I walked through the Eastern exit to a brand new room.

Lo and behold, this room was empty.

I shrugged. This was anticlimatic, but it also saved me some work. I could simply move on to another room. That, however, was easier said than done.

In this room, there were three exits - one to the West (which was the one from which I entered), another to the North, and one more in the South.

There was no way to tell which exit was the one I should take, so I picked one at random.

"Let's go North," I announced to the empty room.

Randomly, you choose the Northern exit. Whether this was a good or bad choice, you did not know. You figured you'd find out later on. This room was also empty, save for a yellow apricorn lying on the ground.

This room was empty as well. However, in the middle of the room there was a Yellow Apricorn. I pocketed it, figuring that with the park's R&D working on turning Apricorns into functional Pokeballs, it would come in handy.

Now, I had to pick another exit to leave through. There were three exits: one to the North, one to the East, and the one I had come through to the South.

Again, I had to pick at random. A split second later, I headed towards the East exit. What would I find there? Hopefully, that would take me one step closer to getting out of this cave and finding the missing scout teams.

I walked through the Eastern exit. Unlike the past two, this one actually had a Pokemon waiting for me.

"Hoothoot!" the Pokemon cried. The Normal/Flying-type Pokemon resembled a brown owl, and had two large red eyes encircled by black rings that sprouted into horns.

    Alright, this seemed easy enough.

"Let's keep our streak going, Infernape! You know what to do!"

Once again, my Infernape appeared. I kept Infernape's Pokeball in my hand as I knew this encounter would be short-lived.

Screeching vigorously with prode, Infernape quickly identified Hoothoot as a Flying type that was weak to Electric moves, and commenced into the combination of moves that had garnered both of us plenty of success thus far.

First came Fake Out. Infernape disappeared in a flurry of footwork, and reappeared beside Hoothoot. I waited for the fireworks to commence.

"Great job, Infernape! Keep it up," I praised, returning my Pokemon to his Pokeball. He was doing exceptionally well, although I didn't expect it to keep up. I knew at some point I would have to give him a break.

Looking up, I noticed this room had only one exit - the one I came through to the West. I sighed. Coming into this room and battling Hoothoot had been a waste of time. Oh well - it couldn't be helped. I was about to leave when I saw something red on the floor. I recognized it as a Red Apricorn, and grabbed it.

Alright, it was time to move on. I turned back, and walked back into the empty chamber which I had come from.

OOC: Sounds good to me, thanks.

I exited the dead end room that had concealed the Hoothoot, and returned to the room from earlier. This one had been, I recalled, empty.

There were three exits in this room. One to the east, which was the one I had just left. There was one to the south, which I had come through to get into this room. And then there was one to the north - the only one of the three that remained a mystery to me.

It was clear to me which route to take. Going through an exit I had already gone through would, obviously, be a waste of time. I turned north, and walked through that exit.

I walked through the Northern exit into a new room.

Like many of the rooms I had recently entered, this room was without a Pokemon to battle me. However, there was a Red Apricorn on the ground. I grabbed it and put it in my pocket, more than happy to add another one to my growing collection.

Well, with no Pokemon challenge, I was free to move on. I had two options: there was an exit to the North, and another to the West.

I've had pretty good luck with the Northern exit thus far, so I decided to try my luck again. I walked straight across the room.

OOC: After this battle, let's go West. Also, is it just my luck that all my opponents (with the exception of Jirachi) have been NFE? Or is it supposed to be this way?

I walked through the Northern exit, and for the first time in a while, the Northern exit had led me to a Pokemon.

"Shellos!" the Sea Slug Pokemon cried enthusiastically.

Shellos - a Water-type Pokemon. That meant the best Pokemon to deal with it would be...

"Venusaur!" my Venusaur rumbled as he exploded out of his Pokeball.

"Come on Venusaur, let's hit Shellos hard right off the bat! Use Seed Bomb!" I ordered.

Venusaur nodded, and closed his eyes in concentration momentarily. Then, a glowing white seed was launched from the flower on Venusaur's back, aimed straight towards Shellos.

My guess was that the move would be enough to defeat Shellos. If not, however, that would not be a problem either.

Your Venusaur makes quick work of the Shellos. You find in the corner of the room a Blue Apricorn, presumably dropped by the Sea Slug Pokemon as it made its exit. This time, you choose to go west.

Venusaur quickly dispatched of Shellos with his Seed Bomb move. I smiled, returning my Venusaur to his Pokeball. We were making good progress.

As I prepared to leave the room, I noticed something blue in the corner of the room. It was a Blue Apricorn. I smiled, more than happy to acquire another one of these. I tossed it into my bag, and continued through the West exit.

    "Farfetch'd!"

The moment I entered, I heard the screeching of my next opponent. It was a Farfetch'd. The white bird was standing on the tip of a tower-like stalagmite, and brandishing its leek stalk wildly. There was a wild look in its eyes, but I suspected this Pokemon would not be much of a problem either.

    "Come on, Dragonite!" I called.

My orange Dragon blossomed out of her Pokeball, and roared majestically. The size of the Pokemon startled the Farfetch'd, and it stumbled off of its stalagmite perch. Quickly returning to its feet, the abashed Pokemon called angrily at me, waving its leek around some more.

"Dragonite, let's take this thing out quickly. Use ThunderPunch!"

Dragonite nodded, clearly irritated by the loud bird Pokemon. Her fist crackled with electricity, and she threw a punch at Farfetch'd.

OOC: Gonna assume you wanna go south, 'coz that'd the only way to go lol.

    P#19

Dragonite's fist glows with yellow electricity. She lurched forward, thrusting her arm forward and delivering a quick punch. Farfetch's tosses a popcorn ball or two defiantly before wandering off. You head south, because this is the only way to go, and you wouldn't really want to go back the way you came from now, would you? This next room also had a Pokemon - another basic creature, I might add.

Dragonite's ThunderPunch quickly defeated the Farfetch'd, leaving a small burn mark on. The Pokemon angrily quacked at me, tenderly rubbing a bruise on his chest. It threw some Popcorn Balls at me, and quickly retreated.

"Great job, Dragonite!" I called, returning the Pokemon to her Pokeball. I collected the Popcorn Balls as well, and moved on through to the Southern exit.

Another basic Normal/Flying-type Pokemon awaited me in this room.

    "Rufflet!" Rufflet shrieked.

So, I figured I might as well use the exact same strategy.

    "Let's go, Dragonite!"

My orange Dragon reappeared, clearly a little surprised to be called upon again so quickly. Then, her eyes settled on the Rufflet, and realized what I had wanted her to do. Yawning lazily, my Dragonite tossed another ThunderPunch.

OOC: After this, I'd like to go West.

OOC: Keep going West, of course. Unsure if this battle will end this turn though, but meh.

Dragonite's ThunderPunch quickly dispatched of Rufflet, and like Farfetch'd, the Pokemon left behind some Popcorn Balls for me. I threw those into my bag as well, and moved on.

According to my self-drawn map, the East would take me back to a room I had already visited. So instead, I went through the Western exit, walking into a new room and finding myself face-to-face with a new opponent.

    "Jellicent!"

A Jellicent. This was much stronger than all of the other Pokemon I had battled thus far, with the exception of the legendary Pokemon Jirachi. I knew that Jellicent were bulky Pokemon that were hard to take down. This thing could take up a lot of my time.

However, I also knew that Jellicent wasn't nearly as bulky in terms of its Defense stat as it was in its Special Defense stat. That meant Physical attacks would have much greater effect on it than Special attacks would. Additionally, Jellicent had a couple of common weaknesses on account of it being a Water-type. It wouldn't be hard for me to capitalize.

Making up my mind, I tossed Venusaur's Pokeball. The Grass-type appeared in a flash of white light, and roared at Jellicent as he appeared.

"Venusaur, use Seed Bomb!" I commanded. I had used this move plenty of times already on this journey, and it had served me well. Hopefully, it would continue to be an asset against Jellicent.
