URPG Milotic Evolution

We need to fix you then...

 

if we make milotic evolve by beauty then we might as well make glameow evolve by ugly.

 

Can we fix Togekiss next?

 

Everyone has already said what I would so I'm not bothering, my opinion is no.​

 

Already done because all Pokemon that don't have any beauty are ugly! THAT'S RIGHT I SAID IT.

 

so everyone should do contests to make their pokémon more beautiful! they can be fun.


I think a big problem with changing this, is that a lot of people won't be able to figure out how to get max beauty. they don't know the perfect amount of berries to do it in 10k and under, and they could end up having to reset their contest stats and trying again.
a solution to this which was mentioned before, was we could have a guide on how to reach max beauty. this would be a terrible, terrible thing. then people with no knowledge of berries and contests could easily pump out 10k to make the beauty stat of any pokemon, and win plenty of contests without even knowing what they're doing.

here's a possible solution!

an item to max the beauty of feebas.
Make it cost maybe 50% more then the lowest possible to achieve max beauty, (so 14-15k or so?) and it entirely maxes the beauty stat of feebas, allowing it to evolve. it would only work on feebas. that way people not wanting to hassle with berries could pump out the money to get their favorite pokemon. and at the same time, it would encourage people wanting an easy maxed beauty stat (that is, not having to calculate pokeblocks) to write a story for feebas to use milotic.
I dunno, just an idea. writing this literally as I'm coming up with it, so it might not be as good as it sounds right now xD

Maybe some people should actually check out the berry store and berry calculator before crying.

 

Like Pidge said, if people looked around and did their research it wouldn't be too hard. Or here's a crazy idea: they could ask a contest vet for help! But that's insane, that'd never happen! :mallet:

Yeah, because people who have every stat maxed out automatically win every contest. Just like how people with every TM on their Pokemon always win their battles.

So what you're saying is to add another element which is even further away from the games to evolve Feebas that in the end is just more expensive than the current way? In my opinion, this idea is no different than the Soothe Bell, but with added perks, and a little more money. We're not trying to make Milotic harder to get (which you seem to be under the impression of), we're just trying to use the method that the game uses for evolution. If that makes it harder to obtain then that's fine.

Hehe. I worded that badly. I think "annoying" would have been a more appropriate word. I don't like it when people don't use proper grammar/spelling; it irks me. ^_^;; In a forum like the Trainer's Court where your opinions about issues in the URPG are being considered by others, the way you write influences what people think of you, and I think that if you're trying to suggest something then you should try and make the best impression you can on others.

Not offended so much, I usually use as much grammar as I can. It just seemed really off-topic as well as unnecessary, I like to think I'm pretty low on the list of people that need to be corrected for grammar xD

The Cable Link isn't in the games and it's still used to evolve Pokemon through trading. Seeing as that's an alternative means for evolving a Pokemon that can also be evolved through another URPG means (actually trading it), that mirrors the item I suggested.

However, I don't think this item should be made, since I think Milotic is fine as it is.

 

The soothe bell itself, with the function it has, is a URPG construct; for moves like Return, a Pokemon is assumed to have max happiness already, so it theoretically wouldn't be needed anyways.

The only real reason I've seen presented to use the Beauty stat for Milotic is that it'll bring it closer to the games; my counterargument, why is that a beneficial thing? It is a single item that would (if people use the berry calcs for blending) simply go up in cost if people had to buy, then blend, berries. I fail to see how that would increase the enjoyment of people involved, and since Milotic is rare enough already, there aren't that many people involved.

In short, I don't think we need to change it.

I don't see any reason to do this, plenty of other Pokémon evolve in ways that are just simpler for this format than the way they evolve in the game. Feebas' evolution to Milotic is probably the most complicated evolution in the game, and there's just no need to bring that here.

 

Not sure if it has been brought up..but if you wanna go down the whole "the closer to the games the better" road then really eevee should evo through the soothe bell into esp/umbreon rather than that made up stone..

Personally i think it wouldnt make a huge difference, although i keep thinking this came together from Feng and Pidge, trying to boost contests...

I think maybe if there were more people with Feebas, this would be more important, but why make an already rare Pokemon more difficult and tedious to get?

If more Feebas/Milotic were floating around in the URPG, I'd say go for it, but until that happens, just leave it the way it is.

May as well comment since I think I'm the only BMGf person who currently had a Feebas, and maybe the only URPGer at the moment (WAY too lazy to go through everybody's stat pages to check)
my vote? I already bought the Soothe Bell, and I can't afford to max our beauty. Someone earlier said that it only cost 7 or 8 thousand to max out beauty. The second most expensive Pokemon to evolve once is Kingdra/Huntail/Gorebyss (and practically no one uses Huntail or Gorebyss), and that's assuming you have to buy the Link Cable. (if you've already got the LC, the current most expensive to evolve once is Happiny, at 4 K withe the Oval Stone, nearly half of what would theoretically be required for a max beauty Feebas.) so yeah...
I'm fine with it the way it is. Especially after I bought the Soothe Bell for Feebas.
