Geodude slammed itself into the ground, causing a small earthquake. Scamper tried to avoid it, but he was hit by the small tremor. "Use Swords Dance and then hit it with Earthquake." I called. I knew he might get hit again, but it more than likely wouldn't do much damage. I was going to have to hit the Geodude hard.

Scamper formed several white swords around his body. They began rotating faster and faster as he raised his attack. I wasn't sure if it worked, but before the Swords Dance ended, he stomped down hard on the ground and sent small seismic waves to the Geodude.

That Earthquake attack was all that was needed to send the Geodude running. It dropped another small brown present bag, similar to the one Bastiodon had dropped. I picked it up and quickly put it away. "Well, let's get going." I said, moving east of Mt. Deckbi. I figured that soon we'd come across Fire type Pokemon soon, Scamper was the only Pokemon that would do decent amount of damage, but he was also the only one that would take the most damage from the fire attacks. ​

I saw a small brown ball with black stripes on the ground and bent over to pick it up when it jumped at me. A Sandshrew slash out towards me, if I hadn't ducked, it might have done some serious damage to me. The little mouse Pokemon dug underground and out of sight. "Hmm, okay Scamper, while its digging I want you to use Earthquake." I called out. Scamper nodded and prepared to use the ground shaking attack. Earthquake was an attack that doubled in power when the opponent was digging underground. Scamper stomped down hard again on the ground, sending seismic waves down through the ground.​

The Sandshrew came up and hit Scamper with Dig, but I could tell that it was badly hurt from his Earthquake attack. Soon after the Sandshrew emerged, it used Defense Curl and launched itself in a Rollout attack. He slammed hard into Scamper, and I couldn't let him to it again. "Come on back, Mindbender, you get in there." I said. "It's using Rollout, stop it with Grass Knot." I figured that Mindbender could get him to go off balance if she used her Psychic abilities to control the grass.​

Sandshrew had tripped over the Grass Knot Mindbender had formed. It hit its pretty hard, at least hard enough for it to leave. It dropped two candy canes which I immediately picked up. "Great job Mindbender, take a rest Scamper." I called out, placing Scamper back into his Pokeball. Mindbender would be great to use, especially if I came across another Ground or Rock type Pokemon. ​

It wasn't long after battling the Sandshrew that I noticed it was getting hotter and hotter from some reason. I looked up and saw the sun blazing, which I found odd since every place we've been to was covered in snow and the sun was no where to be found. So why this place? I knew Shadow and Mindbender had noticed this as well and were on guard. I could feel the snow underneath me begin to melt as I walked over it. Then I heard a loud roar, so loud that I could feel the vibration on the ground. "Uh-oh, we got trouble coming this way." I said, finally realizing what was going on. The only explanation for the sun blazing the way it was, was because of the legendary Pokemon, Groudon. This Pokemon was said to control the continents and to live in volcanos, so for it to be out and about meant trouble.

"Alright Mindbender, use Light Screen, then follow it up with Focus Blast." I called out. I wasn't sure what moves Groudon would use, but I figured any special move it used would be super effective or powered by the sun, so Light Screen would help her not get hurt by them too much. If he used a physical attacks like Earthquake then I wouldn't have much to worry about since Mindbender had great defenses.

Mindbender would focus some of her energy in front of her, creating a light blue and a glass wall in front of her which would lessen the damage she took from special attacks. Then she would put her hands together and form a light blue ball of energy and fire it at Groudon. If that didn't work, I was going to have to slow the Groudon down with Grass Knot and hit it again with Focus Blast.​

Groudon had quickly upped his attack and defense. Then he used Overheat, which was both good and bad. It was bad obviously because it did massive damage, but it was also good because his special attack dropped significantly. Then he lunged forward, his right claw glowing a deep purple color as he slashed at her.

"Use Wish Mindbender, then throw up a Reflect." I called out. "Use Grass Knot to slow it down." Mindbender would chant up a spell that would give her more health, but it took a while to take effect. Her eyes would begin glowing light blue and a clear, glass wall would appear in front of it. I was hoping that if Groudon came at Mindbender again, he'd trip and get some major damage done. Once Mindbender had a fix on him, she'd control the grass again, doing it so quickly that'd he wouldn't have time to evade it if it hit. "Use Protect and come on back Mindbender, wait for Wish to come into effect." I said. I just had to wait for her wish to come into effect and grant her more health. While she did that, Shadow would go in and take care of Groudon, he is already at full health. With Reflect and Light Screen still in effect, he wouldn't take much damage.

"Okay Shadow, get in there and use Nasty Plot, then fire a Solarbeam attack." I said, wiping the sweat off of my forehead. Being cold and then suddenly heated wasn't a good combo, but at least Solarbeam wouldn't have to charge. Shadow's eyes would be completely black as he formed the dark thoughts in his head and greatly raise his Special Attack. Then a small green orb would form in his mouth, growing bigger and bigger as he quickly gathered the sun's energy. Then the orb in his mouth would launch at Groudon and the beam of solar energy would hopefully hit it.​

"Great job boy, now try Hidden Power." I called out loud. The sun was still shining down bright. I wanted to use another powerful Solarbeam attack, but I felt that Hidden Power would be all that I needed. I just hoped I was right. I didn't want it to use Rest or stat up anymore so I was also going to have to taunt it a bit. "Also Shadow, use Taunt. Start with that. I bet Legends don't like to be taunted so he'll probably strike back hard, use Protect then counter it with Hidden Power."

Shadow nodded and began making faces at Groudon, spitting small fire balls firecrackers around his legs, one even popped in his face. I wasn't sure if he would be mad by this and just straight out attack, but that's what I was hoping for, and that's when Shadow would Protect and use Hidden Power. I hoped those small, blue, ice cold orbs would be enough to make it go away.

Taunt worked just how I wanted it too. Groudon came charging at Shadow, unfortunately, he didn't get Protect up in time and got hit pretty hard. I had timed it all wrong. However, since the Groudon was close, Shadow hit him hard with Hidden Power. That's when the Groudon decided he had enough and left. He dropped off another Santa Suit. I picked it up. "Let's see what else we find." I said, as we continued through Mt. Deckbi.​
