'On a scale of one to ten, how bad is it that I want to push this trainer into this river?' she asked herself. 'One. Definitely a one. It's not bad at all. Now how much trouble would I get into?' She paused, looking at the river. 'Definitely a ten. Head Ranger would kill me.' It was decided. Aleria wouldn't shove Gaius into the river. Not only did she value her job as a ranger, but she also valued her life. That was definitely very important to her. Very, very important to her.

With a sigh, she shoved her hands into the pockets of her sweatpants. "I'm gonna stay here and watch. That's my job: to make sure you get through here in one piece." She glanced back behind her, noting that there were no flowers. "By the way, take a look at your surroundings. There's no flowers over there, you twit." An evil grin spread across her face. "Have fun deluding yourself that you're this great trainer."

As she spoke, Gengar melded itself in with the water, and it took on a purple color, making the Whismur back away from it. The pink Pokemon opened his mouth, and a small blue ball formed. Aleria grinned evilly. This Whismur was her kind of Pokemon. When Gengar popped up to use Focus Blast, he got a face full of Ice Beam. A laugh escaped Aleria. 'FACE!' she exclaimed mentally. But the Whismur did, unfortunately, take a face full of Focus Blast, and he tumbled backwards into a tree. Whismur frowned, but Aleria grinned. This would be a fun battle indeed.

"Well, I'm sure if you walked far enough away, you'd find some nice patch of flowers for you to collect, or whatever you do when you're not feigning intelligence." Gaius retorted. He seriously resented the fact that this puny girl believed herself to be on his level. 'If only she knew the truth,' Gaius thought, 'then she'd know not to compare herself to my greatness at all!' Gaius paused for a moment and then spoke. "Now, watch as my Gengar lays waste to that pink Pokemon." Gaius smiled as he watched his Gengar perform his commands.

However, when the stream water turned purple, Gaius frowned. 'No, he was supposed to fully blend into the water, not make himself such an obvious target. How pathetic, I thought I trained Gengar better than that.' When Gengar was hit by an ice beam at point-blank range, the trainer stopped for a moment. 'No, this is fine, I just need to counterattack and try to regain some hit points. It shouldn't be too hard, just try the same combo as the first battle with Lickitung. Hopefully this Pokemon won't be any the wiser until it is too late.'

"Pestilence, try to surprise the Pokemon by getting behind it, and then use Hypnosis. After the Pokemon is asleep, use Dream Eater from a distance to recover some of your hit points!" 'Yeah, if he's further away, he has a better chance to dodge incoming attacks. This might work!' Gaius smiled, satisfied in his plan's success.

He then turned to Aleria. "See dearie, this is how expert trainers react to unexpected situations. They counter perfectly and always know how to respond, no matter what happens. Maybe you should start taking notes, I mean, if you haven't already started to do so after my other successful battles. You might be able to actually learn a thing or two, assuming your feeble mind can process my techniques."

"Pretty sure if I walk away, I'm gonna be in some deep shit. It's not worth it for me to get stuck on probation or to lose my job because of you," she replied. Aleria had decided that already. Gaius was not worth it. Her job was way more important than some stupid, arrogant, stuck up trainer. If she was ready to quit her job as a ranger, shoving him into the river and kicking his ass would be so worth it, but not today. No, no. Not today.

Whismur, however, curled up into a ball and rolled into Gengar. Rollout was the pink Pokemon's move of choice now. As it rolled, rocks were kicked up, and when it slammed into Gengar, the Ghost and Poison type Pokemon was knocked back a bit. It was only a matter of time before Rollout was strong enough to knock Gengar out, and it was already weak. On the plus side for Whismur, Hypnosis had failed because he had curled up into a ball just before Gengar tried to strike, and as a result, Dream Eater failed too. On the negative side for Gengar, one or two more wrong moves, and it was game over for Pestilence the Gengar.

Which meant one more Pokemon for Gaius, and that was his already weakened Crobat. And once that went down, it was game over for Gaius. Aleria would be happy.

"Says the one who couldn't even give his Pokemon proper commands against a Lickitung, and now his Pokemon's getting his ass kicked by a Whismur."

"No!" Gaius yelled, as he saw his Gengar's attacks fail before his eyes. 'My Pokemon must not fail! I have to find a way to ensure that I can at least capture this Pokemon!' Gaius quickly mulled over all of the options that he had, until he decided on a proper plan of action. 'I don't know if this will work for sure, but as of right now, it's the best I can do. I still cannot believe that Hypnosis completely failed. I should have made sure my Gengar had Giga Drain before I entered the park. If only that was the case, then I'd be able to heal a lot easier. No matter, now I can only make the best of this situation, and somehow find a way to persevere.'

"Pestilence, first use Focus Blast on Whismur, then, as the Pokemon is struggling to recover, follow it up with a powerful Psychic attack. That may throw the Whismur off its guard, and hopefully one, or both, of the attacks will hit it hard. Keep on attacking, and I know you can bring the Pokemon down!"

Gaius finally turned his attention towards Aleria. "If you only knew what I was capable of, you would know to show me the proper respect, you insolent little child!" Gaius yelled. "All human beings are prone to a certain percentage of fallibility, however, mine happens to be incredibly minimal. The true test of skill and knowledge is how one comes back from such set backs, instead of mewling like an orphaned kitten when things don't go their way. Only those who actually possess the most ability have a chance to fight their way out of a situation that would seem dire to the bleak-minded or foolish among the populace. Keep your mouth shut when it comes to your condescending remarks, at least, if you know what's good for you!" Gaius then turned away from his ranger and once again focused on the battle.

His mind began to race at the possibility that he could possibly lose this battle. 'Just keep focused, Gaius. That's all you need to do so you can win this. It's so easy, you just need to keep your eye on the objective, and carry out your plan of attack. Have faith in your skills and your superiority over all those who are lesser. You are the pinnacle of Pokemon success, you just need to remember what has to be done, and then order your Pokemon to carry it out. Don't let this pathetic little Whismur show you up.' As Gaius watched his Gengar prepare to move, a small frown crept across the trainer's face. He would never let Aleria see him sweat, but, he began to doubt the chance of his success.

Ohhhhh snap. Word was gonna get out fast about this guy amongst the rangers. Aleria would make sure of it. One did not simply just yell at Aleria. "You need to get laid. Big time." Al made a mental note to get a free lunch courtesy of Makina. She was so lucky she didn't have to put up with this.

But back to the battle. As Whismur was going for round two of Rollout, Gengar launched a beautifully timed Focus Blast that sent the Whismur ball flying into a tree. Leaves fell from the tree as it shook, and Aleria mentally wished she could give Gaius a penalty for that. Unfortunately, she couldn't. Leaves kinda fell from trees naturally. If only he'd knocked the tree down, then Al would've been able to whip out the figurative yellow card. Anything to get this guy kicked out of the park. Whismur shook his head, dazed by his failed second round Rollout, Focus Blast, and hitting the tree. His confusion allowed Gengar to use Psychic with ease, and when the purple aura blasted away, Whismur fell to the ground. He stood up and stumbled. Dazed confusion turned into literal confusion thanks to Psychic. Whismur just couldn't shake it off. Today wasn't Whismur's lucky day.

Gaius sneered as he saw Pestilence perform its moves perfectly. 'Good, exactly as I planned. Now, just a bit more to spice up the move repertoire. The more variety I give my attacks, the less chance it will even know how to react next!' Gaius thought for a moment on what moves would have the most effect on a normal type Whismur. 'Normally Shadow Ball would be my go-to move, but that attack is completely useless here. I could try an innovative combination attack that would make excellent use of my surroundings. Despite me having to send the same move twice in a row, I think, that given its confusion, it won't be able to tell the difference.' Gaius began to laugh, as he realized he had just thought of a near fool-proof strategy.

"Pestilence, use your Psychic attack once more. This time, use the attack to send Whismur flying high into the air. Keep it floating high above the trees for as long as you can. Then, when Psychic begins to fade, hit it with a powerful Thunder Bolt attack before it hits the ground. Make sure to use Thunder Bolt before it falls to the tree-line though. We can't let a stupid forest fire hinder the chances of our success!"

Gaius turned to Aleria once again, and he began to chuckle. "You should know, that even if that were an actual offer, I would never sully my hands with the touch of common breeding stock such as yourself. Being with such a lowlife commoner would suck all of my noble blood right through my very pores. Soon you will see that Gaius Vi Britannia is someone who deserves respect, especially from those in the underclass, such as yourself."

While Gaius thought of a new plan to weaken the Whismur more, the Normal type Pokemon prepared a purple ball of energy that he launched at the Ghost type. Shadow Ball, a super effective move on Gengar, struck the Ghost. Unfortunately for Whismur, that didn't stop the onslaught that happened next. As the little pink Pokemon stumbled around a bit, he was picked up again by Gengar's Psychic, being lifted high in the air. Whismur panicked a little, his plus shaped eyes widening a bit, until the Psychic broke and a bolt of lightning struck the pink Pokemon. He cried out in pain as the attack hit him and again as he crashed into the ground.

"Trust me, someone as cocky as you isn't my type, and I'm in no need to get laid," Aleria retorted. She was in no rush either. Aleria knew how to relax without a little fun, if you know what I mean. Whismur rolled over, groaning the name of his species. He struggled to get up, stumbling, and Aleria could see his eyes were having a little trouble focusing. Poor thing was going to have to be subjected to an arse of a trainer like Gaius. Al felt bad for him. She really did.

Gaius watched as his Gengar pummeled the tiny, pink Pokemon. The trainer smiled and laughed gleefully, as Whismur struggled to stand. 'Good, that worked perfectly. there's only one thing I need to do now! I can easily catch that pink Pokemon, and then see if anything else is worth catching after I have him.' Gaius reached down into his pockets and pulled out a Park Ball. "I hope this battle has taught you a lesson Whismur. You can never truly defeat those who are your betters. You must learn to either adapt and better yourself to defeat them, or die trying. I'm sure I'll be able to teach you such lessons...when you become mine!" Gaius hurled the Park Ball from his hand and watched as it flew towards the normal type Pokemon.

As the ball continued to move towards Whismur, Gaius looked to Aleria. "Finally, the sooner I have caught this little pink monster, the sooner I can see if you can show me any other Pokemon that I want more than the ones that I have already captured." Gaius smiled, knowing how Aleria despised him due to his perceived superiority over her. "I know I'm allowed to see at least nine more Pokemon before I leave the park, and I'm gonna make you take me to as many of them as I see fit. Be prepared to spend the rest of the day being my proverbial chauffeur‎ for the rest of the afternoon. Heck, this might even go into the evening, if I'm lucky." Gaius sneered and laughed, and then turned his attention back towards Whismur and the Park Ball

Arceus had to hate her. The legendary Pokemon really had to hate her to put her through this. Now she had to deal with him even longer? Even after the Whismur capture? The fact that she was getting money made it a little better, but the fact that she'd have to put up with him made it worse. A lot worse. Then again, all she'd have to do is lead him to some really crappy Pokemon, and he'd want to leave. Perfect.

Operation Lead Gaius to Crappy Pokemon was on.

But first she had to pick up Whismur's ball. While she was lost in her own thoughts, Gaius had thrown a Park Ball at the weakened pink Pokemon, and three shakes later, it clicked. Said click was actually what brought Aleria out of her thoughts. She picked the ball up and deposited it into her bag. When she spoke, sarcasm was clearly evident in her voice. "Great. You wanna move on now, then? See what other shitty Pokemon I can lead you to with my equally shitty ranger skills?"

Gaius looked at the ball as it enveloped the Whismur and smiled. 'Yes, I knew it would work. Despite having three Pokemon, I can still check around the area and see if any other strong Pokemon show up. I could possibly find some other powerful Pokemon worth my time and effort. Lickitung is an average capture, Mankey has some potential uses, and Whismur can possibly have a nice movesetif I train him enough. All of them aren't particularly spectacular, though. I wish I could find some truly exceptional Pokemon, although, with this girl as my ranger, I wouldn't be surprised if that was impossible.' He turned to his Gengar, and raised its Pokeball. "You actually were able to overcome a disadvantage, and you pulled off the final combination excellently. I'm glad to see that you understand the price of failure. See that you follow my orders in the future just as well as you just did." He then pressed the button on Gengar's Pokeball, and watched as his Pokemon got sucked inside its ball.

Gaius sighed, and looked at Aleria, responding to her inquiry. "Yes, you hit the proverbial nail right on the head. You even worded it exactly as I would have, but I would have said that without the hint of sarcasm in your voice." Gaius laughed, and sneered at the ranger. "I hope the next Pokemon you lead me to will be better than the ones I have already encountered thus far. All of them so far have been average at best, I haven't seen any of the special or rare Pokemon that your advertising sign listed as being available when I chose this section of the park. If this location fails to provide me with worthy Pokemon, I may just try a different area next time." Gaius then waited for Aleria to lead the way, impatiently tapping his foot as he waited.

"They're called rare and special for a reason, you twit. If you saw them all the time, they wouldn't be very rare or special, now would they?" Aleria replied as she led Gaius on. The cockiness had to be a front, she realized. You had to be pretty stupid to not realize that rare and special Pokemon were rare and special for a reason: they didn't show up very often. Sheesh. This guy was dumb. If she wasn't getting paid for this, Al would have left a long time ago.

But she was getting paid, so she continued onward.

They continued to walk along the river, Aleria watching for signs of movement from a Pokemon. Any Pokemon. Even a legendary would be nice; Aleria could laugh at Gaius then. He'd probably want to try and catch it, and then she'd laugh as his remaining balls failed. One does not simply catch a legendary Pokemon. (This was, of course, implying his Pokemon would weaken the legend enough for him to even attempt to catch it.) She would have grinned had she not saw a little brown bear sitting under a tree with a pile of berries next to it. On the bear's forehead was a crescent moon. "Want a Teddiursa, or are we just gonna leave it be?"

She could probably bet money that they'd be leaving the Teddiursa.

Gaius held his hand up in an attempt to silence Aleria. "Yes, yes. I know that for Pokemon to be special and rare they actually have to be hard to find. That doesn't mean that I assumed it would take more than seven encounters to actually find something that counted as exceptional. I'm not even asking for much, either. Just something with powerful stats and preferably is also very unique in the Kanto region. Whismur has been the only one who can be classified as hard to find, however its rareness in Kanto doesn't make up for its overall unexceptional status. His evolved form is sub-par, but I'm sure that with my teaching ability and skill I can mold him into somewhat of a decent fighter. Lickitung, while slightly hard to find in Kanto, is mostly a novelty at best. Its large tongue can be used in a variety of situations, such as grabbing out of reach objects, at least, that's if you don't mind slobber all over whatever you want it to pick up. Still, I would even be content with a Weedle. That, while both common and a basic Pokemon, actually can evolve into a powerful Beedrill. If that had been one of my first encounters, I would have gladly went for it. However, I'm not sure if Weedle is any better than my current Pokemon that I have caught thus far."

Gaius paused when he could see Aleria indicating a small brown Pokemon that was sitting under a large tree. 'Teddiursa, huh?' Gaius thought. He quickly pulled out his phone and typed in the Pokemon's name into a search database. Within a moment, he was reading all about the new Pokemon. 'Teddiursa, a normal type Pokemon. The Pokemon originates from the Johto region. It evolves into a larger bear Pokemon named Ursaring. It has a variety of claw based attacks, and can learn some odd attacks, like Fake Tears. It's attacks and power level are about average, and apparently they can be easily bought in Pokemon marts across Johto, and some even in Kanto. With it's wide availability in stores, it shouldn't be hard to find my own later on my own. While I'm in the park, I should only catch Pokemon that are hard to find elsewhere.'

Gaius paused for a moment before he began to speak. "No, the Pokemon apparently is available from many stores across the Johto region. Furthermore, the Pokemon isn't exceptional at all, and is a normal type Pokemon. I've already caught two normal type Pokemon, and this one doesn't seem to be better than either of them. Let's keep moving, hopefully you can lead me to something that's not a cheap store bought Pokemon that you bought to fill your park."

"Yes because we totally buy our Pokemon here in the park..." Aleria mumbled, rolling her eyes. Teddiursa gave the pair a cute growl before climbing up into the tree. Smart bear, running from Gaius like that. Al would have too if she were a Pokemon. With Teddiursa gone, they continued walking until a roar made Aleria lead Gaius towards the left. A roar meant something good, right?

Right indeed. In a clearing was a purple, spiky Pokemon with a lavender belly. It was roaring at a few berries in the tree above its head, and unfortunately, its stubby arms couldn't reach the berries. Poor Nidoking. Aleria made a mental note to climb the tree, it wouldn't be too hard for her, and get the berries for the Pokemon. That was... if Gaius didn't want it. "Here's your special Pokemon," Aleria said. "You want it or is Nidoking not special enough for you?"

Gaius began to follow Aleria, until they heard a loud roar close by. He could see a large Pokemon with purple scales, numerous horns, and a grey stomach. The trainer watched as the Pokemon attempted to grab several berries from a branch above its head. 'That's a Nidoking, it's a pretty powerful Pokemon, part ground and part poison type. Normally I would love to add such a powerhouse to my team, however, I already have one. I don't really see the need to have a second Nidoking either. I could possibly try to catch it and then trade it away to someone, however, I'm not sure if I want to take the time and effort to find someone who needs one. Overall, I'm pretty sure I should just leave it be. I can't afford to waste time nor my Pokemon's strength on battling a Pokemon that I don't want and don't have any use for.'

Gaius slowly shook his head, and stared at Aleria. "Seriously, you've led me to a Nidoking? Normally I'd be quite happy with such a powerful Pokemon on my team, but honestly I have no need of him. I already have a Nidoking, and, unless you want one so bad that you want to trade for it, or know someone who does, catching him would just be a waste of time. Honestly I'm surprised how many useless encounters you have found for me over my Pokemon expedition. Although I already have three Pokemon in the bag, I was hoping that staying here and encountering more Pokemon would actually allow me to see some ones that were better than the ones I already have selected. Instead, I've seen a tiny bear cub and a Pokemon that I already own. Let's just try to move on, so we don't waste any more time looking at this Nidoking." Gaius sighed, and turned away from the large, purple Pokemon.

Aleria rolled her eyes. "How the hell am I supposed to know you already had a Nidoking?" she asked, annoyance clear in her voice. "What do you think I am, a freakin' mind reader? 'Cause I'm not! As far I was aware, up until about five seconds ago, all you had was a stupid Gengar and a stupid Crobat." She threw her hands up in exasperation and huffed. "You want to run? Okay, fine. But you're just gonna have to wait a minute 'cause this Nidoking wants the berries in the tree, and since he can't reach 'em, I'm gonna get 'em for him."

And before Gaius could even object, Aleria approached the tree, depositing her bag on the ground at the base of the tree. She could still keep an eye on it from the tree, so if Gaius tried to make a grab in her bag for his three caught Pokemon, she could just drop down on him and stop him from doing so. One did not simply go through Aleria's bag. That was just rude to begin with. The Nidoking backed away a little when he saw Aleria was starting to climb the tree, and he edged nervously underneath her as she crawled onto the branch where his berries were. The purple spiky Pokemon was willing to catch her if she fell. Aleria smiled. "I'll be fine, Nidoking, don't worry. I've climbed loads of trees in my life."

Her words didn't reassure Nidoking, but when he got his berries, he growled happily and walked away, his footsteps shaking the ground a bit as he walked. "Right, let's get... oh." Al cut herself off when she saw a leafy Pokemon with a black face staring up at her. It was a Burmy; Aleria must have disturbed him as she was climbing the tree and getting the berries for Nidoking, or maybe the retreating Pokemon's footsteps had shaken the Burmy out of the tree. Nevertheless, it was here, and it was an encounter for Gaius since he was, unfortunately, here too.

"Guess your next encounter's a Burmy," Aleria said, sitting on the tree branch. "Is it safe for me to assume you don't want such a worthless Pokemon and you want me to hop down from this tree and lead you to something hopefully more interesting than a Burmy, or are you actually going to try and catch this guy?"

"You know, I already told you that I had a Meowth as well. Perhaps you should pay better attention to your what your customers say. I'm sure that listening is considered an important part of being a ranger. I would hope you actually listen to what I say in the future, otherwise you may make a mistake, and I would hate to be penalized somehow for your lack of listening skills." Gaius paused as Aleria mentioned wanting to help the Nidoking. "Shouldn't the Pokemon be smart enough to get the berries itself? It could use Double Kick or Earth Power to knock down the tree, allowing it to gather the berries it needs. In the normal Pokemon wild, there wouldn't be any trainer to help it get berries. If this is supposed to be a wild Pokemon preserve, shouldn't it rely on a survival of the fittest mentality, just like the actual wilderness does. Or is this more of a guided zoo then an actual wilderness park?"

Gaius shook his head disapprovingly when Aleria began to climb the tree to help Nidoking. "You know, if you fall from there, you better hope you're fast with your Pokeball throwing. If not, it'll be fun to watch you hit the ground after the drop. I won't help you either, survival of the fittest, remember." Gaius then heard Aleria scream a few seconds after she had dropped the berries to Nidoking. "See, I told you. You should have just let the Nidoking find a way to get its own berries." Gaius could see what caused her to scream. A small Pokemon that appeared to be cloaked in green leaves.

'Burmy, huh? Let's look him up quickly. Despite Aleria not being impressed, Burmy might actually be something useful.' Gaius typed the Pokemon's name into his cell phone, and waited as the results began to appear. 'Oh, Burmy is from Sinnoh and comes in three different forms, Plant, Sandy, and Trash. Male Burmy can evolve into a Mothim, a bug and flying type Pokemon, while female burmy evolve into a Wormadam, basically a bigger Burmy. Both forms of Pokemon aren't that good in battle. I see no reason why I should capture it.'

Gaius looked at Aleria and responded. "No, I have no use for Burmy. Both of its evolved forms, Wormadam and Mothim, are horrible Pokemon. Why do you even keep such a sub-par Pokemon in your park? It's not like anyone would actually want such a pitiful Pokemon. Seriously, you guys should just focus on Pokemon with the most Power. That's what Pokemon trainers want, anyway. If someone wants to find crap Pokemon like Burmy, they could always go to the Sinnoh region and find one themselves." Gaius turned from the Burmy and waited for Aleria to lead him to his next encounter.

He had a Meowth too. Aleria was tempted to just throw her arms up in the air and do some jazz hands as if she cared. But she was in a tree. Falling out of this tree now would be more than painful, it would be embarrassing. She shook her head. "Right, Meowth. I'll keep that in mind too if we find another one..." If she cared enough to remember. Honestly, she probably would have remembered if Gaius hadn't been such an arrogant twit. This whole run would be better if Gaius wasn't an arrogant twit.

"Yes, because Pokemon are all about battling and being strong and powerful. Have you heard of a contest? Your Pokemon doesn't have to be big and bad to participate in those," Aleria replied, carefully hopping down from the tree. She stumbled a little on the landing, but she caught herself before her body decided it would be okay to fall over. It had been a while since she last jumped from a tree. "To answer your earlier question, the Pokemon normally pick the berries up off the ground if they know they can't reach them. The poor Nidoking probably couldn't find any or didn't really feel like it, I don't know." She shook her head. Why was she even explaining herself to him?

"Right, so we're running from this Burmy," Aleria said, bringing herself back to the main reason why she was here: to guide Gaius through the park in one piece, as much as she wanted to rip him to shreds right here and right now. She picked up her bag, brushing it off, and slung it back around her body. As she started to walk, the Burmy tripped her up, and she stumbled forward. "Whoa, there, little guy," Aleria said to the leafy Pokemon. When she spoke again, it was to Gaius. "Looks like it wants to have a little fun."

As Gaius watches Aleria drop down from the tree, he frowned. 'Damn, I would have loved to see her fall on her ass. She never would have been able to hear the end of falling down jokes until the run ended.' "If we find another Meowth, I may consider suing the park for false advertising. I'd hardly say two of the same Pokemon in one day would constitute having a wide variety available. Keep that in mind, if you even hear of anything that sounds like a Meowth, steer clear, or the first place I'll go when I'm done with this expedition is to your boss. I'm sure he'll love to hear some customer complaints." Gaius laughed, and then continued to speak. "We don't have Pokemon contests in Kanto, that may be what snooty, fancy, pathetic fools do in whatever region you're from, but a real Pokemon experience is battling hard and beating your opponents into submission. Perhaps if you want to learn how to really handle Pokemon, instead of some backwater folks-y contest, you should come visit Kanto some time. You should see how long you actually last in battle with one of our Gym Leaders." Gaius paused, and then looked off in the direction that Nidoking left in.

"It didn't feel like going to another tree? It didn't feel like actually getting it's own food? I'm surprised you fools actually baby Pokemon here so much, especially ones as powerful as a Nidoking. If it was at least a Pichu, or some other baby Pokemon, I could at least understand how it may not be able to feed itself. In cases like that, Pokemon should be forced to either adapt to survive, or be allowed to die off as a weak offshoot of the species. Showing so much compassion to a Pokemon is pathetic. You're diminishing its ability to take care of itself, and you're allowing your own petty feelings of equality get in the way of the circle of life."

Gaius noticed that Burmy would not allow them to leave. He shook his head at the small green Pokemon. 'Seriously, this one won't leave me alone either? Why do only stupid and weak Pokemon follow me? I'd love it if something strong that I actually don't already own decided to follow me, or be found by me. I guess I have to spend even more money to be allowed to leave this stupid Pokemon alone. I really wish they would have put this in the brochure "May need to pay money to leave unwanted Pokemon alone." I'm sure if they did, a lot of people would not come to this god forsaken park. I seriously think that this is beginning to be a huge waste of time. I only hope the next Pokemon I encounter is worth this extra money. Part of me just wants to leave this park right now, but I have an odd feeling that is telling me that I should keep checking around until I have to leave. If my gut feeling's wrong, then I lost out on more money for no reason.' Gaius sighed, and handed Aleria five-hundred dollars.

"Just use one of your little dolls to make this thing go away. If it were allowed, I'd kick this thing from here all the way to the Power Plant, but, I know that would have me thrown out of the park. Although, at this point I'm not sure if leaving wouldn't be a good idea anyway. The clingy Pokemon that you have in this park have already cost me one thousand dollars, which is already on top of the amount of money I spent for admittance and supplies. Why don't you people put things like that in the brochure? Are you too scared that all of your customer base will dry up?" Gaius turned, and went off to follow Aleria.

She wanted to take whatever brochure Gaius was talking about and shove it down his throat until he choked on it. Was Aleria cruel? No. No, she was not. She was just satisfying her urge to kick Gaius' ass mentally instead of physically. The latter would make her lose her job, and that would just be unacceptable. Very unacceptable. She needed this money, and it was too soon for her to get fired from this job. Way too soon.

Taking the five hundred PokeDollars from Gaius, she shoved it into her bag and pulled out a Wurmple shaped PokeDoll. Handing it to the Burmy, the leafy Pokemon nudged it along, rolling past Aleria and Gaius. "You know, you could have bought some dolls of your own before you came in," Aleria commented as she led Gaius along. "We sell them in the park shop in addition to other supplies. Just sayin'."

Aleria stopped when she saw a yellow cocoon. A bit of a smile appeared on her face. This here was a Kakuna, the evolved form of a Weedle, something Gaius apparently wanted. She wasn't sure if they'd encounter a Weedle today, but a Kakuna was just as good, right? It had to be. Why wouldn't it be? Less training to make it evolve into the big, bad, and sucky Beedrill Gaius apparently wanted. "It's not a Weedle, but it's pretty damn close. You want this Kakuna?"

Gaius paused for a moment and answered Aleria. "Yeah, I know to stock up next time. Although, overall, it's not too bad to just use yours and buy them on the spot. Perhaps next time the Pokemon won't be as uselessly clingy and foolish. If I buy a lot of dolls, I may end up not needing them for a while. Seriously, just because I have a lot of money doesn't mean I enjoy spending it in this pathetic tourist trap. From what I've heard, the Safari Zone in Kanto is millions of times better than this hellhole. If I wasn't actually going through Kanto one town at a time, I would already have stopped there. Now, from what I hear, they actually have rare Kanto Pokemon there, such as Scyther, Tauros, and even Dratini. Though I already have a Dragonite, I could always use another Dratini. I'm sure I could evolve it and then trade it for an amazing Pokemon, or maybe I could sell it to you guys so you actually have a Pokemon worthy enough to call yourselves a Pokemon park. Perhaps I'll go and talk to your boss on the way out, I wouldn't mind if I could start selling excess Pokemon, if that at least means you guys have quality Pokemon for people to capture, not crap like you have now." Gaius thought for a moment, and then continued to speak.

"Seriously, you guys don't live up to the advertisements at all. I've been here all day, even found some average Pokemon that piqued my interest, but I have not been able to find anything that supports the assertion of rare. True, if you collect Pokemon from all of the regions, I guess foreign Pokemon can seem rare to those of a particular region. Although, anyone with proper know how can just look up the Pokemon themselves and find out if it's actually worth their time, or if it's just crap. Sewaddle was a prime example, by the way. A less informed or less intelligent trainer would simply see a foreign Pokemon and want to capture it, while anyone who has done any research would know the Pokemon's leaves should be ground up as a fine salad. The same could be said of Burmy, a Pokemon that is hard to find in Kanto, however, in Sinnoh, it's easy to find and overall is quite horrible. I wonder what a Sewaddle and Burmy salad would taste like." Gaius smiled and laughed for a moment, until he could see a small Pokemon that was wrapped in a gold cacoon.

Gaius's mind quickly raced with thought. 'Oh, wow, that's a Kakuna. That's actually one of the reasons I've wanted to come here. Despite the Beedrill family being common in Kanto, they actually are quite efficient attackers, and I would love to add one to my collection. However, at this stage I'm not sure if catching a Kakuna is worth catching. I've already got three average Pokemon, and I could always go to Viridian Forest after I get back to Kanto and try to find my own Weedle. That shouldn't be too hard to do, plus it would allow me to keep one of the Pokemon I've caught here. If this would have been one of my first encounters, I would have caught it for sure. But, I think it would be foolish now.' Gaius turned towards Aleria and shook his head.

"No, sorry. At this point Kakuna wouldn't be a smart capture for me to make. I've already caught three Pokemon, and I can always just go and find a Weedle in Viridian Forest, so it's not a huge priority at this part of the run. Let's try to find something else."
