My plan had been executed just as I planned, plus Mindbender had managed to get some health out of it as well. Now we could pass through. I noticed on the snow crystal looking items and figured that each dropped something new. I picked them up and placed them in a small box so they wouldn't break.

"Great job Mindbender, take a good rest." I called out, placing her back in her Pokeball. "Let's go Shadow." I said, walking through the trail I had noticed during the battle. "We're ready for whatever comes out way." Shadow barked loudly, nodding his head.

It wasn't long after we took off that we encountered an interestig opponent. A small Venonat. These Bug Pokemon were particully annoying with their confision attack. "Shadow, get on in there." I said, "Start us off with a nice Flamethrower attack, and whatever you do, watch out for any tricks it may try to pull." Shadow nodded an arched his head back, creating red hot flames in his mouth. He focused on the small Pokemon on the ground, making sure he had a good aim. Then he launched the flamethrower at the Bug Pokemon. ​

Shadow had used the Flamethrower attack perfectly. He had hit the Venonat directly. I didn't want him to do much damage to the little guy, but for him to do just enough. Then, the Venonat pulled out one of its tricks and sent out a small electrical pulse. I wasn't quite sure what it had just used, but it looked familiar. I saw that Shadow hadn't been harmed in any way, which was okay with me.

"Okay, use Flamethrower again boy." I called out. Shadow lifted his head and began creating flames. He then brought his head down and launched the attack, except nothing came out. "What's wrong?" Shadow wimpered a bit, and then it hit me. That attack that the Bug had used was Disable, Shadow could no longer use Flamethrower. "Oh, I get it now. Well, use Hidden Power." Shadow closed his eyes and three small whitish blue orbs appeared around his head. A few seconds later, those three orbs, split into two, then four. Sixteen orbs were rotating around the fire dogs head, spinning faster and faster. The orbs then one by one shot at the Venonat.​

The Venonat had protected itself from the attack. That wasn't really much of a problem since all Shadow had to do was hit it again. The chances of it using Protect again where high, but the chances of it actually suceeding were low. All Shadow had to do was attack it again with his Hidden Power attack.

"Alright buddy, use Double Team and then use Hidden Power again." I called out. Shadow howled into the night sky, which was what he always did before replicating himself. Usually, when he used Double Team, he'd make five copies of himself, more or less would depend on the situation. By using that, his evasion would go up and make him that much more able to land a sucessful hit.

Then, once again, he'd create more light blue orbs that would once again circle his head, multiplying the faster they spun. If his clones worked, they'd also create small orbs around their heads, but they wouldn't be real. That would give Shadow the advantage. After each had them created, two of them would launch their attacks until the real attack hit.

Shadow's Hidden Power attack went off as expected. I hadn't wanted him to do a lot of damage to the Venonat, at least not until now. Now I wanted him to finish it off to the point where it would leave. The Bug Pokemon was not using a confusion attack as I had expected, but instead it used a sleeping move. Luckily for me, the Sleep Powder atack had hit the clone and not Shadow. The clone instantly vanished.

"Okay Shadow, use Nasty Plot, then try and finish it with Dark Pulse." I called out. Usually Nasty Plot and Dark Pulse were seen as a bad moves because it caused the user to produce bad thoughts, but it wasn't like that, or at least it wasn't the way I saw it. Indeed they did create bad thoughts in the users heads, but it also took them out of the users head, getting all of bad thoughts out. It was more of a stress reliever in my opinion. Then, after his bad thoughts where centered and focused on, he would release them straight at his opponent.

"I think these items might be making the Pokemon act like this. I don't know why. Anyways, nice going Shadow." I called out, picking up the Star Crystal the Venonat had dropped. He grinned at me. He took a step towards me and fell to the ground. His body glowed a deep purple color. He cried out a little, placing his two front paws on his head. "You're poisoned boy. I can get that fixed, use Rest real quick." I tossed Mindbender's Pokeball in front of me. "Okay, when Shadow falls asleep, I want you to use Heal Bell on him to wake him up, okay?" She nodded. Shadow would quickly fall asleep. During that time, I'd have to keep him protected while Mindbender working on healing his status problems with one of her spells. Since she'd be working on him, that meant I'd have to protect her as well. I pulled out a Pokeball and tossed it in front of me. A blue bipedal dog-looking Pokemon stood in front of me.

"Okay Scampers, we'll protect them while they heal." I said. Scampers nodded. He closed his eyes and a blue aura pulse escaped from his head as he surveyed the area. ​

OOC: Guessing the other stuff didn't work? I'll make this post assuming that then.

IC: I turned back to see how Mindbender was doing on working with Shadow. For some reason, Shadow couldn't fall asleep. Mindbender hadn't started the Heal Bell spell yet because he hadn't fallen asleep. I assumed he didn't want to fall asleep beause he felt something would happen to me if he wasn't there.

"Alright, don't worry about it boy, Mindbender, just get him healed. Use Heal Bell still." She nodded, turning back to him, begining to chant something. Before I could see if the spell was working, Scampers backed up a little, growling. It took all of five seconds for me to see what he was growling at. A large Snake Pokemon slithered towards us. It hissed loudly and began its attack. It spat something down on the ground and slammed its large purpe tail down on the ground. A large ball of mud flew into the air and hurdled towards Scampers.

"Alright, counter that with Psychic, then use Earthquake." I called out. I knew Earthquake was risky if used the wrong way, but Scampers could control it. Scampers would send off a pulse of psychic energy that would hit the Mud Bomb attack and hopefully break it off. Then his Earthquake attack would create a small tremor in the ground that would shake up the Arbok a bit.​

Arbok launched forward, mouth filled with flames. It bit down on Scampers, but it didn't do much damage. Scampers tossed it off and took his battle stance. He circled his opponent, looking for a weak spot that he could attack. Once he had found something, he took a quick glance at me.

"Use Extremespeed and then hit it with Psychic." I called out. Scampers nodded, turning his attention back to the large cobra. He closed his eyes and focused on the Arbok. He then launched forward at incredible speed, sending small powerful bursts towards the cobra. I watched, focusing hard on Scampers as he moved rapidly around the Arbok, striking at only certain spots. I was hoping that it would strike back with a psychic move that Scampers could easily counter, then we could calm it down or make it go away and collect what item it dropped. ​

Scamper's small psychic bursts worked perfectly. He had hit the Arbok several times, causing a fair amount of damage. What I wasn't expecting was for the Arbok to Wrap itself around Scampers. I could see its large purple tail slowly getting tighter and tighter. I had to think of something quick to get him out of there. Scamper's arms were held underneath the Arbok's tail, so they were unable to move. I had to use a move that didn't require for him to move. A move that would cause the Arbok to release him. Then, the perfect move for this situation came to mind.

"Use Screech!" I called out. I was hoping that since Arbok was at a close range, that the Screech attack would hit it head on that would drastically drop the cobra's defense. Then a nice hard attack would be able to take it down. "Use Bone Rush when it lets you go." I called back Mindbender to her Pokeball and told Shadow to brace himself. Shadow nodded and placed his paws over his ears. Once Scampers opened his mouth, I knew the ear peircing sound would cause the snake to release him. Then Scampers would create a bone looking club and throw it at it, hitting it multiple times.

Scampers turned his head to the Arbok, took in a deep breath, and opened his mouth.​

My quick thinking had worked out well, but didn't give me the results that I wanted. I was hoping that the Arbok would be down and out of here, but that didn't work. It easily recovered from the Screech and launched an Earthquake attack, but it wasn't a major one since the ground didn't shake too much. Scamper's Bone Rush attack managed to stop the Earthquake from doing any more damage, which was lucky for us both because it was his weakness. The Arbok had now a serious look on its face. It began glaring at Scamper as its body grew in size.

"Scamper, quick, use Extremespeed, stop it from using Glare." I called out. I was hoping that Scamper's Extremespeed would be fast enough to stop the Arbok from paralyzing him. If it did, then we'd be safe for now from it, but we wouldn't be totally safe from it until we calmed the large snake down. Whatever item it possessed was making it cause this way. I wasn't sure why, but I was sure that it was my mission to find out.​
