"Nah, I think I'm good without it. Let's just continue on our way, and try and find something else even better, shall we? I really don't wanna get into another fight as hard as the Kingler one. Let's just let it work out in peace, and try and find a honey tree or an even better Pokemon," Master said to me.

"Sounds like a good idea," I replied. Golduck had a reputation for being showoffs, and I didn't want to stick around to watch it work out.

Master found some stepping stones, so we carefully moved across them, trying to be quiet. Unfortunately, the delicate task was too much for Chomp. He slipped, and made a huge splash as he entered the stream. Immediately, the Golduck looked up and began running over to us after dropping the large rock.

"If you wanna buy a Poke Doll, you better make it quick," I muttered to my Trainer, looking at the incoming Golduck with apprehension.

"Great. Another 500 from my 12,150 down the drain to get a pokedoll to escape a silly little angry pokemon. Here you go, now let's just toss it and get out of this place. That thing is getting on my nerves here," I told Chainy as I handed him the money.

Master handed me the $500, and I tossed a Poke Doll at the incoming Golduck. By pure chance, this one was a Psyduck. The Golduck rolled and caught it before it could hit the ground. It then turned back and returned to lifting its stone. I shook my head. Pokemon could be weird sometimes.

We crossed the river and went into the cluster of trees. Right in the middle of the ten or so trees was a yellow one that smelled sweet. I recognised it immediately as a Honey tree, one of the rare trees that my Trainer had been hoping to stumble across.

"This here is a Honey tree," I said to Master, indicating it with a wave of my hand. "If you want, you can slap some honey on it - you'll have a greater chance of coming across some extra Pokemon if you do."

"Sweet, finally. Let's do this," I said as I pulled out the honey, tossed off the lid, and slathered that rich, golden...stuff...all over the golden tree. "Now, let's see what mons come running up at me to get some of this stuff."

Master smeared the golden honey all over the tree. Almost immediately, I could smell its sweet fragrance wafting through the trees.

"Alright, let's move on," I said. I led Master through the trees, and was immediately surprised. There was a moderate-sized lake here. I shrugged, and we sat down to see what would stumble along.

We didn't have to wait long. A Horsea emerged from the depths, its nose/mouth twitching, trying to follow the scent except it couldn't leave the water. I was about to remark how this would be an easy battle, except suddenly a Kabutops stumped out of the water as well. If Master wanted to try and catch the Horsea, he'd have to battle the Kabutops at the same time.

"Sweet, a Horsea. I think I want that most of all. But, we have to get rid of that Kabutops, first. So, to make things interesting, let's try out..." I paused, considering my options of attack, trying to figure out what was the best choices for this situation. Then, it came loud and clear to me. I grabbed one of the Pokeballs I had used earlier, and tossed it in the air. It burst open with its bright white light as I yelled out who I was sending. "FLYGON AND GARCHOMP!" Those two were both Ground types, meaning that they could do some serious damage to the Kabutops. They did have a few scratches on them from their previous encounters, but I had a potion or two ready to heal them.

"Alright guys, I have a plan. We want to take out the Kabutops without injuring the horsea too much. Now, I need you both to use an Earthquake! First, I need Garchomp to go, and shake things up a bit! Then I need you to jump in the water and surf around a little. Once he's out a good distance, Flygon, I want you to use your Earthquake too so that he won't be hurt as much. That should take the Kabutops down a bit, helping this fight considerably." I had seen a tactic like this on TV once. It was a show based on the Park, and they had been in the Lakes this particular episode, when they ran into a double battle. They had sent out two mons that could use Earthquake, and one of them was above the ground, while the other could surf on the Sea. The one that could surf used an Earthquake first. The shockwave injured both mons, but the one on land took much more damage that the one in the sea, given that it really only felt the water shake beneath it. Once that was done, they had had the surfing one jump in the water and swim out a little. Once it was out, the Flying one caused an Earthquake of its own. The pokemon on land had taken severe damage from the two attacks, while the one in the sea had taken a very minimal amount. Now I just needed my guys to do the same.

Garchomp listened to my orders well, and stomped its massive fott onto the ground with all of its strength. The shockwave sent me unbalancing and me me fall down on my back, since I couldn't withstand the pure power of such a devastating attack. I was sure that the Kabutops would be hurt eseverly as well, and would be hurt even more when Flygon took its turn to attack.

Master gave a complicated set of instructions to his Pokemon, and as soon as he was finished Chomp began running towards the lake. The Kabutops wasn't going to have any of that, though - he mirrored the Garchomp, moving into the lake as well.

When Chomp was ready, he roared. Flyg returned the signal, and both crashed down - Fly into the ground, and Chomp into the water. Fly's had much more effect - Chomp's was not much more than a water attack. Nonetheless, both attacks both roared towards the Wild Pokemon and knocked them around in the water.

The Kabutops hissed loudly - it didn't enjoy being smacked around by these Dragon types. It looked at the Horsea, and the Horsea returned the look. They went back to back, and both took a deep breath. The Kabutops exhaled bright blue air that moved quickly towards Chomp. The Horsea spat a stream of black sludge towards Fly. Upon hitting the ground in front of Fly, the black sludge exploded into gray mist, ruining Fly's eyesight.

"Alright Chomp! I want you to dive beneath the surface of the water to avoid the Icy Wind! Once it passes over, I want you to Jump back out of the water on a wave, and crash it into those pokemon! Flygon! As soon as Chomp goes under the water, right before he comes up again, I want you to use an Earthquake on the Kabutops and Horsea! The attack should shake them both up quite a bit! Then, once Chomp comes back up and brings his wave, I want you to go up in the sky, fly up as high as you can, fly way up above the wave so you don't get hurt. And please don't come down unless you have to do so, old buddy," I said to Flygon, meaning every word. I loved all my pokemon, and it would be a terrible tragedy if any of them were hurt badly.

Following his Trainer's orders, Chomp dived underwater, and waited for the slow-moving blue air to pass over him. While he was doing this, Fly set off another Earthquake. Unfortunately, due to the Smokescreen the Horsea had set up, the main power behind the attack missed both the Horsea and the Kabutops, instead shooting off to the left.

Chomp was running out of breath when the barely-visible Icy Wind attack passed over him. He grinned a grin of predatory intent, and shot upwards, swifty breaking through the water. Where he was promptly nailed by the Kabutops' follow up Icy Wind. The blue air coiled around his back and fins, turning into icicles. Chomp looked at them, annoyed. They might slow him down a bit, but at least they didn't hurt much. He roared, and Flygon flew high in the sky, way up above us over the tops of the trees.

When Chomp's massive roar ended, the waves behind him grew larger. He rose up on top of a high one and led it towards the Kabutops and the Horsea. As he got closer, the Horsea spat a blue cylindrical blast at him, but that didn't hurt much either. He rode the wave right over the top of them, arriving safely on the beach, ready for his next command. Meanwhile, the Horsea wasn't happy with it's latest attack, so it started performing a war dance. Unfortunately, the dance was more adorable than threatening.

"Alright. I have a plan, but I can't hit the horsea too much, since its getting weaker. And, I need a better chance of capture than this. So, I think I need to paralyze it. But how can I do that without switching and risking something taking some good damage?" I spoke to myself. I needed to do something to weaken the Horsea and paralyze it at the same time. That would allow me do go in for the capture with less trouble. I pondered this for a minute, then came up with a solution. "Flygon! I need you to hit the Horsea from where you are with a dragonbreath attack! And I need you to do some good damage while you're at it! I need you to blast it down, injuring the Horsea a little, and hopefully paralyzing it! I need you to shake off that silly little smoke and show that Horsea who really is the better pokemon! If you can paralyze it, we're golden!" I finished yelling as I looked over to Chomp to give him his own orders. "Chomp. You're really powerful, buddy. And I need you to show that off a little. I need you to use an Earthquake. I need you to use one with power to split the ground in a single blow. I want you to be able to split the land and the sea and the entire planet with a single blow. And I know you can. Focus all of your rage, your sheer might, into a stomp, a stomp powerful enough to send the Kabutops flying high into the sky. I need you to aim it at the Kabutops, the one who has caused you much of your pain and suffering. Shake it off for a minute and send your own blast of Earthquake power straight at the Kabutops. I know you can take it down, good buddy."

After Master's inspiring speech, Chomp began charging his energy. He was starting to tire of the massive attacks his Trainer was asking of him, but he was good for one more blast.

Meanwhile, Flygon started diving down to prepare for the bombing run. The streaming wind was helping him clear his eyes, so he wasn't going to miss. He strafed the Horsea multiple times, breathing blue fire at it in swatches. The Horsea trilled in discomfort - the fire didn't hurt that much thanks to the water, but it was still painful. It began returning fire with small jets of water - most missed but a few hit. After one last blue fireball, Fly jinked to the left, intending to peel away and back up Chomp.

The Kabutops had other plans, though. It smashed both of its claws into the Dragon Pokemon, shoving it into the lake and doing a fair bit of damage. At the same time, Chomp looked up. He couldn't see Fly anywhere, so he assumed he was safe in the sky. He let loose an Earthquake that made a huge crater in the sand in front of him. Like last time, the attack lost a lot of its power when it transferred to the water, but it was a mighty attack nonetheless, knocking around all of the other three Pokemon. Chomp collapsed to his front claws, panting.

"NO! FLYGON!" I yelled, scared that my buddy, my first pokemon, was gone. I needed to get him back. And I needed to get him back now. I had to figure out some way to get him back, even though there was no way he could hear me. I had to call him back. But first, I wanted to give the Kabutops a little present. "Garchomp! I want you to give that Kabutops a nice surprise! I want you to Dig a hole for yourself, then pop out of the ground underneath Kabutops and attack it. Hard. Use dig on it, maximum power!" Garchomp immediately went to work, hopping up and clawing at the ground, building a tunnel for itself. Once the tunnel was wide enough, it jumped it, and clawed the dirt away as it dug farther down. Its hooked claws were ideal for digging, as they helped it pull any dirt or rocks out of the way, like a shovel. Now, it was time to get Flygon out of its situation.

I pulled out the pokeball that belonged to Flygon, held it at arms length, and pressed the button. I waited to see if the commonly seen red laser would shoot out of the tip, jump in the water, and pull Flygon back inside the safety of its pokeball. The pokeballs had a built in tracking system for calling the pokemon that they had caught back inside if they were within a certain distance. I just needed Flygon to be in that distance. In case he was, I held in my other hand the pokeball that belonged to Zappy. As soon as Flygon returned to its pokeball, I would send Zappy in, and have her paralyze the Horsea as well as help finish off the Kabutops, making everything all the much easier for the capture. I just needed Flygon to be within the pokeball's range.

"Garchomp! I want you to give that Kabutops a nice surprise! I want you to Dig a hole for yourself, then pop out of the ground underneath Kabutops and attack it. Hard. Use dig on it, maximum power!" Master screamed as he held out Fly's Poke Ball. Nothing happened for a couple seconds, but then a red laser lanced out and into the water, returning with a red blob I knew was Fly. As soon as the Poke Ball snapped shut, Master released Zappy into the battle. She barked excitedly, all rested up from her battle with Kingler.

Meanwhile, the Garchomp had dug under the lake to where he thought the Kabutops was. He broke the top of his tunnel, and water started pouring into it. He quickly took a breath and moved into the lake. Luckily, Kabutops was in the water just above him, and it hadn't seen him yet. Chomp smashed into him, pushing him up and out of the water, onto dry land. The Kabutops Screeched at Chomp, outraged and tired.

Suddenly, from behind, the Horsea launched a headbutt at the large Garchomp. The headbutt contained all it's anger. It had smelt some sweet honey, and when it came to investigate it got attacked for no reason at all. It squealed a battle cry, and Chomp turned to see what was going on. Unluckily for Chomp, the Horsea's attack hit him right in the throat. Chomp choked a little bit, and backed away onto land, opposite the heavily wounded Kabutops.

"Alright Zappy, I wanna see you glow bright yellow, then release a powerful Thunder wave straight at the Horsea. Just Paralyze it, then you are golden. Now, Chomp. I can see that you're pretty weak and only getting weaker. But don't worry. You only have a little less to do. I need you to send one last attack at that Kabutops, to Ko it. I need you to use a Sand Tomb attack on it. Just sweep up the sand, and send that at the Kabutops. It should trapped inside, making the sand tomb be its literal tomb. That power should be enough to finish it off. Just, please be careful Chomp. Keep your eyes on that Horsea, and if it tries something, I want you to just Tackle it away and focus on getting rid of Kabutops. If we can get rid of Kabutops and Paralyze Horsea in the same turn, then we will have nothing to worry about when we go in for the capture," I said to Garchomp and Zappy, as they both jumped into action, Zappy raising up her fur and charging it with yellow electricity to send at the Horsea and Paralyze it, and Garchomp starting to move its hands around and around, making the sand rise up to swallow up the Kabutops and send it into a knock out.

Zappy started growling in a low pitch, and sparks began being shed from her fur. When the Thunder Wave was ready, she barked. A huge concussive wave of electricity moved out like a shotgun blast into the water. The Horsea tried to dive under the attack, but the water conducted the electricity and it hit the Water Pokemon easily. The Horsea floated to the surface of the lake, spasming slightly.

Meanwhile, Chomp was waving his front claws around in circles, and sand was rising up at his command. The Kabutops was doing the same thing - his scythes were rotating in the air, and water was floating up out of the lake and surrounding him. When the Kabutops was fully covered and the Garchomp had raised his body weight in sand, he pushed his claws forward and roared. At the exact same time, the Kabutops shot towards the Garchomp, still covered by water. The Aqua Jet sliced through the Sand Tomb attack, scattering the sand to both sides. The Kabutops then rocketed into Chomp, knocking him over.

Chomp growled angrily, and looked over at the Kabutops. He tried to get up, never breaking eye contact. He got to his knees, but then fell on his face. I quickly looked at Garchomp through my Aura Reader - there was some bruising and a small internal bleed, but he'd be fine as long as he was returned to his Poke Ball ASAP. Poke Balls had inbuilt mechanisms that slowed time internally, so that if a Pokemon was injured it wouldn't succumb to its wounds while the Trainer was getting to a Pokemon Center.

"You should probably return Chomp to his Ball," I said to Master. "He's alright, but he's very tired from all the battling he's done. You should also probably send out another Pokemon to back Zappy up."

"Alright Garchomp, you did awesome. Now get on back here," I said as I shot the red laser at him from his pokeball ad watched as his blob returned. "Now, for my only mon to not have a little action. Come on, show us your stuff! GO, INFERNAPE!" I yelled as tossed the pokeball in the air, and my monkey with a flaming head popped out in a white flash of light. "Alright Infernape, time to show these guys what you're made of. I need you to use a Mach Punch on Kabutops, with your maximum power." Infernape quickly assumed a martial arts pose, standin sideways while facing the Kabutops, one hand straight up in front of its face, the other a fist behind its head. It stood on the front of its feet, and hopped around a little, as it stretched its muscles for the speed of the attackit was about to pull off. Then, when it was ready, its fist started to glow white, then it pushed off with its back leg as it swung so that its chest was facing the Kabutops, with its fist extended. All of this happened in the blink of an eye, then it burst off with all of its speed, with eery ounce of strenth in its fist and legs. It became no more than a blur, moving much to fast for my eye to track. And I knew the Kabutops was in for a world of hurt as I turned to Zappy.

"Alriht girl, we gotta hit this thing fast, but ligtly. And you're the only one who can do the job. So, I need you to shoot off one of your powerful mortars. Just one more, to hurt the Horsea a little. I don't need anything too powerful from the attack. Now, just carge up, and send off a Thunershock straight into that Horsea. Once you do tht, you should be able to take a nice nap in your pokeball."

Zappy excitedly barked at the thought of a nice long rest, so she immediately started to charge up a thundershock. She started to glow in a bright, harsh yellow light. Her fur stood on edge, as electricity passed between the strands. When she was too bright to even look at, she fired off a single bolt, that arched through the air on a crash course with the Horsea, ready to take it down just a tiny bit more before it was ready to capture.

Zappy began charging her attack and glowing bright yellow as Monk blurred towards the tired Kabutops. He was so fast I lost track of him, until I spotted him behind the Kabutops. The Kabutops looked behind him in shock, and Monk grinned. He then smashed the Kabutops in the head with a swinging punch. The Kabutops flew into the shallows of the lake. It took a look at the fresh Infernape, and huffed unhappily before moving away and diving under the lake. I knew it wouldn't be coming back.

Meanwhile, the Horsea had regained control of its muscles, and it swum close to the edge of the water. It saw what the Jolteon was doing, and wasn't happy about it. It sent a huge torrent of water from the lake towards Jolteon, but it was tired. The water didn't do much more than splash Zappy, and she launched the Thundershock. It hit the Horsea squarely, and re-triggered the paralysis. The helpless Horsea floated up onto the banks of the river, ripe for a capture.

"Alright Zappy, good job. You too Monk. That was complete perfection. Now, we just need to go in for the capture. Now, let me just pull out my spray bottle. I want no chance of this missing, and I wnt to have no problems trying to catch this thing," I said, pulling out my small green bottle. I pressed the button up top, and sprayed the mist all in front of me. I knew that the scent would attract the Horsea to me even more, making it almost child's play to capture. I then pulled out another sphere. Like the last one, it was red and white. When I pressed the button on the front, which was about half the size of the pokeball, it expanded into the most bland, the most boring, and cheapest pokeball te park sold. Which made it an ideal choice for a situation like this, where the pokemon was extremely weak from battle, and had little to no hope of getting away. I tossed the ball towards the Horsea, who was coming nearer to smell the sweet and soothing scet of my Soothing fragrance super. It was the perfect pokeball for the perfect capture of such a great pokemon. I lobbed the ball right over to the Horsea, ready for a great capture.

Master sprayed a fragrance scent at the Horsea, even though it was so tired it probably didn't need calming down at this point in time. He then gently lobbed the ball underarm at the Water Pokemon. The ball tapped it, and absorbed it in a flash of white light. The ball fell into the shallows and shook a couple times before lying still.

"Congratulations on your most recent capture," I said to Master as I walked over and picked up the ball. I dried it a little on my vest, then stored it in my pack before moving on.

Now that Chomp had fainted, Master couldn't travel over water, so we decided to keep walking around the lake. After ten minutes, I heard a familiar giggling. I turned around and saw the Azurill from before following us. I smiled.

"Awww, looks like the little guy likes you," I said to Master. "Still no interest in catching it?"

"No. I really do not want the thing. And if it tries to follow us again, I'll take a pokedoll again for 500. I still have that amount of cash on me, ad really don't want this thing," I said to chainy, pulling out 500 in case I needed to buy a pokedoll to get away.
