OOC: Bee, Poliwag gender plz. And I know you don't particularly want this Poliwag, but since you're helping out Alaska you might as well attempt to catch it xD

"I MUST HAVE IT!" Alaska shrieked loudly. The Poliwag stopped jumping up and down for the amusement of the Feebas, and it turned to look curiously at our little group. Likewise, the Feebas noticed us, gaping at us stupidly with its open mouth and beady eyes. I shot a look and Cameron and he returned one, shrugging as he did so. He detached a new Poke Ball and threw it onto the ground. In a flash of white light a Lucario emerged. I quickly opened the file in my visor and read its stats. It was a well-raised Lucario, knowing quite a few extra moves. It would be a valuable asset to Alaska in this fight.

"All I want you to do is distract that Poliwag, I would prefer you try to make it leave, but I don't want to cause too much damage to it. I just want Alaska to worry about her battle. If you see the Poliwag going towards her, stop it with your Extremespeed attack," Cameron said to the Lucario. It hooted assent and ran inbetween the Poliwag and Alaska, keeping an eye on the Feebas as well.

"SPARKS! GET THE BATTER 'CAUSE WE'RE GONNA FRY US UP SOME FISH!" Alaska screamed. I glanced over at her, startled somewhat, but it was probably just her unique personality surfacing. I doubted she would actually fry a Pokemon she was trying to catch. Besides, I doubted she had the equipment to do so. However, I randomly remembered her comments about dynamite and rescinded that last thought.

Sparks stood in front of her Trainer and electricity surged through her body, shooting off her fur in small jets and scorching the ground. She seemed excited to battle and ready to try and help Alaska capture the Feebas.

"START OFF WITH THUNDER FANG!" Alaska yelled to Sparks. The large black lion Pokemon darted towards the Feebas as the electricity around her body moved up to her head. As she entered the river the electricity formed a pair of faux jaws that floated in front of her head, complete with spiky teeth. As Sparks moved towards the Feebas, the Poliwag keened and darted towards the Feebas, but Scamper the Lucario was faster. It was actually a blur as it smashed into the Poliwag, knocking it backwards. The Poliwag flew through the air and bounced back onto land. Scamper hissed at the Poliwag, daring it to try again.

Sparks had reached the Feebas. She closed the electric jaws around the Feebas' body, causing it to moan and flop around in pain. Sparks' legs were fully submerged at this point, which meant she could only awkwardly flounder back to the riverside. The Feebas beat her there, and began splashing around in the shallow part of the stream sending mud flying. It spattered all over the place, landing on Cameron, myself, and Shadow. Mindbender quickly teleported behind her Trainer to avoid being hit my the mud. I grinned despite being covered in mud. What a clever Pokemon.

Meanwhile, the Poliwag had recovered. It glared at the Lucario impeding it, and it hit the ground solidly with its tail, jumping as it did so. A large spray of mud shot out from between its legs, heading straight for Scamper. I looked over to the Feebas and saw that it too was attacking. Sparks was still floundering around in the stream, so the Feebas shot some rings of water at her. The rings swirled and jittered tantalisingly as they flew through the air towards the slow-moving Luxray.

Raiguy got up off the ground and brushed himself off. Smashing yourself against a bulky Whiscash a dozen times and then getting knocked out of the air with a Water Pulse, an attack that often confuses its victims, only to crash into the ground isn’t the most pleasant of experiences, so Raiguy took a little time to come to his senses. Afterwards, he looked at me as it waiting for another command.

“Raiguy?” I asked, “You have a little red stuff on your head, is that from you or Whiscash?”

My faithful battling partner simply shrugged. If it was his, it didn’t seem to affect him much. It was probably just a scratch from a stick or something else that was wedged in the ground. I heard some screaming from far away, but chose to ignore it.

I wasn’t sure what path of battle to take next. Whiscash would know what to do if I tried another Quick Attack. Then, I had a plan. Quite possibly the greatest plan ever conceived. I smiled at Raiguy, letting out a quite laugh. “Raiguy…” I said quietly, almost whispering.

Raiguy managed to pick up the sound of my voice with his massive ears. He responded with a long assortment of “rais” and “chus”.

“Okay, we’ll need some extra speed for this one, so use Agility to get back up on the tree, super fast. Then, like before, use a Quick Attack in his direction, only instead of bouncing off of him, launch as high as you can and wait for him to try a counter with Water Pulse or some other move like that. Then, when his mouth is wide open, MAKE HIM EAT THUNDER. I don’t care WHAT type he is, NOBODY can survive 1,000,000 volts on the inside of their throat without damage, especially when he keeps all that water down there.”

Raiguy grinned a devilish grin. If I didn’t know him better, I’d say he WANTED to completely obliterate Whiscash, but Raiguy was just a prankster, he had no intent on killing or permanently injuring anybody…right?

Raiguy landed on the ground heavily, trying to regain his senses. There was a little bit of blood on his head - he must have scratched his head on the way down. Daniel noticed this too.

“Raiguy?” he asked, “You have a little red stuff on your head, is that from you or Whiscash?”

Raiguy shrugged, and got to his feet, waiting for the next order. Suddenly, his ears perked up and I heard Daniel whispering. He was trying to communicate his orders to Raiguy without the Whiscash hearing them. Raichu responded with some growls, telling his partner that he had successfully heard the commands.

Suddenly, Raiguy shot off, back towards the tree. He was moving so fast he was practically a blur. Instead of staying in the tree, however, he rocketed off of it and high into the air. The Whiscash realised that this was a good time to strike, so it opened its mouth, charging a Water attack. Before he could launch it, however, Raichu fired a massive stream of electricity at the Whiscash. The attack was like the elemental version of an artillery strike. The massive dart-shaped attack smashed into Whiscash's face, going down his throat and reverberating through the water being charged. If it weren't for Whiscash's Ground typing, this probably would have killed it. However, the Whiscash was lucky to have its typing. It let the water attack dissipate and some smoke curled out of its mouth. It was in intense pain, but it knew that because the Raichu was in midair, it couldn't dodge. It aimed for where the Raichu was going to launch, and smashed its tail into the riverbank. A trail of mud shot into the air.

I looked at both Raiguy and the Mud Shot through my lens. According to my targeting software, they would collide just as the Raichu hit the ground. It would be interesting to see if Daniel could get his partner out of this problem.

OOC: I guess. Might as well catch it since nothing good has came my way :'[. I'll just throw it in the trade thread. Female I suppose. After I catch this I'll leave since I haven't found anything good. Don't wanna waste anymore time.

I saw the Poliwag move towards Sparks. That was when Scamper made his move. It was a quick blur, and the Poliwag flew back. By the looks of his attack, his speed had increased more than what it was before. He always knew how to impress me. Scamper knew the Poliwag was know focused on him, which is what we both wanted. If it was distracted with us, it wouldn't bother Alaska and her shot at capturing the Feebas, which was indeed a rare sight. She was pretty lucky to have found one.

Luxray made his attack and was headed back to the edge of the river, but of course, the fish was faster, it was after all a swimmer. It beat him to it and began throwing mud all over the place, hitting Chainy, Shadow and myself, but not Mindbender. I turn around and shook my head at her while laughing. "You could've thrown up a barrier." I said. She just grinned and shrugged. Shadow wasn't happy about having mud all over him. He let out a low angry growl and shook his body, sending the mud on his body towards Chainy and I. I looked back at Mindbender who was hiding behind me again. She always made me laugh which was what I liked about her. Great Pokemon to have on my team.

The Poliwag had now recovered from the attack Scamper's dished at it. It looked angry, which wasn't a surprise. It jumped into the air, sending a shot of mud towards Scamper. Even though looks can be deceiving, this attack looked pretty slow and weak. I wasn't going to underestimate it. I remembered what happened last time I underestimated something, didn't want that to happen again. I didn't want Scamper to tire himself out with this battle or take any damage so speed was key here. At least that's how I saw it.

"I know you can dodge that Scamper, use Extremespeed to not only dodge the attack, but to quickly Force Palm the Poliwag." Scamper was pretty fast, so I was pretty confident that he wouldn't get him, but I didn't want to let my guard down. The move was just exactly the way it sounded, moving at extremely fast speed to confuse opponents, get in fast hits, to evade attacks, or just to run away from things. The Force Palm was just to knock the Poliwag back down and away from the battle, with a slight chance of paralyzing it. Scamper would use Extremespeed to move quickly to the Poliwag, with his palm extended in front of him. Once he was close enough, a huge light green blast would come from his paw and his the Poliwag.

I watched as Sparks tried to struggle back to the bank of the river after using Thunder Fang on the now enraged Feebas. She panted as she drug herself onto dry land. Meanwhile, the Feebas made an epically huge splash that showered Bumbles, Chainy, and some of their Pokemon.

"Can't let that happen again," I muttered to myself. Then I had an idea, one that surprisingly, didn't involve dynamite.

"SPARKS," I yelled, "USE CRUNCH AND DRAG IT ONTO LAND!"

Sparks gave me a curious look, but darted forward to do what I had asked.

 

The attack went surprisingly well. Whiscash took some serious damage, and Raiguy escaped relatively unharmed. Unfortunately, a Mudshot attack was hurtling towards Raiguy, and he had no way of dodging.

I had to think fast. "Um...Lesse here...judging my the wind and the velocity of the fall, I'd say the best option is to..."

I pointed at Raiguy, "Use Slam on the mud to propell yourself towards that branch up there!"

Raiguy readied his tail. It was more then a risky move, but without risk, life was nothing short of BORING...

"I know you can dodge that Scamper, use Extremespeed to not only dodge the attack, but to quickly Force Palm the Poliwag," Cameron said to Scamper.

The dog-like Pokemon blurred off to the side, and the trail of mud flew past it, smashing on the ground in front of Cameron and me, showering us with mud for the second time in as many minutes. I groaned, and carefully wiped the muck off my lens so I could see what was going on.

Scamper had started darting towards the Poliwag, but the Poliwag had seen that coming. It followed through on the Mud Shot with a Water Gun. The stream of water didn't faze Scamper, though. It simply ran through the stream and jabbed at the Poliwag's body. It was too fast for me to see, but I knew that the punch wouldn't make contact. A light blue energy field would erupt from Scamper's paw and smash into the Poliwag. I didn't see the actual attack, but I did see the Poliwag go flying backwards from the strike. My head snapped to the other side when I heard Alaska.

"SPARKS," she yelled, "USE CRUNCH AND DRAG IT ONTO LAND!"

The giant Luxray grabbed the Feebas and pulled it onto land. The Feebas struggled, flailing around inside Sparks' mouth, but Sparks didn't drop the fish until it was over the riverbank. The fish began bouncing around in the mud and Sparks sat on her haunches, looking proudly at her master.

"Use Slam on the mud to propell yourself towards that branch up there," Daniel called out to Raiguy, pointing to a branch away from the Whiscash.

Raiguy nodded, and he forced his not inconsiderable bulk towards the mud. The mud smacked into his chest, and he angled his rebound towards the branch Daniel had requested. The mud stream smashing into his chest hurt, but not as bad as he thought it would. The mud successfully pushed Raiguy onto the branch Daniel had indicated. Raiguy turned around and watched the Whiscash carefully.

The Whiscash returned the careful look, and yawned. He began wriggling rhythmically around in the mud, and I noticed that the sun began to get a little hotter. The Whiscash was using Sunny Day! I watched Daniel carefully, to see what he would do.

The Poliwag had seen the attack coming and hit it with Water Gun. Even though that attack was extremely weak, there was no way it could've seen that coming. I just shook my head and thought of something else I could do to bring it down in one hit, or at least down to capture point.

"Alright Scamper, let's finish this." I said. "Give me a quick Swords Screech attack. Then hit it with a Thunder Punch. That may knock it out, but at least it'll be out of our way."

Scamper closed his eyes and his spikes on his fists quickly enlarged. Now that didn't mean that Swords Dance was activating, but phase one sure was. Scamper then would use the speed from ExtremeSpeed to quickly circle the Poliwag. It was close enough that Screech would lower its defenses, but far enough that it could move out of an attacks way. While circling the Poliwag, he would slide the enlarged spikes together creating a screeching sound, that was phase two. That was when Scamper would search for a weak spot and deliver the blow, which was phase three. Even though screech should be heard by all, the way Scamper was encircling the Poliwag should prevent anyone but the Poliwag from getting effected by the attack.

"If it doesn't faint, then I will attempt to capture it, otherwise, it'll be fine with me if I don't." I thought to myself.​

 

OOC: Oh my God, this battle will be epically long.

I looked carefully at the Feebas flopping around in front of me. It's eyes shone with a desire to fight. I would give it the fight it wished for.

"Use Leer, Sparks," I yelled.

Sparks' normally amused grin turned into an icy, cold stare as she began to glare at the gorgeous fish Pokemon.

"I'm going to give you a home, Feebas!" I whispered to it, yet still managed to puncuate the remark with an exclamation point, "In fact, I'll give you a name. Your name will be.....ARIEL. FOR THOU SHALT BE A MERMAID!"

I became so excited with the Feebas' awesome new name, I nearly fell over with glee. Meanwhile, the battle raged on.

"Alright Scamper, let's finish this," Cameron said to his Pokemon. "Give me a quick Swords Screech attack. Then hit it with a Thunder Punch. That may knock it out, but at least it'll be out of our way."

I assumed rightly that Swords Screech was a combo. Scamper darted towards the Poliwag, circling around it continually so it couldn't get an attack in. Some blue swords made out of Aura energyy formed, and they waved around Scamper in a threatening dance of sheer brutality. The Poliwag didn't notice, however. It was performing its own dance. Both dances finished at the same time. Just as the Aura Swords faded away, I heard a crack of thunder and rain began pouring out of the sky.

"Freaking perfect," I grumbled to myself. Then I amended that. At least it was better than the heat.

Scamper had started scraping the points on its paws together, making a godawful screeching sound. The Poliwag shuddered, and crouched over the ground, trying to shut out the noise. When Scamper saw the little blue tadpole completely demoralised, he blurred in for the kill, his left paw surrounded with crackling darts of electricity. But the Poliwag was prepared for a direct attack. A stream of water blasted out of its mouth into the ground below it. The Poliwag shot up into the air, over Scamper and out of the ThunderPunch's way.

I looked over to Alaska, and saw that Sparks was engaging in a very serious staring competition with the Feebas. Neither one was moving an inch. Suddenly, the Feebad flipped to one side, trying to get back into the river. As it moved, it surrounded itself with mist, trying to confuse Sparks and make her lose sight of her target.

"Good job Scamper, you did great." I called out, reaching into my pocket. "This time try and hit it with Thunder Punch again. I also want you to hit him with this." I tossed out a Parkball towards him. Scamper caught it in his paw. "I want you to hit it with that right after you deliver the blow. To make this quicker, use Quick Attack to bring up your speed." Scamper nodded and took off towards the Poliwag. His pushed his fist into the air as a bolt of lightning came down and electricity circled his fist. He swung his paw at the Poliwag, aiming head on while grasping the Parkball in his other hand, waiting to throw it at the Poliwag right after his attack.​

"I want you to hit it with that right after you deliver the blow. To make this quicker, use Quick Attack to bring up your speed."

Scamper nodded, and he began running towards the Poliwag. As he did so, he threw up his right paw and a lightning bolt descended out of the clear blue sky and struck it. Little sparks began crawling all over his paw, coating it in electricity. The second the Poliwag touched the ground, Scamper struck it hard with the ThunderPunch. The Poliwag bounced and rolled along the ground, towards the lake. But before it could try to get up and respond, Scamper blurred forward and tapped the Poliwag with the Park Ball. The Poliwag was converted into red light and the Park Ball opened up so the light could fly in. The ball began shaking as Poliwag fought for its freedom.

Suddenly, the ball clicked open and the Poliwag burst out. Apparently, it had finally realised it was outclassed, because it ran towards the lake, attempting to escape. I waited to see whether or not Cameron would give chase.

"Okay, so now it decides to leave, well too bad. We already brought it down to capture level, so that is just what I'll do. I was quite confident that Scamper could stop the Poliwag from getting into the lake, but I wasn't sure if it would stay in the ball once Scamper hit it with it. If it didn't then that would be a sign to let it go. I didn't really care, but I had already spent time bringing the health down, so I figure why not try and catch it.​

Scamper picked up the Park Ball and ran towards the Poliwag. He easily overtook the tadpole Pokemon and shunted it to the side with his shoulder, knocking it over. He then threw the Park Ball at the Poliwag again, and it was sucked inside once more. The ball shook for a couple seconds, then stilled.

"Congratulations, you caught the Poliwag," I said to Cameron. Dual floated it over to me using his telekinetic powers, and I tucked it into my satchel. Cameron returned Scamper to his Poke Ball and walked over to me. He looked over at Alaska, who was still battling the Feebas.

"That looks like it is going to take a while," he said to me. "Is it okay if I go on ahead?"

I scratched my head. A strange request, considering he had come to do a Team Run, but there was nothing inherently wrong in the request.

"Uhh, sure," I said to Cameron. "I'd better keep an eye on Alaska, though, just in case. I'll get Dual to go along with you and I'll catch up with you later."

Cameron nodded and walked over to his two waiting Pokemon, to explain to them what was happening. I turned to Dual.

"I'm gunna have to keep and eye on Alaska," I said. "Go along with Cameron and if any serious problems occur, contact me."

Dual nodded agreement. He also seemed somewhat pleased, and I called him on it.

"Try not to get too flirty with the Gardevoir," I rebuked him, "Cameron is a good guy and I don't want him gored by an angry Dewgong or flattened by a Wailord."

<You've got nothing to worry about,> Dual said telepathically.

Yeah right, I thought, watching as Dual led Cameron, Shadow, and Mindbender away, up the creek towards the lake.

The Poliwag was too slow for Scamper. He easily put the Poliwag inside the Parkball, making the capture a success. I wasn't sure if I was going to keep it, but I was glad I at least caught something.

"That looks like it is going to take a while," I said to Chainy, "Is it okay if I go on ahead?"

"Uhh, sure," He said in response. "I'd better keep an eye on Alaska, though, just in case. I'll get Dual to go along with you and I'll catch up with you later."

"Sounds like a plan." I said, taking off with Chainys Gallede.

"So where are we off too?" I asked Dual. "I prefer any place where Clamperl, Staryu or Horsea may be. As long as it is something interesting. Lead the way."​

<Wherever you wish, I do not intend to shepherd you in any particular direction,> I replied, communicating with him telepathically. It would have been more conventional to speak with him through the Gardevoir-beauty, but I did not wish to seem rude and burn any bridges by seeming eager to enter into direct communication.

I suddenly smelt a sharp-sugar-yellow smell, and I followed it. There was a small grove of trees just up ahead, and I led the Trainer-friend-human there. The Shadow-canine-partner seemed happy to be away from the water. He also seemed like a most adequate individual - most Dark types were assholes. Not to mention the stunning beauty of the Trainer-friend-human. I found myself quite enjoying the company of this particular human, which was rare. Very few humans interested me.

In the middle of the trees was a large one with yellow leaves. I could smell the sweet scent of honey - if the Gardevoir-beauty hadn't been there, I would have immediately raided the Combee storage nest that was probably inside. I also knew that the Trainer-friend-human was carrying some Honey on his person - he could perhaps use the scent of it around here to lure some rare Pokemon.

"Wherever you wish, I do not intend to shepherd you in any particular direction," Dual replied, communicating with me telepathically.

"Great!" I grinned, "I can go where ever I want." I immediately began thinking of all the different locations I could go do. Danger was not anything that mattered to me if it meant finding a rare Pokemon. Though it didn't matter to me, the safety of my Pokemon did, which was why I didn't do most things I wanted to do.

I could smell honey around us and remembered that I had brought some. Maybe if I used some, and I was lucky, something good would come along. I pulled out my honey and let Shadow smear it on a tree with his arrow-pointed tail. He liked doing that because he liked licking the honey off afterwards, so I had no problem with him doing that.

The Shadow-canine-partner smeared some Honey on the sweet-sugar-smelling tree using its pointed tail, and we moved on. The dog then began licking its tail, enjoying the taste of the honey. The Gardevoir-beauty giggled, and I could see why. In order to lick the honey but continue to move forward, the Shadow-canine-partner was forced to continually run in circles. It soon got dizzy and fell on its rump, its head rotating comically in circles.

I shook my head, quietly amused. While doing this, I saw something out of the corner of my eye. A young Lombre moved forward on its knuckles like an ape, drawn by the smell of the honey on the Shadow-canine-partner's tail. It yapped a greeting to us, and I returned a light telepathic flick of acknowledgement. I felt the Gardevoir-beauty do the same.

I also heard a strange trilling sound, and I looked to the river. A young Horsea had also smelled the delicious treat, and so it had come up as close as it could to beg for some treats. It trilled again, plainly pleading with the Trainer-friend-human for something that was tasty and unhealthy. I caught the Trainer-friend-human's eyes and raised both my arms, indicating silently that he could take a shot at either, but if he did the other would likely respond as well. At least this Horsea was a lot less angry than the Kingra I had chased off last time we were in this area.

It was not long before two Pokemon showed because of the scent of my Honey. A smaller version of the light greenish/dark green Mexican-looking-dancing-statue with a large sombrero we saw earlier, and a small blue seahorse with a large tube mouth appeared before us . They were pretty decent as well. I was pretty content at this find as it was my first decent find. I did already own a Kingdra and a Ludicolo, but I figure I should at least attempt to capture these, if anything, at least the Horsea. The Horsea looked at me and my honey, telling me with his eyes that it wanted some. It was so cute that I wanted to give it some right on the spot, but I knew if I did that, it would have what it wanted and would probably leave me, and that is not what I wanted. I ignored the cute looks it was giving me and readied myself for battle.

"When I capture you, you can have all the honey you want." I smiled. I thought of who I should use. I looked over at Scamper who had been following at a distance from us, observing the area around him like he always did. He gave a slight nod and knew what I wanted.

Wyldfyr hadn't been out all day, and I knew he was itching for a battle. I wasn't sure why I brought him since his type made him weak in this area, but I was sure going to make use of him. Plus, he was a good fighter, and that wasn't because he was part fighting. I had to be careful when using him here, I didn't want him overpowered by the two water type Pokemon. Even though Wyldfyr was a fire type, I knew he wouldn’t go down easily if we played this right. I brought out his red and black Pokeball and tossed it besides Scamper. A humanoid fire monkey flashed before me. He pulled his arms together and breathed in deeply. Scamper eyed the Horsea, while Wyldfyr had his eyes set on the Lombre.

“If the Lombre wants to leave, let it go.” I called out to Wyldfyr, “but Scamper, don’t let that Horsea escape you. “ I looked at the battle field I had to work with. A slow-moving river and an area with a lot of trees. Those trees weren’t going to be much help, if anything, they would just be in my way. I had to find a way to make it work. Both Scamper and Wylfyr were good at using fast striking moves, but that was going to be a slight problem with the trees in my way, however, I was already thinking of something else to do. At least I could use fast ranged moves in the water. The river was narrow enough that if Scamper moved fast enough, he could perform a light attack and make it to the other side.

“Alright, Scamper, Wyldfyr, start off with a Swords Dance attack, we’re going to take this nice and slow.” I called out. “After that, Scamper, I want you to Quick Punch yourself to the other side of the river. Wyldfyr, all you need to do is Fake Out, try and slam it into that tree that is behind Lombre. Both Scamper and Wyldfyr nodded and began working on their moves.

Scamper would be back to back with Wyldfyr as they preformed their Swords Dance move, hopefully raising their attack by at least one stage. If that succeeded, or even if it didn’t, Scamper would dart off moving at an incredibly fast speed. That speed would allow him to quickly run on water, give a quick weak blow, and make it to the other side. As long as he made it to the other side, that would be fine with me. I didn’t want him to damage the Horsea much yet, I just wanted minimal damage done to it, while the next parts played out.

Wyldfyr would dart off towards the Lombre. He would also be moving at an incredibly fast speed, but it wouldn’t be as fast as Scamper. That didn’t matter though because Wyldfyr liked using stronger, more powerful attacks, which was fine with me. Once he got close enough to the Lombre, he’d one his mouth and send out a strong blast of air that would send the Lombre back into the tree that was behind it. It was quite simple, and should not do much damage if any; I just wanted to see what battle the two wild Pokémon had in them before I set off a second attack. That would help me figure out what to look out for. Right now, all I had to do is stall for time, wasn’t going to be that hard, so long as they didn’t leave the area. If I played this right, these two Pokémon would soon be in my hands, and I could gift them to a friend.

These two Pokémon weren’t that fast, so once again speed was on my side. That’s what I needed to keep the two Pokémon from leaving this area and battling me. If I could wear them out as quickly as possible, I’d catch them much more easily and move on with my trip. Perhaps I could even attempt to catch one real soon, if everything plays out well enough for that to happen.
