Main RP: The Botanic Gardens

A bright, pink flash came from Ludicolo's direction. I expected it to be from River, though if she had lost control of her powers from her wounds, I wouldn't be surprised if that was her teleporting away.. We had to get to her quickly, if it was her.

"Shroomish, Sela, this way!" I shouted. I started towards the bushes that partially covered the pink flash; Sela quickly caught up to me and started leading the chase. "Sela, be prepared to use a Heal Pulse if it is River. She's going to need all the energy she can get." Sela nodded in affirmation. I wasn't sure how Shroomish could help if River was there; it seemed eager to do so though, seeing how it was bouncing around during its search.

"Shroomish, Sela, this way!" Si shouted. "Sela, be prepared to use a Heal Pulse if it is River. She's going to need all the energy she can get."

Buzz gave chase as well, Tesla raced alongside. they weaved there way through the undergrowth. They charged into a clearing between a patch of bushes and a wooded area behind the large greenhouse. Siless' Ludicolo was stood over a green bird. Her wings splayed out as blood stained the grass.

"River, no!" Buzz yelled racing over to his fallen comrade. Siless' Gardevoir created a ball of pale energy that exploded into a soothing wave that fell over the beaten Xatu.

River began to regain consciousness when the small Shroomish ran over and picked her up. The Shroomish showed an extreme exertion of strength and lifted the Xatu above its head and began to run around in circles.

"What is going on! Put me down!" yelled River, unleashing a wave of harmless psychic energy. Buzz couldn't help but chuckle, especially as it seemed River was ok.

Are you going to tell me what happened to you? Buzz asked his partner once the Shroomish had dropped River. River looked at Buzz and all of a sudden flew at him. Her sharp beak activated her own Poké Ball and she vanished in a flash of red energy. "I really hate it when she does that, well it looks like she will be okay, I guess you two can carry on with your battle now, although it seems to be quite friendly towards you now," Buzz said to Siless, "perhaps it might be better if we let it tag along as we continue our journey, it would preserve your Pokémon's health. Thanks so much for your help finding River."

Buzz looked into the wooded area behind where they had found River, he noticed a shadow flicker and disappear from sight. He didn't let Siless' see his facial reaction but he was sure whatever did this to River would appear soon.

The heavy rain had begun to lighten, as splits in the clouds appeared. Gentle beams of light broke through the darkness. Buzz internally chuckled at the timing of the fading rain.

Whatever attacked River was powerful, I was sure of that. If it wasn't a Legendary Pokémon, I figured might take it upon myself to train it so it wasn't hurting anything else in the area.. If it was Legendary, though, the most I would be able to do though would be to dissuade it from attacking again, though I had no clue how I would be able to do that. At the very least I could take a picture for documentation; if people knew what we were up against, we'd be able to get more information, and possibly more reports about the Pokémon if it's a known troublemaker.

I turned to Shroomish to thank it for its help, though Sela was already thanking it for me; it was likely Shroomish wouldn't know what I'm saying exactly, as most of a Pokémon's understanding of human languages is from exposure, and I still wasn't sure how much exposure most wild Pokémon in the park got to the trainers. Some may actively search for them, while others may be keeping away..

I took a Park Ball from my pack; I wasn't sure how easily Shroomish would come along or how much it would want to finish the fight. It seemed pretty happy being with us, but that could just make it want to prove itself to us more. I was fully prepared for a battle, and I was sure that Sela was too, but any energy we didn't have to use on Shroomish we could save for whatever hurt River Tam.

"Sela, does Shroomish want to come along with us? Or do you two want to finish your battle?" Sela was the type to be satisfied befriending a potential capture before finishing the fight, though she didn't like disappointing her opponents by such methods when they want to fight still.

 

NBP:

Buzz watched as the humanoid Sela began communication with the wild Pokémon that was currently bouncing around a little strangely. The small mushroom Pokémon nodded and walked over to Siless. Jumped actvating the Park Ball. It let out the usual ping indicating a successful capture.

Buzz smiled it wasn't often that trainers went for the friend approach over the usual battling. He walked over taking the Park Ball and slotting it in his sack. "This is where I explain how we look after the balls, but yeah you passed the test; you know the deal," Buzz said. "Well then, lets keep this moving."

Buzz looked up at the sky and saw the rain clouds disperse until it was a light drizzle. The sun broke through brightening the clearing. A beautiful rainbow erupted from the clouds, shimmering in the remaining drops of rain.

"So you caught your shroomish. We can either take a quick rest or we could carry on wandering? Tesla return," Buzz said pointing the PokéBall at the Luxray.

Resting sounded like a great idea after what had just happened. Not only had what happened to River Tam scared us, but Sela was considerably wounded during the Shroomish fight as well.

"Yeah, we should take a rest," I replied to my ranger. "Sela, make yourself a Wish and relax for a bit." A small shooting star-like object appeared over my Gardevoir's head for an instant, and she laid back against a nearby tree waiting to recover her stamina. Wish was useful in the park; through just her will and a bit of time, Sela could recover a large portion of her health and help keep my team from becoming completely disabled should we encounter a tough fight early.

River had retreated back to her ball earlier, so we couldn't keep an eye on her. If she stayed in her ball, though, at least we could just work to keep her out of trouble and back to a Pokémon Center for nursing. If we had to rush her to one, Sela's Teleport and Heal Pulse attacks would probably help out a lot, keeping River stable until she's in the nurses' care.

 

NBP:
"Yeah, we should take a rest," Siless replied. "Sela, make yourself a Wish and relax for a bit."

We took a quick seat as the small star erupted above the Gardevoir's head. Buzz knew the move, as River had access to it to. It was very handy technique in the park, as it was an easy way to recover health.

Buzz looked around the clearing as they sat down on a fallen log. "Well, lets see if I can get an answer out of this one." Buzz pulled River's ball back from his belt. Activating the mechanism, red light followed by a green bird erupted from the machine.

River fluttered briefly before landing on the ground, her wing looked bad. "River use Wish to heal yourself up, and then tell me what happened."

River looked at Buzz and followed Sela's lead emitting a small star just above her head. "I don't want to talk about it, ok?" River replied turning away.

"Oh come on, at least tell me who did it?" Buzz pleaded, but the bird gave no response and said nothing more. "Gah, she won't tell me what happened! We should keep our eyes open. So tell me a little bit about yourself Si, what's your best moment as a ranger so far?"

River seemed to have clammed up about the situation, even though we were all worried. Maybe it was because we were all worried. Either way, Sela didn't seem too happy about River not telling us about it, and started pestering her. I didn't think it would end well, but I figured that if Sela and Buzz hadn't been asking, I would, so I just let it happen.

"So tell me a little bit about yourself Si, what's your best moment as a ranger so far?"

I hadn't seen much of the park; I had been on one short run with a gym leader, and that finished as soon as he got what he came for, so I hadn't had much experience leading park-goers through. Instead, I had been focusing more on Pokémon care; with Sela's help, I had been treating wounds caused by carelessness or aggressive battling. I also did the standard Park Ranger paperwork, but I couldn't exactly say that that was the highlight of my days...

"It's not really a moment, I guess, but it feels great knowing I can just help out the Pokémon here, either by making sure they're healthy or by getting them good trainers."

Buzz contemplated this, it was a rather philisophical answer and he thought Si, seemed quite cool. It's just a shame he is into Grass types. Silly trainers.

"I got to say my best moment so far was a run over at the plant, the trainer and I found an injured Zapdos who was messing things up with the main generators. We had to work together to calm it down and the trainer was actually James' little brother." Buzz said. "Once we eventually got it calmed down we managed to get it healed up and freed."

With River and Sela both healed up; Buzz instructed Siless' that they should keep moving now. The weather was now fairly clear, the sun was high in the sky but faint clouds dimmed the light pleasantly. A cooling breeze was whirling around the area they were sat in.

Buzz hadn't forgotten about the shadow he had seen in the woods but was soon distracted a large turtle like Pokémon that had wandered in front of their path. The large tree that erupted from its shell signified it as a Torterra.

"Well care to try and capture the grass/ground type Torterra?" Buzz asked his trainer.

A Torterra had stomped out in front of the path; it looked slightly menacing, but it certainly wasn't what caused the trouble with River. Buzz asked if I wanted to try and capture it..

"I already have a Torterra, and I think she'd get a bit jealous if I brought back another." I whipped the digital camera out of my bag; I'd need a few practice shots before we come across whatever hit River if it was a Legendary Pokémon, and, as long as I was taking them, I might as well take pictures of rare Pokémon to help fund my next trip and the gym.

I hadn't expected many non-Grass-type Pokémon, but I was almost already a third through my run and half of the Pokémon I encountered were Normal-type instead. I almost regretted not capturing the Girafarig; I really wanted to specialize in Psychic-types at some point, but at the moment the gym was a far bigger concern. Grass-types had much higher priority, and I'd rather not expend energy on something I may not be able to train or help out here.

"I hope that wasn't directed at me, Buzz," River muttered inside his head.

Well if the Poké Ball fits. Buzz let out a little laugh. Buzz headed back onwards across the path that lead through the flowery field. Buzz glanced to the woods that ran along the borders of the Gardens and the Meteor Valley.

Suddenly the shadow reappeared at the edge of the tree-line. "Hey, what are you?" Buzz called into the woodlands. There was a blur of light, soon a white hairred wooden Pokémon appeared in front of the group. It made a swipe at River Tam, but fully healed she quickly managed to avoid the oncoming Night Slash from Shiftry.

Buzz was immediately dragged into River's mind once more.

You ok, River? You aren't your usual sarcastic self, Buzz thought.

"Oh, erm its nothing." In a flash of pink light she had vanished once more. River was in fluttering in a dark wooded area. She flew high into the air and looked out across the valley in the distance. There was a flash beneath her, River descended rapidly. A small green ball was fluttering from tree to tree.

In a blur of green, Shiftry took a swipe at the small stray Natu. All it hit was the green bubble, River was now stood in front of the Wicked Pokémon.

River knew trying to communicate telepathically would be pointless due to the part Dark typing of Shiftry. River was about to say something when the Shiftry began violently slashing at her. River easily dodged each swipe, leaping backwards from branch to branch.

"Hey, Teleport yourself back to the valley. I will take care of the Shiftry," River transmitted to the small Natu.

"Thank you!" Natu replied. There was a small flash of green light as the Natu vanished. In moment it had taken River to instruct the Natu, the Shiftry had fired off an dark sphere. The Shadow Ball attack struck River, she fell off her perch and fell to the ground.

In a flash of pink light she instinctively Teleported and passed out.

Buzz was forced back into his own mind, he shuddered. Looking out he spotted River still dodging oncoming Night Slash attacks being viciously swung at her.

"River return!" Buzz pulled her ball from his belt and quickly activated the mechanism. The Shiftry immediately stopped swiping turned to Sela and adopted a battle stance.

"This is the Pokémon that attacked River, she was defended a stray Natu that had crossed the border from Meteor Valley. It appears to have turned its attention to Sela," Buzz informed Siless. "Want to try and battle it?"

"Want to try and battle it?"

I did. I almost had to, after knowing how badly it hurt River. And Sela was vulnerable to it as long as she was out.

"Sela, save up your energy and return!" I held out her Pokéball and let the beam of light capture her. In that second she turned to me, partially of disappointment but partially of understanding. She wanted to be helpful; I'd make sure she could help when able, but at the moment it was too dangerous for her with the Shiftry hunting Psychic-types like it was.

"Teddson, you're up!" My Ludicolo had been lounging around, I suppose, but he was ready to go. He stood up to the Shiftry and assumed his own battle stance... hopping around from foot to foot rhythmically. If Teddson was anything other than a Ludicolo, it would have looked strange; however, he gained strength from music, and I had no doubt in my mind that he had a pretty good tune going in his head.

"Start with a Fake Out, and begin a Swords Dance while it's stunned. If it tries to hit you, incorporate a Brick Break into your rhythm." At once, Teddson cheerfully clapped three times; the third clap made the air visibly ripple, and I became temporarily deafened as it reached me. I couldn't tell how much it affected the Shiftry, but Teddson began Swords Dancing anyways, attempting to build up his high spirit even more for powerful physical strikes by hopping, spinning, and anything else that he deemed fun, I suppose.

Shiftry seemed to have wanted to fight Sela, though I was certain that after Teddson's attack, it would divert its attention. Shiftry would have to focus more, having lost its type advantage against its opponent, and instead gaining a high spirited foe. The most it had against opposing Ludicolo was Whirlwind or, if it had grown in power compared to even other wild Shiftry, Aerial Ace. Either way, it would take more than a gust of wind or a cut to take down Teddson's spirits.

 

NBP#1

"Botanic Gardens and Grass Pokemon, here we come!" I shouted cheerfully as the sun looked down upon me. And by we, I meant my Pokemon, the two trainers I would take, and me.

My brown shoulder bag was all-set - filled with medical supplies, my RDA (Ranger's Digital Assistant), around fifteen or so Pokedolls, a red-colored cap, and a huge water bottle. I was currently right outside Ranger Outpost Number One, double-checking that I had everything I needed for this Team Run.

I fondly fingered four Pokeballs, which contained Nia, my Staraptor; Kindle the Typhlosion; Liana the Victreebel; and my Accelgor. I decided to take along the latter three as they had not been into the park before, and I figured they could help me out. I also presumed Accelgor would love to see some other Shelmets and Accelgors in the Gardens.

I mentally debated about how I would get to the Botanic Gardens: I could go on Nia, or just use the teleportation device. Then again, I could also drive there. Not being able to decide, I waited at the Docks for the two trainers I would take, but they weren't the only things I was expecting... I also awaited their trainer files that were to be sent to me electronically.

Oh, the irony. Just as the thought earlier thought about files escaped my mind, my RDA beeped, which meant the National Park's main system had sent me the files. I quickly took a look: their names were Joe Ontarrg and Daniel Wiseman. Cool, two males. Turns out, one was seventeen years old, just like me, and the other was fourteen. The age gap, in my opinion, was not that large, but still a bit surprising. I also read that Joe had a flying type, Pidgeot, and Daniel had a Raichu that knew how to Fly. I shrugged, maybe they would want to fly there...

I continued to read their files on my yellow-colored device, looking up every once in a while to check in any one of them was there... Or maybe they would come together - I did not really know.

I walked onto the dock, feeling slightly lost, but confident. I was going into the Botanical Gardens to add a few team members to the roster. I was psyched, even though I had no idea where the ranger was. I looked around me, and saw a few people walking around. Daniel, the guy I was going into the park with, was nowhere to be seen. I also realized that I had forgotten what my ranger looked like, so my resolution was to lean back against the wall nearby and wait. Hopefully, Daniel would show up soon or the ranger would find me. Didn't mind the wait, really.

Glancing up, the sky was bright. The warmth felt nice, and I was invigorated. I was content with just sitting there if I needed. The three Pokémon I had brought with me were in their Pokéballs, sitting in my pocket. They would be vital to just about everything, as per usual. The Magnezone I had brought raised some confusion amongst my other Pokémon. I had just gotten it in a trade recently, and had barely used it. It seemed to me that it would just do well, with the typing and movepool it had. Salamander and Phoenix were natural choices, both very experienced and ready to go.

I wondered what Pokémon were going to appear. I was hoping for just about anything native to the Unova region, as I had never visited there, and didn't have any Pokémon that came from there either. There were also a few grass-types I had wanted too look into training but had just never gotten the chance to get. When me and Daniel looked at the list of Pokémon we could find in the Botanical Gardens, it just piqued my interest in general.

I glanced at my watch and sighed, leaning my head back and closing my eyes. I'm always the late one, usually. Why wasn't I seeing Daniel yet?

 

“Woah, Raiguy, slow down or we’re going to crash!!” I was flying through the air with a tight grip on my Raichu’s tail. It always confused me how Raichu and Pikachu managed to fly and use Surf, but it helped a lot when hunting water and flying-type Pokémon. My guess was that it had something to do with magnetism, or maybe they just used their giant ears. I looked up. Raiguy appeared to be gliding through the air, hardly moving a muscle. Yet another mystery unsolved by Daniel Wiseman, lousy detective...

I scanned the area for my partner, and my ranger. They appeared to be waiting at the docks. “Alright Raiguy bring us down nice and-” but before I could finish my sentence, Raiguy dove towards the ground, swooping upwards just before making contact. The result of this was me being dragged across the cold dirt and losing my grip on Raiguy’s tail. Luckily, a patch of long grass broke my initial fall.

I picked myself up and dusted off my sweater. I was used to colder climates this time of year, so when I realized I didn’t need it, I was pleasantly surprised. I took it off and stuffed it in my backpack. I noticed a figure in the distance carrying a brown shoulder bag; a few years older than me.

“Is that you Joe?” I asked from a distance. I shook off the pain and walked over to the docks. I tapped the figure on the back. “Sorry I’m late bro, I needed to find some cash for the entry and some guy at the gate was giving me hell.”

It was then I realized that this ‘mysterious figure’ was a girl. I hoped she wasn’t offended. “Sorry, I have a stigmatism!” I said pointing to my glasses. “Nice cover, Daniel.” I thought, though there was some truth to it.

“Sorry if I offended you. My name’s Daniel by the way. Have you seen my ranger?”

OOC: It's fine, lol. I meant to ask you guys this last time: Would you want me to keep shooting out Pokemon your way, or insert some NBPs between battles/encounters to help increase your Character Count? (Unless it is Common/Uncommon, since I'm sure you guys will be able to handle that.)

NBP#2

I jumped slightly as someone tapped my back. And I was even more shocked when he said, “Sorry I’m late bro, I needed to find some cash for the entry and some guy at the gate was giving me hell.” I stared at him blankly for a moment. I looked him up and down, he was shorter than me, so I figured he was Daniel - the fourteen-year old.

“Sorry, I have a stigmatism!” he quickly told me, pointing to his glasses. It was evident it was just a cover, he probably thought I was his partner - Joe, especially since Joe and I were both seventeen years old.

“Sorry if I offended you. My name’s Daniel by the way. Have you seen my ranger?” he continued slowly. Well, I was right, he was Daniel.

"Oh, don't worry about that, you have stigmatism, after all," I replied, playing along with his cover. "About your ranger, that would be me. The name's Elisa Fleming."

"Do you have any idea where Joe is?" I asked. He shook his head, so I led him around the Ranger Outpost, hoping to find his partner.

Eventually, we saw a male teenager leaning against a wall nearby - his eyes closed. "Hey, I presume you're Joe?" I said, nudging him a little. "I'm Elisa, and I'll be your ranger today. I'm sure you already know Daniel." I gestured over to the trainer behind me.

When his eyes opened, I told them about our possible means of transportation. "So, we can use the Transportation device, but we'll have to go one by one as the station is not that large. We could fly there as I have Nia, my Staraptor, you have a Pidgeot"-I looked over to Joe, then to Daniel-"And you have a Raichu that know the HM Fly. Our last, but not the least, option is to use this jeep. I know how to drive, so you don't have to worry about that."

I looked at both of them intently, wondering which option they would like to take. Personally, I'd use any except for the Teleportation Device. Why? Well, for one, it was quite unsafe as we'd have to go one by one; and, number two, the feeling you would get was less than pleasant, if you ask me.

Flying there seemed like a sensible option, as long as Daniel agreed to it. Though I would think it would be quite hard for him to fly by using his Raichu - however he does that...

I shook my head a little bit. Had I fallen asleep? "I'm Elisa, and I'll be your ranger today," I heard, and I started paying attention.
"Elisa, huh?" I noticed Daniel behind her. I made eye contact, as to let him know I noticed him. As I listened to our transportation options, I thought about them.

"Phoenix isn't too fond of carrying me. I'd really prefer not flying, if only too keep him comfortable for the visit. I really don't mind teleportation or car though, so I can leave that up to Daniel. I'm a lot more psyched for what we see when we actually get there, anyway. The sightseeing from the car ride could be fun, though."

Phoenix didn't really like going really high off the ground for extended periods of time, but I didn't really know why. I was hoping that would wear off once I got my hands on a Fly HM, but that was for later. I was ready and psyched for the park visit. "I'm ready to go off, when and regardless of what we choose. Your thoughts, Daniel?" I asked him, walking away from the wall a few feet. I didn't feel choosy, I just wanted to get there and start already!

 

OOC: Yeah, I need more time to rack up a few characters if I’m gonna be catching any rare Pokémon.

I nodded at Joe, uttering a quiet, “’Sup.”, just loud enough for him to hear. I then pondered the three options presented before us. Flying was something Joe wasn’t comfortable with, so I ruled that one out immediately; especially since Raiguy’s little sadistic prank. The little guy’s always trying to mess with me, but we usually get along. I raised him from a Pichu, after all. He was just going through his… adolescent phase.

“Yeah, I’d rather just take the car if Joe doesn’t want to fly.” I answered. “A little sightseeing will be nice, even though I’ll probably fall asleep in the car. Teleporting or flying would probably be the faster options, but the last time I tried to teleport somewhere, I ended up in the middle of a desert.” But that story was another time, and a pretty farfetched one at that. I was eager to get on the road as soon as possible. “So, if everyone’s okay with this… can we go now?”

 

NBP#3

I tried reading the expressions on their faces, but I could not unlike when it came to reading faces of Pokemon. All I knew was, they were silently debating in their minds - pondering about the three options presented to them.

"I'm ready to go off, when and regardless of what we choose. Your thoughts, Daniel?" Joe continued, seeming to have interrupted his partner's train of thought, as he turned to the younger teen before walking a few feet from the wall.

So, if everyone’s okay with this… can we go now?” Daniel said, ignoring Joe's earlier interruption

They were certainly very excited about this Park run, so the means of transportation did not seem to matter. Since flying seemed to be out of the question, and Daniel did not exactly want to teleport, I figured driving there would be the best option.

I nodded, leading them towards the jeep. "Hop in," I told them, not really minding where they chose to sit. I slid into the driver's seat, slamming the door tightly shut, and starting up the engine.

The road wasn't really filled with wildlife, sure, there was grass everywhere besides the path we were driving one, but other than that, there was nothing. Occasionally, there would be patch, whether big or small, of long grass; but the much shorter weeds had their own share of the ground as well.

We soon passed the Great Lakes' gate, and then the main entrance to the Woods as well. Quite a number of wild, free Pokemon lurked about on the driveway, thought none seemed to be interested in the vehicle as they were pretty much used to it already. Soon, we came to a fork in the road. The left one seemed to be very dirty, and the atmosphere that came from deeper into the path was dusty and foggy. It was the road to Mount Deckbi. The right path, on the other hand, now had wildlife blooming. Most of the grass cut into the road, and the scent of fresh air was soothing as it filled the atmosphere. We, of course, took the road to our right-hand side.

All three of us jumped off the jeep, walking towards a big gate. The full splendor of the Botanic Gardens awaited us just behind this gate. I was about to lead my trainers into the Gardens when a brown-colored creature tugged at my jeans.

It had a big round body with stubby arms and two small feet. It also had a striped tail which it used to stand. The creature had long black ears, a white ring on its belly, and white paw pads. "Tret--!" it cried with a slightly timid and shy tone of voice. It slowly started to back away, but it had a battling spirit emerging from within.

I gasped, suddenly realizing there was another Sentret behind the first. This one had its head partially bent. I walked over to the second creature, going over to pat its head. But it backed away in fright, turning instead to Daniel. The other followed suit, growling in a small voice at Joe for a battle.

"Well, would ya look at that? Two Sentrets, and we are not even really in the zone itself yet!" I exclaimed, turning to Joe and Daniel. "Would you like to battle them?"

“Hop in.” said Elisa. I opened the door and jumped in the back seat, face pressed against the window in my usual sleeping pose. Raiguy took the seat on the other side, but he seemed to be having trouble with the seatbelt. “Alright, I’m going to sleep for a bit, if any bedbugs try to come over here, give ‘em all hell…”

I remained passed out for a little while. I had a dream I was battling a wild Venusaur that was terrorizing the Pokémon of the Botanic Gardens. The green beast was no match for my awesome Blaziken. When it was defeated, all the creatures of the gardens cheered for me and a bunch of attractive teenage girls came over to kiss me.

“Mmph… Ladies… one at a time, there’s plenty of me to go around…” I murmured in my sleep. It was only then that I realized what I was saying and woke up. “Uh, it’s not what it sounds like, I swear…” but Elisa and Joe had already gotten out of the car. Thank goodness. Almost immediately as I exited the vehicle, a Sentret turned towards me. It looked absolutely terrified. “Hello little one…”

I recalled what I learned from watching the nature channel too much. I crouched down and offered my palm to sniff. It worked with domestic Pokémon, but I wasn’t sure about wild Pokémon. Raiguy got out of the car almost immediately after and ran over to the Sentret. He was carrying a large sack that was even bigger than him. I had forgotten my backpack in the car. He handed it to me and then gave a friendly hand-gesture to the wild Pokémon. At this point, I was completely ignoring Joe and Elisa. She had said something about battling the little guy, but that didn’t seem fair. Raiguy would absolutely decimate it, leaving it scared for life, or worse, dead. Also, in the past, Raiguy had been quite aggressive and mischievous in his battles in the past.

“Aw, you don’t want to fight, do you?” I whispered. I reached out to pat Sentret on the head, hoping that it wouldn’t run away.

I rode in the Jeep, watching the scenery. It wasn't too eventful. A forest, a mountain, all sorts of things. I'd have to make a visit later to those places. Daniel was sitting in the back, and from the sounds of it, he was having fantasies about women. I guess he could've been thinking of worse things.

We turned and were entering the gardens, but two Sentret stopped us. The ranger offered us the chance of battling them. I was hoping for something a little more exciting, but I had plenty of balls to spare, and it's something I'd been wanting.

"Sure, I'll battle it," I said out. Daniel was busy making friends with his encounter. "Phoenix, be careful with it," I said, tossing the ball into the air. It flew up, popped open, and released a Pidgeot, who flapped its wings to steady itself. He landed on the ground, and saw the situation. He looked at me, confused.

"We're gonna catch the Pokémon right there, got it?" I explained. Phoenix nodded in approval.

"So, just go at it, then?" I asked the ranger.
