On another note, I look forward to April 15th. I hope I can find time to battle some old friends on PE2K and maybe even become a ref the first day!

 

The 15th, eh? Is there anything prospective players have to do in advance of the opening?

 

I wouldn't think so, no. You'll just have to claim a starter and that'll be all. And then you can begin playing around.

Not true, Trapinch is a valid starter and becomes Flygon. Additionally, almost every Dragon type can be purchased at the Marketplace.

How do purchases work?

 

You have your money, you buy the Poke. Simple as that.

 

Well, apart from selling TM's/Evolution items, we also sell Pokemon at the Mart, so you can buy a few if you have the money for it xD

You earn money in many ways, one of which is via Battles.

 

What they said, but to add to that you need to get the purchase approved by a Cashier, just to make sure all the transactions are kosher.

 

I see. I suppose that were I impatient, it would be quicker to just write a story and attempt to catch one.

 

Heh. Luckily it's fairly easy to come by the money to purchase a pokemon. Most are fairly less than $10,000 and you can earn that easily with battling.

Battling usually pays $1,000 for a win and $500 for a loss.
