify it, he was wrong of course. He suspected it was a bottle of calming fragrance plus. He also guessed that Siless was hoping it would relax the Shiftry somewhat, making it less aggresive.

Buzz was never quite sure how the different fragrances had stonger effects, but it wasn't his job to wonder. Buzz was curious to see what would happen, the Shiftry did seem to be a lot calmer. He also wished that he could get inside the Shiftry's mind to discover what happened to make it this aggressive. Pokémon were complex creatures and rarely acted violently without reasoning behind it.

Buzz watched the stand off between the two grass types wondering who would make the first move, he thought the quicker Siless got in another attack, the less likely the Shiftry would have time to counter with a powerful one.

Teddson had made a decent strike on the Shiftry. He made a small victory dance despite his opponent's dark counterattack; he seemed more interested in having fun than seriously battling. Not that there was anything wrong with that; strategy-wise, Teddson would be more than willing to make the battle lengthier to be able to see more action, and the longer the battle, the less energy the Shiftry would have when I tried to capture it.

I wanted to be able to see what the Shiftry was thinking, but Sela was in her Pokéball due to the threat it posed to her (though with the frozen leaves it was a lot less threatening than before, I still wasn't bringing her back out yet). I didn't have Psychic powers of my own despite its prevalence in many regions, so Sela was my only access to information obtainable via telepathy at the moment. I felt a bit blind not battling with her, though at the same time I had to for every gym match, so it wasn't like I wasn't used to it (then again, that may be the reason for my losing record..).

With Shiftry's hands frozen we could go on the offensive. The first thing I wanted to do was to block off the Shiftry's chance of escape as well as its ability to avoid attacks.

"Teddson, fire a wide-angle Ice Beam at Shiftry's feet!"

Normally, Ice Beam resulted in a small number of cold 'bolts' encircling one-another to their target, hitting the same point. This 'wide-angle' Ice Beam I tried for spread out the bolts; it wasn't very far, and it made the Ice Beam weaker overall, but it would theoretically spread the area it affects. Honestly, Teddson and I have never used it, not even in training, but we had discussed it at least. I didn't think it was enough, but it was something to try while we had the upper hand.

The dancing pineapple-like Pokémon focused what looked like blue bolts of electricity in its mouth. Even if none of the bolts hit, I figured, it would freeze the ground under Shiftry, making it harder for our opponent to move around or possibly even attack. It was probably a bit hopeful, but with Shiftry's leaves frozen, we had nothing to lose; there wasn't really a reason not to try besides our own inexperience, which it had to be used to get rid of that, so...

OOC: Oh hey, let's completely forget about the URPG for a day or 2.

I shook my head, trying to recover from the loud yell. I hadn't gotten a chance to cover my ears. I saw my opponent diving in for a Slam attack, and I tried to tell Phoenix to dodge. I didn't seem to be clear enough, because the Pidgeot didn't seem to notice the incoming attack and was hit straight on. "Stay calm, counter with a Wing Attack!" I commanded. Phoenix seemed to understand, charging his wing with a white glow and diving at the Sentret.

I figured she was indeed angered by the shrill, loud shriek of the Sentret - I would be too, if I was just a regular trainer, which I most certainly am not. Fortunately, the flames soon disappeared as her new friend Sentret cried a Pokemon growl as she stuck next to her blazing legs. Her heart seemed to soften with this, and I breathed a sigh of relief. We couldn't afford to have the Blaziken attack the other wild creature now, could we?

I saw, out of the corner of my eye, Joe shaking his head furiously - trying to get the hyper voice out of his ears and mind forever. He tried to tell his quite inexperienced Pidgeot to dodge, though it seemed he could not be heard. Phoenix looked as though he did not understand, or maybe, the attack's loud sound had not yet subsided.

He winced as the Sentret's tail slammed down onto his back - the force of the impact almost making him lose his balance while hovering. Then, "instinctively", it was able to toss its head back, and struck Phoenix's head as it pushed itself off the flying type's body. He closed his eyes as the creature's tail used his body as a launch pad - it was hurting slightly for the Slam attack had hit it directly on that area.

“You two play nice now.” I heard Daniel tell his Pokemon and the Sentret. I turned my attention to them for a moment, just as Joe ordered Phoenix to use Wing Attack. Clcuky and the Scout Pokemon were getting along quite well, though the creature seemed to like the fire-fighting type, she still did not look as convinced by Daniel. I shrugged slightly, I was not sure, at all, how this would play out - however, I did hope what would happen would be the best for both trainers.

I looked back, over to Joe, to check on his battle. He seemed to be doing pretty well. Currently, the Pidgeot's wings were glowing white - full of flying energy. There also seemed to be white trail of chrome floating right behind them. And as he swooped down low towards the Sentret - who had successfully landed softly on the grassy ground, mind you - his wings continued glinting in the bright rays of the sunlight.

The little Sentret yelped in surprise, it had just barely landed with a soft thud a few moments earlier - thus it was still regaining some balance. It began to run away, though Phoenix was much faster. The next instant, he had brought his wing down quickly, striking the foe roughly. When he ascended back into the air, the Sentret was lying on its back. This was presumably so due to the Wing Attack thrusting into its behind as it had tried to escape.

Slowly, it stood - bruises and all. There was a scared, tired emotion plastered on its face... Then, it gave a soft battle growl - though audible enough for Joe to hear. It was glaring the flying type down now, and I was quite sure Phoenix was getting a slight feeling of uncertainty and nervousness. He looked back at his trainer, gulping partially, and awaiting for further commands.

I evaluated the situation. Phoenix seemed really nervous, and I wouldn't be surprised if he screwed up anything I told him to. The Sentret was looking pretty beaten up and weak, but it still wanted to fight. I thought that I had a chance to fail, but I was pretty likely to succeed in catching the Sentret. I'd probably be releasing it later for something better, but it was nice practice. This wasn't like the heavily monitored, regulated Pokémon battling that Phoenix was used to.

"Don't worry, the fight should be done," I reassured my Pidgeot, and reached into my pocket, retrieving a Park ball. "You won't be losing any fights on my side," I said to myself. I pitched the ball at the Sentret, and waited for the outcome.

"Chill, Phoenix. It's just a Sentret. Be careful, though. Prepare an Air Slash and use it if it breaks out, got it?"

The Pidgeot didn't really get it. I decided I'd work that out later. I continued waiting to see what happened.

OOC: Been pretty busy, sorry to keep you waiting guys.

The other Sentret was hit by a raging Wing Attack. "Don't worry, the fight should be done," said Joe, reaching into his backpack to get a Park Ball, "You won't be losing any fights on my side." Joe seemed determined as ever, but Sentret was on its last leg... or maybe its last tail.

To be entirely honest, I wasn’t convinced the capture would work. Sentret still looked as though it could keep going. Still, I had been wrong before, and considering my horrible track record with captures AND battles, it was pretty likely that I was.

Joe chucked the ball at the Sentret. As it flew through the air, I wondered if he’d manage to catch it or not. Pokémon are instinctive creatures. They go by the fight or flight rule, just like humans do. I watched intently as it rotated mid-air, hurdling towards its target…

I tried to change the subject to calm down the female Sentret down a bit. I didn’t want her to run away, nor did I want her to despise Joe for pummeling her buddy, and after all, distraction is the best medicine. Or was it laughter… “So, what do you guys normally eat?” I asked, not really expecting an answer.

"Don't worry, the fight should be done," Joe reassured his Pidgeot as he reached down into his pocket. I, being the curious ranger I was, stepped a little closer to him to see what he had retrieved. It was round - orb-shaped, actually - and had green-colored detailing. I knew what it was immediately - of course, I did; my trainer was going to attempt capturing the Sentret with the Park Ball.

I watched, with some doubt, as he threw the ball towards the wild creature. Honestly, though quite a number of trainers would try catching a creature at this stage of battle, it was not exactly the best time. The Sentret still looked like it had some energy and power to keep on battling - not only that, but it did not look very much hurt or tired as one might want.

My eyes quickly shifted over to Daniel as the Park Ball's front part bumped into the wild Scout Pokemon. He was trying to calm down the female creature a bit, so as not to make Joe's situation work. I couldn't help but smile encouragingly at him as he changed the subject to food.

She pointed over to the grass, then, from seemingly out of nowhere, she produced an apple. No, wait, two apples. I rose an eyebrow in surprise. She now was biting into the first apple, then, slowly, handed the other to Clucky.

"Chill, Phoenix. It's just a Sentret. Be careful, though. Prepare an Air Slash and use it if it breaks out, got it?" Joe called to his Pidgeot who was warily waiting to see if they had captured the Pokemon. The flying type looked back at him with a quite confused expression.

My attention was snapped back to the battle at hand, watching the sphere shake uncontrollably. "It's fighting... Fighting in there," she mumbled to herself in a soft whisper. It continued to wobble about on the grass, until... It opened, releasing the wild Sentret. My eyes quickly followed the Park Ball, which was rolling away on the grassy ground.

"Joe, watch out! I'll go get your Park Ball!" I called back over my shoulder, seeing the Pokemon's small claws glow brightly white. It began to hop on its tail again, just like what it had done in preparation for Slam. This time, however, I knew the entity would attack with something else.

The ball was rolling away fast, and if I would not be able to get it, I just know I hadn't done my job well. We were taught that if the Park Ball was still intact, then it would still be in shape for usage later on. I quickly breathed in a sharp intake of air as I put on a burst of speed. I jumped forwards slightly, grabbing the ball before it could tumble into a different zone of the National Park.

I stood quickly, sprinting back to my trainers as I tried my best to brush off the dirt and grass. My Ranger Vest had not been this dirty since, well, never actually. I sighed, this was the profession I chose - so I had to live with the consequences when there were any.

Just as I got back to the battle, I saw Phoenix's face scratched. There weren't any very evident and bad wounds, just a scar or two - which could be healed quite easily. Also, he didn't seem to be in much pain, so the Fury Swipes attack must not have done too much damage.

As for the Sentret, it was gathering energy and power for yet another attack. Its small fists were curled tightly as they glowed an orangish-red color. The aura surrounding them was burning continuously as if it was really on fire. Hmm... Fire Punch? I shrugged, I did not know Sentrets could learn this move, except when it was specially taught. Perhaps this was a special creature, too.

I decided to hold onto Joe's Park Ball for a little longer until after the fight, or when he planned on using it again. The Scout Pokemon leapt into the air, its fist full of fire power.

"Teddson, fire a wide-angle Ice Beam at Shiftry's feet!"

The Ludicolo fired its Ice Beam which painted the grassy area a faint blue as the bolts of ice scattered and the ground began to freeze over. As the the beams crept closer to the dark type type, fear seemed to flash across its eyes. It glanced down as the first few streams of bolts struck its feet as it was trapped in a small disc of ice around it.

Its arms began to glow white and suddenly it smashed its arms into the ground. The ground gave a quick tremor as the Brick Break attack shattered all the ice on the ground as well as freeing its hands. Buzz was impressed and could see how it had managed to get the upper hand on Xatu. Siless seemed to be struggling so far, most of the attacks had appeared to be countered with relative ease.

Then the wild Shiftry's leaf-like arms began to glow gold. Buzz recognised this as Mimic. In a matter of minutes Shiftry had unleaed the same wide angle style Ice Beam at the Ludicolo's feet trapping it into place.

Buzz looked around at his trainer wondering how he would get out of this turn of events. Buzz thought he would have to act fast because the Shiftry appeared to be Plotting something, and given its recent behaviour; it definately couldn't be anything good.

    OOC: ... Yeah, I know :(
    ====
I was puzzled regarding how Sentret managed to get those apples, but it didn’t hold my attention for long. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Elisa dramatically running and diving for a Park ball. I laughed a little as she ran back trying to brush the dirt off. “You’re new to this, aren’t you?” I said, “If it makes you feel any better, this is the best team run I’ve ever been on.” I didn’t bother telling her that it was the ONLY team run I’d ever been on.

Clucky gladly took the apple, thanking Sentret for it, and then eating it in a few bites. I decided that I wanted to eat something as well, so I reached into my bag and pulled out a roast-beef sandwich and a bag of chips. I put the chips inside of my sandwich and then began to eat them all at once. Some people call it odd, I call it a chipwich.

Clucky seemed to be staring at something in amazement. I looked ahead just in time to see Joe’s enemy Sentret use Fire Punch. She looked back at mine smiling endearingly, as if expecting something.

    I couldn’t help but laugh.

"Teddson, disrupt its thoughts with an Uproar and try to break yourself out of the ice with Brick Break, then continue both attacks against the Shiftry." I covered my ears and motioned for Buzz to do the same; it wasn't likely that us humans would get out of the battle without permanent hearing damage otherwise. Thankfully, Pokémon were more resilient; Shiftry would have to hear me if I was to train it at my best, as I had no experience training deaf Pokémon.

Though my hands I heard Ludicolo's shrill shriek. Leaves, dust, and small stones shot off the ground in waves as the sound picked up the debris; at times, air compressed to the point of being a visible distortion at the point of sound waves (or so the attack made appear. I wasn't sure how, but Uproar tended to appear visible despite being sound. There are some things about Pokémon I can't quite understand just yet). Shiftry looked irritated by the attack. Honestly, that wasn't saying much; in my eyes, it looked irritated for the whole battle.

While shrieking, Teddson's right hand began to glow a bright white, followed by his left one (yet another effect of moves I didn't quite understand). He slammed each into the ice encasing his feet at a rhythm only heard by him. I needed him to break out as soon as possible; our only defense at the moment was our offense, and it isn't exactly easy to maintain an offense while immobile. At least not with something that focuses on dancing for combat.

"Come on, you got this! It's just a Sentret, Phoenix!" I said, slightly louder. I noticed it was charging to use Fire Punch. Wasn't that a TM move? I was caught a little off guard.
"Focus, use Air Slash. Try to make it Flinch, don't worry about the damage!" I yelled to try and get him to hear. If he was getting this bent up fighting a Sentret, I was a little worried how he would do against something formidable later.

Phoenix, with some trouble, understood my command, lifted one wing into the air, the tips of the feathers glowing a bright white. Then, the Pidgeot swung his other wing quickly, horizontally as so to catch the Sentret off guard. A slash of visible air was sent towards it.

"This thing is being annoying. Hope other battles don't shake up Phoenix so much," I said out. I sighed, hoping that Phoenix could manage to pull off another move or two before the Sentret got caught. This was more for practice so he could adjust to battling in the National Park, anyway.

I found myself smiling a bit when Daniel said this was the best team run he had ever been on. It caused me to wonder, though, if he had actually been on any other team runs. I shook it off and said, "Thanks.."

"Come on, you got this! It's just a Sentret, Phoenix!" Joe called to his Pidgeot, encouraging him to do better. He quickly ordered him to use Air Slash once more, seemingly caught off-guard by the Sentret's knowing of the move Fire Punch.

I raised an eyebrow, Phoenix looked as though he was having some trouble understanding commands. Then, I realized his nature was Naive - an inexperienced creature. Nevertheless, he managed to perform the move quite successfully.

While his wings glowed white with energy, and air pushing all around, the Sentret was caught a bit off-guard - and his attack weakening. The Blaziken, meanwhile, had gratefully taken the apple from the wild Scout Pokemon.

The Flying type swung his left wing, causing a slash of air to counter the opponent. With a bit of luck, the Air Slash damaged the Sentret - however, this little one had jumped just high enough, and just far enough, to make a few flames of fire to slightly bruise the Pidgeot. Now, though, the Normal type was down on the ground. She was breathing heavily, evidently tired...

I gave the Parkball back to Joe, telling him that now would be a good time, though not necessarily the best, to catch the little entity.

OOC: The Pidgeot is Naive, not Mild.

"I'll take your word for it," I replied to the ranger, accepting the Park Ball. I felt a little embarrassed with my Pokémon's performance, having to take things so seriously with a Sentret, but I could've done worse.

"Let's finish this up, then," I said to myself quietly. I bounced the Park Ball lightly in my hand, as if testing the weight, then pitched it at the Sentret.

"Shouldn't be a problem, Phoenix. Chill out," I reassured my Pokémon.
