BP

The Solrock watched carefully as Major Yu stacked stones about himself, trying to figure out what on earth he was doing. After a small while, more red laser things were zooming towards the wild pokemon. Fortunately for it, they missed just barely. If the Solrock had moved a fraction of a second later, it would have found itself even slower.

Meanwhile, Major Yu felt as if he was being guarded by a mystical aura, wrapped around his body. For a brief moment, a hazey coating engulfed him, signaling that the Drapion's special defense had been raised.

The Rock/Psychic type made a move immediately after dodging. Using Confusion, its psychic powers grabbed hold of one of the stones making up the barrier. Knowing full well that it could not use it to affect its opponent directly, it would need to improvise. It tugged at the keystone, trying to pull it free.

Ace clapped happily with joy as Major Yu's rock barrier held, but could see that Solrock was still getting ready to cause some major damage to his plan as it tugged on the rocks.
"Major Yu, swat it away with your arms if you have to!" Ace growled. The Drapion nodded, and tried to raise his claws, but Solrock wasn't close enough to get hit. Ace began to ponder what to do next. But, as he thought, there was a sudden sharp sensation in his head.
"AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" He shouted, and collapsed onto his knees.
"Drapion Drap Drapion?" Major Yu asked. Ace couldn't hear him: the pain was moving through his head, but seemed to be focused upon the front of his brain, right between the eyes.

There was a swooshing sound, and Starlight came down to land, having heard the cry.
"Staraptor Star Aptor Ap Staraptor Tor?" The Starling Pokemon asked, bending down, her white chest nearly touching the ground.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Ace cried, and whimpered slightly. Things began rushing through his mind, some stuff that he couldn't even comprehend properly.
What's wrong with him?
Ace heard something very clear, and it made him sit upright.
"Who said that?" He asked. Starlight simply shrugged, and Ace rubbed his head.
What should I do next?
Ace heard it again, and stood up, though toppled a bit.
"I heard something!" But Starlight and Major Yu just stared at him blankly.

"Never mind..." He mumbled, and looked at his Drapion. "Alright, I want you to spin your arms around and try and get them to extend. Use Pin Missiel as well. Once your arms are long enough, whack Solrock to the ground and use Scary Face again!"
"Drapion Ion Drap!" The Scorpion replied. He began spinning his arms around until they were purple blurs, and could feel them growing. Green missiles shot out again, some heading for Solrock. As Major Yu's face began to lit up in the Scary Face fashion, his arms neared Solrock...

 

BP

As Major Yu spun, releasing another slurry of Pin Missiles, the circular stone wall was demolished as well. Rocks were whacked at the Solrock at high speeds, chipping the pokemon's points. All but one missile hit the psychic type, but it had already taken substantial damage from the dismantaled barrier.

Soon, the Solrock was hit much harder, a blow that sent it crashing to the ground, being struck by the poisonous spikes that had been put down earlier. During it's effort to get back up, Major Yu shot out more red beams to slow the opponent. However, the Solrock rolled out of the way just in time.

It was running out of options. Confusion wouldn't work on the Drapion. Or would it? The pokemon recalled it's childhood, and being told a way that would supposedly work. Although the Solrock had never tried the method before, it figured that there's a first time for everything. Using all it's might, it used Confusion and began compressing the psychic energy into something quite solid, shaped similar to a baseball bat.

In a moment, the object was sent straight down onto Major Yu's head. To his suprise, it hurt.

Ace was disappointed that Solrock had managed to avoid the Scary Face, and now it was causing more damage by manipulating the rocks with Psychic.
“Damnit, can’t this Solrock just die already- AAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” Ace screamed again, and he collapsed onto his knees, shaking slightly in pain.
Ace, what’s wrong? A feminine voice asked, but it didn’t sound like Serenity.
Who is that? Ace thought, and looked around, but his vision had blurred.
It’s me, Starlight! Ace nearly had a heart attack at that: his Staraptor was talking to him! There was soft laughter inside his head, and Ace was sure he was going mad.
This happens sometimes when a powerful Psychic Pokemon uses an attack inside the park, as there is a different sort of energy in this area. Starlight explained.
Can Major Yu talk to me, or Evelyn, or Serenity’s Blaziken and Empoleon? Ace asked, as he tried to regain the focus in his eyes.
Major Yu can talk to you, but it will be difficult, as he is a dark type. Evelyn should be able to talk to you, and exceptionally well at that! Blaziken and Empoleon belong to another trainer, so you can’t talk to them. Starlight clarified.
Ah, I see. Ace thought. His headache was subsiding now, and he could see better: Major Yu was staring at him, awaiting instructions, while Solrock floated in mid air.
Starlight, what should I do? Ace asked. I don’t know how to defeat this Pokemon! There was a pause, and Ace looked up at the bird: she appeared to be pondering the situation, and was looking around the area.
I do have an idea! She said after two minutes. Utilise Major Yu’s arms, his bug attacks and the rocks again, and then try and weaken Solrock! And if you don’t manage to capture it, then you should heal up Major Yu, as he looks tired, and then I have a few tricks up my wing!
Good idea! Ace thought, and laughed a little at her joke.

“Alright Major Yu, I want you to scoop some of those rocks up, and then throw them while using Pin Missile!” Ace shouted. Major Yu was looking very tired, but he nodded, and began picking rocks up with his lime green glowing claws. The shiny Scorpion had been through a lot, and it was just as determined as Ace to end this battle and capture it’s tough new teammate! As Major Yu charged up for the attack, Ace pulled one of his Hyper Balls out: it was time to try and end this!
“DRAAAAAAPIIIIIIOOOOOON!” Major Yu roared, and his arms turned into spinning purple blurs. Rocks began flying towards Solrock, followed by the miniscule missiles.
“Alright, here goes nothing!” Ace shouted, and threw the ball, hoping that Solrock got captured. The ball soared over the rocks and Pin Missile, and Ace crossed his fingers.
Hit, please hit!

She looked over at Ace, who screaming. Above, she heard the cries of a Staraptor, most likely his. Starlight was clearly very concerned about her trainer. Watching them intently, it seemed like they were having a conversation without words. They spent a lot of time looking at eachother, flying pokemon sometimes appearing to be in deep thought. How that was occouring remained a mystery.

Finally, the teen called out a command. The scorpion was soon lifting and hurling more stones from the ground. Solrock struggled to dodge them, and was hit by a couple. Just when the living stone thought it was over, an additional onsluaght of Pin Missiles flew towards it. Some hit, some did not. They were a tad weaker than usual. Looking up, a round thing was flying right at it. Unable to react, it made impact. With a flash of red light, the pokemon was confined.

It fell to the ground and rolled a bit, eventually settling between two rocks.

The hyper ball shook once,

'Click!' To Serenity at least, it was a wonderful sound.

Ace froze, and it took a few minutes for it to settle in. But than he turned and looked at Starlight, and roared out in delight.
"FINALLY, SOLROCK IS MINE!" He cried, and danced around happily in joy. Major Yu came over, panting, but was still smiling at what they had just achieved.
"Thank you so much!" Ace said, and hugged the Drapion tightly.
"Drapi." He replied, before nearly keeling over and crushing Ace. He chuckled, and quickly brought him back.
Good job, I knew you could do it. Ace looked at Starlight, who was smiling at him, and Ace just beamed.

He then moved forwards, towards the ball lying amongst all of the rocks. Ace picked it up and examined it.
"I think I'll name it Nikkou." Ace decided, after hearing the word from a friend.

"Nikkou?" She briefly wore an inquizitive look on her face. "Nikkou." The girl said again with a smile. "Sun-... Erm, I don't know what the other part means." Serenity put her hand behind her head and laughed nervously during her minor ditzy moment. Her long red-brown hair swayed gently in the breeze, creating quite a contrast to the rest of her flustered self.

"Not to be rude, or anything, but don't you think it might be a good idea to heal Major Yu? In case you need him?" She said, quickly snapping into a slightly more innocent version of her normal self. The teen saw her pokemon out of the corner of her eye, searching through another area of the stoney section for more wild pokemon. If they spotted anything, they'd be sure to get her.

"Nikkou is a name I heard back at the Trainers Estate." Ace replied, and bounced the ball in joy. Staraptor smiled warmly, but than stared back up at the sky, and flapped her wings, taking off. Leaves and dust rose up around her, and Ace's eyes followed her as she soared majesticly into the sky. He was so captivated, he didn't even hear Serenity's next question.

"Heal him now?" Ace repeated. He pondered for a second, but shook his head. "I don't want him to be weak, but there's a chance he might not even need to come out again, and I'd like to save up in case Evelyn or Starlight take a serious hit

"That makes sense I guess." Serenity said tilting her head. Before anyone else had the opportunity to speak, Amethyst came running back. "Blay, ken, zeh, blayzehblay." She told her trainer. The girl raised her eyebrows. "Really?" Serenity said, intrigued. Motioning to Ace to follow, she took off in a jog following her Blaziken. Her hair and breasts bounced heavily in sync as she did so.

As they arrived, it became clear what all the excitement was about. Laying amongst the other boulders was one that seemed rather out of place. It was smooth, and a dark shade of gray. However, the most peculiar thing about it was the yellow markings. Some were zig-zag, others were straight. Overall, the formation looked almost to be a face.

Ace had gone back to staring at Starlight as she flew up ahead, and considered summoning her back down, and riding on her back, so he too could experience the same feeling up in the skies that she had. However, there was crunching nearby, and Amtyhst the Blaziken appeared.
"What's going on?" Ace asked, but Serenity signalled for him to follow, so Ace set out.

They ran for a few minutes, and Ace had begun sweating by the time they stopped. He stared around, puffing, trying to see what was the cause of their appearance here. But than he saw it: a big grey, wispy figure, next to a series of boulders and looking right out of place.
"I think that's a Dusknoir!" Ace gasped excitedly, and pulled his camera out. "I wonder if a ghost Pokemon appears on camera!" Ace laughed, and clicked the button

"It should. I've seen photos of ghost types before." She stated plainly, repeatedly blinking her eyes when the flash went off. Not the only one irritated by the flash of the camera, the Dusknoir slowly sat up. It had been sleeping soundly. The pokemon rubbed it's err, eye, stretched, and promptly floated away.

"Honestly, they're cool, but at the same time they give me the creeps." Serenity shuddered slightly. Suddenly, she spotted something blue in the bushes nearby. The color was familiar, and glossy as well. It couldn't be more than two feet tall. The girl's curiousity was massive, so she immediately went towards it. Reaching into the gap between foliage, she grabbed something a bit squishy and lifted it out.

"IT'S SOOOOOOOO CUUUUUUUTE!!!" Serenity squeed, cuddling a startled Wynaut.

Ace laughed as the Dusknoir floated off.
"Well, he may appear in photos, but I don't think he likes appearing in them!" And he continued to laugh at his own wit. But he did follow the Dusknoir as it moved off, wondering what it would be like to own a ghost Pokemon: he really wanted one.

Suddenly, there was a squealing, and Ace turned around. A Wynaut was beign cuddled by Serenity, and Ace smiled as she squished it.
"I think it looks cute too!" Ace explained, and held his camera up. "I should take a picture, and show it to people so they know how cute it is!"

She looked like a little girl as she nuzzled it. Sapphire figured it was pent-up frusteration of not having a small, cute, pokemon to hold. Therefore, she simply couldn't help herself when she saw the Wynaut. Unfortunately for her, and fortunately for the little psychic type, the flash of the camera startled the both of them and allowed it to flee from her grip.

For a moment she pouted, but soon marched off into a cluster of trees in search of pokemon. It was, after all, her job to find pokemon for the trainer to catch. Although at times she wondered how conventional her methods are.
"Aaaaah!" Serenity yelped and rushed out of the mini forest. Out of it on her tail came a growling Mightyena. The pokemon was crouched down in a battle stance. "I'm sorry! I didn't know your den was there!" She cried. The dark type looked a bit thin in some areas, but a tad fat in others. "I think she may have recently given birth. I could easily be wrong though." The girl whispered to Ethan.

Ace frowned as the Wynaut ran away, and looked at his camera: was the flash too bright for these tiny Pokemon?
"Why would you sell something that scares Pokemon, in a Pokemon park!" He sighed, rolling his eyes. But Serenity didn't seem to have heard, as she had gone towards the bushes.

"What's over here?" Ace asked, just as Serenity screamed. He moved forwards cautiously, and saw the Mightyena glaring at them.
"Given birth, eh?" Ace said. "I wouldn't want to take her away from her cubs, but I'll take a picture of her anyway, for the memory." Ace mainly wanted to see if the flash scared all Pokemon, so he clicked the button onc eagain

 

NBP

The Mightyena's eyes widened at the flash and she then shook her head as if she had just drank a shot. For a few seconds, she glared at the intruders. Finally, she decided that they were not worth the trouble, and walked back to where sha came from. Serenity sighed with relief.
"That was a bit frightening." She said afterwards.

While the ranger looked around in an effort to decide where to go next, the plants on the outskirts of the woods rustled. Out came a Poochyena. It was clearly not of the ones whom were just born, but it most likely was the pup of the Mightyena.
"Hmm. I bet it's from a previous litter. I wonder why it's still living with it's mother. Seems perfectly healthy, and able to live on it's own to me." The girl mused. Meanwhile, the pokemon's tongue was cutely sticking out of it's mouth, obviously in a playful mood.

Ace sighed as the Mightyena walked off, and stared at the camera: t was clear now that the flash on this contraption was too powerful for Pokemon to handle. But, Ace still liked taking pictures, but wasn't sure what to do.

There was another rustling sound, and suddenly a Poochyena was there, staring up at them.
"What a cutey!" Ace said, and made an 'aww' sound. The Poochyena did look a bit healthy, but Ace did feel a pange of guilt about taking it away from its mother.
"I won't catch it, but I think I'll let Evelyn play with him!" Ace said, and threw a PokeBall. Energy came out, forming alongside the Poochyena, and Evelyn grinned happily at it.
"Flareon Fla!" She said, and began running around with the dark puppy. Ace smiled, and couldn't resist taking another picture

I arrived to see a famela ranger scurry off down the steep hills, leaving a trainer in the company of a Poochyena and a Flareon. They two Pokemon seemed to be playing together. The trainer whipped out a camera and snapped a picture of the two.

"Hey, there," I smiled. "My name is Jay and I'll be your ranger for the time being."

The trainer his Flareon and the Poochyena all spun around, shocked to see me. "If you have any questions or anything feel free to ask. Oh, and are you interested in battling this Poochyena?"

Ace and Flareon examined the Poochyena that was near them: it hadn't run off when he took the picture.
"That's strange, all the other Pokemon seemed to do it." Ace said curiously. He was about to try and take antoher when he heard the sound of snapping twigs: Ace turned around to see Serenity had suddenly disappeared.
"Serenity.... Are you there?" Ace shouted, but he got no response. "This is irritating...." He huffed: how was he meant to keep going without a ranger?

"Eon Flare!" Evelyn shouted, and pointed with her fluffy tail. Ace turned again as he saw the familiar rangers outfit. But as the figure descended, he was quick to realise it was a male, not a female. The man introduced himself as Jay, a replacement ranger.
"Oh hey, my name's Ace, and this is my Flareon Evelyn. My Staraptor Starlight is flying around overhead." Ace explained to the new ranger. "Do I want to battle Poochyena? No thanks, I don't want to seperate it from its mother."

"Oh hey, my name's Ace, and this is my Flareon Evelyn. My Staraptor Starlight is flying around overhead." Ace explained to me. "Do I want to battle Poochyena? No thanks, I don't want to seperate it from its mother."

"Oh, few trainers want to battle Poochyena. They're quite cute but some have been known to have a vicious tendency when they don't get what they want," I smiled. As if on cue, Poochyena started barking and he bared his fangs at the Flareon. I suddenly realised that Flareon had a piece of bark in his mouth. Clearly Poochyena was interested in the piece of wood. Flareon sniffed her head in disgust as Poochyena nipped on her foreleg. Evelyn the Flareon hopped back to her master and dropped the piece of wood at his feet. "Sure looks like he wants to battle," I said.

 

Ace gasped as Evelyn moaned in pain, and she quickly retreated behind Ace's legs. Ace looked down at the Poochyena, who looked like a toddler from his great height. It barked and yelped, but Ace didn't want to take the bait.

"I don't care how much it wants to battle, I don't have any moves to counter it accept for Close Combat or some of Major Yu's, my Drapions, bugs moves, but he is still very weak from his previous battle against Solrock." And with that, Ace began taking several steps backwards, keen to get away.
