Individual RP: Merry-Modio

Joe sat at his desk searching through the files in front of him. He picked one up and flicked right to the last page and scanned down the page for that word that every Ranger wished wasn't stamped on the page. At the bottom of the page was the word "Taken" in big red writing. Joe leaned on his new spinning black chair and sighed as he threw the file onto the desk.

"It seems like every run has been taken" Joe said as he looked out through the window. Joe had signed up to be a Ranger and hoped to explore new places and see Pokemon in there natural habitat. However ever since he had joined there had been no free runs. Joe looked at the old fashioned Cuckoo Clock, which had been given to him by his Grandmother when he found out he had the job. Joe decided to check out the front desk to see if they had any free runs left, I doubt it

Joe walked out of his office and walked down the hallway looking at the old pictures which hung from the walls. This was the oldest block here at the Ranger's Headquarters and is where the new recruits work. Joe had met a lot of new faces with this job which was a bonus. Joe slowly walked out into the cold winter air. It had snowed last night and there was fresh snow on the floor. Joe had an interest with weather and how it works, Joe guess its a hobby of mine.

Joe walked up to the entrance of the Main Building and cleaned my shoes so there wasn't snow inside the building. He walked up to the front desk and asked, "Is there any free runs available?"

"Umm, Hang on Let me check" said the Women from behind the desk. Joe looked across and saw her grab a small file from the desk. She turned back to him and handed over the file. "This one is new" She said as Joe took the file from her hand. Joe quickly opened the file and scanned down it to find out where he was going to. He smiled and shut the file and headed back to his office.

Once inside his office Joe grabbed his bag and Pokeballs and walked out of office again. Joe headed towards the Docks where he would meet his trainer to go to The Great Lakes. Joe smiled as he walked out of the office building, he was finally going on an adventure.

Dermodio was looking at a pile of snow. His mind was wandering about the miracles of water, when a ranger appeared. "Hey there! I'm here to take you on a run!" he said. Dermodio grinned. "Thanks! This is my first time, so I hope I don't screw up." Dermodio said, and turned towards the frozen Lake. It was quite beutiful; The Sky was as white as the snow that covered eveerything, and large spots of Ice had developed around the edges of the lakes. It was possible to see silhoettes of Pokemon underneath the ice, though it was nearly impossible to tell what they were. Dermodio slowly stepped on some of the ice, fearful it would crack. One of his Pokeballs opened, and Pondy the Poliwag hopped out. Pondy, being much smaller, pressed his face confidently onto the ice and peered in. Dermodio recalled Pondy, and turned around. "My name is Dermodio, pleased to meet you!" He said, as he edged off the ice.

 

Joe looked up and saw a young trainer walk towards the Docks. Joe looked at my file and looked back at the trainer. He shut the file and walked towards the trainer.

"Hey there, I am Joe, I assume you are Dermodio? I'm here to take you on a run to the Great Lakes" Joe said while hiding under the thick black jacket.

"Thanks! This is my first time, so I hope I don't screw up." Dermodio said. Joe didn't want to mention that this was his first time as well. Joe smiled and walked towards the teleporter.

"This will take us to Great Lakes, I hope the winter weather hasn't made the Pokemon flee to more hotter places" Joe said trying to keep warm, "Oh and one last thing you do know the Park rules?" Joe said hoping he knew it because he hasn't remembered.

Joe looked across and saw that Dermodio was walking on the little lake which was right in front of my office. He grabbed a small red and white Pokeball and threw it in the air. From the white flash appeared a small tadpole Pokemon, Poliwag. It must have been his Starter Pokemon.

"Time to get moving, if we don't hurry up we will miss all the Pokemon" Joe said trying to usher Dermodio towards the teleporter.

"This will take us to Great Lakes, I hope the winter weather hasn't made the Pokemon flee to more hotter places. Oh and one last thing you do know the Park rules?" Dermodio nodded, as he had studied them before leaving. "Time to get moving, if we don't hurry up we will miss all the Pokemon" Joe said trying to usher Dermodio towards the teleporter.
Dermodio put his hand on it, and they zipped out of where they were, and landed in a bush near the Great Lakes. It was the most magestic thing Dermodio had ever sen. "Wow..." he breathed. "This is incredible." Dermodio looked around. "I think I see things moving around over there. At least this means I won't go home empty handed, Cause I am gonna catch the first Pokemon I see! Unless its a Wooper or Lotad."

 

We walked into the teleporter and Joe let Dermodio press the big blue button, which had small writing on it saying 'Great Lakes' There were many of these teleporters which teleport people to different locations in the park. They were all linked up to one big generator which lies in the heart of the rangers Headquarters. Joe had never seen it before but people had told him that it was a magnificent piece of machinery.

Dermodio pressed the button and the suddenly were we whisked of our feet. All you can see is bright white as you travel through time and space. Joe remembered something he should of told Dermodio before he teleported. It makes you feel squeamish which isn't good when you are starting you park run. However Joe had a lot of practice, delivering food to the weak young Pokemon.

After minuets we arrived at a very mild lake. I guess the snow hadn't reached this far. Joe walked forward and watched Dermodio look around. Joe couldn't help but gasp in the great lake presence. It was beautiful watching the wild Pokemon leap in and out of the lake like a needle when you sow.

Wow..." Dermoido breathed, "This is incredible."

Dermodio looked around and said "I think I see things moving around over there. At least this means I won't go home empty handed, Cause I am gonna catch the first Pokemon I see! Unless its a Wooper or Lotad."

"What's so bad about a Lotad, They are very popular for battling because of their special ability Swift Swim. Anyway do you want to carry down this path or walk along the river edge, maybe you might see a great Pokemon" Joe asked as he looked at the split in the road ahead of him.

"What's so bad about a Lotad, They are very popular for battling because of their special ability Swift Swim. Anyway do you want to carry down this path or walk along the river edge, maybe you might see a great Pokemon." Joe Retorted. "The thing bad about Lotad is Ludicolo. Nuff said." Dermodio said over his shoulder, and proceeded towards the frozen lake. As with the pond back near the base, there were shapes visable under the ice. Dermodio carefully laid a foot on the ice, which promptly cracked. Dermodio leaped off the ice. "Another thing I won't catch: Barboach." Dermodio looked through the hole on which, moments ago, his foot had been on. The shapes were clearer now. The Pokemon here obviously didn't mind the cold.

 

OCC: Take in mind, it hasn't snow yet here, so the lake wont be frozen.

"The thing bad about Lotad is Ludicolo. Nuff said." Dermodio said, and headed towards the lake.

Joe turned around and watch Dermodio looking over into the lake and watching the silhouettes of the Pokemon gently swim around in their natural habitat. Joe smiled and looked across at a flock of Wingull soar above, with the help from the cool wind that appeared frequently. In the corner of Joe ear he heard the sound of a huge splash. He turned quickly and looked out into one of the many lakes. Joe looked in amazement and noticed a huge fish Pokemon. Joe got out some Binoculars and focused on the Pokemon in the middle of the lake. After seeing this Pokemon Joe stepped back and put down the Binoculars.

The legendary Pokemon Kyogre was lying in the middle of the lake. It confused Joe why Kyogre would be in a lake but continued to star in amazement.

"Dermodio, I believe this is the Legendary Pokemon Kyogre. Ancient stories tell that Kyogre and Groudon created land and sea" Joe said whilst putting his binoculars in his bag, "Well, we cant stay around for long there is a great lake not to far from here, Oh I forgot to mention but what sort of Pokemon are you looking for?"

As Dermodio looked into the clear water, there was an almighty splash. Dermodio whipped round, and saw a giant whale of a fish (Yes, I know whales are not fish. It is a figure of speech.) in one of the lakes. Joe had obviously seen it aswell. "Dermodio, I believe this is the Legendary Pokemon Kyogre. Ancient stories tell that Kyogre and Groudon created land and sea" Joe said whilst putting his binoculars in his bag, "Well, we cant stay around for long there is a great lake not to far from here, Oh I forgot to mention but what sort of Pokemon are you looking for?"
Joe did not get an immediate answer. Dermodio had dropped to his knees and seemed to be groveling. "ALL MY LIFE I'VE WANTED TO SEE THIS CREATURE. AND NOW I HAVE." Dermodio's eyes widened, and whipped out his Pokedex. "Gotta record this, gotta record this... YES! CHARRI CHARRA!" Dermodio had gained Kyogeres Pokedex Data. He then blinked back into normallity. "Hmm? Oh, weeeell, I would like water Pokemon, mm, that don't need to stay in water all the time. But not a disguisting one, like Peliper. No way. A...Cute one. That evolves into something brilliant."

 

Joe looked at Dermodio waiting or a answer but what cam out of Dermodio mouth surprised Joe.

"ALL MY LIFE I'VE WANTED TO SEE THIS CREATURE. AND NOW I HAVE." Dermodio's eyes widened, and whipped out his Pokedex. "Gotta record this, gotta record this... YES! CHARRI CHARRA!"

Well I guess that's one way to react Joe looked across at the Kyogre and watched it dive elegantly back into the lake. He turned around and looked at Dermodio. He put his Pokedex in his bag and walked towards me.

"Hmm? Oh, weeeell, I would like water Pokemon, mm, that don't need to stay in water all the time. But not a disgusting one, like Peliper. No way. A...Cute one. That evolves into something brilliant."

"He sure likes to talk alot" Joe said to himself trying not to hurt Dermodio feelings. Joe turned back and said "I know the right place to find an interesting Pokemon" He carried on walking up the dirt path and decided to let Romulus have some fresh air. Joe grabbed a red and white ball from his belt and threw it in the air. Out came a tall strong Infernape and started to look around the path ahead of us.

Suddenly a Buizel jumped out from the river and Landed on the path ahead of us. It looked like the Buizel wanted to battle.

"Well this Buizel sure wants to battle, it looks strong, want to battle it?" Joe asked Dermodio.

Dermodio let out a squeal. "Just what the doctor ordered! A Buizel!" Dermodio grabbed one of his Pokeballs, and called out a titanic boulder. "Gaaah-lom!" roared A'splode the Golem. "A'Splode, I know it has the advantage, but you can do this!" Golem looked at it's opponent, which was just there chasing it's tail. It was quite mischevious looking, and had a frill in his hair. A thought entered Dermodio's mind. It went something like this: AH SHAHLL CATCH YEH, IF ETS TEH LAHST THANG AH DOOOO! RAWR! RAAAAWR!, But Dermodio edited it out when saying this into: "Come on, I want to catch this Buizel! A'splode, use Rock Blast!" A'splode rocked backwards slightly, then snapped back and let out a number of heavy boulders from it's gaping, roaring mouth, each Stone leaving sand in it's wake. A'splode had done quite well with the attack, Dermodio thought; however, how should he know. This was his first time seeing a Golem use Rock Blast. Never the less, it was quite impressive to see.

 

"Just what the doctor ordered! A Buizel!" Dermodio grabbed one of his Pokeballs, and called out a titanic boulder Pokemon. "Gaaah-lom!" roared A'splode the Golem. "A'Splode, I know it has the advantage, but you can do this!"

Joe pondered for a second. A rock and ground type against a water type? He then took some steps back and let Dermodio have some space. Joe looked into the eyes of Golem and Buizel, they looked very psyched up for this battle.

"Come on, I want to catch this Buizel! A'splode, use Rock Blast!" Said Dermodio as he pointed his finger towards the Buizel at the other end of the field. Golem started to close it's eyes and suddenly rocks appeared in front of his hands. She opened her eyes and threw the rocks towards Buizel. Buizel smiled and jumped into the air and started to form a water torpedo around it's head. It headed straight towards the Rocks that Golem throwed from her hands. The tip of Buizels Aqua Jet smashed into the rocks and split the huge rocks into tiny little pebbles. It looked like it took some damage but not a lot. Buizel gave a little wink and started to get bigger.

Joe reached into his bag and brought out his notepad and started to flick threw it.

"Yes I have found the right page, lets see.... Ah I believe the move is called Bulk Up, its where the Pokemon gains Attack and Deffense. You should take that in mind" Joe said to Dermodio.

Joe looked up and watched both Pokemon staring in each others eyes, this looked like it was going to be an interesting match.

"Yes I have found the right page, lets see.... Ah I believe the move is called Bulk Up, its where the Pokemon gains Attack and Deffense. You should take that in mind" Joe said to Dermodio.
Dermodio stared hard at the Buizel. This was one tricky Pokemon. Bulk Up had raised both it's Attack And Defense, which was a major advantage, considering A'splode only knew Physical attacks. Suddenly, Dermodio had an Idea. A Devious Idea.

"Use Stone Edge to make yourself a ramp!" Dermodio ordered. Golem obliged, then turned to face Buizel. Suddenly, A'splode's eyes lost all feeling, and started glowing snow-white. Two glowing rings that matched it's eyes started rotating around Golem. They then turned to razor sharp pebbles. A'splode let out a ripping roar, and then swished it's arms up. The stones flew high into the sky, going faster and hotter as they went. The Stones then slammed into the ground and Buizel upon a gesture of A'Splodes short stubby arms. It had gouged out a little hole, with not very deep sides. Buizel could easily get out if it wished. Dermodio then called a second command to Golem.

"Use the pit to gain momentum for a blinding fast Rollout!" Again, Golem did as it was told, and curled into a ball. A'splode rolled quickly on the spot for a moment, then zipped past Buizel, down one side of the pit and up the other. As Golem was going so fast, It flew straight into the air, and Golem's hard shell turned a bit red with all the heat it was gaining. Then Gravity took Control. Golem, still in it's shell, fell towards the ground even faster than before. It hit the ground with an almighty BANG, and she and Buizel were lost in a cloud of sand created by Golem's sudden Impact with the Ground.

Golem got up. She seemed not to have taken any damadge. Dermodio zipped his head around and looked at Buizel, seeing if the attack had caused any damadge.

 

OCC: That's very good, just remember that I judge weather it hits or not, but apart from that it was a good piece, I expect more


Joe looked across at Dermodio and wondered how he was going to get around Buizel new strength. If Buizel manages to hit Golem with a powerful water attack, Dermodio could be in a lot of trouble. Then Dermodio began to smile, Joe began to wonder what he had just thought of.


"Use Stone Edge to make yourself a ramp!" Dermodio ordered. Joe began to wondered why Dermodio would do that, it's using Golem's power to build a ramp but instead of that it could use that power to attack Buizel. Suddenly from Golem's hand appeared a white ring with small boulders along it. Golem roared as he let loose the stones towards the ground. It was scary how loud Golem shouted, it could scare a whole village.

With the ramp ready, Joe was wondering what would Dermodio move be next? Maybe the ramp could be a distraction or maybe Golem might blast the ramp to create more rocks which would hurt Buizel more.

"Use the ramp to gain momentum for a blinding fast Rollout!" Dermodio said as he watched Golem spin into a tight ball and speed off towards Buizel, who was stunned by the sheer power of Golem. Golem began to speed towards the ramp and took off into the sky. Joe looked up to find the large boulder Pokemon, but there he could not find him. Suddenly a giant meteor flew down towards Buizel. Joe just watched in amazement, Golem had used the ramp to increase the hight and speed of the move, which would cause more damage. Joe began to think that this kid knew what he was doing.

The huge meteor like Pokemon plummeted towards Buizel. Within seconds it hit Buizel and a giant dust cloud covered the pitch. Joe quickly protected his eyes from the dusty air. He slowly opened them to reveille both Pokemon standing, like nothing happened.

Buizel gave another little wink and produced a small blue ball from his hands and threw it into the air. The blue ball hit the gray clouds above us, proberly with snow. Then the sky turned black and suddenly it started to rain. Joe quickly grabbed Romulus's Poke Ball and returned the Fire Pokemon. He turned around and grabbed two waterproof coats from his bag.

"Dermodio, quick put this on before you catch a chill" Joe said throwing the yellow waterproof coat towards Dermodio.

Suddenly Buizel began to make another blue ball from his hands and threw it up in the air. Surely you can't have Rain twice? The blue ball went half way into the air and the suddenly stopped. It started to rotate anti-clock wise and then water began to come out from the ball. Joe looked across and then turned to Dermodio and said, "Watch out, that's Water Sport and by the looks of it the ground has turned into slushy mud"

Dermodio grinned at how hard the attack hit. Buizel had by now used Rain Dance.

"Dermodio, quick put this on before you catch a chill" Joe said throwing a yellow waterproof coat towards Dermodio.

Dermodio caught it, and threw it on. Golem did not seem to like the rain.
Suddenly Buizel began to make another blue ball from his hands and threw it up in the air.
The blue ball went half way into the air and the suddenly stopped. It started to rotate anti-clock wise and then water began to come out from the ball. Joe looked across and then turned to Dermodio and said, "Watch out, that's Water Sport and by the looks of it the ground has turned into slushy mud"

Golem slipped in the mud, then hastily erected itself. "Don't like rain, huh, A'splode? Well, no way to stop it for the moment. Now try this! Use Rock Polish and use the ramp technique again, only this time Double Edge on the way down!" Golem shone silver, and started to move quicker than usual. She then curled into Rollout again, and used the ramp to fly into the air once more. This time, however, Golem rushed down at the opponent and tackled down towards it with great force. While charging, it left behind a silver or gold trail, changing every few seconds, and at the same time her body turned gold. As it fell, it's body returned to normal color and it became surrounded in a white aura. It then went so fast you could hear him falling, and the air pushing off him.

 

It was still raining and the longer it went on, the hard the rain would come down. Joe looked across at Dermodio putting on the yellow rain coat and turning towards Golem trying to not fall over. It was an impressive move that the Buizel used to make sure that Golem wasn't stable, also it doesn't help that Buizel is now super quick due to it's ability Swift Swim. Joe looked across towards Dermodio and wondered what his next move would be.

"Don't like rain, huh, A'splode? Well, no way to stop it for the moment. Now try this! Use Rock Polish and use the ramp technique again, only this time Double Edge on the way down!" Dermodio ordered as he watch Golem try and find it feet. However Buizel had different ideas and started to grab some mud in its paws and throw towards Golem.

"This is interesting, that move is called Mud Slap, however normally with little mud the move is pretty weak but with more mud might increase the power" Joe said as he watched the Buizel sped forwards and backwards picking mud and throwing it towards Golem. Golem looked on at the attack and looked very defenseless but started to glow in a white colour. Surely Golem could not evolve again?

Joe looked across at Golem and noticed that the mud that was on Golem rock had all disappeared. Also the stones had seemed to become a lot more smother, obviously it was hard to see through all this rain. Golem roared and started to spin towards Buizel with a lot more speed and without slipping of track. Joe suddenly knew what happened and started to smile, "Golem had used Stealth Rock, which increase the speed of Golem and in turn means that it can speed through the mud, I think that what it is"

Golem started to roll towards the ramp it made earlier, which was no covered in mud. As soon as Golem rolled towards the ramp it slightly slipped of course and hit the edge of the ramp. Instead of rolling up in the air it spun directly towards Buizel. The huge boulder Pokemon smashed Buizel hard and sent Biuzel skidding back in the mud. It slowly stood back up and started to clap both of its hands. Suddenly large white waves directed towards Golem, this was the move Sonic Boom which could mean problems for Golem.

The sonic waves where directed towards Golem's feet and started to knock Golem of its feet. Golem tried to roll back onto his feet but the mud was too slippery and Golem was like a fish out of water.

I wonder what Dermodio would do next

Dermodio looked worridly at A'splode. She was not faring well in all the mud. But there was nothing to do about it. Suddenly, another idea popped into Dermodio's head. "Use Magnitude to attack Buizel from where you are standing!" he called.

A'splode looked wearily back at Dermodio. She really did not like this at all. Dermodio looked sadly at her.

"After this, you can switch out for Poliwag. Just this last attack, OK? Then you can have a nice rest."

Golem obliged, then threw it's arms down to the gound and caused a terrible rumbling. The Rumble grew louder and quiter, then with a sudden burst of noise Golem caused the ground to shake.

Dermodio fell over while applauding Golem. "Good! Good!" he said, flicking his head to Buizel. What was it going to do?

 

Golem was rolling around on it's back trying to get up and attack Buizel but it had no chance. Buizel had different ideas and fired a powerful water gun towards the defenseless Golem.

She started to bounce up and down to create a shock wave along the floor. It produced 5 powerful waves which smacked Buizel and sent it crashing down to the muddy surface. The rain was still pouring down and made the surface even worse. Joe looked across and noticed that Buizel didn't have a lot of energy left

Dermodio called back Golem. "Good Job A'splode. You have earned a nice rest. Now Then!" Dermodio looked at Buizel. The Poor thing looked so beaten down, so hurt, so...deflated. Dermodio couldn't bare see anything like that, especially not a cute little Buizel. "Go, Pokeball!" Dermodio threw a Pokeball, which came up short, and skidded in the mud, up to Buizel's feet, where it stopped. The Pokeball opened, and Buizel was sucked inside. How many times would it shake? The chances were high, but still, 5 percent chance it wouldn't could still interfere.

Dermodio called back Golem. "Good Job A'splode. You have earned a nice rest. Now Then!" Joe looked across towards the tired little Buizel who just managed to stand up on its feet. The rain was still pouring down from the gray cloud above his head. Buizel looked like it was standing fine but then suddenly fell down to his knee.

Suddenly I hear a familiar voice from the distance, "Go, Pokeball!" Joe quickly turned and watched Dermodio throw the red and white ball towards Buizel. The ball skimmed across the slippy brown surface and landed at Buizel feet. The ball opened and Buizel was covered in a red beam and disappeared into the Pokeball.

The ball rolled once and twice and then suddenly stopped. Joe looked through the wet cold rain and hoped that it was a capture. Then a familiar sound reached Joe ears and he let out a smile. Joe slowly walked over to the Pokeball an picked it up and placed it in his bag.

"I am afraid I have to look after it, you can have it once we leave the Park" Joe said towards Dermodio who looked very happy, "So still looking for more water Pokemon, I think I have a great place for you"
