General Park Discussion/Feedback/Questions

Okay, Dog of Hellsing said that I can look for another Ranger to accompany me in my run in the Woods Area of the Park. If anyone would like to be my replacement Ranger, that would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, I'd like to be able to leave the Woods area....

 

Its been 15 days since my ranger has not replied. I would like to ask for a new ranger or leave Botanical Gardens.

If anyone wants to take over Chain's and TLM's Team RP in Abandoned Plant, feel free to do so. I will be on a semi-ranger hiatus for a while.

At any rate, I have an announcement to make, one I've been meaning to do for a while. As of now, the Rare/Special Ranks will be split into separate Ranks with different MCRs, which will be like this:

Rare: 35k MCR
Special: 45k MCR

Because we already have separate rates for the Ranks we don't need to worry about modifying the Encounter Roll system.

This change takes effect immediately for all battle currently going on in the Park. If you're currently battling a Rare or Special Mon, you do NOT have to reach 56k; you only need to reach the amended MCR for whatever Rank Pokemon you're battling.

As for reducing MCRs, you can still only reduce up to 20% from any Pokemon's MCR. For Rare you'll be able to remove up to 7,000 characters and for Special you'll be able to remove up to 9,000 characters.

EDIT: Also, to prevent anyone from flinging accusations, since I myself am currently battling an Aerodactyl, I'll be refraining from this and will be instead aiming for the current 56k MCR. This way no one can say I'm implementing this now for my own gain.

 

I intend to become a Ranger to remove a little congestion in this area. I don't see what the MCR adjustments will do, just yet, but I trust you head people.

Well, the adjustments will have more enter the Park and get coolier mons. Well, have a better chance at getting coolier mons.

 

Actually, the adjustments were made because I've found, several times, that it would have been easier and faster to write for an Aero Story. The Park wasn't supposed to be harder than Stories, which is the cause for the lower MCR. If it turns out that people get things too easily I'll increase it a bit more, but as it was, 56k is just too much to churn out when another person is, for lack of a better term, interfering with your Park run.

Another announcement!

After it was brought to my attention that the capture-rate calc was acting wonky, I asked DU if he might be able to whip yet another one up for us. He did so in less than a day. I've done a few calculations and everything seems in working order.

You'll notice that the new calc looks more like the reffing calc now and it's no longer an Excel one. The only thing you really have to keep in mind are the "Quality" and "Residual Characters" field, which you HAVE to put a number in for, even if it's 0. Also, "Quality" obviously equals the Quality bonus modifier.

Yet another announcement (but not an official one )

You can request for a new ranger if you've waited about a week or so without hearing anything from them. Before doing so, think about how active the ranger usually is before requesting. Keep in mind that most rangers (I think) are in college and finals usually range between Nov 2o to December 2o depending on where they go.

Also, you people that aren't rangers, try the quiz/test. If you have any questions, feel free to IM/PM/VM me (username is thedinobot)

 

Three part post:

@LM, Bumblebee is right, there are maybe four or so Rangers that post more than four times a week, so maybe think about what you might be losing before you go and request someone else. Besides, I'm fairly sure that it hasn't been a week since my last post. I'm not sure on that point, however, because I'm too lazy to check.

Second point, public apology to all my Trainers for going missing the last five or so days. My grandma just got out of the hospital, so I've had to keep an eye on her, and my local area has recently been hit by floods and plagued by locust swarms, so I've been kept a little busy. Hopefully I should now be able to return to my one-post-a-day minimum, but things are turbulent in my life right now and I cannot be sure. If any Trainers want to jump ship, feel free to, I will not be offended.

Lastly, public plea: can someone please pick up rockman0's and mine Team Power Plant run? We've been waiting for aaaages, I'm (hopefully) just about to catch a Koffing and imo it's not really fair for us to trapped on a dead run, considering we're arguably the most active Rangers on BMG.

End of rants, and it's great to be back, guys. And yes, Park posts will be up soon.

 

Well, if Chainy's back, I no longer want a new ranger. And BTW, I checked before posting. It has been a week, unless my math is off. If so, feel free to hit me upside the head. And sorry to hear about all thats happening in your life right now.

 

We have 2 new Rangers abroad. You may know them, or you may not know them. Either way, we're all one big family, so please welcome them with open arms. <3

They're also top applicants which I'm extremely proud off actually, so I don't think they'd disappoint me (you both better not!)
