Well, one suggestion I could offer is mirroring the game world, with its regions. There could be a separate Gym ladder here, and a separate E4/Champion but it wouldn't prevent people from going back and forth from site to site.

Because I don't want to get stomped on by veterans, and would like to have our own "league" structure here but at the same time interact fully with those playing on PE2K.

Ironically enough, that's our most discussed topic.

Our gyms are based on each of the regions, with the addition of the Orange Islands in honor of the anime.

I do have a knack for getting to the crux of an argument.

So then all the regions are already present in the URPG?

I'm not against the extra league idea, but I just want to point out that getting stomped by vet gym leaders is a concern for every new URPG member, not just from here. That's part of the challenge, too, and part of the fun - progressing to triumph. =)

Getting off the main point here for a second, I'd just like to say that as far as general battling goes (while I can't speak for everyone), I think a very large number of vets are respectful of new members, and believe in the honor of fair play. I doubt you'd see too many coming in to try and steamroll with a TM'd out Gengar or Tyranitar at first.

And, honestly, with the constant influx of basic Pokemon via stories or the Pokemart, there are more than enough opportunities for vets and newbies to have challenging battles together on an equal playing field.

Anyway, the members here seem awesome... I really think this is going to be a great thing. =)

One of the great things about the URPG is that once you gain membership, you can't lose it, even if you're inactive for years upon years. If you take a break and later come back, you can pick up right where you left off.

The only way to lose URPG membership is to be banned from the URPG and that's due to the usual offenses such as cheating, spamming, etc.

    And Khajmer... Ewww D:

Anyway, just thought I'd chime in by saying that I've been involved in the URPG for several years and have held several positions, so if anyone has any questions, drop me a PM/VM or catch me on AIM.

    P.S *Insert Sota/Khajmer joke here*

Additionally, we're trying to figure out a way to, as was mentioned, make it fair for new BMG members to participate in URPG events, given that they will be new.

We're thinking of creating a special new member gym league, not based on any of the regions, which will be focused on new members. Only new members will be able to own gyms in such a league and only new members will be able to challenge them. The rewards for such gyms will be minor, but will encourage new members to better themselves and reach for the top.

We won't restrict any members, either. If new members are capable enough to challenge the regional leagues we already have set up, they can certainly do so. We are simply just trying to figure out the best way to integrate the two communities of URPG and BMG.

Sounds nice. I don't know if I actually have the attention span to actually participate, but sounds nice :)

As a member of the Inter-forum Logistics Committee (fancy term for "the guys making this as smooth as possible") I'd like to ask you all for your opinions on what you, our future newest members, would like to see in regards to expansion of leagues. So far the options we've discussed are:

New leagues tailored specifically for BMG and PE2K
    -One possibility is permanent ones
-Another is a temporary "Newbie League" which will last six months to a year just for people who have signed up since the opening of the BMG Branch.

    Dividing the Leagues
-Taking two of the current leagues, plus Gen V's Gyms, and putting them on BMG, leaving the other two and the Orange Islands League on PE2K.
-This option has been ruled out already for several rather obvious reasons, don't even bother trying to argue for it. I just want to make sure you all get the full scope of PE2K's arguments so far.

    Doing Nothing
-There are many on PE2K who don't want to see change, for several reasons. For starters they think that having new gyms would be bad when keeping the ones we already have stocked with competent battlers is already a bit of an issue.
-In addition, the fact is consistently pointed out that we do nothing special for new URPG members in PE2K already.

These are the main ideas circulating. I ask my fellow PE2Kers to point out the ones that I missed, and BMGers to weigh in on these ideas and throw out some of their own. Because Harry would be very disappointed if I didn't include everyone in the new extension of our family.

Read what I said on your page about locked threads and such Harry.

In addition, sub-forums need to be added to the battles forum - Tournaments; and another for forum battling, unless you'd like to eliminate that all together and just have them utilize IRC?

Samething goes for the Contest section forum - Forum contest, results, and stats.

Wouldn't worry about the Stories forum and the Library, was a failure before, is a failure now, will be a failure ten years from now.

As for the Park... from what I can tell nobody knows what the hell is going on with that thing.

A staff only forum would also be nice.

    EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW it's Khajmer :/

You know, maybe we should coordinate some sort of event that relates to the Rocket Invasion.

It's true that, by the time we open, this will all have blown over, but most PE2K members are familiar with the War and the URPG has always been a big supporter of the event. Perhaps we can take elements of that competition and apply it to a URPG-only event where people take one of two sides: Team Rocket or Team Anti-Rocket (name to be figured out later).

It will certainly be fun and allow for us to connect the URPG to BMG.

I could see that working. Food for thought, for now.

At any rate, the Training Committee's been dealt the job of scraping up new worker bees--referees, in particular. I (the committee head) would like to talk to any BMGers who'd be interested in joining up with Pe2K's URPG to be established as referees. That way, there'd be a few more familiar faces with experience for the BMG newbies. PM/IM me if you're interested, and I can introduce you to the right people 'n send you to the right places.
