Provided you score enough for Seadra, I don't see why not. Although, taken from Monbrey's post above, I think Seadra has to be in one of them:
But I have seen pictures of a Simple mon's evolved form that have passed. I would ask Monbrey for sure on that one.

Also, Monbrey, can we add this to the rules so we can have some clear guideline on it? If it hasn't been since yesterday.

What grade would you give this, offhand? I want to know if I should submit it in my Kingdra entry or make something more realistic.

(The whole image is one 8.5x11 sheet of paper, so it's pretty small. I call it "Dream in Six Colors".)

EDIT: I am a grader now, but I am also partial to my own artwork, so I would prefer a third-party opinion.

(And yes, I know it has no neck fins, I've fixed that already.)

If I'm a curator here, can I grade artwork on the other two forums, or is it restricted to this one?

URPG is not restricted to just one forum; it includes all of them. So feel free to Curate on other forums too!

Maybe there should be a separate forum devoted entirely to the URPG.

Could I get a Gardevoir by drawing a Gallade? It's not actually an evolution, but it seems to me that I could get Gallade into a more dramatic pose...

I would say no, since it's not an under-evolution.

Dakhem, why not go for the first stages like ralts/horsea? Going to be far easier to catch than the final forms.

Because I want to make the artwork. I don't seriously need Kingdra or Gardevoir (although a Water-type would be useful and I want Gardevoir since it is becoming Fairy type).

And it doesn't take as long as battles. I already have three pieces for Kingdra, but one is charcoal and I'm planning to watercolor it as soon as I can get some fixative. Also, I'm still not sure how this one will go over.

You can still make the artwork of the higher mon and claim the lower one, as long as the lower form features in one of them, from what we understand from the rules, so you can totally make art of Kingdra and Gallade, and then provided you score enough, claim a lower evolution stage. Just because you draw the final form doesn't necessarily mean you need to catch the final form, due to the newer rule, although every art piece should be made to try and score as high as possible.

Might I suggest there be some sort of art accounts thread? Because I often share my works with other sites, and I wouldn't want to be accused of plagiarism. In the mean time, is there any other way to prove something is yours without signing your username on the art? I prefer to put my real initials on them, since I use them for things other than this.

A lot of people also use work in progress shots to prove they were working on the shot. Also, your real initials on the piece is fine--some people sign a little card with their URPG username and set it next to the art when they snap the shot. If it's digital work, a screen shot or WIP shot will work fine.

hey so I was wondering if there was any thought being put into an art event of some sort. there isn't really much activity so maybe an event would help? maybe something like a summer drawing competition or like a flash art contest or like use a specific medium or something. I dunno just some ideas ( I'd be willing to host if need be btw)

There's one in the works right now. You can ask Proto about it, it's up to her how much she wishes to tell.

Hi there! Yeah, I'm trying to put something together, but likely won't have anything actually being worked on 'til Thursday. I've been working a lot lately, but come Thursday I'll have a week off. Don't worry, I've been giving this a lot of thought, and you'll see something about it soon.

Wouldn't that require everyone to have like an iPad/iPhone? I think that's a little much...(Fawkes like the Phoenix or more like Guy Fawkes?) :p

@Proto: Eh, it isn't so hard, you could do it based on color or something like that (monochrome contest?) But that's just my idea, I'm sure you've got something better...*shrug*
