NBP- Ranger Serenity Nijihana

"I can't belive it's my second job already." The girl said as she paced about nervously. She removed a clump of her long ed-brown hair from her mouth and sighed. "I really gotta calm down." Serenity looked down at her feet-although technically, she could not see them due to her large upper regions blocking her view.

The knees of her lavender cargo pants were slightly grass-stained, and her periwinkle t-shirt was a bit wrinkled. Her purple Blaziken, and her Empoleon looked over at their trainer in dismay. Their trainer would be arriving any minute now, and Serenity hadn't tamed her nerves yet. Glancing at the mid-afternoon sun, she knew they would be arriving soon.

Ace had been waiting eagerly for his next adventure in the National Park. Since his last journey had been cut short, he was looking forward to this one. He was riding on Starlight's back, trying to hold onto her feathers and read a map. The Meteor Valley was labelled as being up ahead.

"Starlight, can you see the valley?" Ace asked.

"Star!" The Staraptor replied, and dived down lower so Ace could see. He couldn't see much, but he could make out a huge valley up ahead, which looked very dark.

"Land now!" Ace instructed, and Staraptor went into the right motion, and sped towards the ground. Ace shut his eyes, and when he opened them, they had landed in front of a girl.

"Hello there, my name's Ethan Acetrainerson, or Ace for short. Are you Serenity?"

 

NBP

A boy flew down on a Staraptor, whom she decided was her trainer. He looked ever so slightly familiar, but she was never very good with names and faces, so she shrugged it off.
"UH-HUH." She smiled. "Ranger Serenity Nijihana." Serenity paused. "And this is Sapphire, and Amethyst." The girl gestured upon introducing her pokemon, both of whom smiled.

The valley was filled with tall grass and flowers, and one could make out cave entrances scattered about the walls. In a couple hours, evening would come, bringing with it the setting sun. She took a deep breath of the air and began planning the trip.
"So, what sorts of pokemon are you hoping to catch?"

Ace nodded at the two Pokemon, and began following Serenity.

"Do you want to fly above us, and watch out for trouble?" He asked Starlight.

"Ap Staraptor Aptor." Starlight replied, and took off into the sky. Ace smiled, and walked up closer to Serenity. She asked him a question, and Ace pondered over it.

"I prefer basics, as then I can battle them, catch them and get new Pokemon that I can train up and get more money." He said at last, laughing slightly, before looking around at some of the caves, wondering what was inside.

"Basics are good, but I meant; Are there any specific pokemon you hope to find here?" She smiled. Serenity kept an eye out for any wild pokemon, but they had yet to see any. The smaller ones were probably hiding in the tall grass. She began thinking about the kinds of basics that were supposed to live in Meteor Valley. 'Let's see. There are Wynauts, and Bedlum, Cleffa, Poochyena and...umm.'

Suddenly, she saw the grass rustle a little ways away, and began walking in that direction for her trainer to follow. Serenity was also pretty sure that Ethan had brought a camera, so even if he did not wish to catch fully evolved pokemon, he would still have the option of taking thier picture.

Ace pondered over this follow-up question.

"Hmmm... I wouldn't mind getting a Gastly, Cleffa or Beldum." He said eventually. "I think they are pretty cool, and I wouldn't mind a Pokemon like Solrock or Lunatone."

Suddenly, the grass up ahead shook. Ace froze, and put one hand over his camera, and hoped Starlight had noticed, in case they were about to battle

 

NBP?

"Ching?" A pokemon sounded. Out of the cluster of grass popped a round yellow pokemon. "CHINGLING" It cried.
"Oh, it's so cuuuuute!" Serenity gushed over the bell pokemon. The Chingling began to dance around in a circle, clearly delighted to see them.

"Ching ling ling ling ling ling ling." It sang in a scale from a low note, to a high one, and back again. Clearly, the pokemon loved to preform. One could only wonder how many others it had forced to be it's audience.
"LIIIING!!!"
"So, any intrest in catching it?" Serenity asked Ethan.

Ace smiled with joy and relief: Chingling's were cute, and Chimecho could be very powerful Pokemon, if this one looked male

"I am going to battle it, but I don't think Starlight will be very good against a Pyschic." Ace explained. "So go Major Yu!" With a flash of light and sprinkle of stars, a shiny Drapion formed on the field, standing in front of the small Chingling. Chingling looked shocked, and Drapion smiled.

"Begin with Scary Face!" Ace boomed. Drapion nodded, and suddenly his eyes and mouth glowed red. They enlarged, and soon beams shot out, going for Chingling.

 

BP

He shrieked, as he had not expected they would attack him. "IIIINNG!!!" The Chingling cried. Out of instinct, he developed a psychic aura and used it to grab one of his opponents pincers. Using a Confusion, the pincer was jabbed into the ground. However, Chingling was still struck with the Scary Face, and the attack slowed him down.

The Drapion would have quite a bit of difficulty freeing himself from the ground, as his pincer had been plunged in quite deep. He then began to Growl.

Ace watched as Chinglign smashed Major Yu's claw into the ground, and it was now wedged in there.

"Drap!" The Drapion growled, and he stared angrily at the golden, floating bell. Ace pondered about what to do, as he wouldn't be able to use X-Scissor or Cross Poison now until both claws were free.

"What to do, what to do..." Ace pondered aloud. He looked up at Starlight flying around overhead, and it suddenly gave him an idea.

"Alright Major Yu, I want you to bend your knees and jump, and then fire a Pin Missile!" Ace boomed. Major Yuy nodded, and bent his stubby little legs.

"Drapion Eon!" The Poisonous Scorpion bellowed, and he leapt upwards. His left claw glowed white, and multiple miniature missiles shot out, speeding towards Chingling at great speed, and they were rapidly multiplying.

 

BP

Spikes flew through the air directly at the small pokemon. The Chingling cried out- more like screeched, as Pin Missile after Pin Missile zoomed towards him. Only two of them hit the yellow pokemon however. He was knocked back a bit by the first one, and much more by the second. Even though the particular move was weak, the bug move took a toll on the psychic type.

After recovering, Chingling sent out some psychic waves heading towards Major Yu. Confusion wasn't nearly as powerful as Psychic, but it would have to do for the time being. A somewhat swirly pink haze rushed towards the larger pokemon. Suddenly, it dipped down and picked up a chunk of the earth below at least the size of a few of the Drapion's segments.

It was hurled at the pokemon still stuck in the spot. Immediately before impact, he managed to get his pincer out of the ground. However, it was not fast enough and Major Yu soon found himself covered in dirt, pebbles, and grass.

Ace cursed his luck, as not all of the Pin Missiles had hit, and Chingling probably would have been badly injured if they had all struck. And the Confusion struck, just after Major Yu got his claw free.

"Tough luck, but hang in there, I know you can do it!" Ace yelled out, and the Drapion modded appreciatively, and wiped the dirt off him. Ace began to think now: Psychic moves couldn't affect Major Yu directly as he was part dark, but if Chingling used the surroundings more, than Major Yu could get badly injured.

"I have an idea!" Ace proclaimed. "Major Yu, use X-Scissor, and try and hold Chingling to the ground!"

"Drap!" He boomed, and his two long arms suddenly glowed lime green. He raised them up in an X, the left one over the right, and then moved closer to Chingling. He swung his arms, and a lime green X was fired at Chingling.

 

BP

The glowing green shape flew through the air, somewhat locked onto it's target. Chingling nearly froze as he saw the attack heading straight for him. A moment before it would have hit however- he levitated over it and it only scratched him.

"IINNGG!" He cried out. Once he got his bearings back, the bell created a massive, psychic, scoop-like thing. Pouring all his strength into this, his Confusion most likely had the power of a weak Psychic attack. This was getting annoying. All he wanted to do was sing, then out of the blue, he gets attacked.

It dug into the ground and came up with a large pile of dirt. This one would not be so easily shaken off. Towering over the Drapion, he began to bend his face in peculiar ways and emmited a dark cloud. The Astonish would give him the moment needed to dump the dirt on.

Soon the attacking pokemon was buried in a heap of dirt a foot taller than he.

Ace swore angrily, and kicked at the dirt. This was getting ridiculous: it weas his first Pokemon, and it was taking such a long time to actually do something to make it weak enough to catch, and Ace was becoming heavily tempted to kill it! And now it had gone and buried Major Yuy in a heap of dirt, something that couldn't be allowed.

"Should I even bother staying with this irritable Pokemon?" Ace yelled, and let out an irritated growl. There was a sudden burst of cold, and Starlight swooped down from the sky, landing besides her trainer.

"Oh, hey Starlight." Ace growled, and looked over at the dirt. "This Chingling is being really annoying, and Major Yu is now stuck under there! Do you think I should just give up? It is only a Chingling, and there are pretty of other Pokemon that could possibly be better."

"Staraptor Star Ap Starap!" Starlight scolded. She didn't think that Ace should give up this easily, especially on his first Pokemon. Ace nodded, guiltily, and looked back at the dirt. He could hear his Drapion moaning from underneath, and could see it fighting to try and get out and break free from these holds.

"Hmm...." Ace pondered, and thought about some of the things Drapion's could do: it had a tough shell, could turn cars into scrap with it claws, its claws also excreted poison, and his head could turn one hundred and eighty degrees.

"That's it!" Ace exclaimed. "His arms are attached to his head, so they can move when his head moves!" Ace ran forwards, and stood close to the rocks. "Major Yu, start spinning your arms and head around, and get rid of this dirt!" Starlight moved in front, raising a wing to protect Ace and Serenity. Suddenly, dirt began flying, and two spinning purple blurs replaced them, as Major Yu turned his head around, and his spinning arms sent dirt flying, a lot of it smashing into Chingling.

"Brilliant! Now jump up again, like you did before, and use X-Scissor from above. But once you use the attack, wrap your arms around Chingling!" Ace boomed. If Chingling was going to use unconventional methods, so would Ace!

"DRAPION!" Major Yu yelled, pleased to be free of the dirt, and leapt up, getting the last of it away. He managed to get up above Chingling, and then crossed his arms. They turned lime green, and Major Yu fired another X-shaped beam. It was glowing, and bigger than the last one, as the Drapion's rage had fuelled his attack. And he stretched his arms out as he began to land, getting ready to grab Chingling after the X struck.

“Hey!” Serenity yelled. “Watch your language!” She scolded. The girl felt a bit sorry for the small psychic type. Having to face off against such a large opponent. It simply didn’t seem fair. Looking down at her feet, Serenity wondered if Sapphire and Amethyst felt the same way. Before she knew it, the Drapion had wrapped it’s pincers around the Chingling.

This X-Scissor had hit it’s opponent almost dead on, which no doubt did a large amount of damage to the yellow pokemon.
It struggled and Squirmed, but with no avail.
“CHIIIIIIAAAAANNNNGGGWAAAAANNNNGGGG!!!” He screamed. Unable to move, he did one of the few things he could do only with his mouth. Growl simply would not cut it, so he made an Uproar. As the crying continued relentlessly, Major Yu cringed and felt like he was losing his grip. Fortunately though, he managed to hold on tight.

"Sorry for the language, but this is just really stressful, you know?" Ace apologised. "I don't own any Psychic types, and I have always admired Chingling and Chimecho, so I really hope that I am able to catch this little fellow!" Ace explained, and looked over at Major Yu and the Chingling. It was now making an Uproar, which meant that the normal type attack would cause some serioues damage if it kept up.

"What to do now?" Ace pondered. He could switch Major Yu out for Starlight, and give him a break from all of this. But Major Yu had succesfully captured Chingling within his pincers, which meant that a lot of up close attacks could now be executed.

"Sorry Starlight, I don't think I will send you in for this battle."
"Staraptor Star Star Ap." Starlight replied, nodding knowingly, and then she spread her wings and took off into the sky. Ace smiled, and looked back at Major Yu. He was smiling widely, and looked like he was ready to eat Chingling!

"Eat it... that's a good idea!" Ace boomed. "Major Yu, now that Chingling is up close, I want you to use a Thunder Fang attack! Hold Chingling steady so he can't break free!"

"DRAP DRAPION DRAP!" The shiny scorpion boomed. The white bits on either side of his mouth turned yellow, and electricity spread throughout his teeth. Major Yu then opened his mouth up wide, and moved his tight arms towards his mouth, ready to try and bite the singing Pokemon. Ace could tell Major Yu wanted to end this as well, and hopefully once this attack was done, Ace would finally be able to throw the ball!

 

BP

Major Yu's electric charged fangs crashed down upon the Chingling, ceasing it's Uproar. He fell to the ground, barely consious. However, the Drapion took some damage as well, as it's a horrid idea to bite down on something almost as hard as a Steel type.

Given the close range of the attack, and that the pokemon was still recovering from the X-Scissor, there was a small chance the bell would be knocked out. Serenity however, found that unlikely due to the resiliance of the pokemon. Major Yu groaned in pain from the Thunder Fang attack. He was unsure if any teeth had broken, but being a Drapion, they would probably grow back even if that was the case.

The Chingliing stood up and wobbled slightly, trying to regain his balance before he could even think about Levitating.

Ace smiled with joy: Chinglign was now seriously damaged, and could barely even stand up, let alone float up into the sky with Levitate. This meant that Major Yu could attempt an Earthquake, but Ace realised that wasn't that great of a plan: Chingling could easily float back up into the sky at any second! And Serenity's Pokemon might get injured by the quake as well, as fire and steel ar weak against ground.

"Major Yu, how are your teeth feeling?" Ace called out. The Drapion glared down at Chingling, and then felt inside his mouth with his pincers. I walked up and examined his teeth. Several looked a bit chipped, and one was cracked, but nothing too serious had been done.
"You'll be fine, don't worry!" Ace explained soothingly, and patted Major Yu on his back, making the Drapion smile.

Ace then sat down on the ground, and reached into the bag. Moving through some of his medicines and his two Hyper Balls, Ace finally found what he was looking for: a Super Ball! The specially designed PokeBall was just the thing he needed to catch this Chingling. And Ace was deifnitely going to catch it, after the ages he had spent here, letting other Pokemon, possibly rare ones, go straight past him! And that wasn't allowed on his watch.

"I think I have been here long enough to catch this!" Ace called to Serenity, grinning cheekily from ear to ear. He looked down at the Chingling, who was looking very weak wobbling on the earthy floor. Ace felt a little bit guilty about attacking him while he was very weak, but it was sometimes the only way to capture Pokemon.

"Okey dokey then!" Ace boomed, and Major Yu took a step backwards, a wicked gleam in his eyes. "Super Ball, GO!" Ace yelled, and threw the small spherical capsule with all his might.

 

BP?

The ball zoomed straight for the wobbly pokemon.
"Nice toss!" Serenity grinned.
Tapping him right in the forehead, the Chingling was swallowed up by a red light. It shook once, it shook twice, and clicked shut along with a "PING!"

Serenity immediately began looking around the area for more pokemon. In a bush, a few yards away, she spotted something small and black. She decided not to mention it to Ethan yet though, as first he had to celebrate his new Chingling.

"Are you planning on naming the little cutie?"

Ace yelled in joy, and rushed forwards to grab the Super Ball.
"BOOYAH!" He shouted, and hugged Major Yu, who roared with triumphant. Starlight swooped down happily, and Ace became buried in the hugs of the two Pokemon.
"Nickname... how about Mozart?" Ace suggested. Major Yu and Starlight nodded. I pulled a Poke Ball.
"Major Yu, it's time that you had a nice, healthy rest." Ace said.
"Drap." The Drapion agreed, and was sucked inside the PokeBall. Ace turned towards Serenity, smiling.
"So, what next?"
