I'm going to ask this right now. Why are we removing "crap" 'mons from the Mart? Pokemon like Raticate are actually good, situationally. I've won 2 FFAs with mine.

These Pokemon being in the Mart encourages people to actually obtain them. Nobody wants these 'mons normally, and would never go out of their way (putting time and effort into a creative piece) to obtain them.

Because the people with the loudest voices and the most control right now are in favor of it. As far as I'm following, rather than making the legitimately good stuff hard to get, the new Mart introduces more legit to semi-good stuff and gets rid of the base-tier stuff, which goes against every paradigm of logic ever besides "I don't want to put in creative effort in an RPG so let's reform the system to help that."

95% certain this was the complete opposite of the original post, but I suppose if I follow this vein of debate any more, I'll be flagged for a piss-weak argument and for being overtly aggressive, so I'm basically done here.

So since there's a sudden exodus in people in the know suddenly mass-buying Marts and some whispers in the main blast, should I assume that there's actually stuff going on here, or should I continue to remain in the dark?

I'd just like to say that the Pokemart looks so much nicer now. Honestly, I think this is something that is an overall improvement. I hope people view it more as a refreshing in order to better appropriate the type of Pokemon that should be in the mart. Furthermore it demonstrates that the URPG is open to changes, even though they may seem scary/ rewrite precedence.

This isn't necessarily a "Pokemart" issue, but are the fossil Pokemon going to be lowered in Rank? I've always been under the impression that the only reason they were complex rank was because they were available in the mart. I think even Hard would be reasonable.

EDIT: Also, no love for listing Pokemon by type I guess

Listing Pokemon by type didn't really serve any purpose. It only highlighted the fact that Ghost/Ice had a much small number available than types like Water.

Ranking of Pokemon isn't something I'm usually involved in, that's generally discussed by Stories/Park collaboratively.

I have a question. Now that all the fossils are non-marts, will Underground's fossil breakdown be modified to reflect that? Since now Spiritomb is equally hard to get as any of the previously mart fossils, it would make sense to have it just be a random fossil out of all of them without separating Spiritomb and Aerodactyl so much.

Ok fair enough, maybe @PrincessCrow; can address that.

Here's one though, how about a new Pokemart thread. 1. threads with 10000+ posts are clunky and take longer to load. 2. maybe put in a temporary title that point out the fact that new Pokemon are available? Plus we can see who gets more posts PXR or bmg!

    @Elamite;

In the Park, Chainy and I have discussed lowering the ranks of the first stage fossils before all of this Mart stuff. We're probably leaning toward Borderline (which is like Hard rank in stories) for them now, though the Evolved forms will probably stay in the Rare category for pictures sake and whatnot. That should also balance out some of our numbers.

However, I can't speak for Stories, since our ranks don't always match up. Hannah will have to provide some more insight on that.

Also, I think Spiritomb and Aerodactyl should still be hard to get and separated because they are better than the normal fossils generally. The rates for Underground can probably still be modified, but those two should still be difficult to obtain.

Personally I think that some of the fossils previously available in the Pokemart are much more useful than Spiritomb.

There's no need for a new thread. It's not even remotely slower to load because you don't load 10000+ posts a time. You load one page of 15 posts.

I agree a temporary title is appropriate.

I'm going to point out that cheap Pokemon selection is incredibly limited now, and the change really only benefits URPGers who have been around for a long time while hindering new players' selection.

I've addressed these concerns before, but apparently nobody cares.

Unfortunately cheap Pokemon are shit Pokemon. So by removing them, new players are forced into buying more expensive but more competitive Pokemon. Hooray for Capitalism!

And since those cheap Pokemon never got bought anyway, people can now write for them!

Edit by Chainy: And because those cheap Pokemon are shit, we can be sure there's going to be an arseload of stories being written for them!
