Ranger Jake​

After Yuna was finished pummeling her trainer she coiled her massive body and slithered towards the Savannah Scrub path.

"Okay, then let's go," I said leading Niho along the path with Saline at my side.

As we walked along the path, the rainforest-like foliage melted away to more sturdy plants. I kept seeing glimpses of Pokemon far off in the forest. After about 10 minutes of walking, I felt something large land on my back.

Neho screamed and Saline swatted it off with a swift smack with her fin. I whirled around to see a Spinarak standing in a playful stance, clicking its pincers joyfully.

"It looks like it wants to play. What do you want to do?"

Miho walks with Jake, Saline and Dragonair down the path, looking around as they go. Every now and then, she catches a glimpse of a tail snaking through the trees, or hears a bush rustling. Suddenly, a large green and black spider drops down, landing squarely on Jake’s back.
“AHHHHH!” Miho screams in surprise as she jump’s back, having not expected a bug Pokémon to drop down so quickly. Saline is unaffected though, calmly swotting the bug of its trainers back. Jake asks if she wants to play with it, making her think. “Well, no thanks. I’m not really that interested in bug types. Still though...” She pulls a digital camera out of her bag, smiling. “I guess it would make a cute picture, for a Souvenir.” She aim’s the camera at Spinarak, pressing the button as a light flashes.

 

Ranger Jake​

Spinarak covers its sensitive eyes when the camera flashes and then surprised at the brightness, scurries off into the brush. I shrugged and kept moving.

The path gradually got wider and wider until it spilled out onto a wide plain. There were hiphigh grassesso most small Pokemon weren't visible. Off in the distance I saw a Fearow circling in the air and I noticed a Volbeat buzzing around the trunk of a far off tree.

WE kept walking under the hot noon sun until we game to a claering of the grass under a large tree and decided to take a rest. I pulled out 2 water bottles and we both drank for a while panting in the heat. Yuna coiled up around the tree and stuck her head up in the canopy. There was a loud shrieking sound and we watched as Yuna withdrew her head to reveal an enraged Mankey jumping up and down on it comacally. We both laughed and I said,

"I guess you can battle it if you want but this is a pretty good photo-op."

Miho stands under a tree with Jake, both of them drinking water in the shade as Yuna explores the tree. Both of us suddenly hear her shriek as she look up, Yuna sharply pulling her head away, a wild Mankey jumping around on it. Miho can’t help but laugh at the site, this not being the first time Yuna’s gotten in trouble for poking around where she shouldn’t. “Don’t let it bully you Yuna...Thunder Wave!”
Yuna lets out a small, indignant sound from Mankey jumping on her, eyes flashing a little as small jolts of electricity spark around her. They soon converge, firing towards the small pig nosed Pokémon quickly.

 

Ranger Jake​

Yuna unwound her body from the tree and shook the Mankey off. When she had done that, she opened her mouth and shot tiny blue orbs of electricity like bullets at the Mankey, not strong enough to do any real damage, but it paralyzed the Mankey.

Mankey squealed in pain and looked up at Yuna angrily. It slowly held out its hand and then swept it side to side, sending sharp, golden, stars flying towards the Dragonair. Yuna winced when the stars hit her, but was fine.

The stars fly at Yuna’s face, causing her to close her eyes a little and pull back. However, she’s soon ready again, staring at Mankey as if wondering why it would attack her.
Miho smiles a little as she see’s Yuna recover, stretching out her fingers a little."Alright Yuna, let's go nice and easy on it...use Wrap, but try not to hurt it much."
Yuna lets out a loud “Dragonair!” before diving at the Mankey. Her body quickly coils around the fighting type as she attempts to squeeze down, just hard enough to try to keep it in place and keep it's paws pinned to it's side

 

Ranger Jake​

Yuna acted super fast coiling around Mankey before it could move to dodge. Mankey soon found its hands and feet severely restricted by Yuna's body. Unable to use these, it decided to smash its head into Yuna's body viciously, causing much more pain than the attack before. Yuna was forced to uncoil her body to avoid further risk.

Mankey was hurt, but not severely. The electricity danced around its body making it slower and the wrap had made it difficult to move.

For a while, it looks like Yuna’s attack is successful. However, Mankey soon breaks free by hitting its head hard against Yuna, causing her to recoil with a shocked cry. Miho thinks a little as she survey’s the scene. “This Mankey’s a scrappy one...still, scrappy can be good.” She smiles to herself, a plan forming in her mind. “Alright Yuna, time to practise a combo attack. I want you to use Agility, and then use your momentum for a Slam attack!”
Yuna looks at her trainer for a brief second, Combo attacks having given her difficulty before. Still, she nods obediently as she begins to streamline her body, pressing her ears close to herself as she slithers around faster. However, before reaching her maximum speed she quickly moves into Mankey, trying to quickly slam into it.

When Miho first ordered the combo attack I was surprised, her nature would surely prevent anychance of success. But surprisingly Yuna nodded obediently and began to slither circles around the Mankey. I watched as the Makey tried to attack but couldn't, the paralyzation setting in for the first time. It staggered and fell to its knees. I almost felt sorry for it.

Yuna was moving circles around Mankey ever faster. She suddenly whipped her beaded tail into the circle she had created, smashing it into Mankey making him fall to the ground on all fours.

OOC: wow didn't think that would actually work lol, was just trying to fit in a fail on my half. Thats why I put in the part of it not finishing Agility.

Miho grins a little as Yuna successfully makes the move, shouting out. “That was great Yuna! You’ve really come along!”
Yuna takes a second to smile at her trainer happily, the encouragement distracting her momentarily. Miho notices a little. “Concentrate Yuna.”
She looks at Miho, slightly confused, before remembering the battle, Miho sighing softly. “Alright...let’s try to chip it down a little...use Dragon Rage, but hold back a little. We don’t want to faint it.”
Yuna takes aim at Mankey before opening its mouth, letting loose a loud “AIR!” Weak blue flames are fired at Mankey, soaring in its direction.

 

Ranger Jake​

Miho was surprised, as was I, that Yuna was able to pull off the complicated combo move. Miho ordered that Yuna use Dragon Rage and Yuna looked happy. She was dragon type so it would be easy for her.

She took a deep breath and then belched out a few small balls of bluish fire, imbued with Dragon magic. It smashed into Mankey severely hurting it as was expected. I guess that was Yuna's idea of holding back. Mankey looked really weak. It didn't have any energy left to attack and it could barely move.

Miho smiles softly as she walks forward, rummaging in her bag and pulling out a park ball. “Well done Yuna, you did really well.” Her hand moves to stroke Yuna’s head softly as she walks past, Yuna closing her eyes with a gentle squeal as she’s petted. Miho smiles again as she kneels in front of Mankey. “Sorry about her...she’s still learning, and she likes to poke her head where it’s not welcome.” Miho looks back at Yuna with a smile before turning back to Mankey. “Here. I know it might hurt now, but this might take the pain away a little.”
The park ball grows in her hand as stands, looking down at the Mankey before throwing it softly at it, trying not to cause any more pain than necessary to capture it.

Christine seemed really concerned for the Mankey. She had really hurt it and wanted to put it out of its pain. She carefully paced over to it and pulled a Park ball out of her bag. Cooing, she tapped the ball aganst its side.

The ball fell to the ground and Mankey was pulled into its crystalline center. It feebly rocked back and forth before glowing red and becoming still.

“Your second capture, congrats!”

Miho smiles as she softly picks up the ball, hardly hearing Jake’s congratulations as she softly whispering to it. “Sorry again...it was our fault for bothering you.” She turns and walks to Yuna, softly holding her head between her hands as they look into each other’s eyes. “This is why I say you need to be careful where you look around...not everyone likes having a stranger suddenly bothering them in their home.”
Yuna looks at her before making a sad little sound, looking down. Miho then smiles a little before petting her head again. “Your fine, just remember next time, okay?” Yuna looks at her before nodding, seeming to cheer up.
Miho smiles over at Jake, slightly apologetically. “Sorry...like I said, she’s still a Dratini at heart.”

"Like I said, she's still a Dratini at heart," Miho said apolagetically.

"I bet you can't wait until she's a Dragonite then, eh?" I said chuckling. I packed up our stuff and we walked further out onto the field. It was past noon now, u the sun was still hot on our backs.

We reached the areas of shorter grass and I stubbed my toe on a rock.

"Ow," I said automatically, even though with the ranger boots I didn't feel much. A Paras peeked out from under the rock shyly.

"Hey look, a Paras."

OOC: Hm...well, I'm trying to keep a pattern in my team of Female, Male, Female, etc, so I'm gonna say female for now.

The three keep making their way through the grass until Jake stub’s his toe on a rock, Miho looking at him as he stops. “Hey look, a Paris.”
Miho looks down at the small Mushroom Pokémon. Although a grass type would be useful, she wasn’t fond of bug types, or its evolution. “Let’s leave it alone for now. “ She smiles softly at Jake. “Poor thing looks scared enough already.”
However, Jake wasn’t the only one who had noticed the Paris as Yuna dives towards it excitedly, wanting a better look. Miho’s eyes widen a little. “Yuna! Oh, You never learn, do you?”

Let's leave it alone for now. Poor thing looks scared enough already." Miho starte dto walk a way but Yuna dove straight towards the hole under the rock, poking its snout in the hole. The Paras scurried inside, frightened horribly, as the gigantic nose probed the entrance to its home.

I laughed and tugged on Yuna who looked up at me and then decided to come along with her ashamed trainer. We kept on walking. The grass got thinner and thinner as we reached the edge of the plain.

"So there are two remaining places to go. Which do you want to visit." I gestured at the two trail heads at the end of the plain and waited for Niho to decide.

Miho thinks a little. She had already caught a poison type today, but it could still be useful to see a few more. “Hold on...” She reaches into her pocket as she pulls out a small silver coin, one side sporting a Magikarp, the other side clear. “Heads, we visit the Grove, Tails we visit the Swamp.” With that she flips the coin, catching it and putting it on her hand. She peeks at it under her hand, the coin showing the clear side. “Well...the Swamp it is.”
She smiles as Yuna lets loose a happy sound, moving to dash of ahead first again. Miho looks after her quickly, grabbing her ball from the holster. “Wait...hold on, Yuna! We don’t need you poking your nose in a Poison Pokémon’s nest.”
Yuna looks back, clearly wanting to rush ahead and keep exploring. She looks at her trainer before sighing a little, obediently coming back. Miho softly strokes her head before withdrawing her, the disappointed dragon type disappearing in a flash of red light. Miho looks at Jake with a slight smile. “I don’t know what I’m going to do with her sometimes.”
