    OOC: God DAMN you're right! I'm stuffing up a bit this run :\ Oh well, it'll pay off for you ;)

    ~~~~~
    Andy cheered on his Nidoran and ordered another Double Kick. Double Kick was a super-effective move, but using it repeatedly wasn't a good idea from a strategic viewpoint.
    Nonetheless, Hornsly got up and slowly broke into a run, heading for the Houndour again. The Houndour looked up, and tried to get up off its' knee, but it couldn't. It could only watch as Hornsly got closer. So, it began watching the Nidoran, trying to identify weak points that it could use.
    Hornsly ran up to the Houndour and turned, smashing into the Houndour's legs, sending it falling to the ground. Then, before the Houndour could even finish falling to the ground, Hornsly lashed out with both of his stubby little legs, catching the Houndour just under its' chin.
    I watched with amazement as the Houndour performed a one eighty through the air and landed on its back. It struggled weakly to get up: the time to attempt a capture was soon.
    OOC: Time for a super-long post! :D
    Hornsly was running toward the Houndour, getting ready to lash out with a Double Kick. Houndour saw the Pokemon running toward it and tried to get up off it's knee, but it was too weak. It looked at the Nidoran, trying to find weak points that it could use.
    Hornsly got close enough, so it turned around and struck out with both it's back legs against the Houndour's legs, making the Houndour start to fall all the way to the ground. While it was falling to the ground, Hornsly lashed out again, this time right under the chin, before the Houndour could even hit the ground!
    Houndour spun around in a complete one eighty spin in midair before landing on it's back. Even with being hit and hit and hit, the weak Houndour struggled to get up; the fight was not done yet.
    I saw that the Houndour was very weak; the capture should be soon. But yet I had a weird feeling that the Houndour still wanted to fight it out until the end, and I wanted to honor that wish. Well, at least for one more turn. Then I might capture it.
    "Hornsly, let it fight a bit longer!" I told my Pokemon, "Let's use a Poison Sting on the Houndour!"
    Hornsly jumped away from Houndour and let loose a bunch of purple darts. They sped at the Houndour, which was looking at the darts trying to find a way to evade them.
    "Hornsly, let it fight a bit longer!" Andy called. "Let's use a Poison Sting on the Houndour!"
    Hornsly jumped away from the Houndour and spat another cloud of purple darts.
    The Houndour looked up at the darts. It struggled to move, but its legs were too sluggish. Instead, it breathed a fireball at the darts. The fireball burnt most of them up, but a couple around the edges weren't burnt up, so they struck the Houndour.
    The Houndour obviously realized the battle was almost over, so it began hatching one last Nasty Plot.
    The Houndour looked sadly at the poison darts. It tried to move away, but it's legs were too slow and heavy. Since it couldn't move, it breathed a fireball at all the poison darts. The fireball burned a bunch of them up, but some around the edges weren't covered by the fireball. They hit the Houndour, who took the hit sadly.
    It realized the battle was almost over, so it began thinking of one last Nasty Plot.
    "All right, the time to capture this Houndour has come!" I said, happy that the moment had finally arrived. "Now, let's see... which of these Super Balls look like they want a Houndour..."
    The Houndour looked at me, given up on any hopes of beating me. It looked as if it was judging me, to see how good a trainer I'd be. Apparently it was satisfied, because it sat down and waited, no longer trying to attack.
    Hornsly looked happy too; he had just beat a pretty tough opponent, and was still really healthy. It was looking at the Houndour, wondering what it might amount to if Andy caught it.
    "Well, this one looks like it's ready for a Pokemon! Poke Ball, go!" I yelled, throwing the Super Ball at the Houndour, which braced itself. The Super Ball hit the Houndour, enveloping it in a red light. The Houndour then disappeared into the Super Ball, which wiggled once... twice...
    OOC: Technically, you can't say the ball hit the Houndour. As the Ranger, I might choose to make you miss. But dw, I didn't add any penalties or anything :)
    ~~~~~

    Andy threw the Super Ball, looking happy as he did so. His little Nidoran also looked happy: I guessed it was proud of its strength.

    The sphere flew through the air, tapping the Houndour on its rump. The black and red dog Pokemon was sucked into the ball in a flash of red light. The ball wriggled as the Houndour fought the capture mechanism.

    Then, the ball stilled and the pressure pad on the front of the ball glowed red. An audible ding emitted from the little device.

    "Congratulations," I said as I walked over to the Super Ball and picked it up. It was a Ranger rule that they held on to all captured Pokemon until the Trainer left the Park.

    I looked around the area, happy to find that there was no major damage done anywhere. I then waited to see where Andy wanted to go next.

    OOC: Oh, right. It gave me more to write about, though. :)

    The Super Ball glided through the air, hitting the Houndour in it's behind. The Pokemon was sucked into it with a flash of red light. The ball wiggled around a few times before the circle on the front of the ball went white with a ding. The Houndour was captured!

    "Congratulations," Chainy told me as he walked over to the ball and picked it up. Apparently the ranger holds onto the captured Pokemon until the run is over. I was perfectly fine with that; just knowing that I'd get it later was good enough for me.

    Chainy looked around, obviously looking for damages. He found none, then asked me where I wanted to go next.

    "Well, I guess we can continue along the edge of the volcano. Unless, of course, you have a better idea?" I said, turning to Chainy.

    "Well, I guess we can continue along the edge of the volcano. Unless, of course, you have a better idea?" Andy asked me.

    I shook my head. Most of the interesting Pokemon were found in or around the volcanoes.

    We kept walking around the edge of the volcano, watching the rocks for any sign of movement. Then I heard a braying noise, and I was surprised, because there was no movement.

    Until I looked at my motion sensor, and realised that there was movement behind us. I turned, and saw a Ponyta approaching us. It neighed a greeting.

    "Man, you attract the friendliest Pokemon," I said to Andy, grinning. Then my grin disappeared.

    "Be careful not to touch it," I warned him.

    OOC: If only I could get my hands on the encounter list... then I'd see if I wanted Ponyta or not :p
    Wait, if I catch 3 Pokemon, does the run automatically end?

    Chainy shook his head. I figured that he thought around the volcano was where the best Pokemon were anyway.

    We continued walking along the edge of the volcano, until we were startled by a braying noise. Chainy looked confused; there wasn't any movement around.

    Then Chainy looked at some high-tech thingy, and turned around instantly.

    "Man, you attract the friendliest Pokemon," Chainy said to me, grinning. Then his grin vanished.

    "Be careful not to touch it," Chainy warned me. I looked at the Ponyta; it didn't look like it'd want to harm me, but it's flames on it's body said otherwise.

    "Oh, right. Well, I guess we could battle it. How about it, Hornsly?" I asked my Pokemon, which was sizing up the Ponyta. It nodded, getting into a fighting pose.

    "Well, that decides it. We'll battle it." I said, not to anyone in particular. "Hornsly, let's start with some stat messing-up! Use Leer on the burning horse!"

    Hornsly instantly started glaring at the Ponyta.

    OOC: Yeah, there's a few good ones left on the list :p And no, the run doesn't automatically end if you catch three, it just means that if you catch four or more you have to not take some out of the Park. Also Ponyta gender plz.

    ~~~~~
    Andy decided to battle the Ponyta. His Nidoran held its body lower to the ground, lowering its centre of gravity, preparing for a fight.
    Andy wisely decided to start the battle with a stat lowering move.
    "Use Leer on the burning horse!" he cried.
    Hornsly glared fiercely at the Ponyta. It neighed cautiously and took a few steps back, lashing its' tail furiously.
    Hornsly stopped glaring, and looked at the Ponyta intently.
    But the Ponyta didn't notice. It whinnied loudly, and the few clouds that were in the sky scooted away. The heat began feeling much more oppressive.
    "Great, Sunny Day," I groaned.
    OOC: Female.
    *hopes for a Gligar in the next few encounters*
    Hornsly was glaring almost angrily at the Ponyta. The Ponyta neighed, and took a few steps back, it's tail whipping around everywhere.
    Hornsly stopped glaring, and just looked at the Ponyta, wondering what it's next move would be.
    The Ponyta didn't seem to notice, and neighed at the sky. A few clouds moved away, making the temperature go up considerably.
    "Great, Sunny Day," Chainy groaned.
    "So the Ponyta is planning to use Fire Type moves, huh? Well, let's go on the offensive right away!" I said, thinking up another plan. "Hornsly, run straight toward the Ponyta and use Poison Jab. Then, get away as soon as possible to evade any Fire type moves that the Ponyta throws at you."
    Hornsly nodded, then, as usual, started carrying out the plan. He ran straight at the flaming horse, his front right paw shining purple. When he was a few yards away from Ponyta, he lifted the poison coated paw, ready to ram it into Ponyta's side.
    Andy ordered Hornsly to use Poison Jab. It was a good choice, a solid move with STAB and the chance to poison. Poison would definitely help with the capture attempt.
    Hornsly ran towards the Ponyta, and punched it a few times rapidly with glowing purple arms before nimbly skittering away. Unfortunately for Andy, the Ponyta didn't look like it was poisoned.
    The Ponyta spat a few fireballs at Hornsly, but the nimble little Nidoran dodged them as he ran away to hide behind some rocks.
    Ponyta raised its head and brayed a challenge at the Nidoran. It seemed to want to fight head-on, not exchanging glancing blows, which was strange for a Ponyta. Most Ponyta and Rapidash preferred to fight like the ancient cavalry did - hit and run tactics, making repeated glancing blows before retreating to safety.
    This was no ordinary Ponyta.
    Hornsly punched Ponyta with his glowing poison colored paw before running away. Sadly, the Ponyta didn't show any signs of being poisoned.
    Oh well. I'll get it with something else.
    The Ponyta threw a few fireballs at Hornsly, but the poison-type Pokemon was used to those. It dodged them with no problem, hiding behind a pile of rocks.
    The Ponyta brayed a challenge, apparently wanting Hornsly to come out and fight it head-on. Chainy seemed surprised about this; I didn't bother to ask him why.
    "Well, it apparently wants to fight head-on. Let's not give it what it wants!" I said. "Hornsly, jump up on top of that pile of rocks and fire off a Poison Sting at the Ponyta!"
    Hornsly started following orders, jumping on top of the rocks. It fired off a bunch of purple darts of energy directly at the Ponyta.
    "Now, jump behind the pile of rocks again while the Poison Sting hits! If it charges you, run away to a different pile of rocks! Let's stay evasive, okay, Hornsly?"
    Apparently Andy didn't realise or deliberately ignored the Ponyta's request for a fair fight. Which was fine - everyone was free to do as they wished in the Park, as long as they abided by the rules.
    Andy ordered Hornsly to use Poison Sting while remaining evasive, which would usually have been a good plan. Ponyta fought at close quarters, utilizing their fiery bodies and strong hooves to their fullest potential. Furthermore, the poison from the Poison Sting would add to the capture chance.
    But this was no ordinary Ponyta.
    Hornsly jumped up on top of the pile of rocks it was hiding behind, and it fired a stream of poison needles from its horn. Normally, a Ponyta would have to try to dodge the needles as it got close. But this Ponyta simply lowered its head and began snorting.
    A small green ball gathered in front of its lowered head. The ball grew bigger and bigger.
    The Poison Sting stream hit the Ponyta, striking it solidly in the lower chest. But the Ponyta didn't move, and again I could see that it was not poisoned.
    Hornsly jumped from the top of the rock to another rock nearby.
    And that was when the Ponyta made its move.
    The green ball cracked open, and a green laser-like beam of energy slashed forward towards the helpless Nidoran. It was in mid-air, so it couldn't even attempt to dodge.
    The blast pushed Hornsly back in mid-air, and he fell on the ground just in front of Andy. He squeaked irritably as he got to his feet.
    Hornsly jumped up on top of the pile of rocks and fired off a group of poison darts toward the Ponyta. I was surprised the Ponyta didn't try to dodge them; it just lowered it's head and made an angry-sounding noise.
    Then it started making a green ball of energy.
    The Poison Sting missles hit the Ponyta in the chest, not getting poisoned at all.
    Hornsly jumped to a different pile of rocks. Then the Ponyta attacked.
    The green ball of energy exploded and hit Hornsly with such fierceness while he was in the air; the poor Pokemon couldn't even dodge the attack!
    It hit Hornsly, and sent him flying to my feet. He squealed, then stood up.
    "Are you all right, Hornsly?" I asked worriedly. He nodded, so I began telling him what to do. "Let's change the tactic and go straight at the Ponyta; do what the Ponyta wants you to do. Run at the Ponyta and give it something to remember; a nice Double Kick right in it's side!"
    Hornsly ran at the Ponyta, getting his hind legs ready. When he was close enough, he jumped up and lashed out with both feet.
    Andy decided to change tactics. Instead of staying long range, Hornsly would now get close. This was wise, as even though Ponyta specialised in close combat, this particular Pokemon had a Sunny Day/Solarbeam combo going, giving it a long range attack as well.
    Hornsly surged forward, towards the Ponyta. As he did so, the Ponyta stretched its legs, preparing for the battle. It rolled its head and bent its knees, limbering up.
    Hornsly ran up and kicked the horse solidly, causing it to neight loudly. But the Ponyta headbutted Hornsly solidly, sending it backwards but not knocking it over. Hornsly didn't flinch, or even move - it was awaiting its next order.
    Hornsly ran up to the Ponyta and kicked it as hard as the little Pokemon could. The Ponyta neighed loudly, and retaliated by headbutting the Poison type Pokemon. Hornsly went backwards, but the tough little Nidoran didn't even flinch. He didn't even move while waiting for my orders.
    "Well, that didn't look like it did too much damage. The Ponyta lost it's Sunny Day - Solarbeam combo!" I commented, thinking of how Hornsly should attack Ponyta next. "I know! Hornsly, use Leer at it while going back at the Ponyta; then use Horn Attack on the horse!"
    Hornsly nodded, going at the Ponyta once again. He glared fiercely at the flaming horse, while getting his horn ready to jab into the Ponyta's front left leg. Hornsly stayed on the ground the entire time, until he was one foot away from the enemy. Then, he jumped up a bit, just enough to strike the top of the front left leg. He jabbed forward with his horn with such ferocity I thought he was going to pull his head out of the rest of his body!
    Andy ordered a Leer and Horn Attack combo, which was a good idea. Andy seemed to think that the Solarbeam combo was finished, but the sun was still shining bright enough to make it a possibility.
    Hornsly stared daggers at the Ponyta and slowly walked forward, never breaking eye contact. The Ponyta was almost mesmerised by the stare. When the little purple Nidoran was very close to the fiery horse, he jabbed his horn fiercely at the horse. The Ponyta neighed as the horn ripped into the flesh of its left foreleg. It fell onto its knee and brayed loudly.
    It looked up at the Nidoran with eyes that blazed, and it breathed a stream of fire right towards Hornsly.
    The Ponyta seemed close to being hypnotized as the Nidoran walked toward it, glaring at the flaming horse. Hornsly then lunged toward the Ponyta, jabbing his horn fiercely into it's front left leg. The Ponyta neighed, and fell down to one knee, seemingly annoyed at the daring Nidoran.
    The Ponyta was mad. Very mad. In fact, when it looked at Hornsly and breathed out a steam of fire, it's eyes were blazing red. Hornsly looked only a tiny bit intimidated, but that didn't stop it from looking over at me, as if asking me what to do.
    "Jump away from the Flamethrower, and use Poison Sting while in midair! Then, go after the Ponyta again with a Peck attack!" I told the obedient Nidoran, which instantly jumped away from the Ponyta. He spat out a bunch of purple daggers aimed toward the Ponyta. He then went at the Ponyta again, getting ready to peck the Ponyta in it's neck.
    "Jump away from the Flamethrower, and use Poison Sting while in midair! Then, go after the Ponyta again with a Peck attack!" andy called.
    Hornsly jumped away from the Ponyta, but the fire horse was too fast. It buried Hornsly in a stream of fire. This did not stop the obedient little Pokemon from launching some bright purple spines at the Ponyta. Seeing as the Ponyta was largely immobile, it couldn't really try to dodge. In fact, Hornsly had successfully eliminated Ponyta's main strength - its speed and maneuverability.
    The spikes landed all over Ponyta, and what Andy had been hoping for all this time had finally happened - the Ponyta became poisoned. But this was no time to dwell on the stroke of luck. Despite being hurt and burned, Hornsly limped forwards and struck at the horse with his horn. The little horn pierced the Ponyta's skin, but didn't so too much damage - the little purple creature was preoccupied with his burn.
    The battle had entered its most dangerous and unpredictable phase. Both Pokemon were weakened and low on health. I thought that perhaps Andy should consider a capture soon as a way to end the battle before Hornsly got knocked out.
    Hornsly jumped away from the firey horse, but Ponyta was too fast. The Ponyta turned its head and blew a flaming stream of fire at Hornsly. However, Hornsly was too obedient to stop following through with the orders. He spat out a bunch of poison darts at the Ponyta, which poisoned the horse.
    Hornsly was really tired, but that didn't stop him from walking forward and jabbing his horn into the Ponyta. It didn't do too much damage, but the obedient little Poison type wouldn't even think of disobeying a direct order.
    Hornsly was burned, and Ponyta was poisoned. Both were both low on health. I could sense Chainy's nervousness as he stood beside me.
    "Hornsly, that's good for now! Stay away from the Ponyta now while I throw this Super Ball and attempt to catch it!" I yelled, pulling out a Super Ball out of my pocket. "Here's to a nice flaming horse capture!"
    I threw the Super Ball with such forse I nearly pulled my arm out of socket. The ball soared through the air, but the Ponyta couldn't dodge, it just stared at the ball as it flew toward it. The Super Ball got closer...
