“Well...I’d think introductions are in order. I’m Miho, trainer extraordinaire,” Miho introduced herself. “This is Christine, my first Pokémon ever.” She pointed to the Gardevoir whom I’d seen battling Nidoqueen. Christine would have to be a great trainer to get her Gardevoir to battle at the level that I’d seen her at.

“I’m Dee,” I said as I extended my arm to shake hands with the trainer. I pointed over to Luxray, whose attention was fixed on Miho and her Pokémon. “This is Luxray. I’ve been friends with her since I was little. I believe you’ve already met Dragonite.”

I didn’t bring anymore of my Pokémon, mainly because I didn’t really need them for a run through the woods.

“I look forward to seeing how well you can handle yourself in the park,” I continued. “If you ever need anything, feel free to let me know.”

The ranger introduces himself as Dee, shaking Miho’s hand. Miho smiles and shakes his hand back, nodding. “I look forward to seeing how well you can handle yourself in the park,” he continued. “If you ever need anything, feel free to let me know.”
“Will do, Ranger Dee.” Miho smiles again before continuing to walk with him, beginning to wonder how much father until they leave the swampy area. Jake had taken her near the entrance to the pine grove, but the smell of the swamp was still getting a little overpowering.
She begins to think a little as the group walks, looking at Dee. “Dee...can you do me a favour?” She waits until he asks her what before continuing. “Well...when we get to the next area...I...I think I want to catch Igglybuff properly.”

(If you decide to battle a Pokemon, let me know the gender in the same post that you accept the battle.)
As Miho, our Pokémon and I continued on the path that she and her previous ranger had already established, she stopped to ask me a question. The Igglybuff that she held in her arms hadn’t been captured properly yet, and she wanted to know if she could do so when we got to the next area.

“Sure,” I replied. “That’ll fine by me.”

I talked while I continued to walk. I hadn’t noticed until now, but there was a swamp next to us. The swamp gave off a putrid and nauseous odor. The scent was caused by the high concentrate of poison-type Pokémon that lived there. I couldn’t wait to get out of this area.

Of course, as luck would have it, a small purple snake slithered from behind a nearby bush.

“Ekans!” It chanted as it rattled its tail. The Pokémon looked up at us with its small, beady eyes and hissed.

The Pokemon reminded me of a story that my teacher read to me in Kindergarten at the Pokemon Academy. An Ekans was one of the bad guys who tried to steal berries from the a group of rescuers. Needless to say, it failed to carry out its plans.

    I looked over at Miho.

“Do you want to capture this Pokémon?” I asked her as I pointed down at the little snake who was trying, yet failing, to intimidate us.

The group walk on through the marsh, Miho chatting away with Dee as they go. A sudden hiss stop’s Miho dead in her tracks as her eyes widen, literally freezing in place. “I...Is...Is that...”
A small, purple snake Pokémon slithers into the scene, Dee slightly in front of them. He’s obviously not at all perturbed by the slithering Pokémon, not noticing Miho has stopped. He looks back at her as he asks if she wants to capture it, however Miho hardly hears it, just staring at the poison type. “S...Snake....I...I hate...snakes...”
Christine looks between her trainer and the Pokémon before quickly moving to the side of her and taking hold of her around the shoulders, shimmering for a few seconds. The two and Igglybuff shimmer for a few seconds before disappearing, reappearing just a couple of metres forward. Christine then looks back at Dee and nods, clearly giving him a “Don’t ask” look.

I had asked Miho if she wanted to battle Ekans. I was kind of surprised when I didn’t really get an answer back. When I looked around, Miho, along with her Gardevoir and the baby Igglybuff that she had befriended, had teleported to the other side of the snake. I was about to ask her what was wrong, but she gave me a face that said, “Don’t ask.” So, I refrained from asking her what the matter was, calculating that she was probably afraid of snakes.

I stepped over the snake and walked over to Miho and her Pokémon with a slight smirk on my face. I looked down so that no one could see my face. Ekans, on the other hand, followed me with its eyes, steadily rattling its tail. After seeing that its efforts to scare me had failed, it slithered back to the bush that it had come from.

“Well, let’s go on,” I said. “I think I can see the entrance to Pine Grove.”

There wasn’t really an entrance per se, but rather, the trees started to grow more scarcely, the fog that was produced around the swamp cleared up, and the pungent odor from the swamp was nonexistent. Suddenly, what was dark and dull became lush and green. We were in a wide open field where many bug Pokémon stayed.

“So, you did want to battle Igglybuff now, didn’t you?” I asked Miho.

    OOC: Right, lets say female.

The group finally leaves the stench of the swamp as they came to a large, open field beautifully illuminated in the moonlight, the sound of bug Pokémon heavy in the air. Dee looks at Miho as they stop. “So, you wanted to battle Igglybuff now, didn’t you?”
Miho nods softly as she looks down at the baby Pokémon with a smile. “Your gonna be my friend for real now Igglybuff.” Igglybuff gives off a happy sound before being put down, Miho looking at Christine. “Mind taking this one?”
The Gardevoir nods, almost drifting in front of her trainer before falling into a ballerina pose, looking at the baby Pokémon with a smile. Miho thinks. “Lets take it easy on her for now Christine...I want you to use Double Team.”
Christine nods as she closes her eyes, hands held in front of her chest. For a second, she shimmers before seeming to disappear briefly. A second Gardevoir appears, followed by a third, and finally a fourth, all four standing between Miho and the Tiny Balloon Pokémon.

    vs. Igglybuff BP1

Miho nodded softly and set Igglybuff down.

“You’re gonna be my friend for real now Igglybuff,” she said to the little baby Pokémon. The little Pokémon cheered a bit while being put down. Afterwards, Miho asked her Gardevoir to take the battle. The humanoid Pokémon swiftly moved into the battlefield.

Lets take it easy on her for now Christine...I want you to use Double Team,” the trainer commanded. Gardevoir nodded and started to faintly disappear. Suddenly, there were four Gardevoir, only three of which were real. The four Gardevoir stood in a straight line in front of Miho and me.

Igglybuff cheered at the sight of the four Gardevoir. Then, she started to clap her hands and jumped up and down in joy. As she did so, she started to glow a faint flow. Suddenly, there were four Igglybuff to counter the four Gardevoir! I determined that Igglybuff must have used Copycat, an attack that allowed the user to copy the opponent’s last successfully used move.

At first, Miho had gained the advantage by having a 3 in 4 chance of successfully avoiding Igglybuff’s attack, but now, Igglybuff had leveled the playing field by copying Gardevoir Double Team attack. I wondered what Miho had in mind to do next.

Christine’s double team went off without a hitch, easily creating her four clones. Miho smiles a little at the sight, knowing that even with the advantage, she could trust Christine to keep her cool and not go overboard with her attacks.
However, as Igglybuff sees more of her friends appear, she begins to jump up and down with happiness as she applauds.
Miho’s eyes widen as Igglybuff disappears, returning with another Igglybuff, and another, and finally another. Now there was an even number each Pokemon, the Gardevoir never taking their eyes off the happy balloon. Miho closes her eyes a little. “Alright...Christine, I need you to use Magical Leaf...but...hold back, please.”
Each Gardevoir raise their hand as four glowing leaves appear, one for each Gardevoir. They then look at the Igglybuff before sweeping their hands forward. The leaves fly at the baby Pokemon, each one aiming for one of them, as Miho crosses her fingers, hoping it doesn’t hurt too much.

    vs. Igglybuff BP2

“Alright...Christine, I need you to use Magical Leaf...but...hold back, please,” Miho commanded her Pokémon.

Each of the clones attacked by sweeping their hands forward. They each unleashed a bunch of leaves, covered in all sorts of colors, on the Igglybuff. One of them was bound to hit the Pokémon as they approached the baby balloon Pokémon.

At the sight of the four sets of leaves coming towards her, Igglybuff curled her already round body into an even more spherical shape. When the leaves hit, three of the shadows that Igglybuff had created vanished in thin air. The real Igglybuff was hit, but because of its last minute countermeasure, it was not hurt too much.

After Gardevoir’s attack had ended, Igglybuff uncurled her body and started to sing. It wasn’t as in tune as Jigglypuff’s song was, but it was still enough to render defenseless anyone who listened. I covered my ears. I couldn’t effectively guide anyone if I was asleep. Luxray crouched down and did the same.

I could see Gardevoir started to get drowsy. Because Igglybuff was inexperienced at using the attack, there was more time to counter. I wondered what Miho would do to prevent Gardevoir from falling asleep.

Igglybuff was clever. She saw an attack coming and knew instinctively to protect herself, before opening her mouth, a soft, lyrical sound drifting out. Although her song wasn’t yet as nice on the ears as a Jigglypuff, or as captivating as a Wigglytuff, it was still soothing , making all present feel drowsy just by hearing it.
Miho brings her hands to her ears quickly, watching the battle. Christine wouldn’t be able to stay awake long, her clones already beginning to fade, and once she was asleep Igglybuff was free to do whatever she wanted...unless Christine wasn’t the only one asleep.
“Alright then Christine, I want you to teleport right in front of Igglybuff and use Hypnosis!”
Christine nods as she pulls herself into a ballerina pose, beginning to shimmer. She soon flashes white before disappearing momentarily. However, she soon reappears right in front of Igglybuff as she begins to chant softly under her breath. She stares intently at the baby Pokemon as her eyes begin to glow blue, the air between the two rippling as Christine attempts to put the pink Tiny Balloon Pokémon to sleep. Miho crosses her fingers as she silently prays for Christine to manage it before succumbing to Igglybuff’s singing.

    vs. Igglybuff BP3

(I'm sorry, I rolled for the sleep counters, and that's what I got. :S)

Igglybuff had managed to protect herself using Defense Curl, and now, she was trying to put her opponent to sleep. Miho, however, had other plans. She decided that if her Pokémon was going down, then Igglybuff was going down with her.

“Alright then Christine, I want you to teleport right in front of Igglybuff and use Hypnosis!”

The Gardevoir nodded and teleport right in front of Igglybuff. Then, she started to chant. I couldn’t hear exactly what was going on because I had my ears covered, but it sounded like the Pokémon was chanting the words to a spell. I watched as both Pokémon seemed to be playing chicken, waiting to see who would fall asleep first.

Pretty soon, both Pokémon were out cold. Gardevoir was asleep, yet strangely, she was still standing up. Igglybuff had also fallen asleep. Her usually round body was deflated a little. It seemed strange to have both Pokémon sleeping at the same time. As a matter of fact, some Pokémon tournaments banned having both Pokémon asleep at the same time.

I wasn’t really sure what Miho’s plan was, but I hoped that she had something planned. It was actually a good thing for Igglybuff to be asleep, but Gardevoir looked like she would be knocked out for a while. Igglybuff, however, looked like she would be waking up soon.

Both Pokémon fell asleep at once, another impressive feat from the baby Pokémon. Even more impressive, although Christine seemed out for the count, Igglybuff was already stirring slightly.
Miho smiles. “Oh you are so mine...” From her belt, she grabs two Pokéballs. “Alright then Christine, take a break.” A red light connects the sleeping Gardevoir and the Ball, Christine soon disappearing with a flash of red.
Miho quickly throws the other ball as if she was a professional pitcher, a slender dragonoid Pokémon appearing with a loud “Dragonair!”
Miho grins softly as she sees the Pokémon. “Alright Yuna, I want you to use wrap on that sleeping Igglybuff, but don’t hurt it too much.”
Yuna looks at the baby Pokémon before quickly slithering over, wrapping its long body around Igglybuff. Her body covers the entire Pokémon before squeezing against it, just enough to keep it held in place.

    vs. Igglybuff BP4

(Sorry it's been a while. Loads of homework and exams made my time limited.)

Both Pokémon were down for the count, at least for a little while. The baby Pokémon, however, was already starting to wake up. In response, Miho recalled her Gardevoir, who would probably be out of commission for a while. Then, she released a Dragonair to take over the battle, and commanded her to use Wrap.

The Pokémon slithered over to the sleeping Igglybuff, and wrapped her body around her. She took special care not to squeeze too tightly, so that she wouldn’t cause her foe to faint. The Pokémon seemed to follow her trainer’s orders perfectly. She must have trusted her trainer very much.

Upon feeling the pain caused by the dragon’s Wrap attack, Igglybuff woke up and started to squeal. She couldn’t move her small body. Her already-limited attack list was even further limited by the inability to move.

Suddenly, for no reason, Igglybuff started to smile. Then, she kissed the Dragonair. Little pink hearts started to form around the two Pokémon. Dragonair immediately loosened her grip and fell to the ground. She picked herself up and slithered back to trainer with erratic movements.

Wrap wakes up Igglybuff with a start, but it doesn’t let itself be caught out for long. A Sweet Kiss is placed on Yuna’s head, confusing her. Why would her opponent kiss her?

Yuna bins to slither back to Miho as she thinks: confusion would make this battle difficult, but not impossible. And there was still the chance to incapacitate Igglybuff. “Alright Yuna, try to use Twister on Igglybuff, and then follow up with a Thunder wave!”

The combo is risky, but if it work, then it should hopefully deal enough damage to beat the baby Pokémon. First off, Yuna’s eyes should glow as she begins to control the weather. The wind should then begin to pick up, concentrating around the tiny balloon. A small twister should then pick up around Igglybuff, enough to damage her. Then, Yuna should charge up an electrical current throughout her skin, which should then build up at her head. It should then fire at the twister, which should spread the electricity and hit Igglybuff all around. Not enough to hurt her, but enough to numb her body. Miho crosses her fingers slightly, hoping her plan works.

    vs. Igglybuff BP5

Igglybuff’s Sweet Kiss had left Dragonair in a confused state that caused her to stagger erratically back to her trainer. After letting the Pokémon calm a bit, Miho called for another attack. She knew that it was risky, but she realized that she could probably level the playing field.

“Alright Yuna, try to use Twister on Igglybuff, and then follow up with a Thunder wave!” She commanded the Pokémon.

Dragonair’s eyes started to glow as a small tornado started to brew in the area Igglybuff was in. It suddenly picked up speed and rapidly spinned with Igglybuff in the middle, causing damage to the little Pokémon and limiting its movement.

Dragonair paused a bit. She was still in a state of confusion, and was trying to figure out what her trainer had ordered her to do next. Then, after a few seconds, she was able to clear her mind of all of the opposing thoughts that flooded. She charged towards Igglybuff with just enough electricity surrounding her body to limit Igglybuff’s movement further. Finally, she hit the Pokémon, who fell to the ground. Static electricity surrounded the baby’s body, signaling that she was paralyzed.

The Pokémon stayed there, unable to move. The paralysis had temporarily taken its toll on her, making her too weak to do anything. Strange thoughts started to cloud Dragonair's mind once more, putting her in a state of confusion again.

OOC: Might not be able to reply for a while, problem with my laptop at home

Miho smiles a little as Igglybuff is to dazed to do anything; now is the perfect time to attempt a capture. “Alright then, Yuna, try to get it in another wrap if you can.”

If Yuna’s confusion doesn’t take hold, she should manage to wrap her body around Igglybuff enough to constrict her movements. Combined with the paralysis, that should hopefully be enough for Miho to capture her.

Miho reaches into her bag as she pulls out a Hyper Ball, kissing it for good luck. “Alright Igglybuff...your mine.” She twists around before flinging the Pokéball like a professional pitcher, sending it flying at the paralyzed baby pokemon.

    vs. Igglybuff BP6

(Okay Thanks for telling me. ^^)

“Alright then, Yuna, try to get it in another wrap if you can,” Miho commanded her Pokémon.

Dragonair nodded in acknowledge. She charged the Igglybuff, ready to coil around the baby Pokémon, but stopped at the last minute and looked at her trainer confused. I sighed after seeing what had just happened. Fortunately for Miho and Dragonair, Igglybuff didn’t have much luck either. The Pokémon struggled to get to her feet, only to fall back down. I know I shouldn’t have, but a small grin came across my face.

Miho, despite things not going exactly the way she had wanted, took out a Hyperball. After kissing it for good luck, she tossed it at the fallen baby Pokémon, Igglybuff. The ball bounced off and turned to aim at Igglybuff. Then, it released a brilliant stream of light that engulfed the Igglybuff and sucked her within. The Hyperball shook from side to side for a few seconds.

A little while later, the Pokeball stopped shaking and stood still. I walked over to make sure the battle was over. After confirming that the Pokémon was securely inside of the Pokeball, I picked it up and put it into a special compartment in my bag.

“Congratulation on your capture,” I said to Miho as I walked back to the trainer.

Dragonair snapped out of her confusion and slithered back over to us. She made joyful sounds as she approached us. I smiled and waited for Miho to do whatever she needed. When she was ready, we would continue through the grove to see what Pokémon were in store for us.

Miho grins as the Hyper Ball shakes a few times before stopping, resting in place. She immediately runs up to the ball with a squeal before hugging it to her chest. “I think I’ll call you Iggles.” She smiles happily before looking at the Dragonair at her feet, kneeling down to stroke her head affectionately. “You did amazing Yuna...your really getting better at your combination attacks. Take a rest, okay?”

The dragon Pokémon nods as her trainer takes her ball, withdrawing her with a slight smile. Miho then reaches back to Christine’s ball, releasing the still sleeping Gardevoir with a red flash. She smiles softly before shaking her gently. “Christine, time to wake up.”

Soon the humanoid opens her eyes with a yawn, stretching before looking at her trainer, who gives a grin. “We caught her.” Christine smiles and nods before falling into place next to her trainer, still slightly groggy from her nap. Miho nods with a smile at Dee. “Ready when you are.”

After congratulating her Dragonair for a job well done and recalling the Dragon-type Pokémon, Miho released her Gardevoir, who had been put to sleep earlier on in the encounter.

“Christine, time to wake up,” she said to the sleeping Pokémon. “We caught her.”

Gardevoir yawned, stood up, and walked to her trainer’s side. She smiled upon hearing the good news. I couldn’t help but wonder how Gardevoir felt after sleeping through the match. I shrugged it off. Gardevoir had set up for Dragonair to finish, so I’d say she did an excellent job.

Miho turned towards me and informed me that she was ready to go. I nodded and led her deeper into the grove. It was a wide open space with few trees. Off in the distance, I could see a small stream. I motioned for Miho to follow me towards the stream.

As I was walking, however, a small blue zigzag seemingly floated past us.

“Do you see that?” I asked Miho, pointing at the peculiar sight.

Before Miho could answer, the stripe was accompanied with the body of a Kecleon. All of the Kecleon that I had seen before, however, sported a purple-ish stripe. This one must have been one of the odd-colored ones, a shiny Kecleon. It was a rare sight to see indeed.

“So, are you interested in a shiny Kecleon?” I asked Miho.

Dee suddenly points out a strange zigzagging shape as they walked, the shape slowly being joined by the body of a gecko like Pokémon. Kecleon are rare enough as it was, however to find a shiny one was possibly a once in a life time opportunity. Still, it wasn’t really bothering them.

“Hm...I’m alright for now. Although...” Miho gives her normal childish grin. “Everyone at home will want to see this.” She immediately digs into her bag, pulling out a hand held digital camera with a smile. She then aims it at the Kecleon, hoping to get it before it disappears. “Say cheese.” With that, she presses the button, a bright flash appearing.
