    NBP, Ranger Serenity Nijihana

Serenity lay on the ground, beneath a shady tree, by the station, accompanied by Sapphire, her Empoleon, and Amethyst, her purple Blaziken. She was clad in light purple cargo pants and a plain periwinkle T-shirt which she wore instead of her usual rainbow dress and shorts. Her long red-brown hair was scattered across her face and sprawled out on the grass. The girl was content, and peaceful, her large breasts slightly flattened by gravity. The girl was trying to calm herself, as she was quite anxious for her very first job. Only just having become a ranger for the mysterious island, she was worried that she would allow something horrid to happen to such a lovely place. Still a tad aware of her surroundings, the teen felt like a person was approaching her.

“Hello?” She stammered and sat up, “May I help you?” Serenity scratched her head, her hair a bit messy.

    Re: Individual RP: Siless

Siless stepped out of the station, blocking the "harsh" sunlight with his fedora. His Gardevoir raced ahead of him, embracing the glowing ball in the sky.

"Don't go too far, Sela. We have to meet up with our ranger. We don't know who's showing up or when, so..." The trainer let the thought slip away from him as he started to check his surroundings. "Well.. we're at the station.. whoever's assigned to us can't be that far, right?"

Siless started to make his way over to the shade, with Sela following.

    "Hello? May I help you?"

A young lady stood up from under the tree, calling to the pair. Well, there's hardly anyone else here.. "Would you happen to be our ranger for this trip? I'm Siless." The Trainer then gestured to his Pokémon. "And this is Sela."

    BP-1(i think), Ranger Serenity Nijihana

"Oh, yes. Yes I am. Ranger Serenity Nijihana, at your service." She got to her feet, and helped her pokemon up. "If you would follow me, please." Serenity said and began walking.

[time skip to the Meteor Valley, as I'm not sure where we currently are.]

"This." She paused for dramatic affect. "is Meteor Valley." There were flowers scattered everywhere, and the sight was really beautiful. With the blue sky above them, it was surely a good omen. "So let's find you some pokemon!" Serenity cheered.
The teenaged girl began looking around, trying to find a pokemon to catch. Unfortunatly, she forgot to look where she was going and tripped over something hard and fell to the ground, but the grass was tall and soft, and thus cushioned the crash. The ranger stood up with the help of her Blaziken and then bent down to find what had caused her to trip.
Picking it up, she discovered that it was a stone. It had a crack going straight through the center. There was an eerie presence coming from the rock in her hands. Gently setting it down on the grass, she whispered.
"It's a Spiritomb. What do you want to do with it?"

(OOC-Character count needs to reach a certain stage before I can capture, and it goes from the end of one encounter to the end of the next, whether or not it's a successful capture. It shouldn't carry over to the next mon. Also, I believe it's a Non-Battle Post until I engage it.)

Siless saw the being emerge from the stone. The sight of a Spiritomb so soon in his first adventure into the park shook him a bit, but it also intrigued him as well, as it'd make a useful ally. He always let Sela have a say in his choice of team members when he could, though.

"What do you think, Sela? Think he'd be fun to have around?"

The Gardevoir approached the stone and examined the spirit emanating from it as closely as she could without making it immediately hostile. The very presence of the being shook her to her core, but this power drew her interest. The Pokémon focused on the Spiritomb, whom she now decided was her opponent, and herself, drawing in the power that overpowered her before.

"She's Tracing the Spiritomb's Pressure," Siless analyzed. "It's not going to make it easier for her to strike it, but it'll force the Spiritomb to fight on the same level.."

Sela focused on the task she set forth for herself-testing the Spiritomb's power.

"Alright, you decided?" Sela answered her trainer with a nod. "Let's start by seeing what it's capable of! Use your Future Sight, and try to avoid whatever it sends out!"

Sela's eyes began to glow a bright blue as they began to filter in visions of the future.

"Don't overexert yourself, Sela! This will be a long battle!"

Neither the Gardevoir nor the Trainer knew if the information being shown by Future Sight was accurate, thanks to the Pressure from the Spiritomb, but they considered it their best shot at gaining an early upper hand.

(OOC-Well... ~2k down, 54k to go. Let's have some fun, shall we?)

The pokemon came fully out of its hiding place, and was now floating a couple feet above the ground. Serenity and her pokemon stepped back to watch the battle unfold. The Spiritomb looked healthy as he stuck its tongue out at Siless and Sela. His body delicately swirled about, and he simply stared at the pair after retracting its purple tongue. Serenity winced at this, as she did not realize that they even had tongues in the first place.

Suddenly, the transparent form began spinning faster and he opened his mouth wide. Out of it, came a single, deeply colored ring. A slightly bigger one followed it. The pattern continued until there were about five of them steadily heading towards them. However, this Spiritomb was out to tease.

The Hypnosis picked up speed, and zoomed in the direction of Sela. Sela appeared to be ready for whatever could be thrown at her, motivated by the kind words of her trainer.

    Re: Individual RP: Siless

"T-tongue.." Siless was surprised. This Spiritomb appeared to be more mischievous than what he had expected from it.

If it's such a trickster, Siless thought to himself, then it may not be as strong as I expected... But at the same time, it's devious. We'll need to watch out for it.

"Keep your guard up, Sela! This one may try to trick you!"

"Gar! De!" Sela shouted in affirmation.

"We should try and keep it from attacking. Too many tricks, and we'll be bound to fall for one of them."

Sela nodded, and kept a sharp eye on her opponent. The spectral disc that formed its face seemed to have started spinning while it was staring in her direction, and it started to unnerve her. Still, she stood strong as she was the one who started the battle.

Siless had no idea of the Future Sight from before had actually worked through the Pressure. He assumed it was too soon to tell, but he couldn't have Sela use it as her sole defense. Trying to see through time was fine for single moves or so, but began to get exhausting rather quickly, and she certainly couldn't hold it for a long battle..

"Relax on the Future Sight, Sela!" At this command, the Gardevoir's eyes stopped glowing and she shook as her entire presence was forced back into the present. It was jarring for her, but they both knew it was better than leaving her in that state, exhausting herself while her consciousness was split across time.

"Now use Double Team! Don't let it hit you!" Siless knew that ending Future Sight prematurely gave Sela back the unused energy from the attack, but also made it less likely for the short duration the attack was working to have any effect on the battle. He had to make sure that Sela could avoid anything the Spiritomb sent at her.

Upon hearing her trainer, Sela focused on herself and appeared to split her physical form into four beings, all surrounding the Spiritomb. Each form had a bit of a blur, making it difficult to tell which Gardevoir was Sela and which ones were illusions.

Spiritomb had been spinning for some time now, and it seemed to be much faster. While Sela was preparing for attacks, three dark rings formed around the disc-like face of Spiritomb and a fourth began to grow.

Siless didn't know exactly what moves were available to a Spiritomb, but this attack was too similar to one he knew first-hand that he had recognized it instantly.

"Sela, be careful! It's charging up a Hypnosis!"

Sela affirmed what she had been told; she had used that attack (and had it used against her) enough times to identify most forms of it. The Spiritomb appeared to be aiming at the form closest to Siless, which prepared itself to jump out of the way of the sleep-inducing rings.

The fourth ring completed, and the fifth ring neared the edges. The ring quickly completed, and the five dark rings threw themselves at the Gardevoir form standing in front of the Spiritomb. The form attempted to jump out of the way, but the large, fifth ring hit it in the foot, causing it to be drowsy. If it was the real one, it would have to fight to stay awake, and if it was just a form, it would soon disappear. Siless had to send a command, just in case Sela could still fight.

Spiritomb would be impossible to manipulate itself with Psychic powers.. but.. possibly the stone? Would that be vulnerable?

"Sela! Use Confusion on its base! Flip it around, make it dizzy, anything to keep it from using its tricks on you!"

All four Gardevoir forms, including the drowsy one, began to glow blue, along with the stone that formed the base of Spiritomb. If Sela wasn't the one that got hit by Hypnosis, then the attack may work, but Siless still wasn't sure manipulating the base would do anything. Still, it was better than nothing.

The replica Sela faded away into oblivion, leaving a somewhat irritated ghost type. There were now only three copies preforming the attack. He listened carefully to the trainers orders, and to tell the truth, also did not know if the attack would work. Spiritomb didn't want to take any chances though. Making his shadow grow to a point ouside the circle, he sunk into it, rock and all.

He emerged directly behind the Sela that had been across from the now eliminated clone. The Spiritombs once green, eyes and mouth were glowing a deep shade of pink. A ball was forming in front of his face. While irritated that his Hypnosis failed, he was quite enjoying the battle so far.

Serenity and her pokemon watched with uttmost curiosity. "Why on earth is he trying to fight a Ghost/Dark type with a Psychic type? It doesn't seem like the smartest plan to me..." She wondered. "At this rate, we'll be here a while. Especially with the Spiritomb being such a tease and a trickster."

The orb quickly reached the size of Sela's head within a matter of seconds. With a diabolical grin, it was launched at the Gardevior from behind, only a yard between them at most. Immediately after the release, he seeped back into the ground, hoping that the Confuse Ray had hit.

    Re: Individual RP: Siless

    "It disappeared!"

The three remaining Gardevoir images stopped glowing as the Spiritomb seemed to fade from existence, eliminating their target. The frustration emanating from the ghost-type assured Sela that it didn't go far, and the three images kept their eye out. If the frustration was any stronger, Sela would probably have been able to pinpoint exactly where the Spiritomb was, but since it proved to be only a slight annoyance, she could only sense its presence and not its location.

"Could have been a Shadow Sneak..." Siless spoke his thoughts out loud. The Spiritomb seemed to be sticking to attacks he knew, which made things easier to react to. "Watch yourself! It can come from anywhere there's shadow!"

It seemed the ghost-type was considerably intelligent as well, having reacted to shouted commands. Siless briefly considered having Sela communicate telepathically with him, but decided against it, as it would produce a small, but constant, drain on her energy. Instead, he opted for commands that the pair trained with together; the Spiritomb wouldn't know what the commands meant in most cases until the attack went through. Still, Siless and Sela hadn't trained for all situations, so there would inevitably be a few strategies that involve commands the Spiritomb would understand and attempt to thwart. And all they knew right now was that it was now unseen, but there somewhere, ready to strike with whatever it wanted to.

    "Shield yourself, Sela!"

The Gardevoir and the two images stood strong and formed a protective barrier around themselves (the images only producing further images, trying to emulate the real Pokémon). The Protect was fresh, and, not needing a break, left no angle uncovered.

The Spiritomb emerged from the ground behind the Gardevoir furthest from Siless, cackling and unleashing a powerful, ghostly orb at his target. The orb struck the shield hard, but to Siless, it appeared to hold. There was no clue if Sela took any damage or not, and if it did, Sela didn't want to show that weakness to the opponent. For all Siless knew, it struck a false image, and it would be fading soon after.

As soon as the orb struck, the Spiritomb returned to the ground and Sela and her images released the Protect.

"Shift, and focus yourselves! We won't let it gain the upper hand!" Siless called out. "You can bring this thing down!" The battle was difficult, and the pressure made him excited. Sela smirked; she knew battles like this one let him get his emotions out, and she enjoyed it.

The three forms came together as one Gardevoir, and it used up the remaining energy from both the original Double Team and the prior-canceled Future Sight to attempt to form 2 more images which would scatter across the battlefield.

Sela began to focus on exerting her new-found Pressure, but they knew any images wouldn't have this luxury. If the Spiritomb came up to strike the real Sela, the Pressure may make it hesitate long enough to let Sela retaliate. If not, the image would surely fall, but Sela and Siless could then focus on recovering spent energy while exhausting the Spiritomb's resources.

The Protect cracked from the impact of the Confuse Ray, but was not pennetrated. It would be challenging for her to attempt that again. Spritomb decided that it was time to use his secret weapon. He surfaced, a bit far away from the Selas, and began to glow again, noticing that they had re-hidden the true Sela. The ghost type had practiced this time and time again. This however, was the field test.

Floating as high as he could during the effects of Pressure, which was only about ten feet up, Spiritomb shot a plethora of purple rings into the sky. They were of all shapes and sizes, and carefully placed. After each set of five, the pokemon formed a sphere and sent it after the ring. In a span of fifteen seconds, there were now three groups of five rings and a dark pink ball.

Serenity observed the Hypnosis' encircling the Confuse Ray, and watched intently. She could not fathom how this Spiritomb had become so smart and clever. "I wonder how common it is for a wild pokemon to use combos? It certainly can't be all that common. Can it?"

He was now content with the number of Hypno-Rays, and sent one spiraling down upon each of the three Gardevoirs. Spiritomb couldn't recall having this much fun messing with a trainer and their pokemon in a long time.

    Re: Individual RP: Siless

Sela sensed less of the frustration of before; it seemed to be replaced by a great giddiness. Both Sela and her trainer saw the Spiritomb surface far away, most likely preparing some sort of tricks. Still, it was their best chance for some rest.

"Sela, go ahead and prepare a Wish. You've deserved it." Even if the Gardevoir appeared to be undamaged, the Wish should help it restore the energy she's been using.

While the Wish was being made, the Spiritomb began to rise into the air. It began to launch Hypnosis rings into the air, but they stayed in place.

"It's focusing on Hypnosis," Siless stated. He was soon proven to be wrong, as the Spiritomb added an orb to the rings. "Confuse ray too?"

This combination proved to be a problem; Confuse Ray was amazingly accurate, and it seemed it would be leading the attack. Even if the accuracy wasn't granted to the Hypnosis as well, it would end up a problem as the confusion would likely hinder any effort to avoid the rings.

Siless had an idea, but it was risky. The move had never been used in a serious combat situation before. If it did work, however, the Spiritomb's Hypnosis would be rendered ineffective, and though Confuse Ray would still work, it could hopefully be fixed by a quick round of focus (though that's never worked either. It was the best bet though).

"Sela, it's trying to put you to sleep again! Can you Imprison the Hypnosis before it gets to you?"

At this point, self-preservation was key. If Sela fell asleep, then she'd be at the mercy of her opponent until Siless could recall her. If not, then she could take the time to recover her energy.

Maybe we could try to befriend it soon? Sela's fighting hard.. but we have to last long enough to get to it.

"Let's see if we can get it to the point where we can talk to it. If it even considers the chance to come with us, it may be well worth it."

It may not be the best idea to reason with a trickster, Siless thought. But we lasted this long together. We have a chance at it, and we won't know until we take it.

    Re: Individual RP: Siless

    BP

Just as the attack was about to slam onto Sela, she put a transparent pink box around it. The other two Hypno-Rays crashed into their respective targets. One of the fake Gardevoirs vanished in a puff of smoke, the other faded away like the first one.

Caught in the cube, the rings and orb ricocheted off the 'walls' like mad, progressively gaining speed. Bouncing like super-bouncy balls, the Imprison above Sela started to crack. Spiritomb flew towards it viciously, and hit the pink box with its stone. Serenity observed that he had most likely used a Faint Attack. It both shattered the Gardevoir's defense against the Hypno-Ray, and turned it into shrapnel.

He then summoned up an Ominous Wind that blew the rose-colored shards at Sela. She made an effort to put up another Protect out of reflex, as there was no time for Siless to issue any commands. The clear shield was not very strong, and had many holes. The blow was softened though. If it weren't for the Protect, it easily could have been an OHKO.

When the smoke created by the impact cleared, Sela stood strong, but far from unscathed. There were several scratches, and even a few tiny peices of the Imprison lodged into various places in her skin. The Hypnosis failed to work, and for the time being it appeared that the Confuse Ray didn't either. Sela was not completely confused by it, her mind was only somewhat scattered and it would be challenging for her to think straight for a little while. The best thing that came out of it, is that the Spiritomb had gotten caught in the blast. He retreated back into the shadow, frusterated, in order to nurse its ever so slight wounds, and decide what to do next.

    Re: Individual RP: Siless

Imprison didn't work the way Siless expected.. Probably what happens when done on reflex, as opposed to sealing the move before it occurs.

"Sela, are you alright?" All he knew was that, after Imprison formed, it exploded. He had to make sure everything was alright.

"G-Garde.. voir.." Sela was slightly wounded, but most of all, she was exhausted. She felt a great sense of relief knowing the Wish had been sent, and all she had to do was wait for it to be in top form. The Spiritomb backing off gave her plenty of time, but it could come back at any time.

Siless noted the immediate problem; Confuse Ray seemed to have some effect, even if it wasn't its full effect. Sela was having difficulty even standing still. Siless considered switching her out, but that would waste her Wish; she deserved at least that. If she could get her thoughts together, though, she had a good chance to outdo the Spiritomb..

"Sela, try to use a Calm Mind! See if you can get your thoughts back together!"

Sela's thoughts were scattered all over the place; memories of when she was a Ralts in particular filled her mind, but it seemed everything was there in some form. First a strong memory of a powerful Thunderpunch hitting her in her first serious battle, then giving all of her strength to the Ludicolo that won the match in her place... Charming an opponent for a quick moment of rest... Being compelled to make copies of herself over and over again in the middle of a huge battle...

Inside Sela's head was, well, a mess. She felt it wasn't anywhere near as bad as actually being confused, but it was certainly debilitating. Thoughts and memories floated left and right, and while she was aware of her actual surroundings, it was beginning to get difficult for her to tell reality from her own fantasies.

She heard her trainer's voice. It seemed too soft, but it had to be his.

Again. This time it was louder, but no more clear. She couldn't tell what he was saying...

She felt pain. The previous attack left her wounded. The malice seemed to have disappeared, but, at the same time, it could just be masking itself under the pain. She knew there was still the possibility of attack...

She saw the field. It was bright, in the middle of the day, but to her it appeared shrouded in shadows. She was unsure if this was the effect of what just happened or simply her frustration with not being able to protect herself as well as she wanted. She wasn't even sure if she was frustrated, to be honest.

She heard... Siless. That's all she heard. She could barely make his voice out, but he wanted her to do something. And to that, she would need to focus...

Sela stood silently, trying to sense the Spiritomb's presence. She closed her eyes in an effort to eliminate the distracting images from her mind. The ghost type was lurking beneath the Gardevoir's own shadow however. "What did he say...? Almond?"

He shot out like a cannon and stopped directly above her. More rings were formed. These ones however, were much larger. Big enough so that they did not touch Sela, but surrounded her instead. There was little to no wiggle room availiable.

In what was probably the nik of time, sparkles began to descend upon the psychic pokemon. Landing on the scratches that covered her body, most of them vanished, others leaving faint scars. Sela felt rejuvinated. At that point however, she noticed that the Hypnosises were shrinking, and would soon some into contact with her. If she was going to not get sleepy, she would have to do something. Fast.

The ranger's pokemon had laid down away from the battle, leaving only Serenity watching. It appeared that the battle was getting nowhere, so she decided to give a few words of advice.
"Here's a suggestion. You could try fighting fire with fire." She said with a smile- hoping that Siless would know what she meant.

    Re: Individual RP: Siless

The battle has been going on for a while, and it probably had to go on longer for even a chance at a capture.. The Spiritomb didn't even seem to be tired.

If it's going to be a while, Siless decided, it was probably time to return to basic techniques to save energy.

To the trainer, the Wish looked like it restored a good bit of focus to the Pokémon. At least she had her energy restored, which was better than nothing. Siless still wasn't sure, however, if that meant she was able to use her psychic powers to full effect. Now, saving energy wasn't the only reason for using basic powers; if she attempted powerful techniques without fully recovering her mind, the results could be catastrophic. Basic techniques, ones that she's been able to use almost her whole life, could also help her focus; she'd be back to full focus in nearly no time at all.

Also, falling asleep at this point was like the worst possible action. She couldn't let the rings touch her. The trainer considered Protect, but not only would that be weaker than normal due to her using it several times back-to-back, but even if it was engraved into her memory by use of a Technical Machine, it still wasn't completely natural to her. She needed focus for it, and Siless wasn't sure if she had enough for it.

"Sela, try to Teleport out of that Hypnosis!" This was the most basic technique that Siless knew that Sela had, possibly besides Growl, which wasn't any help in this situation.

Sela quickly looked around for a place to Teleport too, but her vision was still shadowy; she thought she saw Hypnosis rings everywhere, not just around her. The Gardevoir couldn't be sure of anywhere on the ground that was safe, but the rings surrounding her were close enough that she was sure they ended above a certain height. And something was up there, probably the Spiritomb, because something shot up into the air before the Hypnosis rings formed.

Sela decided to take to the air. It was better than being stuck falling asleep, or teleporting into another ring column and falling asleep anyways. And, if it turned out the Spiritomb was up there, she could hopefully do something about it, even with her frazzled mind.

The form of Sela glowed a bright blue right before disappearing, leaving the rings to impact with light-residue instead of the Gardevoir. She reappeared above the Spiritomb, slightly dizzy but better than what she had been before. She had teleported too high to see the Spiritomb without looking around, but as soon as she appeared, she heard her trainer shouting to her, helping her find her target.

"Sela! Use a Hypnosis directly under you!" Hypnosis was another one of the moves Siless considered 'basic', with good reason; it was the first one she ever used (having left Siless drowsy from the experience). It wasn't as simple as a Teleport, but it was still instinctual for the protective Gardevoir; a sleeping predator won't be attacking anytime soon, after all. And if it did hit, there was no doubt a Dream Eater would be able to completely restore her senses...

Sela glanced down, seeing the back of the Spiritomb. It seemed preoccupied with its present Hypnosis, but without seeing its face, she wasn't sure. Still, she had to take the chance to strike. The Gardevoir proceeded to launch a small series of Hypnosis rings of her own at the back of the ghost, launching her up slightly with each ring.

It's a good thing she levitates naturally, Siless thought. A fall from that height would hurt.

The Hypnosis hit the Spiritomb like a ton of bricks. He fell to the ground hard enough that an impression was made in the ground. His vision was hazy, and he somehow managed to get up. Looking up at the blue sky, he contemplated what to do next. They had foiled all of his tricks. Then the answer hit him as well.

The operative word was they. Spiritomb gathered up his consiousness and aimed a weak Hypnosis straight up. It raced towards his opponent, as he had put more energy into giving it speed rather than power. Once again, his eyes and mouth glowed red. A particularly sinister looking ball was being created in front of his face. This one was clearly different from the other Confuse Rays.

It burst open, and like a stream of light directed by a flashlight, the Confuse Ray headed towards his enemy. Red light could be quite blinding, like looking directly at the sun, or a laser pointer. Spiritomb was doing something quite unorthadox. Both attacks reached their destinations simultaniously. The Hypnosis rings at Sela, and the beam at Siless.

After launching, he drifted off to slumber, not even getting to see the results of the attacks.

    Re: Individual RP: Siless

Sela had hit her mark... For a moment, she was satisfied. Almost instantly, that satisfaction turned to dread... and then, to pure anger.

...Her Trainer was her life. Attacking him was unforgivable.

Siless didn't even have time to think about dodging before the form of his Gardevoir appeared in front of him to intercept the attack.

The Hypnosis Rings flew by the light residue from Sela's Teleport. The large, red Confuse Ray, however, hit the Gardevoir square-on. Sela took on the whole beam, preventing any from going to her trainer, but effectively shattering her mind in confusion in the process. All she could pick out of her thoughts were her rage...

    Insolent...How.. DARE it...

Siless wasted no time beginning to dig through his pockets for one of his Full Heals... There was no way he was letting her suffer through this. Returning her to her ball to remove the confusion didn't even occur to him at the time; it happened too infrequently to the pair for him to remember in a tense situation.

He.. will... pay... Fragments of fury scattered to all corners of Sela's mind; she was incapable of normal thought, and the most she could do is fume.

Siless pulled out the Full Heal bottle and sprayed it all over Sela. Her mind came back to her with each squirt, and she realized the full extent of her rage. Still, she knew it would be a bad idea to start before the heal was applied, so she decided to use the time to plot exactly how the ghost should be punished.

    Dirty.. trickster..

As Siless applied the Full Heal, he knew something had to be wrong. Sela was emanating her raw emotion; her rage enveloped the trainer, forcing him to recoil back as soon as the medicine was fully applied. There was no doubt in Siless's mind why she was so angry, but in this state, there was no way he could get her to return to her Pokéball. Siless recalled Pokédex entries of his partner..

Gardevoir has the ability to read the future. If it senses impending danger to its Trainer, this Pokémon is said to unleash its psychokinetic energy at full power.

..there was no doubt in his mind..

Gardevoir has the psychokinetic power to distort the dimensions and create a small black hole. This Pokémon will try to protect its trainer even at the risk of its own life.

    ..all he could hope for..

It has the power to predict the future. Its power peaks when it is protecting its trainer.

..was for his Mild-mannered Sela to return..

Sela had never been this furious, and she was likely to expend a lot of energy. Normally, she was afraid of hurting the Pokémon too badly.. but right now, Siless was almost certain that she was afraid of not hurting it enough..

Siless had an idea.. the Spiritomb would be dreaming of this very battle.. and they could use that to help her recover her senses. He was.. scared, though. This wasn't like her to do this..

Is she really that determined to protect me?

"Sela!" Siless called out. "Feast on its dreams with Dream Eater!" While saying this, Siless backed away from the battlefield, knowing it would reassure Sela that he was out of range, or at least far enough away that he has time to react to Spiritomb.. He planned on moving for the rest of the battle, staying out of the way of the battling Pokémon.

Sela had no problem starting her attack, thanks to her mind recovering and her inhibitions removed. The Gardevoir began to glow a dark purple as it peered into the ghost's mind... and then stopped.

A Gardevoir made three images that joined it in battle... the trainer, clad in black, was cheering it on. Five large rings... formed around the vision.. and shot towards the form closest to the trainer... The largest ring hit, and the image disappeared. Then, the vision traveled through the ground, beyond the furthest Gardevoir. It surfaced, and a large, dark ball started to form....

Sela knew what this was. It was herself, battling for her trainer. She didn't need her rage to protect him...

The Gardevoir re-focused her efforts. The best way to protect Siless was to put this powerful beast under his control. It would be a long battle.. She needed to weaken the ghost. She needed to keep her own energy up. And she needed to keep her trainer out of harm's way.

Sela started up the Dream Eater again, with the focus to restore her own energy and weaken her opponent as opposed to punishing him.

The wave of aggression passed over the field as quickly as it came. Siless was glad that he got his mild-mannered partner back, and he approached the battlefield once more, making sure to keep a good distance between him and the ghost. He was so caught up in the moment, he didn't realize he was still carrying the empty Full Heal bottle until now. He put it in a pocket separate from his supplies in case he needed to heal again; he didn't want to pull out a useless bottle and waste time.

"We don't need this happening again. Right, Sela?" the trainer asked. His voice was full of relief.

"Voir!" the Gardevoir shouted in agreement. She didn't want to lose herself again, either. She resolved to try and keep her instincts in check.

As the Gardevoir began to glow the dark purple again, an orb appeared in front of her mouth.. she was ready to restore herself, and she began to attempt to take the dreams away from the ghost sleeping in front of her.

"Why do you care so much about what happens to that human?" The Spiritomb asked the pokemon invading his mind. He had used Dream Eater himself more than enough times to know how to telapathicly communicate with whomever was on the other end. Usually, he was the attacker, and he used this abiliy to psyche out his opponent.

"How can he mean so much to you?" Spiritomb questioned further. Their minds intertwined, he spoke to the Gardevoir. Through it, he sensed emotions as well. Determination, malice, and frusteration were all quite familiar to him. There was something else present though. It was warm, and subtle, but at the same time, strong and glowing. What was this emotion the psychic type was feeling?

Pokemon always protected their trainers. Trainers often protected their Pokemon as well. He had observed this time and time again, as people mad fultile efforts to capture him. What a peculiar symbiosis.

To his observation, Sela seemed quite surprised at the questions he asked. One might think that he was simply trying to unnerve her, but this was genuine curiosity.

    Re: Individual RP: Siless

To Sela, her love, as well as her protectiveness, of her trainer came as naturally as breathing. She was certain that there were reasons... she just never dwelled on that particular thought; she didn't need to know why, just that she did, and that was enough for her.

Still, she could only sense curiosity from the Spiritomb, not malice.

"We... are a team," the Gardevoir started. "More than that... we are... family. He's raised me from the moment I hatched.."

Siless caught echoes of the conversation; the two were in sync with each other enough that, when she did try to communicate via telepathy, remnants of her voice echoed to the trainer.

    ...are a team... are family...

Is she talking about me? Siless wondered, though he was certain of the answer. What is she telling the Spiritomb?

"We work together on everything. We've.. enjoyed ourselves spending time together.. We've fought our ways through tough times, and have grown stronger for it..."

Sela's introspection filled her with joy. The Spiritomb probably felt her joy from their mental link; it may even help him see her point of view.

    ...together... stronger..

The Gardevoir's joyousness passed over the Trainer in powerful waves that were paired with her mental voice. The emotion was powerful; Siless was glad it was directed at him, but at the same time he had to sit to avoid losing his balance in the emotions of another.

"I've grown strong for him... Battling may be difficult, but it's fun.. when you have someone you want to fight for.

Having someone like that.. gives life meaning. It is a joyous feeling, when you can protect someone."

This message was strong. Siless heard the entire thing, as opposed to bits and pieces of it. It surprised him a little; he never had this much insight into Sela's thoughts.

"Siless means everything to me. You could see why.. if you would try and protect someone.."

    ...everything... protect someone..

The emotions seemed to stabilize. Siless wasn't sure if Sela was trying to keep her conversation more private, or if she just realized that her powers were getting a little out-of-hand. It was fine with him either way; he knew that she had something in mind, and if he didn't need to be directly involved, it was probably for the best that he stay out of it.

Before Spiritomb had the chance to either accept or reject the offer, Sela continued. "You are a trickster, and there's no denying that. Do you not see that your tricks could also make you an excellent protector? An opponent that can't do anything... isn't very much of an opponent.." She considered an appeal based on what she saw of the ghost's nature may also help persuade it.

"I will keep fighting for him. It's up to you whether you want to come or not, but I will do my best to make you see things my way."

Sela did her best to persuade the ghost with reasoning; hopefully, it saw why she was doing what she was and may be inspired..

It's curiosity should be satisfied, at least.

Sela stood, ready to fight. The persuasion would most likely require time to sink in, and until then the battle was still on. She attempted to eat away the dreams the Spiritomb had that were unrelated to the Gardevoir and the battle; if he focused on what was left, the persuasion may sink in better.

"How would coming with you benifit me? He asked, very skeptical of what Sela was telling him. At that moment, he snapped out of his sleep and backed away with haste. "For now, I would like to spar. I haven't had this much fun in a while." Spiritomb said this out loud with a smirk. Opening his mouth wide, he began spewing purple gas.

It swirled about and formed a vortex. A whirlpool of Ominous Wind. He formed many little Confuse Rays at once, the size of marbles. After a matter of seconds there were 50 of them. Due to their tiny-ness, Spiritomb was able to produce large amounts of them at once. Before long, he shot them, and another 50 up into the Ominous wind. Grinning, he prepared a Dark Pulse. Up into the sky they want, dark purple rings far less organized than the Hypnosises used earlier.

They clotted together in the core of the ghostly tornado. It raged magnificently. Spiritomb took to the air, and flew into the spiral with his gullet opened up as big as he could. He ate the cluster of darkness, and started to glow the same color of the affore mentioned Dark Pulse. Hidden beneath the cover of the massive combo, he laughed. Even to the humans at the scene, there was nothing else it could be, other than a maniacal laughter, fueled by pure adrenaline and thrill.

    Re: Individual RP: Siless

Sela decided... simpler persuasion was in order. "You fight to trick, yes?" she directed into the large dark void. "Would you not have more.. targets, if you traveled?"

She still had to fight. A darker joy than her own filled the air around her emotion-sensing horn. She needed to get the ghost under control. To do that, she needed to pierce the storm, but if she tried to go in for a Psychic blow, the combination of attacks would batter her and shatter her mind once again.

Siless saw the storm rage as his Gardevoir snapped back to her senses outside of the Spiritomb's mind. "How did it go?" he called to her.

Sela shrugged. She knew something happened, but she wasn't sure if the effect was one they wanted. She'd have to keep trying to get to it, but first she had to indulge it in battle, and that would involve bypassing the storm...

Sela stood, deep in thought as to how to beat the storm. Suddenly, Siless called to her, "Try a Rain Dance!"

The Gardevoir had no clue what he was thinking, but she started turning in an attempt to make storm clouds appear.

"When you're ready, hit it with Swagger!"

Sela understood now. Both of these attacks would be attempts to distract the Spiritomb from its storm; the pair thought it would be almost impossible to control it with distractions from the rain and the rage of Swagger.

"We fight together, Spiritomb. Would you like this strength?"

Typically, Gardevoir and their pre-evolutions have a different usage of Swagger than other Pokémon due to their projection of emotions and empathy. Instead of trying to intimidate the opponent into rage, they simply built up the rage inside their horn and projected it at the enemy.

Sela, still twirling in an attempt to call forth clouds, started to focus some of her energies into her horn as well. The storms could come at any moment without the plan messing up, but the Swagger needed to be timed so that the rage got through the storm.

Sela also needed to be ready to Protect at any moment; the Spiritomb's attack could be launched too soon, or the loss of concentration could make it lose control.. The Gardevoir motioned for its Trainer and the Ranger to get behind some nearby bushes, as things could get a little crazy in the battle.
