NBP#1

Alpha held up a small piece of paper in front of his face. "Ryan Hoare," he read what was written on the paper. His right hand rested below his head, he was lying down on the soft moist grass outside the ranger outpost. He was already changed to his ranger outfit, and he already needed to wait for the trainer to pass by in his face and say "Hey, I'm your trainer."

"Man, this is boring." Alpha got up quickly and stared intently at the clear blue sky. Dozens of Flying-typed Pokemon soared high in the sky, freely to move on their own and went to wherever they wanted to go. Behind the birds were thin cirrus clouds that spiraled at a center point in the sky. "Beautiful," Alpha whispered to himself.

Alpha tried to reminisce the past; the times where he took different kinds of trainers, experienced different kinds of adventures, encountered different kinds of Pokemon, and sometimes he even made friends with the trainer that he escorted. One thing he liked to do as a ranger was to give advices to trainers, especially new ones, in case they would encounter an incredibly strong Pokemon. There had been cases that the trainer acted wrong because they forgot to put their Pokemon's nature into priority before attacking. Result? Some commands the trainer made were ignored by their Pokemon and proceeded to either attacking on their own, or skipping the attack at all.

"Alpha, do you hear me?" a voice broke Alpha's daydreams. He grabbed his cellphone and knew that a voice message interrupted him at that instant. "I repeat: Alpha, do you hear me?" the voice said it again.

"Yeah, I hear you. I know the routine already. I'll PM you once the trainer gets here." Alpha turned off his phone and laid his body down on the grassy fields outside the ranger outpost again, continuing to wait for the trainer.

Ryan Hoare wandered slowly down the path to the rangers outpost near the Botanic Gardens. HGe was skipping with delight, this would be the day his gym got to new Pokémon, or at least, thats what he was hoping. Ferrothorn and Durant. Of course, he was aiming to catch a Ferroseed as they would be much easier to snag.

As he wandered down the path, he saw a young man relaxing on the grass, in the process of turning off his phone.

Ryan went up to the man and asked him, “Do you know where the trainers outpost is, My names Ryan Hoare and I’m looking for my ranger?”

 

Hey guys, you're a little bit early off the mark. Pman hasn't waited his full week, so he shouldn't be on another expedition just yet. He needs to wait another day and a bit.

I'll remove / edit this post accordingly when he's able to start his run. Until then, no posts in here please.

EDIT: For clarity, forgot to say that the end-time of a run is when the Ranger posts in the Claims thread. This misunderstanding might have happened because that wasn't known. Still, I believe you both were told multiple times.

No harm no foul, though. Good to see people enthusiastic about the Park ^^

 

Didn't realise it was ranger, thought it was me...which would have freed me up today (by which I mean within 5 hours of me posting looking for a ranger) (which is when I expected it claimed)

NBP#2

"Do you know where the trainers outpost is, My name's Ryan Hoare and I’m looking for my ranger?" a young man approached Alpha as he got outside of the building.

"Oh, you must be my trainer!" Alpha greeted the trainer quickly. "Since you came here quickly, we'll proceed to your destination as soon as possible. Please follow me to my vehicle." Alpha added, as he led the trainer to his ranger vehicle so that he could bring him to the Botanic Garden.

Passing vast landscapes and large mountains, they reached a place where the sun was at its hottest. A vast meadow was in front of them, with lots of plants that stood out from different pots, just a few blocks away from where Alpha stopped the vehicle. Stepping one foot out then the other, Alpha released a heavy sigh and looked at the trainer, who just got out from the vehicle.

"Well, we're here. This is the Botanic Gardens." Alpha looked at the silent trainer, seemed to be amazed with the place.

"Sentret!" A brown tail popped out in one of the small bushes beside the vehicle. It eventually jumped and scared the jeebers out of Alpha.

"Well now, if it isn't your first encounter. Whatcha gonna do with it?" Alpha looked at the trainer.

Ryan looked in stunned amazement around the meadow. This was completely different to the woods where he had spent his only other trip through the park.

Ryan almost jumped when Alpha asked him, "Well now, if it isn't your first encounter. Whatcha gonna do with it?"

Ryan knew exactly what he was going to do. “I’d like to purchase a pokédoll please.”

As Alpha rumbled around for a pokédoll to throw at the Sentret, Ryan also pulled some things out of his backpack. A small disk player and six disks, He riffled through the disks till he found one labelled “Ferroseed”.

Ryan placed this disk into the player as Alpha threw a pokédoll at the Sentret.

NBP#3

"I'd like to purchase a Pokedoll please." Ryan took his wallet and got five dollars.

"Its a good thing I prepared Pokedolls before hand." Alpha reached to his bag to grab one Pokedoll and tossed it to the Sentret, grabbing Ryan's money as well. The Sentret ran and chased the doll that went deeper into the gardens. After a few walks, they reached a stone arch, but Ryan can't help but bother to grab his Pokeplayer and one of his disks. "Ferroseed," Alpha read, looking at a small label on the disk.

Ryan placed the disk into the player and waited for a Ferroseed to come out of the blue. The Ferroseed's cry kept on repeating, thanks to the player. It did nothing but irritate Alpha for the continuous cries that the player makes.

"Combee!" A yellow bug came approaching Alpha and Ryan. It had three yellow hexagons connected with one another, and an antenna on two of the yellow hexagons. It looked like a small honey comb. Combee rushed towards Ryan, looking annoyed.

"Well, well, well, you may not get a Ferroseed.. but you got something else, eh?" Alpha got time to joke.

Ryan wasn’t in the park for a Combee so he let it pass, even though he could probably get some gain from it. “Another pokédoll thanks Alpha”

The disk player continued to play as Ryan handed over another 5 dollars and watched the combee sit down to play with its brand new toy.

Ryan was determined to get at least one of the two Pokémon he came for, or maybe just some good money in pictures. Both would be nice. At least he was being efficient in his park run so far, quickly dispatching of unwanted Pokémon.

NBP#4

"Another pokédoll thanks Alpha." Ryan gave another set of money at Alpha. He grabbed another spare Pokedoll on his bag and threw it at the charging Combee. Upon seeing the doll, it followed the doll and went away.

While both of them are waiting for what they would do, Ryan played his Ferroseed disk again. So far they've waited for a Ferroseed to come out and respond to Ryan's player, but nothing was happening.

"This is getting boring, we should get deeper inside the gardens," Alpha insisted, leading Ryan to a small place that looked a lot like Stonehedge. There were stone pillars that rose from the ground, while at the tip of each stone pillar was a wooden trail that connected each stone pillar with one another. Vines grabbed hold of these wooden paths and added beauty to the garden itself.

Beside the stone pillars were ornamental pots and vases that each contained unique sets of flowers. Alpha noticed that one of these flowers looked strange, so he decided to approach it carefully.

"Dew!" the strange plant revealed itself to Alpha and Ryan. It had a small green body and a bud on the top of its body.

"Neat, a Budew." Alpha looked at Ryan.

Alpha lead Ryan through the park for a small distance, the poképlayer playing all the while. They came across a small stone circle, somewhat like Stonehenge. Surrounding the stone circle was a ring of pot plants. One plant looked rather odd however. As Alpha approached the plant it said “Dew.”

Apparently the plant was actually a Pokémon, and not one Ryan was interested in. He hoped Alpha had lots of pokédolls in his pack as it appeared they would need them.

Alpha seemed to think that the budew was neat. Ryan didn’t agree.

“I’ll have yet another of those pokédolls thanks.”

Ryan was growing impatient. As he threw the doll, he flicked the switch on the poképlayer to keep it playing.

NBP#5

"I’ll have yet another of those pokédolls thanks." Alpha was already prepared for what Ryan would say. He tossed a Pokedoll he was already grabbing when Budew quickly followed it away from Alpha and Ryan. He sat and waited for Ryan to play his Pokeplayer, which he did as Alpha predicted.

"Kangaskhan!" a large voice boomed from afar.

Alpha immediately stood from where he sat, terrified of the Kangaskhan that appeared before them. "I'll prepare the Pokedoll," he teased Ryan as he searched through his bag.

The Kangaskhan was tempting, very tempting. Ryan felt like there was bound to be someone who could and would use it. Still, it would eat up time in the park and alpha was already getting out a pokédoll. Still, he hadn’t seen many around so maybe it would just sit there in his PC doing nothing.

Ryan had to laugh at alpha teasing him about spamming pokédolls, still he replied in a slightly forlorn voice, “Yeah, throw another one of those blasted dolls. I really want to encounter one of the Pokémon I brought disks for. Maybe the next Pokémon will be a good one.”

As he said this, Ryan reached down a flicked the switch on the poképlayer, he would continue to search for a ferroseeed.

NBP#6

"Yeah." Alpha didn't even let pman finish his sentence--he totally ignored him and tossed the Pokedoll towards Kangaskhan. As the doll went somewhere away from them, and led deeper in the gardens, the large Pokemon followed the doll until it was gone from their sights.

Ryan continued to sit down and quietly play the disk for a Ferroseed, confident that he would encounter one soon enough.

"Vine," a voice hissed from behind them. It was a large green snake-like Pokemon that had small feet near its tail.

"Servine, huh." Alpha looked at Ryan.

“Servine, hey” Said Ryan. Then he thought for about 3 seconds. “I can buy one of these if I want one so catching one in here is a waste of time and effort.”

“I’m sure you know what I’m going to do by now, here’s another 5 dollars.”

Ryan was getting sick of encountering rubbish. Maybe he’d meet something cool soon. This time as he sat down to flick the switch that kept the poképlayer playing, he also prayer out loud. Maybe turning to God would get him a favourable result. And besides, the cry of the Ferroseed was really starting to grate on his nerves.

"I’m sure you know what I’m going to do by now, here’s another 5 dollars." Alpha sighed and grabbed another PokeDoll from his bag, then tossed it towards the approaching green snake. His butt was already aching from sitting at the stony platform for a few minutes already as Ryan kept playing the Ferroseed disk.

"Girafarig," a voice came from one of the large bushes.

A yellow giraffe-like Pokemon approached the two who were sitting on the cold stones. Alpha just had to look at Ryan silently.

Now came Ryan’s first big decision, he was sure he would be able to trade Girafarig for something good. Maybe this was the Pokémon to catch, maybe it wasn’t. It was decision time.

If he was going to catch it, Ryan would do so quickly; no time would be wasted stalling and being careful not to knock the Girafarig out, which could come later when he really wanted the Pokémon that he encountered.

But still, Ryan had to weigh up the risk Vs reward. Was it likely that he would encounter a Pokémon such as Munchlax, probably not? It was therefore worth the time and effort of attempting a capture.

This was why Ryan reached down to the Pokéballs at his waist and selected one with the letters “TF2” engraved upon it. I was time for Team Forretress Two to do his thing.

As he was sent into battle, the Forretress looked around confused for a few seconds before quickly realising why it was there. Any damage it took now would come in useful later on down the track of a battle.

The Forretress knowing exactly why it was there began to change its eye colour to a sinister red. It was using lock on to greatly increase the odds that it’s first attack would hit and do its job.

That first Attack was Zap Cannon, as such, sparks began to jump around the body of Team Forretress Two quite erratically, at first, they did so spasmodically but slowly built up to a regular frequency that was rather fast.

Then, The Forretress launched the building electricity in the direction of the Girafarig.

Ryan, who was watching his well trained Pokémon battle almost laughed out loud. Team Forretress and himself were almost always on the same page when it came to battling.

Ryan just had to hope that the Attack would hit and paralyse the Girafarig.

 

Girafarig BP#1

Without any other words, Ryan threw a Pokeball in the air. A white light emerged out from it and formed a large purple shell that laid on the floor peacefully.

Forretress suddenly created a large green ball in front of its large body. The green ball had colorful lines circling inside it. Small yellow static sparks suddenly appeared on the green ball. "What's it gonna do?" Alpha wondered, continuing to watch Forretress execute its commands all by itself. Immediately it was ready to launch the attack to the stagnant giraffe.

Girafarig, on the other hand, created a small white sphere by telepathy using its two white antenna-like horns on its head. When the sphere was large enough, it turned into a colorful beam of light that made its way to fight the attack Forretress executed. The two attacks finally collided and formed a small explosion between the two Pokemon.

"Recoil will be made," Alpha predicted. He was right, both monsters that were fighting experienced at least a bit of damage and was backed off by the small explosion.

Ryan looked at the results of the first action of the battle, nothing major had happened, at least not yet. Both combatants had taken some damage in the explosion as their attacks had collided. This wouldn’t help now but might come in handy further down the track, when fighting the pokemon that Ryan was here to catch.

Ryan decided it was time to give some help to Team Forretress Two, maybe give it a pointer in the correct direction.

“Use poison this time Team Forretress Two.”

The Forretress began to build up bile in the back of its throat, thinking horrible thoughts as it did so, imbibing the poison with everything horrible ithe had to offer.

Then the forretress spat the toxic purple gunk at the Girafarig, using toxic, as he had done, would make the Girafarig much easier to catch further down the track.

Every action Ryan made from here on in would be focused on catching this pokemon.

 

Girafarig BP#2

"Use poison this time Team Forretress Two." Alpha immediately wondered what the trainer meant, seeing as there was no move called "Poison" at all--at least he thought that Ryan meant Toxic. Forretress retrieved itself inside its shell and prepared itself to secrete combine toxins from its body to create a purple sludge towards Girafarig.

Girafarig, on the other hand, prepared itself before the Forretress could release its Toxic to Girafarig. The tail on its back stood upright and glowed with a greenish-white color. Suddenly, Girafarig was enclosed in a green, crystalized barrier that could protect itself from status-inducing moves.

"This isn't a good sign," Alpha said to Ryan, hoping the best for him.

Forretress just came out from its shell as it spat the purple goo at Girafarig. The Toxic attack didn't manage to penetrate through Girafarig's Safeguard. While it was cloacked in its barrier, Girafarig tried to ram its head on Forretress with a nice Tackle attack. It bumped its head into Forretress' steel body, managing to move it back a little bit.
