@Fossil Fusion Apparently I like taking your money for dolls.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

Chris said he'd like to move on, signaling that he had the funds for another doll. “I kind of left my camera at home today...” Ivy could only smile and shake her head. At least they hadn't come across a ton of good picture moments.

The group moved to continue on when another grunt of effort sounded from the Emboar. Suddenly, the giant pig slammed the rock it was holding down onto the ground. It crumbled into dozens of pieces and shook the whole cavern as the noise echoed around them. Ivy squinted as the sound dissipated.

“Well that wasn't very nice,” she said. Then she turned to Chris. “We better use another Pokedoll. A strong Pokemon like that could really destroy something in here if it gets super upset.”

She made another tally on her phone as she offered up another doll. She thew it over to the platform where it landed with a light 'plop'. The pig looked down at it and nodded, seeming satisfied with the offering. Ivy just shook her head again and she motioned for them to keep going.

Soon they came onto another bend in the path, like they had with the Combusken, only this one had somewhat of a roof over the hallway. It meant only the outside wall was open to the air. It created a neat effect. The part of the room near the air was a little wider too, meaning it was safer to walk across, since it was a decent size room.

Suddenly, the sound of flapping wings caught her attention, and Ivy ducked just as a purple blur flashed past her. A flying scorpion Pokemon flew across the room. It stood out against the blue sky behind it. It had a mischievous grin on its face as it chattered at them.

“Hey, a Gligar,” she said, turning to Chris. “Are you interested? I know it's a pretty sought-after Pokemon.”

I signalled to Ivy that I would like to move on. She seemed to smile and shake her head at my camera comment. I did honestly leave it at home…

I followed Ivy to lead me away, and then the Emboar made another grunt. Emboar slammed the rock it was holding on the ground. I felt myself off balance for a moment. The rock pebbled around the whole cavern and shook it up. I felt my body squint at the sound it made. I noticed that Ivy squinted too!

“Well that wasn’t very nice,” Ivy said as she turned to me. “We better use another Pokedoll. A strong Pokemon like that could really destroy something in here if it gets super upset.” My ranger was right indeed; I better use the Pokedoll option, because it is the safest option. I watched Ivy throw the fuzzy doll over the platform and Emboar looked at it.

“I think this is working,” I whispered to Ivy. Ivy shook her head again and motioned us to keep going. I followed behind her quickly whilst Emboar was distracted. She had taken me through some bends and onto another path, similarly to the one from earlier. This scared me a little because I am not very good with heights!

Suddenly, a flapping sound flapped! I watched Ivy duck down and I quickly ducked with her just in case. It was a Gligar! It had a cheeky grin on its face.

“Hey, a Gligar,” she said, turning to me. “Are you interested? I know it’s a pretty sought-after Pokemon.” I was quite surprised a Gligar appeared before me.

“I am going to have to pass here too,” I said to Ivy. “I have another Gligar somewhere else waiting for me. If it fails I’ll use a doll again. $26750 – 500 = 26250

“I am going to have to pass here too,” Chris said. He had a Gligar somewhere at home, so she understood about not wanting to catch it here. Since Trainers could only take out three Pokemon on a regular run, they had to be careful about which ones they selected. If they battled a Pokemon and caught it only not to choose it when they left the Park, that was time that could've been saved.

She supposed he could always trade it or give it to someone, but it would be a shame if the little scorpion got attached to him and then was sent away. It was probably better just to pass it up in the first place.

Even as she thought it, the Gligar started zipping around the cave again, and after a few seconds it dashed right out of the cave and into the open air. It disappeared, and despite Ivy going to the edge of the path, she couldn't see it anymore.

“Well, at least you saved money on that one. It must've had some place to be,” she said.

They continued into the tunnels and got away from the edge of the mountain a bit. After a little while, they came to a room that had a bowl-like indent in the bottom of it. Ivy slid carefully and then watched her step. Here and there were even deeper bowl cut-outs in the ground, like they were nesting holes for something.

A sleepy noise caused Ivy to stop and look ahead. An orange-colored lizard head popped up out of one of the holes and was looking at them curiously. It looked a little groggy, so it must've been napping. This cavern must be its nest.

“What about this Charmeleon?” she asked.

Ivy understood my reasoning for trying to escape from Gligar. I was kind of torn about it but nonetheless, time to move on. Gligar was still zipping around the cave and dashed out of it. It disappeared from in front of my eyes. Ivy followed it to the edge of the path and she could not seem to see it.

“Well, at least you saved money on that one. It must’ve had some place to be,” Ivy said. I was quite relieved because spending too much money could always be a problem. I followed Ivy into the tunnels and finally we were away from the edge of the mountain. I breathed heavily with relief.

“That was a terrifying experience!” I said, whilst I breathed. I was walking behind Ivy and she slid carefully in front of me whilst she watched the ground. The ground appeared to have deeper cuts and seemed interesting. Perhaps something has been laying eggs around here.

Ivy suddenly stopped. I quickly applied my breaks before I headbutted her! I saw a Charmeleon up ahead and it was looking around curiously. It looks sleepy, but I was not scared of this one.

“What about this Charmeleon?” Ivy asked me. I looked at it and thought it’s cute but I need to press on.

“Let’s keep moving,” I said. “I have a Charizard at home, and this one seems like it needs another nap. If it’s persistent I will pay for a Pokedoll.” $26750-500 = 26250

“Let's keep moving,” Chris said. “I have a Charizard at home, and this one seems like it needs another nap.”

Even as he spoke, the Charmeleon yawned loudly, showing off its pointed, white teeth. Then, it settled back down into its nest hole and proceeded to ignore them. They were on a lucky streak for Pokemon not causing a fuss. Hopefully it would keep up.

They continued out of the pit and into the tunnels once again. The problem with Deckbi is that the scenery got really old pretty fast. All the caves and tunnels looked the same for the most part. Even the path up the side of the mountain was pretty much the same once the ash started to fall from the top. There were just more rocks.

This hall was much the same as the ones they had traveled before. The only difference was that it wasn't as dark as some of the ones near the bottom of the mountain. They were slowly gaining altitude.

A light rumbling under her feet made her stop the group, and another brown mole popped out. This one was in the wall, looking at them sideways.

Ivy tilted her head to the side to say hello before straightening back up and looking at Chris. “You passed up that last one, but do you want to battle this one?”

Ivy led me out of the pit and into the tunnels once again. The caves and tunnels all looked the same, I am glad my Ranger knew where we was going. Ash started to fall on me and got into my brown hair…

“Silly ash,” I said, as I brushed my hair. The hall was the same again or looked the same. It was not as dark as the others. Suddenly, a rumbling under Ivy’s feet made he stop me. It was another Diglett.

Ivy tilted her head to the side and looked at me. “You passed up that last one, but do you want to battle this one?”

“Erm,” I thought. “I would like to pass again, Diglett is too cute to capture! If all else fails, doll time.” $26750 – 500 = 26250

Chris decided to pass up this Diglett too, which was fine. Before she could say anything about it, the small mole Pokemon disappeared into the wall again without another noise. Those Pokemon were known for digging tunnels in everything. It didn't surprise her that they would infiltrate all levels of the mountain.

They continued on, and the path started to steer upward again. Eventually they would come up to the top of the volcano, just like she planned. She thought that this time they'd actually make it all the way up there without leaving early. She had only been up there a handful of times.

They came to another room, and then the ceiling disappeared again. The sky was open above them, and small flakes of ash came down from the volcano, almost like it was snow. That meant they were pretty close to the top. The ash would get thicker the higher they went.

A clacking sound caused her to look around the bend in the path. She saw a hovering rock with arms carrying another rock. As she watched, the Pokemon carried the stone after to the other side of the room where a pile had already been started. Carefully, it set the one it was holding down before it floated back over to the other side, heading to pick up another rock. Now that she looked, the rocks looked like they formed some type of fort, sort of like the kind you would make in the snow.

As it saw them, it stopped. Ivy looked at Chris. “What about a Geodude?”

@WinterVinesThe small mole Pokemon disappeared into a wall, silent as a mouse. I was quite surprised it popped out of the hole. Thankfully, I can save my money for now.

Ivy continued me on a path that started to lift upward again. Now we came to the top of the volcano. It was so hot up here, I sweated. It was an amazing place to be! I have never witnessed such heat in all my time as a Pokemon trainer. Ivy led me into another room with no ceiling. I looked up at the open sky and saw sprinkled flakes of ash cascade down.

Suddenly, a hovering rock with arms carrying a rock dashed over towards us. It was a Geodude slowly placing rocks back and forth. Geodude turned towards us a stopped.

“What about a Geodude?” Ivy said as she turned to me.

“Hmmm, Geodude is on my want list,” I said. “But, I would like to press on this one seems too busy to play. If not I will use a Pokedoll again.”

Chris debated the rock Pokemon for a minute. “Hmmm... Geodude is on my want list, but I would like to press on,” he said eventually, thinking it was too busy.

Ivy nodded and moved closer to it, intent on passing it. There was still time for them to see a few more places, and there could be a less common Pokemon there. Geodude weren't exactly rare.

However, when they got close, the Rock-type grew agitated. When they tried to step forward, it made a sound. It started flailing its arms around in a type of tantrum, and Ivy shook her head. It looked like they were going to need another Pokedoll.

She got one out of her pocket and tossed it underhand to the wild one. It caught the doll on reflex, and upon grabbing it, the tantrum stopped. “Nice catch,” she said, before moving on.

Thankfully the Geodude didn't bother them again, and they were free to progress. The path was inclining a little still, and Ivy knew they were almost at the top. Despite being high above the volcano, there were still very hot rocks here. Steam billowed up around a bend, and Ivy found one of the many hot springs here on Deckbi. It was a nice way to take a break, if you didn't mind the heat.

This time, there was something already there. A small monkey-like Pokemon looked up at them from the water edge. It was red, and it had a swirl that sort of looked like fire on the top. It seemed debating whether to get into the water or not. Since it was so hot, the water didn't hurt Fire-types.

“Hey, a Pansear,” Ivy said, pointing it out to Chris. “Do you want to catch that one?”

Ivy nodded to my commands and moved closer to Geodude to pass it. I followed behind. Geodude was so agitated that it made groaning sounds a waved its arms around its body. I was quite jumpy when the rocky creature did that.

“Woah!” I shouted. Pokemon having tantrums is not good! Ivy shook her head and prepared the Pokedoll. She pulled it out of her pocket and tossed it towards Geodude. The rocky creature’s tantrum topped.

“Nice catch,” Ivy said, before moving on.

“Let’s go!” I said, as I followed Ivy. I followed towards the top of Deckbi, being high above the hot volcano. I passed many hot rocks and steam bellowed into my face.

“Ahhhhh,” I said, blocking my eyes. Ivy had taken me to the hot springs, and it was nice to take a break. Perhaps my Pokemon could take advantage of this factor and rest up?

Suddenly, we noticed a Pansear sitting within water’s edge. The hot water did not seem to hurt Pansear. It appeared worried about the water somehow.

    “It’s so cute,” I said.

“Hey, a Pansear,” Ivy said, point to Pansear. “Do you want to catch that one?”

“Nah, I could not take it from these lovely springs,” I said. “Let’s keep moving, we have some more places I would love for you to take me!”

Chris didn't want to take the Pansear away from the springs. She couldn't really blame him; despite the heat, if it was her day off, she'd want to be up here soaking in the water. Thankfully for them, the little Fire-type was content to ignore them. In the end, it decided to sink into the water. Ivy heard its sigh of relaxation as they continued up.

They passed a large boulder and reached the very top of the mountain after that. She had only been up here a couple times, but it was definitely a sight to see. Up here, it was possible to see beyond the rock wall that circled the top. The open sky and blue waters stretched far beyond, and it always reminded her how small they really were in the world.

The edge on this side was about ten feet wide she thought, and the ledge circled around the top of the volcano about a quarter of the circumference. She had taken another Trainer up here once, one of the few that actually made it this far, and he had battled an ultra rare Volcarona. That was one of the many sought-out Pokemon here on the mountain.

There were some scattered rocks and bits of other mountain debris along the lip of the volcano. She peered off the edge of it and looked down. And down and down. Below a pool of boiling lava bubbled. It was angry red, and splatters of the molten rock splashed up along the sides of the mountain and on the wide platform at the very bottom. The last two times she was here, Groudon was sleeping at the bottom. It was empty now, so the legendary Pokemon must have moved on.

Haji came up beside her and she felt the prickle of his mind on hers. She drew her eyes to where he had indicated, and she saw Chris's next opportunity. Out from behind one of the larger rocks crawled a larva-like Pokemon. It had a shaggy white mane, and five red spindles fanned out in a star shape around its neck. It had piercing blue eyes that were staring right back at them.

“Hey, Chris,” she said. “Look there.” She pointed to the extremely rare Fire-type while grinning. “Want a shot at that one?”

The springs were too hot for me and I wanted to leave Pansear in the springs, because it was too relaxed to leave. Pansear luckily ignored Ivy and I, therefore we pressed on. Pansear dived in the springs, and grunted with relaxation.

“Awww,” I said, that’s so relaxing to watch. Ivy took me pass a huge, round rocky boulder and there we reached to the top of the mountain. I could tell Ivy was slightly excited by this…

“Hey Ivy,” I said. “How many times have you been up this far? Is it exciting?” The sight was amazing, so many places you could see. I watched carefully as the rock wall circled the top and I saw the open sky. The blue waters flushed and stretched so far they looked like small statues. Amazing! I was so excited to be up her finally, I may be scared of heights. However, I endured this because it such an amazing view and I have never been up so high.

The ledged surround around the top of the heated volcano looked relaxing to watch, and the area was heated. I felt I was sweating and lost for air up here. However, this was too remarkable to feel as well. As we walked, I noticed many sharp, scattered rocks and mountain remains along the brim of the volcano. I saw Ivy peer over and look down. Perhaps Ivy is not scared of heights? I slowly peered next to her and saw boiling lava, which bubble a fierce crimson red. Molten rock splashed beside the mountain at the very bottom. I had never witnessed such volcanic activity as a Pokemon Trainer. Suddenly, Haji the Espeon dashed beside Ivy. They both turned in the direction of a large rock. A larva-like Pokemon was there and it had five red spindles, which fanned out in a luminary shape around its neckline. It’s piercing blue eyes were staring right back at them.

“Hey, Chris,” Ivy said. “Look there.” She pointed to the extremely rare Fire-type while grinning. “Want a shot at that one?”

Wow, such a rare Pokemon on my National Park run! I thought. This is a very good opportunity to attempt a capture. It was exciting, all these Pokemon I have captured so far were not even on my list. However, they were so cool that I had no idea I would of chose to capture them. Heatmor and Onix. Now, it was time to help demolish some of its Hit Points! I needed to choose a Pokemon out of the two I brought. Darmanitan was still quite weak, and Metagross was tired too. This will be a tough decision to make here. Do I go with Darmanitan would could possibly take some of the bug/fire assault? Or do I use Metagross who can heal itself when needing too. Hmm…

“Go Darmanitan,” I shouted, as I tossed a ball. It soared through the volcanic air and bashed to the rocky ground. A crimson light flared, quickly out of the ball and launched out my Darmanitan. The squat ape-like Pokemon yawned a little due to tiredness. Darmanitan has long, bushy flame-coloured eyebrows, curled at the beginning portions. Similarly, it flickered its black-ringed eyes. The fiery ape creature’s upper part of its tanned face is separated by a diagonal red stripe, and its large mouth has sharp, spiked teeth. Darmanitan was always given the designate of being angry or expression. Darmanitan punched the ground quickly to try and scare Larvesta. However, doing this will only cause trouble.

“Calm down,” I said. “We can do this together.” Darmanitan turned to me and smiled… if that was possible for him. Suddenly, Zen Mode kicked in. Bright lights encased my Darmanitan monkey and transformed it into Zen Darmanitan. It appeared like a grey, stony statue and had small, white eye slots. It also had arms and legs, however struggled move around and was slower.

“Good morning, Zen,” I said. “Are you ready?” Darmanitan Zen grunted a little and was ready to battle. I know it could connect to my mind so we use telepathy for her combinations.

“Let’s try a Psychic,” I said to it through our minds and it agreed back as well. It liked to use its same attack type moves for more power. Using Psychic as its best move because it would hopefully do more damage. Also, it could combine with some Darmanitan Zen’s moves effectively. However, what could we use? The statue monkey notified me to use Psychic to possibly control Larvesta and then blast it with a fiery attack.

“Perhaps this could work,” I shouted. I was always nervous with combinations when I battled rare Pokemon like this. I still remember the time I went to the Gardens with Ivy and I captured a Snorlax. That was a good memory, and Crobat worked so hard! Therefore, I relied on all of my Pokemon like Darmanitan.

“Okay, Zen Darmanitan,” I shouted. “Use your Psychic to try and hold Larvesta still, and then use Flamethrower straight on its head.” My reasoning for this combo because Larvesta does not seem to be the type of Pokemon to stay still for long. Similarly, neither is Darmanitan, therefore this would take a lot of concentration and being as weak as he is. There is so much that could go wrong, but I had so much faith in this Pokemon of mine.

“I know you can do it Darmanitan!” I shouted. “Remember that time you Knocked Out that Whimsicott?” I thought it would be best to remind Darmanitan of previous battles because it would fire it up, and keep trusting me throughout the battle. When Whimsicott kept Encoring my Pokemon, Darmanitan came in and One Hit knocked out it with Flare Blitz. Therefore, I knew my statue gorilla creature was so reliable to bring to Mount Deckbi.

“Hey Ivy,” I said to her and turned towards her. “Thanks for bringing me here, I forgot to say it earlier.” I turned back in the direction of Larvesta.

“Okay Darmanitan Zen,” I shouted. “Use Psychic and then Flamethrower! You can do this combination. I believe in you!” I watched carefully as the stony gorilla started to whirl a purple aura around its rock-strewn body.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

Chris looked pretty happy that a rare Pokemon like Larvesta had shown up on his run. Ivy knew the feeling, since the same thing had happened to her when she was here. That was the same run she obtained Candle, her Chandelure. She had seen the little bug, and those piercing blue eyes had drawn her in and made her battle despite all of the other problems they were having on that run. It was worth it. The bug had turned out to be a great battler. Hers had yet to take the step to evolve into Volcarona, but she was sure that traveling with a Trainer like Chris that it would do so quickly.

“Go, Darmanitan,” he finally said, throwing out the Pokeball with the Fire-type in it. The red monkey looked okay despite the beating he had taken from the Heatmor. Maybe that was just how the monkey was, since he always had that fierce grin on his face.

Chris greeted him, and as they watched, the red monkey shimmered and started to turn back into his Zen Mode. His limbs became compacted close to his body, and his skin took on that blue-gray tone as he formed into the statue. He was still too tired to keep his normal form. She didn't know how handy that was going to be in this battle if he had to stay stationary for a long time. Thankfully, Chris did have the option of sending out Metagross at some point if Darmanitan was close to fainting.

“Okay, Zen Darmanitan,” he said. “Use your Psychic to try and hold Larvesta still, and then use Flamethrower straight on its head.”

Ivy thought that was a pretty good call. Since the bug had a mane of hair around it's head, it was more likely that would catch on fire or something. Despite fire resisting other fire moves, it would still do some damage and maybe stun Larvesta for a bit.

She couldn't tell what the little bug was thinking yet. It was still hovering near the large rock. It had inched a little bit closer to them, as if it was curious to what they were doing. Most of the time, wild Park Pokemon knew what seeing a Trainer meant. Some were hesitant to approach and battle them, but most of them liked the challenge and the prospect of leaving the Park. That was fortunate, since it was their job to take Trainers through so the population could get thinned out. Otherwise they'd have problems if too many Pokemon gathered in one area. There would be damage to the environment and not enough food.

Chris gave the signal to commence with the attack, and Ivy saw as Darmanitan's eyes started to glow with a vivid light blue color. A similar shade of energy appeared around the Larvesta, and as soon as the bug realized it was under attack, it tried to struggle. The Psychic attack was too strong though, and the bug was held in place even as Darmanitan readied his next attack.

A stream of fire billowed from his mouth in a red-orange blaze, and it engulfed the mobile bug. It squealed as the fire burned. Soon it stopped, and the psychic hold that Darmanitan had on the bug ended. The Larvesta shook itself off, not being deterred from the battle. Wild ones usually put up a much better fight than some tame ones.

Fire formed under it's legs, and after a second of waiting, it dashed off toward the still-monkey. Larvesta moved much faster than a lot of people thought. Ivy had found that one out at her apartment as the bug skittered around in it. In a fire trail, the bug rushed up to Darmanitan and jumped onto it. The fire wasn't going to be doing a lot of damage, but then Ivy saw what else the bug was doing.

From its mouth leaked a shiny white string, and it began to wrap around the Darmanitan. The Larvesta was probably trying to obscure his attention in some way. At any rate, it would be annoying. Maybe that was all the bug wanted.

Then, it spring-boarded off of the Fire-type with a flash of heat, heading back toward the big boulder. It was mostly out of Darmanitan's range, but when he could use long-distance attacks, that didn't matter much. The Larvesta was moving a lot quicker now thought. Even as it stood in place, Ivy could see its legs moving back and forth, like it was ready to spring off again. That Flame Charge must've boosted it's speed.

Now it was up to Chris to get out of the String Shot. Darmanitan could probably still sense the bug, but the threads would throw that off a little thanks to the energy within them.

I watched eagerly as Darmanitan Zen’s eyes started to glow with a bright, blue oceanic colour. It sheered around Larvesta. Larvesta tried to struggle, but could not move. Darmanitan used a lot of strength in this technique because it had to focus two moves whilst it used another. A fiery stream of fire sprayed from its mouth and engulfed the orange-like bug. I heard the creature squeal as it was scorched. My primate Pokemon statue dropped the bug to the rocky ground.

“Not bad, Zen,” I said, and held my thumb up. Larvesta shook itself off and looked ready to battle! Suddenly, the bug-like creature’s legs fired up beneath. Zen Darmanitan was then dashed at by the Pokemon. The bug rushed and jumped onto my statue primate. It caused a lot of damage to my Pokemon, and I was worried it had much more planned. I was surprised it used Flame Charge against my Darmanitan Zen, considering it is a Fire/Psychic type. Alas, good show Larvesta. A clever move for a clever rare Pokemon!

“Hang in there!” I shouted to my Darmanitan Zen. Suddenly, I watched a silky String Shot wrap Darmanitan over continuously. This was bad because Darmanitan Zen was mummified like a mummy. I watched it quickly dash back to the rocky, big boulder it was from, and out of range. My statue Zen had a lot of work to do, I felt sorry for him so much because of the no healing aspects. Flame Charge made its legs wriggle faster with speed, hence the move Flame Charge.

“I need to get Darmanitan out of the String Shot,” I said to myself, and clenched my fist. That could have clenched my Darmanitan’s movements or moves completely. How will I ever bring this back? I guess I just got to believe in my Pokemon more than I do now! We have done this before, Darmanitan Zen, and I! It was in the past when I used to be the Saffron Gym Leader. My record was fair with a 10 Win and a 1 loss record. Anyways, we had been struggling against a Scizor, and I was down to one Pokemon. However, my Darmanitan was poorly injured; therefore I had to be careful. My fiery primate was quite wounded and I had to act fast too. Luckily, my Darmanitan came through with a powerful Flare Blitz, which decimated the Gym’s Scenery but Knocked out the Scizor in one hit. The Scizor was flustered across the gym’s purple, tiled floor and scraped them up with its crimson-steel body. I was so proud of my primate that I legged it over and grabbed him. I cuddled him so tightly and they cheered.

I closed my eyes and listened to Darmanitan Zen’s thoughts. This connection was so powerful that I could do it with most of my Psychic Pokemon. I could vaguely hear my Zen Statue Pokemon whisper in pain due to being wrapped up by String Shot. It whispered to me very faintly. ‘I need to get out of this tight string, quickly,” Darmanitan Zen whispered to me. I clenched my fist and wiped my eyes with my other hand. I was so worried about my Darmanitan. I glared over at Larvesta and saw it stood next to its grainy, dark rock waiting patiently.

“Don’t worry Darmanitan,” I shouted. “We will get you out of there in no time!” I could use a Fire-Type move to possibly burst out of the string; however I have to consider how much energy it would take. This is because, Darmanitan Zen is weakened already. I suppose I could use Flare Blitz; however the recoil damage could be too deadly for my Darmanitan. It could burst the string out though but hurt itself in the process.
“Ivy, this is tough,” I said, and turned. “A Rare Pokemon in front of me, schooling me.” I then laughed to myself, and me being pathetic. However, a plan came to me. A simple move that could work if used right. Darmanitan Zen could feel what I was thinking, and I was thinking Incinerate. Incinerate could burn out the energy and might be able to burst through the string. This was an excellent idea. Therefore, I may have made my mind up with this move. However, I would rather use a combination of attacks because once Darmanitan Zen comes out of the string; it would be head on attacked.

“Darmanitan,” I shouted. “I know to you can hear my thoughts, but I have an idea to use Incinerate.” I explained to my Darmanitan Zen what was on my mind just so Ivy knew as well. I do not like keeping my Ranger in the Dark about my movements. I was so pleased with Ivy taking me to Mount Deckbi. I knew she got annoyed every now again of going to the same place. I could feel it as well, and I am very proud of her Haji as well. That cute Espeon helped protect me from rocks and destruction throughout this run. Perhaps a nice scarf for it when we leave the park as a gift from me.

Then it hit me, since my Pokemon’s Speed has dropped and Larvesta’s has increased. It was going to be hard to slow it back down myself, however the only slow down move I had was Rock Tomb. That could work at first, alas time to get out of that silky string.

“Darmanitan Zen, use Rock Tomb after Incinerate, but only if you get out of the string!” I shouted, and instructed. “You can do it, I know you can!” Rock Tomb would hopefully be the right choice to slow Larvesta down as well. They are both weaker moves, therefore will not require as much energy to use them. I hope this work, because if not Darmanitan might faint!

“Let’s run this again,” I shouted. “Use Incinerate on the string around you, when the string is incinerated use Rock Tomb on Larvesta’s head.” I closed my eyes tightly shut and watched as the battle continued. I clenched my fist tightly and started to shake. It’s all or nothing. YOLO I presume.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

Chris went silent for a long time after that, and Ivy thought that he was probably thinking. Then, she felt that pressure against her mind that signaled that Haji was going to talk to her.

“He is speaking with the Darmanitan telepathically,” the cat said, and she nodded. She talked to Haji all the time, and if Vergil would ever let her, she would talk to him mind-to-mind too. “We will fix that one,” the purple cat added after she had that thought. Her Gallade was a bit of a problem child, so to speak.

The Trainer eventually shouted out for Darmanitan to use Incinerate, but she had a feeling that he did it just for her benefit, since he and his Pokemon had been communicating telepathically. Incinerate was a good command, since that should be enough to disintegrate the String Shot wrapped around him. She only worried about how long it would take. She wasn't sure if the bug was going to wait that long.

“Darmanitan Zen, use Rock Tomb after Incinerate, but only if you get out of the string!” he shouted next. If that attack managed to block Larvesta in, it could slow the bug down. Not only that, but Rock-type moves did a lot of damage to this Rare Pokemon. That's why some people didn't like using it in battle. It was still pretty to look at though.

She looked over to the Larvesta to check on it, and saw that it was up to something. She had thought before that its legs had kept moving because it was feeling a boost in energy, but now she thought that it had a meaning. The movements became more focused, and the five star-oriented appendages glowed a light red color. Then, a brighter light engulfed the bug for a second before it shot upward.

Ivy noticed that the sky seemed a lot brighter, and the heat had intensified by many degrees. The back of her neck started to heat up thanks to all her heavy hair. She should probably wear lighter clothing when she came up to the mountain like this, but she used them to protect her skin from the rough terrain. Being a little overheated was better than all the scrapes and bruises she would otherwise have.

She did recognize the technique though. It was a Sunny Day move, meaning that the energy Larvesta released was going to imitate the sun, as if it was stronger. It would help power up Fire-type moves, which could be both good and bad for the two Pokemon, since they both shared that attribute.

Energy prickled over by the statue-Pokemon, and Ivy drew her attention back to Darmanitan. A small wisp of smoke had started up on the front of the Pokemon, in between the strings. It soon got darker, and probably aided by the sun, the strings caught fire in a rush of heat. The restricting bindings fell to the ground uselessly, burnt into ash. That solved one problem.

Then, small bits of rock near the Larvesta's resting place began to move. Ivy could tell that Darmanitan was trying to move them with his mind. Usually this was a physical technique, but since he was stuck immobile, he was having to try it long distance, which made the task even harder. As the rocks made a noise, the bug took notice. It squealed for a second, having a natural fear of the rocks, and faster than Ivy could blink, a circle of fire formed in front of the bug.

It shot off the Flame Wheel just as the rocks fell down on top of it in an attempt to defend itself. However, the fire only managed to knock a few of the rocks off course as it when jutting off toward Darmanitan. The Larvesta made another pained sound as some of the other rocks piled on top of it, and the fire wheel went barreling into the statue.

Darmanitan didn't make a sound, but Ivy knew that had probably stung a little bit, since the attack was boosted by the sun. Thankfully it wasn't too much, but Chris was still going to have to be careful that his Pokemon didn't run out of energy.

The Larvesta managed to wiggle out from underneath the rocks, though it looked a lot worse for the wear. There were chunks of rock and dirt in its white mane, and there were a few scrapes along its body. Ivy saw that the bug was going to try and remedy that though. The top spike on its neck was starting to glow, and the energy was a soft white-green.

“Look out, Chris,” she cautioned. “Larvesta is going to try and heal itself if you can't stop it.” Haji used a similar technique, so she would recognize Morning Sun anywhere.

    @WinterVines;

After going silent for a very long time, I called out my moves and had too much pressure on my mind. I could sense my Ranger Ivy’s Espeon, Haji knew I was connected via telepathy with Darmanitan Zen. All Psychic Pokemon could communicate with me via telepathy. Many of my Psychic Pokemon could do this such as; Alakazam, Gardevoir, Exeggutor, Espeon, Medicham, and Sigilyph. I had a connection with all my Pokemon in a different way, and that’s what makes me one with my Pokemon.

“Ivy and Haji are also connecting together via telepathy,” Darmanitan Zen whispered to my brain, telepathically. I saw Ivy nod to her Espeon and they seemed to be connecting very well. “We will fix that one,” This was zapped to my mind from my Statue Pokemon. It heard Ivy, and Haji talking about a different Pokemon of Ivy’s. This was interesting because most trainers had different natures with their Pokemon. I have a problematic Pokemon of my own. This Pokemon of mine does not obey all the time and does most things on its own. I sighed to myself and thought about the past.

“Wow, Marowak sounds similar,” I said to myself, quietly. “This is the reason I rarely use her in battle because she disobeys.” It started off when she was a young Cubone. Cubone was originally traded to me from a close friend called UltimaShadow. He was Australian! Ever since I traded my Dratini to him for his Cubone. Cubone had never got on with me. This is because Cubone had a temper with Ultima to begin with, ever since she was captured. Therefore, he decided to trade it to me, so I could train her up for a long time, whilst he disappeared.

“Cubone…” I signed, and said. Then after a long battle with a Charmeleon, Cubone used Bonemerrang to Knock Out the fiery lizard and win. Then, bright lights consumed my bony creature and it evolved into a strong, clubbed wielder, Marowak! Ever since then, she’s had an even more stubborn approach to battles, and even her Bone Rush attacks would aim at me on purpose! I used to always get injured in the process.

“Calm down, master,” Darmanitan Zen whispered. “I do not want you to get too worried about Marowak, whilst you are on your Park Run.” I nodded and looked forward to my stone, statue creature. Darmanitan Zen was immensely tired from the battle and I could feel it. Darmanitan Zen prepared Incinerate and Rock Tomb. It could possibly block the Larvesta in the rocks after it incinerates the silky string. It was a long shot, but I waited and watched the outcomes. Rock Tomb would possibly do major damage to the fiery insect because of its typing and rock being deadly. Fortunately, my plans were not to inflict too much damage because I planned to use to slow Larvesta down.

I noticed Ivy glazing over to Larvesta to check on it. I watched her eyes move slowly in the direction of Larvesta. I too followed my bright, blue eyes in the direction of the fiery bug. It seemed to be up to no good, well anything in my favour. Its tiny, little legs were moving quickly and Ivy also noticed the movements of its tiny stubbles. The boost of energy was very good for the creature, but not good for me! However, the movements of Larvesta’s legs seemed to be focused, and strategized. Then, I noticed it glowed in light, red colours and engulfed the bug creature. The energy and colours shot upwards into the atmosphere.

“Wow,” I said to myself. “That’s impressive!” I placed my hands over my eyes and glanced upwards. Ivy also looked up and she seemed to be aware of what Larvesta was doing. Suddenly, the heat around us intensified! I could feel myself instantly sweating around my brunette, short hair. I felt sweat drip down from my forehead, and I started to pant quickly. The heat reminded me off the past I’ve had this problem. My blue t-shirt leaked sweat for a moment and absorbed into the t-shirt. I felt like a sweaty bomb, which should shower. But, after I leave the park, I shall. It makes me feel I should or brought shorts, or three-quarter lengths. However, I would probably be injured in Deckbi. There were so many sharp rocks, and caves that could easily injure me with a wrong turning, or wrong stepping with my feet. The Park was a survival zone, and I had to take it seriously.

“Do you remember Exeggutor’s training?” Darmanitan Zen whispered to me.

“Oh gosh, not that Sunny Day and Chlorophyll training!” I said to myself and patted my forehead. That training was such a traumatic experience. Exeggutor needed to perfect Sunny Day because my egg creature needed to learn how to manipulate it. I was using Medicham to help train him because Exeggutor needed to move faster in sunlight. Whilst, Medicham being an average-ish speedy Pokemon, it was perfect to train Exeggutor with. I would call out Sunny Day and Exeggutor would not use it because he was cared to. Therefore, I had to cheer on my Pokemon a lot to encourage him. In the end my eggscellent Pokemon managed to use the combinations and it started off when I was Mossdeep Gym Leader. It knocked Out a Jolteon because it moves quite quickly, and used many Solarbeam combinations. It blasted its sunny Solarbeams quite quickly and ends up taking down Jolteon with a couple of blasts.

“Aww, good times,” I said to myself quietly. “Exeggutor would have had fun in the Sunny Weather here. However, Larvesta would incinerate Exeggutor with bug-type moves.” I smiled, and sighed deeply. Darmanitan Zen had been working so hard for me, I was so thankful. It may be Darmanitan Zen’s last moves before he is Knocked Out. Luckily, I have my trusty Metagross waiting in the wings if such trauma occurs.

“Luckily, the Sunny Day move boosts Fire-Types,” I said. “I could use this to my advantage here with Darmanitan Zen because it is part Fire.” I placed my hand to my chin and thought about what moves it could use in the sun. Anyways, I watched closely as energy zapped from out of my statue creature, and a small wisp of smoulder started to occur between the silky strings. The strings got darker and burned more intensely and I noticed it was boosted from the sun too. The strings burst into flames and Darmanitan Zen burst out. I watched as the strings cascaded the rocky ground, burnt into ash.

“Thankfully, you’re free,” I said to Darmanitan Zen, with a smile. “Now for Rock Tomb’s outcome…” Suddenly, the small, sharp rocks near Larvesta started to wobble. They rose up slightly and Darmanitan Zen had to use all its energy to control the rocks from a distance. I could sense him struggling; however I had faith in my Pokemon. Larvesta on the other hand noticed the rocks and counter attacked. It formed a fiery circle around it, and it was as fast as the speed of light. I blinked a couple of times to really notice what was happening. The sharp rocks that had attempted to pile onto Larvesta were smacked out the way via a Flame Wheel. It managed to only knock a few out of the way.

“The rocks are coming back at you Darmanitan Zen!” I shouted. The pointed stones flew towards Darmanitan, and luckily they did not strike it much; it did take a Flame Wheel from Larvesta it definitely stung. I could sense it telepathically. The sunlight must have boosted the Fire-Type move. Luckily it did not do too much damage; nonetheless I needed to be careful. I turned to my Ranger Ivy, and I knew she was thinking the same thing. After running around the Park with her, I have learnt to know her a lot more. I sighed with relief. I noticed Larvesta squealing in pain due to the rocks that piled on top of the bug/fire creature. It did not take kindly to Rock-Type moves, just like a Scyther, and Charizard.

Reminds me of the time my Charizard took a Stealth Rock in a very important battle… It was when I used to be a member of the Elite Four back in 2007, I was challenged as soon as I was promoted by a trainer, known as Marth. His Sandstorm Team abused Sandstorm, and Stealth Rock to whittle down my Pokemon’s Hit Points. Unfortunately, for me, I was using Charizard. The fiery Pokemon was all I had left, I sent him in and Stealth Rock took advantage of my fiery Dragon. I still remember the emotional, damaging sounds my dragon made when the stones dug into it. It made my Pokemon really weak, and all I could do was watch in worry as we lost in the end. Charizard may have fainted so easily, but I was proud of him, no matter what had happened. I soon retired Elite Four after that, because I could not bear seeing my Pokemon be injured or lose so easily anymore. After the two Elite Battles I had, I eventually gave it up. I know it was an opportunity of a life time; however I had morals with my Pokemon. We were great friends.

“Be careful, Darmanitan Zen!” I shouted. “You are low on energy, we must think about our strategies more in depth!” Larvesta on the other hand was wiggling out from the rocks underneath. It looked damaged quite a bit. I noticed dirt and chunks of rocks in its white mane. I did feel sorry for it, nonetheless it was all fun and games for capture attempts. It also had a few scrapes across its body, and it seemed to be scheming something. I watched closely as the top of its spike on its neck started to glow. I wondered what this could possibly be!

“This does not look good,” I said to myself. Its spike was glowing a soft-white green colour. Suddenly, Ivy stepped up. I turned back and looked to her.

“Look out, Chris,” Ivy cautioned me. “Larvesta is going to try and heal itself if you can’t stop it.” Exeggutor and Venusaur are also capable of using such technique. Morning Sun, which was a deadly technique and could make the Pokemon recover to full health, like good as new. I and Darmanitan Zen needed a plan to stop this technique from working. However, it would be hard because Darmanitan Zen does not know Weather moves. Also, being a statue could not be mobile enough to strategise quickly. Nonetheless, I needed to strategise quickly, before it healed up.
I tapped my forehead and wondered what moves I and Darmanitan Zen could possibly plan to stop this, or reduce the Morning Sun.

“It is possibly, to knock its health down further after it heals,” I said to myself. “The only problem with this is the damage it would do to Larvesta if it was too strong of a move.” The decisions were hard, and I knew I had to go through all of my options.
I could always reduce its healing strength by shadowing Larvesta in rocks, but not damaging it. That seems like a good idea to me. Darmanitan Zen also knew what I planned by reading my mind. If I used Rock Tomb yet again, Larvesta might be aware of this move yet again. However, Darmanitan Zen did not have many moves that could block the sunlight as to rock moves. I could command an Earthquake attack; however that could be deadly to Larvesta and everything around us. The Deckbi terrain could easily be destructed by a powerful Earthquake attack.

“Gosh,” I said to myself, and sighed. “This is harder every time when Larvesta does anything. I needed to come up with a double combination.” I scratched my head quickly as it was my way of thinking up strategies. Nonetheless, the shadowing strategy was my only option to reduce the Morning Sun’s recovery. Darmanitan Zen may be slower; however I had faith it could pull off this strategy. By blocking the sunlight above, and around Larvesta… It might be able to shadow the bug creature, and it might not be able to recover as much health as in full Sunlight.

I remember in the past when my Exeggutor used Synthesis in bright sunshine against a Milotic in Mossdeep Gym. Milotic came in when Exeggutor was in sunlight and had low health. Due to the Chlorophyll conditions, Exeggutor was able to quickly recover its energy, by using Synthesis. Therefore, after that my egg creature managed to take down the Milotic with ease regardless of the Ice Beams and Confuse Ray it launched. Therefore, I knew how good Morning Sun/Synthesis in Sunlight was and nonetheless I had to do something fast with my shadowing strategy.

“Darmanitan Zen,” I whispered to my Psychic, statue Pokemon. “How about we try another Rock Tomb?” I was quite neglecting my idea a lot, nonetheless it is all I could really think off, and Darmanitan Zen seemed to like the idea. That was always good for me to know, because it was apart of our bond. Darmanitan Zen used its Psychic telepathy to communicate with my.

“How about we use a direct attack on Larvesta before the shadowing strategy?” Darmanitan Zen whispered to me. “I know I am statue, but I could try my best for you, master.” Darmanitan Zen had no emotions that I could see; on the other hand, I knew and felt what my Pokemon felt. The direct attack on Larvesta was also a good idea. With this other strategy as well, it could possibly knock off the fiery, bug creature off course. I wondered if Ivy liked this idea, I bet if I brought a Pokemon that could use Smokescreen or change the weather we would not have this problem. I thought to myself. Nonetheless, Darmanitan and Metagross were good choices for Mount Deckbi. They have pulled through so much in the park, especially with the Heatmor and Onix battles, and captures they achieved. They did excellent work!

“Well done, Metagross, and Darmanitan,” I said, and thanked whilst I put my thumbs up. “You two have been pretty awesome on this adventure; you could have not done better.” I was so pleased with my Pokemon’s strategies, and movements through this Park adventure. Now back to the Larvesta strategy of moves. I planned to use Flamethrower first because it was boosted by sunlight and could do some damage. Then, I planned to use Rock Tomb around like a cage at Larvesta. I did not want Rock Tomb to actually attack Larvesta though, because that would be deadly. My main strategy was to shadow and trap Larvesta so it could not heal using Morning Sun.

“Darmanitan Zen,” I shouted. “Here’s the full plan in detail, so take note! I know we can do this awesome strategy together!” Darmanitan Zen telepathically communicated with me and I knew it liked the plan. My statue Pokemon was very adamant when it came to attacks; however it was able to follow my strategies very well. As it has done in previous battles within the National Park. I glanced at Ivy and Haji as they seemed pretty hot in the sunlight. It seemed like they needed a fanning down with water or some flying moves. Shame, I had neither to cool them both down…

“Okay Darmanitan Zen, focus here!” I shouted, and clenched my fist. “Firstly, use Flamethrower, but don’t use it at full strength. If the Flamethrower works, I would like you to use Rock Tomb to trap Larvesta. However, do not damage it please; we are trying to prevent a Morning Sun recovery.” I smiled and knew Darmanitan Zen would try its best. If the Morning Sun worked it would recover so much health on Larvesta, therefore making Darmanitan Zen’s hard work seem like nothing. The sunlight seemed to intensify me and made me sweat some more. I breathed deeply and sighed. I was exhausted to say the least. All this walking, and running around made me seem quite unfit.

“Darmanitan Zen,” I shouted, and grabbed his attention. “Let’s do this together. I know we can. Let’s go!” I waited eagerly for the strategy to unfold. Then, I turned to Larvesta and knew it was ready for battle. It did not seem bothered about its sunlight being too hot. I closed my eyes and breathed deeply. I needed to calm down and relax. Darmanitan Zen communicated with me.

“Relax Chris,” Darmanitan Zen whispered to me, eerily. “Leave it all to me.” I opened my eyes, and smiled. I had nothing to worry about with my statue Pokemon being around. I blinked some more and panted within the sunlight. I should have really brought some sunglasses with me, that way I would not be blinded by the sunlight or get any dirt in my eyes, which seemed to happen within Deckbi. Alas, I am not prepared enough as my Ranger Ivy, I mean come on I forgot my camera! I could have taken that picture of Emboar as well. That way I could remember all of the Pokemon I encountered within the National Park, Mount Deckbi run.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

Chris debated for a moment on what to do, and every second that ticked by one was moment more close to the Larvesta healing herself. That would be bad, since Ivy wasn't exactly sure how much more damage Chris's Pokemon could take.

He seemed to come up with something after a moment, and then energy gathered around the statue. Another stream of fire came from the stone monkey in rolling waves, flickering in reds and yellows and oranges. It caught the Larvesta's attention right away, since that was something she had seen before.

With a deep breath, she released her own set of flames. The two sets flared as they hit each other, both evenly matched. The heat was intense, and Ivy felt sweat forming on her brow from the two attacks powered up by the sun. Flecks of fire flaked off the attacks to fall on the bug, but she didn't really seem that worried. Since she had seen this attack before, she knew how to counter it.

Darmanitan let his flame die as he focused on his next move, and the Larvesta's stream of fire cut off with a loud whoosh. The whole time, her top spike hadn't stopped glowing, so she was still getting ready to heal herself.

The rocks started to wobble again, and Ivy saw the bug's attention flick up to the boulder near her. She knew this one was coming too, since something similar had just happened. As a result of that, when the rocks came crashing down, the bug moved, skittering away from the damaging pieces of stone unhurt. They came around her like a cage though, boxing her in until the Ranger couldn't see her anymore.

A whoosh of energy swept over the field, and Ivy wondered if that was the Larvesta putting her healing technique to use or not. Then, the energy intensified even further, from what she could tell. Having a link with Haji let her sense energy a little better than others, barring full Psychics themselves. It handy, but sometimes it caused problems, since she wasn't very used to it.

A thin beam of light trailed down into the circle of rocks, sparkling with a light yellow color. Then, it expanded in a cylinder shape, turning green-tinted. The air swept up the dirt as the beam of energy soaked down into the rock ring. Then, the rocks trembled as they were blasted outward.

The blast came straight from the center, where the bug was waiting. She shot the Solarbeam straight at Darmanitan, and it was so powerful it knocked the statue right onto his back. It also cleared the rock cage away, leaving the bug in plain sight. She didn't look too damaged, but she wasn't perfect health either, so she must not have healed very much.

Ivy took one look at Darmanitan and called out to Chris. “I think you better switch him out. He's taken a lot of damage. I'm not sure how much more he can take.”

    @WinterVines;

After thinking for a while on what to do, I finally figured out that Flamethrower and Rock Tomb were a good idea. Every second I wasted, Larvesta would have healed; therefore I had to be quick. I did worry quite a lot now because of Darmanitan Zen’s health. It was quite low and I could see it had taken immense amount of damage. I would give my Darmanitan a massive hug if I could right now, however it would be painful for him. I had to act fast and think of a strategy to make Darmanitan paying the ultimate price of fainting.

“Hang in there, Darmanitan!” I shouted, to the statue creature. Suddenly, a lot of energy gathered around the blue statute. I watched closely as a stream of fire blasted from the stone primate… The rolling waves were flickering reds, yellows, and oranges as it caught Larvesta’s attention. The fiery bug Pokemon had seen this technique before. Unexpectedly, I saw that Larvesta combated back with a deep of breath, and released flames back. I watched as two flares of flames combusted with each other, and seemed to be evenly matched. The sun made me sweat some more and powered up both fiery, volcanic attacks. I noticed the flecks of fire flaked off to fall on the bug creature. It seemed Larvesta knew how to counter such moves because it had probably seen them before. Darmanitan also let his flame down, and focused on the next move.

“Not bad Darmanitan,” I shouted, with thumbs up. Suddenly a whoosh sound echoed to my ears as Larvesta cut her stream of fire off. I acknowledged Larvesta’s top spike hadn’t stopped glowing and seemed to be ready to heal her. Darmanitan launched Rock Tomb. I watched as the rocks wobbled. I saw Ivy watch Larvesta. The boulder next to the bug Pokemon flicked up.

“Larvesta seems to be aware of the plan…” I whispered to myself. Larvesta watched the sharp boulder. The rocks crashed down, and the bug moved. The damaging pieces of stone did not hurt her. I watched as the cage cocooned her inside. The plan had worked… Suddenly, green energy swept over the field. A thin beam of light trailed down the circle of the sharp rocks. The green, sparkled energy expanded in a cylinder shape, turning emerald. I watched as it swept the atmosphere up with dirt as the bean soaked onto the rocky cage. The rocks shafted all around it and crumbled to the ground…

“That is not good,” I said. I rubbed my eyes with amazement as I sweated with the heavy sunlight. Larvesta had used Solarbeam, which blasted out of the centre of the rocks from where she was caged in. Suddenly, the tinted-green beam flashed at my Darmanitan and knocked the statue over. I was so worried, and clenched my fist. The giant thud sound echoed through my body with shivers. I noticed Larvesta did not look at perfect health, and therefore means she either healed a little, or not a lot.

“I think you better switch him out. He’s taken a lot of damage. I’m not sure how much more he can take.” Ivy shouted to me from behind. Ivy was right, it was not fair to force Darmanitan to fight, considering Metagross had quite amount of health left. Metagross should be fine to command against Larvesta. It would seem pretty wimpy to retreat a Pokemon who thought so hard. Nonetheless, I care about my Pokemon dearly and needed to send in Metagross. I reached for my blue pocket and brought out a red-white Pokeball. I clenched it in the palm of my hand and beamed out a transparent crimson light.

“Return, Darmanitan Zen,” I shouted, as I watched the crimson light consume it. I clenched the ball closely at my heart. “You did great out there. A good backrub for you when we get home. Well done!” I watched Larvesta and reached for my pocket. I grabbed another Pokeball and tossed it forward. It swung through the air and bounced to the ground. It shafted out a crimson light and a new Pokemon came out.

“Go Metagross,” I shouted and tossed a ball forward. It bounced on the murky ground and burst opens my Metagross! My tank-like Psychic Pokemon crashed to the ground and shook the floor. My feet shook with it. The turquoise metallic creature was a powerful one and had giant black eyebrows and a moustache.

“Meta,” Metagross growled, as it scraped the ground with its shiny, steel claws.

“Hello Metagross,” I said, and smiled. “Please take over from where Darmanitan left off!” I waved at the steel creature and prepared to attack. I had a good idea in mind to use a powerful attack and then attempt to capture. (Providing the health would be low enough.)

“Meta,” Metagross nodded, and looked at me.

“Metagross, I want you to use Meteor Mash on Larvesta!” I shouted. “Be careful though, and do not take it out of your sight until the attack is finished.”

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

Luckily, Chris took Ivy's advice and called his Pokemon back. “You did great out there,” he said to his Darmanitan as the beam of red light sucked it back up into the Pokeball. It was pretty true, as the Larvesta was being weakened. A few more strong attacks and he would probably be able to finish this battle with a capture.

Once his Fire-type Pokemon was secured, he reached into his pocket for his other Pokeball. He threw the red and white sphere down, and in a flash of light the large blue crab emerged again. The bright sun glinted off of its steel plates. Chris was going to have to be careful as long as the makeshift-sun was powering up Fire-type moves. A powerful blast would really hurt the Steel-type.

The Metagross settled and looked back at its Trainer for instructions. Chris said, “Metagross, I want you to use Meteor Mash on Larvesta!”

The steel crab's limbs started to whir with energy as it charged up for the attack. Ivy worried a little, since Meteor Mash required contact. There was a chance that the Larvesta could burn the Steel-type with one of her abilities when it connected. That would make it harder for the Metagross to hit, and it would start wearing down its energy even further. Still, she could only watch these battles. Trainers had to decide their own plans.

The Larvesta didn't seem to be doing much, but Ivy knew that was probably just a ruse. She thought she faintly heard the light crackling of sparks, but she wasn't sure. Before she could comment on it, Metagross had finished charging its attack.

The blue crab shot off, using its back legs as springs to launch itself forward. Its one arm was tightened back, and as it flew toward the bug, it let that limb fly straight out. The hit was so powerful that Metagross didn't stop when it slammed into the bug. Instead, it went flying toward the mountain wall, and Ivy flinched as they slammed into it. A dust cloud ballooned around them, and Ivy hoped that the Larvesta hadn't been squished in the impact.

Thankfully, she heard the Larvesta cry out, and then a bright burst of electricity sparked from underneath the steel behemoth. The insect had apparently fallen below Chris's Pokemon before it hit the wall. Metagross was thrown backward from the impact, and when she was uncovered, Ivy saw that the Larvesta had sustained a bit of damage.

Then, the bug's eyes glowed, and a small flame appeared in front of her. Another flickering fire appeared behind the Metagross, and soon they began to fill in the gaps around the Steel-type.

“Watch out for that Ember,” Ivy said, watching as the flames expanded into a ring. “With the sun so strong, it could flare up at any moment.”

Chris was going to be careful Metagross didn't get toasted.

    @WinterVines;

I was thankful I took Ranger Ivy’s advice because I could not bear seeing Darmanitan Faint after all its hard work. Metagross was happy to be back out and ready for more commands. However, I was intrigued what would happen next, and what Metagross’s Meteor Mash will do to Larvesta. The sun glinted off my Pokemon’s steel, blue plates. I had to be careful as well due to sun boosted Fire-Type attacks. This is because it could be fried like it was burnt breakfast.

After I shouted Metagross to use Meteor Mash on Larvesta. It got to work. The steel crab’s legs started too absorbed with energy and charged up for the Meteor Mash, attack. After this, I was worried about Larvesta’s Flame Body ability. I completely forgot about it, but it was too late! Hopefully, lady luck can be by my side and Metagross will not be burnt. If my mechanical creature was under the status of burn, that would be devastating. This is because it would narrow down its health and make its physical moves weaker!

I looked over to Larvesta and she did not seem to be doing a lot. I was worried it was conducting a scheme to overpower Metagross. Suddenly, Metagross’ attack charged up and was finished charging. I watched carefully as the metal creature shot off using its hind legs as a trampoline. It launched itself forward at Larvesta and slashed its arm toward the fiery bug creature. Metagross’ leg slashed Larvesta and both of them hit the mountain wall. It slammed them both and dust cloud appeared around us.

“Woah, Calm down!” I shouted. [email protected] Larvesta cried out and a bright burst of electricity sparked from underneath Metagross. Larvesta struck from underneath and moved backward from the impact where she was uncovered. It appeared it took a bit of damage. Larvesta’s eyes glowed brightly, and blasted a small flame in the direction behind Metagross. Ember surged around its metallic joints. Impacted by the sun would of made that hurt even more!

“Watch out for the Ember,” Ivy Said, “With the sun so strong, it could flare up at any moment.”

“Oh no!” I shouted. I had to think fast and weaken Larvesta some more. I needed to capture it after this, or attempt to capture. I need to control it from surging Metagross with Ember first. I could use Bullet Punch to try and fend some of Larvesta’s flames away from its joints. That sounds like an excellent plan to me! Then, I can attempt a capture with a Hyper Ball.

“Metagross,” I shouted, whilst pointing at Larvesta. “Use Bullet Punch, quickly. I want you to strike Larvesta and fend off some of the flames with it. It might be a long shot, but I know you can do it.” Metagross quickly nodded and was ready to attack. Then, I reached for my pocket for a small sphere object. It was the Hyper Ball, I readied it and was ready to toss it at Larvesta!

“Let’s finish this!” I shouted, with a smile. This National Park Expedition at Mt.Deckbi has taught me a lot about survival. I am so proud of my Darmanitan and Metagross for getting me this far in the Park. We caught Heatmor and Onix together, which was an amazing achievement. I smiled and closed my eyes remembering the battles and Pokemon I met here.
