This battle was pretty fast, given that it was LD. Smo and Nitro started a gym battle at the same time and they were only halfway done by the time this finished, lol.
Mega-Manectric handled Crobat nicely but took a Super Fang in the process. Togekiss thought it could take down Infernape, but a Crit LO Stone Edge knocked it down to 12%. Infernape easily cleaned up Togekiss, and then Greninja easily cleaned up Infernape. Then, Gardevoir came in and was all-threatening with Traced Protean, but Greninja proved himself to be the true Protean master and took down Gardy with some Toxic stalling. Ambipom scared out Greninja and took down Mega-Manectric, but got whittled down to the point that Jolteon could easily revenge it. Jolteon then went through Gyara easily, and when it came to a paralyzed Volcarona vs the rest of Syn's team, Ebail forfeited to save time.

Both Nitro and Smores played really well throughout. Nitro got pretty unlucky with the D/P/Pt Roars, and both Phione and Chimecho got pulled into play and were absolutely useless. Of course, none of that really mattered because Mega-Lucario killed everything on Smores's team anyway.
No, actually. Everything. Swift Swim Kabutops fell to Vaccum Waves, Cradily got wrecked by Drain Punch, Solid Rock Rhyperior got 2HKO'd and couldn't quite kill with EQ, and, Aggron got cleaned up by Drain Punch.
No, guys, it's really not that bad.

Legend Defender Synthesis: Jolteon, Togekiss, Greninja, [Manectric], Gengar, Mamoswine
Challenger Fawkes: Porygon-Z, Infernape, Banette, Mamoswine, Goodra, Lapras

The battle got off to an energetic start when Greninja was able to surprise-OHKO Mamoswine with an Expert Belt Grass Knot, giving Syn an early lead. Porygon-Z revealed itself to be Scarfed but had to lock itself into Ice Beam to hit Greninja, giving Mamoswine plenty of time to set up Stealth Rocks, which were pretty key since Fawkes had no spinner/Defogger. Lapras scared out Mamoswine in favor of Jolteon, and the Loch Ness Monster Thing was bulky enough to take a pair of Thunderbolts quite nicely, meaning Jolteon Volt Switched out instead for Gengar to do some revenge-killing. Fawkes spent a lot of time fearing the Mega-Gengar only to realize that Gengar recovered with Leftovers, and had indeed been doing so for several turns, by which point Lapras was dead. Mega-Banette and Gengar faced off momentarily, but Fawkes got the upperhand when he (correctly, and quite awesomely) predicted Syn to try to Snatch Mega-Banette's Prankster Imprison and went for the Trick Room instead. Mamoswine switched in as Banette Subbed and was able to Roar while absorbing a WoW with its Lum Berry, but even in Trick Room it was afraid to face the Infernape that it dragged in and fled to Togekiss. Nape finished off Togekiss with a pair of Stone Edges but took massive damage from an Air Slash in the process, leaving it in prime range to be picked off by Gengar again. Goodra came in, and both Goodra and Gengar walled each other very well, eventually causing Gengar to get Dragon Tail'd into Jolteon, who predicted Rain Dance/Rest and Roared, only to take an Outrage to the face. Porygon-Z, who was confirmed Scarfed back on the second turn, got dragged in here. Jolteon Protected to scout as Porygon-Z locked itself into Tri Attack, and then Syn decided to stay in and Volt Switch predicting Fawkes/PZ to predict the switch to Gengar (and also valuing Gengar more than Jolt at this point in the match), but Fawkes predicted Syn to predict his predict and as such stayed in to secure the kill with Tri Attack.
Mind games lol.
Unfortunately, this gave Gengar ripe opportunity to come in again, and it managed to pick off the incoming Goodra and protected when Porygon-Z came back in. At this point, Fawkes decided that all hope was lost and forfeited.
tl;dr: Fawkes made some pretty badass predictions, but Syn managed to play it safe and also had a more favorable team, securing him the victory

Ludicolo broke Dragonite's Multiscale with Fake Out, and then KO'd Greninja with Counter before Rotom-W picked it off. Sceptile scared off Rotom-W but was able to kill the incoming Dragonite with some Dragon Pulses and leave Meowstic heavily dented by X-Scissor. Leavanny cleaned up.

Dragonite used tricky moves like Defog and Heal Bell to put a stop to Arcanine's Reflect and Will-o-Wisp shennanigans, and it ended up pulling out of the exchange with a couple of Dragon Dances under its belt. Using these and the power of the sun, it was able to OHKO Whimsicott after cleaning up Arcanine, although it fell to Swampert. Sigilyph was able to clean up the rest with Magic Guard LO Solar Beams.

Scrafty was a monster here, and it tore its way through Cacturne and Honchkrow before finally falling to a Malamar. Malamar fell quickly to Starmie soon after, and then Mega-Houndoom tried to make a last stand with some Dark Pulse flinch shenanigans, but it wasn't quite enough.

A really interesting battle with some great plays on both sides. 3am rotation battling is really awesome! Ash's Feraligatr was a threatening monster on one side of the field with Sheer Force/Life Orb/one Dragon Dance, but Winter managed to nail it on a switch-in with Rotom's Discharge, ensuring her victory. In other news, my dice paralyzed something basically whenever it was possible, which gave the battle the hax it needed with Winter and Ash in play (but not the hax it deserved). Eventually, it came down to a Toxic'ed Quagsire versus Winter's Aerodactyl/Rotom/Crobat, and Swagsire just couldn't do quite enough, and Mrs. Winter "I'm not an E4-Tier Player" Vines won out in the end.

Lavaridge Gym Leader Ebail: Infernape, Ninetales, Blaziken, Chandelure

There were actually some pretty awesome plays on both sides. Infernape/Politoed ended with Infernape fleeing to Ninetales, who damaged Politoed a bit before Politoed switched to Starmie. Starmie trolled around with Reflect Type, sacrificing STAB Surfs for a resistance to anything Ninetales could do, but the star ended up fleeing to Crobat after Ninetales went down and Infernape came in. Crobat got tricked into being Encored into Protect, allowing Infernape to eke out a few turns of existence longer in order to survive enough to Endeavor Garchomp to 4 HP. Blaziken picked off Garchomp and threatened to be its usual nubby self, but Rock Slide missed. Chandelure came back in to make the final stand, getting up a Flame Charge before killing Crobat, who died but left a Tailwind. Politoed sacrificed itself to Perish Song Chandelure, hoping to let Starmie go for the triple protect or something, but Chandelure had enough HP to go for a Curse, which we all learned goes through Protect, netting Ebail a narrow win. Great match!

Hearthome Gym Leader Commander Badass: Chandelure, Golurk, Driblim, Gengar
Challenger Felly: Umbreon, Gliscor, Drapion, Politoed

Umbreon and Chandelure ducked around for a while, eventually leaving Chandelure with some boosts and 8% HP, leaving it happily in range to get picked off by Gliscor. Gliscor then attempted to Knock Off Golurk's Life Orb, which would allow it to live an Ice Punch, but Drifblim came in instead, sporting a fancy Weakness Policy.
We then spent about an hour trying to figure out if Knock Off was still boosted or not. For refpedia purposes, btw it is.
Anyway, Drifblim tried to go on a rampage and promptly OHKO'ed Gliscor back. It then Magic-Coated Drapion's attempts to phaze and dragged in Politoed, who averted disaster with some Swagger and smacks. However, Mega-Gengar came in and picked off Toed, and then Perish Songed Drapion to guarantee the kill.

Sableye handled Ambipom pretty nicely, burning it but losing its Leftovers in the process. It then left the switching-in Sceptile with a nasty Toxic and Taunt before letting Metagross come in to take some Giga Drains/Dragon Claws. Metagross set up Stealth Rocks and then switched to Talonflame as Sceptile tried to Earthquake and instead died to Toxic. Talonflame's Gale Wings easily wrecked Chandelure's Choice Scarf shenanigans, but Ambipom came in to die to U-Turn instead. Blaziken and Skunktank came in next, and Skunktank tried to turn things around by Snatching Blaziken's Subs. Blaziken in turn tried to turn things around by passing speed to Sableye, who got wrecked. Clefable came in next and Red-Card'ed Skunktank into Venomoth, who then Sleep Powdered. Clefable and its 129 moves used Sleep Talk, meaning we all took a break to count to 85.

There were the typical random/Fog shenanigans around, with Jesse rolling a Heracross to fight Charizard. Togekiss managed to turn things around pretty quickly, though, flinching Swampert, tanking hits from Diggersby and Gallade, and leaving a dent in Nidoqueen. Magmortar came in, burned Nidoqueen with Lava Plume, and then finished up.

Battle of the ancient titans. First, DR used his ancient titan (giant T-Rex Tyrantrum) to beat up the ancient titan (ex-Champ Xali), which took a giant bite out of Alakazam and killed it even though it was on fire. Rotom is not an ancient titan, but it came in and murdered Tyrantrum, Pangoro, Flygon, and most of Flareon thanks to an Ominous Wind boost and some clever sub-splitting. Gardevoir came in and finished off Flareon before trolling Poliwrath with some Imprison/Mimic shenanigans, and then Destiny Bonded/Encored Feraligatr until DR forfeited.

Lovecraft: Nidoqueen, Mamoswine, Gallade, Chandelure

Lovecraft rolling randoms. Delphox took out Nidoqueen, and then it turns out that a lot of Shion's team is super Mamoswine weak, so Mamo killed the rest of Delphox as well as all of Lucario and Dragonite. Mismagius finally took it down, and also managed to finish off Gallade. Lovecraft rolled in Beedrill as his last one and then decided he didn't actually want to do randoms if the matchup wasn't good, so he sent in Chandelure to destroy Mismagius instead.
