Gaius was going to talk her ear off. He was going to talk her bloody ear off. Aleria wanted to get some ear plugs. Shame the park shop didn't sell them. She would have invested in some after this run with Gaius. Happiest moment of her life would've been buying those ear plugs. Instead, the happiest moment of her life would be getting the hell away from Gaius. He just wouldn't shut up. Duck tape would have been useful too. She could just wrap that around his mouth a few hundred times, and he'd be quiet until he managed to peel it off of his head. Except he wouldn't be able to give commands to his Pokemon if he wanted to catch something.

She was just going to have to deal with it. Him and his non-stop complaining and babbling. There were only a few more encounters left for him.

Her smile faded away, and Al could have sworn she was hearing things when she heard Gaius say sorry. Aleria didn't even think that was in his vocabulary. 'If you've already got three Pokemon, why the hell are you here?' she thought, nodding. No Kakuna, fine by her. Less time with him, the happier she was. With a shrug, she started to walk past the Kakuna, but she stopped when she felt a stringy substance that was not on her arm five seconds ago. Looking up at the Kakuna, she could see in its black eyes that it had just used String Shot on her. Aleria frowned as she wiped the stringy substance off of her arm and onto the forest floor. "I think the Kakuna wants to play."

Gaius yelled, almost in a fit of rage. "Seriously for frack's sake, why are all of these Pokemon obsessed with wanting to stick around and play with me. I obviously don't want them, yet they are too foolish to take no for an answer. Why don't they just act like they have an actual shred of intelligence and leave me be! I've never known even beggars to be this persistent. Those people I can at least call the police on and have them arrested for vagrancy, I wish I could do the same with these pathetic half-wits. These clingy Pokemon have wasted my time, my money, and my patience. Seriously, I wish I could just take the time to knock all of them out for the next week, so I know they won't bother any other trainer who's actually wanting to catch something useful at the time. Normally, I'd want a Kakuna, but at the exact time when I don't want one, guess who fraking shows up?" Gaius paused for a split second and then shouted the next word. "Kakuna, of course that's who comes! Furthermore, guess who doesn't have a brain cell at all in its head to actually realize when I want it gone? Kakuna, that's right! This trend of stupid Pokemon not leaving me alone has gotten more than just on my nerves, it's gotten under them, under my skin, and even within my very soul, causing me to just want to eliminate every last pathetic one of them!" Gaius huffed for a few seconds, as he began to regain his breath.

"Did you know that most of your job as a park stewardess would be giving stupid cute dolls to Pokemon that were too dense to know to leave trainers alone when they're unwanted? Do you actually like this part of your job, knowing that you get to increase park revenue by raising clingy and people-dependent Pokemon? I guess, in a way, you're just like the Officer Jenny's who write tickets for minor law violations. However, in this case, you're making me pay for my own proverbial restraining order against clingy Pokemon. I can't even begin to figure out how much money I'll waste in future park expeditions if all of the Pokemon in this park are as pathetically clingy as the ones I've encountered today. Just take the five-hundred dollars and let me leave this stupid Pokemon alone. I don't want a Kakuna right now, and, of course, you're able to lead me to one. This is just perfect, really, just so ironic." Gaius shook his head at Aleria, thoroughly frustrated at having to buy another Pokemon doll.

'I hope to god that this is the last time I have to waste more money on one of those stupid dolls. They really need to teach Pokemon how to not act like they are joined at the hip to Pokemon trainers. If any of my Pokemon acted like this, I'd severely chastise them for their weakness. I can only hope that I don't run into any overly attached Pokemon for the rest of the day, otherwise my head may explode.' Gaius stood for a few moments, waiting for Aleria to toss the Pokedoll.

Aleria snatched the money from Gaius as soon as he held it out to her and shoved it into her bag. She grabbed the first PokeDoll she saw, a Beedrill ironically enough, and threw it at the ground beneath Kakuna in a fit of rage. The cocoon Pokemon used String Shot on the doll, and Gaius would be left alone now by the stupid cocoon. If only Aleria could do the same thing.

Instead, she decided to snappily reply to his onslaught of questions as they walked on. "Yes, I was aware I'd be dishing out PokeDolls a lot during runs with trainers. It's in the job description. Since you seem to have such a problem with it, I recommend not becoming a ranger. I don't really enjoy dishing out PokeDolls, no, but it's part of the job, so I deal with it. Is that all of your questions?" Aleria replied snappily. If she could throw a PokeDoll at Gaius' head, she would have. She really honestly would have. Her job would be on the line. He'd been threatening to go to the Head Ranger for the past few minutes now, and Aleria just couldn't have Gaius telling the Head Ranger that she'd thrown a PokeDoll or two at his head. She'd get fired faster than she could even say PokeDoll.

They came across a Nincada next, and Aleria would have stepped on the poor thing had she not seen it when she did. She threw her arms up in exasperation. Gaius wouldn't want this either. "Do you want a stupid Nincada?" she asked, annoyance evident in her tone. As a side note, she added, "and a simple yes or no will suffice! I don't need to hear the story about how easy or how common or whatever it is to catch the Pokemon in Hoenn or whatever other stupid region there is!"

Gaius turned to Aleria. "Just because it's in the job description, doesn't mean it's something you should actually have to do on a regular basis. Police officers killing people is in their job description, but they usually don't have to do that on a regular basis. Besides, why would anyone actually want to ever become a ranger? The only thing that separates a tour guide or flight attendant from a ranger is a different title. You actually don't need to have much of any skill with Pokemon, you don't appreciate battles. The only things you care about are being nice to Pokemon and weakening them by giving them food out of the palm of your hand. You're a bunch of glorified zoo keepers, and your only main duty is to show trainers new areas to catch Pokemon, and also to make sure they aren't stupid enough to destroy the park. Speaking of destroying the park, how often is anyone so stupid to actually destroy a large amount of park land? It doesn't seem like an easy thing someone could accidentally do. Although I honestly don't give two hoots about keeping your park safe, I want to get what I paid for, and that means the full expedition experience. That can't very well happen if I get escorted out of the park, though, so until I leave I know to be on my best behavior." Gaius paused for a moment to think, and then he continued speaking.

"Why did you want to become a Park ranger? Not cute enough for a flight attendant or a ship stewardess? Did you actually like Pokemon enough to want to spend time with them, but just weren't smart enough to actually become an advanced trainer on your own? Perhaps this is the only job you could get, and your little mommy or daddy is friends with the head ranger? Whatever your reason is, I know that you are far less of a trainer than I am, furthermore, I know that there is no way that you could ever actually beat me in a Pokemon battle. You women-folk just aren't cut out for being anything in the Pokemon workforce besides nurses or physical therapists. Speaking of therapists, you could probably use one to work out some of your inferiority issues that you must be suffering from as a result of being around me for so long. I know it's not my intention, but I am just so grand compared to the average commoner, aren't I?" Gaius laughed, and then continued to speak.

"Has a Meowth got your tongue? I notice you haven't been talkative as of late. Hopefully my incredible Pokemon battling skills haven't rendered you speechless, or, perhaps, you would just be better off shutting up and not getting in my way. I don't want any bumbling lack of understanding on your part to compromise one of my captures. I'm still eager to see what other kinds of Pokemon you have here. If I'm lucky I won't be subjected to any low-class, weak, store-bought Pokemon like before. Although, given your expertise so far, I'm betting those are some pretty low odds. I'll just be happy to see something better than anything that I've captured so far, although that isn't even saying much, considering I've had to capture the best of the mediocre offering that's been provided to me thus far." Gaius stopped talking when he saw a Nincada.

"See, this is a prime example. Once again, you've led me to a bottom-of-the-barrel Pokemon. Nincada is from the Hoenn region, and it evolves into Ninjask. At least you got the Pokemon's region of origin right, or was that just a random guess on your part? Don't feel bad if it was, I'm surprised someone as smart as you can even remember the region you come from, let alone the names of any other region. Nincada is a thoroughly useless Pokemon. Ninjask doesn't have any strong attacks, and, although I get a Shedinja for free when Nincada evolves, Shedinja is nothing more than a fun collectible Pokemon. With it's incredibly low hit points, even one attack from any super-effective move against a Shedinja will knock it out." Gaius stopped for a second, and then turned back towards Aleria. "Do you even know what move types are super-effective against Shedinja?" Gaius laughed, and then began to walk towards Aleria. "Let's get going, I don't want to spend more time with this foolish Pokemon than I have to. Your lack of skill as a ranger has already introduced me to more useless Pokemon than I can count on one hand."

'Shoot. Me. Now. Please,' Aleria thought as she watched the Nincada scamper away. Clearly it was afraid of Gaius. Smart Pokemon. Really smart. If Aleria were a cute Fire type Pokemon, she would've hightailed it in the other directions ages ago. If only she could be like McGonagall and become a cat, except Pokemon style. With a sigh, she spoke up, ignoring Gaius' speech. His words bored her now, and honestly, if he kept his mouth shut beyond 'yes, I want to catch this' and 'no, let's keep going,' Aleria would be happy. "Let's go. You're giving me a headache." Al wondered if the park shop sold aspirin. She was going to need some by the time she was through with this guy.

The bushes off to the side started to rustle, and Aleria stopped. 'Please Arceus, let this be a good Pokemon. Please,' she thought as a red cricket stumbled out of the bushes. It peered up at Aleria, who frowned. 'Arceus has to hate me...' she concluded as she glanced at Gaius. 'He's not even going to want this. Ugh, I hate my life. Here we go again...' And she forced the question she was dreading out of her mouth. "You want a Kricketot or no?"

Gaius turned to Aleria and scowled. "I'm giving you a headache, really? Well that's surprising considering you apparently haven't been listening to anything I've been saying for the last few minutes now. I didn't know it was accepted practice for a ranger to completely ignore the trainer, I wonder if that's actually an allowed protocol in your ranger training. Well, even if it is, I would think it's a bad practice. What if I've actually been asking important Park related questions, and you ignored something crucial when it was important? How would you actually know if something was important or not, unless you were actually listening. Furthermore, how would you like it if you were talking to a person that you were leading on an expedition, and they kept ignoring you. That wouldn't make you feel good, now, would it? Maybe you actually like to be ignored when you're talking, although I doubt you ever actually have anything important enough to say, anyway. Either way, I'd appreciate it if you actually paid attention to me, and responded to what I say, instead of just brushing me off like some piece of dirt. Remember your boss that I kept mentioning that I might go see when I'm done here? Well, the more you ignore me makes it infinitely more likely for that to happen. I wonder how 'willful ignoring of a park guest' will look on your ranger performance review, or whatever kind of review you rangers have to go through to see if you're still as useless as pond-scum or not. I would also love to write a lengthy response to this park run, saying how not only did Aleria lead me to mostly sub-par Pokemon, she also began to ignore me halfway through the expedition, leading to a completely unfavorable park run experience. I would also then add that I am thoroughly unlike to ever come back here, and, would instead, check out other parks which actually are quite better than this one." Gaius began to glance around, looking to try and find a Pokemon. Seeing none, he continued to speak.

"Speaking of Pokemon, I haven't seen any for a few minutes. I would hope that your park doesn't suddenly have a shortage or anything. I know I'm guaranteed to see at least three more Pokemon, so, I'm not leaving until I get what I paid for. Hopefully you aren't scaring all of the Pokemon away with your looks, although I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Perhaps it's that all of the Pokemon around here can smell your weakness, and they have no interest in what they think is a weak Pokemon trainer. If only they knew the stench of weakness and uselessness was coming from the park ranger, and not the trainer that was trying to capture them. How did they even let you become a park ranger, considering your overall weakness with regards to Pokemon? With your overly-nurturing personality, you should have just become a Pokemon doctor, or something like that. Were you not smart enough to actually become a doctor, though? Well, if you weren't smart enough for that, I assume this had to be an available option, although this is pretty low on the job totem poll. What were your other possible job opportunities? Janitor at a Pokemon Center, or maybe even Pokemon Mart cashier? I wouldn't feel bad if you had to choose between the three. There are millions of people in the world who are forced to live low-paying, menial lives so that those in high society have those that they can step on. Perhaps if you were a bit prettier you could have been waitress, although, god knows anyone would switch tables if they saw you walking towards them in a restaurant with the way you look right now. Honestly, I'm sure some make-up would do wonders for your drab appearance. Or is looking that horrid a requirement of being a ranger, so you don't make female trainers jealous. Although, I don't know how there's anyway that someone could be jealous of you. Maybe if you were about twenty pounds less, and actually had a totally different face, then at least it would be possible." Gaius laughed deeply, and looked at Aleria.

After a moment, he then noticed a small bush rustling off of the side of the road. A small, red, cricket Pokemon jumped out of the bushes. 'What kind of Pokemon is this? It doesn't look powerful at all, but it might actually be somewhat powerful. Let's see what my cell phone application says.' Gaius quickly typed in 'Kricketot' into his phone, and read off the data. 'Hm..it evolves into Krickitune, and its a bug type. His attacks and statistics are all below noteworthy. It pains me that such pathetic Pokemon exist. Who knows who would actually want them'. Gaius sighed, and looked at Aleria.

"Seriously, you've led me to another pathetic Pokemon, when will this string of bad luck end? I thought that three in a row would beat some sort of park record, but four in a row? Do you guys even have anything good left in the park, or did you not get your shipment in this month?" Gaius shook his head at the red Pokemon. "Can we please just leave it alone, and hopefully this idiotic Pokemon won't try to follow me like the others have." Gaius turned to try and walk away from the Pokemon

She was tuning him out again. Here he was, going on another speech, this time about how Aleria was ignoring him and insulting her more and complaining about the park some more. That was what this run had consisted of: insults, complaints, and ignoring an obnoxious, arrogant, jackass trainer. Because in Aleria's eyes, that's what Gaius was: an obnoxious, arrogant, jackass trainer. She wished there was a donkey Pokemon that she could compare Gaius to, but unfortunately, one hadn't been discovered yet. But when one was discovered, and if she ever had to do a gift exchange with this git, he'd be getting one donkey Pokemon as his Secret Delibird.

    Hopefully that time didn't come.

And now he was rejecting the bloody Kricketot, giving her another long, drawn out explanation of why he didn't want such a pathetic and useless Pokemon. Honestly, Aleria would be so much happier if he'd just kept it short and sweet. If he'd just said yes or no, and he'd buy a Poke Doll if he had to, then this run would be so much nicer, so much smoother, and so much more headache free. But no. Gaius had to be a bloody difficult trainer.

"Maybe if you weren't so freakin' arrogant and didn't insult me every five seconds, I'd actually be willing to talk to you. Get off your high horse, man. You're not better than me," Aleria retorted. "And besides, I don't look at power in my Pokemon, and I sure as hell don't blame them for stupid mistakes I make like you do!" She clenched and unclenched her fists in an attempt to calm herself. "Go tell my boss that I've been ignoring you and whatnot! I don't care. I'm sure the Head Ranger would laugh in your face if she heard your complaint. 'Oh, there's not enough strong and powerful Pokemon in your park.' or 'Oh, I only saw one or two rare Pokemon in your park,' which would probably make her piss her pants laughing, or 'Oh, woe is me because I insulted my ranger and she started ignoring me and got ticked off, so she started mocking me.' Is that what you're going to say to her? Maybe you're scaring the Pokemon off with your stupid attitude! It wouldn't surprise me, to be honest."

As she spoke, the Kricketot had slipped off back into the bushes, much to Aleria's pleasure. Now she could get going with this run, and hopefully find one more Pokemon for Gaius, something good maybe, that would make him shut the heck up and so he'd leave. "Oh, by the way," she said as she started to walk again, leading Gaius to what could hopefully be a good Pokemon. "I don't know if you're aware, but you probably are since you think you're holier than thou and you seem to know everything about everything in the world, but if you catch another Pokemon, you have to give up one of the ones you've already caught. I hope you're willing to do that, otherwise you're just gonna be wasting a ball on what could possibly be a really good catch. I'm just sayin', and also making you aware of the rules, because guess what? That's part of my seemingly stupid job."

She stopped when she saw the pile of leaves on the ground. Her eyes scanned the area, but they darted back to a white and red furred Pokemon. Zangoose. A grin was on its white furred face, and Aleria could see it was the type of Pokemon to make traps. She looked over at Gaius. This had to be his kind of Pokemon. Zangoose were amazing Pokemon. Aleria would've had one by now if she didn't have other Pokemon to worry about. It was pretty much a badass. If Gaius didn't want this Pokemon, she was going to flip shit. Literally. "You want this Zangoose? Because if you don't want this, I have no idea what the hell to tell you because something tells me it's not gonna get better than this since you already rejected a Nidoking and caught a Lickilicky, and those two on their own are pretty high up on the park ranks."

Gaius watched Kricketot as it ran away. 'Good, I would hate to waste more money on a stupid Pokemon doll. If that Pokemon was just as stupid as the others I rejected, I would probably start tearing my hair out. I just hope I can see something worthwhile. I've already captured three Pokemon, but if I see something more interesting and more powerful, then I guess I should catch it, and then release ne of my other Pokemon. I like what I have already, but still, if I am able to get a better Pokemon, it would be totally worth it. I really hope I run into a Scyther. That would be one of the best things I could see here, but knowing Aleria, I bet she scared all of the Scythers before anyway. Still, though, there is no harm in hoping, right?'

The trainer then realized that Aleria was speaking, so he turned to listen to her. When she was done speaking, he responded. "Arrogance is when someone only believes themselves to be better than others. I know I am better than you, yet you choose to call it arrogance as a way to soothe your fragile self-worth. If you truly knew anything about me, you would know that I am infinitely better than you, and, furthermore, that you have no hope of ever beating me in a Pokemon battle. Currently, I'm undefeated in terms of Pokemon battles against trainers. You have no hope against me, and you never will. If you don't care about power in your Pokemon, then you have already been defeated in your life as a Pokemon trainer. Power and strength are everything in Pokemon battles. The more strength you have, and the more variety of moves that you have, the more likely that you can defeat your opponents. Friendship or love have no say in Pokemon battles, they only hold you back in competitions. I'm not surprised that someone as pathetic as you would have such a weak outlook on Pokemon. If you ever want to succeed, you have to be purely merciless. That is what will forever separate those who are strong, and those who are trampled underfoot. Any weak Pokemon don't deserve to exist in this world, they should be forced to evolve and become strong, or they will be lost in a battle for survival of the fittest. Trainers like you should get used to battling with strong Pokemon, as in a perfect world only those strong Pokemon will survive." Gaius paused for a moment, and then continued speaking.

"Regarding the minor problems that occurred earlier, as I said even then, no matter how skilled I am, and no matter how powerful I am, I am capable of making some mistakes. If I was unable to make a mistake, I would not actually be a human, as I would be completely infallible, as if I were a god. However, my Pokemon also the blame, as they themselves should also know what they are capable of, and they should know what moves I meant if they were more in-sync with my thoughts and their own abilities. That is their own weakness, and they shall be punished for it at another time. Until then, I can only hope that they learn how to battle properly so that they can defeat any opponent they come across. I will make absolutely sure that they learn the costs of failure, so that they know to never, ever fail me again. If you were actually harsh with your Pokemon, they learn obedience and respect, and then therefore they are not lackadaisical and weak like your Pokemon probably are. I bet your Pokemon aren't even properly trained in battle, probably more concerned with those contests that you spoke so highly of before. Pitiful weakness like that is what is ruining the Pokemon in the world." Gaius shook his head, and then continued to speak.

"I will be sure to tell your boss much more than that, you foolish little child. Your overall weakness and pathetic failings as a ranger have made this entire park run a waste of time. I've only run into either useless Pokemon or Pokemon that I have already. I haven't seen much of anything in the way of rare Pokemon, and half of the Pokemon that I've ran away from are so stupid that, instead of knowing they're not wanted, decide to stick around. Those clingy, weak Pokemon have cost me tons of money since I entered the park, something that I was not at all expecting. I wonder if you train your Pokemon to be clingy, so that you guys can monopolize on those Pokedolls. Honestly I wouldn't think that would be beyond what you guys would do, especially since all of the items in your park shop cost a large amount. Are you guys just not making enough on items that you need to train your guys to stick around forever? I wonder how your boss will respond to that accusation. If you push me far enough, I will also mention that, yes, you ignored me, mocked me, made fun of my mistakes, and made my run experience unsatisfactory. There is a common phrase that is associated with almost every business, that the customer is always right. In this instance, I am the customer, and therefore, it is your job to be courteous, kind, respectful, and helpful to me in any way I need whatsoever, regardless of what I say or how you may disagree with my actions or beliefs. If you were working in a department store, would you question me on my choice of a purchase if you did not agree with the brand of item that I chose to buy? If I decided to berate you because of a mistake that you made in a restaurant or a store, that would simply be a part of having a job that interacts with the public. You should just get used to the fact that if you mess up in your job, you will be insulted and berated for your failings. If you were not ready for dealing with the consequences of your pathetic failures, perhaps you should rethink your decision to be a ranger, or being in any public job. Were you so diluted to think that the public at large will be accepting of your small, quaint park with your minute selection of Pokemon that are worth spending money to capture? The Pokemon that I've encountered on this park run have mostly been weak and pathetic. The Pokemon that I've decided to capture were only the best out of the menial, bottom-of-the-barrel pickings that the park had to offer. I am seriously appalled that I have only met one seriously worthy, strong Pokemon. However, as you do, I hope, remember, that was Nidoking, and I already own a Nidoking. Per your statement of me scaring the Pokemon off, it makes no sense for you to be nonsensical. There is no reason for you to lie to yourself in order to make yourself feel better. Pokemon, as well as other animals, can smell weakness. They can smell your weakness a mile away, hence they don't want to be associated with a weak trainer. If, on the other hand, you were a Pokemon, you'd probably be pounced upon within five minutes of entering the woods." Gaius smiled and laughed, and then listened to what Aleria said next.

"Yes, I am perfectly well aware that if I decide to capture another Pokemon, I will have to release one of the ones that I have already captured. I also know that you can only capture up to four Pokemon in the Enigma Ruins, which, obviously, we are not in. There is no need to be condescending just because you know I am more intelligent than you. You are, right, however, I do know most things about the park, and made sure to read up on many things before I even decided to enter. I could probably even teach you a few things, as we both know you've been less than stellar as a ranger thus far. But, I assume there is some hope for you, yet. You could always go back to ranger school and read up on the procedures and park encyclopedia book if you are having trouble remembering how to do your only, small, menial job as tour guide. Speaking of being a tour guide, you should really actually show me some more varying sights around here. I've pretty much seen trees, trees, a stream, and then more trees. Is there anything else at all in this entire section of the park? I'm not exactly a fan of a completely green environment. If I didn't know better, I wouldn't be surprised if the sky turned green while I was in here." Gaius chuckled, and then continued to speak.

"Seriously, I've been hoping that I could run into a Pokemon that's actually worth my time, but so far everything here has been horrid. If I don't see anything else good by the end of the run, I will definitely have a talk with your boss. From what I've read in the advertizements you actually have rare Pokemon, but so far I've only really seen one common Pokemon's powerful evolved form. You better hope I find something decent, or I'll make sure you leave the park jobless by the time I exit the park myself." Gaius paused for a moment, as he could see a bush moving in front of them.

Gaius's eyes then switched to a large Pokemon with white fur and red stripes along its body. Judging by the Pokemon's looks, it was quite strong and was also quite clever. This was exactly the kind of Pokemon that Gaius wanted, one who could be both a powerhouse as well as quite clever enough to use advanced tactics in battle. 'I definitely need to capture this Pokemon, and I could probably let my Whismur go so I can capture him. Whismur is relatively easy to find in Hoenn. I can always just take a vacation there and try to find Whismur later. Let's see what the details of this Pokemon is all about. She said its name was Zangoose, right?' Gaius quickly looked at his phone, and read up all about the new Pokemon.

'Zangoose is a normal type Pokemon, and he comes from the Hoenn region, just like Whismur. Zangoose doesn't evolve at all, but it has a wide variety of moves. Some of its best moves are X-Scissor, Close Combat, Slash, and Crush Claw. It also has several defensive moves and boosting moves that can make it last even longer in battle. It also has very powerful statistics, and would be an amazing addition to my team. Let's try and capture this Pokemon.' Gaius reached onto his belt and pulled off a Pokeball. He then turned to Aleria.

"Zangoose is a powerful Pokemon, and this one is definitely intelligent and worthy of a place in my collection. I'm going to do what it takes to make it mine." Gaius then smiled, and turned towards the normal type Pokemon. "I'll probably have to use both of my Pokemon to be able to succeed in catching him, but overall it shouldn't be too hard for a trainer of my skill." Gaius grabbed Gengar's Pokeball and threw it into the air. "Pestilence, time to come forth and battle. Use your Hypnosis quickly to put that Zangoose to sleep, and then use Dream Eater to regain some health. I know you can win this battle if you succeed in hitting with Hypnosis. Just make sure it hits and everything will go excellent from there." Gaius waited for Gengar to exit from its ball and for it to attack Zangoose. He hoped that Gengar would be able to carry out his instructions correctly and win the battle.

Houndoom, or any of her other Fire types, could use Flamethrower on him. She could slam his face into a tree repeatedly until he went unconscious. She could drag him back to that stream and throw him in it and leave him there. She could just walk away. Violence was never the answer after all.

But no. The only thing keeping Aleria here right now was her job, the one she was a good ninety-nine point nine percent sure she wouldn't be losing even after Gaius' stupid little complaint to her boss about how she was "ignoring him" and how "the Pokemon in the park are weak and worthless." Please. "All Pokemon have potential to be strong," she said, voicing her thoughts. "But I suppose someone as narrow minded as you wouldn't realize that." She rolled her eyes. Pure example of a pathetic trainer, right here before her.

At least he was willing to catch the Zangoose, thank Arceus. Maybe after this, he'd leave. If he caught the Zangoose (which a part of her didn't want him to catch it just so that she could laugh at him as she escorted him out of the park), that would be four Pokemon, and as Mister High and Mighty apparently already knew, he could only take three Pokemon out of the park since he was in The Woods and not the Engima Ruins. Sucks to be him.

Gaius' Gengar returned to the field again, and he was lucky his Pokemon knew more than just Ghost type moves. Otherwise, he was going to be shit out of luck because Ghosts and Normal type Pokemon couldn't hit each other. Zangoose growled, but his growl got quieter as Gengar's eyes glowed and Zangoose slowly curled up in a ball and fell asleep. It was of no surprise to Aleria that Gaius was going for the Hypnosis and Dream Eater tactic. His Gengar was low on energy, and one wrong move or one really powerful blow from Zangoose, and Gengar would be knocked out; Aleria doubted Crobat would last any longer. So Gengar attached himself to the sleeping Zangoose and sapped his energy from the dreams of the sleeping Cat Ferret Pokemon.

And that was a fatal mistake. Pale green claws suddenly struck the Gengar, knocking him away from the sleeping Zangoose. Aleria grinned. "Looks like he knows Sleep Talk."

Gaius sighed and looked towards Aleria. He could tell what she was thinking, and frankly did not want to hear any of her "Pokemon have other uses" rhetoric. 'The only real use Pokemon have in this world is to serve the strong. The strong can then use them in battle or for whatever ends they desire. This is the nature of the world, and any who disagree are to foolish to see the truth of the world. Since I caught my Gengar, I've been going through Kanto, collecting Pokemon to add to my collection, grabbing Pokemon from those who were too weak to be allowed to be trainers. I know that if she and I ever met in battle I would crush her mercilessly, and unless she begged for mercy I would take one of her Pokemon as a trophy and leave her helpless and in tears. If only she knew the true extent of my power, she would be bowing at my feet. Unfortunately, this park is too public of a place to display my true abilities. I only wish I could use my abilities, it would make these Pokemon captures so much easier. I probably wouldn't have even needed to use my own Pokemon unless I deemed it necessary. Well, one can dream, I guess. Let's see if I can find a way to come out of this one with Zangoose. It would be ironic if I fail to capture it due to my Pokemon's weakness, I will remember to buy items to heal them so I can make them fighting fit in between battles if I ever decide to return to this wretched park. Despite the meager offerings in the woods, other portions of this island seem to have quite powerful Pokemon. I wish I had went there instead of here. I may have also been matched with a true Pokemon trainer as well, instead of this pathetic girl. Well, let's see what happens.'

Gaius heard Aleria addressing him, and turned away from the wild Zangoose to look at his ranger. 'Yeah, just like I thought. More of the same goody-two-shoes nonsense that she thinks to keep herself warm at night, instead of admitting the truth. People like her will never learn until someone forces them to.' He decided to once again speak his thoughts to her. "Pokemon can be enhanced, yes. If they are taught powerful moves or trained exclusively in the use of their latent powers. I make sure each and every one of my Pokemon undergo intense training, and any who fail to complete such training I deem useless. The only Pokemon that I ever wish to own are ones that can defeat any opponent, ones that show no mercy and are willing to go into battle despite impossible odds. Truly powerful Pokemon are devoid of any weakness, either physical or mental. They need to know that victory is life, and defeat should only be accepted when they have merely one breath remaining in their body. As long as a Pokemon is alive, it can continue to battle. When entering battle, my Pokemon are ready to sacrifice their lives to the cause, their lives are forfeit when they enter the battlefield, and they fight to regain that live, whatever the cost to anyone or anything around them. This is how I can raise such powerful Pokemon, when most other trainers are too weak or sentimental to breed pure fighting machines. In time such weakness will cost them dearly, and I only wish I could be there to witness each and every one of them fall due to their own naive ideals. I only hope you have enough sense to see the light before you, yourself lose everything you hold dear. Recant your weak views now, or continue to be pathetic at your own peril." Gaius laughed, and then continued to speak.

"I wonder if you will actually ever wise up to the truth of the World. Strength is at the basic of everything in life. Those who die are too weak to fight for their own life, and those who live on possess enough power to overcome whatever obstacles that are thrust in their way. Only those who are strong ever have a chance at survival, as those who are deemed weak by the majority are culled or left to die. When an animal is wounded, most animal species will leave the wounded individual behind to fend for itself. Furthermore, predators always try to target the weakest prey first, as they know that is the easiest target for them to capture and kill. In the grand scheme of life, who would you rather be, the strong predator who survives with a full stomach, or a weak and injured prey who ends up in some animals stomach? I know where I'd rather be, and that desire is what fuels everything I do." Gaius then turned away from Aleria and began to turn his attention back towards the Pokemon, so he could see how the battle unfolded.

Gaius watched as Gengar put the wild Zangoose to sleep, and then began to drain its energy. All seemed to be going well until the Zangoose struck Gengar with its claws, damaging the ghost Pokemon. 'No, damn it! How can it know Sleep Talk? How could I have not seen this possibility? Normally I would never let such a thing happen. I must need some rest, or something, I might have worn myself out with all of the battling that I've been doing. This puts a huge kink in my plans. I need to try and attack long-range, since most of Zangoose's attacks are close range. I can only hope that it stays asleep, and that it doesn't know any unexpected long-range moves. If it has any more surprises up its sleeve, I may not be able to win this battle. I need to think even better than I have been, make sure I plan for every possible eventuality. I must not lose, I will not ever allow myself to lose!'

Gaius quickly surveyed his surroundings, trying to come up with a plan. 'I know those leaves on the ground are probably some kind of trap that Zangoose laid to catch prey for it to eat, or to mess with unsuspecting trainers. I should try to somehow use that trap to my own advantage. If I use the Pokemon's own creation against it, it should help me turn the tide of battle before I even have to send my Crobat into battle. Ok, now, with that in mind, how can I accomplish that? I could use an attack against the Zangoose to weaken it, and then I could use Pestilence's Psychic attack to position the Zangose over the pile of leaves. I'm not exactly sure what kind of trap it is, but it most likely is a pit or hole that it dug. If I position the Pokemon over the pit, it'll fall in, and will be dealt damage! Ok, now just to order Pestilence to carry out my plan of attack.' Gaius paused, and then began to issue commands to his Pokemon.

"Pestilence, quickly use Focus Blast before it can wake up. Try to make sure you hit from a distance, so that any moves that it can use with Sleep Talk can't hit you. Zangoose mostly use close-range attacks, so keep that in mind during battle. After you launch your Focus Blast, use Psychic to move the Pokemon over that pile of leaves there." Gaius then pointed to the pile of leaves which he believed to be a trap. "I think that's some sort of pit that Zangoose dug for us to fall in. Use his own work to your advantage, and you can easily cripple him! I know you can do it, just move quickly, and make sure you don't miss with Focus Blast!" Gaius then waited for Gengar to carry out the trainer's order.

    Ranger Makina Auran

OOC: Taking this back over due to request.

    *~~~~~~~~~*

Makina trudged through the woods, silently cursing the current situation as she walked down the shaded trail. It hadn't been enough that she had the entire day start on a bad note thanks to her older sister; Serena had headed straight to the Park itself to place a complaint that one of their employees possessed 'dangerous Pokemon' and needed to have their license suspended. The entire situation had thankfully been defused, but not after one of the Elites themselves had to step in to clearly explain that all Pokemon used in the Park- both Trainer and Ranger- were closely monitored. The entire experience had been one giant headache, and had forced Makina to head back to the front gate to deal with the matter. With any luck, the Ranger that had replaced her was having no issues with either the Run or Trainer.

As if to invoke Murphy's Law, a short chime went off from Makina's cellphone, signaling a text message. The message was short, concise, and straight to the point: “Get over here. NOW. Before I throw him down a pit.”

So much for hoping at least one thing would go well today,” Makina grumbled, sending a short apology in reply and explaining that she was on her way. She had hoped that, as a new Trainer, the Run would go fairly uneventful. While she didn't know Aleria well, something must have seriously ticked off the Ranger if she was demanding a switch. Hoping that there wouldn't be hell to pay later at HQ, Makina quickened her pace.

About ten minutes later, she finally caught up to the group. Gaius was currently facing two Pokemon a few meters, a Zangoose and Gengar by the looks of it. While the former was currently sleeping away, judging from the fact that there was barely a scratch on it meant that it had either used Rest and was about to awaken or the latter had put it to sleep. Gengar, on the other hand, looked ragged and ready to collapse at any time. Lastly, there was Aleria- as soon as she saw Makina arrive, she wordlessly handed the other Ranger three Parkballs and briskly walked away.

If looks could kill...maybe I should take the long way back once this Run is over, Makina mused to herself, catching the absolutely livid look that Aleria had been sporting. Still, there was little she could do at the moment besides finish taking this Trainer through.

Pestilence, quickly use Focus Blast before it can wake up. Try to make sure you hit from a distance, so that any moves that it can use with Sleep Talk can't hit you. Zangoose mostly use close-range attacks, so keep that in mind during battle. After you launch your Focus Blast, use Psychic to move the Pokemon over that pile of leaves there,” Gaius explained to his Gengar, pointing over to an overly-noticeable stack of leaves off to the side.

Despite being worn out, Pestilence began to gather a moderate amount of sky-blue energy in front of him, gathering the mass into a sphere. Moments later, he fired the blast towards Zangoose's slumbering form. Due to being unable to dodge, the Cat Ferret Pokemon was struck dead-on and knocked back from the attack.

Unfortunately for Zangoose, the Pokemon was still deeply asleep even after taking a serious hit. It began to grumble in its sleep, fidgeting about before it let out an earth-shuddering Snore. Despite being a Ghost, the Gengar still shuddered from the minuscule damage as he temporarily phased out to defend himself.

As the attack finished, Pestilence readied his second attack. Reaching out a hand towards Zangoose, the Normal-type's form was outlined in a violet aura as the move took hold. With a massive telekinetic shove, the Gengar lobbed Zangoose towards the leaves; almost instantly, the ground underneath collapsed and Zangoose disappeared from sight. Judging from the loud yowling sound that followed soon after, the Psychic attack had manage to fully awaken the wild Pokemon.

That pit likely isn't too deep, especially if that Zangoose made it,” Makina said, walking over to Gaius. “They tend to make their traps mainly for Seviper, so they're just shallow enough where they can't slither out.” Figuring that the Trainer was likely confused to see that his Ranger had changed once more she added, “Aleria had to head out. Since my 'little emergency' is dealt with, I'll be taking back over as your Ranger.”

From the pit, there was the sound of scrambling and sliding as Zangoose attempted and failed to crawl out of his own trap; After what sounded like the third attempt there was nothing but silence.

I doubt it fainted out of exertion, and your Gengar looks exhausted,” Makina said. “Whatever you two plan, tread carefully.”

Gaius watched in anticipation as his Gengar began to perform his commands. The ghost Pokemon first moved in close and struck the Zangoose with Focus Blast, inflicting a large amount of damage onto the normal type Pokemon. Gengar's eyes then glowed, and the Pokemon lifted Zangoose up into the air, and hovered the Pokemon over the trap that Zangoose had made. Gengar's eyes then dimmed and Zangoose fell into the trap from several feet off the ground. Gaius could see that the Pokemon had dug a small pit into the dirt.

Gaius smiled as he watched the series of events unfold, and his smile widened when he saw the Zangoose fall downward.'Very good. As long as the pit it dug was sufficiently deep, it should be stuck there indefinitely, making it quite easy to go in and weaken it enough to capture.' The trainer then saw the Zangoose fall into the pit, and could hear it awaken, and try to quickly crawl up the sides of the pit. 'I bet he's trying to find a way to get up, I should try to plan an attack quickly. I'm just not sure what type of attack I should use next. Varying attack patterns seem to be best so I can catch the Pokemon offguard, however, I've used some of my best attacks already, and Zangoose is immune to ghost type attacks. Gengar is also poison type, so I could use some poison type moves and still get a power boost. I should take a few seconds to plan my next move, though.'

It was at that moment that Gaius heard a voice from behind him, a different voice than he was used to from most of the day's expedition. The young trainer quickly swung around to see Makina, his original ranger, standing where Aleria was a few minutes ago. Gaius looked at the new ranger for a moment, finding himself lost in thought. 'Hm, I wonder where Aleria went, but it's at least fun to see this one come back to finish the job'. Gaius sighed, and then began to address the ranger.

"Wow, so I guess you could be bothered to actually come back and finish my expedition. I hope your issue didn't cause you too much trouble, actually, no, I hope it did. I hope whatever came up was so horrid that you had no choice except abandoning your job to go run off and do god-knows what. Did some fool let misuse his Pokemon and cause a park incident? Or did you just have to go run off and go fix your hair or something. Heck, if that's the case, you probably should go run off and try it again, then. You still look like a mess." Gaius laughed and then continued to speak.

"Although, I hope you're at least more competent than my previous ranger. Aleria couldn't even string a proper sentence together half the time, and kept insisting on going on that all Pokemon are equal and that each Pokemon has a purpose, even if it's for some useless, pansy contest. Seriously, who actually bothers with contests anyway? I hope you don't bother with that dribble, or else you're just as weak and pitiful as her. The only Pokemon that deserve to be in parks like this are those that are strong and powerful. Weak Pokemon have no purpose here at all, and they only serve to hold trainers back from being strong. Aleria, being the fool that she is, kept leading me to mostly weak and useless Pokemon. I was lucky to be able to find anything to catch at all on this horrid run. Seriously, I'm going to write stinging recommendation online as soon as I get out of this wretched park. I'll probably complain about Aleria on the way out as well, I'm sure your boss, whoever he is, would love to know how incompetent the park staff is. I would do well to make sure I don't have to include you in my list of those whom I discuss with your boss." Gaius paused for a moment, and then he continued to speak.

"Whatever reason you had for leaving me before, at least I know that whatever it was is obviously more important than your job. I only hope no other problems arise that would require you to dash off without so much of a word to me. If such a problem occurs again that requires your immediate assistance, I would at least expect you to show me some common decency and mention you had to leave, instead of you just walking away silently and me turning around to see some fool standing where you once stood. If such a disappearance happens again, I may just decide to leave on my own, leaving you high and dry as you had to search the entire woods to try and find me. Honestly I hope it doesn't have to come to that, don't you?"

Gaius turned away from Makina in disgust, and focused once again on the battle. 'I still need to find a way to quickly incapacitate Zangoose, and the distraction from that girl isn't helping at all. Hm...I still think Sludge Wave would be my best bet, so I should probably do that.' Gaius gathered his thoughts and then quickly called out to his Pokemon. "Pestilence, use Sludge Wave! Fill the entire hole with a pool of toxic sludge. No matter what the Zangoose is trying to plan, that attack should be enough to stop it in its tracks! Come'on, I need your strength now. Show me how powerful you truly are. Show me that you are worthy of being called my Pokemon!"

    Ranger Makina Auran

OOC: If you have any questions about the reasoning for this post, feel free to message me.

    *~~~~~~~~~*

Gaius turned around to face Makina, not seeming to register the words that the Ranger had said to him. After appearing to mull over something, he finally responded in turn, "Wow, so I guess you could be bothered to actually come back and finish my expedition. I hope your issue didn't cause you too much trouble, actually, no, I hope it did. I hope whatever came up was so horrid that you had no choice except abandoning your job to go run off and do god-knows what.”

Makina listened to this with as blank of a face she could make as possible. She had left without warning, true, that could upset anyone who had been expecting to be led through the Park in a professional matter. Once the young man continued to go on and insult Aleria, the Park, and everyone in it however, it was becoming increasingly hard to not snap back with her own reply. At hearing the part about only “strong Pokemon” should be allowed here, she wanted to laugh. The Park was a damned nature preserve, not a place where people kept specific Pokemon penned up for spoiled rich kids to catch so they could pretend to be a Trainer. No wonder Aleria had threatened harm on this guy. Seeing that he had finally paused in his tangent, Makina finally started to reply. “I'm sorry that I had to leave before, but for now you need to focus on this battle. If you're done-”

Unfortunately, it looked as if Gaius was just warming up. “Whatever reason you had for leaving me before, at least I know that whatever it was is obviously more important than your job. I only hope no other problems arise that would require you to dash off without so much of a word to me. If such a problem occurs again-”

You have to be shitting me, Makina silently remarked, watching in disbelief as the Trainer continued to talk. She almost wished Aria was here to witness this first-hand as well, but the Gardevoir had to help with a situation in Meteor Valley shortly after teleporting her partner back to this area. Before she could attempt summarizing a polite enough response to Gaius, there was the distinct sound of something sifting through dirt. Ok, nice mode over. “We'll discuss this later! Did you hear that?”

Zangoose erupted from the ground directly under Pestilence, dirt flying in the air as the Pokemon swiped wildly with his claws. While the exhausted Ghost-type barely managed to float out of the way, the Cat Ferret was able charge up dark energy for a second attack, landing a clean slash. The blow struck deep, and Pestilence collapsed like a ton of bricks.

Recall your Gengar, now,” Makina put a hand on Rezi's Pokeball, just in case she needed the Haxorus for help in case Zangoose decided to finish Pestilence and go after Gaius. If the man's attitude had been this way the entire Run... “Again, we'll talk later. Help your Pokemon.”

Gaius stared in disbelief as he watched his Pokemon get hit with a direct attack. 'No! How could it mess up again! I planned an amazing strategy, but somehow Pestilence was too slow to actually attack. I hope that my next attack is successful, otherwise I may not catch this Zangoose at all. Ok, I should recall my Gengar, it can barely even move at this point. If only something like Destiny Bond would just severely weaken a Pokemon, like False Swipe does, instead of knocking it out. I guess I need to try and send in my Crobat and see how well it can fair. Crobat is part poison type, part flying, but it doesn't respond to complex commands well. I wonder if I do something simple like Acrobatics or Wing Attack. Those kind of attacks are simple enough that it shouldn't have any problems. I don't think Zangoose has any attacks offhand that are super effective to my Crobat, but who knows what it can do. Dig isn't listed in its official moves, and it just used it, therefore there could be an electric type move that it's just waiting to use. I only hope my Crobat doesn't go down for the count. I need to catch that Zangoose, it's the best Pokemon that I've seen all day!'

Gaius turned his head towards Makina. "Yes, yes, I know. My Gengar is too weak to battle. I hoped it would at least be able to perform one more attack before I had to recall it, but I guess it was weaker than I thought. I'll make sure to train Pestilence's defenses so that it can withstand even harder hits for the next time I come here, that is, if I ever come back at all. Now I only have one option left, and I thought I could actually catch this Zangoose with my Gengar alone." Gaius sighed, and looked back towards the confrontation.

The trainer's Gengar looked severely weakened, and it was floating a few inches above the ground. The Pokemon looked as if it could barely even move, let alone use an attack. Gaius's eyes glanced over to his opponent. The Zangoose looked a lot healthier, and seemed to have a lot of fight left in it. The young man could tell that the opposing Pokemon could easily destroy Gengar, especially with the variety of moves it seemed to have. Gaius reluctantly reached down towards his Pokeballs, and pulled up the one that belonged to Gengar. The trainer then pushed the button on the Pokeball, extending his arm so the Pokeball was directly behind Gengar.

"Pestilence, return!" Gaius shouted. The young man then witnessed his Pokemon enveloped in white light, and then being sucked inside its Pokeball. Gaius then reached down and attached Gengar's Pokeball, then, in the same motion, pulling off Crobat's. He then threw the Pokeball out towards Zangoose, immediately ready to call an attack the second his Pokemon emerged from the ball. 'I have to be quick about this, I can't afford to make any sort of mistake now!'

As the white light faded, Gaius called to his newly released Pokemon. "Crobat, quickly use Confuse ray to throw the Zangoose for a loop. It might not be able to attack you. Then, use Acrobatics to weaken that Pokemon. I know you've already been through some battling today, but I'm confident that you can win!" Gaius stared at his Pokemon, waiting for it to move. 'I have to win, I just have to. I won't allow myself to have come this far just to lose now. No, that would be unacceptable!'

    BP3 (VS Zangoose)

    Ranger Makina Auran

    *~~~~~~~~~*

Seeing his partner fall to the ground, Gaius' calm demeanor finally showed shock at how Zangoose had retaliated. Still, he seemed to shrug off the Ranger's demand about recalling Pestilence. "Yes, yes, I know. My Gengar is too weak to battle. I hoped it would at least be able to perform one more attack before I had to recall it, but I guess it was weaker than I thought,” replied back. “I'll make sure to train Pestilence's defenses so that it can withstand even harder hits for the next time I come here, that is, if I ever come back at all.”

Admit it, you were worried. Makina watched Gaius recall his Gengar in silence, trying to puzzle out just what his game was. She had seen cruel Trainers in the past, from those who simply overworked their Pokemon to extreme cases that even attempted physical harm on their partners. Pestilence had reached his limit, true, but didn't look abused in any other fashion.

Zangoose let out a low growl as it saw Pestilence disappear from sight, settling his piercing red eyes on the Trainer instead. While it made no move to attack, the Normal-type's white fur poofed up aggressively as if daring this disrespectful human to send out another Pokemon. Almost simultaneously, Gaius released his next teammate, revealing a four-winged violet bat.

Now it was Makina's turn to be surprised. He has a Crobat? Huh... Some Pokemon could only evolve once a close link had been built with someone, whether it was a close friend or their own Trainer. Crobat was one of these species that fell under this specific group, and to see one in the hands of a Trainer who kept going on about power being the only purpose of all Pokemon was shocking to say the least. Either it had been a gift (which was unlikely- those Pokemon who had closely bonded with someone never left that person's side unless absolutely forced,) or Gaius was mostly talk.

Crobat, quickly use Confuse Ray to throw the Zangoose for a loop. It might not be able to attack you. Then, use Acrobatics to weaken that Pokemon. I know you've already been through some battling today, but I'm confident that you can win!” Gaius commanded, looking determined to win this match.

Crobat quickly responded to the command despite his body showing multiple injuries; the rest it had received from being recalled earlier had likely helped. He spat out a small, glowing orb, which floated about in the air as it made a beeline towards Zangoose. Upon seeing the Ray, the wild Pokemon gathered static electricity in his fur before aiming and landing a few sparks at the winged Poison-type. Despite the attack being super-effective, it did little to hinder the orb's progress.

Seeing that Zangoose was properly distracted, Crobat darted upwards before suddenly diving down to ram the wild Pokemon. Thanks to being entranced by the Ray, the attack went off without a hitch and the Cat Ferret slammed to the ground on his back. The attack had left Crobat open for retaliation... seeing this, Zangoose gave a fanged grin and raised a claw- only to slap itself in the head instead. For the moment, both Gaius and Crobat had a free shot.

Gaius watched as Crobat performed his the moves he commaned. The Pokemon sent a Confuse blast towards the Pokemon, and then hit Zangoose with a devastating Acrobatics attack. He could tell that the Pokemon was hit hard with the attack. When Zangoose began to retaliate, the Pokemon smacked itself upside the head, no doubt a side effect of the confusion. Gaius knew that now was the time for him to move in and capture the wild Pokemon.

"Good, now that we've weakened the Zangose, we can capture it!" Gaius quickly reached down into his pocked and pulled out a basic Park Ball. "Now, you're mine Zangoose!" The trainer threw the ball towards the normal type Pokemon and watched it get sucked inside. "I'll be incredibly surprised if I don't capture him right now," Gaius yelled, laughing as he saw the Park Ball shake back and forth.

Gaius wasted no time- as soon as he saw Zangoose reel, the Trainer fished out a Parkball and aimed toward the wild Pokemon. “I'll be incredibly surprised if I don't capture him right now,” he said, laughing as the capture device sucked in the weakened creature.

Guy, you're begging for Murply's Law to kick in right now, Makina remarked silently, watching the Parkball rock back and forth. Fortunately, the sphere soon stopped moving and let off a soft pinging sound, signaling that the capture had been successful.

Seeing that Zangoose was not about to reappear in an angry furball of teeth and claws, Crobat allowed himself to relax. Still, the bat seemed to be breathing a little ragged as it hovered above the ground; like Gengar, he had obviously seen better days.

Looks like you prevailed after all,” Makina said, retrieving Zangoose's Parkball and placing it beside the other three currently resting in her bag. “By the way, I highly suggest we should head out- both of your Pokemon need to seriously rest and you're over the capture limit after capturing Zangoose. If we leave now, I'll gladly listen to whatever you were trying to talk about before and answer whatever questions you have while walking on the way back.” And likely want to hit my head against a tree for doing so later. Repeatedly. Still, this was her job.

Gaius watched as the Park Ball shook several times, and then stopped moving. "Yes, I knew I'd catch it!" The trainer shouted, glad that the capture had proved to be a success. He then quickly turned to Makina as she finished speaking. "Yes, my Pokemon need to go to a Pokemon Center. I wish they could continue to battle, but I doubt I'll find anything better than what I've already caught. I mean, this park doesn't have much to offer, anyway, from what I've seen." Gaius smirked, and then thought for a moment about which Pokemon he would leave behind.

"I'm going to release my Whismur. It's a Pokemon that is quite easy to get in Hoenn, and I'm sure I can pick one up sometime later if I actually desire to do so. I'll be taking my Lickitung, Mankey, and Zangoose out of the park with me then. I have no further questions, and, honestly, I don't think you could sufficiently answer any questions that I happened to have." The trainer smirked, and waited for his ranger's response. After a moment, Gaius turned, wanting to head for the exit as soon as possible.
