Joe thought about what she said for a moment, eventually gesturing toward one of the dark halls. “Somewhere away from that cloud. How about down that corridor?”

Ivy agreed, starting to lead the way. She was game for that. She didn't want to get rained on again. Thankfully, the hall looked dry, so that meant there wasn't any holes in the ceiling. They sloshed on the tiles as they went. Haji stayed next to her as she dug out a flashlight so they could see a little better.

The walls had cracks in them, like someone had drunkenly taken a saw and sliced away parts. They were just tiny cracks, but it showed the wires and insulation underneath. She was sure the Ratatta had been all over that, chewing through it and making nests for themselves. The Electric type Pokémon probably got any leftover juice from the cords too, if there was any left in them. The plant was supposed to be abandoned, but the scans had showed activity on some of the reports. She suspected that the Poachers were sneaking in again, despite their efforts to stop them.

A crackling of electricity lit up the end of the hallway then, coming from a room off the side. The flash died down, and they chose to investigate. Inside, there was some sort of machine. The side plate facing them was missing, showing the gears and wires inside. A large mouse Pokémon was messing with it hitting buttons while flicking its lightning bolt tail.

“Raichu!” it cried while firing off a jolt of thunder at the machine, probably trying to make it work.

The machine stayed quiet though, so Ivy thought it was probably missing the right parts or the wires were just too eaten up inside to function. It gave a frustrated sound as it clunked the machine lightly on the side.

Ivy walked up, taking a look at it. She peered into the inside, being careful when she touched some of the wires to move them out of the way. “I don't think you're gonna get it to work, Raichu,” she said, pointing inside. “There's a big chunk of wires missing in there.”

“Rai, rai,” it said dejectedly, kicking a bit at the floor like 'aww, shucks'. It did look back at Joe though, with a more hopeful expression.

“Want to battle this Raichu, Joe?” she asked. Pikachu were fairly common, but you never knew. “If not, it would probably let you take a picture.” At her words, the yellow and brown mouse's ears perked up.

Joe followed Ivy down the dry corridor. It seemed a change from the change of weather, it was nice to be dry for a change. The holes in the walls interested Joe. It was interesting to see what little Pokemon could achieve. There were many small holes that reveled cords and wires, which were mostly eaten by small Pokemon. You could also say that some Electric Pokemon would take any electrical current that is remaining in the wire, for some source of energy.

They carried on walking down the corridor until a bright yellow flash emitted from one of the rooms. Ivy and Joe decided to investigate the room and as they walked in, they noticed a large generator. As Joe poked his head into the room he noticed two things. A small side panel of the generator was chucked to one side of the room and a large Electric Mouse Pokemon sitting between the gear box of the generator.

“Raichu!” it cried while blasting off a jolt of thunder at the machine, probably trying to make the generator work

However it had no effect. Joe watched as Ivy walked over towards the Raichu and started to interact. Joe watched as the Raichu had a sigh of relief and looked towards Joe.

“Want to battle this Raichu, Joe?” Ivy asked. “If not, it would probably let you take a picture.” As she said this his eyes lit up.

"I don't want to battle this Pokemon, I will try and escape but if it fails I will resort to a PokeToy. I might as well take a picture of this cute little Pokemon." Joe said withdrawing a camera from his side bag.

Joe agreed to take a picture of the cute Raichu, and it seemed happy about it. It clapped cheerfully and struck a pose by leaning up against the old machine while crossing its arms. Joe clicked the flash on the camera just after Ivy moved out of the way. She figured it would be a good one. Some people back at the Main Outpost liked paying Trainers for good pictures taken of rarer Pokémon.

Business done, the Raichu waved as it left, off to maybe find another machine to restore. The whole plant was littered with them, so she knew he'd probably fine one capable of working eventually.

They left the room and went back into the hallway they came from, going down farther. The end of the hall opened into a much bigger room with two rows of long tables stretched across it. They were in disarray, the tables crooked and chairs tipped over and flung backwards. Some of them were on the tables even. Three large ceiling fans were still above them. She figured this must've been some sort of mess hall for the workers before everyone left.

They moved through the room carefully, being sure to watch for anything to jump out at them. There were shadows under the tables; you never knew what could be hiding. The whole place was pretty dim too, the only light coming from four windows that were too high up on the wall to reach. Since it was still cloudy outside, it was pretty dark.

Then, a sound, something like a pan or something tin echoed from the back. There was another room off there, something that was probably the kitchen. They got closer, and Ivy saw Haji react before they did. His nose scrunched up, smelling something unpleasant. She made it to the doorway and had a similar reaction.

Immediately she pulled her arm over her nose as the horrid smell invaded her nostrils. She knew the scent of garbage, but this was trash that had been sitting far too long. A shuffling noise drew her onward though, wanting to find out what it was.

She soon found the source, an overturned trash can that nobody remembered to clear out. A small green bag moved inside of it, and as she got closer, it noticed them and stopped. It wobbled out of the black can and looked up at them with large white eyes and a lopsided smile. Two floppy ears accompanied the trash-like appendages on its side, both attaching to the round sack body.

“Well,” she said, trying to keep her eyes from watering. “Want to battle this Trubbish?” She wasn't a fan of the smell, but they were kinda rare. They were part of the recently discovered set of Pokémon, so not many people had them. Then, before Joe could answer, the form began to shimmer.

Ivy covered her eyes for a second, and when she looked again, there was a pink blob where the Trubbish had been with a dopey look on its face. She paled.

"Well, I take that back. Want to battle the Ditto?"

Joe pressed the down on the camera and a white bright flash was produced by the park-made camera. He watched as the small Raichu wondered off into another room, probably trying to find another generator to power up. There were a lot of Pokemon like Raichu, who tried to find power and almost bring the plant back to life.

They left the room and headed back into the dim dry corridors. Joe looked ahead at the broken double doors that only hung of a hing. Ivy and Joe slowly walked into the room and noticed two rows of tables in front on them. Then there was broken chairs, chairs toppled over and some lying on the tables. Joe started to wonder what this room used to be, a mess hall? or even a conference room?

The patrolled up and down the rows, trying to anticipate any Pokemon jumping out at them. Suddenly a crash of a pan or a metal object echoed through the room. Joe quickly swiveled around to find the source of the noise, however there was no success. Joe watched as Ivy's Espeon reacted first by slowly walking towards the source of the noise. Joe walked over to Espeon and watched as she pawed at the overturned bin lid. Then suddenly a small garbage bag appeared in the corner of the room. Joe walked over to it and noticed two ears and two small white eyes. As he saw this, he took a few steps back and marveled at the Pokemon standing before him.

“Well,” Ivy said, trying to keep her eyes from watering. “Want to battle this Trubbish?”

"No Thank....." As Joe said this, the small Trubbish suddenly changed shape to a small purple blob. Joe recognized the Pokemon as Ditto, a Pokemon who can shape shift into many Pokemon.

"Well, I take that back. Want to battle the Ditto?" Ivy said to Joe. Joe looked towards the purple blob Pokemon.

"I don't really want a Ditto so I am going to have to say no, if we fail to escape I will use a PokeToy" Joe said getting ready to flee.

Joe said no to the Ditto, so they tried to move on away from the smell. However, while walking out of the kitchen area, Haji sent a message to her mind, and it caused her to turn around. When she looked, there were two Espeon staring at one another. The one facing them was wagging its tail though, so she knew that wasn't Haji. Hers stayed calm for pretty much everything.

Joe offered her a Pokétoy, and she took it and threw it at the copy. It shifted back into its pink-purple form and surrounded the doll, turning and bouncing it up and down off of itself. She shrugged as they moved out. To each, his own.

They went down a few more hallways with broken windows that led to the deserted outside. There was a door at the end of one, and they entered carefully. The last thing she wanted to do was spook a Pokémon and make it attack them or something. This new hallway had no windows. In fact, the only other visible thing in the room was the next door on the end of the walkway. There were a few holes in the ceiling too, but otherwise the place had stayed intact.

She walked across carefully, stepping onto the part of the walkway that was lower than the rest. The whole track was sunken about two inches, and she wondered what it was for. Immediately after stepping, she knew something was up. She felt heavy, like there was some sort of force pulling her down. Haji jumped down next to her but said he felt nothing strange with his body, only a certain energy in the air.

She looked down to see the clips and tools on her belt angling sharply downwards, pointing at the floor. She frowned in puzzlement as she continued onward, stepping across the line where the next walkway panel began. Immediately, she felt another change, like she was being pulled up. The clips on her belt now pointed straight up toward the ceiling instead.

She thought for a moment and then looked surprised. “Oh! Magnets,” she said, looking upward to see if she could see anything from the gap up there. “They must've used this room for some sort of testing.”

She got closer to the gap, but before she could detect anything, a steel orb dropped down. She moved out of the way as it fell to float right in front of her, a steel ball with a large eyeball with two screws underneath it. It had two U-shaped magnets colored in red and blue with a larger screw on the top of its head.

“Mag-ne-mite,” it said while bobbing up and down, affected by the magnetic plates in the ceiling and floor.

“Want to battle this one?” she asked.

Joe started to head off towards the large brown doors that carried on spiraling through the Abandoned Power Plant. However as soon as Joe reached the door, he noticed Ivy hanging back. Joe turned around and watched as Ivy glared at two Espeon's sitting before her. One started to waggle his tail from side to side, excited for some unknown reason. Then Ivy turned to Joe and gestured him to hand over the large PokeToy he was holding in his hand. Joe handed over the toy and watched as one of Espeon's changed it's shape into the purple blob Pokemon.

Joe smiled as he watched the Ditto form around the ball and started to bounce up and down on it. Joe followed Ivy as they started to walk through the door towards the long corridor. As he entered the long wide corridor, he noticed the small broken windows place along the wall. Several broken doors leading to small offices, which used to be occupied when the plant was fully functioning. Joe looked ahead and noticed Ivy was leading him towards a medium size door at the end of the corridor.

The carefully opened the door, avoiding disturbing any wild Pokemon. The as Joe entered the corridor, he scanned the room noticing one thing, there was no windows. Joe waited as Ivy started to walk across the room, however when she took one step, the floor suddenly sunk closer to the bottom floor. She withdrew her foot and started to think what was happening, what was this room used for. Then Joe noticed all of Ivy's metal pieces, hooked around her belt, start to slowly turn towards the ceiling.

It seemed like Ivy had noticed this as well and glanced upwards. Then after a few seconds of thinking, she bursted out loud, "Oh! Magnets, They must've used this room for some sort of testing.”

Ivy walked ahead, keeping her eyes pinned to a small whole in the wall. Then suddenly a small metal orb slowly floated down towards them. Joe started to pick out the main features and noticed a large white eye with two U-shaped magnets colored in red and blue with a larger screw on the top of its head, like a monster created by Frankenstein.

“Mag-ne-mite,” cried the small metal orb as it bounced up and down affected by the magnetic current filling the room.

“Want to battle this one?” Ivy asked Joe.Joe looked towards her and gave a signal of agreement and faced the steel Pokemon. He examined the room to find anything to help aid the battle, however the only thing he could notice was the large magnet.

How come the Magnemite is not attracted to the magnet, is it not powerful enough?

However a quick thought went through Joe's mind, attack the Magnemite. He swiftly reached into his belt and withdrew a Pokeball and held it in his large palms of his arms. He launched the small red and white ball through the air and then bounced on the ground, illuminating the room for a second. A large monkey like Pokemon stood before Joe, and stretched out its two long tails which had pale fist attached to them.

"Alright Ambipom, lets use our elemental combo we have been practicing on," Joe commanded to his Ambipom.

Then a vivid image slowly entered through his mind of the previous times they had used this combo. Ambipom would power a powerful electrical current through his fists and also power up a blazing flame on the other fist. As the electrical fist collided with Pokemon, Ambipom would then swing in the other one straight after. Then as the other fist was in contact of the Pokemon, the other free fist would power up a freezing ice energy. Then after the blazing fist has connected with the opponent, the final fist would collided with the freezing power. However there was a draw back with this move, Ambipom would remove all effects of the punch as they would normally.

Hopefully he goes in the right order of Electric - Fire - Ice

Joe apparently did want to battle. He pulled a small red and white Pokéball from his belt and released the creature inside. With a flash of light, a purple and cream monkey appeared with two hand-like tails. Seeing Joe's Ambipom reminded her of her own sitting inside her vest pocket.

The monkey looked ready to battle, and the Magnemite responded with a computerized cry of its own, bobbing up and down above the path and waiting for its opponent. Ivy got off the sunken walkway and went back to the door to get out of the way. Haji perched himself on the ledge that dropped off about a food to hit the walkway, watching the coming battle while his ears twitched.

“Alright, Ambipom, let's use our elemental combo we have been practicing on,” Joe said to his Pokémon, motioning toward his opponent.

The monkey seemed to know what to do, so the Trainer didn't explain anything further. Ivy would just have to see what happened next.

She saw the Ambipom concentrate, and then his fists came alive with power. In his left, a cackling electric current gathered around his palm, sending tiny shocks out into the air and snapping with energy. In the other, a burning flame exploded, giving off waves of heat and flickering in the air.

With that, the monkey charged off after the floating steel ball, sending out a battle call. He swung with the electricity-filled first first, aiming just below the middle of the round part of the Magnemite. It didn't seem afraid though, instead bracing itself as the monkey prepared to hit.

He did, and the electric fist slammed into the ball. Instead of going flying though, it stayed in the same exact place. Ambipom went to pull his fist away but found he couldn't. Ivy saw the sparks from the monkey's attack being drawn to one end of the magnet hanging of Magnemite's side, its end glowing as it attracted the bolts.

“Oh wow,” she said, speaking more to Haji and herself than anything. “It's using the pull of its magnets to prevent Ambipom from escaping.”

The monkey gave another good yank, but it was no good. In that time, the Electric type Pokémon was charging up, its eyeball rotating in its socket as the bolts jumped from the magnet on the side to the screw on the top of his head. With a tiny cry, an aura of lightning bolts jumped out of the small creature, striking the floor, the ceiling, and its main target, Ambipom.

The monkey cried out as it was hit, and with nothing else to do, he flared the fire in his fist and took a swing at the Magnemite. As it struck, the fire jumped from the monkey to the Steel type, and abruptly the electricity died. It let go of its magnet strength too, and then it went spiraling to the other side of the room. It get the door and bounced off, shaking itself back and forth as it floated a little closer. Ivy could see a small singe on its left side from the hit, and it didn't look too pleased.

Ambipom retreated a little closer to Joe, putting a little more distance between him and his opponent. He waited for the next command patiently, shaking the fist that had been stuck to the steel ball, perhaps trying to get circulation back into it.

“Alright, Ambipom, let's use our elemental combo we have been practicing on,” Joe said to his Ambipom.

Ambipom nodded and started to focus some energy into his twin hands. Then suddenly, Ambipom's left hands burst alive with an electrical current surging through the hand. The other hand started to glow red and then erupted to an bright red colour which produced a sizzling heat wave which dispersed through the cold quiet air.

Ambipom cried out loud and within a second, he bombarded towards the levitating metal Pokemon. He rose his left arm, with the sparks of electricity crackling out of, and collided with the Magnemite. Joe watched carefully as the fist of Ambipom collided with Magnemite, the sparks colliding with the metal casing of Magnemite. Then Ambipom tried to withdraw the hand, however after trying, Joe noticed that the hand was like it was almost stuck to the body of Magnemite, however when he looked he saw that Ambipom's hand was magnetically attracted to Magnemite.

Joe suddenly heard a murmur appear from the direction of Ivy and glanced over and tried to work out what they were saying. “Oh wow, It's using the pull of its magnets to prevent Ambipom from escaping.”

So it's using magnets to attract Ambipom's hand

Then suddenly in the corner of Joe's eye, he noticed Magnemite suddenly glowing in a bright yellow colour. Then within seconds, a surge of electrical energy passed through the limbs of Ambipom. Ambipom gave out a cry of pain as the current flowed through him. Joe couldn't watch the torment, it was all his fault. He slowly cover his eyes and tried to block out the screams of Ambipom ringing through his ears.

The light faded and Joe slowly lowered his hand, relieving a tired looking ape with small marks where the electricity burned his skin. Then as Ambipom was looking towards the ground, he raised his other hand, which was burning with a sizzling heat wave. The other hand collided with the metal coating of Magnemite and sending it flying through the air. The magnetism holding Ambipom in the air suddenly disappeared as Magnemite was slowly getting further away.

Ambipom crashed into the floor and slowly made his way onto his feet again. He spaced himself away from the Magnemite and started to wait for a command from Joe.

"Ok Ambipom, I want you to use Fire Punch and then use Screech to lower it's attack. I know you fist is hurting but after the battle I will try and make it better," Joe said to his Ambipom

Ranger Ivy Frost

Ivy could tell that Joe didn't like seeing his Pokémon get hurt at all. A lot of Trainers hated that, herself included. He did see how much the Fire Punch did to the small magnet though, so he issued his next command.

“Okay, Ambipom, I want you to use Fire Punch and then Screech. I know your fist is hurting, but after this battle I will try and make it better.” The monkey nodded, trusting his Trainer's words and wanting to do his best for him.

The monkey set flame to his fist again, but while he was doing so, the Magnemite had plans of its own. It locked onto Ambipom and hovered in the same spot, stilling momentarily. Then it started to quiver in place rapidly. A horrible screeching metalized sound rang out, causing Ivy to cover her ears. She saw Haji do the same from his perch with his paws. Ambipom reacted too, looking a bit shaky. The sound was probably ringing in his ears a bit, since the attack was directed at him.

Still, the monkey tried to follow through with his commands. He went after the floating orb, swinging his fist. He even ignited the other one and swung with that too. The Magnemite saw this coming though, and dipped to the left as Ambipom swung with his right, missing him by inches. The second fist came in and only knocked the U-shaped magnet a little, sending the Steel type spinning sideways but mostly unhurt. It wasn't going to fall for the same straight attack like that again.

Joe was going to have to get trickier in order to hurt this thing. It was in its element, surrounded by other magnets in a confined space that let its attacks hit pretty easily.

The monkey then filled up his lungs and gave out a screech of his own. It echoed off the metal panels and around the room, and Ivy flinched for the second time in a few minutes. The Magnemite looked a little unsettled by this one though, seeming a little shaky.

It didn't stop its attack though, and Ivy watched a sphere of silver light form in front of it. Then, it gave a shake, and released a beam as wide as its body. It shot toward Ambipom in a plane of silver and blue streaks, lighting up the whole room with a flash. It barreled into the monkey and send him flying to the floor, sliding back along the walkway.

The floating magnet looked a little pleased with itself. Ivy wondered what they were going to do now.

“Okay, Ambipom, I want you to use Fire Punch and then Screech. I know your fist is hurting, but after this battle I will try and make it better" Joe calmly said to Ambipom, trying to reassure him that things will be OK.


Ambipom nodded and started to attack straight away. He bent his small purple legs, eying up his opponent. Then he propelled himself from the gray stone cold floor and towards the floating U-Shaped iron Pokemon. His fist erupted into a thick warm fire that surrounded his hand. However suddenly a loud screeching sound rang through the room. Joe glanced up, keeping his hands locked into place over his ear, and noticed some waves dispersing from Magnemite. As Joe lowered his head, he noticed Ambipom battling through the sound, determined to hit the enemy.

However the Magnemite was sharp, and as soon as Ambipom swung for it, it swiftly dodged the flying fist like a fly escaping the wrath of a fly squatter. As Ambipom watched his fist miss the moving target, he slowly raised the other fist and collided it with the metal orb Pokemon. Magnemite was slowly sent flying through the air, but managed to regain balance before crashing into the wall.

Ambipom quickly turned around on the spot, eager for some more action. Then he slowly took some long deep breath's in, inhaling as much oxygen as he could. And then immediately exhaled the air, however also created a loud high pitch tone which echoed through the room. Joe fixed his beady eyes on the Magnemite and watched as it moved around nervously, tiring to get the ringing noise out of its head.

However soon Ambipom stopped and started to inhale more air, decreasing his oxygen debt. As Ambipom was resting, Magnemite slowly started to glow in a bright white light. Suddenly, the bright white light shot out towards Ambipom, and sent the large monkey Pokemon colliding in the nearby wall. A small dust cloud emerged from the impact, but soon it settled and showed a exhausted Pokemon slowly making it's way back to its feet.

"Hang in there Ambipom!" Joe shouted, trying to relieve the monkey Pokemon and give it some encouragement. Then Joe's mind slowly changed and started to ask questions.

Is Ambipom ok? Will he beat Magnemite? Do I need anymore help? Do I run for it and try and escape?

It was hard as a trainer to make the correct command that will make sure your Pokemon is safe and also the wild Pokemon is caught. Sometimes in life you make the wrong choices and they will come back to haunt you. Today was not the day to make wrong choices. Joe knew what had to be done, however Ambipom might not like it.

"Return Ambipom!" Joe commanded in a strong tone. As Ambipom lighted up in the red colour, his smile slowly diminished and stared towards the ground. Joe hated when he had to do this, take the spotlight of one Pokemon and give it to another. He placed the Pokeball into his belt and swiveled around.

In another quick movement, he withdrew a red and white ball and threw it towards the ground. A white flash appeared and a familiar shape appeared. It was Infernape. He slowly stretched his arms, signaling that he must have been woken up.

"Lets do this Infernape! Use Flamethrower and then use Will-O-Wisp, I will then throw the Super Ball towards Magnemite and hope for a capture" Joe said to Infernape, hoping that he would listen and do what he says.

Joe held the small ball, produced by the Park Staff, it had a small yellow 'S' imprinted on the front. Hopefully the 'S' will stand for success.

Joe debated a second, but then he returned his Ambipom to his Pokéball, not wanting him to get damaged any more. The monkey flashed red as it became particle energy and returned to the device, and then another monkey took his place.

Infernape came back out, his head flame waving in the small room, casting shadows dancing on the walls. He stared at the floating Steel-type and waited for his instruction. He was a little damaged from the fight before, but other than looking a little sleepy, he didn't show it.

Joe reached into his pocket to pull out a Super Ball, hoping to throw it after he gave his next direction.

“Let's do this, Infernape! Use Flamethrower and then use Will-O-Wisp. Then I'll throw the Super Ball.”

The monkey nodded, in agreement with this plan. He shook his head and gathered energy to himself, bracing his feet as he prepared to attack. He clenched his fists and opened his mouth just as a stream of fire erupted, shooting out toward the Electric-type. It spun around in the air as it was hit, but Infernape wasn't done. Five small floating fireballs appeared next, and they hovered like ghostly energy in the air around him. With an invisible signal, they shot off toward the Magnemite, trailing after it in a single file that weaved and slithered like a snake.

Because Magnemite was still stunned from the Flamethrower, the burning energy surrounded it and singed its covering until Ivy could see the burn marks from where she stood. Eventually, the flames disappeared, and an angry-looking steel ball remained. It bobbed up and down like it was irritated.

Joe chose that time to throw the ball, and it arched over Infernape's head toward Magnemite. She saw the Steel-type lock onto it and watch with that single eye. Right as it was about to hit, the Magnemite twisted and used the magnet sticking out of it like a baseball bat. It swung its whole body to smack the ball away, and it hit the floor with a bounce and then rolled back to Joe's feet. So much for that.

“Don't give up,” she said, trying to encourage them. “You'll wear it down eventually, and it looks like it's sporting a burn too, so that'll help.”

Then the Magnemite started shaking back and forth, and the magnets on its sides seemed to resonate with a certain sound. At first she thought it was doing that screeching thing again to try and catch Infernape off-guard, but then the walls started rattling too, and she could feel the energy gather in the room.

Seemingly out of nowhere, a thundering rumble came from above, and then a gathering of lightning bolts flashed down with a loud crack that bounced off the walls and echoed in her ears. Ivy had to clamp her hands over them and shut her eyes tight as she mentally told Haji to do the same. She could see the light from behind her closed eyelids, and she knew that Infernape had just been hit hard. His cry was drowned out by the noise.

When she felt safe to open her eyes again, Infernape had fallen over, his limbs still flickering with leftover electricity from the Thunder attack. The steel plates on the floor seemed to do that too, a faint blue glow fading from them. Joe would have to be careful from now on. It seemed he made the orb angry.

Infernape nodded, and directed his sight towards the floating orb Pokemon. He slowly clenched his fists and concentrated a blast of fire towards Magnemite. The heat of he attack bounced of Joe's skin, he could feel the heat attacking his skin. It was one powerful attack. The fire surrounded the metal orb Pokemon and sent it flying towards the ground. However Infernape wasn't finished, and he opened his mouth again and produced 5 small fire balls that trailed after the failing Pokemon. The five fire balls circled the Magnemite, who had no chance in avoiding the attack, and started the burn the surface of the Pokemon.

Now was the chance and Joe kissed the super ball, produced by the park, and threw it towards the landing Magnemite. The ball rolled around on the floor and then suddenly opened. Joe was amazed, and wondered if this Pokemon was the strongest out of his kind.

“Don't give up,” Ivy said, trying to encourage them. “You'll wear it down eventually, and it looks like it's sporting a burn too, so that'll help.”

Joe smiled towards Ivy, but was still annoyed that it missed. Then suddenly Magnemite shook of the attack and started to create the same annoying noise from early. Joe raised his hands to his ears, making sure the sound dose not enter his ears. Then it slowly died down. But within seconds later, Magnemite was glowing the same colour. This was exactly the same combo used against Magnemite. The bright light glowed, covering the whole Magnemite, and then moments later, it fired the flash canon towards Infernape.

Joe couldn't remember what exactly happened immediately after the attack, since the bright light stained the pupil of his eye. As it started to die down, he noticed Infernape still standing, however he looked like he took a lot of pain.

Joe bent down and picked up the Super Ball and held it in his hand. "Infernape, use Mach Punch once more, then I will through the Super Ball"

Joe looked a little annoyed that his capture attempt failed, but he wasn't going to give up. She hated days like that, when things didn't work out quite as well as you wanted them to.

“Infernape,” Joe called, “use Mach Punch once more, and then I will throw the Super Ball.”

The monkey nodded, probably ready to be done with this battle already. That's twice that he got hit by a Thunder attack in one day. At least this time it hadn't been raining.

Infernape flexed his muscles to loosen up his arms, and then he took off in a charge toward Magnemite at blinding speed with his fist pulled back. In a flash he struck, and the Magnemite was sent spinning again, dazed from the attack.

Joe threw his Super Ball again, retrieving it from on the floor where it fell. It soared through the air, and this time the Magnemite couldn't see it to block it. With a metal ding, it bounced off the top of its head and sucked it inside in a beam of red light. The ball fell straight down, clunking onto the floor heavily. They waited for it to decide if it was going to hold.

Then it pinged.

Ivy smiled as she went over to collect the Ball, putting it in her vest pocket along with the Porygon. Then she turned to Joe. “So, where to next?”

Infernape slowly nodded, still showing some signs of exhaustion from he previous battle. Infernape flexed his muscles in his arm and stormed towards Magnemite. He outstretched his arm and made contact with the floating orb Pokemon.

As Magnemite was failing towards the ground, Joe launched the Super Ball and watched as it hit the Magnemite and land on the floor. It rolled around on the gray cold floor.

Then a small ping echoed through the room.

“So, where to next?” Ivy said as she bent down to pick up the Pokeball.

"That way!" Joe said as he pointed toward the door at the end of the room.

“That way!” Joe shouted as he pointed down the hallway to the door at the end.

Ivy nodded and waited for Haji to get up from laying on his perch before continuing down the walkway. The magnets were still in effect despite all the battling that went on, and she felt the objects on her belt shift upward and downward and she traveled. She thought maybe that the powerful Thunder or something to do the Magnemite would change the way they worked.

The Espeon shook himself off as he trotted to catch up with her, commenting about the hole in the ceiling. She stopped for a second to take a look at it, seeing the missing steel plate and wondering what else was nesting up there. She'd have to call it in and get a team out to look at and repair it.

They came to the door at the end and when she opened the door, she came face to face with what she thought was another Magnemite. Then, it floated upward and twisted clockwise until another one showed up. It continued rotating in that circle until one more appeared. Then it twirled and backed up, making arcs in the air.

“Hey, a Magneton. You already got a Magnemite, but need another for yourself or someone you know?” She knew Joe probably wasn't interested, but it was her job to ask.

Joe waited for Ivy's Espeon to slowly get back on her feet. Joe had always wanted a small pet Pokemon to use on his expeditions. Infernape was too big, Azurill was too small. He always thought Gollet would be the best pet Pokemon and was envy towards Cameron for having one.

They slowly walked forwards, taking caution to any loose pieces of metal that were lying around after the battle. Joe studied the area around him, it looked like a miniature explosion had occurred in this room. Pieces of destroyed stone lay across the cold concrete floor, iron girders sticking out from the walls, and large holes in the walls caused by the powerful attacks like Flamethrower and Flash Cannon.

Ivy noticed, as she walked past a large hole in the wall, a missing piece of metal. Joe watched as she perched her head into the wall. What a weird thing to do?

They arrived at the door and Ivy opened it wide open. To Joe's annoyance he saw the same metal orb Pokemon floating ahead of him. He sigh and was about to say something when it started to move upwards and rotate itself anticlockwise. Another metal orb with an eye appear, exactly the same as the one before. Then it rotated again.

“Hey, a Magneton. You already got a Magnemite, but need another for yourself or someone you know?”

"One Magnemite was hard enough but three? I will leave it and if it tries to follow us, I will use a Slowpoke Tail" Joe said

The Magneton didn't seem to be backing up, and like she thought, Joe wasn't interested. They still had to get through though, so Joe reached into his bag and got a pink Slowpoke tail out. He handed it to her and in turn she offered it to the Steel-type. It backed up as she took a step forward, and she did this for a few feet until Haji and Joe could clear the doorway, and then she tossed the tail onto the other side of the room the door opened up into.

The Magneton seemed pleased enough, and it let them pass through without any more trouble. This room was just a plain, empty box with no windows. They quickly passed through it and into another hallway.

This hall had missing spots in the ceiling like the other room they battled in. There were puddles on the floor too, ones that were little more than her fist sized and others were twice the length of her arm. Papers were scattered across it, some the blank white ones you would get from a copier and others were notices on different colored sheets. Most of them were soggy and dirty, shading them in browns and grays.

One ahead looked like a newspaper, but instead of a smooth sheet, a ripped off fragment, or a crumpled up ball, it was propped like a tent. Another look inside showed a pair of shiny yellow eyes looking back at them. A few seconds after that a small blue and black lion crawled out and mewed at them.

Joe watched as the stubborn Magneton continued to hover in front of the door. He sighed and reached into pocket and pulled out a large Slowpoke Tail and held the tail out front. He watched as the Magneton slowly backed away as he took a step forward. IT was working. Joe walked past the Magneton, still holding the tail out front of him.

The opened the door and reached a small box room with another door. They strolled through the room and opened the door at the other end, which lead to another hallway.

Joe looked ahead and noticed the same holes in the ceiling, puddles of the floor, however there was something different to the rest of the other rooms. Newspapers and pieces of papers where scattered across the wet floor. Joe noticed ahead a small tent made out of a piece of newspaper. As he looked closer, two bright yellow eyes glared at Joe. A small blue and black lion crawled out.


“What about this Shinx?” Ivy asked Joe.

"I am afraid I do not want this Shinx, however if it doesn't let us leave, I will use another Slowpoke Tail"

Joe said he didn't want the Shinx, and in response it crawled back under the newspaper it came from without a fuss. It had probably been napping or something and didn't want to be bothered. That was good. She had enough of wild Pokémon wanting to give Trainers a rough time. It made for a slow run.

They cleared the hall and came out into a room that had been once capped with a dome. The ceiling was high and arched, but there were pieces missing from it, opening it up to the sky. It was clouded over again, and the dark clouds looked like it could start raining any minute. She wasn't looking forward to it.

Suddenly, a low howl caught her attention and pulled her gaze upward. On the far left, in a section of ceiling that had broken, was a crouched form in shadow. Lightning flashed across the sky and revealed the Pokémon for an instant. Then it stepped forward and they could see it better.

It was a dog of sorts, painted yellow with black designs as stripes. It had a spiky blue star tail and a matching nose patch. Two long fangs arced downward and it had a purple cloud-like cape running from its neck down its back.

“Look, Joe, it's Raikou.” She had always been a fan of the Legendary Dog, though she knew many underrated it.

Joe watched as the small Shinx slowly crawled back into the makeshift tent, I guess it didn't want to be disturbed at all costs. Joe was happy that the small Shinx would just let them by, the amount of Pokemon he had encounter who always wanted a battle was just hard and tiring.

They continued to walk down the corridor, which eventually lead towards a large room, with a high and arched ceiling. It looked like there used to be a dome when the plant was in full operational use. Joe scanned the top of the ceiling, studying the architectural layout and then suddenly, a loud howl echoed through the room. Joe immediately focused his eye to a hole in the wall. A shadow of a Pokemon lay there watching Ivy and Joe walk by. A flash of lightning lit up the room and Joe noticed what Pokemon it was.


It took a step forward and Joe could see it much clearer. It's yellow and black strips, its spiky blue star tail and of course it's pair of i
fangs pointing towards the floor.

“Look, Joe, it's Raikou.” Ivy said to Joe, he removed his Camera and quickly took a picture of the legendary dog Pokemon.
