    BP-2: Swampert VS Geodude

    Ranger John Shay

OOC: Gender? (Asked in last post, but maybe you didn't notice or something lol)

"Okay, Swampert, use Protect to shield yourself from Geodude’s Rollout attack!" Tiberius commanded.

It seemed he wanted to stall out Geodude. It would certainly end Geodude's Rollout, preventing it from becoming a problem.

A green hemisphere of energy blossomed into appearance around Swampert, surrounding her. She watched calmly as Geodude rolled into the barrier, unafraid of the move. Geodude collided into the Protect, and was knocked back immediately.

"Geodude," it grunted, not particularly happy about this result. However, it was clearly all business, as it wasted no time in using this standoff to its advantage.

Keeping a wary eye on Swampert, Geodude wrapped its arms around itself, curling into a ball. An orange pyramid of energy appeared around it, and was slowly absorbed into the Pokemon's skin.

    "Geodude!" the Pokemon shouted emphatically.

Geodude had used Defense Curl. I knew this would make it a little more difficult for Swampert's Physical attacks to do significant damage - that was probably one of Geodude's main reasons to use the move. It must have known Swampert was a strong Physical attacker. However, I could see this helping Tiberius in some ways as well. If he had been afraid of doing too much damage, that should no longer be a concern after this.

As Swampert's Protect began to fade away, Geodude began rolling towards it again. It was continuing to use Rollout, and while it lost its momentum from earlier, Defense Curl not only bulked up its Defense, but also increased the strength of Rollout specifically. It was a side-effect of the move, and now Rollout was that much more fearsome a move. This Geodude knew what it was doing - Tiberius would have to deal with it efficiently.

“I can see that Geodude is on a mission to win this fight. But I’m going catch him if it’s the last thing I do.”

Looking at this Pokemon, I could see the determination in his eyes to win this battle. This was good, it meant he would not give up easy and would not fail me in combat. I was going hit him with a Mud-Slap attack, but his Defense Curl took that out. I didn’t want to use a Water Gun attack because it might KO him; then again he could take it like before, but do I want to risk it that was the question. Swampert can deal quite a bit of punishment and Geodude’s Rollout attack would do low damage since Swampert was a Ground and Water type Pokemon. With that being said, Water Gun was my best choice. But with a Rollout attack Swampert’s Mud-Slap might make him slip off course and miss Swampert.

“Okay, Swampert. use your Mud-Slap attack now!
Swampert let out a little water from her mouth to make some mud. Then, as the Goedude was getting closer, Swampert took her right hand and heaved a chunk of mud at the Geodude.

    BP-3: Swampert VS Geodude

    Ranger John Shay

"I can see that Geodude is on a mission to win this fight. But, I’m going catch him if it’s the last thing I do," Tiberius declared dramatically.

He watched Geodude roll towards his Swampert, assessing the situation. He didn't have a lot of time, but was evidently studying the situation carefully with the time he did have before Geodude connected with Swampert. It seemed as though he were trying to decide between a few options - there was a slight frown on his face, and he was clearly deep in thought.

Seemingly making up his mind, Tiberius said, "Okay, Swampert, use your Mud-Slap attack now!"

So he had settled on Mud-Slap. Swampert spat out a small wad of mud into her hand, and tossed the mud at the rolling Geodude. The mud landed on Geodude. The Pokemon cried loudly in disdain as the mud got into his eyes, and he bounced awkwardly into a stop.

"Geo!" Geodude wiped at his eyes, trying to get the mud out. He quickly removed the mud, but seemed to be disoriented. He was blinking rapidly, and I suspected a little bit of mud may have actually gotten into his eye - only enough to be a small distraction. Still, a distraction was a distraction, and there could be repercussions on Geodude's accuracy in the battle.

Geodude glared at Swampert with one eye, still scratching at the other one. Angrily, the Pokemon dug his hand into the cave wall and ripped out large sections of the limestone. His rage was clearly fueling him, but it also impressed me how this Pokemon refused to let up against his opponent.

"Geodude!" the Pokemon yelled, tossing part of what had been the cave wall at Swampert. The boulder was the size of Geodude itself. Almost immediately after tossing the first rock, Geodude heaved up another piece of rubble, and threw that at Swampert as well. This was Rock Blast. Thankfully for Swampert, Geodude only had the concentration to toss two rocks at the moment. However, two rocks can be very devastating if they land in weak spots, with the potential to break bones.

“Okay now we can finish off this battle and catch this Geodude you ready to end this Swampert”.

Swampert turn to me then gave me a grin, I could see that she was enjoying this battle but it’s time to end this and move on. Swampert’s Water Gun was the one move that would weaken Geodude enough so I could through my Pokeball at it this was it Geodude will soon be mine.

“Okay, Swampert use your Water Gun attack now!”.
Swampert still with a grin on her face opened her mouth and let out a burst of water at the Geodude.

    BP-4: Swampert VS Geodude

    Ranger John Shay

"Okay, now we can finish off this battle and catch this Geodude. You ready to end this, Swampert?" Tiberius asked his faithful Pokemon.

Swampert nodded. Clearly, she and her Trainer believed they had Geodude right where they wanted it. However, Geodude's Rock Blast was incoming, and Tiberius had to do something quickly before they connected.

"Okay, Swampert, use your Water Gun attack now!" Tiberius ordered.

Swampert launched a stream of water from her mouth. The Water Gun knocked the two boulders from Rock Blast back towards their user.

"Geodude," Geodude muttered in annoyance. Clearly, he was not happy with having his own attack turned on him. He swung a fist at the boulder, smashing it and sending it back towards Swampert. This was Rock Smash, and he was using it as a counterattack to Swampert's counterattack - a counter-counterattack, if you will. However, the second Rock Smash on the second boulder missed wildly - I suspected that was the accuracy drop from Mud-Slap coming into play. The boulder landed on Geodude, but he seemed to take only minimal damage. I remembered he had used Defense Curl earlier - that had affected the damage he had taken.

Meanwhile, Swampert had something to worry about herself. The boulder that Geodude had managed to smash was now going straight at her in the form of multiple smaller boulders. Swampert closed her eyes as she was pelted by the rocks. Fortunately for her, Rock Smash wasn't a particularly strong move, and she had a lot of defensive bulk to begin with.

I turned to Tiberius. This had probably not turned out the way he had hoped. Would he still try for the capture?

“Huh well that sucks okay new plan.”

I didn’t expect that to happen, but Geodude still will be mine so how to get him weak enough to catch him? A Mud Bomb attack would be nice, but I need to hit him hard enough to get him down him for one moment, to throw my Pokeball at him. Swampert, has Hammer Arm attack to that might KO him; but he also has Defense Curl to that weaken Hammer Arms attack. That was good for me. Looking at this Pokemon I had one question. Can he take the attack? well there’s one way to find out and that’s to do it.

“Okay Swampert, use your Hammer Arm attack!.”

Swampert took one good look at Geodude then took off running. Swampert’s is a big Pokemon and does not have a lot of speed, but she ran as fast as her legs could. Then in the middle of her dash she jump in to the air, then cocked back her right arm and went to slam it in to the Geodude. In the middle of the attack, I grabbed the Pokeball on my right hip and waited for the right moment to throw it into the air. Then I chucked it at Geodude.

    Ranger John Shay

"Huh... Well, that sucks. Okay, new plan," Tiberius said. His ability to bounce back from a failed attack impressed me, and I waited to see what his next move would be.

Tiberius seemed to think a bit before giving his Swampert instructions. "Okay Swampert, use your Hammer Arm attack!"

Hammer Arm was a very powerful Fighting-type move - it had the potential to do a lot of damage to Geodude and really help him get the capture. However, there were drawbacks to the move - its accuracy wasn't the greatest, and it lowered the user's Speed. It could be a thorn in the side for Tiberius and Swampert if things don't go well.

Swampert took a slow step towards Geodude, and then stretched her arm and dropped a fist vertically on Geodude. Geodude bellowed in pain, and crumbled to the ground. The move had literally hit him head-on. Claiming the opportunity straight away, Tiberius tossed a Park Ball at Geodude. The Pokemon was sucked into the capsule, and then it dropped to the ground.

    Wobble.

    Wobble.

    Wobble.

    Ding.

Tiberius had himself a new Geodude - his first capture in the National Park! I went over and pocketed the Geodude's Park Ball.

"Congratulations, Tiberius! You have successfully captured your first Pokemon in the National Park!" I smiled at Tiberius. "As you may or may not know, you can only keep three of the Pokemon you capture in the National Park. I'll keep any Pokemon you capture during the run until the run is over, and then you get to take three of them when the run is over along with a slip to get them transferred into true Pokeballs at the Registration Office. Well, if you're ready, want to continue?"

It was over Geodude was mine. Looking at that pokeball as my Ranger pick it up off the ground made me realize this was going to tough ride but that was fine with me. I call out to my Swampert to return to it’s containment unit for a well earned rest. Swampert is strong but it’s time to use some of the other, Pokemon now Swampert was taking more Damage that I thought she would. And my Empoleon was itching for a fight so it was all good for now.

“Okay i’m ready to continue on when you are”.
And with any luck will fine some more good Pokemon in this cave.

"Okay, I'm ready to continue on when you are," Tiberius said.

I nodded, and led the way. We continued walking along the tunnel, and I looked at my map to figure out which way I was supposed to go. This tunnel should connect directly into the volcano, and there would be a carved path going around the volcano's walls on which we could walk around the interior of the volcano. Side paths led off of the volcano and into different areas, such as this tunnel. We would end up entering the volcano through a side path.

We continued making progress. The tunnel was really hot, and getting hotter by the minute - I could all but feel the volcano's state getting worse and worse with each passing moment. I really wondered what was going on. It was worrying that we could be within the volcano should it erupt, but I had methods of dealing with it. Obviously, it was something I would prefer didn't occur, but it was not something that was likely to be particularly dangerous given what I could do to prevent it.

Suddenly, I tripped and fell to the ground. I cursed, and told Tiberius to stop. Shining my flashlight at the ground, I saw a trail of displaced dirt - that had been what I tripped on. I traced the trail to the wall, and found it leading to something of interest. I shined my light on it, and it revealed itself to be none other than a...

"Diglett!" the Pokemon cried energetically when it saw the light shined on it. Its eyes lit up happily when it realized it had visitors.

"Interested in battling this Diglett?" I asked Tiberius.

As my Ranger led me through the cave the heat was intensifying I looked at Ranger Shay, as he was looking at his map navigating us deeper in the cave. I was wondering in my head what type of Pokemon, we were going to run in to when Ranger Shay tripped over something. he looked at me and said stop he got up. Shining his flashlight at the ground, he saw a trail on the ground we followed it until we found a Diglett, it looked happy to see us then my Ranger asked me if I wanted to battle it.

“I like Diglett, but it would have to wait for a another time to be caught let see if he will let us pass first before we battle”.

OOC: I'm going to have to ask you to bump up the quality of your posts a little. I'm not asking for too much; start off with grammar and length. Maybe add in a bit of description if you can.

"I like Diglett, but it would have to wait for a another time to be caught. Let's see if he will let us pass first before we battle," Tiberius said.

I nodded, and I kept an eye on the Diglett to see how it would react as we walked past it. The Diglett disappointedly burrowed back underground, and I exhaled. I had had my doubts that the Pokemon would simply let us walk away, given its affectionate response to being noticed in the first place.

    "Diglett!"

I yelled in surprise, leaping backwards a step. Diglett had popped up right in front of me. Judging by the expression on its face, there was no doubt in my mind it was the same one we had encountered just a moment ago. It looked pleased with itself, clearly happy to have surprised me. The Pokemon was playing peek-a-boo with us!

"Tiberius," I told my Trainer, "I think you'll have to battle this Pokemon. Playful Pokemon like these ones don't just go away. You're going to have to battle it, otherwise it may end up harassing us for the rest of our journey."

“I would like to use a pokedoll to get away for this Diglett and continue on the path.”

The Diglett was a nice Pokemon, but was not on the list and with that said it was time to move on, and look for new Pokemon that might be waiting us for in this cave. Still it’s a shame, I have to pass on it but next time I come here, I was going to get it. But next time was going to wait because this heat was getting ridiculous, if I didn’t know better I’d say this mountain was getting ready to erupt. That would be the worst possible situation we could get, but it was time to focus on the road up ahead.

    Tiberius handed me some money.

"I would like to use a Pokedoll to get away from this Diglett and continued on the path," Tiberius stated. I nodded, and took his money. I quickly shoved it in my pocket and pulled out a Pokedoll from my bag. As I took it out, Diglett's eyes immediately widened. Pokedolls had a very interesting ability in that they were able to distract essentially every Pokemon that existed. It was perfect for a quick escape from a Pokemon.

I propped the Pokedoll on the ground, and Diglett immediately crawled towards it. I knew he wouldn't chase us now with this toy in play, so I calmly continued walking down the tunnel with Tiberius. We quickly reached another fork, and I led my Trainer down the right tunnel. We were getting closer and closer to Mount Deckbi, though we still had quite a long way to go.

    "Slugma..."

I stopped. Had I heard something? I thought I did, but it didn't seem that there was anything in front of me.

    "Slugma..."

There it was again - I had definitely heard it. I looked around the tunnel - there was nothing in front of me, beside me, or behind me. What had caused the noise?

A drip of lava dropped from the ceiling and landed in front of me. I immediately stepped back and looked up.

"Slugma..." A moving pile of lava was crawling across the ceiling. No, it wasn't a moving pile of lava - it was a Slugma! I recognized the Fire-type Pokemon as the source of the noise.

"Tiberius, do you want to battle this Pokemon?" I asked my Trainer.

“A Slugma, well , didn’t think I would find one. This Pokemon will make a fine addition to my team , so yes I will battle it.”

I want to send my swampert, again but she needs to rest so this time I was going to send my Tyranitar. And since he was Rock and Dark type, Fire type moves would be weak against him. This put me at a advantage against it, an advantage I liked.

“Okay, Tyranitar you’re up!” I called out my Pokemon as I threw it’s pokeball in front of me. The red light flash in front of my eye’s as my Tyranitar appeared in front of me. Tyranitar was a big Pokemon to say the least, he was Green with a blue belly and had what looked like spikes running down his back. His tail was long with a nice tip and spikes around it and he had three claws on both hands, all of them were sharp enough to slash someone’s face right off their head. Yes sir, he was a force to be reckon with.

“Okay, Tyranitar use you Rock Slide attack!”

Tyranitar pick up a stone, then tossed it in to the ceiling make them all fall.

"A Slugma. Well, didn't think I would find one. This Pokemon will make a fine addition to my team, so yes I will battle it," Tiberius stated flatly. His fingers hesitated at his belt momentarily as he decided which Pokemon to use, and then he settled on one and threw it.

"Okay, Tyranitar, you're up!" called Tiberius. A behemoth of a Pokemon was summoned into battle. The large green Pokemon was almost as tall as the cave. He roared loudly, announcing his presence. I smiled, quite fond of these Pokemon.

"Okay, Tyranitar use your Rock Slide attack!" Tiberius yelled.

Tyranitar nodded. He heaved up a stone from the ground, and threw it at the ceiling. Chunks of the ceiling began to collapse, and Slugma fell along with them. The Pokemon was crushed beneath chunks of rock - we could no longer see it.

I moved my head around, looking for the Pokemon.

"Slugma..." The Pokemon crawled out from underneath one of the rocks against the wall. It had only been underneath the rock on the edge of the mess - that meant he had only taken minimal damage from the Rock Slide, as most of the Rock Slide landed closer to the center of the cave.

Slugma opened its mouth, and blew a purple gas at Tyranitar. I recognized this as Smog - one of the few Poison-type moves Slugma were capable of using. The gas surrounded Tyranitar, and the Pokemon began coughing as the poisonous cloud filled up his lungs.

The Smog quickly passed away from Tyranitar. Tyranitar coughed once more, then eyed Slugma with a new anger in his eyes. He had not taken well to taking an overwhelming attack like that from such a small Pokemon.

I could see that my Tyranitar was not happy about the Smog attack, the fire that burned in his eyes meant that Slugma was about to have a bad day. I wanted to use a another Rock Slide, but I didn’t want to cause a cave in and trap us in here. A Sandstorm might do the job because I don't want to, which was to do heavy damage right now. But I could chip away, at her one little bit at a time. This would prove to a difficult task, but I have faith that Tyranitar will pull though for me. Slugma, was slow so I didn’t have to watch for that but it can poison my Tyranitar and that would be a disaster. This will have to be done with perfect precision and timing if I want to catch this Pokemon.

”Okay Tyranitar use your Sandstorm attack!”.

I watched as my, Tyranitar looked at me then it gave me a nod. He took a deep breath then let out a loud roar then his body begain to glow. I felt a breeze against the back of my neck, then my arm started to itch. Something landed in my hair and I pulled it out and it was a grain of sand, I could here the howling of the wind as a chill ran down my spine. I knew this was going to be big, the howling got louder and the wind picked up more grains of sand as they began to hit me. I took a closer look at my Tyranitar as his body was like a beacon flashing. He was giving off a light green color then I heard the screeching, of the wind as it came closer until a blast of sand hit me face on. It was so powerful it threw me off me feet, the sand was scratching my arms and face as I pulled my hood over my face to shield it from the Sandstorm in the tunnel, the floor of which quickly started to disappear because of the sand. Tyranitar’s face let me know that he was enjoying this a little to much but it was sure to hurt Slagma, but not too much.

    BP-2: Tyranitar VS Slugma

    Ranger John Shay

A look of thought dawned on Tiberius' face. He seemed to consider things before saying, "Okay, Tyranitar, use your Sandstorm attack!"

Tyranitar roared in acknowledgement, clearly in favor of this command. As a Pokemon with the Sandstream ability, Sandstorm was an easy move for it to use.

Sand began pouring out of the numerous holes on Tyranitar's body. A sandstorm quickly whipped up, and soon sand was flying all over the place. It was incredibly hard to see. I recalled Dragonite into her Pokeball so she wouldn't take damage, and slipped on a pair of goggles. I knew Tyranitar would have no problem seeing things even in these extreme conditions, as he was a Pokemon that favored them. Slugma, as a Pokemon, could probably sense the general location of things, though the sandstorm would definitely hurt him. The Rock-type tendencies he had due to being the pre-evolution of a part-Rock-type Pokemon in Magcargo probably helped.

With my goggles on, I had a much easier time seeing things. While I couldn't see the details of their shapes, I could see the silhouettes of Tiberius, Tyranitar, and Slugma.

"Slugma!" I heard the Pokemon cry, and she recoiled in pain - the Sandstorm was taking its toll on her. However, Slugma did not falter. She started glowing a firey red, and I recognized the move she was using. Slugma was using Flame Burst! In a few moments, Slugma would explode in a burst of flames. Tiberius would be smart to do something before that happened.

I could see a chance to stop this move by using, Rock Slide attack. It had a chance to make the Slugma flinch. Watching Slugma unleash it’s Flame Burst attack I didn’t see much of a choice, in the matter. I don’t want Tyranitar to take any damage if I could prevent it from happening. So I took a nice good look around myself to see what options I had, and didn’t find any good ones. So Rock Slide it is.

“Okay Tyranitar use your Rock Slide attack!”

Tyranitar face was filled with joy, as he just loved to break things. He slammed his fist into the cave wall and pulled out a boulder bigger then my body. ”Tyranitar!”, I heard him let out his war cry as he tossed the boulder in to the side of the cave wall, the impact of the boulder shook the cave floor like a mini earthquake. I watched as the cave wall begain to fall, the sound was like thunder in the sky.

"Okay Tyranitar, use your Rock Slide attack!"

Tyranitar was happy to oblige, clearly loving to cause devastation. He slammed his fist into the cave wall, and ripped out a large boulder. The Pokemon threw the boulder at the cave wall, and it caused chunks of the ceiling to fall on Slugma.

"Slugma!" the Pokemon cried. Out of desperation, he released his Flame Burst. Flames flew in all directions, and some of them collided with the falling rocks, knocking them astray. However, many of the stones still landed on Slugma, battering the Pokemon. Coupled with the Sandstorm damage, I suspected Slugma had taken some nice damage this turn. I also noticed Tyranitar had taken a few of the flying embers as well, but most likely for minimal damage. The Pokemon was still looking as dominant as ever.

I stepped in. "Tiberius, I'm going to have to ask you to be more careful about damaging the environment. This is the second time you have used Rock Slide in a way that caused damage to the area. The first time I let it fly, but this time, I'm going to have to give you a warning. Next time, you'll be getting a strike. Please be more careful - the Park is not a playground." I noticed the rocks Slugma was buried underneath shifting, and took a step back, allowing the battle to resume.

Slugma crawled his way out of the mess of rocks. Eyeing Tyranitar, the Pokemon opened his mouth and launched an intense blue flame straight at Tyranitar. This was the powerful Inferno move. Its accuracy was very poor, but if it landed, it would cause some eyeopening damage and burn Tyranitar as well.

Tyranitar’s Rock Slide hit the Slugma , and rattled it around a little. It was clear that this battle was coming to its end. “Okay tyranitar grea......” befor I could finish what I was about to say, Ranger Shay had stepped in.

“Tiberius, I'm going to have to ask you to be more careful about damaging the environment. This is the second time you have used Rock Slide in a way that caused damage to the area. The first time I let it fly, but this time, I'm going to have to give you a warning. Next time, you'll be getting a strike. Please be more careful - the Park is not a playground.”

I took a closer look at cave environment and Ranger Shay was right, I did have way to much damage to this place and having Tyranitar out was not going to help. “Great job, Tyranitar, time for some rest, return.” Tyranitar was now out of the battle; the next Pokemon I send is going to be Empoleon. I think after all he can use Swagger, and Brine, and since he was a Steel and Water type, Sandstorm would not hurt him. But still Inferno was a good move so I needed to watch it closely.

“Sorry about the damage to the environment, I’ll be more careful this time. Okay, Empoleon you’re up”

I took out Empoleon’s Pokeball and threw it in the air once more. The light beamed from the Pokeball and Empoleon appeared in front of me. Empoleon looked like a big penguin, his body was blue and he had a beak and crown which were gold. He had two large flippers, and his feet were webbed like a frog, and he had a small tail. “Empoleon” he let out his battle cry, letting us know that this was his show now. So what move was I going to use. Swagger would be a good choice, but Brine would be too. Still i dont want to KO; him so I’m going to use Swagger on it.

“Okay, Empoleon use your Swagger attack on Slugma!”

Empoleon looked at me then gave me a nod. then he started doing some weird stuff as if was trying to dance then I took a closer look and his eyes were glowing a sky blue color.
