I didn't want to stay to see what damage Rayquaza could do. "We should get out of here, now. We don't really have enough power to deal with a rampaging Rayquaza... at least I don't." Cameron seemed a bit reluctant to leave, wanting to watch the battle, but he was the one that really wanted to find his last Pokémon. We started to leave, careful to not attract Rayquaza's attention and avoiding any stray blasts from the battle.

With Sela having taken Latias out of the battle, Latios had less to worry about, and we had a good fighter covering our backs. Still, I didn't want to burden him too much with our protection, so we had to get out so he didn't have to protect us anymore.

We ran as fast as our legs could run. I looked right at Siless and left at Cameron and nearly crashed into a half-formed figure which was a in-teleportation Sela. A tremendous roar emerged, but it was different. It didn't shake the foundation of the trees. It didn't make us feel scared. It didn't frighten the wild Pokemon. They were immoblilized by the light slowly floating down from the sky. It was Arceus. I could see it clearly. Both trainers tried to snap a photo, but it was too far away for a define image to appear in film. Rayquaza roared one last time before a shine of ice blue ran across Arceus and a beam fired at Rayquaza.

It was then a Pidgey and a Starly both perched on our heads to get a better view- their wings were probably tired. I shook off my Starly and it landed on Cameron instead.

"Er... would you like to battle these?"

    OOC: Last one, let's go

We had run pretty far away from the Rayquaza/Latios battle. Even though we had put some distance between us and that battle, I could still hear Rayquaza's roar. I saw a bright light near the area of that battle and could swear Arceus was there, but I couldn't see clearly. Then a Starly and Pidgey flew onto Siless' and the Ranger's head. The Ranger shook it off and it flew onto mine. It was kind of cute, but I didn't want to battle so I handed it a Pokedoll and waited for it to fly away. I was kind of disappointed, but tried to hide it.

A Pidgey perched on my hat. I hardly noticed at first; it simply brought me back to a time when Sela was a Ralts and riding on my head. It took me a while to realize that she wasn't one anymore, and that it wasn't her sitting on my head.

I sat the Pidgey on the ground; I didn't want to startle it too much when we had to leave. It seemed to be entranced in the battle in front of us; it was largely one-sided, given Arceus's power. Rayquaza would certainly be halted and we wouldn't have to worry about any damage to the park.

The Pidgey and Starly started to peck at the doll as the flash of Arceus disappeared. I looked up and sighed. Many didn't think this Pokemon existed. I sometimes do wish I actually pack properly and bring lots of item just in case something like this happens. It was then that I decided to count how many encounters the two were allowed left. One. One left. One left till the end of this half-crazy run, and where I will be running to Ranger Control to try to maintain the situation.

    "Ding, ding."

That was the sound from my watch as a Tailow and Togekiss swept in front of us. I looked at them as they tweeted. They would be the last two left of this run. Well, I better go submit the run form later and let the trainers claim their Pokemon. After that, I'll go collect my pay- I'm really craving some curry now. Hot, spicy curry. Mm. Though, I would have to say good-bye to these trainers. My first full 15 encounter run is finished... if they don't decide to battle.

OOC: I'm going to use the Mega Puffin (Uncommon)

IC: "No, I don't want to battle them either." I said, tossing a Pokedoll. I reached into my bag and pulled out a Puffin I had made before coming here. I placed it on the ground, hoping something near by, like a Farfetch'd would come by and eat it. That would give me the chance to capture it. I waited for the Togekiss and Tailow to go away before placing it down. I didn't want them eating it. All I had to do now was wait to see what would come by, maybe even in a pair.

Cameron placed down a poffin. Apparently, some obscure park rule allowed him to use it to gain an extra encounter. I, however, was finished with my run. I didn't want to try and push the rules to try and get an encounter I wasn't even interested in having; I wanted the three Pokémon I had caught already.

"Timpeni, could you do the Ranger authorization of the Pokémon I caught and point me to the nearest outpost? Since I'm finished, I shouldn't really hold you guys back with an extra body to look after."

I also wanted to look and see if I could get anything for that Staraptor picture.. I wondered how it turned out.

Claiming Sassy Female Swablu, Naive Male Starly, Quirky Female Murkrow, and 1.5k in pictures (1 Rare)?

    OOC: You lucky :-|

The two Pokemon fought over the Pokedoll, wondering what it was. Their squabble took to the skies, and just then, Cameron put a Mega Poffin on the ground. It enabled the trainer to possibly attract a Pokemon, and the Pokemon would be allowed to battle with even with no encounters left. I heard they were only available at a festival of some sorts, with also something like a magnificently crafted item called Oak's Hoax and a rare Vesiquen's Tear (rare because Vesiquens don't usually cry). Before the Mega Poffin attracted anything, I heard Siless speak.

"Timpeni, could you do the Ranger authorization of the Pokémon I caught and point me to the nearest outpost? Since I'm finished, I shouldn't really hold you guys back with an extra body to look after." I took out my papers and quickly jotted down the serial numbers of the Pokemon Siless captured, exhibited on a white paper sealing the button on the Park Ball, making sure the park Pokemon couldn't be used till it was authorized. I heard some Tentacruel removed the paper or something. Anyway, it didn't matter. I quickly wrote down my name on the 'Ranger' line right under Siless' name and handed it to Siless, realized I forgot to sign it, and finally handed it to Siless, completed.

"Go straight, and at the nearest crossroad, turn left. The ranger outpost will be only two minutes away." I said. Siless nodded before walking away, finally holding the three Pokemon in his hands. It was then that a cottony Pokemon flew down and pecked at the Poffin. It was a cute little Swablu, a bit more trusting then the one Siless got. It didn't mind us, and appeared to have a veracious appetite, finishing the baked meal quickly. It then hopped close to us, investigating us.

"You probably want to battle it, but park rules make me ask you anyway. Do you want to battle it?"

Soon after Siless left, a saw a familiar cloud looking Pokémon land near my Puffin. It was a Swablu, one of the two Pokémon remaining from this place that I did not have. It slowly moved over towards the food I had set out and ate it. Then it moved over towards us, studying us.

"You probably want to battle it, but park rules make me ask you anyway. Do you want to battle it?" The Ranger asked.

“Damn right I do.” I said grinning. I don’t know how I got so lucky, but I was sure glad I finally got my third Pokémon. As a collector, I wanted as many different Pokémon as I could possibly get. I wanted them all to be unique though. I wasn’t sure what was so unique about this one, but I was willing to risk it and find out. I had used every single one of the Pokémon I had brought today in some way or another except for Kickback. Kickback was my trusty Slowbro. He could be quite lazy at time, but he sure got the job done when needed. He was always calm which helped me help him perform better, more complicated combos. “Alright Kickback, it’s your time to shine.” I said, tossing out a black and white Pokeball.

A large, red and black hermit crab shelled Pokémon emerged from the sphere. He was just a larger version of Slowpoke, but with a large shell on his back. I found it weird how a Shellder could bite onto a Slowpoke’s tail and cause some sort of reaction that causes Slowpoke to evolve into a Slowbro. I mean, is it really evolution if the Slowbro will revert back to Slowpoke if the Shellder stops biting its tail. I never understood it. It was the only Pokémon that did that, that I was aware of anyways. The large Water type Pokémon yawn, looking back at me and then over to the Swablu.

“Didn’t think I was going to be used today.” Kickback smirked. Like Sela and Mindbender, Kickback could talk to me telepathically, so I could understand what he was saying. “How shall we start this?”

“I’m thinking start with Thunder Wave then hit it with Ice Beam.” I replied. Kickback nodded, he formed a small ball of yellow-green electricity and fired it at the Swablu. After he did that, he would begin forming ice particles in his mouth. The particles would then meld together into a small blue ball and from there a blue light beam would shoot out and hit the Swablu.

The moment Slowbro was sent out, Swablu knew it was up for battle. The little Pokemon, having recently left the care of her mother, was still in the rookie stages of battling. The moment Slowbro sent a wave of electricity cutting through the air, Swablu's first instinct was to use Safeguard. A green glow illuminated around Swablu's wings, which grew to cover her body. The Thinder Wave was absorbed without any other side effects. Of course, Swablu didn't think about her healing moves and ability, or the fact that while she was distracted, Slowbro could attack her. And that was what he did.

A large amount of water flooded into Kickback's mouth. The negative temperatures due to the forming ice crystals in Kickback's mouth froze the water as it emerged. The ice shot at Swablu, freezing her sensitive blue skin. Swablu winced as the ice made her body's temperature dip and the Safeguard make it rise again. It was an uncomfortable feeling Swablu could go without.

Kickback launched his Thunder Wave attack perfectly, but at the last moment, the Swablu threw up a Safeguard. Safeguard prevented it from getting any status inflictions which was going to be a bit of a problem for me since I tended to rely on those moves. I was just going to have to work around that. I could try another Ice Beam attack, but I didn’t want to do that much damage. I just wanted to try and stall until Safeguard faded away or I got its health low enough. “Okay Kickback, use Psychic and slam it down. Then before it can get up, use Headbutt.”

Kickback's eyes began to glow a light blue color. What he was doing was connecting his mind with the Swablu’s mind. Getting that link set up, he was going to be able to control it. For how long depended on how much effort and concentration he was putting into it. If it worked, the opponent would become outlined in light blue energy, similar to the one coming from his eyes. Then he would slam the Swablu to the ground. Then, using his head, he would slam hard into the Swablu.

Kickback closed his eyes, and concentrated his psychic energy into his mind. Swablu came into his mind, and Kickback pushed his power towards her. Swablu looked confused and curious as her body glowed a pretty sky blue. It was as if a hand approached her from behind, making Swablu fall to the ground.

Swablu felt her body move against her own will. A crushing feeling was felt the moment she slammed on the ground. It was painful. Swablu forced herself up, and dodged the movement of Kickback. He slammed against the ground, and said 'ow'. A heated flame, a pulse of pure energy shot from Swablu's mouth, sending Kickback back a few meters. Kickback's legs crapper against the ground as he tried to stop himself from skidding back further.

My Psychic, Headbutt combo went off better than I had expected. I was having Kickback use more energy than was actually needed. I was not sure if the Swablu could take any more hits, and I was sure not going to risk it. My luck so far had been good, I did not want to push it. I was going to have Kickback navigate a Hyperball over towards Swablu. It was indeed early, but it looked pretty weak and I didn’t want for it to be knocked out somehow. Perhaps I could slow things down a bit. Slowbro knew the move Trick Room, which would cause a small distortion in the area and cause slower Pokémon to move faster than the regularly faster Pokémon.

“Kickback, use Trick Room, then I want you to use your psychic power to navigate this Hyperball over to the Swablu when I throw it so that it’s a sure hit.” When Kickback used Trick Room, his eye would glow a deep red color and a large light blue rectangle would appear. He would use his psychic power to hold the room up. The room was light blue, but pretty transparent. Within seconds of it being used, it would then become invisible. It was only this area that would be distorted, and only in this area would slower Pokémon be faster than they normally would. I was hoping that it would be slow enough for me to capture. I just hoped my luck was still in play, because I felt that I was going to need it here. I pulled out a Hyperball and prepared to throw it. As soon as Kickback had his Trick Room up, I was going to throw it. I also pulled out a Calming Fragrance Plus and released the fumes to calm the Swablu down.

I felt my body slow, and realized the effects of Trick Room was strong. As reality was bent, our minds slowly changed, though temporarily. Just then, Swablu shook in her ball, and the fateful shine of an escaping Pokemon displayed itself, unwelcome.

The Swablu broke out, sending the ball onto my face. I picked it up and passed the Hyperball to Cameron. Apart from the large bump I had just gained, the ball was in good shape. I looked at the Swablu, who was just beginning to open its mouth. Now thinking in a more urgent and more strategically beneficial way, the Swablu took a breathe of air before singing out a tune. It was unsteady and unappealing at first, perhaps from the effects of Trick Room slowing her down, but it steadily grew to more understandable levels, and into a beautiful melody that sent me into a daze.

Swablus's voice was not as magnificent as an Altaria's, but it did the trick. The naturally lazy Slowbro, though he displayed effort trying to pull through, finally shut his eyes and snored. I nearly did the same, but my head hit the tree behind me as I fell backwards. Why was it always me that was the victim of clumsiness?

Swablu emerged from the Hyperball sending it flying into the Rangers face. I felt bad that all the balls that didn't capture the Pokemon I was going after hit her in the face. She handed me the ball. That was when Swablu had used Sing to make Kickback fall asleep. Hearing that sound almost put me to sleep. I lifted the Hyperball in one arm. With Kickback asleep, I was going to have to do this myself. I had confidence that I would successfully hit the Swablu with the ball and capture it this time.

I readied the Hyperball in one hand, trying to aim perfectly. I was a bit nervous, but I felt that I was going to capture it this time. At least that’s what I told myself. Then I noticed Cybershock floating next to me. He made several computing noises and levitated the ball from my hands. “Alright, take a shot at it.” I said, sighing in relief. With Cybershock now guiding the ball towards the Swablu, I was sure it was going to hit and be a capture this time.

It's going to capture, it's going to capture... the Hyperball nearly stopped and glinted, only for it to fly towards us. I grabbed it this time, not willing to have another ball to my face. My older brother Hatori always threw balls at my face. It was annoying. Swablu, on the other hand, was slightly dazed. I couldn't blame it- being hit with two Pokeballs and having to break out was tiring.

"Swa, swabluuuu swa." The Swablu said before releasing a mist from its tired, wheezing breathe. The mist clouded our vision, and we couldn't see well. It stopped us from hitting Swablu well and lowering her stats for a bit.

OOC: If it's a capture, go ahead and post in the Claims Thread, please and thanks.

Once again the Swablu came out of the Hyperball, and once again the ball headed straight for my ranger. Luckily though, she caught it this time and it didn’t hit her in the face. I realized that it wasn’t the navigation that I was having trouble with, it was forcing the Swablu to stay in the ball. It didn’t want to for some reason. Perhaps it still had some fight left in it. That had to be it, but I didn’t want to risk it. Attacking it would surely drain whatever energy it had left.

I was just going to throw it again. Without being able to inflict a status condition onto the Swablu, there was nothing else that I could do. At least nothing that came to mind. I was just going to have to be extremely lucky this time or who knows what would happen. I grabbed the Hyberball again and angrily heaved it at the Swablu. Cybershock gently nudged the ball a bit so that it was on course. Being angry and all, I didn’t think when I threw it. I just did, I wondered what kind of outcome that would have.

OOC: SO. EFFING. LONG. SINCE. I. POSTED. Also I had forgotten all about that last post of mine, so I’m actually closer to catching Aero than I originally thought. YAY. Now it’s time for the moment of truth, baby! *Fist pumps.*

    ===

    IC: Saundra Blake

Well, it hadn’t turned out quite like I’d hoped, but even being only partially frozen helped out greatly when the paralysis gripping the stone pteradon’s muscles kicked in. Only capable of opening his massive jaws, the mighty Pokemon decided to make the best of a bad situation and try a Fire Fang to melt the ice covering certain parts of his body. The red-orange flames enveloped the ivory daggers, growing unusually large as Aero attempted to free himself from his chilled prison.

Fortunately for us, the Pokemon was completely immobilized at the moment and therefore quite vulnerable. Granted, the flames covering those vicious teeth would be a threat if not taken into careful consideration, but I wasn’t about to get careless and disregard them. In fact, this would be the last play of the battle, and I couldn’t afford to be reckless about anything at all. The risk of knocking Aero out was too high, and I didn’t think I’d get a second chance by running into another one. Not that I’d feel like whittling away at its health like this even if I did, to be honest.

“Databyte, this is it, buddy!” I called out. “Let’s wrap this up. Let that Cold Snap go and fire up a Shadow Ball.” Databyte dipped its head once to acknowledge my orders, then quickly clapped its arms together. The moment it did, the sphere of ice between them shattered apart into hundreds of miniscule fragments. This shatter-effect continued down the tendrils weaving around Aero, finally ending the in cage exploding in tiny shards. Most of these blew away from Aero, but a few stray ones would probably hit him. The damage they’d do would be minimal because of their small size, but anything that helped was welcome at the moment.

After putting an end to its Cold Snap move, Databyte drew its arms apart once more. A line of black goo connected the tips, and a black substance began to drip from it. This gathered into an inky sphere beneath Databyte, growing larger as more and more drops were added to it. Once it was about the size of a soccer ball, the liquefied Ghost energy connecting Databyte’s arms dissolved away, leaving just the ebony orb behind. The surface of it rippled and flowed like water, and every so often an eddy would rise up and slither across the Shadow Ball before sinking back into the main mass. The mass of energy took only a few seconds to form, and after another moment to adjust its aim, Databyte flung its arms upward, sending the attack flying towards Aero.

“Now use Psychic to make a case out of it!” I called. Databyte flicked its tail and cast out a Psychic hook, snagging the erratically-flying sphere and forming it into a large sheet. This would then be wrapped around Aero, not to cause damage, but more to freak it out than anything. The modified Shadow Ball would create a space of absolute darkness; the light from Aero’s Fire Fang would be swallowed by the shadows as well. Even something like an Aerodactyl would be temporarily dumbstruck to suddenly find itself plunged into a black abyss.

On top of possibly messing with his mind for a few moments (preventing him from preparing any further counterattacks, conveniently), it would rob Aero of his sight. That way he would be completely unaware of the direction Databyte’s final attack would come from. Unable to know which direction to flee in, he would most likely be immobilized by indecision, if not from his paralyzed and frozen muscles. I smiled a little as the dark blanket reached Aero, its flat form curving and curling to envelop him within it.

“Once Aero’s trapped, it’ll be time for your final attack,” I now told Databyte. “Use an Agility now to build up momentum, then use a high-speed Tackle against Aero. You’re not built for physical attacking and Aero’s skin may be stone, but after your Sharpen it should do enough damage to make catching Aero easy without doing enough to risk knocking him out. Just to be on the sage side, though, make it a sort of glancing blow, and try to avoid the frozen parts of his body, where he’ll be more sensitive and susceptible to damage. Before you do, though, c’mere for a second.” Databyte floated over to me as I tugged an Hyper Ball from one of my pockets, then held it out towards the computerized Pokemon in front of me. “Take this. After using your Tackle, chuck it at Aero for me, kay?”

Databyte didn’t bother to nod or anything this time, instead zipping off to the right, taking the Hyper Ball. At first he wasn’t going very quickly, but as he halted unneccesary programs and dumped useless data, his form started to blur. Every so often he’d abruptly change direction, quickly gaining back whatever speed he’d lost while doing so. Eventually he was moving so quickly it was nearly impossible for my eyes to move fast enough to track him.

At that moment, I heard a shriek coming from somewhere above us. It was muffled by distance and the platforms in that space, but the fact that I could hear it at all meant it had to be astoundingly loud. And for it to be that loud, it must have come from something big. There weren’t many things large enough to make a scream like that, and I could only think of one off-hand:

    Rayquaza.

The roar was followed by brief but very obvious trembling of the platform beneath my feet, something that left me more than a little alarmed. Whatever was happening higher up Outer Heaven was severe enough to shake the sturdy stone structure. It was definitely something that needed to be checked out, as it could be a critical situation that needed to be dealt with right away. Worriedly, I pulled Seagem’s PokeBall free and released the Dragonite, who emerged from her Ball with a haughty little flick of her head. She took a second to glance around before focusing on me, a question in her eyes as her small wings fluttered behind her.

“Seagem, something’s going on above us a couple of levels. I think Rayquaza might be part of it. I want you to go check things out and see if it’s anything serious we might need to intervene in. Be careful, though; if it looks too dangerous come right back, all right?” Seagem gave a little huff, obviously put-out that she wasn’t getting to show off for anyone right now, then took to the air and vanished from sight a moment later. I turned from where she’d vanished to find Databyte still darting around. Well, that wasn’t surprising. It had been given its orders and would follow them until they were either executed or it was told to stop. The roar wouldn’t have distracted it as it had me.

It would be a few moments longer before the Shadow Ball barrier fully closed around Aero, and thanks to the inherent speed all Dragonite possessed, Seagem returned before Databyte used Tackle. Before I could ask what was going on above us, she simply shook her head as another roar, this one quieter than the last, sounded out. Even though I was doubtful, it was obvious that whatever was going on was being taken care of and not something I needed to bother worrying about. I thanked the Dragonite for checking out the commotion for me before focusing on Databyte again, who was now pelting towards the black orb encasing Aero. At the sight of it bearing down on the sphere, I suddenly felt a rush sweep through me. This was truly it. If Aero wasn’t captured with this attempt then it would all most likely end up a wasted effort. I clenched my hands into fists, silently asking whatever deity that might happen to be watching to give me some much-needed luck in the coming moments.

    Commencing...

I heard Saundra talking, but the roar from above distracted me from the battle here. The large green legendary Pokemon had been chasing something. It appeared to be angry. If something went down, I was going to have to go investigate. I didn't think I'd have to since Rayquaza always liked to fight with other Pokemon, but he never picked on anyone weaker or couldn't handle his attacks. I knew we had nothing to worry about. I looked back at the battle field and had missed Saundra's first commands. Her second ones were just coming in.

“Once Aero’s trapped, it’ll be time for your final attack,” I now told Databyte. “Use an Agility now to build up momentum, then use a high-speed Tackle against Aero. All I saw was her Porygon-Z forming a black, gooey ball of dark energy. He was expanding it with his Psychic attack. I had no clue what he was doing. All I saw was the liquid flow over towards Aerodactyl who was still grounded. He let out a loud roar as he was engulfed in the darkness. I couldn't imagine what he was seeing. I would never use that move on any of my opponents because it just seemed to damn freaky. I would hate to be trapped in darkness.

Porygon-Z then begun his assult and rammed into Aerodactyl. I saw a small red glow, then the flying beast was quickly taken inside the realms of the Pokeball. The ball shook many times crazily, and for a second I thought he was coming back out, but then it stopped and remained motionless. The raging beast had finally been captured. The next part in training it was going to be difficult, but it was manageable.

I walked over to the Hyperball and picked it up. "Well, this was a long battle, but you finally captured it. Congrats." I said happily. Then I looked around at the area and saw the destruction this battle had caused with the pillars. It was sad to see Pokemon's homes destroyed, but it was all fixable.
