I suppose thats fine. I'd include a copy of the original too so they can see what has changed.

I assume that film would count as art, although I must ask how you will create a film with pokemon in it? I assume with Computer art/flash?

Looking at the curator test. Can you put in the info what pokemon the artist is going for. Because that would affect my grade of it :) thanks

Just putting this in here: I think people should be required to put a brief description on the PokéArt they submit, like just one or two lines (or maybe just a phrase even) saying how or what they used to make their work. Most people do it anyway, but not all. It would give curators a more concrete idea on how much effort was put in the art, and it should help verify the art's authenticity.

"Film" in the sense of animation is acceptable, but keep it mind it may take longer to be graded, as it isn't a common area of expertise for our Curators. I'd probably end up doing it myself. I'd be looking at the technical aspects of the art form, based on the structure of your models if 3D or the accuracy of your 2D images/sprites/whatever you use, how fluid the animation motion is, light source etc. As for "real life" film, or photography, this was something we weren't sure how to approach. A video taken in real life would, I assume have to have either a Pokemon model, Pokemon costume or some other representation, or have Pokemon added in later digitally (film a walk through a forest, digitally add Pokemon). In all these cases, we'd still end up looking at the merit of the Pokemon itself, and less of the video form. The detail in the costume, or the digital Pokemon editing and NOT the video of the forest that was taken.

No. Maybe that's part of the test...

Agreed. It was mentioned that doing so was advised, but I never made it a rule. I always suggest people include a couple of progress shots or at least explain how they got to their final product.

Anyone want to draw me a Magnemite, Timburr, Elektrike, Buneary, Growlithe, or Psyduck. I can trade you good stuff from mart (like 50k worth) or maybe something from stats.

I can try for a Magnemite, but it may take a while.

I saw something earlier about being able to get a previous evolution if you did not score high enough for the attempted Pokemon but scored high enough for the previous evolution. did this become rule, or was it just a suggestion? I've got 3 or 4 hours into two Grovyle drawings (and still another 5+ to go to finish them) and was wondering if I'd have a shot for Treecko if I don't quite pull off 70s.

And no, I'm not crazy. I'm just treating this like any other art piece, using it for the experience. Obviously shooting for 100, but I recognize that I'm not going to be the greatest artist the world has ever seen.

Sorry this took so long to reply to.

A rule was never really set. I'd say that at least one piece of art must feature the basic Pokemon, however the others could feature it's evolved form(s). I'll discuss this with the other Curators and see what they think on setting a rule.

Thanks. I've actually not gotten much more work in on them the last week or so due to time issues. But I'll get them done and posted and we'll see how I do.

Could I get a Seadra with one drawing of a Seadra and one of a Kingdra? Could I get a Kingdra with two Kingdras and a Seadra?

Now I have a really nice Kingdra painting, but it's too big for my scanner and :drowsy: I can't find my camera. Whatever, I'll find it by the time I've finished the other pictures.

If my understanding is correct, you can get a Seadra with a picture of Seadra and another of Kingdra provided you get enough points for it because we're allowed to go for the lower ranking mon.

You may not get a Kingdra from two Kingdra pictures and a Seadra picture because Kingdra is at the top of the ladder. Kingdra would need to be in all three.

This is how it goes for pictures attempting to catch a basic. I'm not really sure how it goes for the higher ranking mon. AFAIK you can't.

    Let's ask @Monbrey;

Hm, well IMO Seadra is actually harder to draw than Kingdra... So if I submit three pieces of Kingdra, and they don't get a high enough score, can I get a Seadra instead?
