Uh, real life =/= internet life. I'm sure if you did that you'd get fired, because that's real life :3. This is a game on the internet. You never know what kind of problems a person might be having irl; when it's an easy enough matter to promote people to take a person's spot if they go inactive, I don't see the need to demote people. Sure, it might be easy enough to promote them back to Mod status once they're active again, but why bother with doing it?

The only real reason I see a need to demote anyone is if they've been inactive for a very long period of time, say several months. Another reason would be to keep the Mod list down so people don't think there are more active Mods than there really are, which could in turn make the staff look lazy when stuff doesn't get addressed.

At any rate, I do believe we're trying to fix the URPG's issues, not piling me for my opinions. DON'T PILE ME I'M FRAGILE. If you break me you buy me...wait that sounds wrong ><...

Or we can just move certain threads to URPG General instead of all this redundant hassle on whatever shared accounts. >_>

Actually you never know. I remember a while back I went inactive for like 6 months, but I never had a chance to get on a computer and say "Hey I'll be gone for a while irl crap lol kthxbai". It depends on your situation and whether you can get internet access and stuff.

XD We really could also move locked threads to the Trainer's Court from the Mod Board I guess, and maybe in conjunction with a Formspring thing, it might work out better.

I'd rather make a new archives board. I don't think the court really needs the clutter, but it doesn't really matter too much.

Hmmmm, we could do that too, I suppose. Or maybe we could tack on a sub-board for the Trainer's Court? I dunno, like you said, it doesn't really matter where we put it as long as it's not too cluttering.

A board for public Mod discussion would probably be easier though.

EDIT: Just making the Mod board visible to members would be easier actually. Can't the admins make it that certain threads within a board aren't visible by certain members? If that's the case, we could have the Warned/Banned thread remain invisible to the public, but everything else be visible.

R/ Problem 1: Sorry to burst the bubble, but half the times, there's nothing going on on that board. And when there is, either it is a continuation from w\e is posted here or something that eventually gets posted in an announcement. And before that happens, half the stuff has already been leaked outside the board. Now, I don't mind the leaking, 'cause it actually serves a purpose, but there's no point in having the whole process of realization being nitpicked by all the members and facing the inevitable and subsequent banter on AIM or where ever. It slows stuff down and most often than not it isn't helpful.

R/ Problem 2:power of officials is as of this moment:
    • General acceptor be it Mart or Starter or w/e.
    • Being a question magnet and a sanity check for members with questions.
    • Vote in bans/punishments and other official matters.
Everything else is gray and requires the official to ask him/herself whether he/she is the right person to do said thing.

That's why it's an honor system. That's why we choose people with at least half a brain - metaphorically speaking.

Yes, ST comes off as a ****, but that's his rough shell. He hates everyone equally for the most part, and he actually only singled those out that actually pissed him off. Basically, if you can get ST to get pissed off on you like that, Mike would've banned you by now.
Also, any official or mod for that matter abusing his power ends up with swift judgment being passed.
