Joe smiled at Dermodio happiness to capturing the Buizel, at least he now has a new Pokemon to play with. Joe gave a sign to Dermodio to follow him as the continued to walk along the lake's edge. Joe looked into the cool calm lake and watched the small Finneon dive in and out of the water like a pack of dolphins.

Ahead of the was a small reservoir which connected both lakes together, it is said that some rare Pokemon could be found here. Joe swung his bag around to the front of his body and grabbed a small red and white ball. He opened the ball and out came a large white bird. The bird Pokemon gave a yawn after being awoken from a deep slumber.

"Here Togekiss, Let's see if we can see some neat Pokemon" Joe said as the began to walk around the reservoir edge.

Dermodio followed Joe, and looked into the water. The amount of water Pokemon here was fantastic. Dermodio walked to the edge, and plunged his head under water, scattering a shoal of Remoraid. He watched the Pokemon frolic. It was really quite amazing. Donovan felt warm inside.

Then it began to hurt. He realised he was out of air, so brought his head out from underneath the surface.

    Re: Individual RP: Dumble-Modio

OOC: Gmandiddy asked me to take over. He's kinda busy... ;) I've also re-rolled the remaining encounters.

    NBP #1 (in my case)

I smiled and jumped with glee as I put my phone down. My fellow ranger, Joe, had just called, informing me of a trainer he had been guiding in the Great Lakes. Turns out, my friend had to run off to another assignment, thus earning me the job.

To be honest, I was not one hundred percent happy I had gotten the job. Sure, it would be fun, but I was nervous. This trainer of his would be the first I would guide through the Park. I was not the official/original ranger actually, I was just a replacement.

The next moment, I heard a knock on my door. My secretary came in. I had only been here a few days, but she was a great friend to me already. Silently, she held out a brown envelope, presumably containing files about this trainer. She gave me a genuine smile of encouragement. I smiled back, trying to look determined and positive. She walked out without a sound, as usual.

"Alright, let's see who we have here," I said to no one in particular, reading the information. "Dermodio, huh? In the Great Lakes... Awesome!" This made me even happier, I just loved water types.

Quickly, I grabbed my brown shoulder bag, which contained some medical supplies, pokedolls, and some other stuff. I grabbed four Pokeballs, they contained Kipper, my Swampert; Nia the Staraptor; Bolt, my Elecitivire; and a Victreebel named Liana.

After double checking on each of the supplies in my bag, I dashed out of the door, eager to get to the Great Lakes. I knew there was a teleporter somewhere near the docks, but I did not exactly know where it was. That was why I brought Nia, I would ride on her back instead.

Before long, we were soaring through the skies. I kept an eye on the ground below, even if I was a tad bit afraid of heights. "Bring me down here." Obediently, my Staraptor swooped down, landing and stopping perfectly like an expert. I praised her, then recalled her to her Pokeball. I would not want to frighten any smaller, weaker water types here.

I scanned the zone. Everything looked fine, the ponds were filled with Pokemon, the grass was wet in some areas; dry in others; but mostly damp due to the ponds and lakes scattered about.

I tried to look for a trainer that matched the files' description: "A twelve year-old that is tall for his age. He is chubby and wears glasses." That's where it stopped. My eyes looked around again, and something caught my eye--and that something was quite hilarious and funny.

I walked over to a pond, where Remoraid were scattered about. Why? Well, there was a young teenager who had poked his head in, that's why. As I came nearer, he had brought his head out of the water, gasping for air.

"Ahem... Are you, by any chance, Dermodio?" I asked promptly, trying hard to stifle my laughter. "Because if you are, your former Ranger Joe has asked me to continue guiding you around the magnificent Great Lakes." I looked at him expectantly.

"Yeah, that's me." Dermodio said. "He left maybe 12 minutes ago, for an important mission. LOOK! I SAW KYOGRE HERE!!" Dermodio said excitedly. "It was in a lake, and it was soooooooo cool!! Wait, I'm being hyper again, am I right?"

Poliwag shook his head sadly, as if to say 'He's lost it.'

"Yeah, that's me," the teen answered. "He left maybe 12 minutes ago, for an important mission. LOOK! I SAW KYOGRE HERE!!" He suddenly shouted excitedly. "It was in a lake, and it was soooooooo cool!! Wait, I'm being hyper again, am I right?"

I actually thought he was quite hyper, meaning this would be some fun trip. I have no idea where he got the idea of telling me about a Kyogre, but I guess he was feeling a bit proud to have encountered the mythical Sea Basin legendary. I'm pretty sure I would have been very excited as well if I ever met an awesome Pokemon like Kyogre.

I looked at the blue, spherical tadpole next to him, one by the name of Pondy--according to the files Joe had given me. The little water Pokemon had large eyes, a pink mouth, and a long, mostly transparent tail. It had newly developed legs that did not looked like they were used to walking. The creature had a black and white swirl on its abdomen; the direction of the belly spiral differs by area, with the equator being thought to have an effect on this.

This little Tadpole Pokemon was a Poliwag, a happy-looking one at that. You would not always see trainers going for Poliwags, so I thought Dermodio was quite unique. Pondy looked at me, shaking his head sadly, as if to say, "My trainer had gone nuts. He's lost it."

"He he, I guess you are a little hyper..." I said slowly, not sure if it would hurt Dermodio's feelings. "I bet seeing Kyogre was a fun and cool experience, though! It is not everyday that you get to meet a legendary Pokemon. My name is Elisa, by the way. Elisa Fleming to be exact; aged seventeen." I decided on introducing myself a little bit as well, to break the ice a bit.

"So, I see we are pretty close to the river. Would you like to take that path over there, or continue on this one? Take the lead, if you wish," I continued, pointing at the river to our far left, some few miles from us. In any case, we could always walk back towards it, just in case my trainer wanted to check it out. The path we were currently on was full of little individual lakes and ponds, all filled with Pokemon.

Whichever path Dermodio chose, it would not exactly matter as we would eventually go through the other path as well. It was just a matter of choosing which he wanted to check out first.

I patiently waited for his answer as I pulled on a green-colored jacket. The atmosphere was getting colder slowly, as I had noticed.

Ranger Comments: I hope you don't mind me inserting a few NBPs between encounters here and there. You're most likely gonna need the extra MCR. Also, please be reminded that Non-Battle Posts should have around 500 or more characters. As a tip (I think this is your first time into the park), feel free to talk about the character himself, what he is feeling right now as his ranger just left, etc. You can also copy and/or rephrase what the ranger says, just for the heck of it. For now, I won't be too strict about the 500 character limit--this time...

"Mmm... I say we take the other path. To see what other kind of Pokemon there are! And also, pleased to meet you." Dermodio said to Elisa.

Poliwag looked around, and saw a Wingull high in the sky. He mimicked it's flapping wings till it disapeared into the Horizon. He tugged on Dermodio's leg, wanting to know if Dermodio had seen it. "Yeah, I did. I like Wingulls, and Pelipers too, but I'll take anything that comes my way. Right?" Poliwag nodded, and recomenced mimicking Wingull.

Dermodio looked at both paths, deep in thought. He seemed to have made up his mind in no time. I guess he wanted to check out the other path this time.

"Mmm... I say we take the other path. To see what other kind of Pokemon there are! And also, pleased to meet you." Dermodio said to me.

I nodded and started to take the lead. I began to walk towards the river, Dermodio and Pondy following. Every once in a while, I looked back to check on them.

The Poliwag was ever-so curious, looking around. He looked up and saw a Wingull high in the sky. Wingulls were small, white seagull-like Pokémon. They had long, orange, hooked beak is tipped with black. Their wings were notable for their long, thin shape, usually outstretched, and blue stripes. I grinned, the Tadpole Pokemon mimicked it's flapping wings 'till it disappeared into the horizon.

Pondy tugged on Dermodio's leg, wanting to know if Dermodio had seen it. "Yeah, I did. I like Wingulls, and Pelipers too, but I'll take anything that comes my way. Right?" Poliwag nodded, and mimicked the Wingull once more. I laughed at the water type's antics. He was a really jolly creature.

There was an assortment of Pokemon all around us. On the damp grass, we usually saw Lotad and their evolution line. The ponds housed different fish-like Pokemon, as well as a Milotic in one of the bigger ones. Common fish were Magikarps, Goldeens, and Finneons.

Before long, without any of us actually noticing it--I think, we had walked a few miles. The river was not very long, but was quite wide. I was amazed at all the creatures along the riverbank, as well as those going for a swim. The river pushed the smaller of them downstream, where there was moss, rocks, and soil, as I have heard.

I was about to suggest walking along the river's shore, but a pointed white spike caught my eye. The figure was moving upstream of the current, and it was moving rapidly. Gradually, as it reached us, the whole of the creature came into view. It looked at us, and seemed to be wanting a battle as it spotted the Poliwag.

The creature resembled a koi or goldfish. It was a big orange colored fish with white and black markings. It also had a small to medium sized horn on its head. Two big dark eyes, and pink lips with two small, sharp fangs made up the most of the Goldfish Pokemon's face. I suddenly remembered these were really strong and powerful Pokemon who swam against a river's current--even waterfalls! It also uses its powerful horn to bore holes in solid rock, so as to keep its eggs safe.

"So, would you like to battle that Seaking?" I asked as I turned to Dermodio and Pondy.

As Dermodio was watching Pondy, he himself had sptted something, and was panicking. "What is it?" Dermodio asked, concerned. Pondy started screeching the 'Jaws' theme song. Dermodio turned around, and faced the ugly face of a Seaking.

"So, would you like to battle that Seaking?" Elisa asked as she turned to Dermodio and Pondy.
"FUDGE YEAH SEAKING!!" Dermodio hooted, sending Pondy to battle.
Pondy hopped from one foot to the other, anticipating the battle ahead. "Careful for the horn!"

"FUDGE YEAH SEAKING!!" Dermodio hooted, jumping about. He was quite hyper at times, was he not?

I nodded approvingly as the trainer sent Pondy to battle. The Poliwag was a good choice, of course, as if he had any other choice left. His Golem, A'splode--whatever way you pronounce it, was weak to water and was already weak, so he would be no match for the Seaking.

I was excited, but, perhaps, not as hyper as Dermodio. Who wouldn't want a Seaking now, especially after seeing its strength? This was definitely going to be a fun battle. But, a water-type versus a water-type was not exactly the best choice, so this was going to be interesting--I just hoped Dermodio would be able to get his share of the park fully.

I laughed at Pondy's cheery antics. He was hoping from side to side; from one foot to the other as he was anticipating the battle ahead of him.

"Careful for the horn!" Dermodio suddenly warned, shouting. His piece of advice was correct, though, that horn of Seaking could be very dangerous, if not deadly--I have not heard of anyone dying because of that horn, so it was safe enough...

The Goldfish Pokemon was getting pumped. It gathered all its energy and power into its body. I suppose the Seaking had understood Dermodio's precautionary warning. It did exactly what I was afraid of--it was about to use its horn.

The Seaking's horn glowed white. The light shone brightly, getting more and more powerful every moment. Then, just as I thought the horn could not possibly get any brighter--yes, it was hurting my eyes, the water-type charged at Pondy at a slightly rapid speed.

Luckily, in the wild creature's case, the Poliwag wasn't very far from it. I knew that in a matter of moments--maybe even seconds--the horn would strike the Tadpole Pokemon. If Dermodio would not do anything, the poor Poliwag could be sent flying--depending on the impact, of course.

But, I knew the trainer would surely do something. What it was, I did not know. So, I waited to see what he would do.

The Seaking had used a blindingly bright horn attack. This could cause some damadge, especially since the Seaking looked so strong... Dermodio quickly thought of something. This Mon had gapingly huge eyes, but it seemed to blink a bit. Hypnosis could work, but the eyes were on the side and it was coming to fast to evade. So the best course of action would be to slow it down first...

"Pondy! Use Hydro Pump, and aim for the horn!" Dermodio said. Hopefully, this would stop the Coi from doing too much damadge, even perhaps stopping the attack completley. Or it could do the exact opposite.

Pondy hopped bacwards a few times, before running away, still facing the Seaking. He seemed quite worried that Seaking would flatten him, or worse, impale him. An orb of water appeared before Pondys mouth, before he glowed blue, and...

A jet of water blasted from Poliwag's mouth, indeed bigger than Pondy himself. The thing was, that with big stuff, it was harder to point where you were shooting. It could have missed in Pondys panic. Dermodio bit his fingernails, very worried.

I was amazed. Truly amazed. That Goldfish Pokemon was really strong.

"Pondy! Use Hydro Pump, and aim for the horn!" Dermodio ordered. With that command, and with the Seaking coming closer at a rapid spped, the Poliwag began hopping from side to side, back and forth. Then, the next instant, he was gone. And by gone, I mean dashing away.

Through the damp grass he ran, away from the opponent. I figured this was a way of stalling for a short amount of time as he prepared to fire the Hydro Pump. Now, what was amazing was how the Seaking still managed to chase Pondy, who was looking rather worried, even though Dermodio's Pokemon was a reasonable distance away from the river.

I could tell, however, the Goldfish had just about enough, for lack of better term, "jumping" stamina left to complete the Horn Attack. This had a positive and negative point, in Dermodio's case. Negative because Pondy could take some amount of damage; positive due to that fact that the Pokemon he might be able to catch was a strong specimen.
I decided to inform Dermodio of that, but my attention snapped back to the battle.

Suddenly, with the Seaking closing in, a glowing blue orb appeared before Pondy's mouth. The Poliwag's body was glowing slightly blue at this point in time, and the water ball was getting larger and larger. It grew to a size about as big as Pondy himself, as Poliwags are quite small, and this is a Hydro Pump we're talking about.

Releasing the orb, a jet blast of water shot out, heading directly towards the Seaking. I hoped Pondy had aimed for the horn well enough, I believe a streak that big would be quite hard to aim and control. Another factor was Pondy had been panicking, so it had a bigger chance of missing in his panic.

Luckily, the Hydro Pump was able to hit the Goldfish Pokemon, not exactly on the horn, but at least it had done some considerable damage. This, however, did not stop the Seaking. His body had lost its glow, and I could see the horn pretty clearly once more. It was still spinning slightly, and the glow was quite bright as well.

Even thought Dermodio hadn't commanded him to, Pondy instinctively jumped out of the way of the horn, just barely dodging it. Truth be told, the horn had managed to hurt the Poliwag, piercing into his tail. Fortunately, it hadn't been other parts of his body, only taking a small amount of damage.

With that, the Seaking flund himself back to to the river, swimming about... The wild Pokemon waited patiently for Pondy's next move. It seemed to be a pretty smart Pokemon, then again, it could be just from experience, or pure instinct. It gazed at its opponent bravely, staring him down. The Poliwag looked back at its trainer, awaiting further commands.

As the Seaking had pierced the tail slightly, Dermodio howled. "YOU WILL BE AVENGED, PONDY'S TAIL!!" Pondy Sweat-dropped.

"Jump to the side and try splashing some mud into it's face as you go, Pondy!" Dermodio ordered. Pondy hopped to the left, and splashed mud aimlessly, hoping to get some in the Seaking's bulging eye. Pondy nearly slipped, which would have given the Seaking an advantage.

After he had finished splashing mud, Pondy looked up at Dermodio, waiting for another command. "Water Gun his eye as best you can, and then use Hypnosis."

Pondy squirtred a steady stream of water into the big gooey eye of the Seaking, before unleashing a swirly whirly Hypnosis from the belly to his gigantic eye. Dermodio then realised after hitting the eye so much, it would likely blink and cause Hypnosis to fail.

"YOU WILL BE AVENGED, PONDY'S TAIL!!" Dermodio suddenly howled as he saw Pondy yelp in pain. His tail had been pierced slightly, alright. I jumped back, surprised. This kid was really full of surprises.

Seems as though Pondy knows him very well already--the Poliwag sweat-dropped. And that has got to account for something--Pokemon just don't sweat drop, not very frequently, in any case.

"Jump to the side and try splashing some mud into it's face as you go, Pondy!" Dermodio ordered once he had "calmed down". I watched as Pondy hopped to the left, and back to the right, then repeating, happily, as if he hadn't gotten damaged at all. The Poliwag was lucky the grass had mud and water; he was splashing mud around aimlessly, hoping to get some in the Seaking's bulging eye.

I decided not to mention to Dermodio Pondy's near slip, which would have given the Seaking an advantage, because the trainer had probably seen it anyway or it could have caused him to scowl--probably.

I suddenly realized Pondy had finished his mud-spraying, and that a blotch of mud, or two, had gotten stuck onto my shoe. I did not really care, I could easily wash them off later, and besides, this was part of my job as a ranger. Keep cool with whatever happens, as long as it is not too bad or devastating. Well, this was not overwhelming at all, it was just a little mess--no big deal.

I took a step back, giving them more room for battle. I wondered what had happened to the other shots of muck. I knew the answer just as I looked at the Goldfish Pokemon. The poor fish was covered in mud, however, it was not from head to toe--just the front part. I could see the dirt all over its horn and face. I do think the Poliwag was lucky to have aimed so well---though he was doing it aimlessly.

The one thing I was actually concerned about now was the ooze in the water. The sludge was quickly spreading, contaminating the river as a fast-growing and -spreading bacteria would in a sick human body. I gulped uneasily, my first ranger job and the great river was filled with wet dirt.

I was about to tell Dermodio about this, but he had given Pondy another command. I decided to wait for a short while... "Water Gun his eye as best as you can, and then use Hypnosis."

Just as Pondy heard Dermodio issue an attack, the Seaking was taking its revenge. Once more, it was using its horn. Pondy had need not worry too much about getting pierced again, though. I could tell the wild creature was preparing a different attack. Its horn glowed white as, faintly, I could see semi-white rings appearing around the spike on its head. Rings came one after the other rapidly, and soon, I could see them very clearly. The circles were slightly dark in color, perhaps due to the mud. Supersonic, as the attack is called, has a chance to cause the target to get very dizzy and confused. This was not good if it hit Pondy.

Luckily, Pondy was swift. The Supersonic rings, which were quite ear-piercing, mind you, traveled speedily through the air, but the Poliwag had already fired off another stream of water. This blast was weaker, but could still cause a reasonable amount of damage. Liquid and sound clashed together in mid-air, creating a loud of smoke. When the dust and dirt cleared, a few more rings were still headed towards Pondy.

The Seaking, seeing this, frowned angrily. It gathered energy and power for a stronger attack. The Poliwag, on the other hand, remembering Dermodio's orders, focused on delivering the Hypnosis attack. His eyes began glowing a bright shade of blue as his belly began to release hypnotic waves just like the Supersonic rings earlier. Pondy did not exactly aim, so the Hypnosis attack did not collide with the sonic circles as they made their way to the Poliwag. He tried to dodge but could not. Fortunately, he did not get the status ailment, Confusion, though he was a bit dazed and dizzy.

The Goldfish Pokemon had a blue orb of water at the ready. It was not using Hydro Pump, but rather Water Pulse. It raised its fins to surround the ball of liquid before pushing it roughly towards Pondy. The Seaking was still trying to confuse the Poliwag--Water Pulse has a slight chance of confusing the target as well as cause damage to it. Since it was too busy focusing on delivering the Water Pulse, the "sleep pills" had gotten to it. Before long, the foe's eyelids began to drop and droop. It would be asleep soon enough. The effect was not immediate due to the fact the wild Pokemon's eyes were quite filled with sludge form Pondy's earlier effort.

The orb of blue water traveled quickly, hitting the Poliwag almost directly. This power caused the water type to bounce backwards by about a meter. The grass blades seemed to have scratched the creature lightly. But, never fear, Pondy did not take any damage, really. You see, because of his ability Water Absorb, he heals himself--regains health--instead of taking damage. The Tadpole Pokemon stood up soon afterwards, ready to keep on battling.

The Seaking scowled at this point. Pondy was going to pay. He was going to have a taste of his own medicine. He was to deal with mud. Power rushed up to his throat as a blob of mud shot its way out. But that was not all. More were soon to follow... The wild Goldfish knew it had to fire off probably its last attack, one strong move before it could fall into a deep slumber.

I took another huge step back. No way was I going to get even dirtier. I gestured to Dermodio, signaling him to "Watch Out".

After the Water Pules and SuperSonic had hit Pondy, he seemed a bit dazed. And the Seaking seemed mad. "Erm..." Dermodio said, thinking what attack was safe in Pondy's mad dance that he had taken to when he was confused. "Maybe try to dodge the Mudshot?" Dermodio asked. Pondy flopped to the floor. "Pondy, try countering the Mudshot with MudBomb and then Use DoubleSlap if it comes closer?" Dermodio suggested.

Pondy nodded groggily, and stood up in the Mud. He created a big huge ball of Muck, and shot it at the incoming Mud Shot. Dermodio saw Pondy had made a bit of a mess on himself. He had also fallen on the ground again.

"Aw, are you not feeling well? Comere, my little Poli-Woli..." Dermodio said, walking towards Pondy, arms outstreched.

Pondy bit Dermodio on the nose.

OOC: Please bump up the post quality. You're barely halfway through. If the quality is good, you'd do way more damage to the Seaking. ;) You could retell how the move was performed just to bump it up slightly...

    BP#4

"Erm..." Dermodio said in an unsure and low voice. I figured he was probably thinking about attacks or moves he could use to counter the Mud Shot attack. Well, he had to decide now if he still wanted Pondy to actually avoid the attack.

Luckily, he had chosen something... "Maybe try to dodge the Mudshot?" Dermodio ordered, well, more of asked, really. I watched the Poliwag flop to the floor, he was certainly getting confused. I was not sure whether to consider him to be having the status ailment, Confusion, at this point in time. He wasn't exactly confused yet, just very dazed, so, no, Dermodio's beloved water type was not confused... Yet...

"Pondy, try countering the Mudshot with MudBomb and then use DoubleSlap if it comes closer?" Dermodio suggested with an inquiring tone again. With that, Pondy nodded groggily, trying his very best to stay balanced as he stood.

He walked forwards, stepping into some muck on the grass. I pitied the poor water type now, he seemed so... So... Hopeless...? And, other than that, Dermodio did not really have any other Pokemon to battle the Seaking. Sure, there was his female Golem, but at forty percent health, I do not think she would last that long either. Plus, he had one Parkball left. If he used that, he would not have any other items, thus, according to Park Rules, I would have to escort him out of the National Park--which, of course, I did not want to do as this was my first job, and it would have to end so quickly...

Gathering energy uneasily, Pondy was able to release a barrage of muck at the incoming balls of mud. Mud Bomb was just like Mud Shot, the only difference being the moves power, accuracy, as well as the number of orbs fired. Of course, Mud Bomb was a stronger attack, having more sludges being shot through the air. However, based on various research sites, Mud Shot had a higher accuracy rate. The number of muddy slush is never the same, but one can be certain Mud Bomb would always have equal to or more than Mud Shot.

I did not know how this would fare out, but I was pretty sure Pondy's attack would come through in the end. And, indeed, my prediction was correct. The numerous bombs clashed against those of Seaking. Dust, dirt, and muck flew everywhere, creating clouds of smoke in the previously clean and fresh atmosphere. I gulped worriedly, this was one muddy mess I did not want to clean up. I took two big steps backward cautiously, pulling Dermodio, by the arm, with me.

The sludges of mud cancelled out each other, except for a ball or two of the Poliwag's move. Speaking of Pondy, he had made a mess of himself doing this attack. Then, suddenly, he had flopped back down to the ground, after spinning dizzily.

"Aw, are you not feeling well? Comere, my little Poli-Woli..." Dermodio cooed, walking towards Pondy, arms out-streched. Unexpectedly and unpredictably, the Tadpole Pokemon bit his trainer's nose! The teen jumped back in shock and pain, why would his Pokemon do such a thing?! Was the Poliwag really that confused?! I shook my head, my first run as a ranger was so not going as planned.

I turned my attention back to the Seaking. The one blob of mud hit its back portion this time, so the Goldfish Pokemon looked very much like a... Well, a... Dirty fish, I suppose. Oh, I know! A fish that's been living for a very long time in dirty, mucky, murky waters. The Seaking growled indignantly, wanting to take its revenge... But, it could not! The wild creature had fallen asleep. Well, was that not lucky for Dermodio? The Seaking began floating atop the surface of the river's water, thanks to its swim bladder, which is also called "air bladder".

Suddenly, Pondy jumped up. He sprang at the Seaking, his tail glowing. The next instant, Pondy was forcefully slapping the opponent's whole body with the tail. He really aimed at the horn of the Seaking, the tail taking its revenge at the horn from the earlier Horn Attack.

The Pokemon must have remembered Dermodio's commands even with his dazed condition. But wait!... Dermodio only ordered for a DoubleSlap if the Seaking was coming closer and closer towards him. He must have snapped out of the confusion. However, he was dizzy once more... The Poliwag suddenly started slapping himself, inflicting damage!

"Umm... Dermodio, I think you should do something about Pondy..." I told the trainer slowly. I did not want to alarm him, but he had to do something quickly or else his Pokemon could be hurt very badly just because of semi-confusion.

"Umm... Dermodio, I think you should do something about Pondy..." the Ranger said. Dermodio rubbed his nose. "Maybe I'd LIKE you to stay confused, Pondy. You bit me." Pondy smacked himself. "Ok. Smack yourself if you are sorry." Pondy obeid, but probably not because of Dermodio's words. "OK. I forgive you. Return." he called to Pondy.

He thought of what he could use on the Fishy-Thing. He could dig a hole around it. But he didn't have a shovel. He could bite it. But Seaking would likely impale him.

Then a grin spread over his face. Not a nice grin. Or a sad grin. A NAUGHTY grin.

He picked up one of his occupied Pokeballs, and threw it high into the air over Seaking. "HNU-HAWH!" Dermodio cackled, watching the muddy-fish look up.

A'splode the Golem came out of the Pokeball, maybe twelve meters over Seaking. "HEAVY SLAAAAAAM!" Dermodio screeched. Golem turned silver, and straightened her arms and legs to look like a bullet. She zipped out of the sky, leaving a trail of chrome as she went, and then...

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM. An almighty splash ruptured the lake as A'splode made contact. She frantically tried swimming out, but sunk to the bottom, before using Rollout to get out.

"Good Job, A'splode. You musta done some heavy damadge to the Seaking. Probably." Dermodio said. A'splode sent him a look that said Fudge you. First you make me fight a little weasle, and then you make me go for a swim while I was napping in the Pokeball.

Dermodio rubbed his nose, the pain still there. Sarcastically, he said, "Maybe I'd LIKE you to stay confused, Pondy. You bit me." Pondy smacked himself in response.

"Okay... Smack yourself if you are sorry." Pondy "obeyed", sort of, but I do not think it was because of Dermodio's words. "Okay... I forgive you. Return." he called to the Poliwag.

A moment of silence. The trainer was probably thinking of what he could use against the Seaking. To my surprise, the Goldfish Pokemon was tranquil and quiet as well. It had no intention of attacking us while no enemy Pokemon was out here. What a weird nature...

I looked over at Dermodio. A grin had suddenly spread on his face. It was not a sad smile, a happy smile, nor was it an angry smile. It was a.. a--was it?--a naughty grin...? Yeah, it was a naughty grin. I gulped, hoping his plan was not too bad or devastating.

He reached over to his belt, grabbing the second Pokeball--it was not Pondy's. Dermodio threw the ball up in the air, in the direction of the Seaking. Was he trying to catch the wild creature already? The fish was not even that weakened yet... I watched the ball as it soared over the Goldfish's head--about ten to fifteen meters above it.

"HNU-HAWH!" Dermodio shouted with a contorted smile, causing the muddy-fish to wake and look up. I could not even place what the teen had said exactly, but it had definitely caught the attention of the Pokemon.

The Pokeball opened, and that's when I realized it already contained a Pokemon. I figured it was A'splode, and I was right. The Golem bursted out in white, glowing light. "HEAVY SLAAAAAAM!" Dermodio screeched right at the point wherein his Pokemon had emerged from her ball.

Golem turned white-ish silver as she straightened her arms and legs to obey Dermodio's order. She now looked like a speedy bullet, crashing from the heavens, passing through the skies, leaving a white trail of chrome, and then... BOOM! A crash. A'splode slammed straight into the confused, dirty, shocked, and stunned Seaking, dealing a considerable amount of damage.

An almighty splash erupted from the river, making the riverbed even more wet. Not only that, but also the Golem--dealing a small amount of damage. The Seaking was then cleaned slightly, but its face was still filled with muck. Fortunately, we, Dermodio and I, had not gotten wet. I watched as the Golem sunk in the river, but she managed to get out by using Rollout. A'splode was quite smart, do you not think so?

"Good job, A'splode! You musta done some heavy damadge to the Seaking. Probably." Dermodio praised his Pokemon. The creature just stared at him furiously. It was a look that seemed to say, "First you make me fight a small weasel, then you make me go for a swim while I was sleeping in my Pokeball!" A small weasel? I checked Dermodio's trainer file once more. I saw that he had battled and caught a Buizel...

My attention was back at the Seaking. It had suddenly woken up. It began splashing around, slapping its tail roughly against the surface of the water. Then, suddenly, it jumped up high, slamming back down. This caused a huge wave to emerge from the river. Heading towards us all... Afterwards, the Seaking had almost immediately fallen asleep again. Weird, but it had happened...

"Oh boy..." I mumbled. I looked at my trainer, wishing he would do something before I might have to step in. I turned my attention back to the wave and the wild creature. What was amazing was the fact that it was drowsy again. It seemed as though the mud forced it to shut its eyes, and Pondy's earlier Hypnosis still took its toll on the Pokemon. Dermodio was a lucky trainer, I was sure about that.

"EEK!" Dermodio screeched as the Waterfall came A'splodes way. "Flee from the Water! Flee!" A'splodes eyes widened, and she started running away, but the wave was coming up too fast. "ROLL AWAAAAAY!" Dermodio ordered, and the Golem transformed into a boulder which covered ground much quicker. Dermodio thought what to do. The tsunami Seaking had created was catching up.

Then another plan formed. "Hey, A'splode, try turning around and go throught the water, and hit the Seaking while it naps!"

    Golem did not obey.

"It'll get you sooner or later, and if you try getting through quickly it won't hurt as much!"

    Golem did not obey.

"DANG IT, A'SPLODE, NO COOKIES FOR YOU TODAY!!"

Golem obeyed. She turned quickly around, and sped towards Seaking, leaving a trail in it's wake. A few things got in the way; a rock, a puddle, a Slowpoke and a boot, and all wereknocked flying.

    Dermodio crossed his fingers.

A'splode turned around at the last moment, and fleed. Dermodio chased after her, raging. Dermodio sighed. "Better run from the battle then. A'splode won't battle, and Pond is going to bite me."

    OOC: Escape roll failed.. :(

    BP#6

"EEK!" Dermodio screeched as his eyes caught sight of the Waterfall heading our way. "Flee from the Waterfall! Flee!" I saw A'splode's eyes widen at the sight of the huge wave heading straight towards it.

I thought the Golem would roll away, by instinct, as it was faster and easier for her to escape that way, but she did not. Instead, since she was standing, she ran--she ran and ran as fast as her small legs could carry her. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see the water closing in real fast.

I was about to warn Dermodio of it, but I realized he ha seen it coming when he shouted. "ROLL AWAAAAAY!" he called out, A'splode immediately curled herself into a ball then began to roll rapidly on the damp grass. She was glowing white, as if using Defense Curl and Rollout at the same time. Unfortunately, she wasn't focused enough to raise her defenses.

I shook my head, the tsunami created by the Seaking was catching up rapidly. It would not be long before it would reach the Golem, unless Dermodio thought, and ordered, something else.

"Hey, A'splode, try turning around and go throught the water, and hit the Seaking while it naps!" the trainer suddenly commanded. After a few moments of thinking of his strategy, I finally realized what he wanted to do. If the Golem was to roll through the Waterfall's bottom part, and hit the Seaking in the process, it would be way better than tiring herself out by trying to escape the water. If she manages to do that, she'd get less damage, as well as inflict damage to the opponent; she might even break the flow of the wave. That was, by far, one of Dermodio's better strategies, in my opinion.

However, A'splode did not turn. She kept on running--I mean, rolling away. I wondered why his creature had not obeyed. According to my studies, Quirky Pokemon were original and unpredictable, but I did not suspect they would be this "unpredictable." I also knew these Pokemon usually did something odd, most of the time involving its surroundings; something a normal Pokemon would not do in battle. I was not sure whether this counted as odd, but I suppose it was quite fishy and suspicious.

"It'll get you sooner or later, and if you try getting through quickly it won't hurt as much!" Dermodio warned in an annoyed voice. He seemed quite angry now. And, yet, A'splode still did not follow his orders. I sighed, I pitied Dermodio and the Golem. Her nature certainly was surprising. I seemed to have heard Dermodio sigh as well as curse under his breath. It just wasn't his day, I suppose.

"DANG IT, A'SPLODE, NO COOKIES FOR YOU TODAY!!" Dermodio shouted in an irritated voice. He was furious now, no doubt about it. Yes, he just cursed at his Pokemon. Well, who wouldn't when your Pokemon did not obey orders? This time, luckily, the Golem obeyed. She quickly turned around, speeding rapidly at the tsunami. She left a trail of white energy in her wake, illuminating the grassy ground. Suddenly, a splash of water, a Slowpoke, and a boot were flying in the air, thanks to A'splode's Rollout. Now, where did that Slowpoke and boot come from?

I breathed a sigh of relief, the Golem finally obeyed.... Oh, no, scratch that last statement! Right at the last moment, A'splode spun around, fleeing once more. The next instant, Dermodio jumped with rage, sprinting after his naughty Pokemon furiously. I could clearly see the anger evident on his face as he gave chase. Fortunately, the Waterfall had lost its strength. It died down, creating a huge splash on the already damp grass. The ground was very wet now, and I was sure it was slippery. We had to be careful when walking.

I quickly ran after Dermodio and A'splode. After a few minutes, they both stopped... The Golem must have come to her senses, giving up rolling away. Dermodio sighed, telling me, "Better run from the battle then. A'splode won't battle, and Pondy is going to bite me." I nodded sadly. My first run, and I felt terribly sorry for the trainer...

We started to walk away, but then, the Seaking had woken up. It was angry--clearly outraged. It quickly gathered power stored up from its sleep, concentrating the energy into the horn. The horn started to glow brightly. It was not Horn Attack, though. It was something worse, and I could tell. The horn was not glowing white, unlike during Horn Attack, it was glowing green--green-ish yellow, to be precise.

"Watch out, Dermodio. This attack is Megahorn, it could cause some devastating damage," I warned my trainer as the Goldfish Pokemon headed towards us. We would be lucky if the attack would not hit due to the wild creature's lowered accuracy--but that was only if we were fortunate enough. My hand reached over to my pocket, just in case. If needed, I would release Kipper, my Swampert, to help out. He knew the move Protect, the shield would be able to protect us from the Megahorn if the teenager would not be able to do something in time.

Dermodio rubbed his chin. A'splode looked up at him. "Go golem lemma Gol. Pfft." she muttered. Dermodio picked through his bag, and found a Pokemon translator, given to him along time ago. It was on low battery. He could see that the Seaking had been singing the happy birthday song, and was probably a bit off in the head.

What A'splode had said was this: i rather be KO than this torture. Pfft.

Dermodio looked up, with an evil grin spread through his face. "Really?" Yeah.

Dermodio jumped into the reeds near the lake, and placed his hands on his head.

"EXPLOSION! DUCK FOR COVER!" WHAT?! "NOW!" After this is all over, it won't be Pondy biting you, you head breaking... A'splode started, before the battery died. "... Lema Gole. Golemagole."

A'splode closed her eyes, and concentrated.

Her eyes lit up, glowing bright amber. She roared, and spread her arms out wide. And then...

    She quite literally blew up.

The chunks of rocks that made up her body flew a few meters across, zipping into the air. There was a crater left where she had been standing, and her head. The bits of her body rolled back into the crater, and joined back together. She stayed on the ground, however, as she had been knocked out. The Seaking, who had been using Megahorn, was a bit away, though Dermodio knew not if it had dodged or had been sucumbed by the almighty blast of
    PURE AWESOMENESS.
