    Jade's counter-move was more powerful than anything Akinai had expected; not only did the sonic wave push the flaming wisps back, but it also sliced a path through the Sandstorm winds, the sandy prison that was still encircling the Spiritomb, and the wild Pokemon itself! The spirit screeched in pain yet again, it's amazement mirroring Akinai's own surprise. A few of the flames tried to rebound back to their original target, but exploded before reaching their mark. While not leaving a searing burn, they did manage to slightly damage the Flygon. Seeing an opening, Akinai rushed forward and applied the Super Potion to Jade's wounds. “You did amazing out there,” Akinai murmured to her starter once she she was beside the Dragon-type.

    Jade, whose gaze was on her opponent, started a moment as she saw something moving out of the corner of her eye. Seeing it was only her Trainer, with a healing device no less, she relaxed a little. As Akinai went to spray the healing mist on the worst of the Flygon's wounds, she couldn't help but twitch a little; even though Jade was quite used to dealing with Potions, she could never get used to the burning sensation that surfaced before the healing effect came in. Once the burning was replaced with a blissful numbness, the Flygon slightly closed her eyes in contentment.

    As for the Spiritomb, it had become quite quiet after the the Sand Tomb covered it once more, deathly quiet. While it was impossible to tell how hurt the creature was, the fact that the sand tornado still stood was proof enough that the wild Pokemon was still conscious.

    Akinai, taking advantage of this pause in action, moved back to her pack and stored the empty Potion away. She had been unable to completely heal Jade, but it would have to do for now. Plus, the Spiritomb surely had to be feeling it's wounds by now. Even Ghost-types needed to rest every now and then, and the battle had taken a lot out of both opponents. She turned back to the battle, assessing the current situation. Judging by the weak winds swirling about, Jade's Sandstorm would completely dissipate soon. The Sand Tomb probably did not have much strength left either; that had been tossed up almost instantly after, and the move lasted a similar amount of time. As soon as these were down, the Spiritomb would have almost free roam once more. They would have to act now, before the Ghost tossed up another Smokescreen.

    After being silent for so long, the Spiritomb let out another screech, this one ringing of pure frustration. Every move it had tried in this blinding maelstrom seemed to either fail horribly or rebound back in it's face. Even worse, it's enemy simply flitted about everywhere, as if the green creature was mocking it's inability to move. Unsurprisingly, something seemed to finally snap. From deep within the Spiritomb a rage began to surface, and it let out an unearthly snarl that resonated throughout the entire area. He would teach this opponent why it was called the Forbidden Pokemon, and rip off the fly's wings while doing so!

    Akinai immediately staggered as the noise struck her ears, absolutely petrified as she stared ahead. She had not seen or heard so powerful a rage in a long, long time. Eventually she was able to turn her head and look over at Jade, who had let out a whimper and appeared to be just as terrified as her Trainer. This was for good reason; the Flygon was probably remembering the same event as she. Akinai closed her eyes and shook her head in a vain attempt to block out an old memory that threatened to surface; if she and Jade froze up now, they would shame themselves. “Jade, get up!” she called out to her Pokemon, trying to maintain a commanding tone.

    Jade, whose eyes were as large as saucers, simply stared back at her Trainer. She was shaking all over, and didn't show any times of stopping soon; her fear would throw off the accuracy of her long-ranged attacks. Seeing that Akinai had no intentions of retreating, she fearfully stood up and directed her gaze back to the swirling sand pillar.

    Akinai went over the details once more, a plan quickly forming in her mind. If Jade had trouble aiming currently, that left only one solution: direct combat. With the Spiritomb trapped, it would have no way to effectively fight back. Flygon were also able to handle sand and dust storms with no issues at all, so Jade would easily be able to quickly get into the tornado. The only problem was leaving it as well. If the wild Pokemon had enough vigor left and was feeling as truly enraged as that Snarl proved, the spirit would tear the Flygon to shreds.

    All or nothing, then. “We can do this, Jade! It's only trying to scare us,” and succeeding admirably, Akinai stated silently. She kept her gaze forward, knowing if she looked away now she would start running and never look back. “Show that Ghost that we're not afraid. Strike his stone hard and quickly with a Dragon Claw!” Sooner or later, this match was drawing to an end.

    Jade let out a loud cry; whether it was to steel herself or discourage her foe, the Flygon herself was uncertain. The Flygon lifted off once more, and darted directly towards the Sand Tomb. Her claws began to glow with a bright light, and she entered the tornado.

    Akinai, once she had lost sight of Jade, backed up towards her pack once more. If things went well, she would need a Ball to capture the weakened Pokemon.

    The Snarl seemed to affect Akinai and Jade a lot more than me, as unbelievable and impossible as that seemed to me. The young woman bowed her head and was shaking it, and the Flygon seemed to be suffering a bad post-traumatic stress attack. Akinai stumbled backwards and muttered to herself, trying to snap out of it. Finally, she gathered enough courage to snap out of her shock.

    "Jade, get up!" she yelled as her knees shook slightly. The Flygon crouched even lower, if that was possible. Her head turned around and she stared with large eyes at Akinai, practically begging to run. When it became clear that the woman wasn't going to flee, Jade reluctantly turned around, back towards the Spiritomb. The Ghost-type stopped the unholy noise and looked a little miffed. It must have been unhappy that it hadn't sent the interlopers fleeing.

    “We can do this, Jade! It's only trying to scare us. Show that Ghost that we're not afraid. Strike his stone hard and quickly with a Dragon Claw!” Akinai exclaimed.

    Jade roared and dove towards the whirling sandstorm. It took a lot of courage for the Dragon-type to do that, and yet she'd come through. Her claws began to glow sky-blue, and she disappeared inside the whirling sand cyclone. Nothing happened for a couple seconds, and then I heard an unearthly screech. Jade then blasted out of the Sand Tomb and quickly as she could.

    "Great job!" I shouted, unable to hold it in. Jade had managed to land a strike without getting hit in return - what a victory!

    As they often did, the gods of luck decided to screw me over. As Jade retreated, the column of sand stopped whirling all at once and fell onto the ground. There was a second screech and the Spiritomb's stone blasted towards the fleeing Flygon. Just before contact, the Ghost's purple and black gas erupted out and the entire Forbidden Pokemon smashed into Jade, knocking her clean out of the air and sending her slamming into the temple's wall.

    Both Pokemon made contact at the same time - Jade squeaked as she hit the wall, and the Spiritomb's stone clattered on the ground. Its gaseous body suddenly froze and collapsed, like a pile of wet sand built too high. My mouth dropped as I realised what was happening.

    "Akinai, I think that was a Giga Impact," I said urgently. "Spiritomb won't be able to move for about a minute. This is probably your best shot at capturing it!"

    As the Spiritomb screeched once more, Akinai's hopes faltered a moment. Whether it was a cry of pain or one of retaliation, she was unsure. Jade dashed her way out of the Sand Tomb with not a scratch on her confirmed the reason for that unearthly sound; the Flygon had managed to escape the spirit's clutches once more.

    "Great job!" Chainy shouted, seeing the Flygon dart out of the cyclone.

    The sudden sound caused Akinai to jump a moment. It appeared as if her Ranger was as engrossed in the battle as her. She gave a small grin back, about to say something when she noticed something seemed off. The constant buzzing sound in the air was beginning to die down, Akinai expected that, but the swirling sand surrounding the Spiritomb was slowing to a crawl as well; the Sand Tomb had finally come to an end. Before she could shout a warning to Jade, the wild Pokemon took action.

    Spiritomb, seeing that it's sandy prison had collapsed, let out a howl of triumph. Finally, it would get revenge! The spirit's eyes darted on the Flygon, eyes burning with hatred, and it's keystone shot forward with the force and speed of a bullet. The stone struck Jade in the chest once more, sending the Dragon-type flying back and crashing into a wall.

    Jade let out a whimper upon hitting the wall and collapsed to the ground. While she still appeared ready to fight, the high-impact strike had knocked the wind out of her.

    Oddly enough, the Spiritomb appeared to be just as weakened. It's form had spilled out of the stone upon impact, and had crumpled onto the ground. The Ghost-type twitched about, but made no other signs of movement.

    "Akinai, I think that was a Giga Impact," Chainy said to Akinai, an urgent tone in his voice. "Spiritomb won't be able to move for about a minute. This is probably your best shot at capturing it!"

    Akinai, whose gaze was on Jade, slowly nodded. She shot a look over to the Spiritomb, noticed that the stone base appeared to be battered and worn. The spirit looked just as bad as the stone it housed in; the two must connected somehow in durability. While Jade could probably take one or two more hits, she would never get another chance like this to catch the Spiritomb. She reached into her pack and retrieved a Superball, and walked towards the wild Pokemon. She suppressed a shudder as she approached the Ghost-type, but said nothing; it had to be ten times worse for Jade. When she was a mere few feet away she threw the Superball, aiming for the Spiritomb's stone.

    Akinai appeared to listen to me. She slowly nodded and moved down to her pack, pulling out a SuperBall. She then walked forward carefully, ever-closer to the Spiritomb. The Ghost's eyes rolled around inside its semi-liquid form, before finally settling on the woman, watching her closely and calmly. Finally, Akinai tossed the ball towards the Forbidden Pokemon. The sphere sunk into its body for a couple seconds, and then the Spiritomb began to shine red. It disappeared into the capture device, gaseous body and all. The ball wiggled on the ground, from side to side.

    "Great job!" I called out to Akinai. I looked over at Jade - she'd managed to right herself, and while she looked a little bedragged and her wings were a little crooked I knew she'd be fine with a little rest. I was just about to walk about and pick up the Spiritomb's ball when I heard a fizzing-popping sound. My mouth dropped and I turned back to see the Spiritomb emerging from the ball. I darted forward and grabbed Akinai's arm before yanking her back away from the Wild Pokemon. The SuperBall clattered onto the ground and rolled away, coming to a stop in the middle of the room.

    Thankfully the Pokemon decided that Jade was a bigger threat than us, so it concentrated on the Dragon-type. Its gaseous body grew big and it stared straight at Jade, its eyes wide open. The swirl began to spin and the Ghost-type emitted a soft keening sound that was very different-sounding to its earlier screeches - it was almost pleasant to listen to. My eyelids started drooping, and I instantly knew what the Spiritomb was doing. I wanted to warn Akinai but I was too sleepy - hopefully Jade didn't make the mistake of looking into the Spiritomb's eyes.

    Akinai kept her gaze locked on the Superball, watching the sphere wobble back and forth. She thought she heard Chainy call out something to her, but was not paying attention. “Give up already,” she muttered, wanting this battle to end. As if the Spiritomb had heard her, there was a sudden flash of light and the wild Pokemon broke free from the orb. She could only stare as the Ball, still intact rolled away; it wasn't until her Ranger had yanked her back that she finally came back to her senses.

    “Thanks,” Akinai said, then directed her attention towards Jade. Her starter was back on her feet, but her wings hung somewhat oddly; the Flygon was probably unable to fly for now. The Superball had also managed to roll far away, close to the center of the area. Even with a single failed capture, the Spiritomb had managed to shift things back in it's favor.

    The Spiritomb shot Akinai an odd look, as if it was examining the human and was deciding which would be the best to deal with first. The spirit turned it's gaze towards Jade and, noticing the Flygon's wings appeared damaged, cracked an eerie smile. It opened it's mouth and began to let out a soft, almost melodic, sound. The tune was entrancing, almost if-

    Akinai shook her head, trying to clear the sound from her ears. Though the tune seemed off, it was extremely similar to a form of Hypnosis Zen had used before evolving to a Kirlia. If she was correct, all of them would be asleep within a minute.

    “Jade, go with a Sand-Attack! Try to kill that sound,” Akinai shot out, rushing quickly to her pack. She didn't want to risk fainting the Spiritomb, and hopefully a little sand would distract the Ghost-type long enough to throw her second Ball.

    Jade swung her tail to the side, collecting the stray sand that had been kicked up by the earlier Sandstorm. Without looking, she swept the sand straight towards the Spiritomb; the two were still close together, so aiming was hardly a necessity.

    Akinai rapidly went through her pack, pulling out items she didn't need in her rush to find her second Ball. As her hand finally managed to find the sphere, she retrieved it and made her way to the Ghost-type once more. Hopefully this one sticks. Keeping a slightly further distance this time, she threw the Superball at Spiritomb.

    Akinai shook her head as the strange melody wound in through her ears too. “Jade, go with a Sand-Attack! Try to kill that sound,” she ordered, bending back down to her pack.

    The Flygon shuffled closer to the Ghost-type and swung her tail at the pile of sand that had been left over from her previous moves. The sand scattered towards the Spiritomb, causing a small break in its song. However, Jade's head slowly fell to the floor and she didn't move.

    Akinai didn't seem to have noticed. She had pulled out a second SuperBall and she threw it towards the Spiritomb. This time the capture device struck the Forbidden Pokemon's base-stone. The stone glowed red, and the glow passed up from the rock to the entirety of the Spiritomb's body. The red light flew into the SuperBall, and the device shook on the ground. After a few seconds, the ball stilled. I walked forwards quickly and picked it up.

    "Congratulations, that was a fantastic battle," I said to Akinai. "You better go grab your other ball while I check on Jade."

    I quickly crossed over to the motionless Mystic Pokemon. She was breathing regularly, and while her wings were a little bit damaged she'd be fine with some rest. I carefully raised her head and she opened her eyes momentarily to look at me before closing them again. I let go of her head and she lowered it back onto the ground.

    "Well, the Hypnosis didn't completely affect her, but she's definitely very tired. You should return her to her ball for a while," I advised, dusting my hands off together.

    Akinai, seeing that this capture was successful, let out a sigh of relief. If the Spiritomb had broken out again, she probably would have been forced to faint the creature.

    "Congratulations, that was a fantastic battle," Chainy said to Akinai, grabbing Spiritomb's Ball. "You better go grab your other ball while I check on Jade."

    Akinai quickly retrieved her other Superball, then shot a worried glance over to Jade. She never was a marathon battler, and today had definitely been one string of difficult matches after another, made harder by the fact that they were trying to not faint their opponents. “Is she all right?”

    "Well, the Hypnosis didn't completely affect her, but she's definitely very tired. You should return her to her ball for a while," the Ranger advised.

    Akinai nodded, retrieving Jade's Pokeball from her belt and recalled the Flygon. She walked back to her pack, rearranging the items that had been skewed about while trying to capture the Spiritomb. “A think a little rest would do us all good; Jade isn't the only one who is hurt,” Akinai replied. “I'd like to leave now if possible. There could be an entire colony of rare Pokemon ahead, I don't care.” She stood up and faced Chainy, holding out her hand. “Thanks for leading us around the Park. While we need to train a bit more before returning, who knows? You might see us again, and next time we'll be ready!”

    OOC: Sorry for the delay, stuff happened. And jfyi, you dodged a Kadabra :(

    ~~~~~
    “A think a little rest would do us all good. Jade isn't the only one who is hurt. I'd like to leave now if possible," the young woman said to me. I was surprised, but only mildly so. It wasn't incredibly uncommon for Trainers to leave as soon as they caught three Pokemon they were interested in.
    "You sure you want to leave now? There could be something cool up ahead," I warned her.
    "There could be an entire colony of rare Pokemon ahead, I don't care,” she replied as she straightened up and held her hand out to me. “Thanks for leading us around the Park. While we need to train a bit more before returning, who knows? You might see us again, and next time we'll be ready!”
    "I'd like that." I nodded and shook her hand firmly. There was a sudden blue flash and Dual reappeared at my side. He instantly knew what was going on, so he too nodded farewell to Akinai. Something in his eyes told me he was telling the young woman to care well for the Kirlia - I wouldn't be surprised if he rocked up to check on her one day.
    Dual grasped my shoulder and suddenly the entire cave was replaced by a blindingly-blue light. I felt a jerk near the base of my spine, but as far as I could tell my body didn't move an inch.
    A few seconds later, the light faded and Akinai and I found ourselves on the docks, next to the ferry. It tooted its horn, as if it had been waiting for us. There was a slight crowd milling around on the wooden jetties, but no one seemed surprised at our sudden appearance.
    "Sounds like the boat's just leaving now," I observed as I handed Akinai the balls containing the three Pokemon she had just caught. "Hopefully I'll catch you around sometime."
    The young woman took the balls and ran towards the boat. I turned to my faithful partner.
    "Why did you bring us all the way to the docks? You usually don't do that," I asked him curiously.
    The two Parkballs absorbed the Unown into its confines. The spheres wiggled, mirroring each other on the grass. One wiggle... Two wiggles... Three wiggles and the echoing ding rung out.
    “We did it -” I started saying before Kitsu glomped me.
    “Yay! I know they’re just like floating eyes, but that was fun!”
    It was nice to see the excitement on her face, even if we just caught two Unown. I think the fact that we did it together made her happy; I know it made me. We saw our ranger walk over to the balls and pocket them for safety. I knew that the ranger had to hold onto them until we ended our run and wondered if Ivy’s pocket was large enough for the rest of the Pokemon we planned on catching.
    “Congratulations,” Ivy said. She turned to Kitsu. “You just caught your first Park Pokémon. How does it feel?”
    “It feels good, but it’s definitely no fluffy illusioning fox. We can keep looking now right?” Kitsu said as she turn towards me.
    “Yeah, but first its time for some healing. Come on out Ally!” I took out my Pokeball and summoned my Blissey.
    She smiled as she bowed her half-pink half-white body. Her curly hair-like growths ruffled in the wind as she held down her white wing-like appendages that resembled a skirt. I received her during an Auction in Kanto as a Happiny. It was a neck and neck fight against this one guy, as the auction had a time limit. At first it looked like he won by a few milliseconds, but the moderator decided that auction ended just before his last bid, so I won.
    I trained Happiny alongside a Nurse Joy I knew, since she knew more about the Happiny family than me. Now a Blissey, she is very capable of healing status ailments and loss damage. I named her Ally, as she is a great companion during any run.
    “Ally, I could really use a Wish right now,” I sang from a pop-song I had overheard one day. I always had a pension for music.
    Kitsu smacked me in the back of the head. “Really?”
    Ally didn’t care and went to begin her healing process as I rubbed the back of my head. She clasped her hands together and looked to the sky. She cried out, and the air above Lopunny and Dragonair started to shimmer green and glowing gold stars showered them, becoming absorbed into their bodies. The two were encompassed by a white glow, almost blinding. When it dissipated, all of Dragonair’s wounds were healed, and he looked better than ever. However, Lopunny had just a few bruises left on his arms.
    “Finish up with a Heal Pulse, please,” I asked my Blissey.
    She nodded once again and then held her hands in front of her body. An orb of light pink energy appeared, and Ally threw it towards Punpun. Before it hit my Lopunny, it broke apart into sparkling pink dust, which mellowed out Lopunny, mending the rest of his wounds.
    Both our Pokemon looked good as new, so I turned to Blissey and thanked her.
    “Thanks Ally, and thank you Nurse Joy!” Kitsu said making a face at me.
    “You know... I could play this Zorua Disc again... but maybe not,” I teased Kitsu.
    “Ummm.... please?”
    “I don’t know, Kitsu.”
    “Please?” she asked while doing the whole “sad Poochyena eyes” thing at me. I couldn’t say no.
    “Alright, silly. I’m going to play it.” I activate the voice player once again, sounding out the cries of a Zorua. “I guess we can let it keep playing as we head into the caves.”
    Punpun seemed ready to keep going, so I just recalled Ally. Kitsu came up to me, and we turned to our ranger, waiting to lead us on.
    OOC: I sowwie this took like a month. Finals are giga draining my time T_T
    @WinterVines
    The Unown were scooped up in a flash of red energy and the pokeballs began their capturing process. Three shakes and those Unown were ours! I turned to Jesse, who smiled at me. Before he finished his sentence, I ran towards him and wrapped my arms around him. I guess he didn’t expect it and we fell to the ground. At least he makes a good cushion...
    “Yay! I know they’re just like floating eyes, but that was fun!” I jumped up and offered him my hand.
    Ivy picked up the pokeballs and put them in her pocket. At first I was like, what? But then I remembered what Jesse said about rangers taking the captured pokemon until the end and how we can only take three at the end of the trip.
    “Congratulations,” our ranger said as she turned towards me. “You just caught your first Park Pokémon. How does it feel?”
    Hmmm.... “It feels good, but it’s definitely no fluffy illusioning fox. We can keep looking now right?” I said to Jesse.
    “Yeah, but first its time for some healing.” He reached for one of his pokeballs and said, “Come on out Ally!”
    Out of the ball came a big pink and white egg-shaped pokemon. It was one of those pokemon that you see at a pokemon center helping Nurse Joy. Like Nurse Joy, it had skirt-like features and curly hair. It carried around an egg in a pouch just like its pre-evolution, Chansey. Jesse frequently helped out at Pokecenters on his spare time, so Blissey would know how to heal Dragonair and Punpun’s wounds.
    “Ally, I could really use a Wish right now,” Jesse sang out.
    He knew that I hated when he started quoting random lines from pop-songs, so I brought my hand back and slapped him in the head.
    “Really?” I berated.
    “Ow,” he cried as he rubbed the well deserved mark on the back of his head.
    Blissey then went into a sort of trance, like praying. She yelled out, and shiny gold stars and green waves of light appeared, raining down on my dragon and Jesse’s bunny. Their two bodies shone with a massive green energy that seemed to seep into their wounds and fill them in. The light dissipated and Dragonair’s wounds were all gone.
    “Finish up with a Heal Pulse, please,”Jesse said as he saw that his Pokemon was still hurt a bit.
    While Blissey was doing her thing, I cuddled with Dragonair.
    “You did such a great job!” I said as he smiled at me and nuzzled my cheek. I turned to Jesse and his pokemon, who were now all fit and ready to go. “Thanks Ally, and thank you Nurse Joy!” I stuck my tongue out Jesse.
    “You know... I could play this Zorua Disc again... but maybe not,” he said.
    “Ummm...” I had to think of something. I couldn’t miss a chance to catch a cute widdle Zorua. “Please?” I said opening my eyes wide.
    “I don’t know, Kitsu.”
    “Please?” I tried again trembling my bottom lip and holding my hands up to my chin, like my Skitty does when she knows she’s in trouble.
    “Alright, silly. I’m going to play it.” Jesse said as he activated the voice player again.“I guess we can let it keep playing as we head into the caves.”
    “Yay!” I cried out in victory. I recalled my Dragonair back into his pokeball and walked next to Jesse, awaiting our ranger to lead us on.
    (OOC: It looks like I lost your run document when my computer died >.> Good thing that doesn't really impact me posting now XD
    Also keep in mind guys that healing yourself like you did is still using a move that needs an outcome, so be careful on saying what the exact effects are. That's the Ranger's job, so no saying what happens exactly next time, okay? Also, while I fully support the idea of self-healing, be aware that it will not work the way you plan if you spam it :3
    Don't worry if you take a bit to post. I was the same with NaNo. Good luck with your finals ^^)
    Ranger Ivy Frost
    ---
    Kitsu seemed pretty excited about her first capture. She lunged at Jessee in joy, in fact, trying to hug him enthusiastically but sending them toppling to the ground. Still, they were laughing, and that made Ivy smile. She felt that warm current flowing to her from Haji as well. They were pleased that the two Trainers were having a good time so far.
    That was the key really, doing things together like this. Time was too short to put things off, even if it was a challenge. There may not be a chance to do it later with the person you want to spend time with or even at all. She was reminded of her own missing family with the thought, but she shook the sad feeling off. Right now her Trainers were happy, and that was enough.
    The Espeon rubbed against her legs as she situated the two Park balls in her vest pocket, making sure it was zipped up tight. She wouldn't want them falling out and getting lost if she happened to get knocked over or something. It's not like that hadn't happened before, she thought dryly, recalling one Trainer she took through the Woods that had a habit of running into her on many occasions.
    Kitsu seemed to still be searching for a Zorua, so the Trainers wanted to get moving almost right away. They did pause to heal though, as Jesse called out his Blissey, a pink Pokemon with a white wing-like dress on. They were known for their healing abilities, since they tended to help out in hospitals just like their pre-evolution, Chansey.
    Jesse quoted a line from a song she had heard on the radio a few times while on the boat ride over to the island. She laughed a little as she debated which way to take to the caves, but Kitsu didn't seem to appreciate the gesture as much. She smacked the boy on the back of the head as a result.
    “Ow,” he said while rubbing the back of his head, and the scene made her snicker a little. It reminded her of the boys back at the office. They liked to do things like that to each other.
    The Trainer then asked his Blissey, named Ally, to heal up their Pokemon using a Wish and then a Heal Pulse. Ivy watched closely as the Blissey put her hands together and concentrated for a moment. Then a shining green orb appeared, and it distinegrated into a fine dust that seemed to wash over and soak into the semi-hurt Pokemon. She then started up the Heal Pulse, concentrating again. Rings of different colored light formed around her, close against her body. Then, with a small burst of energy, she pushed those rings out, and they fanned outward to heal the Lopunny.
    If Ivy remembered correctly, Haji could also learn the first technique, Wish, so she hoped he had paid attention. A gentle ping in her mind told her that he had, and she was glad. She wasn't sure if that was really one she would be able to teach him herself, so she hoped he had a bit of a handle on the general idea. They would have time to practice later.
    The Ranger watched the healing Pokemon closely after that, making sure she wasn't too tired. She was breathing a little extra from expending some of her energy, but other than that, she looked fine. She made a mental note to keep track of how many times they asked her to heal the others. While healing did regenerate some health, it would eventually wear out the Blissey, and she didn't want that. If the Blissey got too tired, the healing affect would become less and less until she couldn't do it at all. They should probably avoid that if possible.
    Once the group was ready to go, she nodded and called for them to follow her. She figured out what path she wanted to take. Instead of going through the dry brush further so they'd be in line with one of the caves she knew best, they were just going to cut through the trees now. There was some sandy areas next to the rocks that Pokemon liked to play in sometimes, so once they got passed the foliage they could see if something interesting was playing there.
    The Zorua disk played again as they approached the trees, and she hoped that the Pokemon would eventually hear it. In the meantime, they were kept busy moving tree branches out of the way. Most of them were above waist height, so Haji had no problem sneaking under them while she was stuck wading through them. She pulled them back carefully though; she didn't want to smack one of the Trainers in the face with a clawing branch. They hurt.
    “Be careful, guys,” she called. “These branches are pretty stiff, so they'll snap when you let go of them. Getting nailed in the face isn't pleasant.”
    Haji forged ahead since he could travel faster than the rest of them, and eventually they arrived in a small clearing of sorts. It wasn't too far to the cliff side now. Haji alerted them to company, however, so she stopped them to take a look.
    Two small baby-like Pokemon seemed to be playing a came with sticks and stones on the ground. They had made a grid out of the sticks, and then they were dropping small rocks and leaves into the spaces created by crossing the lines. It sort of looked like Tic-Tac-Toe.
    “Cleffa?” the small pink one asked, turning up to look at them. It looked sort of like a star, with its two brown triangle ears and the pointed swirl on top of its pink body. It even had small blush tracks on its face. It was eying up Kitsu. Ivy thought it was sort of cute. The girl might be interested.
    At the Cleffa's noise, the other little Pokemon looked up too. This one was a Wynaut. It was mostly blue with two floppy ears like a dog. It always seemed to have a smile on its face too, and this one was no different as its eyes curled into a happy triangle shape as it glanced toward Jesse. It had a tail that was kind of shaped like an Unown as well. It had an eye on it.
    Ivy was thinking that these two probably didn't see many people and were probably excited they had company. As her job described, she turned toward the two Trainers and asked, “What about these two?”
    I had no idea what Sableye had been trying to do with that Knock Off attack, and Ripper had a frown that said he was somewhat confused as well. Maybe if the Scizor had been holding something it would have been different, but I felt Held Items could prove too distracting in battle; that downside oftentimes outweighed the benefit of the Item.
    Of course, the little Ghost could always be planning something, possibly trying to make Ripper lower his guard by pretending to be non-threatening, then striking with that worrisome Prankster Ability at the worst possible moment. Sableye, and most Ghosts in general, were known for their sly, cunning nature, after all. The best way to counter that would be to keep Ripper well away from the Ghost, putting enough distance between them that any of her Prankster-boosting moves would have a harder chance of landing. Unfortunately, doing that would make it nearly impossible for Ripper to land blows of his own, as his most useful attacks were ones that required physical contact. So we would have to balance things out a little, and I knew the perfect way to do that.
    “Ripper, use a Quick Attack to get away from Sableye, then boost your speed with your Agility! Afterward confuse her with a Double Team, and when her head is spinning go in for a Bug Bite!”
    “Zor!” Ripper barked, acknowledging his commands with a sharp nod before crouching and crossing his arms in front of his face, then seemed to vanish from view as he darted to the left. I liked the Quick Attack into Agility combo, because it was easier for Ripper to achieve the heightened level of speed with his muscles already relaxed enough to execute his Quick Attack. Going from Agility to Double Team was something I liked as well; out of nowhere would appear several Scizor, and Sableye would have no idea which was the real Ripper since they’d all become visible at the last time. Finally, Bug Bite would be there to strike when Sableye was at her most vulnerable; her Ghost/Dark typing would prevent the attack from being super-effective, but hopefully still do enough damage to take out a nice chunk of her HP.
    "Replacement needed! Replacement needed!" screeched the Haro that was on his desk. It was a medium size orange circle approximately the size of a basketball. On the face was two thin eyes and a thin black smile. He bounced up and down, flapping his ears/wings as he projected a hologram onto the wall on the current specs of his next run. One Ms Saundra Blake. He looked her over and the screen and nodded in approval. Seems her main Pokemon was a Scizor, a Bug/Steel type. That seemed like a good companion to have in that neck of the woods. Meteor Valley was known for its Psychic, Dark and Ghost types. Realizing he had to head out now, he took the path towards the teleport pad on the other end of the hallway. Saki came up behind me and nuzzled my leg, some of her pink fur rubbing off on his blue pant leg. A stark contrast. He picked her up and put her in his arms like a small kitten as he closed the glass door and teleported off to the Meteor valley Zone.
    He exited the cylinder once on the other side and Saki exited to the ground. Checking the database computer on that end, he was able to see where Saundra was through her Rangers PDA. "So still only on the first encounter eh?" he mutter and turned to Saki and began running. Saundra would be close by since it was only the first encounter so after a few minutes of running they reached up to them. Kiryu let the ranger know that he was needed back at HQ for an event that was coming up. "I'll handle things over here." Once the ranger was gone, Kiryu let his presence known to her although it was quite un ninja-like. "Hello, My name is Kiryu MacTavish and I'll be your ranger since Headquarters need your other one back." He did his best not to distract her from the battle at hand a the Scizor was strafing side and boosting faster with the use of Agility. It was hard for him to see out the corner of his eye but much harder for Sableye. She inhaled greatly and released a wide spread stream of ice that sparkled and glittered. It was an Icy Wind attack to try and slow the Scizor down but that didn't much good at all.
    Once he was in range, Ripper crossed his arms and glowed in a white light faintly before encircling the Sableye with multiple clones before he was going to strike. The claws glowed a faint olive green and proceeded to strike as out of the blurs, Ripper jetted out and used his claws to bite down on the Sableye. That must have hurt.
    Thanks to his presence being needed back at the main office of the Park, my current Ranger was swapped out with another, who introduced himself as Kiryu MacTavish. He was dressed in what was clearly ninja garb, but I didn’t let his arrival or appearance distract me too much from the battle. Instead, I acknowledged his presence with a hand raised in greeting, chuckling a little when Sableye unleashed an Icy Wind attack to try and slow Ripper down.
    “Clever girl,” I remarked, “but not enough. Once Ripper gets going it’s not so easy to slow him down!” Ripper’s Bug Bite attack landed a moment later, his pinchers snapping shut around the smaller purple Pokemon and squeezing about her body like a vice. Ripper understood how important it was to keep his distance from Sableye, though, and quickly released her from his crushing grip. He darted backwards, his clones mimicking his actions, and the several crimson insects darted back and forth as Ripper awaited his next command. They were all moving slower now, thanks to Sableye’s Icy Wind, but the attack hadn’t been nearly enough to completely counter his Agility.
    From what I could see Sableye looked like she was starting to droop a little. No doubt Ripper’s last move would have cleared away a decent chunk of her HP, which was of course what we had been going for. Now was the time to pull back a bit, though, and use one final move that would put Sableye in a prime condition to be captured.
    “Ripper!” I called to the steel-bodied mantis, “let’s wrap this up! Fire up an Air Slash attack!”
    In response, Ripper and his clones raised both arms and opened their pinchers, then swung their arms down and snapped their pinchers shut with such force an audible crack sounded through the air. The momentum of the downward swing, on top of the power with which Ripper’s pinchers shut, created a slipstream of air that resembled a contained heat wave simmering in the air. The slipstream shot forward, displacing the air in front of it as it closed the distance between itself and its target; several other slipstreams also hurtled towards Sableye, though these were about as solid as the clones that made them.
    Air Slash, being a Special attack, wasn’t really one of Ripper’s stronger moves. Scizor aren’t known for their prowess in using Special moves, after all; their strength lies in physical power. Being fairly high in power, though, coupled with its chance at momentarily stunning the foe and leaving them unable to attack, made it a good move to use in this case. It would hopefully be strong enough to take Sableye’s HP down enough so she could be caught, without being so strong that it knocked her out altogether. On top of that, if she ended up flinching, it would give me the perfect chance to catch her.
    I dug a ParkBall free and tossed it into the air casually, catching it over and over as I waited for the right moment to act…
    OOC: You get to bunny me chucking the Ball whether Sable flinches or not lol.
    Ranger: Trainer Sara
    Trainer: Siless
    Location: Meteor Valley Ranger Outpost
    NPB #1
    “I’m back!” I called merrily, walking through the door of the Ranger Outpost for Meteor Valley. The receptionist and several off-duty Rangers glanced over and offered various greetings, looking quite surprised by my sudden arrival. I could understand completely; I’d suddenly had to leave several months ago when personal matters had demanded my attention, and my departure had been rather abrupt. I hadn’t had time to check in because I’d been so busy, so everyone had probably been wondering what had been going on.
    “Everything fine?” someone asked me, a Ranger I didn’t recognize. Probably someone who’d been hired while I was away, since I made it a habit to get to know all the Rangers who worked here at the Park. He’d most likely been told about me at some point, to be asking if everything was okay. I smiled at him and nodded once, clapping my hands together as I approached the reception desk.
    “Yeah, it was crazy the past several months, but it’s all been taken care of. Sorry I just kinda ran out on everyone like I did,” I said to the others, glancing around the room. “I’ve already stopped at all the other Outposts to say hi and everything, and this was the last stop for me.”
    “Hey Ms. Sara, I hate to spring this on you when you literally just got back and all, but we have a last-minute application here for Meteor Valley. Do y’think you might be able to take the guy through?” the young receptionist asked, looking somewhat guilty. The other Rangers were probably on break, and with me being free and here, it was only natural for the kid to ask. I nodded at him and moved around the desk to look over the application, which had been put through just a few minutes ago.
    “Siless, seventeen-year-old male. Bringing in a Gardevoir and a Mismagius,” I muttered, going over the important bits of information and storing them away. “Yeah, I can take him no problem. I was actually planning on taking someone through a run after I was done spreading the word of my triumphant return,” and here several people snickered good-naturedly, “so this is perfect.”
    Just as I finished speaking, the door to the Outpost opened, and I turned to see my Trainer walking through the door. Most likely he Teleported here with his Gardevoir after filling out his application at the Docks, but then again he could have arrived in other manners. Teleporters had been installed around the Park to facilitate ease of access to various places, and all the Outposts had a resident Pokemon that could Teleport people wherever they needed to go within the Park. We also had a few carrier Dragonite that carried people from place to place; it was a service that had been started a few months ago, for people who disliked the sensation of Teleporting. It was a nifty idea, one I was more than happy to assist with expanding.
    “Well hey there,” I said as I walked over to my Trainer. “My name is Trainer Sara, and I’ll be your Ranger for your trip through Meteor Valley. Ready to get out there and see what’s waiting for you?”
    "Nice to meet you, Sara. I'm Siless and this is Sela." My Gardevoir bowed in greeting to the Ranger. I also patted the Pokéball on my belt. "Missy's in here, though while we're out and about like this she prefers to wait until battle to make an appearance."
    I remembered seeing this Ranger once or twice early on in my employment, but she seemed to be rushing to pack and then just… disappeared. She must have only just gotten back, since I was gone from the office just long enough to go on a run for myself. I had been swamped with paperwork, and as soon as I got that done, I went out to get some experience; I couldn't find a trainer to take on a run myself, so I did the next best thing of going out on one of my own.
    I wasn't exactly sure if Sara knew I was a ranger; it was only a couple small meetings before she left at most. Still, knowing I had a bit of experience could be helpful to her.
    "You just came back from a long… vacation, right?" I wasn't exactly sure what word to use; vacation normally implies that they took their leave on purpose, though I had no way of knowing. It still was probably the safest word to use, I supposed. "I think I was hired right before you left, though we never got a chance to introduce ourselves."
    I had my Poképlayer already prepared with a Gothita voice disk. Once introductions were done and we were on our way, I'd turn it on and the three of us could be on our way, ready to take whatever the Valley throws at us.
    I nodded at Siless’s Gardevoir when she bowed, smiling a little. Gardevoir were always so calm and polite. For a moment I reminisced about my old Gardevoir, Prophet, who I’d released into the Valley some years ago to watch over a small community of Ralts. Once in a while she’d come by to say hello, but for the most part, her work in caring for the Ralts took most of her time and energy.
    "You just came back from a long…vacation, right?" Siless asked, pulling me from my memories. He hesitated on the word “vacation”, as if not certain it was the proper word to use yet unable to think of anything less offensive. I chuckled a little as he added, "I think I was hired right before you left, though we never got a chance to introduce ourselves."
    “Vacation is a…well, yes, let’s just go with that. I suppose it’s more pleasant than saying I was MIA for a while. At any rate, I quite literally just returned.” Then I smiled a little. “And I thought your name was familiar. I do remember seeing you a couple of times before I had to go. Not to mention your application mentioned you’re a Ranger as well. I normally make it a habit to get to know people working here, so I guess this is the perfect opportunity, eh?”
    After a few more minutes of getting everything in order, we headed out the back door to where the roost for our transport Dragonite were. There were only three here, one of them preening and the other two sparring. I gave a whistle and the two sparring Dragonite flew over; the third looked up from its cleaning, then went back to its task when it saw it wasn’t needed. I mounted up on the smaller Dragonite, a female, and Siless was soon on his, along with Sela.
    Not even four minutes later, the Dragonite dropped us off at the entrance to the Valley. It sprawled before us, carved into the ground as if a giant cleaver had sliced it into existence. I inhaled deeply, savoring the scent of various flowers and fresh grass, then grinned and shot Siless a look.
    “Well then, I suppose it’s time to get going, hm?”
    As we landed, I released Sela from her ball again (I didn't want to have to worry about weighing down the Dragonite) and thanked the Flying-type for its services. I didn't have much else to prepare for the trip; my items were, for the most part, ready, as were my Pokémon. All I had to do was start up my Poképlayer with the Gothita voice disk I had ready, and I would do that once we were off.
    "Ready, Sela?" It was far more important my Pokémon were prepared, as they were the ones doing most of the hard work; as a Trainer, my job was to act as a tactician rather than a combatant. Sela nodded to tell me she was ready. The question was half-directed to Missy too, though if she wasn't ready I was sure I would've heard it a long time ago. She was far more vocal about it than Sela.
    "Alright, we're all ready." I grabbed the Poképlayer from my pack, ready to turn it on whenever we started going. I felt prepared for whatever Meteor Valley could throw at us, and, at the moment, that was the best I could do.
    Once we’d arrived, Siless pulled a PokePlayer from his pack and hit the play button. After a moment of silence, a trilling cry rose from the device’s speaker. The Gothita cry echoed for several dozen yards before petering out; after a few moments it was obvious that the cry had either gone unheard or was being ignored. After waiting a few more moments to make sure there wouldn’t be any late arrivals, I rolled my shoulders and shot Siless an apologetic smile.
    “Once we get into the valley proper, the cry will echo further and there might be a better chance-“
    I was cut off when I sensed a sudden probing sensation in my head. Instantly alert, I reached for my belt and pulled free the Ball containing Flutter, my Venomoth. She was a recent addition to my party and hadn’t seen much time in battle really, but from what I’d seen of her I knew she was a strong ally. A brief stab of white light accompanied her release from the Cherish Ball, and a moment later she was circling my head. The large lavender moth instantly felt the probing sensation as the entity studied her; chittering irritably, the normally good-natured Venomoth clicked her mandibles together and released a visible Psychic attack. The maroon-hued energy pulsed outward, and a moment later a portion of it struck something in the air I couldn’t see. The air rippled in this spot before a Pokemon abruptly seemed to appear out of nowhere.
    “Oh,” I said, understanding what was going on when the Dragon was revealed. It was Latios, one of the so-called guardians of Meteor Valley. The sleek-bodied creature had most likely been nearby when he heard the Gothita Voice Disc go off; out of curiosity, or perhaps concern, he had come to see what was going on. Not finding a Gothita, he had probably become worried and had probed our minds to see what was going on. He must have found something that put him at ease, as he wouldn’t have dropped his illusion of invisibility otherwise.
    For a moment the blue-and-white Dragon just hovered before us, then glided forward to peer at the Voice Disc in Siless’s hands. He then drew himself upright, levitating vertically, tilting his head and staring at the device. It didn’t take long for him to lose interest in the thing, though, and after a moment he drew away from Siless, casting a look between him and myself. I shrugged and smiled, not really sure what else it was he wanted.
    “Sorry, didn’t mean to worry you or anything. Just trying to find a Gothita is all. Hope we haven’t disturbed you too much.”
    The mental prodding was familiar enough (though it was far more forceful than what I normally experienced). I gave free reign to Sela over the information in my mind, mostly just so she could practice, but also because I simply didn't have anything to hide; if I couldn't trust my own Pokémon, then there was very little I could justify trusting at all. The feeling was pretty much identical to what it felt like when Sela was reading, though the sheer force of it gave me a bit of a headache. I immediately knew it wasn't Sela, but before I could do anything about it Sara had already released her Venomoth who responded to this probing force with an erratic Psychic.
    Psychic struck its invisible target, and a blue-and-white figure started materializing before us; it wasn't long before we all recognized it as Latios, the Eon Pokémon. It examined my Poképlayer, discovering that the Gothita sounds were emanating from it rather than an actual Gothita.
    "Sorry, didn't mean to worry you or anything. Just trying to find a Gothita is all. Hope we haven't disturbed you too much." Latios seemed slightly content at Sara's response, though it never actually responded. I didn't know how to really continue, though I did remember that it did get hit with Venomoth's Psychic. Even as a Legendary Pokémon, damage can stack up, and if nothing else it shouldn't have to go on with damage it got while making sure everything was alright.
    "Sela, could you patch Latios up with a Heal Pulse?" Sela nodded, and a pink ring formed around her and extended to the Dragon-type. The Pulse invigorated me as it passed through, though it couldn't actually heal me unless I was the target. I took out my camera as well; I wanted a picture of the occasion, if nothing else to put on my desk back at the main outpost, but I wasn't going to push the issue if Latios wasn't willing, and I was perfectly fine coming out of this pictureless.
