Jay had quite the situation in front of him. Kangaskhan wasn't weak enough to be captured just yet, but at the same time Togekiss was pretty beefed up with its Special Attack being at plus two. If he wasn't extremely careful here he could very well knock this thing out, and therefore make it uncapturable. I'm sure Jay knew this though, what with this not being his first time inside the park, so I was sure he had something in mind.

"Togekiss," Jay called out, to get his Pokemon's attention. Whatever he was telling him though I could barely make out, all I could really catch was the ending, "and then we will switch Porygon-Z into Kangaskhan. Try not to hurt it too badly."

Oh well that's fantastic, I hardly caught any of that. Wish I knew what he was planning to do.

You should get your hearing checked, I caught all of that. It seems he wants his Togekiss to first use Extremespeed in order to get close to Kangaskhan quickly, and then he wants it to follow up with a Brick Break in order to deal damage. Once that's done he wants Togekiss to Baton Pass to his Porygon-Z, which is why you heard about him swapping it in.

Well I was glad Gardevoir knew what was going on at least. It seemed Jay wanted to do the old hit and run strategy, though I wasn't sure if he just wanted to protect Togekiss from further damage, or if he just thought that maybe Porygon needed to deal the final blow. I wasn't really sure here, but I guess I'd find out shortly.

Togekiss got in place, and started to build up some speed, by charging his energy into his wings. Extremespeed was a move that would quickly strike the opponent, generally before they could hit you first. Though in this case it seemed just that Jay only wanted the speed from Extremespeed, rather than damage. Maybe it was because he felt Kanagskhan was bulky, and might just bounce the attack right off, or maybe it was just because he wanted to use something he deemed as more power, and didn't wanna hit it with two attacks. I wasn't sure, but that didn't matter now.

Togekiss flew off at his foe, and before he connected head first, it took its right wing, and made it like it was a hand using a chop. Brick Break was a Fighting-type move that would chop at the foe, causing them some decent damage. In doing this it would also break away the barriers Light Screen, and Reflect. In this case though there were no barriers to smash away. Togekiss reached its opponent, and gave it a good chop to the midsection. In response to this, Kangaskhan took her right hand, and made it into a fist like it was was gonna punch him, but unfortunately for it Togekiss didn't hang around long enough. It then took its stats, hoped back into its Pokemon, and transferred them to the Porygon-Z who came in, and also glowed signalizing that it downloaded something. In this case it was Special Attack, meaning that the duck looking thing now had plus three in its Special Attack.

This wasn't a time for it to be happily in there though, since Kangaskhan threw an off balanced punch at Porygon. It was using Dizzy Punch, a punching move that wasn't the most powerful, but it could cause confusion. The punch seemed to have very little force behind it, and did almost next to nothing. This was a good opening for Jay, since Kangaskhan seemed to have a lot of trouble trying to catch her breath.

Luckily for us, the plan had worked. As Togekiss chopped the Kangaskhan with his strong wing and used it to pivot, he was brought back into his Pokeball, and just at the right time too. Porygon-Z came in just to take the Dizzy Punch from Kangaskhan, that seemed to really lack in power compared to how strong that I knew the Kangaskhan could me. Porygon-Z looked practically unscathed and he had just lost the momentarily blue glow accompanied by his ability, Download. This meant his Special Attack stat, combined with the boosted Special Attack from Togekiss' Nasty Plot and Baton Pass was very high and I really couldn't afford to use a Special Attacking move.

What we needed was something fast and lacking in power. Something that was Physical and that always hit. One move came to mind. Aerial Ace. This involved Porygon-Z lunging forward and tapping into Kangaskhan, possibly knocking her over. It was blindingly fast, but did hardly any damage. This Kangaskhan was weak and I wanted to catch it after getting in even a little damage.

"Use Aerial Ace on Kangaskhan. But make it VERY weak," I said, putting a lot of emphasis on the very. I pulled out a Park Ball and flung it as Porygon-Z shot forward, straight towards the still paralysed Kangaskhan.

Jay looked over at this Kangaskhan, and then once at his Porygon, before once more looking at Kanga. He didn't seem like he was too pleased with how it looked. I was actually surprised by that, since it was both weak, and also afflicted by the paralyzed status, meaning it shouldn't have been too hard to secure a capture. Then again though some Pokemon put up tougher fights than others, and everybody wanted the secure captured feeling. I guess it wouldn't be too shocking if Jay had Porygon do an attack, but he'd need it to be something really weak, such as Tackle.

"Use Aerial Ace on Kangaskhan. But make it VERY weak," Jay commanded, making sure he was very specific in emphasizing the word "very". Well that was in fact not the best move in Porygon's reserves. Not only was it a lower power move, but it also was a Physical attack, and it didn't receive any STAB from it either. I guess this would be okay as long as Porygon really held back, and Kangaskhan didn't do something like Double-Edge. Oh that would be painful to watch. The Pokemon Jay spent a long while going for finishing itself off. If he was smart though he'd throw the ball instantly after said attack though.

Porygon-Z charged up its right arm, and slashed at Kangaskhan's chest in a very faint way. Aerial Ace was a Flying-type move that you generally don't see miss, but at this point that didn't even matter. Kangaskhan was so weak, and due to her dropped speed she had no effort to get out of the way. Before it could do anything though Jay pulled out what appeared to be an ordinary Park Ball, and threw it at Kanga. It sucked her in, and started to shake on the ground. Much to my surprise it seemed she still had fight left in here, since she wasn't instantly captured. What came next though was even more surprising. She actually broke free of the Park Ball, and appeared back in front of us, though now she was struggling to even catch her breath. She more or less exhausted whatever she had left in that last effort.

Though she was weak, Kangaskhan still had willpower. She tried to mount another attack, but alas it was pointless. The paralysis came into effect, and it prevented her from moving. "It seems you'll need to try again Jay," I said to him, as I took notice of the Park Ball he used being placed behind Kangaskhan. I'd go over and grab it for him, seeing as how it appeared to be perfectly intact, but due to how woozy she looked, I was afraid that Kangaskhan would fall on top of me when I went over there. It was okay though, if I remembered right Jay had more balls on hand, so he could just reclaim this one afterward.

Porygon-Z shot forward and slammed into Kangaskhan, stopping just before crashing into it. It slashed out with one of its two arm like limbs and the Kangaskhan grunted in pain. It looked like it was going to move or say something, but it was momentarily engulfed by some weak paralysis and this Kangaskhan was far too weak to do anything about it.

The Kangaskhan was sucked into the Parkball I had thrown, but after just two mere wobbles, it bounced out of it, looking rather defeated. The Park Ball was too far away for me to run over and grab it so I pulled out another one. I could hopefully pick up the ball I had just thrown in a minute. Right now though, I pulled out another Park Ball and prepared for another capture.

I tossed it at the very defeated looking Kangaskhan.

Jay looked surprised that he hadn't successfully captured this Kangaskhan. I couldn't blame him though, because I really thought it was done for the count, but it must have had some truly strong willpower to keep going. Jay didn't give it up at that though. He pulled out another Park Ball from his bag, realizing that the one he previously used was too far away. He tossed this one now, hoping for better results. This would be something truly outstanding if she managed to break free from this ball as well. It sucked in Kangaskhan, and though there was a little resistance, this time it was a success.

"Congratulations Jay, that was rather impressive," I said as I walked over to the newly caught Pokemon's ball, and placed it into my pocket. While right there I picked up the unused ball, and threw it at Jay. "Here you go, it seems to be in perfectly good shape in reusable," I said as I tossed it to him. "So since I came in mid-battle I never did get to properly introduce myself. My name is Gary, and I'll be taking you through here until you decide you want to leave. Once you're ready we can keep going," I said to Jay, unsure if he had a Voice Disk or something to use before I just instantly kept leading him along here.

The Kangaskhan was sucked into the second Park Ball and it began to roll about again. This time however, it drew to a sudden halt, which told us that we had successfully captured the Kangaskhan. The Ranger picked it up and stowed it away before tossing me back the Park Ball I had used before. It was still in good condition it seemed, which was good.

After, he introduced himself as Gary and I shook his hand, telling him my name was Jay. He asked if there was anything I wanted to do before moving on. I nodded, and took out the PokePlayer with the Ferroseed Voice Disk intact. I then pressed the play button.

Jay walked over to me, shook my hand, and told me his name. I was glad I'd waited before I took him to find another Pokemon, because he pulled out his PokePlayer, and inserted his Ferroseed Voice Disc. Upon further examination I had noticed he had a Kangaskhan Voice Disc as well. I didn't know how many times he used it, but from what I saw that was his fifth encounter, so if he had only been using that one then it worked on its final try. That didn't matter right now though, and so I continued, or rather started to, lead Jay on his way.

We started to walk along. There was a nice breeze hitting the area, and the sun was shinning. It was a beautiful day to be out here. Course the scenery was nice and everything, but I knew we were here to look for Pokemon. I looked around, in every tree, and bush, and there wasn't really much of anything in sight that hung around for a battle. I was also doubtful that Jay's Voice Disc would work at this point since a Ferroseed wasn't showing up. Still though I kept my eyes peeled for anything, and in doing so a few minutes later I saw something there. The greatest Grass-type Pokemon of all time.

What we ran into was a little seed-like Pokemon, that had a small green sprout growing out of the top of its head. Its body was generally yellow, though it had three brown stripes on its body. One under its mouth, and one that runs across each eye to the bottom of its body. Its eyes were also brown in color. It seemed to resemble a sunflower seed, because well it would evolve into what appeared to be a sunflower.

"So Jay, it isn't a Ferroseed, but it is what some consider the greatest Grass-type Pokemon of all time. Want to face this Sunkern?" I asked, rather sarcastically.

After playing the disc, the machine gave out a strangled sort of cry and I couldn't help but shudder. Ferroseed wasn't a Pokemon I liked very much, but I already had a disc of one so I figured why not at least try for one, as they are reasonably rare. I had a Kangaskhan disc and a Tropius disc that could be used in this area too, but the Kangaskhan one was disabled for now, and the Tropius one wasn't too helpful because I already had one waiting at home.

A light breeze began to blow as we strolled along. It was a nice relief from the warm sun's rays and it would surely encourage Pokemon to come out and enjoy the lovely weather. After a few minutes we found one of the most fearsome Pokemon I had ever seen. The yellow and brown Pokemon had menacing red eyes that seemed to bore into my soul.

"Wow, man. We need to get away from this tough Pokemon. I heard it turns you to stone by looking into its eyes. I don't mind having to pay to get rid of this fearsome monster! I have 17,000 which will be 16,500 if I have to buy a Pokedoll.

"Wow, man. We need to get away from this tough Pokemon. I heard it turns you to stone by looking into its eyes. I don't mind having to pay to get rid of this fearsome monster! I have 17,000 which will be 16,500 if I have to buy a Pokedoll," Jay said in response to look at this Sunkern. I could see the fear in his eyes as he gazed upon this clearly deadly creature. He didn't wanna get into a fight where he felt he was going to be outclassed, so he agreed to try to run away, or would buy a Pokedoll should he not be able to run.

I started to slowly lead him around this guy, trying to make no sudden movements. We were able to get around Sunkern, and quickly be on our way before it decided to try to fight us. I guess it figured we weren't worthy of fighting with it, which was fine by me. With this now we could keep going along, and see if we run into anything. At this time though I had noticed that Jay didn't press play on his Voice Disc again. I didn't know if that was because he'd given up on it, or if he simply just forgot after being terrified. Either way though it was now up to the hands of fate to see what he'd come across next.

We walked for about another ten minutes, until we reach a group full of trees. From one of the of the trees I noticed some shaking from the top, and some rustling leaves at the top. This made me believe that something was hanging around up there, but I didn't know what. The tree wasn't too high up, so I climbed up it, and shook the top. This either startled what was there, or intrigued it. It was a furry, gray colored Pokemon. It had scruffy spots of fur on its head, the inside of its ears, and its neck or chin. There wasn't really much to how it looked aside from that. The only other things were that it had a very furry, long tail, and particularly large ears. As well as large brown eyes. In a way, it kinda reminded me of an Aipom, only it wasn't a monkey.

"Would you care to face this Minccino?" I asked Jay.

My Ranger Gary seemed to agree with me and I made a mad dash to get away from this horrifying creature. I ducked my head and began to sprint away from the horrifying beast, afraid to look at it anymore. I didn't know where Gary had gone too, but it was every man for himself right now. Finally, I stopped. I looked around to see Gary strolling along as if it wasn't the most terrifying thing he had ever seen.

"Mother of God," I muttered to myself.

We began to walk, both supressing memories of the horrible encounter. I shuddered at the thought, but within about ten minutes or so, we encountered another Pokemon. It was at a cluster of some tightly packed trees and we both heard rustling from above. Gary jumped up and began to climg the thick tree, shaking the branches when he had climbed up a little. A little grey furry Pokemon dropped down. It landed on the ground and looked up at me with bright chestnut coloured eyes.

"Would you care to face this Mincinno," Gary asked.

I took another look at the cute little thing and knew my answer immediately. "Sure, it seems like it could be a nice assett to my army of basics," I noted. "Come on out, Alakazam," I said.

I tossed his Pokeball and the wizened form of the highly intelligent Alakazam materialised. "Zam," it wheezed, eyes focusing on the opposing rodent Pokemon. It twisted the spoon around in his hand, clearly concentrating on the opponent. Probably assessing it and finding out its biggest weaknesses.

"Alakazam, I want you to start off with a Tri Attack." I knew that this would probably be our best bet in order to inflict a status condition on the Mincinno and do some damage too. Alakazam was a master of Specially based attacks and it could twist them to its whim. "I want you to focus on the Fire aspect of this attack," I finished.

Alakazam nodded and his brow slid down with concentration. The glinting silver spoon was spinning around as Alakazam's dark coal like eyes burned a dark red colour. He took a step back tentatively, before thrusting his two arms forward. I knew this from before and it was meant to channel all of the required energy into a form, such as a sphere, so that the Alakazam could manipulate it to shoot at the opponent. It was also rather intimidating on occassion.

Jay took a pretty quick glance at what appeared before him, and within seconds he seemed pretty sure of what he wanted to do. Couldn't particularly blame him since Cincinno was pretty good. I wanted one, but I didn't have such luxury right now.

"Sure, it seems like it could be a nice assett to my army of basics. Come on out, Alakazam," Jay said, as he sent out the one Pokemon who had yet to make an appearance so far during this run. It did seem to have a nice variety of moves, though I figured he'd just keep out Porygon-Z and have it battle, since it didn't do too much while it was in its previous battle.

"Alakazam, I want you to start off with a Tri Attack. I want you to focus on the Fire aspect of this attack," Jay commanded. I knew what he was after. He was hoping that Tri Attack would cause a status since it had a one in five chance of doing so essentially. In this case he was clearly hoping for a burn given the nature of his command, but I don't know. Things were just getting started, so I had to wonder how Minccino would react.

Alakazam got into position. Tri Attack was a Normal-type, that seemed to focus around three of the other elemental types. Those being Fire, Ice, and Electric. Because of this from the chance of inflicting a status in Tri Attack it would be divided three ways between those types. Meaning that it could either cause a burn, a freeze, and a paralysis. Though the chance of getting the status you wanted was slim since you first needed to hope a status happened, and then it was only a one in three chance of getting a specific one. Though who knows what would happen.

Alakazam formed a circulating ring of energy around its waist. In this ring there were three different colored balls, representing their specific types. It fired the attack at Mincinno, with the red orb seeming to contain the most energy. When it hit you could see a wave of fire surround it, followed by a few shocks of electricity from the yellow orb, and a few shards of ice from the blue one. The attack did some damage, though Mincinno seemed to just more or less shake it off, showing no signs of any status inflictions, and ready to do some damage of its own.

It dashed over at Alakazam, and jumped up in the air. After doing so it turned around quickly, and slapped Alakazam several times over with its tail. It had been using Tail Slap, the signature move of it, and its evolved form. This didn't help me figure out which Ability it had though. It could have still easily had either Technician, or Skill Link. I guess only another round of battle could show which it was, but by then who knows what would be happening.

Alakazam gave a flick of his old looking wrist and three spheres of red, yellow and a bright cyan colour formed. As Alakazam moved its hand around in a circular motion the three orbs began to spin around faster and faster. With a tilt of his head, the Tri Attack shot forward. The Mincinno didn't seem too caught off gaurd by this attack but it didn't make any effort to dodge it.

The Mincinno gave a little yelp as the attack hit it and its tail shot up straight like an arrow. The flames engulfed it for just a moment, before cackling electricity and frozen shards followed up. The three elemental attacks all began to fade after no more than a second each and the Mincinno was back to nprmal almost immediately, it didn't even look like it had taken a hit.

I sighed when I saw how little the attack sid. It was almost impossible to tell whether it was because I handm5 used Alakazam in a while, or whether this wa one hell of a tough Mincinno. In fact, it probably was a combination of the two attacks.

Suddenly and without any warning, the Mincinno shot forward, bouncing around as it shot towards Alakazam. It jumped up high into the air, using the glaring sun's light to mask its body for a split second, before doing a little pirouette and slamming its tail into Alakazam repeatedly. Once, twice, three times. It must have hit at least that many times. Its tail strikes were just a blur as it attacked so quickly. When the Mincinno bounced back, Alakazam looked a little dazed, but not really too bad. The speed of the Mincinno was probably the biggest threat that this Mincinno posed and I knew Speed was a very dangerous thing to face in any battle.

""Alakazam," I called him. I had an idea, but whether it would work or not, I didn't know. "Use Encore and try and smack it with a Zap Cannon because we'll know what exactly it will do. Be wary of the speed though."

Jay seemed a little disappointed by how little Tri Attack seemed to do, but hey Mincinno was a fresh Pokemon, and fresh ones usually had enough energy, and endurance to take a hit or two before some serious damage really started to show up. Still though he did at least let this little guy know that he meant business. But I did wonder what was next. Alakazam didn't have the best defense, and Mincinno could have been carrying the Technician ability which made all of its weaker attack stronger. It was certainly going to be interesting to see how things ended up turning.

"Alakazam, use Encore and try and smack it with a Zap Cannon because we'll know what exactly it will do. Be wary of the speed though." It seemed as though Jay was planning for an instantly paralysis. Not only that, but he was also trying to force what move Mincinno would be doing. His experience was certainly showing, since he was attempting to control how the battle would go.

Alakazam stuck its hands forward, and caused a light to appear on Mincinno, and then Alakazam started to applaud. Encore would cause the opposing Pokemon to repeat using the same move for a couple of turns to come. It was good to use against a move such as Dragon Dance, or something. Jay would need to be cautious if Encore worked here though, because Tail Slap did a decent amount of damage last time, and for that to keep repeating itself would be pretty bad. Guess we could only wait and see what was going to come from this.

Alakazam focused the Encore on Mincinno, but it didn't seem like it was doing much of anything at all. Rather than hang around to see if it was fully executed, Mincinno jumped at Alakazam, and slapped it a few times across the face, and midsection. It had used Double Slap, a move that would hit multiple times like Tail Slap, but a move that also pretty much taunted the foe. Not in the sense of using Taunt, but more like it trying to fluster the opposing Pokemon into a rage. The attack didn't do that much, but it did seem like it managed to get on Alakazam's nerves. Fortunately for it and Jay though it managed to keep its composure, and keep a clear head.

It once again extended both of its arms forward, and then electricity started to flow down its arms, and form a ball in front of itself. This was like a medium sized attack when it was all said and done, but unfortunately it was also very slow moving, and therefore it was somewhat inaccurate. However the rewards from it hitting were worth the cost. That as because if this attack hit it would instantly paralyze the foe. Alakazam fired off the blast, but Mincinno simply just jumped up to avoid it, though unluckily for it, its long tail hung down, and got hit by the attack somewhat. Since the move didn't hit full on Mincinno wasn't instantly paralyzed, but you could see traces of it starting to spread around its body. Soon enough it would become paralyzed, and everything that came along with that would be applied to it too.

Alakazam soon broke into applause and the Mincinno looked quite confused. I guessed in its young life the Mincinno had never been subjected to this very unique move. It forces the user to repeat the same move over and over again, anywhere from three to five turns in a row. This would be great in forcing the opponent to use a move that works once, but has little effect later on. That allows your Pokemon to attack them, or even better, to set up on the opponent and then proceed to KO them.

However, this was not one of those situations where Encore proved to be very effective. The Mincinno seemed to more or less ignore the applause from my Alakazam, except for blush a little at the sudden attention. I wa still a little shocked to see the Mincinno dart forward and slap Alakazam rather weakly. Alakazam grunted a little before proceeding to the Zap Cannon move. The Double Slap move had pretty much done nothing that would last very long, but the sly cheeky slap was a little rude if anything.

Alakazam fired the dark ball of electricity at the Mincinno. It zoomed straight through the air, whizzing past me and I could hear the electricity cackling. The acrobatic little Mincinno jumped backwards, performing little dodges and somersaults to avoid the attack, but being young and somewhat inexperienced as it was, it managed to avoid most of the attack, but a small edge of it clipped the Mincinno. I watched intently as the blue electricity coated the furry little body. Mincinno shuddered a little, but it was back in play within a few seconds, ready to take on anything Alakazam could throw at it.

"Alright, Alakazam. That didn't exactly go as well as we could have hoped. Buuuut, don't worry," I said, trying to manage a reassuring voice, "we can still use your superior movepool, natural ability and battling expertise to our advantage. Without a doubt. Do you have any suggestions what you want to do? You can lead this if you want."

Alakazam eyes began to twinkle a little as it looked at the pesky little Mincinno, almost as though it reminded him of himself when he was younger. However, Alakazam was very professional and he wouldn't let his emotions or anything affect the battle, unless he felt it was absolutely necessary. His eyelids slid shut and he raised his arms, quivering them slightly. He began to hum to himself, something I had witnessed him do many times before. This was a Psychic attack, but what form it took depended on how Alakazam interpreted it. The ground around Mincinno could explode suddenly, Mincinno could be thrusted into the air, or those branches could spring to life and twist around Mincinno, hurting it or holding it in place.

One thing was for sure though: Psychic used by Alakazam was one hell of a diverse move and it was extremely unpredictable. That was both helpful and very un-reassuring. But, I trusted Alakazam and knew he could do well in this situation.

Jay appeared to examine the situation at hand. He noticed that Zap Cannon somewhat hit, so he knew that Mincinno would soon be paralyzed. Though it still had a good deal of fight left in it. It was actually surprisingly tough. I was shocked to see it being able to withstand, and avoid all of these powerful moves, and then keep going back out there for more. I wonder what Jay thought about it, and how things were currently. Either way though I'm sure he had something in mind here...or maybe not.

"Alright, Alakazam. That didn't exactly go as well as we could have hoped. Buuuut, don't worry, we can still use your superior movepool, natural ability and battling expertise to our advantage. Without a doubt. Do you have any suggestions what you want to do? You can lead this if you want." This would certainly be interesting to see. Jay had given his Alakazam full command to do whatever it pleased. Heck for all I knew it grew tired of battling, and would just decide to lay down and take a nap. I doubted that one since it seemed to be a pretty loyal Pokemon, (I mean you would think it would be, if Jay gave it complete control to just do whatever it pleased) but hey you never knew what would happen until it happened.

Luckily for him Alakazam seemed to have a good attack choice in mind. It took a stance I'd seen numerous times before, several of those times from my Gardevoir over here in fact. He stuck his arms up, and his eyes began to glow a shade of blue. Alakazam was using Psychic. It was a move that could go a few different ways. It could just make the ground around the foe explode, it could cause a shockwave sending them flying back, or it could just simply pick the foe up, and restrain them in place, and then slam them into the ground, or a tree, or something. Mincinno noticed this stance, and started to charge at Alakazam, but before it could get too close, a pink aura surrounded it, and it couldn't move a muscle. It was thrown up into the air, and came crashing into the ground.

This wasn't it for Mincinno just yet though. The little guy still had fight in it. Since Psychic had to be worn off in order for it to be thrown, it must have been able to slightly lessen the impact, though not by a ton. It then charged at Alakazam like it tried to before, the threw its tail at the Psychic-type like it was throwing a kick to the face. It had used Pound, just your straight up damaging attack. Alakazam took a moment to rub its face, to try to get rid of anything it felt from that attack, and at that time things started to turn worse for Mincinno. It seemed as though the effect from Zap Cannon was finally slipping in, and now blue waves of electricity were circulating around the little guy. It may have taken some time, but Jay finally managed to get a status to work, and now things weren't looking too good because of it.

As Alakazam's eyelids darted out, his pupils were revealed. They had changed into a deep violet colour and were darting to and fro erratically. A dull pink hue encased the Mincinno and it was tossed up into the air. The little fluffy Pokemon's limbs flailed about helplessly as it shot upwards, before gravity began to take effect and it was brought crashing down. It hit the ground with a sickening thud, and just before I could go and check that the poor Normal type Pokemon was alright and that Alakazam's attack wasn't too powerful, it leapt up to its feet.

Mincinno was not going to stall this out and allow either Alakazam time to recover, or even itself. It shot forward and slammed into the elderly-looking Psychic type with an outstretched tail, knocking Alakazam a little off balance. Ever graceful, Alakazam merely nodded, still unblinking, and maintained its original position. It was a little creepy, but hey -- if it worked, it worked. Just then, before Mincinno could even attempt to retreat back, a jolt of paralysis from the Zap Cannon earlier shot through Mincinno's body.

I watched the little blue sparks leap up and down its body before sinking back into its skin. However, something was different this time. I could tell the charge was much stronger as Mincinno's hair began to stand on one end and it began to give a low threatening purr. I felt bad for the poor little fellow, but there wasn't really much I could do now, or was there? I sighed and decided to just try and weaken it just a little bit more and then i would try and make the capture. The little Mincinno wouldn't have to endure the pain much longer hopefully.

"Alakazam, try and hit it with a Psybeam. Use the energy to knock the Mincinno back into that tree over there," I said, raising my hand and pointing at the large oak tree Mincinno had fallen from in the first place.

Psybeam was created by the user channeling all of their psychic powers into one very fine oncentrated beam. The energy can come from energy conjured up telekinetic-ally, from light that the Pokemon has absorbed or from any part of the environment really. The stored up energy would all be shoved out rather suddenly, creating a beam, similar to Ice Beam in looks sometimes, that tended to daze the opponent by its suddenness or how bright it was. Quite a handy move to have around when used in the right situations.

Jay didn't seem to happy with things. I mean, from a battle standpoint he seemed alright with everything, but didn't seem to pleased that Mincinno was paralyzed, and that it was hurting. Though earlier he tried to score a burn with Tri Attack it seemed, so that would have ended up being even worse. It was almost over though, so neither side would need to endure this for much longer now. Though Jay still needed to do some more damage before he could have a more secure capture.

"Alakazam, try and hit it with a Psybeam. Use the energy to knock the Mincinno back into that tree over there," he commanded, as he pointed to the tree Mincinno fell from. That command seemed a bit odd. He didn't look happy causing this little creature pain, but then he said to send it flying back into a tree, which you know would be bound to hurt. Unless of course he intended to send it back into the tree, rather than make it actually crash into it. Though in doing that he would be replacing it back where it was covered up, and give it the chance to strike without Alakazam seeing it coming. I didn't really understand his frame of mind, but I wasn't going to question him either. This was Jay's battle, and he could do whatever he wanted.

Psybeam was kind of like a weaker version of Psychic. Rather than trying to control the foe, or the area surrounding them, this move would release a beam, or ray of Psychic energy. It wasn't as powerful due to needing to convert the attack. Though in this process it did manage to have a chance of confusing the foe. Alakazam put its arms forward again, and formed a small sphere of energy in front of itself, which started to glow pink, yellow, and blue in color. Mincinno saw this, and did what it could to try to get away, but it was still reeling from Psychic. The sphere then turned into the ray, which was composed of many different rings of energy which were the same color. The attack hit Mincinno, and sent it flying back into the tree. As it got close to where it fell out from, it ended up hitting a branch, causing it to snap, and Mincinno to start to fall along with it.

Things weren't looking good at all for the creature now, but it managed to summon up whatever energy it had, and bounce back. Despite being paralyzed, as it was falling Mincinno kicked the tree behind it, and launched itself at Alakazam like it was a torpedo. It didn't have enough speed though, since Alakazam was able to essentially avoid the little guy. Though it did manage to clip the Psychic-types right leg, causing it to come crashing down to the ground along with it. Mincinno had used Slam, a somewhat powerful Normal-type move where you attacked the foe with your body. It did a little damage, though that very well may have been Mincinno's last gasp, and it may have burned out any energy it had left right there. But who knew until everything were said and done, since sometimes Pokemon were tricky, and had levels of reserves.

The Psybeam burst free from Alakazam and shot towards the startled Mincinno. The little grey Pokemon was struck dead on in the chest and sent flying back. It sailed through the air, tail flicking back and forth frantically, before it crashed right into the tree we were hoping it to hit. It smacked against a branch, which fell letting it fall straight to the ground.

"Bingo," I muttered underneath my breath. Alakazam could really hit on target when he tried, a very handy ability to have around when in need of hitting a moving target. "Alakazam, hit it with a very light Confusion. Be very careful with this attack because we don't want to knock out the little Mincinno, just make it slightly confused. That way, making a capture will be much easier."

Alakazam nodded as I took out the Park Ball we had picked up earlier. Alakazam began to shoot yellow strings of Psychic energy as I tossed the Park ball.

"Bingo," Jay muttered under his breath, when he saw how things worked out. Mincinno was more or less defeated, and Alakazam hadn't ended up taking too bad of a beating. But I did wonder if he was going to instantly attempt a capture here, or if he was going to throw another attack at it first. It was fairly damaged, and it was also paralyzed too, so it was possibly able to be captured now, but ultimately it was Jay's decision.

"Alakazam, hit it with a very light Confusion. Be very careful with this attack because we don't want to knock out the little Mincinno, just make it slightly confused. That way, making a capture will be much easier." This was certainly interesting. He seemed to want to make Mincinno dazed, and confused, in attempt to make it be off-balanced, as well as weaken it a little more in the process in order to make it easier to be captured. I just hoped that Alakazam really held back though, because it had tremendous Special Attack, so if it wasn't extra careful it could easily end things.

Confusion was essentially Psybeam, just minus the the ray of energy, plus it was also weaker. Alakazam focused its mental energy on Mincinno, and shoved it back a little into the ground with its energy, where it held it in place, in order to restrain it. With that Jay pulled out the Park Ball that he had used earlier, since he never put it back into his backpack, and threw it at Mincinno. The little furry creature was sucked in, and although it tried to put up a fight to break, but in the end there was no hope for it.

"Good going Jay, way to secure another capture," I said as I placed Mincinno's Pokeball in my pocket. "So I never actually happened to ask. What are you looking for here? Is there something in specific or? Also, we can continue on whenever you're ready to keep going," I said to Jay, as I examined how the battle field looked.

The ball sucked the Mincinno in when it was no less than a metre away from it, before dropping to the ground and starting to wobble. The movement gradually drew to a halt and my Ranger bent down and picked it up, stowing it away for afterwards.

"Good going Jay, way to secure another capture," he said to me. So I never actually happened to ask. What are you looking for here? Is there something in specific or? Also, we can continue on whenever you're ready to keep going," he added afterwards.

"Nothing in particular. Just some rare things or anything that catches my eye really. I'm ready to go when you are."
