I think you misunderstood what rust was saying. What he said you cannot do is say that the Pokemon was captured/joined you. You can have the Pokemon being asked to join the trainer. It's just advised you don't say that he actually did.

Like Kat said, that's probably a good idea. You need to stories like that really well in order for them to be successful.

[rage] Really, Im starting to wonder if having your story posted first really gets you a higher priority. Ive noticed that EVERY story graded in the last two days were posted THAT day, while mine and many others' stories are drifting to the second page. Im not a grader, mod, or anything, but I really think graders need to check the last page first for stories yet to be graded. For example, if priority rises the longeryour story is poster, then the following story shoul be the first one to be graded

    Unfortunately, some graders just dib the first story they see. Others prefer to grade stories that have waited longer. ^^;

I say just PM a grader. Yes, it's advised you don't ask for a grade until a week after it's been posted, but honestly, with the swarm of stories here, stories are pushed back practically every five hours. Explain the situation to them, and they'll understand.

Hehe, no, I don't rage. I've never declined a grade, even if the story was posted that day. If someone does do that, I normally say, "If the story isn't graded by (insert three days later), I'll grade it."

Re: URPG Stories Chat & Feedback

I look at it this way; I put mine up Saturday morning, and people had probably already grabbed stories to grade for the weekend. (Also, people probably had things to do, since it was the weekend.) It's now Monday afternoon; I'm waiting for the results of it to see if I need to tweak it before I submit more stories. I don't really need to, though; seeing the feedback other stories are getting is helping me, so I'm able to polish my technique, and my next story idea doesn't rely on the mon I'm trying to catch.

Now, if it were Thursday or Friday, and my second story had been graded without my first having been touched, then I might feel a tad miffed, and PM one of the seriously overworked graders explaining why I want them to drop everything and read my old bit of copy. For now, I'm not worried, though.

Okay, that's fine with me. :3

Hehe, I've seen stories wait for a very long time. Three months, six months. By that time, you forget what the story was about. xD

It's normally the big stories that take longer to grade because they take a longer time to read. So if you have a 100K + story, prepare yourself for a wait. :p

Actually, if you've got a 100K+ story, it probably means you're one of the better writers, and therefore people will practically be fighting over the right to grade it.

Well, Im not writing 100K for a bellsprout. Also, with the 1000 character limit on the PS3, That would be over 100 posts!

I just stuck with around 13K-15K or so. Thats enough for a Bellsprout, who is a simple mon

I was speaking in general terms. ;)

When one of the better writers over on pe2k posts a story, *coughJesscough* it's generally REALLY long, and yet there are people clamoring for it. So yeah.

Long stories are typically for really hard Pokemon. My Aerodactyl story was 55k and my Porygon story was 78k. When you're writing for hard Pokemon (or, in my case, really enjoying the story you're writing), you write really long stories.

That's true, sometimes. I graded about four? chapters of Jess' story, and there were times where people would dibs a chapter. However, I remember quite a few times where Jess went two months without getting a chapter graded. *shrugs*

    Okey shortand sweet review.

The desciption of the story was the only bad part of it. You obviously wanted to make a picture perfect idea of what's going on to the audience, and thats good. But please, don't ramble on about a single thing. You spent a whoile paragraph describing his snoring. You can give as much description as you want, just try to keep the story flowing. You also seemed to abandon description near the end. try to keep consistant.

As for the plot,It was great, but could be improved. An original plotline like yours isn't all you need for a good story. You also need substance. For example: At the end he made a plan to catch abra, and executed it perfectly. Thats what is called anticlimatic. The originality of the story gave room for many interesting things to happen, but you never took advantage of it. I mean, Paulo offerd to pokemon...and Adam took them.

Only saw one or two grammatical errors, but quite a few typos. Be sure to run it through a spell check.

    shoot 100 characters

    imo Abra cap
