    OOC: Uhhhh maybe catching it would be a good idea? :p You have the MCR for it

    "Swampert," Isaac commanded, "use rest!"

    Swampert returned a head and slowly closed her eyes and drifted into dreamland. She definitely needed a rest and sleep would suit her well; she was already looking better from what I could see.

    Diglett's eyes struggled to come open, but the sweetness of sleep was too constricting on her mind. Her eyes quickly shut again. Watching both of these Pokemon sleep was kinda funny; I chuckled a little bit as I watched the two just sitting there lazily fast asleep.

    OOC: Oh wow, I didn't notice lol. SOON MY FRIEND. SOON.

    Now, Swampert was asleep. Her health had been replenished as she had fallen asleep, and since this journey through Mt. Deckbi was sure to take quite a while, I figured that would be very beneficial in the long term.

    However, I didn't feel comfortable with Swampert being asleep. Of course, I had planned for this method of health recovery when I entered the Park. That meant I had a solution.

    "Let's go, Dragonite! Use Heal Bell!" I called, tossing Dragonite's Pokeball into the battlefield as I returned Swampert to her own.

    My orange Dragon-type Pokemon appeared, and roared loudly. Her horn started glowing white as the Heal Bell commenced, and the faint ring of a bell was audible. It was a very soothing sound, and I knew the move was able to relieve the Pokemon on my team of any status ailments - such as the case with Swampert. I waited for Dragonite to complete her move as I kept an eye on the snoozing Diglett. Hopefully, Diglett would remain asleep - I planned to capture the Pokemon after Dragonite's Heal Bell ended and that would be much easier if Diglett was asleep.

    OOC: Like with Lampent, you're really pushing it. -_-
    ------------------------------------------

    BP-7

    Swampert just hunched over like a tree bent from a hurricane. Fortunately, Isaac had another idea. He quickly retracted Swampert into his Pokeball as he released his other fateful partner. The orange skin appeared when the white light faded from the Pokeball. Dragonite flapped her wings and gave a great shout as she re-entered the battlefield.

    "Let's go, Dragonite! Use Heal Bell!" Isaac ordered during the switch.

    Dragonite closed her eyes as her horn began shimmering with a white light. As the glowing peaked in brightness, a soothing bell sounded throughout the mountain. It was a rather sweet echo that caused the Pokeball on Isaac's belt to flash white. No doubt the Heal Bell worked and Swampert would be fully alert during her next endeavor.

    Diglett tried to muster her energy again, but it was ultimately worthless; she was still dead asleep. However, she made much more progress than the previous times. This time, she managed to perk her head up to the point of keeping her spine straight…before falling asleep again. I was curious to see how Isaac would react to this.

    OOC: Why does it make a difference if I make the battle a little longer than it needs to be? :x You get more battle posts (which, though I'm unsure, leads to more wages for you) while I get to do things I clearly want to do, such as letting Swampert heal up as is the case here. At any rate, I was planning to catch Diglett now anyways. However, I'm planning to do this as needed during this park run. It was something I planned from the beginning as since I only have two Pokemon, I wanted two that had a reliable method of self-recovery.

    Dragonite's Heal Bell concluded. I knew Swampert would not only be awake, but fully healed as well during the next battle.

    "Great job, Dragonite!" I smiled. The healing of Swampert was my goal from the beginning. At first, that had been my only goal. However, at some point during the battle, I had decided that I wanted to give Diglett a try - the speedy Dugtrio, with its Arena Trap ability, was sure to be a nice addition to my team. Now, I would try to catch the Diglett.

    I noticed Diglett perked up for a bit momentarily. She seemed to be stirring... I may be pushing it a bit. No matter. I was going to end this right now, anyways.

    I plucked an empty Park Ball off of my belt.

    "You're mine, Diglett!" I yelled, thowing the Park Ball at the sleeping Ground-type Pokemon.

    OOC: I said that you were pushing it because you're running out of time to keep the conditions as favorable as you want them. If you had taken much longer, I would have had to wake it up. I know it's more battle posts but my point was that if you expect everything to stay in your favor, you have to take the opportunity. Taking longer was not the problem. I shouldn't have said that though; your rate was only 48%. You still got it though XD
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    NBP-1

    Isaac looked like he would cash in on the opportunity.

    "You're mine, Diglett!" he shouted as he quickly unclipped a park ball from his belt and threw it. Diglett only sat there like a sitting duck; the sleep reduced the chance of missing to nothing. With a flash of red, Diglett was taken inside; would the ball hold? It wriggled once, staying intact. It wobbled again, still nothing. On the third time, it started to break open; but the shaking and the pressure suddenly stopped. The ball had locked and Diglett was now caught. I applauded Isaac as I stepped of the rock I was standing on and back onto the messy ground. I picked the Pokeball up and stashed it away into my backpack to join Lampent.

    "Nice work. You have a Diglett now," I said.

    OOC: I see. Quite frankly, though, the only reason I put Diglett to sleep in the first place was so that I could safely heal Swampert lol. Capturing Diglett while it was asleep was an added bonus.

    The Park Ball enveloped the sleeping Diglett. Since she was asleep, there was just about no chance of me missing. I just had to throw the Park Ball without messing up.

    The Park Ball landed on the ground. It shook once lightly, then shook a second time. On the third shake, it almost burst open. However, the Park Ball managed to contain the Diglett, and the Pokemon was now mine.

    I smiled.

    "Nice work. You now have a Diglett," Bill said. He grabbed the Park Ball with Diglett in it, and put it in his backpack in the same pouch that contained my Lampent.

    "Thanks," I said happily, "Shall we continue?"

    "Thanks," Isaac responded. "Shall we continue?"

    "Of course," I responded. I slung the backpack onto my back again and stood to my feet. We began traversing the mountain trail that led upward trying not trip over the displaced dirt that Diglett left. Isaac's going to have a really tough time tending to his front lawn if he is going to have Diglett running around.

    The trail seemed to even out as we climbed to the top of the ramp. The road was a bit wider as well. Suddenly, I heard a faint bark in the distance as a orange-ish figured dashed toward us. When it came into the close proximity of us, it stopped in front of me with its front paws and barked twice. I knew this Pokemon very well. Its black striped adorned its orange skin as its tan mane flowed in the wind. I knelt down to pet its head.

    "This Growlithe wants a trainer. You want to battle it?" I asked Isaac.

    OOC: No problem.

    "Of course," Bill said matter-of-factly, and motioned for me to follow him as he sidestepped the trails left by the Diglett I had just captured.

    We continued trekking up the path, making our way towards the mountain. I noticed the air getting steamier, and the temperature getting warmer. I wiped the sweat on my brow with my sleeve.

    I heard a growl. Bill seemed to hear it as well, as he abruptly halted in front of me.

    I was about to ask what that growl had been when the answer revealed itself. An orange dog was dashing at us madly, and Bill's eyes narrowed - he clearly recognized the Pokemon. There were black stripes on its body, and light brown tufts oh hair. As the Pokemon stopped in front of us, I realized it must have been a...

    "This Growlithe wants a trainer. You want to battle it?" Isaac asked me.

    A Growlithe. I had, up until very recently, wanted a Growlithe. As an Arcanine, it would be a welcome addition to my team. Arcanine were very well-rounded Pokemon, with respectable offensive stats, bulk, and speed. Not only that, but the Flash Fire trait could make it a very convenient Pokemon to have, allowing me to collect a Flash Fire boost to strengthen its already powerful Flare Blitz. However, I had recently applied for the Lavaridge Gym, and when I had done so, I had done some research to see which Fire-types were worthy. I certainly considered Arcanine a Pokemon worthwhile of the 12 roster slots available, but I had realized it was also not quite as good as I had believed.

    Grudgingly, I decided to pass on the Fire-type puppy. This run had already taken up a lot of my time, and I believed that I would be able to find other Pokemon later on that I would want to try for. The only appeal in Growlithe was adding it to my Lavaridge application, but that wasn't enough appeal for me to waste even more time with the Pokemon. Besides, I wasn't even sure if I wanted to have a full 12-Pokemon lineup. If I decided against it, acquiring Growlithe was only a waste of multiple resources. I wouldn't even get the benefit of adding Growlithe and Arcanine to my PokeDex, as I already had them.

    "Let's try and escape," I said to Bill.

    OOC: The treat was free of charge XD. I just used it for RP purposes. You did escape
    -------------------------------

    NBP-3

    "Let's try and escape," Isaac requested.

    Growlithe stood up on his hind legs and put his front paws on me. He was rather playful today. Quickly, I reached into my pocket and pulled a treat. I taunted Growlithe for a second so that he spun around in circles in anticipation. With a swing of my arm, I chucked it further down the mountain path. He quickly dashed after it and started nibbling on it when he caught it.

    "Well, that was fun. Let's keep moving," I said.

    We continued up the ramp along the east side of the mountain when something caught the corner of my eye. An orange figure was floating off the edge of the cliff a little ways off into the distance. I pulled up my binoculars to spot a human-shape Pokemon hovering in mid-air. His orange skin was covered in purple spots; a bulky tail swayed in front of him; a cloud concealed his feat. He didn't notice us walking even though he had his eyes open. The genie-like Pokemon was in a deep meditation trance. No doubt he did this to calm his mind.

    "Now there's something you don't see everyday," I told Isaac.

    As I told Bill I had no interest in Growlithe, the Pokemon immediately leapt on the Ranger's front legs. I immediately tensed, but it seemed Growlithe had no malicious intent. Instead, the puppy was playfully nipping Bill's arms. Bill laughed, and dangled a treat over Growlithe. He threw it down the path, and we watched the energetic Growlithe dash after it.

    "Well, that was fun. Let's keep moving," Bill said.

    I nodded, and we continued our trek up the mountain. About ten minutes later, Bill stopped. He turned his head to the right, and whipped out a pair of binoculars.

    "Now that's something you don't see every day," Bill remarked.

    "What?" I immediately asked. A remark like that would obviously pique my interest.

    Bill handed me his binoculars, and I took a look. There, levitating on the edge of a cliff, was a Pokemon I had never seen before. It was orange, and resembled a genie. It was marked with purple spots, and was partly covered in a cloud that enveloped it much like a toga. The Pokemon was hovering and seemed to be meditating. The calm look on its face was almost contagious - I could feel myself getting more relaxed just by looking at it.

    Bitterly, I wish I had bought a Camera back at the Registration Office. I would definitely have taken a picture of this incredible creature to take home.

    OOC: I am exceedingly sorry about the long wait time. Luckily, all these midterms are starting to fade out so I might have some more time for this
    --------------------------------

    NBP-4

    Isaac quickly took the binoculars I offered, and took a long gaze at the meditating genie-like Pokemon. In all my runs at the national park, there have only been about 2 legendaries that I've seen in total. I saw Isaac look down slightly in a moment of disappointment. I could tell from the look on his face that he forgot his camera. I always advise my trainers to bring one with them; it's definitely a must-have.

    The sloping path finally flattened a little as we had reached a small mesa in the side of the mountain. I was glad to see the path even out; I rubbed my legs in slight discomfort from the aches. I stopped to catch my breath for a second before a pile of dirt made a slight hill in front of us. I saw a snout that was golden brown and lined with black stripes stick up from the mound and struggle its way to the surface. Suddenly, a similarly patterned gator-like body burst up with it…well except for its slightly pink underside. The ground-type crossed its arms in front of us as if it were at a fight club.

    "Krokorok's up for a battle. You in?" I asked Isaac.

    OOC: No worries bro. I'm a Ranger now, so I can do that while I'm waiting.

    Since I did not have my Camera, we decided to move on and allow the Landorus to continue meditating in peace. Very soon, we arrived at a mesa where the ground flattened out. We both paused and drank some water from our water bottles - the hike up had been exhausting.

    Bill looked up. I followed his gaze. To my surprise, a small pile of dirt was lying in front of us. Was this another Diglett?

    No. A brown snout poked out of the earth, and a small brown-and-black crocodile crawled out of the earth. This was Krokorok.

    "Krokorok's up for a battle. You in?" Bill asked.

    "No thanks," I responded. Krokorok had no appeal to me whatsoever. I did, however, offer the Pokemon a drink from my water bottle. I had the bottle slightly tipped, ready to pour water into the Pokemon's jaws. Only after I had my bottle ready to pour did it occur to me that Krokorok may not respond to this action kindly, as a wild Pokemon. Well, it was too late now. If it wanted a drink, all's well that ends well. If not, well, it wouldn't be too much of a bother to battle.

    "No thanks," Isaac replied. He then took a step forward with his water bottle he was drinking from in his hands. Inching toward Krokorok, he extended the water bottle to offer the ground-type a drink. He did start to crack a small grin before his face hardened again as he took a swipe at Isaac's hand. It was easy to detect though as Isaac hopped back away from it. He then crossed his arms; clearly only a battle would satisfy.

    "How rude," I commented. "Well, he's clearly out for blood. I can get him off us with a Pokedoll if you wish."

    As I held my water bottle over the wild Krokorok's jaw, it snapped at my wrist. I withdrew my hand immediately, a vein pulsing in my ear.

    "How rude," Web commented. "Well, he's clearly out for blood. I can get him off us with a Pokedoll if you wish."

    "Nah," I declined, tossing a Pokeball. "I can just take him out quickly."

    My Swampert appeared, roaring loudly. The blue Water/Ground-type Pokemon was ready to battle, fully recovered during the battle with Diglett.

    "Let's start the battle off with Ice Punch, Swampert!" I commanded.

    The Ice Punch move should do a lot of damage to Krokorok right off the bat - or at least I hoped so. It was super-effective on the Ground-type Krokorok, and coming from a Pokemon with a behemoth Attack stat such as Swampert, it would be very strong.

    Swampert began to commence the attack. Shards of ice grew around her fist, and she began to charge the Krokorok.

    OOC: Pokemon gender? Also, want me to mention you in each post?

    ~~~~~
    Broadblade wheeled over Deckbi, high in the sky. Despite hating the heat, I was glad there was no cloud cover - it would make finding Bill and his Trainer much easier. I had been sent to relieve him - his vacation request had been approved, but if he was to catch a ferry today he'd need to go and pack right now. I had been busy playing Killing Floor, but Ivy had yelled at me to get off my ass for once.
    Finally, I caught sight of a large blue Pokemon, most probably a Water type. Something that definitely did not belong in this area of the National Park.
    "Alright, they're down there," I said to the Staraptor, pointing to the anomalous Pokemon.
    He screeched and banked before dropping into a dive. It took only about half a minute for us to reach the ground. Broadblade opened his wings sharply, bringing us to a halt. I dismounted from the bird and patted his side before he returned himself to his ball. I had been right about the Water-type - it was a Swampert, and it was running towards a Krokorok, its fist surrounded in ice. As the Swampert proceeded to punch the Dark-type repeatedly, I walked up to Bill and explained the situation to him quietly. He nodded and jogged over a nearby hill before disappearing. I looked over at my new Trainer, considering introducing myself, but I decided to wait until the battle was over.
    The Krokorok obviously didn't like those Ice Punches, and after a few of them it retaliated. The Desert Croc Pokemon dodged a punch and grabbed a hold of Swampert's arm and threw the large Pokemon over its shoulder in an impressive display of strength. The Water-type flew for a couple seconds before landing on the ground, sending a dustcloud spiraling up into the air.
    OOC: Yeah, go ahead and mention me. Female
    Swampert slammed her fist into Krokorok. Shards of ice flew off upon impact, and Krokorok paled immediately.
    "Krok!" the Pokemon screeched, clearly not a fan of the move. It made sense - Ground-types such as Krokorok were weak to Ice-type moves.
    "Keep at it, Swampert!" I called to my Pokemon. Swampert nodded, and continued tossing her fist at Krokorok. Krokorok seemed to be a bulky Pokemon defensively, but the more Ice Punches Swampert could land, the better. Not only that, but there was a chance of a Freeze occurring as well.
    However, Krokorok was quick to adapt to this strategy. A few Ice Punches landed as glancing blows, and then Krokorok started dodging them. After a wild swing by Swampert, Krokorok took advantage. The Pokemon snaked her tail around Swampert's arm, and deftly yanked my Pokemon to the ground. This move was Counter - a move that allowed the user to capitalize on any mistake made during the execution of a Physical attack.
    "Krokorok," she crowed snidely.
    "Swampert, are you alright?" I called. My Pokemon slowly returned to her feet. She was a little battered from the move, but seemed alright for the most part.
    I knew Physical moves were too much of a risk to continue using. Krokorok would be looking for them, eager to use Counter again after such a successful result the first time. Not only that, but it had seemed Ice Punch had done less damage than I had hoped originally. I could come back to Physical attacks later, but it was definitely more intelligent to use Special attacks for now. Thankfully, Swampert boasted a wide selection of such attacks, including some STAB-boosted Water-type options that would be super-effective on Krokorok.
    "Come on Swampert, let's take this thing out as quickly as we can! Use Hydro Pump!" I commanded.
    Hydro Pump was a much more of a risk-versus-reward option than a move that was usually considered to be an alternative option to it in Surf. Surf did less damage, but was a much more accurate move. Hydro Pump exchanged a bit of accuracy in exchange for power. However, I was not interested in hanging around too long. This run was beginning to get lengthy, and I doubted we were even halfway through. Some of my battles against other Pokemon had taken too long - I needed to make up for lost time.
    Swampert took a deep breath in, preparing the move. Then, she fired a rapidly spinning jet of water at Krokorok. The jet wildly tore through the air as it was launched at Krokorok. Very quickly, it was in between my line of sight with Krokorok. I waited for the move to finish, and hoped for the best.
    "Swampert, are you alright?" the Trainer called out, concerned.
    Swampert slowly got to her feet and nodded, turning around to face the Krokorok. Clearly the young man hadn't considered Counter as a possibility, and he was changing his battle plan. You had to be adaptive if you wanted to succeed here in the National Park.
    "Come on Swampert, let's take this thing out as quickly as we can! Use Hydro Pump!" he yelled.
    Swampert raised her head and took in a deep breath. She then launched a huge torrent of water towards the Krokorok. The Hydro Pump twisted through the air, looking for a second like it might miss, but the Water-type's aim was true. The water crashed into the Krokorok and sent it flying backwards. The Desert Croc Pokemon landed in a heap ten metres away from where it had been hit. It got back up on its feet and made some strange sniffing and grunting noises. I was about to check it with my medical scanner when I saw it spit a huge lump of purple liquid into its hand. It grimaced and then threw the goop towards Swampert. The attack's distinctive purple smoke revealed its name - Sludge Bomb.
    Swampert's Hydro Pump crashed into Krokorok. The stream of water knocked Krokorok back a few meters, and the Pokemon was thrown upside-down.
    "Krokorok," the Pokemon sniffed in distaste, rolling over on to her stomach. Hydro Pump had been good for a nice amount of damage, but the Pokemon still had some willpower left. She gargled up something in her throat, and spat out a large ball of goop into her hand. She threw it at Swampert, and I had no difficulty recognizing this move as Sludge Bomb.
    "Swampert, watch out for the Sludge Bomb!" I called. Sludge Bomb was one of the strongest Poison-type moves around, and it would not help matters if Swampert was struck by it. Thinking quickly, I came up with a counterstrategy.
    "Swampert, use an Ice Beam to freeze the Sludge Bomb, and then use Rock Smash on the frozen Sludge Bomb," I commanded.
    The idea here was that Ice Beam would glaciate the Sludge Bomb, forming a frozen ball of sludge. Then, Swampert could break that ball with Rock Smash. Granted, the move was usually used to break rocks, but it would work just fine, if not better, with a ball of frozen sludge. By smashing the ball, frozen shards of sludge would be thrown at Krokorok. The ice would capitalize on Krokorok's weakness to the Ice-type and soften it up, and then the actual sludge would do a fair bit of damage as well. There was a small chance for Krokorok to end up either poisoned or frozen as well.
    Swampert did as I commanded. She quickly fired a beam of ice at the Sludge Bomb, focusing more on compacting ice into a smaller beam than worrying about power. By compacting the ice, it would cause the temperature to drop more. The smaller Ice Beam would reduce the attack's power, but that was a good thing in this case - it would reduce the chances of the Ice Beam piercing through the Sludge Bomb by accident. Instead, the colder Ice Beam would have a better chance of freezing its target. Well, that was the idea anyways.
    "Swampert, watch out for the Sludge Bomb!" the young man called.
    "Use an Ice Beam to freeze the Sludge Bomb, and then use Rock Smash on the frozen Sludge Bomb."
    The Water-type immediately spat a very thin beam of ice towards the incoming projectile. The light blue energy splayed around the Sludge Bomb for a few second, slowly turning it light blue as well. Swampert also pulled her hand back, and it was starting to glow pure white. At the very last second before impact, the Pokemon stopped firing the Ice Beam and punched the now-frozen Sludge Bomb. There was a violent hissing sound amidst the sudden crack. Ice shards blasted towards the Krokorok, striking it like machine-gun fire, but some of the Sludge Bomb had stuck onto Swampert's fist, and it was hissing evilly on her knuckles. She grunted unhappily but ignored the pain.
    The Krokorok growled and began to run towards its opponent. It shoulder-tackled the Swampert in a valiant yet mostly-ineffective attack. It snapped its jaws unhappily at Swampert but backed up warily, staying out of range of a physical attack. It was becoming clear to the Dark-type that it was horrendously outclassed, so it would have to think of a good plan to keep its footing. This was when Wild Pokemon was the most dangerous - when they were starting to lose, but still had the energy to pull off a win.
    Swampert smashed the frozen ball of sludge. I could see a bit of sludge hissing on her arm, and I frowned. I had overlooked that happening. It was a silly mistake.
    Frozen shards of sludge were thrown at Krokorok. They connected for a good bit of damage, and while Krokorok did not appear to be either frozen or poisoned by the attack, I was satisfied with the end result. I saw potential to end the battle here.
    Before I could order Swampert to land the finishing blow, Krokorok growled and immediately went on the offensive, throwing a wrench in my plans. The Land Snake Pokemon tackled Swampert. It seemed to me that this was not an ordinary Tackle, but a Return move. I doubted it would do much to Swampert, as Return was a move that worked best when commanded by a Trainer that the Pokemon holds a strong bond of friendship with. A Wild Pokemon using the move would result in a weaker Return.
    I looked at Swampert. She seemed to be alright, for the most part. The Return had seemed to do very little to her as I had expected. As a matter of fact, I could see it helping me.
    "Alright, Swampert. Let's end the battle now. Use Avalanche!" I commanded.
    Avalanche was a move that doubled in strength if used moments after the user had taken a hit. That would make it my best option - all because Krokorok had landed a hit. If that had not been the case, then I would probably have used Hydro Pump, a move that was far less accurate. Granted, Avalanche did not receive the STAB bonus that Hydro Pump did, but it was strong enough to do the trick.
    Swampert slammed her fists into the ground, creating rubble. She froze the ground, generating ice from her fists in a similar fashion to what she did when she used Ice Punch. When a small area of ground was completely frozen, Swampert heaved her arms out of the ground, tossing the frozen rubble at Krokorok. I figured that the move ought to be enough to take out Krokorok. Even if it wasn't, I would only need one more move to end the battle.
