    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

Angel took a while to decide what to do, and multiple emotions flickered across his face. He started to speak multiple times only to stop and think some more, and Ivy couldn't help but chuckle a little. She did appreciate that he was thinking out the battle, however, since she never liked to see a Pokémon get more hurt than was necessary. She liked to avoid damage at all if possible, even on Pokémon she went to capture on her own runs.

Finally he decided, shouting to his Gardevoir. “Rayl, eat its dreams!”

She nodded in response to the Trainer's request, agreeing to use the powerful move. Dream Eater was a great move, allowing a Pokémon to pry into a sleeping Pokémon's dreams and absorb the energy from it, letting them heal themselves. It came with a risk though, as the user was exposed to whatever the sleeper was seeing. Since Gardevoir were highly emotional Pokémon, Ivy hoped she wouldn't be too affected if Snover's dreams didn't turn out to be wonderful. Often times the Dream Eater caused dreams to go sour too.

The snow continued to howl as Rayl charged up her attack. Her eyes glowed pink with energy as she focused, and it became a beacon in the low-visibility environment. After a few seconds, Ivy saw the Snover become cloaked in the same pink haze across the field. The Grass type went from pleasantly sleeping to frowning and twitching in his sleep. As this happened, ghastly vines weaved out of the sleeping Pokémon to wrap together, forming a medium-sized stream that flowed right back to Rayl. The Gardevoir flinched a little as she absorbed the energy, but she did look healthier despite the frown on her face. She must've been seeing something unpleasant. She almost wanted to ask Haji what it was, since at times he could read into other people's minds, but when she thought about it, she realized she didn't really want to know.

Abruptly the pink cloud dissipated as the Snover snapped awake, looking a bit drained and panicked. He probably wasn't going to run, as he was tied into the soil, but he was breathing rapidly and his limbs were still twitching. He touched the ground as if to steady himself in the snow, and Ivy felt a little bad for the thing. He was rocking a bit back and forth, like she used to do with her arms wrapped around her legs after she had nightmares.

Rayl seemed compassionate too, at least that's what it looked like from the expression on her face. She probably felt bad about giving it pain, even though they were locked in battle. Then, her expression turned to shock as vines sprouted from the ground at her feet, reaching up to wrap around her and then toss her into the snow about twenty feet away. The Psychic type was somewhat light, so she didn't hit very hard, but Ivy could tell it threw her off a bit, especially since the hail continued to come down.

The vines disappeared back into the ground as the ones at Snover's feet glowed again, drawing in energy for him. With a concentrated look, he then began making a sharp sound. It wobbled a little as it shook but it grew steadier as he continued making it. Ivy couldn't tell what it was at first, but when she felt the corners of her eyes begin to droop, she recoiled in shock.

“Haji, cover your ears!” she called, moving up to cover her own. “Watch it, Angel! That's a Grasswhistle!”

She crouched down to give the Espeon at her feet more cover with her cloak and then watched the battle closely. Unlike Snover, they were susceptible to the cold. While Pokémon moves didn't always affect humans, she didn't want to take that chance up here on the harsh, snowy mountain. There was also a chance that the sound would be lost in the rampaging winds, but again, they couldn't risk it. Angel would have to do something really quick in order to prevent that song from putting some or all of them to sleep.

As Rayl used her Dream Eater attack, she was able to see the Snover’s dreams. Her mischievous demeanor disappeared as it was replaced with caring for the Sonver. She felt bad hurting him this way and continued to as the Snover woke up. However Rayl almost instantly lost her compassion when she was lifted off her feet and knocked to the ground. She looked around to see what had happened and saw the vines retreating back into the ground.

Rayl looked up at the Snover with eyes that had no more compassion. She got back to her feet and the Snover on the other side began to make an odd high sound. Angel’s eyes began to droop and he noticed the same was happening to Rayl.

“Haji, cover your ears!” Ivy called, moving up to cover her own. “Watch it, Angel! That's a Grasswhistle!”

“Oh hell…” Angel shook his head quick to keep himself awake, “Rayl, lets end this with your next attack, I don’t want you falling asleep!”

Angel had to think fast, there was no time. He dropped his backpack on the ground and unlike last time was able to throw his hand into his bag and extract a park ball. He tossed it into the air and it expanded on the decent. He caught it, ready to capture the Snover.

“Rayl, I want you to hit it with the best Psychic attack you can muster. Just remember I don’t want you to knock it out!”

‘Don’t worry Angel, I know what I’m doing remember?’ She said to his mind and she winked. Angel rolled his eyes and smiled.

“Yeah, yeah, okay.” Angel knew this was the best choice of action considering it was Rayl’s most powerful attack she could use right now, and even though Grasswhistle had a very low accuracy, he did not want Rayl to fall asleep. Hitting hard and hitting now should be enough to keep Rayl awake and enough to catch the Snover.

Rayl began her attack. As the sharp sound began to make her drowsy she fought through and was able to concentrate long enough to unleash the attack. Once again, like most of her psychic attacks her eyes glowed, but this time it was a purple color. She shot out her arms and released a cry. The Psychic blast could visibly been seen. The distortions had a dark color and the attack seemed to roll in the air towards the Snover. Angel smiled knowing this was exactly what he needed. Now was the time to catch it.

Angel looked at the ball in his hand and ran so he was next to Rayl. He then threw the ball at the Snover.

“That ought to do it, good job Rayl.” They watched as the ball went through the air.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

Angel had to shake his head, probably for the same reason she did: so she could stay awake. “Rayl, let's end this with your next attack. I don't want you falling asleep!” he called to his Pokémon. Ivy thought his a pretty good idea, and she could feel Haji agreed with her through the link. It wouldn't do them any good to have them all asleep on the cold, snowy mountain.

The Trainer then asked the Gardevoir to hit the Snover one last time with a Psychic attack, being sure to remind her not to knock the little thing out. She looked like she had a handle on it though. Angel also quickly rummaged in his bag for a Parkball while Rayl was getting her attack ready, tensing up to throw it after she was done and hopefully hitting before she was put to sleep. Or any of them, for that matter.

Rayl began to form the attack. Her eyes glowed purple, and a matching purple color faded to dark rings as the energy formed in front of her. Ivy used a little of Haji's help to see them better, watching the swirling energy wrap around and around in the coils. She could see the Gardevior beginning to droop a little, and the Ranger hoped she wouldn't be too affected by the whistle.

The Snover seemed to know the end was nearing. He was wearing down pretty quick now, despite his healing roots. In response to the Psychic type charging up her attack, he put on the cutest face he could. He honed in on the Gardevoir, trying to catch her eyes as he managed a somewhat suave expression. He swayed a little bit from side to side, and Ivy was puzzled at what was going on until Haji showed her.

He opened up the link between them a little more and made her 'see'. Previously invisible pink hearts were starting to form in the air. She watched the energy gather and stick and mold to shape, something she wouldn't be able to see without help until the thing was completely formed. They floated like fluffy clouds toward the Gardevoir, and Ivy could see she was struggling to concentrate a bit as Snover tried to Attract her.

The Ranger had only seen this technique used in battle a few times. Sometimes attraction caused a Pokémon to not attack the Pokémon they had fallen for. It was a great distracting tactic. It seemed that the Snover was at the end of the line and was trying whatever it took.

Rayl was almost swayed by it. Ivy could see the tension around her eyes and the way her arms wobbled as she debated following through with the attack. Her eyes hardened though as she seemed to remember something, and she fired the Psychic attack off in a wave as intended.

The attack hit hard, and it didn't seem to be modified by the weather this time. Angel watched closely and launched his ball right after. It sailed through the air, wobbling only slightly from the snow. The ball hit, and Ivy saw the Snover sigh before it was sucked in, its whole body heaving with the motion. The snow faded away and stopped as soon as the ball fell to the ground unmoving.

“There's another one,” she called, standing back up. “You're on a roll today.”

“Mien!” answered her, and Ivy looked around, confused.

She looked down only to see a cream and magenta colored bipedal weasel-like Pokémon coming out of her dark cloak like Haji had been. It pushed the dark fabric aside and looked up at her, showing off its gray ovals on the top of its head. “Foo,” it said, tugging on her coat and pointing at Angel.

“What, you want a shot at him too?” she asked it.

“Mie!” it called, nodding its head thoroughly.

She laughed. She definitely liked its attitude. She turned to Angel and said, “Well, you heard it. What do you say for another battle?”

Angel was a little worried that Rayl was going to fall under the Snover’s spell, but luck was on his side as she was able to overcome the attraction and launch her powerful Psychic attack at the Snover. The poor pokemon took the full blast of the attack and Angel smirked.

He had already thrown his ball which hit the Snover shortly after the attack splashed across it. The Snover was sucked into the ball with a red light. The ball closed and it fell into the snow with a soft plop. Ivy went over and picked up the ball. Angel noticed that the intense weather finally let up. He was grateful that the storm was finally over. Even with how cold it was he felt much warmer than he did a little bit ago.

Angel was happy. He caught his third pokemon and now it was a lot warmer than it was before.

“Thank god that weather is over.” Angel said

‘Oh please, you’re such a whiner’
Rayl sent her thoughts to him.

Angel rolled his eyes and was about to retort back when he heard Ivy speak

“There's another one,” she called, standing back up. “You're on a roll today.”

Angel turned towards the direction of the voice, he gave her a warm smile and was about to say that they should continue on.

“Mien!” Angel looked down and saw a little white and red pokemon come out of nowhere and tugging on Ivy’s coat. It then pointed at Angel.

“What, you want a shot at him too?” Ivy asked it.

“Mie!” it called, nodding its head thoroughly.

“Well what do you know, I am on a roll.” Angel called, “Alright, let’s roll little Mienfoo. Rayl, you up for another battle?”

Rayl responded by floating over in between Minefoo and Angel.

‘You best right I’m ready for another battle.’ Rayl let him know in his head and then let everyone know in the area.

    “Gaaardevoir…” She called out.

“That’s what I like to hear! Alright then hope you’re ready for this Mienfoo. Rayl! Lets stat things off with a bit of combo work! Beef yourself up with a Calm Mind and then hit it with a Psychic blast!”

Angel decided to go with a Calm Mind first mainly for the special attack boost. He knew that Mienfoo had a strong special attack and when coupled with attacks like Aura Sphere. What he did have to worry about was that strong attack power that Mienfoo had. For now, he had to hit fast and hit hard. Calm Mind was perfect.

Rayl then set to work. The determination in her eyes disappeared when she closed them. Her whole self visibly calmed and relaxed. The air tensed as an invisible aura came off of Rayl. Her eyes shot open and she looked visibly stronger. Rayl then worked on her second attack. Unlike last time this attack wasn’t as wild. Since she didn’t have to put extra power into the attack it was tamer and directed. The psychic waves were more organized as they shot towards the Mienfoo instead of wild spirals and color. However with the addition of Calm Mind, it would do more damage than normal.

That was his plan, hit it hard, hit it fast.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

Angel was ready for another battle, and after asking Rayl, it seemed she was too. The Mienfoo moved away from her cloak and stepped out onto the field. “That's what I like to hear!” he called. “Rayl! Let's start things off with a bit of combo work! Beef yourself up with a Calm Mind and then hit it with a Psychic blast!”

Haji snorted at the mental image of a muscular Gardevoir with biceps bulging as it flexed, and Ivy laughed as the Espeon shared with her through their link. The cat-like Pokémon rubbed up against her legs as they started to watch the battle, and for one of the first times in a long time, Ivy felt completely at ease. She was doing what she loved and having a good time at it. Nothing to complain about there.

Rayl began to focus, closing her eyes and quieting her body as she relaxed. Calm Mind was a great move, allowing the user to boost both their mystical attacking power and shielding strength. Even though the Gardevoir had just used her strongest attack in the last battle, the boost would help her concentrate and hit even harder than last time. The Ranger thought that maybe Angel was trying to finish this quickly.

As Ivy looked, the Mienfoo began to focus too. It took on a similar stance as the Psychic type, closing its eyes and relaxing its whole body. She had once heard that Mienfoo were serious fighters, so it didn't surprise her that the energetic Pokémon would know meditative type moves to help it battle better. The wild Pokémon remained calm as it opened its eyes around the same time as Rayl did.

The rings formed in front of her again as she readied her attack, only they were tighter and more controlled than before. She shot them off, and instead of spraying apart as they went, they stayed in more of a cylinder shape. One by one the rings of purple swirling energy shot toward the smaller Pokémon.

The Mienfoo was ready though, honing in on the rings as they approached. Energy also glowed around its hands, and Ivy wondered what it was doing.

As the first ring was about to strike it, it jumped clear over, shooting light from its palm. It landed and ducked to slide down enough under the next ring, moving in a near blur and shooting more of the tiny lights. It wasn't quite quick enough to keep going though, and the remaining rings of Rayl's attack slammed into it, sending it flying off into the snow with a poof of white confetti.

Ivy finally saw what the lights were as they raced toward the Gardevoir. Tiny glowing stars arced through the air, and since the Psychic type had been too focused on the attack and what was going on, they struck her like mini shuriken, a ton of tiny bee stings that caused her a flinch and move back.

“Well, it looks like we've got a ninja on our hands here,” Ivy said to Haji. He simply nodded, continuing to watch the battle while twitching his forked tail back and forth curiously.

The Mienfoo got up with a shout, quieting and taking its battle stance again while waiting for them to make another move.

    (lets make it a chick)

Angel glared at the Mienfoo as it seemed to copy Rayl’s exact movements. The Mienfoo seemed to calm itself down and close its eyes just as Rayl had done. The pair of them opened up their eyes at the same time and Angel knew that they bad both completed the Calm Mind attack.

“Oh, now that’s just not cool…” Angel said to anyone listening.

Rayl then started with her Psychic attack, the attack released and as the focused rings flew at the Mienfoo, it showed off its acrobatic skills by jumping over and dodging ring after ring. Between each of the dodges it shot a series of yellow lights from its fists. As Angel looked closer at the lights he saw that they looked like stars. Angel knew then that it was hitting Rayl with a Swift attack. Since Rayl was busy trying to hit the Mienfoo with its Psychic attack it couldn’t avoid the star beams. Finally the psychic attack hit. The Mienfoo was blasted backwards where it fell into the snow, showering it everywhere. It slid a bit until it stopped.

“Well, it looks like we've got a ninja on our hands here.” Ivy said, Angel understood what she meant. The stars reminded him of a ninja throwing shurikens and considering the way the pokemon looked, it added to the illusion.
The Mienfoo jumped up seeming to be hardly phased by the attack. It went back into its battle stance.

Something came to Angel’s mind. He reached into one of his pockets and pulled out his cell phone. He opened it up to check the time and let out a saddened sigh.

“Ivy, this looks like it’s going to be my final battle, there is somewhere else I have to be.” Angel closed the cell phone and put it back into his pocket. He then looked back at Rayl.

He then went through his list of moves, which wasn’t a lot. He had hit it with psychic and then beefed up her power. Confusion could possibly confuse his target, but the chances were too low for his taste considering the power of the attack. He could also hit the Mienfoo with a Magical Leaf, it was a sure hit, but not her strongest attack. He then looked at another option. Gardevoir’s Stored Power attack. Right now the base power would only be sixty, but there was something else he could do to help that.
“Rayl! I know we just used one, but I want you to use a Calm Mind attack again!” Angel shouted to Rayl whom turned her head a little bit so she could hear what Angel was saying better. She nodded in compliance and began the attack for a second time.
Like before, Rayl closed her eyes and her breathing slowed. It couldn’t be seen them but the attack actually slowed the pokemon’s heart rate. In addition in this short state the user’s senses were more attuned to her surroundings. She could hear each snowflake touch the ground and she could hear the Mienfoo breath. Every time she took a breath through her nose she could feel the cold mountain air enter her system and chill her insides. She felt the changes in wind and the snowflakes touch her skin and it chilled her. She loved this state even with how mischievous she usually was with Angel. She wished the attack would last longer but in battle, that wasn’t an option. She opened her eyes for the second time and the look in her eyes that appeared would have made anyone flinch; she smirked, she knew what was coming next.

“Rayl! Lets do it! Stored Power!” Angel shouted out. He knew that Rayl had her special attack and special defense increased by times two. Even if the Mienfoo used a second Calm Mind, he was still going to be hitting the thing with a strong attack. With the stat increase he knew that Stored Power’s base power was increased to one hundred.

Rayl was happy to finally have the okay to release the attack. She brought her arms to her chest and a intense white light began to form between her arms and her chest, right at the point where her emotion sensing horn was. She continued to keep her arms to herself as the white light grew brighter. It felt like it was now mid day it was so bright. Angel wondered how much brighter the attack would get if Rayl’s stats were increased anymore than they already were. Finally Rayl released her arms and the attack of white energy shot forwards towards the Mienfoo. Angel had a quick thought and announced it to Rayl.

“Remember Rayl! That little guy can move! So when it does! Track him with the attack; make sure you hit that little guy!” Angel called out. Even in the attack he knew she heard him, for she let him know though their psychic connection.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

Angel watched with his own version of the not-impressed look on his face when he saw the Mienfoo copying what they were doing. Then, he reached into one of his pockets for his phone. He studied it for a minute and made a face, letting out a sigh.

“Ivy, this looks like it's going to be my final battle. There is somewhere else I have to be,” he said, closing his phone and sliding it back into the pocket it came from.

The Ranger nodded, understanding. Sometimes Trainers had emergencies they had to go to. It happened. The same thing happened with other Rangers. That's what led to takeover runs. They weren't too far up the mountain yet, so getting back quickly wasn't going to be a problem. Angel had made a good haul too, so she was glad he was probably going to walk away from this run happy. She liked repeat visitors to her Park.

Angel thought about their next move for a moment, then he told Rayl to use Calm Mind again. Ivy wasn't sure what he was doing, but she hoped he did. If they gave the other Pokémon too much time to set up, things could get ugly.

Rayl set herself to clear her mind again, and she looked like she was really in a place of peace. The extra power would probably help her do whatever Angel had planned, but she was worried about the Mienfoo. While Rayl was concentrating, the Fighting type held her ground, almost digging in and bracing herself for motion.

“Rayl! Let's do it! Stored Power!” Angel shouted.

The Gardevoir nodded and brought her hands up to her chest, focusing around her emotion horn. An orb formed in the space there, and it pulsed and glowed along with the horn. The light grew brighter and brighter from all the powering up Rayl had done.

The Trainer called out to remind his partner that Mienfoo knew how to move, as she demonstrated after the last attack. The Gardevoir looked like she understood and then let her arms go, shooting all of that energy outward. It tracked the wild Pokémon, which was a good thing, since it jetted off as soon as Rayl let her attack fly.

She zoomed around in the snow, but unfortunately she wasn't fast enough to avoid the power. The energy honed in on her, seeming locked on. It blasted her clean off her feet and back into the snow. Though she was hurt, she tried not to let it show, and she jumped back up on her feet quickly. She barreled back toward Rayl, and before the other Pokémon could react, Mienfoo leaped up into the air and struck with her feet.

The impact left Rayl staggering, but she couldn't do anything to counter Mienfoo. The Fighting type was already backpedaling, using the Gardevior as a launch pad to make a u-turn and race back enough to regroup and plan.

“Ouch, that one looked like it hurt,” she said, and Haji agreed next to her.

Angel was mesmerized by the power put behind that attack. The area was lit up by the bright energy. The little Mienfoo tried its hardest to get away from the powerful attack. As the Mienfoo saw the attack coming it used its ninja like speed to try to avoid the death beam. This gave Angel another reason to think of the Mienfoo as a ninja pokemon. However in order for the attack to hit, Rayl just had to redirect her attack a little bit while the Mienfoo had to move fast and a lot. In the end the attack hit dead on and the Mienfoo was launched backwards into the snow. Once again she was brought to the snow and the white powder was blasted everywhere. The Mienfoo jumped up again acting like the deadly looking attack had done nothing at all. The charring on the Mienfoo’s chest would concur however and Angel knew that the attack had hurt a lot.

Angel wanted to catch the Mienfoo after this next attack, in order to get the pokemon he knew he was going to have to get creative. He pulled up Rayl’s arsenal in his mind’s eye and knew that she still had two attacks that she had not used this trip. Both of these attacks were low powered attacks but they could just be the ticket Angel needed to finish this battle off. Angel loved this little pokemon the more he battled it. It reminded him so much of a ninja, something he had a fascination for, screw those pirate lovers.

Angel decided to have a private conversation with Rayl, he knew that Haji would probably let Ivy know what the plan was, and he didn’t mind, he did not want the Mienfoo knowing the attacks he was preparing. Angel thought in hind sight, he should to this all the time, it would make battles a lot more in his favor if the opponent had no idea what was coming, even if it was just a basic Psychic attack, that wasn’t what this was going to be however.

Angel opened his mind to Rayl.

‘Rayl,’ The Gardevoir tilted her head not used to the commands though their psychic connection. ‘This is what I’d like us to do. Were gonna get creative and I don’t want the Mienfoo to know. I also figured it would be cool to practice using our psychic link in battle. Anyway, I want you to use a Magical Leaf attack; however I want that coupled with a Confusion attack. Magical Leaf will summon leaves out of nowhere and you can launch them at the Mienfoo, but you can control the leaves using your confusion. You can hit him from all sides with that. Imagine a makeshift Leaf Storm attack.’

Rayl turned her head once again towards Angel and winked, her own way of saying she received the command was going to do it to the best of her ability. Angel just shook his head with a slight smile.

Rayl then went to work. She placed her hands in front of her in a unique way. One hand was held low and to the left while the other was held high and to the right. The right hand was held so the palm was facing inward and the left had the palm facing up. Psychic energy began to release from the two hands and between the two hands green floating leaves began to form. As soon as the leaf had fully formed it shot towards the Mienfoo, as soon as the leaf left the space a new leaf began to form. However, before any of the leaves got close to the Mienfoo they changed direction, some shot upwards some shot to the left, and some shot to the right. Upon further inspection of the attacking Gardevoir, one would notice the bright colored green eyes representing the magical creation of the leaves; however, there was something else. A blue hit around the edges. The signs of a Confusion attack. She was using the attack to control the conjured leaves. After releasing three salvos of leaves, the green glow left, only to leave behind the blue outlining. The leaves that were now fully summoned were encircling the Mienfoo. Using her psychic power she brought the leaves inward creating a tornado of leaves. The attack was not nearly as powerful as a Leaf Storm’s attack, for each of those leaves were directed in a sharp attack at the opponent. This form of attack changed their direction, meaning not all the leaves would hit like they were supposed to.

Angel nodded knowing that this was an opportune time to attack. He pulled a Super Ball from his bag easily this time, for he had learned his lesson fighting the Scrafty. He chose a Super Ball because he wanted to make sure that he caught the thing. He was proud of how Rayl had done and he would let her know later. Soon the conjured leaves would disappear, representing the end of the attack. He knew the time limit and right before the attack ended he would throw the ball, hoping to also catch the Mienfoo off guard.

“Great job Rayl! My turn!” He said, and with that, he threw his ball.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

As she watched the Mienfoo move, Ivy began to see the truth of her words about comparing her to a ninja. She was flexible, sneaky, and willing to fight hard. Mienfoo would make a great addition to anyone's team. The Ranger was a little jealous herself. She probably needed to get up here on her own run. She bet if she asked one of the others, they'd be happy to take her on a speed run.

Angel looked deep in thought now, but his eyes kept moving, like he was talking inside his head. Then she realized that he was probably talking to Rayl in the mind so Mienfoo didn't hear whatever it was they were planning. Since the little creature was pretty smart, this was probably best.

“Do you wish me to listen?” Haji asked, and she shook her head.

“That's alright, Haji. We don't need to know. We can just watch.” Besides, it was more fun that way for her when she didn't know what exactly would happen. She trusted Haji to protect them if they needed it. For now, she was just going to enjoy the show.

The Gardevoir then focused, raising one arm into the air and resting one arm low. Leaves began to seep out of the snow from below, curling upward into the air as they shimmered and gleamed different colors before settling into their natural green. They swirled and danced in the slight breeze. Then, they began to whip toward Mienfoo.

They didn't swoop in for the hit right away though, it was almost like they were teasing. They flew in close and then veered off in the other direction, staying just out of reach and twirling into a vortex of foliage. Then Ivy saw the light blueish glow around the edges of the pieces, matched by the same hue in the Gardevoir's eyes. She was using some sort of psychic attack to control them.

Then the leaves started to flow and spin and flick dangerous edges as they began their descent. It was like a Leaf Storm attack in a way, although this one was much more controlled. It was likely to be less powered too, but they didn't want to knock the poor Fighting type out, so that was fine.

Mienfoo watched the leaves carefully, tensing up in preparation for something, though she wasn't sure what to do about it. She didn't panic, but she wasn't exactly peaceful, no matter how calm her personality seemed. She could do little else than just take the attack, and it knocked her off her feet once again, dropping her face first into the snow. Ivy thought she'd be alright though.

“Great job, Rayl! My turn!” Angel called as he pulled out a Superball. He launched it into the air, hoping to catch the Mienfoo while it was still down.

The Ranger watched the ball hit with a tap, sucking the Pokémon up. It fell softly into the snow, and the tell-tale ding sounded, telling them that once again Angel had snagged a Pokémon.

“All right,” Ivy said as she went to go pick the ball up. “That makes four, and since you said this was your last battle, you have a decision to make.” She reached into her vest pocket to pull out the other three balls that stored future teammates. “You've caught this Mienfoo, a Sneasel, a Scrafty, and a Snover. Which three will you be taking with you?”

Angel knew it was going to come to this. He had four great new pokemon and was only allowed to bring three with him. Sneasel was a keeper; it would make a great team addition. Scrafty was a powerful pokemon and he had to wonder maybe there is someone else that would want one. That left the last two. In the end, Angel went with the Mienfoo, in battle it would do better than the Snover. That, and its personality was way better. It was like a frikken ninja!

“Okay, well Im going to have to go with Scrafty, Mienfoo, and Sneasel.” Jack said.

He waited for the ranger to hand him over his new pokemon, when she did he was going to have Rayl teleport him out of the park.

“By the way, Iv, thankyou very much for the park run, and may I add, that it made it much more enjoyable considering you’re very easy on the eyes.” Angel said with a smile.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

“Okay, well I'm going to have to go with Scrafty, Mienfoo, and Sneasel,” Angel said.

She nodded, thinking he chose wisely if he was into any sort of battling. She wasn't much into it herself, but she thought she might not mind trying. The Park was always her first priority, but it didn't hurt to have some hobbies on the side.

“By the way, Iv, thank you very much for the Park run, and may I add that it made it much more enjoyable considering you're very easy on the eyes,” he said with a huge smile on her face.

She laughed. “No problem. I'm glad you had a good time. Now that you've chosen, we'll zap back to the Outpost at the mountain base to register these guys under you. Then you can get going to wherever you need to be.”

With Haji and Rayl's help, they got back quickly, and Ivy had Angel sign off on the release forms as she registered the Pokéballs. She waved to the Trainer as he departed, hoping that he'd come back to the Park some day. She'd be sure to put a good mark in his file when she finished up her paperwork. There were only a few problem Trainers that ever showed up here and even less that came as repeats, but the Rangers tended to share notes on them regardless, just for a heads up.

Ivy did what preliminary work she could at Oktori before warping back to the Main Outpost with Haji. As she neared the front door, she smiled as she remembered what had gone on earlier this morning. She couldn't wait to see Buzz's face.

She confidently entered the front room as she pushed open the doors, and she was pleased to see some of the photos still pinned up where she had left them. It also seemed that everyone she passed had a smile or a smirk at her work. She beamed; she couldn't help it.

As it was still morning, Buzzer hadn't been in yet. That might give her a few peaceful minutes of paperwork before she got to see all the reactions. Haji jumped up in her rolling chair as she took her heavy vest off and hung it on the back, and she was glancing at Angel's file she picked off from the corner of her desk when she heard the beginning of it start.

“Ivy!” Buzz's voice called from what sounded like the main door.

It was days like today that she really loved her job.
