"Uh... I think I'll pass on this one," she said disinterested in the 'mon. "Oh, and if it tries to follow us, here's some money for a Pokedoll..." We began to walk away and now sooner had we reached a beat dirt track than I heard a whining noise from behind. I turned around to see the Oddish was following behind, trying to hide in the bushes. The poor thing must've been lonely. Louise took the Clefairy pokedoll from my hands and tossed it out to the edge of the bush. Oddish dove out of the bush and began playing with it, forgetting all about us immediately.

"Is there anything else you want in particular?" I asked. "There's so many Pokemon that live around here so I'm sure we'll find at least one more you like.." I finished as we walked along the track. It winded around the forest as we got deeper and deeper inside. It began getting darker as the larger trees were beginning to block the light coming in here. A little ahead I saw a sprout-like Pokemon sitting on a treetrunk, swinging its legs to and fro. "Hey, it's a Budew. Interested?"

Ranger Jay nodded and started to walk away. I followed suit. I didn't think we would have to sprint, or even just jog quickly, to escape the rather beaten up Oddish - I was wrong, however. We hadn't gotten far - just some paces along the so-called dirt trail - when we suddenly heard a whining sound. I almost immediately knew what - or rather, who - had whimpered that cry. I fought the building urge to groan as I spun around, finding the Grass-Poison-type - of course. They just didn't know when a no was a no, did they?

I tossed my male companion the money as he, in turn, gave me a pink-colored toy. I took it quickly, then proceeded to fling the Pokedoll towards the wild creature. The Clefairy-inspired plush toy landed at the edge of the bush where the Oddish had been hiding. It dove out of the plant, clutching the doll - forgetting all about us, and luckily, too.

"Is there anything else you want in particular?" Jay asked as we continued to walk down the path. "There's so many Pokemon that live around here so I'm sure we'll find at least one more you like.."

I nodded slowly, thinking his question over. My eyes moved about, taking in the sheer beauty of our surroundings. Isn't nature a wonder? The track winded about the forest, and more and more trees came into view. For a moment there, it didn't even look like the Botanic Gardens any longer - no, it somehow looked a bit like the Woods, which was another zone of the National Park.

I took a deep breath, the large trees' leaves shading the sunlight - only allowing patches to penetrate through. "Actually, I am interested in a Shiftry - or a Seedot, rather - as well as a Ferroseed and maybe a Budew."

A little further ahead, a green-colored spout-like Pokemon sat on a sturdy-looking tree branch. Its triangular, stubby yellow feet swung back and forth cutely. The creature appeared to be wearing a green bib. The face was yellow, with long, black, vertical streaks as eyes. The Bud Pokemon had vines sprouting from the top of its head. The entity was nothing new - in fact, I had encountered one earlier, except it had evolved into a Roselia - and I hadn't the right supplies to attempt to capture it. Though watching something evolve out here in the wild certainly was one exciting experience.

"Well, would ya look at that," I said, my hand already digging into my pocket. I retrieved a red-and-white orb, one that contained my Machoke.

"Superman, come on out!" I called. This fight was probably going to be my final one, though I did plan on staying until the end. I had decided my Fighting-type had to have his share of bouts.

"Okay, let's start things off with a Dynamic Punch! Hit it hard to induce confusion, but not full force to knock it out," I instructed. My Pokemon could be a little too rough at times, for he was quite bold and proud. But if I was able to command the order well enough and strictly enough, he would usually listen. Usually.

I held my breath, waiting for my plan to unfold. It was risky for two main reasons - one, Superman might get hard-headed and could disobey my command; and, second, the entity's ability could be Poison Point. This meant that there was a somewhat large chance that the Superpower Pokemon could be inflicted with poison.

I watched my Machoke concentrating his energy into his hand, which curled into a rather tight-looking fist. Soon, it would hopefully begin to glow with power...

"Well, would ya look at that. Superman, come on out!" my trainer, Lou, shouted as she tossed her regular Pokeball into the air. A tough looking, blue Pokemon appeared and looked down at the the Budew with an intimidating face. Budew just smiled up at it serenely. "Okay, let's start things off with a Dynamic Punch! Hit it hard to induce confusion, but not full force to knock it out," Lou added after a little bit of concentration. I saw the Machoke's head focus on the target as his right fist drew backwards and curled up into a tight fist. I could see that he was focusing all of his energy into the one spot as he prepared to hit the Budew with all his might. Budew didn't look too happy with this.

"Bud, bud!" it cried energetically as two seeds shot out of its top. They slammed into the Machoke's chest but he didn't seem all that hurt. Those muscles helped to provide bulk but they were also the source of his power. Machoke then swung his fist square into the Budew's stomach, sending the poor creature flying backwards and landing on a compost heap. It got to its feet happily and turned to face the Machoke. I could tell it was preparing to perform another move. Budew made a squeaky kind of noise and then it fired out some purple spikes which scattered the ground around the Machoke's feet. Machoke would have to be very careful not to thread on the Toxic Spikes.

I was curious to see how Lou would command her Machoke in order for it to get away from the poisonous needles that were hidden in the soil all around it by this stage.

Budew 57% [seems a little confused] - used Mega Drain, Toxic Spikes

    Vs

Machoke 83% - used Dynamic Punch
