    To my surprise, Sammy wasn't interested. She told me that she didn't really want to battle the Delcatty, so I shrugged and led her through the field. Unfortunately for her, the Delcatty decided to follow us. It meowed happily and trotted along after us, stopping only occasionally to sniff at some flowers. The Normal-type butted her head affectionately against Sammy's legs and curled around her feet, impeding her movement.

    "Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the Delcatty wants you to leave," I said to Sammy. "Are you sure you don't want to battle it? They're really quite rare, and even if you don't want to keep it I'm sure you could find someone to trade it to. Otherwise, I can give you a PokeDoll to distract it with, but they cost five hundred dollars. Have you got that much on you?"

    The Delcatty looked up at me with questioning eyes, but I avoided looking at it. This was entirely Sammy's decision to make.

    We walked down the field, I was hoping that the cream and purple cat would not be following us. I was wrong, as the Delcatty slaked behind us. It smelled a few flowers and kept on trotting after us. It must have been a Pokemon that Liked to stop and smell the roses. I remembered when I was little and I tried to smell some roses. I ended up smelling a Roselia, and got a few thorns for my efforts. I did end up falling on it, which may explain why it was so angry at me. I was pulled out of my memory when I was pushed from behind. I almost stumbled, but caught myself.

    I turned to see what had pushed me, and found that the Delcatty was rubbing up against my legs in affection. It seemed to like me, which made us feeing a bit difficult. It finally decided on a nice spot to lay down, which just so happened to be my feet. I tried to shuffle out of the cats curl, but she seemed to be happy with where she was.

    "Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the Delcatty wants you to leave," Chainy spoke up "Are you sure you don't want to battle it? They're really quite rare, and even if you don't want to keep it I'm sure you could find someone to trade it to. Otherwise, I can give you a PokeDoll to distract it with, but they cost five hundred dollars. Have you got that much on you?"

    I bit my lip; maybe I should catch the Cat like Pokemon. It was rare, and he had mentioned it’s ability, what was it? Oh right, Normalize. I had to think of a few seconds to remember what that did. It made all moves that were used by the Pokemon that had said ability. While the Pokemon would no longer be able to use the moves to score super effective hits on foes, since normal was not supper effective against anything, and the Pokemon would not be able to harm ghost types. It would be able to get same attack type bonus, which would boost the power of the moves. I realized why I had forgotten about it, because only two Pokemon had this ability, Delcatty and Skitty. So they could get that bonus with any move they used. I wondered what cat would do if faced with a ghost type. It may have the other ability that Delcatty’s could have, cute charm.

    “Of course I have enough,” I told Chainy “But I think I may try to catch it instead,”

    I reached in my bag, and pulled out a red and white Pokeball, The one that contained the only Pokemon that I had not fought with, Scraggy. Before I let him out, I jumped away from the Cat, and ran a few feet away. I didn’t want to be in the middle of a battle with these two. I heisted for a moment, thinking that Galvantula may be a better choice, seeing that it could paralyze, and do a good amount of damage, but Delcatty could use heal bell, which would be bad news if we wanted that Status ailment to stick. Scraggy would also have fighting type moves, which would do double damage to the cream cat. He was the only one of my Pokemon that wasn’t evolved, so he would be weaker then the others.

    I felt a little bad about having to fight the Delcatty; after all it had been very nice to me, and seemed like a nice Pokemon. I tossed the red and while ball into the air, and caught it in my hand as it fell. The small yellow lizard like Pokemon appeared out of its ball, He stretched and looked around. He than sat down and started eating some of the flowers.

    “No!” I yelled at him “You can eat later! Right now I need for you to attack that Pokemon!” I turned to face Chainy, my face a little read “I’m sorry, he’s still young, he won’t do it again, Right Scraggy?” He wasn’t playing attention to me, and was walking towards the Delcatty. He stopped, pulled up his “pants”, and looked at me. He nodded. I wasn’t sure if that was to not eating the flowers anymore, or waiting for some orders. He had issues with not listing to me when it came to things like getting into fights, or eating all the cookies before the other Pokemon could. In battle however, he did what ever he was told. I wish that trait would care over to other activities, that way I wouldn’t have to make so many cookies.

    “Okay!” I yelled to him, “Use Leer, and then Brick Break!” I took a breath. “Sorry about this!” That was aimed at the Delcatty. She seemed like a nice Pokemon.

    Scraggy looked at the Cream and purple Pokemon, and made the meanest face he could. Being honest, it really wasn’t all that scary. But the attack still worked, in most cases. There was this one time with a Mudkip that just would not be scared or intimidated or what ever leer did. I wasn’t questioning it. Leer would lower the defense of the Pokemon that it was used on, since Scraggy had physical moves, it was good for him. Scraggly was a few feet from the Delcatty when he leered. He ran towards the Delcatty, his hands glowing. Brick Break could remove things like the effects of reflect and light screen. I wasn’t sure if Delcatty had the moves to make those effects, but it would do decent damage. Hi Jump Kick would do more, but it had a chance of missing and hurting Scraggly. His hands seemed to glow brighter as he got closer to the Purple and Cream cat, and he raised them to attack.

    OOC: @Joltik; Delcatty gender?

    ~~~~~
    “Of course I have enough,” Sammy replied quickly. “But I think I may try to catch it instead.”
    She pulled out a PokeBall and stepped away from the Delcatty. She then threw the ball into the air and white light erupted out of the device. When it landed back in Sammy's hand, a Scraggy was standing in front of her. The small Fighting-type was eying some of the nearby flowers curiously. He sat down next to some and started chewing them up, pulling them out by the roots to do so.
    “No, you can eat later! Right now I need for you to attack that Pokemon!” Sammy exclaimed. She turned to me and hastily apologised. "I’m sorry, he’s still young. He won’t do it again, right Scraggy?”
    I laughed. "It's fine, the Park is here for everyone's enjoyment, and if Scraggy feels like eating a few flowers that's okay with me." I didn't add that the groundkeepers might get grumpy and come after me if Scraggy decided to chow down on a few whole flowerbeds. That seemed like the kind of information that Sammy didn't need to know.
    Thankfully, Scraggy had noticed the Delcatty. He swallowed his impromptu meal and wandered over for a closer look. The Delcatty was curious too, but the Wild Pokemon was careful enough to keep its distance.
    “Okay, use Leer, and then Brick Break!” Sammy called to Scraggy. She then apologised to the Delcatty. I smiled again - there was no need for her to apologise. If the Delcatty didn't want to battle, it wouldn't have approached us in the first place. It was much more likely that the Delcatty had been intrigued by Sammy and had tagged along because it felt a connection. Still, most Pokemon liked to test prospective Trainers with a battle before joining up with them.
    Scraggy shifted around his makeshift pants and started staring daggers at the Delcatty. Despite being an unevolved Pokemon, Scraggy's appearance and demeanor must have been enough to scare the Delcatty, because it took a couple of steps back. This retreat was exactly what Scraggy was hoping for. It darted forwards and readied a strike, and I could see that the Scraggy had that inbuilt sense of timing that all Fighting-type Pokemon had. Their attacks were almost nothing but brute force, so they relied on excellent timing and high speed to keep up with all the other Pokemon, the ones that breathed fire and summoned thunderstorms and etc.
    Scraggy's little hand came chopping down onto the Delcatty's side, and the cat was knocked backwards by the force of his strike. The Wild Pokemon meowed in pain, but already had a counter-attack in mind - small electrical sparks began to flicker around her skin, and she began to fire them at the Scraggy in a long beam. Scraggy grunted and backed up a little bit, but I knew this attack wasn't designed to cause pain. It was Charge Beam, a good opening move because it usually raised the user's stamina reserve. It looked like I was going to get to see at least one more interesting battle today.
    OOC: Female, please.
    Scraggy managed to scare the cream cat; he lunged in and hit it with the chop. Bight yellow sparks started appearing on its fur, and it unleashed a harsh beam of energy. The move didn’t look like it hurt Scraggly to much, which was good on the other had, it looked like the Delcatty was a little stronger. The move was Charge Beam, now that I think about it. The move had a very high chance of raising the user’s special attack. I remembered it because it was one of four moves that Tynamo could get level up, and it couldn’t learn any other moves, or be taught hem with technical machines or hidden machines. It could not have any moves with breading either, but they could be taught magnet rise, which seemed kinda redundant. It was floating most of the time anyway. I wondered how Delcatty made the electricity, was it using energy that it had stored up in its body like other Pokemon that had more “Flashy” types? Or was it made from rubbing its fur together to make static electricity, and would focus it into a beam. Maybe If I caught it, I would be able to know how. Delcatty could learn a lot of moves, like most normal types could. I hoped it did not use blizzard or something that would hurt Scraggly too much.
    I wasn’t sure of the purple and cream cat’s ability yet. It could have three, Wonder Skin, Cute Charm, or Normalize. I doubted that it was Wonder Skin, that ability would make it much hard to hit with moves like leer, or any other move that had the chance of “Added effects” Like rock smash. Since leer had it, I’ll bet that it didn’t have that ability. It could have Cute Charm or Normalize. Cute Charm had a low chance of making my Pokemon or my male Pokemon in this case, to fall in love with the foe, which would make it a lot harder for me to eat an attack in. After all, who wants to fight their love? Well, it could be “Cured” by retuning the lovesick Pokemon into their ball. I hopped that we could just avoid all the drama that could come with battle love. Maybe the ability was Normalize; it seemed to be the most likely ability, it would give Delcatty power same type attack bonuses, which would, do more damage. The Pokemon may be helpless against a ghost type, or a steal type, but it would be able to hit other types hard, or as hard as Delcatty could. It was a trade off, Get the type bonus, or be able to hit other types for more damage.
    I still need to attack it though; Scraggly looked at me again, waiting for my order.
    “Okay,” I said, think about my choices. I could have him use a dark type attack, which may catch the Cat like pokemon off guard, but dark type’s were not know for their power, and Scraggly didn’t even have the strongest dark type move. No his power laid in fighting type moves, like Hi jump kick and focus punch. Both of those moves had draw backs, hi jump kick had a chance of missing, and if it did miss, it would hurt a lot, like half of his power could be lost. It would be bad. Focus punch was even worst, it would take some time to charge up, and if it was attacked he would lose his focus, and would not be able to attack. I don’t think that the Delcatty would just let Scraggly get a powerful attack like that in. He also had Head Smash, but that was a rock type move, so no same type attack bonus for it. It also was not super good when attacking normal types either. It also has recoil damage, like Brave Bird. I would like to avoid that.
    I decide to take a chance.
    “Scraggly, use Scary Face,” I yelled”Then High Jump Kick!” Scary face was a move that would lower the targets speed harshly. I would have liked a move that could paralyze, like Glare or Thunder Wave. I would just have to settle with glare. Maybe I could bring out Galvantula and have him use thunder wave. But I would have to switch Scraggly out, and then have Galvantula use one move, and then switch back to Scraggly. I could use Galvantula for a little bit, but for now, I wanted to use Scraggly, it was good fighting training for him too.
    Scraggly Ran over to the Cream cat like Pokemon, and looked at it, trying to making eye contact, he was glaring, bared his teeth. He was making weird growling noises, and for good effort, he stuck his out, and made more weird noises before pulling it back in to his mouth. Started giggling and Scraggly glared at me.
    “Sorry,” I said as I lifted my hand to cover my giggling. I tried to put on my best serous face.” Please carry on.”
    Scraggly looked at Delcatty again, and started running at her. He was running over some flowers too. I sighed, I really didn’t want for him to make a mess. He made enough mess at home, and I wondered if he would eat the flowers that were trampled. At least there weren’t any trees near the area that the Pokemon were fighting it, He would find a way to knock down the tree, even with is small size. I have once seen him make my mom’s bookcase fall down and we spent the rest of that day picking up and ordering books. It was not fun. He tried to eat the books too. Scraggy was getting closer to the Delcatty, and he jumped high into the air, his feet almost glowing as he came down.
    OOC: @Joltik;
    ~~~~~

    Sammy narrowed her eyes in thought as she took some time to consider her next move. It didn't take her long, although it might have seemed long to her. Whenever I battled, time seemed to slow down for me to consider my options.

    “Scraggy, use Scary Face then High Jump Kick!" Sammy called out.

    The small Fighting-type pulled its pants up around its waist and started staring daggers at its opponent. I thought it looked fairly intimidating, and the Delcatty looked like it would have agreed. The growls and motions with his tongue made it even more terrifying. Sammy, however, exploded into a giggling fit. Scraggy shot her a loaded look. Sammy was quick to apologise though, and after an angry snort, her Pokemon started running towards the Delcatty.

    The Normal-type had been cowed by the Scary Face, but her nerve hadn't been broken completely. She spat a cloud of purple poison into the air and Scraggy was running too fast to avoid it. He blasted through the cloud and extended one of his legs. The Hi Jump Kick hit the Delcatty like a freight train - the cat was knocked into the air and it hit the ground with a hard thump. The Delcatty slowly got to her feet and threw a sad look at Scraggy. She made a hopeless little meowing sound and Scraggy suddenly gulped. I could see tears in the little Fighting-type's eyes. What could possibly be going on?

    It took me a couple of seconds to realise that Delcatty's Cute Charm Ability must have activated. Now Scraggy was infatuated with his opponent, which of course made it very hard for him to battle. Furthermore, he had been poisoned by the Delcatty's technique. How would Sammy overcome this?

    Scraggy ran towards the normal type, and (thankfully) Hi the Pokemon right in the side. I was a little worried thought, as it had to run though a cloud of slickly looking purple gas. I soon noticed that some of the gas had been inhaled by my fighting and dark type. I cringed, that toxic, a move that would do more damage each turn the Pokemon was poisoned, which was of course bad. I had already used up my lava cookie. One of Scraggy’s abilities was Shed Skin, which could heal the user of any status problems. It seemed like a good idea, to have Moxie as the ability, Scraggly would be given an attack boost if he could beat a foe. In retrospect, since I wasn’t really defecting Pokemon, more catching them or running from them, except for that Roselia at the start of this run. Heck, since we were really only fighting one Pokemon at a time, and the boost would be lost between fights.

    Wait. Something else was wrong! Scraggy seemed to be rather impressed with the Delcatty, and seemed to have little hearts in his eyes. I gulped as I realized that Scraggly was in love with the cat. This was something that Delcatty was known for, being able to us its charms to make enemies stop attacking and allow from Delcatty to get a few good hits in. Even with Delcatty attacking my Pokemon he would stay in love with her, and he would only attack fifty percent of the time, which, of course, was bad. I don’t think that Shed Skin would help us in this case. That was almost as bad as confusion, but at least confusion would wear off after a while. Switching out the lovesick Pokemon would cure it. I guess I would do that. Seemed like the best option anyway.

    “Scraggy,” I yelled to the lizard like Pokemon.” Come back!” I held up the Pokeball that he was usually kept in, and a red light shot out of it, connected with the dark type, and pulled him back in the ball. I reached into my bag, and pulled out another Pokeball, this on containing my trusty Galvantula. He was like the star of this run, and was still in good enough condition to fight. I was worried about that cute charm, but as long as we stuck to special move, we should be good. Staravia was the only female Pokemon I had brought with me, and she was still rather weak. I really should have brought that Pokedoll instead of fighting that thing. Oh well. What’s done is done, and I have a Delcatty to catch!

    I tossed the ball into the air, and catch it as it comes back down. It had opened in mid air, and a bright red light came out, to forum the familiar shape of my Galvantula. He moved the little pinchers/ feelers things in front of his face, looking a little annoyed. I guess he wanted a longer nap.

    “Sorry,” I said “But we have another Pokemon to catch!” I tried to put as much power as I could into those words. If Galvantula was in a good mood, he would fight better. I read about that in a magazine, and they had done test and studies or something on it, or something. Well, Galvantula was always ready to fight, no matter was crazy time it was. There was a fun story about that, but this really wasn’t the time for that.

    “Okay!” I yelled again, I was in a shoutly mood today. “Hit it with a thunder wave attack and then a Bug Buzz attack!” Simple plan, paralyze and do damage, both would make this normal cat a better target for catching. “Also try to avoid Physical contact with it, or you may fall in love!” I said that like it was a bad thing, which it was. But Galvantula looked at me lick I was crazy. He didn’t see the battle, so I guess he didn’t know was I was talking about. He was used to my shenanigans, so this wasn’t the biggest deal to him. He started charging up his feelers, and a light blue glow had covered them. It was a short charge, since Thunder Wave was a move that paralyzed, not meant to do damage. He launched the blue glow, which had now taken the forum of a little blue spark towards the Normal type cat that was Delcatty.

    He moved to the side, and started rubbing all of his little furs together. The rubbing made a loud noise, which would hurt any pokemon around it. It was not a fun noise for humans either, but it was more of an annoying sound then a hurtful one. It was one of the strongest bug type moves, and it was the strongest move that Galvantula had on him. Thunder was a stronger move, and Galvantula could make good use of it despite the move’s low chance of hitting. But he could only us that move if he was given a technical machine, which I was yet to do. I added that to my list of thing to do once I was done here. The only bug type move that was stronger then Bug buzz was Mega Horn, which Galvantula could not learn, due to obvious lack of a horn. There was also attack order, which did the same amount of damage as Bug Buzz, but only one pokemon could use that move, and its name wasn’t Galvantula. It was Vespiquen I was kinda hoping to find its pre evolution here, Combee, because I though that it was a cool Pokemon. Only Female Combee could become Vespiquen, so if you found a male you were kind screwed over.

    OOC: @Joltik; I am so so sorry I forgot this ;-; you need to poke me with a sharp stick if I take longer than a week, for srs.

    ~~~~~
    Rather wisely, Sammy decided to return her Scraggy to its PokeBall. Quite often in professional-league battles a Trainer would attempt to fight on despite multiple status conditions, and this cost them the match. Four times out of five the correct response to being poisoned or confused or encored was to return the Pokemon so it could have a quick rest.
    In lieu of Scraggy, Sammy sent out her Galvantula. The little Bug-type didn't seem very happy with this decision and I got the distinct impression that he wasn't against letting his Trainer know this.
    “Sorry, but we have another Pokemon to catch!” Sammy exclaimed, apparently trying to excite her Pokemon. From what I saw, it didn't really work - Galvantula seemed rather resigned as it turned around to face the Delcatty.
    “Hit it with a thunder wave attack and then a Bug Buzz attack!” Sammy shouted. “Also try to avoid Physical contact with it, or you may fall in love!”
    I couldn't help but smile and shake my head slightly. The inflections in Sammy's voice told me that she didn't think much of love, but it could be alright sometimes. Sometimes.
    A soft blue light began emanating from Galvantula's head, and it fired waves of electrical energy towards the Normal-type. It then started rubbing its feelers together, and sound waves followed the electric ones. They didn't hurt me too much but Bug Buzz was very directional. The Delcatty would be copping much more of the attack than I was.
    Somewhat surprisingly, the Delcatty decided that the best way to deal with this development was to go on the attack. The Pokemon started to run forwards, charging headlong into both the Thunder Wave and the Bug Buzz. Her legs started to spasm and she collapsed, but the Pokemon maintained enough momentum to crash into the Galvantula. The Wild Pokemon then opened her mouth and an Icy Wind gushed out. The cold blue air rushed around the Bug-type, creating icicles wherever it went. Galvantula managed to stagger away, but those ice formations were definitely hindering its movement.
    The Thunder Wave hit it’s mark, while it didn’t cause any damage it did do the job of slowing the Cat like Pokemon down, and may even make it unable to move for a little bit. I wound just have hope that it didn’t use Heal bell or any other move that could remove that status I had given it. I could guess that the Pokémon’s ability was cute charm, so I should still try to have Galvantula avoid hitting the normal type head on or anything like that. It could have had Wonder skin which would have make the chances of any status moves hitting a lot harder, and that included Galvantula’s nice little wave of thunder. It didn’t matter much now, but it could have caused problems. Not like cute charm didn’t. The bug buzz attack also hit the Pokemon, and I looked over to see how Chainy was doing. He seemed to be fairing well enough. He may have gotten used to hearing or feeling the side effects of being around Pokemon while they were attacking.
    The Delcatty wasn’t stopped by the attack however, and started running right at Galvantula. This Delcatty seemed to be a very determined Pokemon, or just stubborn. It had decided to use a very thick headed attack, Headbutt. The Cat ran towards Galvantula, her head glowing. Thankfully Galvantula had already attacked so if the guy wasn’t able to move after the attack, it would not be a huge waste. The Pokemon jumped at Galvantula, and hit my poor bug head on. He shook a little and was pushed back a little, but was still standing, or what ever it is that Galvantulas do. The Normal Type wasn’t done yes, as she opened her mouth and a cold icy breath came out. The attack seemed to be cold and had little snowflakes dancing around in the white haze. The wind hit, or more like flowed around Galvantula. Small Ice formations had begun to well, form, on Galvantula’s body, mainly his legs and feelers. I could tell that he didn’t like the feeling one bit. He was a bug type, and like most other bug types, he was weak to Ice type moves. Delcatty must have been having fun showing off her large pool of moves. Galvantula was now moving slower then he was before and I could tell that the secondary effect of Icy wind had taken place, which was slowing Galvantula down. That could be an issue, if he wasn’t able to move fast enough, he may not be able to avoid attacks and what not. Sadly there were not trees in the area that the battle was being held in, and flowers did not make a good cover for Galvantula.
    Galvantula had backed away from the cat and seemed to be waiting for me to give some orders, or attacks, or something. He was still shaking a little form the ice that hung off of him. I made a metal note to give Galvantula a nice warm bath when we went home. Giving a bath to a Galvantula wasn’t a fun task, but he would thank me later, or forget about it, which ever came first. Anyway, that ice need to be removed, or Galvantula need to speed up!
    “Okay Galvy!” I yelled to Galvantula, “Use Agility that should get the ice off of you!” I paused for a second, Delcatty was rather weak at this point and I did not want to faint it after deciding to try to catch it. Galvantula was also getting tried, while he wasn’t as weak as the cat like Pokemon, he must be getting tried after fighting so much here. The guy had fought the Lillipup, Cottonee and now Delcatty. The only fight that he wasn’t in was the fight with the Roselia, and that had left Staravia rather weak. Maybe if I had used a different move, instead of one that did a lot of recoil damage, she would not be so tired. She may have been as good as Galvantula at weakling and making Pokemon easier to catch, but she could be useful. It was too bad that Galvantula could not learn False Swipe that would be a great move to use in this situation.
    “And after you use that, use Electroweb!” I added. It was a special move that did a little damage, along with lowering the targets speed. Galvantula got on my orders, and started running. It was a little slow at first; his moves were jerky as the ice slowed him down. He started going faster and faster and moved in a zigzag motion, trying to avoid getting hit by any moves that the normal type would throw at him or hit him with. Next the bug type started weaving a small ball of web in between his feelers, and started running yellow electric energy through it, making it different from a regular web. After a few seconds he jumped a few feet up into the air, and launched the ball at the Normal type Pokemon. The ball opened into Web with the yellow energy pulsing through it. The attack keep on getting larger as it flew towards the Pokemon. I would have told Galvantula to jump back after the attack was launched, but I knew that Galvantula would know to jump back. The opening for attack in Galvantula , was when he had just landed from his jump, it took him a few seconds to jump back from anything the Delcatty would try. I reminded my self that I did bring other items into the park, and that they could help if Galvantula need them. I didn’t think that he would. He was a good Pokemon after all.
    Galvantula backed off rather stiffly and tried moving his legs around, but even at a distance I could see that the formations were severely hindering his movement.
    It was almost as if Sammy could read my mind. “Okay Galvy, use Agility - that should get the ice off of you!” she called out. I nodded, impressed by her move choice. The speed increase would more than offset any temporary affliction caused by Icy Wind.
    “And after you use that, use Electroweb!” she finished, almost as an afterthought. Galvantula buzzed in response, and started raising his agility by running around in circles and figure eights. His legs were stiff and his movements were jerky in the beginning, but the icicles started to crack and fall off, and by the end they were almost completely gone. The Delcatty started to meow plaintively, as if to complain that the Electric-type was ruining all her hard work, but she fell over on her side and shook a little bit - clearly the Thunder Wave paralysis was starting to be a little too much for her.
    Galvantula's pincers started to glow bright yellow, and some liquid electricity dripped out. The spider's front pincers started making a small web and he threw it towards the Delcatty. The net expanded until it covered the Wild Pokemon entirely and latched it to the ground. The cat started meowing in distress. I felt kind of sorry for it, until I realised that there was a rhythm to the noises. Suddenly, I was kind of drowsy, and Galvantula fell to the ground, fast asleep.
    I nodded as the icicles fell of Galvantula’s legs. He wasn’t the kind of Pokemon that would enjoy being slow, or being cold. He really disliked being cold. Sometimes if it was too cold, he would refuse to leave is Pokeball, and would go strangely close to the fire that we would sometimes build. He also never played in the snow so we had to make our snowmen/Pokemon without him. He looked relived that the chilly ice was off of him. Next he fired the Electroweb, which also hit. The Delcatty seemed to be getting tired, or at least the paralysis was getting to her.
    The Delcatty opened her mouth, and sent out a haunting, yet beautiful song. It made me want to take a nap, and I could tell from the look on Galvantula’s face that he was feeling sleepy too. I realized that the Normal type was using the move sing. It was a move that could put any Pokemon, and sometimes people that heard it into a deep sleep. The moved did have a high chance missing, and I had always wondered why that was. Did the singing just go right over the targets head? Or would the target be able to cover their ears or something to keep from hearing the noise? I knew that there was an ability called soundproof that would keep noise based moves from hurting the Pokemon that had that ability. Sadly, Galvantula did not have that ability at his disposal so it didn’t help us here.
    I watched as Galvantula fell asleep and I started to feel sleepier. A powerful singer could put humans and Pokemon asleep, but Delcatty didn’t seem to have that kind of Power, so I would just feel sleepy. I looked down at Galvantula, who was now snoring. (And I wasn’t talking about the move Snore, just the noise that that some things make while sleeping). I didn’t have anything that I could use to wake him up, I had already used my cookie, and I mead a metal note to bye more the next time I planed to come to the park. I thought about what I could do here, I could switch Him out, but Scraggly was not doing so well and Staravia was still weak from the past fight. Galvantula could still take a few hits from the normal type pokemon, but it could take a while. I still had a healing item, so I could use that once he woke up.
    The Delcatty had been weakened, and was rather slow, partly because of the web that had covered it, partly because of the paralysis. The cat like Pokemon had also been tried by fighting both Scraggly (who had a type advantage over her) And Galvantula (Who could give her nasty status ailments). This looked like a good time to try and catch the normal type. Delcatty was a Pokemon that was considered a second level, so a normal Park ball would not be able to catch this cat. I would have to use my Superball or Hyperball to catch the normal type Pokemon, and I only had two of those, I wished that we could have ran into Skitty, That pokemon would have been much more easier to fight and catch, and I could have used one of the many Parkballs to catch it. I would have to buy more Superballs and Hyperballs next time I came to the park. I should by more of everything the next time I come to the park.
    I wished that there was a way to wake up Galvantula, but he was sound asleep, and I doubted that he would wake up early. There were a few abilities that would let a pokemon wake up early, and some that would keep the Pokemon from falling asleep in battle at all. Sadly, Galvantula didn’t have either, so I could not get him to wake up faster. I pulled out my bag and started going through it. I found the balls that held Staravia and Scraggly, but I ignored them and keep on going. It would be better to try to catch the cat like Pokemon at this point, and I didn’t want to make it too weak. Maybe, if I wasn’t able to catch the normal type, then I could send one of my other Pokemon to weaken it more, but I wanted to see if I could catch it first. I finally found the two balls that would work on Delcatty. I pulled out the Superball. Both would work, but I felt like the Superball would be a better choice to start with. I tossed the ball towards the Cat like Pokemon.
    Sammy certainly didn't seem happy to see her Galvantula put to sleep, and I could understand why. Her Scraggy was still poisoned and apparently her Staravia wasn't fit to battle. This was when she had to make a hard choice - should she leave her Pokemon in the battle or retreat it for a weaker one? Usually, the correct answer was to retreat the sleeping Pokemon, but Sammy decided to fly in the face of conventional wisdom. She rifled through her pockets, no doubt looking for a healing item, but nothing was found. Perhaps she was under-prepared? It happened more often than visiting Trainers would like to admit.
    Still, she decided not to return her Pokemon. She pulled out a Super Ball and sent it spinning towards the Delcatty. Usually, unopposed Pokemon would attempt to dodge a ball, but the Delcatty's paralysis played up and the capture device found its mark. The Wild Pokemon was converted into red plasma and sucked into the ball like dust into a vacuum cleaner.
    The ball hit the ground with a barely-audible thud and started to shake. The first and second spasm was expected. The third one seemed a little delayed though, and I started to worry that the Delcatty would be able to escape. It had looked relatively healthy, bar the paralysis...
    My worries were for naught. The light blinked red, indicating a successful capture. I exhaled in relief and walked over to pick the ball up. Once it was stowed away safely in the netted side pocket of my bag, I turned to talk to Sammy.
    "Well done. Do you want to move on now, or wait for Galvantula to wake up?"
    The ball hit the Delcatty, and it was sucked into the ball as a red beam of light. I watched as the ball shock a few times. The ball stopped wiggling, and Chainy walked over to pick it up. I was glad that I had been able to catch the cat like Pokemon; I was worried that I could have run out of balls.
    "Well done. Do you want to move on now, or wait for Galvantula to wake up?" Chainy said after he picked up the ball. I looked down at Galvantula, he was still fast asleep. I kneeled down next to him and stared scratching his head.
    “I think it would be best if we waited for him to wake up,” I said looking at my Pokemon. ”So let’s wait,”
    “I think it would be best if we waited for him to wake up, so let’s wait,” Sammy said.
    "Sounds good, I can do with a rest," I replied. I found a rock that was only slightly damp, and sat down in it before resting my head on my hands and my arms on my knees. With my eyes covered, it felt like I could suddenly hear everything a lot better. The forest was truly alive with the sound of nature. I could hear the squeaking of small land-dwelling Pokemon, the squawking of birds and the soft footfalls of the much larger Normal-types. A loud whooshing caught my attention and I raised my eyes, rubbing at them as I did so. A large bird was sitting in a branch, looking down intently at us. It was mostly blue, with some white markings on its lower body and a prominent red neck and chest. The Pokemon didn't seem like it wanted to battle, but it was obviously curious as to why we were here.
    I cleared my throat to get Sammy's attention and pointed up to the bird. "There's a Swellow up there that looks pretty interested in us," I said to her. "Do you want to try battling it?"
    I looked down at the sleeping Galvantula. If Sammy wanted to fight this Wild Pokemon, she'd have to do it without her Electric-type.
I thought about catching the Pokemon, but I remembered that Galvantula was still asleep, and my other two Pokemon were not up for fighting the flying type.
    “I would rather not fight it,” I said, “Maybe it will just leave use alone if we don’t bother it.” I already had a good flying and normal type, so not being able to catch this one wasn’t a big deal to me. I waited to see what the bird like Pokemon was planning.
    “I would rather not fight it,” Sammy replied. “Maybe it will just leave use alone if we don’t bother it.”
    "Unfortunately, it doesn't look like that is going to happen," I replied sourly. The Swellow didn't look like it was going to fly away. In fact, just the opposite - its eyes were starting to shine, and it hopped down onto ever-lower branches. No doubt it was curious as to what we were doing here. It might have even been freshly-evolved: while us Rangers were very active inside the National Park and we frequently went on patrols in addition to the normal Expeditions, it was not unheard of for a Pokemon to have no contact with us until adulthood.
    Galvantula yawned and stretched all of his legs out. He snapped his little neck and looked up at us, chittering happily. He then saw the bird up in the forest canopy and his eyes narrowed. The noises were no longer happy: they were now challenging. I shot Sammy a quick look.
    "It looks like there's going to be a fight if we don't do something quickly," I said to her. "Do you want to buy a PokeDoll for $500? Otherwise, you're going to have to fight."
    The large bird seemed to have taken an interest in the two of us, (or three, counting Galvantula). It was climbing down the branches, coming closer to us. Thankfully, Galvantula had woken up, and was now starting at the normal flying type. He was happily chattering, being well rested. He stopped being happy, and now sounded more annoyed at the flyer.
    "It looks like there's going to be a fight if we don't do something quickly," Chainy said. "Do you want to buy a PokeDoll for $500? Otherwise, you're going to have to fight."
    I didn’t want to fight the Swellow. I leaded down and patted Galvantula on the head.
    “No need to get so angry,” I said as I reached back into my bag and pulled out five hundred dollars. “It will leave us alone, okay?” as I got up and handed the money to Chainy.
    “No need to get so angry,” Sammy said to the bird as it squawked raucously at us. She pulled out some money and handed it to me, clearly intending to purchase a PokeDoll. I was expecting this - she already had three Pokemon captured, and both Swellow and Taillow were pretty common back on the mainland. Why capture them here when it's cheaper to do so back home?
    “It will leave us alone, okay?” the young girl asked me.
    "Yeah, this will work fine," I replied. I threw the doll into some bushes and the Flying-type immediately dove after it. I heard some rustling in the bushes, and I was quite sure the bird wouldn't be emerging for quite a while.
    "Okay, onwards," I said, and I led Sammy down a path. It looked like a pretty normal game trail, although there were quite a few flowers. Slowly, the number of flowers increased, until the ground and even the lower parts of the tree trunks were completely covered in petals of all colours - blue, pink, yellow, white. Soon after the path opened up into a small clearing, which had a small stream running alongside a single rock. The rock was about the same size as a small car, but that wasn't the most interesting thing I saw - a small green and white Pokemon with some small red flowers behind its ears. I gasped quietly - this was a Legendary Pokemon, a Shaymin!
    The Legendary looked up at us and smiled gently, but then went back to sleep. Sammy approached slowly, but I held my hand up to stop her. "Don't get too close," I said to her. "This isn't a place for humans. Let's just go."
    Sammy nodded silently and we turned to leave. What an amazing place, and an amazing way to end an Expedition. I just hoped that Sammy enjoyed it as much as I did. It's just a pity that she didn't have a camera - the picture of that idyllic area would have sold for a lot.
