Someone asked Monbrey about it and they don't have anything set in place for them yet.

I guess I will vouce my opinion.

For colabs I think the minimums for each pokemon should be raised by one. So for a simple mon you need to post two pieces of artwork made by BOTH ARTISTS TOGETHER and it has to get a higher score on both then usually.

Idk just an idea that would make it the section more fun?

This section just opened a few days ago. I think we have some slight balance issues that need to stabilize before we start adding more chemicals to the beaker.

    What Emma said.

Difficulty of obtaining Pokemon seems easy right now, because people who have artistic talent are going for easy Pokemon as a "lets see what this Art section is all about" approach. If 5 people had attempted Stupefying on day 1, Art section would look crazy difficult. Yes, it will probably need balancing, but so far the 5-10 attempts at Simple Pokemon aren't enough of a sample.

As for grades, Emma, what would you suggest is worth more money? I can analyze art, but not much more than "Has shadows - yes. Correct shadows - no", which is why I personally will stick to grading the more computerized stuff. Maybe an example scaffold?

As for collabs, the whole concept seems stupid to me. If its real life art, then fair enough, you're right there working on it together. Otherwise you're just emailing and photoshopping stuff, and if it takes two people to do that then you shouldn't really be earning much for it, considering that this sort of thing will generally only earn lower points anyway. A skill cap of sorts.

Yeah, ditto - except opposite. I'm probably going to focus mainly on drawn stuff/maybe light graphics.

The only thing coming to mind that could possibly be worth something like 5k is an incredibly extensive analysis of an incredibly advanced image. Like something with a story, a theme, and massive amounts of detail. While you can teach someone how to write better, you can't really teach someone how to draw better. It's a motor skill. It develops with repetition. You can give advice on certain techniques, and point out fundamentals they may have missed, but in the end you can't really educate someone in the same way you can by critiquing a story.

This means there is much less to say, which means much less effort in curating. Which also means much less time someone has to wait for a 'grade'. This should result in much less pay.

If someone comes in here with some kind of masterpiece that a curator can talk about for days, then yeah, pay them more. I just don't think this would realistically ever happen. It's taken me all of 10 minutes to type up any of these art grades; getting anything more than $500 a piece wouldn't feel right. It would still total about 2k for less than an hour of my time. That seems more than fair to me.

Just wondering, would Pokemon made of out clay/silly putty be allowed? I can draw, but I prefer Clay type sculptures, so if we could make them would they be allowed? (Or wood carvings?)

Yes, I take this game too seriously.

Definitely, yeah. We're happy to accept sculpture. Would be great if you can take some progress shots too so the Curator can see your method.

While it's not clay, this is one of our examples in the test. Made it myself from paper.

Not that I'm too bothered by this, but for what it's worth, there's an even older one for a Weedle by some new (I think) person. It should also be established in general that this section, like the Stories section, may eventually develop long wait times for Grades, and when the dust begins to settle on this section, whether that's in two weeks or two months, it should be something people adjust to.

Make a thread for it next time imo. If the other sections get threads, no reason this section shouldn't. Not if you want to promote SECTION EQUALITY

Your attitude is bullshit. I understand the frustration that comes from waiting, having spent my Stories prime during the dark days of URPG grading where stories could take a month to be graded. And certainly, I'm not helping as a mostly inactive curator. But to call us out and label it as bullshit is bullshit itself. Learn to wait, a long time if need be - that's how URPG has been for years with Stories, and nothing changes now. Higher-ups and even normal curators do what they can to reduce waiting times, but if nobody wants to do anything, then nobody wants to do anything and that's how it is on the most basic level possible. Meanwhile, complaining about Art curators disappearing right as you post your submission is simply childish.
