Question: If a HM is required in an area, do you need the actual HM, or something that knows the move of that HM?

 

The move on a Pokemon. Its like Surf in the games. You only need to be able to Surf and have a Pokemon with the move. You don't need the HM.

 

Oh cool thanks. This is exactly what I needed.

 

Actually you don't need either. For example with the lakes we often rp the existence of boats. Where as places like Mt. Deckbi where strength is required you can rp your way around a rock blocking the path. Strength is just the easy way to do it. If I do put a HM obsticle it is often more about the creativity used to get around it. A great example is Stinky's RP over at PE2K where he used his Togekiss to Wish a fallen tree out of their path. Having the HMs just makes things easier for you.

I just had this idea, something similar the Spiffy Grader thing. Basically the ranger's pay is pitiful is less than the other positions, as most of us know. Even with a payrise, the work we will probably still not be worth the money we get paid.

So yeah the idea is a thread, where rangers post links to specific posts which they are particularly proud of, (Maybe make a limit on the number so the selection process is more severe) and then someone (Probably Sam / Elite Rangers) goes through the posts and awards a pay bonus based on the top 3/4/5 posts per person.

I'd say the bonus criteria would be stuff like speed of response, Creativity, originality, or whatever else.

It needs fine polishing, but I think this could work and it might encourage more ideas and originality depending on prizes.

Okay so, an announcement. Ranger Wages have been updated! The new Wages are as follows:

*750 for a non-battle post
*1,000 for each Battle Post if 3-4 posts are of poor quality
*1,500 for each Battle Post if 2 posts are of fair quality and 2 are of poor quality
*2,000 for each Battle Post if 3-4 posts are of fair quality

You can all thank Chainy, Bee, and Sam for these updates, and anyone else involved who I either forgot or didn't know about. I'll edit the Ranger Info thread when I get the chance, or maybe Sam or another Mod can do it. Either way, enjoy those increased Wages!
