The final Fire Punch collided with the Grass type and caused it to flee. In its wake it left another Candy corn. I took out Snorlax's Pokeball and recalled the now tired Pokemon. In the same motion I grabbed a similar ball and called forth Infernape from earlier. She whirled her fire mane and turned to stare at me. I pointed at the item, "Please go pick that up so we can get on our way."

She nodded and sped toward the candy, returning to me swiftly. I flashed her smile and pointed towards the north. "Let's head that way, it should bring us closer to the exit. The next cave was empty save for two exits, one leading east and the other west. Since I was keeping track of the paths I took I was certain that heading west would bring us a welcome sight. I headed for the tunnel going west.​

The next tunnel opened up to reveal the monotone brown and grey of stone. The room also contained the small black and white form of Gothita. The Pokemon almost resembled a small child wearing a maid uniform. But its pink tinted skin belayed that notion. Infernape was still out with me but there was no way I was going to send her out against a Psychic type. Small or not that Pokemon could do some super effective moves against the partial Fighting type that is Infernape.

I hadn't brought anything that would have a solid advantage against Psychics, but one of my Pokemon would be strong enough to handle the situation without any great risk. With a flick of my wrist another Pokeball was sent spinning into the air. With a hiss it opened to fill the room with the soft glow of red light. The light quickly materialized into the the humanoid form of Alakazam. The brown and golden Pokemon resembled an old man with a long mustache, thin limbs, and a triangular shaped skull. Clasped in its hands were two silver spoons.

"Welcome, Alakazam. Start things off with a Shadow Ball technique."

The Alakazam moved its spoons in a deft manner and quickly conjured up a purple and black orb of swirling energy. The ball was sent towards the basic Pokemon.​

The dark form of Shadow Orb slammed into Gothita with a force that nearly took the small Pokemon off its feet. I thought for sure the Pokemon would go down, but it didn't. It rose on its small legs and responded with a Shadow Ball of its own. I mentally sighed as I had hoped it wouldn't know the move that would deal super effective damage against Alakazam. I could see Alakazam slightly panting and knew the attack had taken some energy out of him.

"Hang in there, Alakazam. You should have no problem finishing it off with another Shadow Ball move!"

The Psychic type responded with a small bow and readied its spoons to conjure up another Ghost type attack. Once again the dark energy zoomed toward Gothita.​

The second Shadow Ball collided with its foe and sent the small Pokemon spinning away from the force of the attack. Gothita rose and appeared to be dazed. It took a few woozy steps before it turned and fled the tunnel, leaving a small Candy Corn in its wake. I looked at the small piece of candy in something resembling disgust, it was my third piece already. "Alakazam, bring me that thing."

Alakazam nodded and a moment later the yellow and orange candy floated toward me to land perfectly in my outstretched hand. "Thanks, now return." I looked over at the calm Infernape. "Let's move on to the next area."

The next cave held the bug Pokemon known as Illumise. Ilumise had a light blue abdomen and face, while its arms, legs and lower body were a black. The long yellow appendages stuck out from its forehead while a lavender helmet-like fold of flesh encircled its head. Two small wings were folded demurely behind its back, but it was in a battle stance.

"Infernape, start things off with a Flamethrower move." I wasn't going to waste anytime.

Infernape inhaled and puffed out her flame cheeks and a moment later a swirling blaze of fire rushed towards Ilumise.

The Flamethrower struck Ilumise dead center and I couldn't help but feel a tad sorry for the Pokemon. It was weak to fire so that to have hurt it a great deal. My sympathy for it vanished a moment later when it attacked back. It had placed its small hands against the earth, and with a small upheaval motion it sent an attack towards the Infernape. I saw the attack was a Water Pulse when water started to shoot from the dirt in a straight line as the attack moved towards Infernape. We were both so shocked by the attack that I didn't call out a move and she didn't dodge. The Water attack hit and fully drenched Infernape in its cool wetness. We were both not happy now.

"Flamethrower one more time." This time Infernape fired a large ball of flame at Ilumise, one that lit up the entire cavern with its glow. I even had to bak away from the scorching heat when I felt it on my skin. ​

When the Ilumise fled, its small fairy-like wings beating furiously, it left behind another small piece of candy. That was really starting to be weird, wasn't like I was hungry or something. I signaled for Infernape to go and pick up the item and return it to me. Once she gave me the item we moved onto the next cavern.

In what seemed to be the theme of this place, this next cavern opened up to reveal a small pool of water and another north exit. IN the center of the water floated the small blue form of Horsea. Horsea was something I had been looking to catch for awhile, but I couldn't catch it today because I hadn't brought along any empty balls.

Infernape was out, but there was no way I was going to let her fight. Luckily, I had a Pokemon that could readily handle Water types. I reached for the one Pokemon I hadn't used as of yet. With a flash the ball opened to reveal the frog-like creature known as Toxicroak. She was mostly purple with red on hands, feet, and her large mouth pouch. "Toxicroak, let's start this battle off with Fake Out attack followed by Thunder Punch."

No sooner had the commands left my mouth when she charged forwards, clawed hands upraised. ​

Before Toxicroak's Fake Out could hit a vibrant blue shield of energy appeared around Horsea. The Horsea knew Protect, which was surprising considering it was only a wild Pokemon, but no matter. Toxicroak rebounded from the shield to land directly in the water and was hit by a whirling ball blue energy. While Toxicroak had been repealed by the Protect Horsea had fired off a Dragon Pulse attack.

The water seemed to dampen the power of the move and Toxicroak wasn't badly injured. And because Toxicroak was in the water he could heal and the water wouldn't hinder his movement because he was a frog. After absorbing the blow, Toxicroak swiftly moved forward, his fist yellow with electricity. The Thunder Punch struck Horsea on its snout and sent the Pokemon reeling. I had not attention of backing down. "Toxicroak, use Drain Punch!"

The same fist glowed a white this time as Toxicroak swam forward.​

Before the Drain Punch attack could hit Horsea released a sound that sounded somewhere between a roar and a squeak. A burst of golden light begain to shine from Horsea and a moment later that light smacked in Toxicroak, slowing it significantly in the water. Horsea and used one of its more powerful moves, Outrage. While it was not yet a dragon type, Outrage was still an upper tier attack. It must have been a last ditch effort by the Pokemon before it lost.

Powerful or not though, it didn't stop the Drain Punch from connecting with Horsea. The Pokemon squeled and dived underwater, not surfacing again. In its wake it had let multiple multi-colored gummy worms in its place. When Toxicroak had returned with the candy we moved onto the next challenge.​

The next room we entered contained nothing but two exits: one to the west and another to the north. I didn't want to use the last of my Crystal Ball so I just randomly picked a direction to go. I headed west.

This cavern opened up to reveal a wide chamber with a single exit to the west. But in the center was a Shaymin, a legendary. Shamin was a small white Pokemon that resembled a hedgehog, but instead of spikes on its back this Pokemon had a tuff of fur that resembled grass. A single pink flower grew right behind its ear on the left side.

Since it was a Grass type Infernape was the obvious choice. But Shaymin could use Psychic. That left Snorlax. I pulled out his Pokeball and sent him into the foray. "Start things off with a Gunk Shot move."

The dark purple blobs of poison material struck the Legendary squarely in its flank, its fur being matted with the noxious substance. I was hoping for the attack to poison the Pokemon, but it hadn't seem to done so. But I could fix that. My concentration was lost for a moment when the hedgehog-like Pokemon wailed and fired an attack at Snorlax. At first I wasn't sure what it was until I saw a small distortion in the air and realized the Pokemon had fired an Air Slash at Snorlax. The attack heaped some impressive damage on the already tired Snorlax, but I had a plan.

"Snorlax, fire off Icy Wind and Toxic. Use the Toxic first then immediately launch the other attack."

Snorlax didn't reply, instead it punched the ground hard and roared. A stream of dark liquid sprang up from the ground and rushed towards his foe. The air also seemed to take on a noticeable chill until frost was beginning to form. This was followed by the howls of wind as it swirled around the chamber before it rushed towards Shaymin.​
