(OOC: Basically all you have to do is role play like normal [although, slightly lower quality is okay, as we're going for speed], and make sure you choose a direction in each post. That part doesn't have to be role played, and neither does things like healing, etc. Any questions, let me know.)

I stood at the docks, waiting just as everyone else was to explore some new recently discovered caves at the park. I had been to the park on numerous occasions, so I was more than willing to go and look around one of the caves, see what Pokemon I might encounter, and just have a little fun. There was a mild breeze blowing as I was waiting, it was rather soothing before going into the unknown like this. I had always been a big fan of the park, it gave trainers a chance to battle with new Pokemon they might want, and capture them to make new battle partners, and new friends. It was a great system for everyone, so when they needed trainers to go explore some a cave or something like this people were always willing to help.

I checked my Pokeballs; I had brought my trusty Ambipom with me, my Aerodactyl who I knew would be useful with its wide movepool, Scizor which had proved to be incredible on more than one occasion, and Chandelure, my newest, and so least used Pokemon, though it was one of my favorites, and I thought the situation seemed appropriate to bring it along. I didn't know what Pokemon I might run into, but I had a nice variety of types on hand, seven in total, and short of a Water-type move I had a nice wide set of moves on hand. I was fairly confident I could handle whatever came my way. With me being sure of that I looked at my ranger, grinned, and nodded to symbolize that I was ready.

OOC: Cool, no one else you take faces something in room 1, but I do. Also it seems I'm suppose to pick a direction, so West.

IC: I was taken into the first room, and before me there already a Pokemon presented itself to battle. It was a strange Pokemon, it had a brown shell covering its top, it seemed to have two eyes on it, but then had two eyes under its shell, it was Kabuto. It seemed to be charging up an attack already, almost as if it had been anticipating our arrival. The question here was what should I use to battle the Kabuto? Both Aerodactyl, and Chandelure were weak against both of Kabuto's types, and that was a shame because with Chandelure's incredible Special Attack it could easily deal with Kabuto using Energy Ball. This run just started though, so it wasn't a good idea to have a mismatched battle.

"Well, guess when you're going to start you should start with the best. Get on out here Ambipom," I said, as I threw Ambipom's Pokeball in the air, letting the purple monkey get free on the battle field. Ambipom in terms of attack was the weakest Pokemon I brought with me, but at the same exact time it was my most useful, and in a different way my most powerful Pokemon. It could do a ton of different things, including some pretty powerful combos.

"Lets not waste any time Ambipom, you're here to just battle so don't worry about holding back. Use Seed Bomb Ambipom!" I commanded my Ambipom. There was no need to hold back, because I wasn't here for catching Pokemon, so I wasn't afraid having Ambipom lead with a move like Seed Bomb. Generally I lead a battle off with Fake Out, but due to Kabuto being part Rock-type Ambipom's Fake Out wouldn't do much damage at all, even with STAB and Technician. This made Seed Bomb the best choice, it was a pretty powerful move, and Kabuto was four times weak to Grass making it pretty vulnerable to some heavy damage.

Ambipom got in position, and was ready to strike. Seed Bomb would start off with some large, tennis ball sized seeds being formed. Non Grass-types could materialize the seeds too, though Grass-types had a much easier time doing this though, because it was a part of them. Once they ready, they would be kicked with a great force at the opposing Pokemon. Upon impact they would also explode causing the full force of the attack to be felt.

Ambipom formed the seeds, and it set its sights on Kabuto. I didn't know exactly what Kabuto was planning to do, but Ambipom was ready with its attack. Nothing like starting this whole thing off with a battle I thought.

    OOC: Still West

IC: Ambipom's attack hit Kabuto, but due to Kabuto's high defense it didn't do as damage as it could have. Normally I would have just had Ambipom use Grass Knot, but being in a cave like this using a move like Grass Knot was pretty impossible, unless the user was a Grass-type themself. So at this point using Physical attacks was really my only option with Ambipom, but it was alright. Kabuto had attempted to use Hydro Pump, this made me glad that I hadn't decided to use Chandelure, because even if Hydro Pump somewhat missed Ambipom, there was no guarantee it would have missed Chandelure the same way, and even if it did some of it would have still hit and it would have greatly injured the Pokemon.

"That was a good start Ambipom, you dealt a good amount of damage, now lets continue with some more," I said. I wanted Ambipom to battle quickly and powerfully, so I needed to take its whole movepool into account, except for Seed Bomb, Kabuto already saw it once so now it would probably be plenty prepared for it if Ambipom used it once again. In terms of powerful moves this left me with ThunderPunch, and any Fighting-type move to use. I also always liked to keep Technician in my mind when I used Ambipom in battles. Technician would take any weaker move Ambipom used, and would boost its power by fifty percent. Think of this I knew what move I wanted to have Ambipom use.

"Alright Ambipom, its still early, so I don't want you doing anything too confusing, so just use Low Sweep!" I told Ambipom, who turned and nodded.

Low Sweep was a pretty crafty move, the user would run over to the opponent, and using their leg they would sweep the opponents legs out from under them, sometimes causing them to trip. Using this move was a little tricky of course if the opposing didn't have any legs it meant using Low Sweep was hard, but Pokemon could adapt to this. This wasn't the most powerful Fighting-type attack, but as with most Fighting-type attacks it has a nice additional effect. Low Sweep would lower the speed of the Pokemon it hits by one stage. Though that wasn't why I picked this move over Brick Break, Ambipom was already faster than Kabuto, I picked this move because it would receive a boost in power from Technician making it a stronger move than Brick Break, and at this point the only thing on my mind was inflicting damage.

Ambipom started to charge over to Kabuto. Of course I wasn't expecting Kabuto to not retaliate some again, but Kabuto had four legs that could be swept out from under it, and I had faith in my Ambipom. Ambipom was a big time battler, so when a situation arose that called for its power, it could easily answer that call.

IC: Ambipom had done great work; Kabuto was hurt enough to the point where it ran away, probably to heal its injuries. I was happy because Ambipom had made Kabuto take off without taking too much damage itself.

"Great job Ambipom, you relax now, and something else will take the next Pokemon that comes our way," I said happily as I returned Ambipom to its Pokeball. There had only been one path to take in this room, and that was to the west. I was lead there by ranger, but there was no rest for the weary, another Pokemon was waiting for us in this new room. This next Pokemon was green, and blob like, it had black on its back, puckered lips, and what seemed to resemble a yellow feather on its head.

"Gulpin huh?" I asked myself, trying to figure out what would be best to use now. Ambipom just battled, and even if it wasn't hurt too badly I'd like to relax, rather than face two in a row. Poison-type moves would have no effect on Scizor, and since Gulpin was a Poison-type it wouldn't have much it could do vs Scizor. Still I wanted to try something different, so I knew what the situation called for.

"I'll use you this time Chandelure," I said as I threw Chandelure's Pokeball into the air. From it came Chandelure; a black Pokemon, with a clear head, four purple flames around its body, and one on its head, two bright yellow eyes, black lines on its face, and two skinny long arms. It was as close to a chandelier as possible without actually being one.

"I know you haven't been anywhere in the park before Chandelure, so I'll give you a warning. Poison-type moves are flammable, and you don't want to start a fire right?" I asked Chandelure, who seemed to understand me and nodded. "Well, in that case we'll need to use some of your other attacks; use Psychic Chandelure!"

Psychic was a move that could only be used by Pokemon who could use mental, or telepathic powers. It was a move used mostly by Psychic, and Ghost-types, though other Pokemon could use it too, these were the most common ones you saw using it because they could communicate with humans using telepathic powers. The users eyes would turn a bright shade of blue, and they would be surrounded by a thin layer of blue aura. The surrounding area would then distort, and turn pink, with shades of purple; this was a common effect from Psychic-type attacks. The attack would then either, cause damage to the opposing Pokemon through some mental powers, hold the opposing Pokemon still, and cause them to tighten up making them hurt, or lift them and throw them against the ground, or a wall. Either way it was a great move for distance, and it could even be used to play some defense too. If used correctly Psychic could stop, and dissolve some long range moves like Energy, and Shadow Ball.

Chandelure let out a cry, blazed its flames up a little, and set its sights on Gulpin. The battle just started, but I knew using a Fire-type vs a Poison-type meant I needed to play things in a careful way, and at a slow pace. By intending to use Chandelure like this it needed to keep its distance, and be cautious of any Poison-type attacks.

IC: Before Chandelure was able to hit Gulpin with Psychic, Gulpin managed to get in some offense of its own. It spit some weird looking acid out at Chandelure. The acid was a shade of dark green, almost what you would see coming from garbage in cartoons, and I could exactly put my finger on it right away, but after the attack Chandelure looked weaker for some reason. Like now its guard had been dropped, and it took me a minute but I figured it out.

"Acid Spray, of course," I said to myself. Acid Spray was an attack that didn't do much damage, but its real power was in its secondary effect. Acid Spray would lower the Special Defense of the Pokemon it hit by two stages, this made them much more vulnerable to taking damage now from a Special Attack. While this was bad I was at least glad that Acid Spray didn't come on contact with one of Chandelure's flames and cause a fire, or heaven forbid, an explosion. I knew Chandelure could withstand this though, I might be more worried if Gulpin knew a move like Earth Power, but since I knew it couldn't learn it I wasn't too worried, and I put this drop in Special Defense in the back of my mind, before giving Chandelure its next command.

Psychic had managed to do a good deal of damage to Gulpin it seemed. Gulpin wasn't defeated, but it was certainly showing its signs of being damaged. Gulpin was a little short on breath, so I knew I would need to make the most of this situation and follow up with a powerful attack. I had one in mind that should have had plenty of power since Chandelure would be using it.

"That was wonderful Chandelure, even more than I hoped for!" I yelled, shooting Chandelure words of praise. "Now, lets follow up with one of your best attacks. Use Shadow Ball!" I commanded the Ghost-type. Shadow Ball was an attack Chandelure was known for; while Gulpin wasn't weak vs Ghost-types, Chandelure had incredible Special Attack, and Shadow Ball was the most powerful Ghost-type Special Attack out there.

The user would start by simply building up some energy, then they would turn that energy into a ball, this energy ball was dark purple in color, and if that wasn't enough to symbolize it represented Ghost-types, the ball itself would also have several small purple spots inside resembling what could be ectoplasm, and it would constantly be fading in and out, or going transparent as a ghost might. The user would then fire the ball at the opponent, and it would explode on contact with them, causing the purple energy to spread all over the front of their body. It must be a terrible feeling too, because it has the chance to drop the Special Defense of the Pokemon it hits by one stage.

Chandelure flared up its flames once more, and concentrated. Within moments it formed the ball of energy right before us, and took its aim at Gulpin. After seeing how Chandelure preformed already with Psychic, and seeing how much concentration it had with Shadow Ball I couldn't help but ask myself why I hadn't been using Chandelure more. It was an incredible Pokemon, and even if it was a little frail it more than proved itself to be very, very useful so far.

IC: Gulpin got one more attack off before being finished off by Chandelure. Gulpin used a gooey purple ball of energy at Chandelure. It was disgusting in scent, and it looked really sticky too. It was no doubt a Sludge Bomb, the signature attack of Poison-type Pokemon. Due to Chandelure having its Special Defense dropped, Sludge Bomb must have done some heavy damage to it. I was also worried, because Sludge Bomb had a pretty high chance of Poisoning the Pokemon it hit. Thankfully I at least had a Full Heal on me for just such an occasion, but I think I was lucky, it didn't look like Chandelure was poisoned, just hurt some.

"Hey you did great out there, now you rest, and something else will take the next Pokemon okay?" I said as I returned Chandelure to its Pokeball to rest. It did a wonderful job out there, and now, just like Ambipom, it earned itself a nice rest.

I went into the next room, but to my displeasure it was a room with no exit; I walked right into a dead end, and then to make things more complicated I couldn't just turn around and walk away, there was a Pokemon in this room. It was a purple Pokemon, it had long blonde hair, big purple lips, looks as though its wearing a red dress, and is very human looking. It was a Jynx, the dual Ice/Psychic type Pokemon.

"Well, Chandelure would be perfect here, its Ghost/Fire typing would easily handle Jynx, but it just battled so it gets to rest. Besides I have something that will work even better in this situation. That's your cue Scizor," I said as I tossed Scizor's Pokeball into the air. The red Steel/Bug-type pincer Pokemon took the the field now, and let out a, "Sci-Sci-Scizor!" It was anxious to start battling, it had been so long since Scizor had a chance to battle, and it wanted to. It resembled Ambipom in two ways, both were Brave nature Pokemon, and both had the ability Technician under their belt. I think that was why I liked Scizor so much, that, and because it was given to me.

"Okay Scizor, we've walked into a dead end so we want to get out of here as quickly as possible. Use Bug Bite on that Jynx!" I yelled to Scizor. Bug Bite could be argued as one of Scizor's two signature attacks, it was certainly its signature Bug-type attack for sure. This was because Bug Bite got a power boost from Technician, this made it the most powerful Bug-type attack out there on the Physical side, and tied in power with Bug Buzz. The user would start by opening its mouth real wide, and then its teeth would turn a shade of olive green, then the Pokemon fly over to the opposing Pokemon, and bite down with all of its might. If the opposing Pokemon was holding a berry the Pokemon using Bite would eat the berry it had, otherwise that Pokemon got the full effect of the bite on their body, causing severe discomfort and pain.

Scizor stood its ground, and it opened its mouth to charge up its teeth. I didn't know what Jynx was planning, but vs a Scizor it didn't have a ton it could do. That's not to say it couldn't do anything vs Scizor, but it couldn't do more than Scizor could do to it, I was sure of that.

IC: Scizor took a big bite out of Jynx, causing it much pain. Bug Bite was a pretty powerful move, and since Jynx wasn't holding a berry it couldn't avoid any of the bite. All Jynx could do was fire off a Psychic that wasn't able to do a ton of damage to Scizor thanks to its Steel-type side. Scizor was looking good, it made me glad I brought it along with me, and now after that Bug Bite with any luck I could defeat Jynx with one more attack, and we could get out of this horrible dead end room.

"Great going Scizor, way to show off your power. Now show Jynx what you're really made off with your other signature move. Use Bullet Punch Scizor!" I commanded my Scizor. Bug Bite was one of its two signature moves, and Bullet Punch was the other. This was because it was a Steel-type move that Scizor would receive STAB from, but at the same exact time its power would also be boosted by Technician. Bullet Punch was easily Scizor's most common attack due to Technician, this is because it would do great damage vs an Ice, or Rock-type specifically. It made Scizor a Pokemon of choice to bring along to Mount Oktori.

Bullet Punch was usually either a late game move, or a move used if you wanted to knock out a weakened Pokemon quickly. This was because Bullet Punch was an increased priority move, and unless something prevented this, like another move, Bullet Punch would always strike first. The user would fly over to the opponent at a quick pace, and would punch them several times over in their midsection. Scizor, however not having fists, would just close its claws, and use them that way like fists. There was no way of knowing just how many times Bullet Punch hit, but it did hit enough to cause decent damage for sure.

Scizor hopped back a foot or two, got its claws closed, and ready, and took off at Jynx. So far this whole trip had been moving pretty smoothly, I was just hoping it could stay this way.

Jynx had been defeated with little ease. Scizor had struck it with a very powerful Bullet Punch, before Jynx had a chance to do anything in retaliation to protect itself.

"Wonderful job Scizor, you did great, now like the others you earned your chance to rest," I said to Scizor, as I returned it to its Pokeball. I was lead back into the room from where I came before the room with Jynx. The only question was where did I want to go next? I came from the South entrance, and I had already came into this room earlier from a different one, so that left me with two choices.

"Hmm, lets go to the North, I have a feeling about that way," I said to my ranger, as I pointed to the North exit. I had no idea what awaited me next, if it was another room with a Pokemon, an empty room, or perhaps another dead end. I did certainly hope it wasn't a dead end, but I wouldn't know what awaited me until I got into the next room.

We entered into the new room, and it was completely empty. "Phew, its about time I entered a room where I wouldn't need to battle, means I get a little time to myself," I said. There wasn't much to think about in this room, there were only two ways to go, the way we came from, and then to the West. I was fairly sure my choice was going to be obvious.

"I doubt I really need to say this, but this time I'm going West to the next room," I told my ranger. It was obvious that I would want to advance to a different room, but hey you never know, they could have thought maybe I'd want to go back to the room I came from, and go West there, but that wasn't my style. I planned to take each path as far as it could take me. The thing I wanted to know next though was that, would the room be empty, or would there be a Pokemon in it? Aerodactyl hadn't had the chance to battle yet, and I'm sure it was itching to get into one with something. The decision to have it battle would be based on what we ran into next.

    Y2beric rolled 1 3-sided die: 2

The dice demand I go North

IC: We exited the empty room, and the next one held an incredible surprise. "No way! Is that what I think it is!?" I said in astonishment. Before me appeared one of the rarest Pokemon in existence, Mew. Mew was one of the first Pokemon known to man, and also one of, if not the, most intelligent Pokemon out there. Mew tends to hide in seclusion, because a long time ago it was used in a horrible experiment to create Mewtwo. Mew was an incredibly small Pokemon, it didn't even weigh ten pounds. It was also known by many as being unique because it could learn every Technical Machine move. This reason is why Mewtwo was created, it was made to be a more vicious Mew, a Pokemon that could conquer the world. That wasn't my concern now though, I was just privileged to have the chance to face Mew in a battle.

"This is incredible, Mew is right here before my eyes. I know I wanted to use Aerodactyl next, but a special occasion like this calls for my favorite. You're up again Ambipom!" I yelled, as I had Ambipom reappear to battle again. This was a rare chance indeed, and I wanted Ambipom to be the Pokemon responsible for this battle. The twin tail Pokemon knew this too; you could see in its eyes that it was really looking forward to this battle, and it should have been, its not every day you get to battle a Legendary Pokemon you know.

"Alright then Ambipom, start the battle off with a dual Ice and Fire Punch!" I commanded Ambipom

Ambipom was given two separate, but similar moves. One was a punch based on the Fire-type, and one based on the Ice-type. One had the chance to cause a burn, and one had the chance to cause a freeze. In the case of Fire Punch, the users hand, or in Ambipom's case tail, would start by glowing red. It would then heat up, and soon thereafter a mighty blaze would erupt from it. The user would then punch the opponent with its blazing hand, and spread the flames all around their body. With Ice Punch the users hand would start off by glowing blue, eventually it would chill over to a freezing temperature, and their hand would freeze. They would then punch the opponent, breaking the ice on them, and causing the freezing cold air to spread around the Pokemon's body.

Ambipom got ready, and its left tail started to charge the Fire Punch, while the right charged the Ice Punch. Mew was no doubt a crafty battler, it had to be to avoid humans, so I knew I would need to do fancy tricks like throw two different attacks in its face at once, this way it would be baffled a little, and maybe get confused when trying to defend.
