    Sammy studied the Pokemon for a few seconds before she reached into her bag and pulled out some cash. She offered it to me for a Pokedoll. I took out a Zubat doll and tossed it behind the hostile Pokemon. The Linoone whirled around and took off after the Pokedoll.

    This run was nearing the end so instead of heading the way I wanted to take Sammy, I decided to go for a side path that would take us to the gate. We should run into enough Pokemon there to complete the fifteen encounters.

    It took us five minutes to reach the path, and another seven before we found a Pokemon. The Pokemon we found sitting against a tree among some flowers. At first I thought it was a flower because that’s what it looked like, but upon closer inspection I saw that it was a Cherrim, a Grass type Pokemon.

    Gaius took the money then pulled a small blue bat shaped doll from his bag, then tossed it at the Normal type Pokemon. The rushing Pokémon well, rushed after the little toy. The dolls were pretty cute, and I could not blame the Linoone for wanting to play with it. I remembered that you could buy Pokedolls from the park shop, and make a note of getting one before I left. It would make a nice souvenir, and I could get one for my little sister, she would like that.

    We headed down a side path, walking for a few minutes till we found it, and then walking on it for a few more minutes. We were some in a small grove with flowers and tree. It was rather pretty. A flower was moving in the flowers, and it took me a minute to see that it was a Pokemon, not a flower. It was a Cherrim. Cherrim was a strange Pokemon, Its game was that it could change its form in the sun. sounds good right? The issue was that fire types were also powered up in the sun, and that would not site well with the flower Pokemon. Cherrim was not very strong in the sun, and I didn’t think it would help me much.

    “Maybe we can just pass this one,” I said

    “Maybe we can just pass this one,” Sammy said.

    “Sure,” I said.

    I looked over at the Cherrim just as it looked at us for the first time. It’s eyes widened slightly and a moment later it booked into an underground burrow. That was a quick encounter for Sammy, but nothing was wrong with it because it saved her money if she needed to buy a doll, and it didn’t waste time.

    I started back along the path, but halted a moment later when a white and green Pokemon popped out from a tree. It was Cottonee, a Grass Pokemon. It resembled a fluffy cotton ball, with yellow eyes. While it looked quite cute, it was a pretty devious Pokemon, known for its trickery. I alone had owned three of them, keeping one and trading the other two. If you had a Cottonee, you could trade it, there was always a market for one.

    “You want it?”

    OOC: Can the Cottonee be male?

    “Sure,” Gaius said.

    The Cherrim looked at us. Its eyes got big before it jumped into a bush and into a borrow that was out of sight. The small thing must have been scared of us. It was a contrast to the Linoone that seemed to be angry at us before. Were we really scary enough to scare the flower Pokemon away? I decide not to worry about that, it saved me effort. Gaius turned to go down the path that we were on, only to stop, he was looking at something.

    I looked where he was looking and saw a cotton ball on the ground. Wait, that ball had leaves, and eyes! It was a Cottonee, a pure grass Pokemon. It was good that I had found one with the run nearing its end; I was worried that Lillipup would be the only Pokemon I would be taking out of the park. Cottonee was a good Pokemon, or at least that was what I had heard. A fun thing about it was once it evolved, into a Whimsicott, it could learn flying type moves. Moves like Gust and Tailwind. One of the strongest flying type moves, Hurricane, could be learned by it. The rare thing was that it goes those moves from leveling up, and not from breeding or Technical Machines. It also has some fun abilities. One was Prankster, which would allow for non damaging moves to go first, and Infiltrator, which would allow for it to bypass things like Reflect or Light Screen, which could be helpful in a battle.

    “You want it?” Gaius said; bringing me out of my thoughts.

    “Yes,” I said. I reached into my bag, and pulled out a ball. I tossed it up into the air, and caught it as it came back down. A red energy formed on the ground, and my Galvantula came out. He seemed the natural choice for this fight. While Cottonee would not take a lot of damage from Galvantula’s Electric type attacks, but it would take a lot of damage from his bug type moves, like Bug Buzz or Signal Beam. Staravia was also good for dealing with grass types, but she was weak, and Cottonee lacked the poison typing that keep Galvantula’s bug type moves from being very effective. Galvantula looked at me, and I pointed at the puffball with two eyes and two leafs.

    “I want to catch that one two,” I said “And You’re going to help, start of with a Thunder wave, and then follow it up with a Bug Buzz!”

    Thunder wave would paralyze the Grass type, and Bug Buzz would do some damage. Galvantula was know for doing special based moves, and bug buzz was right up his ally. I hoped that Bug Buzz would take a nice chuck out of the little puffball’s energy. I hoped that the attack would not be too much to knock it out, or I would miss the chance to get a nice Pokemon.

    Galvantula ran towards the ball of fluff, while a blue light appeared around it. The light seemed to flow down to the electric spider’s feelers. A small volt of electrical energy jumped from the feelers towards the mono grass type. Cottonee’s ability to take electric type attacks would not matter with thunder wave, as it did not do damage. Its goal was to paralyze the foe. That would make the Pokemon easier to catch. Sleep was also good for catching. Other status aliments could help with catching, but poising and burning ran the rick of knocking the Pokemon out before it could be caught. Freezing would also be good for catching a Pokemon, but it was hard to come by. No moves could cause freezing directly, and none of the pokemon that I had with me had an ice type move. That was ok, hopefully paralyzing would be enough to make this Pokemon mine.

    Galvantula jumped back after releasing the shock, and started rubbing all the hairs of its body together. At the sane time, he opened his mouth and let a horrible sound out. Luckily, I was far enough from the electric bug type to not have to here the sound. I knew that it was horrible from past experiences. It was strange, how noise could be seen as an attack, heck Bug Buzz was the strongest bug type move. It was also the strongest move that Galvantula or at least my Galvantula had unless he was fight a very slow Pokemon, and used Electro Ball. It could be taught stronger moves like Thunder, but I had not gotten to doing that. Galvantula was a very good thunder user, as thunder’s main drawback, a low chance of hitting, was countered by one of Galvantula’s abilities, compoundeyes, which would bring the chances of it hitting up a good bit.

    Bug buzz was a special move, and Galvantula’s special attack was its second best stat, only bested by speed. It could use physical based moves as well, and got a few fun ones like sucker punch naturally. It was also a nice thing that Cottonee had lower special defense then physical defense. It was a small difference, but it would help a little bit.
    Another good thing was that Cottonee was not a fully evolved Pokemon. It was a basic stage Pokemon which meant that I would not have to use a Hyperball or a Superball. I could just us a Parkball, like I did with Lillipup. when the puffball evolved, it would become a Whimsicott. it used a leaf stone to evolve, and while it was not a complete ball of puff when it did evolve, it still had a large puffy hair do.

    After Galvantula finished with the noise, he jumped back, hoping to avoid any attacks that the pokemon would throw at him.

    “Yes,” Sammy said almost immediately, reaching into her bag. She rummaged around and came up with a red and white small orb, a Pokedoll. She depressed the center button to enlarge it, and called forth her Pokemon, a large yellow spider.

    The Pokemon was a Galvantula, a Bug and Electric type Pokemon, the only one if my memory served me correctly. It possessed high speed and special attack, meaning it could be a threat to most Pokemon if used correctly. The one thing that really set it back was that it didn’t have as diverse movepool as other Pokemon.

    “I want to catch that one, too,” Sammy told her Pokemon. “And you’re going to help. Start off with a Thunder Wave, and then follow it up with a Bug Buzz.”

    It wasn’t a bad start for Sammy in terms of moves. Thunder Wave would of course lower the speed of Cottonee to a fourth and allow a chance of fully paralyzing the Pokemon and not allowing it to move. In the battle though that might not matter if Cottonee used any non-attacking moves, which had increased speed because of Prankster.

    The Galvantula responded to his master by starting to run towards the now aware Cottonee. With its many legs and high speed the Galvantula narrowed the distance between the two Pokemon in a short amount of time. The Cottonee was ready for the Pokemon though because it bounced in front the charging bug and blinked its eyes at him, portraying a look of pure innocence.

    The Galvantula’s speed faltered under the sway of Charm, but it still fired the blue orb of electricity at Cottonee. The attack struck Cottonee, causing the Pokemon to jerk about as the electricity worked its way through its body.

    Just as those movements faded, Galvantula fired its Bug Buzz at Cottonee a moment later. The Cottonee tried to dodge the attack, but Galvantula had fired the attack off at such short range that it couldn’t dodge. Cottonee fell to the ground from the onslaught of the sound move, but rebounded a moment later and fired off an attacks of his own, an Energy Ball. It wouldn’t do much damage, but the Cottonee didn’t posses any real moves that could hurt the Galvantula.

    The small Puffball gave a look of cuteness to my bug and Electric type Pokemon, and he slowed down, before speeding up again. It was the move; charm a move that would lower the attack of the target a bit. I squealed on the inside, I was a sucker of cuteness. My run in with the Lillipup had proved that long ago. Galvantula wasn’t as much of a sucker for it, but he still fell to the cotton ball’s attack. I had heard that Charm could make a raging Hydreigon into a big cuddly teddy bear. That may have been over the top, but I think could happen. You would need to use the move a lot, but after that, the thing could not be too scary.

    I wondered for how the little Cottonee used that move before Galvantula had. Then I remembered that of the basic abilities that Cottonee could have was Prankster, which would allow for it could move first if it was using a non damaging move, like charm. It would also make Thunder wave’s paralyzing effect useless when it was using status moves. That was ok; it would still make the pokemon easier to catch, which was my goal. Cottonee has a surprising amount of status moves, and I would not like to be on the receiving end of them. Cottonee other ability was Infiltrator, which would allow for it to ignore moves like mist and Reflect.

    Galvantula let a small spark, and then let the Bug Buzz out, doing some damage. The charm must have lowered the power of Bug Buzz. The Cottonee formed a ball of green, and then shot it at the large yellow spider. It was energy ball, the second strongest move that Cottonee could learn naturally, the first being SolarBeam. The draw back to that was that SolarBeam took a while to power up. It could be fired instantly in the right weather, which Cottonee could summon with Sunny day. That could be a double edged sword to the puffball, as it would also power up fire type moves, which Cottonee was weak to.

    I bit my lip as Galvantula gave a look at me, waiting for my next command. Bug Buzz was a very powerful move, and it may be best to use it again, but Cottonee had seen that move and I worried that he may dodge it. my fall back moves were Discharge and Signal Beam. Unless I could force Cottonee off of the ground, which would remove its ability to take Electric type attacks, Signal beam was the way to go.

    “Ok, Galvantula, use Signal Beam!” I thought for a second “Then use Gastro Acid!”

    Gastro Acid was a move that would remove the targets ability for a short time. It would get ride of the Prankster, which could cause problems later. It was a strange little move, and I was surprised that I wasn’t used in battle more. Some Pokemon could be very crippled if their ability was out of play for a battle. Pokemon like Dragonite and Blaziken would not be as powerful without the special abilities they could have. If the Pokemon was called back to the trainer, then the effect would be removed. The Cottonee had no ball to be recalled to, so it would lose its ability if it hit.

    Galvantula ran towards the living puff ball, its whole body turning a mix of yellow and red. The colors almost flowed down Galvantula’s body, until it got to the feelers on its face. The colors merged into a ball that shifted in his grasp. A bight white light appeared at the tip, and a stream of yellow and red shot right at the Grass type. Galvantula jumped to the left, and he started making a gurgling sound. In a second a somewhat large purple blob came out of his mouth. Galvantula Jumped back again, before running back to my side.

    OOC: @Joltik;

    ~~~~~
    I strolled along the path, looking for Gaius. He was needed back at base - something to do with the Pokemon Contests that were held back on the mainland. Personally, I wouldn't have let him go, but I wasn't the boss and someone very high up had made the call.
    My GPS beeped, and I knew I was getting closer. I ducked through some shrubbery, being careful not to get my long black coat snagged on any branches. Usually I wouldn't bring the heavy coat along to the Gardens, but it was a bit cold today, and my coat had lots of pockets, which I always found handy. Much easier than using the circular pack which snuggled in the small of my back.
    After pushing through for perhaps half a minute, I found my quarry. He was watching a battle between a Galvantula and a Cottonee. The Cottonee fired a glowing green orb at its Electric opponent, but as expected the attack's effect was negligible. I walked up to Gaius and tapped on his shoulder. I murmured the situation to him, explaining quietly that he was needed back at base and I was going to take over. Apparently he knew what was going on because he immediately turned and left. My attention left him and refocused on the battle.
    "Okay Galvantula, now use Signal Beam!" the Trainer commanded. "Then use Gastro Acid!"
    It was a good move, I thought. Gastro Acid would negate the Cottonee's irritating Prankster Ability. An Ability that I immediately saw in action, it turned out. The Electric-type moved forwards, gathering a multicoloured orb of power between its mandibles, but the Wild Grass-type was faster. It flew around in circles over the Galvantula, and as it did so small pieces of its soft white fluff drifted down through the air. Galvantula responded by firing the Signal Beam at the Cottonee, and surprisingly, it made contact. The Cottonee was blasted out of the air and it fell with a soft tap onto the ground. Unfortunately, this was all the time that the Cotton Puff Pokemon needed. The majority of the white spores it had dropped were now firmly attached to the Galvantula, and as the spider tried to move forwards the spores dragged at the Pokemon, slowing it down.
    Nevertheless, Galvantula moved to the side as it started making a strange gurgling sound. Once the spider had a better shot, it launched a big sticky blob of purple goo towards the Cottonee, which was only just recovering. The Grass-type got covered by the sludge, and it made a noise of extreme disgust. It bounced a couple times, trying to get the muck off itself, but that wasn't going to work.
    "Hey there, my name is James and I'll be accompanying you on the remainder of your run," I said to the Trainer, not wanting to startle her. It turned out that I didn't have to be worried about that - something much more startling happened on the battlefield. The Cottonee suddenly emitted a bright white light from within its body, attempting to blind us all. I closed my left eye instinctively and the visor that covered my right eye darkened automatically, but I hoped the girl at my side was alright.
    OOC: Thanks for taking this~
    Galvantula Managed to hit the grass type with that bight beam of energy. The small puffball let a spiel of while fluffy balls much like it’s self out. They encoded Galvantula in a small layer. The move was cotton spore, a move that could really slow down the target. That wasn’t good. Well, most debufs weren’t losing speed was bad for him, mainly because speed was one of his strong points. The Cottonee was making more use of that ability it had. Thankfully the Cotton wasn’t enough to stop Galvantula. I was lucky that it hadn’t used sleep power or stun spore. I had used my lava cookie already. I did still have Staravia who was still we from the fight with Roselia. It would be better if she rested more.
    I felt a little bad for the white ball, the gunk that Galvantula had spit on it looked discussing. I bet it felt discussing as well. I make a note that if I ever save that move coming at me, I would get out of the way, and fast. The good thing was that the annoying ability was gone. Status moves were annoying, and it may use less of them now. I sure hopped it did. Most of the damaging moves that Cottonee had would do rather little to Galvantula.
    I heard a voice come from a little to the left, "Hey there, my name is James and I'll be accompanying you on the remainder of your run," I was about to turn when the Cottonee began to glow it was getting brighter and brighter.
    “Oh crap” I mutter to my self as it gained light. It must be using flash or something! I pulled my arm up over my eyes, but I forgot about Galvantula, its ability may be a hindrance here. Having to take the light with its sensitive eyes wouldn’t be good for it.
    The light faded from around my arm and I slowly lowered it. Galvantula was blinking looking a little stunned from the move. It would still be seeing spots, and may miss more then it would. Moves that lower accuracy, or boost evasion are really annoying. It feels cheep to win because of luck. The Cottonee was wild, so I don’t think it cared about being fair. But I was the one using a Pokemon that it could not do a lot of damage to, so maybe I was the one not playing fair. Galvantula had only been hit with one flash, so that was good, and it would not miss too much, hopefully. I should not be too shocked that Cottonee had that move; most grass types could learn it. I would just have to be careful and make sure that it didn’t hit again.
    “Galvantula, are you ok?” Yelled to him, He turned to face me, and gave a little nod. “Ok then, let’s counter that cotton. See if you can out speed it again, use Agility!” That should get rid of the cotton, hopefully. “Once you’ve don e that, hit it with your bug buzz again!”
    Galvantula started running around the Pokemon trying to boost its speed. I turned to the voice that I had heard right before the Cottonee used flash. It was a man, in a dark coat. Gaius was nowhere to be seen. I had been so absorbed in the fight that I had not noticed him leave, or coat guy to show up.
    “Who are you?” I asked, “And what happened to Gaius?”
    While I was talking Galvantula had finished running and was now reading its Bug Buzz attack. He started rubbing most of the hairs on this body, alone with the feels on his face together. This made a loud almost painful sound. I found myself feeling bad for the puffball, first yucky sticky stuff gets all over it, and then it hears a Bug Buzz. One of the bug type’s strongest moves, and it was weak to it too. The noise got louder and louder, until it reached its peak.
    OOC: No worries ^^
    ~~~~~

    “Galvantula, are you okay?” the young woman asked her Pokemon. The Galvantula turned and nodded. “Okay then, let’s counter that cotton. See if you can out-speed it again; use Agility! Once you’ve done that, hit it with your Bug Buzz again!”

    The spider started shaking itself vigorously, trying to dislodge the sticky cotton spores. A few of them came off, but not many. The Electric-type decided on a different tack - it started running in circles around the Cottonee. This worked a little better - more of the spores fell off as the spider sped around on the grass. Once about two-thirds of the sticky white stuff had been shed, the Galvantula started making a horrible droning sound. Thankfully I had brought along my auto-sealing earplugs, so the second the noise started to cause me physical pain my earplugs cut out the frequency. They really were a marvel - I could hear everything fairly well but the Bug Buzz itself was being quietened.

    “Who are you?” the Trainer asked apparently not too bothered by the noise. “And what happened to Gaius?”

    "He had to go," I replied in a louder-than-usual voice, a subconscious reaction to the Galvantula's attack. "My name is James, but I'm known to go by Chainy as well. Whichever you prefer, I'm not fussed. Anyway, I'll be accompanying you for the remainder of this Expedition. What's your name?"

    The Galvantula's attack ended, and I saw that the Cottonee was starting to look a bit run-down. Its defensive maneuver with the spores hadn't worked out too well. However, like most Grass-types, it was incredibly resourceful. It watched the Galvantula as the Electric-type continued to run in circles. The very second that the Galvantula snagged on a piece of grass, the Cottonee fired a round yellow seed from within its white body. The seed landed on the Galvantula's back and some small vines snaked out from one end. These vines wrapped around the Galvantula's midsection and held on tight. I recognised the move, and I knew that my Trainer would have to hurry this battle up if she didn't want it to turn around.

    I was fairly happy with how much of that spore that Galvantula had removed from its body. The man that had appeared spoke:

    "He had to go," He said, "My name is James, but I'm known to go by Chainy as well. Whichever you prefer, I'm not fussed. Anyway, I'll be accompanying you for the remainder of this Expedition. What's your name?"

    I was going to reply when I head Galvantula make small growl, if you could all it that. I focused on him, seeing that he has green vines crawling all over his body. I was a bit surprised; I hadn’t seen the little grass type launch an attack. I wounded what the move could be before I realized that only one move that I could think of matched the vines that were on my Bug type. Leech Seed, it was a grass type move that would slowly suck away the health of Galvantula. It would also give the health back to Cottonee. That was something that I didn’t want. It was a move that was caused the leeching of health, and it was started by a seed. Makes sense, I must have missed the send because I was looking at James, or Chainy, or something.

    “Hold that thought,” I said to Chainy, I wanted to see if I could end this. The Cottonee looked very week, and I didn’t want to risk another attack. Knocking it out would be a bad idea to say the least, and I would likely end up raging at the end. I don’t like that ether. Leech seed would hopefully leave, and Galvantula would still be in good shape. He was the strongest of the Pokemon I had here, and proved to be efficient force against the other Pokemon that could be found in the Gardens.

    The Cottonee had been attacked a bit, and I could see that it was looking weak. I figured that this would be the best time to toss a ball. I still had my Superball, and Hyperball, but Cottonee was a base level Pokemon, and it only needed a Park ball to be caught. The Superball and Hyperball would give a better chance of catching the Pokemon, but I better say them for latter. Just incase. I would still have to be careful. An idea entered my head.

    “Galvantula,” I said “Use string shot!” Sting shot was a move that would slow down the puffball, and if I was lucky, hold it down for a few seconds. It would also make sure that the Cottonee wasn’t paying attention to me.

    Galvantula ran towards the Grass type. It started forming a small ball of web its mouth. Once it got to be about three feet away from the Cotton ball, it shot a long string from the ball towards the Cottonee, and didn’t stop until the ball was gone, and the last sting was shot.

    While Galvantula was attacking I quickly went trough my bag, no I wasn’t reaching for the Energy Powder or the Hyperball! I finally found my target, the small pack of Parkballs. I had used one for Lillipup, but I still had a few left. I graved one and looked at the Cottonee. It was still engrossed in the battle with Galvantula, I hope. I looked at it again and readied an underhand swing. I took a breath and tossed the ball.

    It looked like the girl was about to respond when she realised the battle was still going on. She turned and saw the Leech Seed that had wrapped around her Pokemon's midsection, and a small frown crinkled her forehead. Leech Seed was widely seen as one of the most powerful moves in Pokemon battling - not because of its power or versatility, but because it gave the user incredible staying power. In most professional leagues, if a Leech Seed attack made contact, the afflicted Pokemon would be immediately withdrawn. The move was a Grass-type specialty, of which I was glad because Grass-types copped enough flak for being sub-par defensively.

    "Galvantula, use String Shot!" the young girl ordered.

    Galvantula ran towards the barely-moving Cottonee and started to spray a yellow-cream colour stream of sticky fluid at the Grass-type. The String Shot hit with a disgusting splortch sound and it practically glued the Cottonee to the grass. Galvantula's Trainer quickly rummaged through her bag and pulled out a camoflage-decor Park Ball. I certainly understood her haste - Leech Seed was a real game-changer. If it went unchecked for too long, the current battle positions could be easily reversed, never mind the Cottonee's immobility.

    A mere moment later the Park Ball went flying through the air towards the Cottonee. It hit one of the few exposed areas and sucked the Grass type in before falling onto a patch of fresh grass. It wobbled once... and twice... before bursting open amidst a blast of red light. When the flash had gone, I saw that the Cottonee was outside, and the Park Ball was covered in the Galvantula's gunk. No way the girl at my side would be able to fetch it before the battle ended.

    I crossed my fingers as the ball was flying at the Cottonee. I held my breath as the ball wiggled, and was a bit mad when the Pokemon popped back out. There has to be some thing I could do to make the Cottonee easier to catch.

    “OK,” I said “Galvantula, use Thunder Wave!” The move would paralyze the Cottonee, making it easier to snag.

    Galvantula ran towards the Pokemon, and fired a small blue spark at the Cottonee, Hopefully slowing it down.

    I graved another ball form the bag, knowing that I only had a few left. I may be able to get the other ball back after the fight was over, but it would be best to wait. I tossed the ball.

    OOC: @Joltik; Sorry for the long wait, lots of work and uninspired and suchforth. :(

    ~~~~~
    My Trainer didn't look happy to see the Cottonee burst out from the Park Ball, but she didn't let it get her down. She commanded a Thunder Wave attack, and her Galvantula was quick to respond. A long thin line began wrapping around Galvantula, wrapping over and over on top of itself until the line was a thick cord. This cord then exploded outwards, passing across the battlefield and wrapping around the freshly-escaped Cottonee. The cord tightened and released electrical sparks, disappearing as it did so. It kind of looked like the electrical line was being absorbed into the Grass-type's fluffy body. I saw that the Cottonee wanted to retailate, but the Thunder Wave attack was debilitating, so all it could do was lay on the ground, shaking occasionally.
    The young girl threw another Park Ball, and the Cottonee was sucked inside for the second time. The ball shook on the ground, but this time the Wild Pokemon did not escape. I walked over and picked up both of the balls, returning the empty one to the Trainer.
    "Nice battle. Alright, let's try this again; my name is James Carter and I'll be taking you through for the rest of your expedition," I introduced myself.
    OOC: No problem~
    The Ball flew and hit the puffball that I was trying to catch. I crossed my fingers and the Pokémon’s ball shock three times and clicked.
    “Yays!” I said, as Galvantula ran over to me, I kneeled down and petted him on the head. He made a weird kind of purring sound as I did so. Our little victory was interrupted.
    "Nice battle. Alright, let's try this again; my name is James Carter and I'll be taking you through for the rest of your expedition," It was the man from before, who said he was here to replace Gaius, or something.
    “Hi,” I said, as I walked towards the man, “I’m Sammy,” I sat down on a near by rock and withdrew Galvantula, telling my self that I would give him some treats later.
    “Would you mind if I rested a bit before we go?” I said “I’m a little tried”
    "Hi, I'm Sammy," the young girl replied as she returned her Galvantula. It was good to finally put a name to her face, I hated referring to people internally by their characteristics.
    "Would you mind if we rested a little bit before we go?" Sammy asked. "I'm a little tired." She went to a rock and sat down.
    "Not at all," I replied, leaning back against a tree. The bark was rough and gritty, but it was still much more comfortable than standing freely. "That was an impressive battle. I've never seen a Galvantula fight before, although my little brother is working on breeding and raising some right now. Do you have any tips I can pass onto him? Yours looked pretty strong."
    I heard a quiet cheeping coming from the trees around us, and after a minute of looking I finally located the source. A small black-and-white bird was sitting in a branch high above us, pecking at some sort of purple berry. I pointed it out to Sammy.
    "Feel like catching a Starly?" I asked her.
    “Not really,” I replied,” I’ve had him for a long time, and have been training him the longest, so maybe that’s it. He does like his threats though.”
    I closed my eyes for a second and was almost really to get up.
    “Feel like catching a Starly?”
    I looked up at the gray and white bird, before shaking my head. The bird was cute, and I liked it, but I already had one, and I saw no reason to catch another.
    “I’d like to leave it be,”
    Sammy looked up at the bird and seemed to consider it for a couple of seconds. "I'd like to leave it be," she said.
    "Fair enough," I replied. I wasn't particularly surprised by this choice - Starly were all over the mainland, so if you wanted to catch a Starly you easily could. Since you were only allowed to bring three Pokemon out, most of the Trainers chose to focus on catching the rarer Pokemon that were extremely hard to find elsewhere.
    The Starly finished its snack and looked down at us curiously. It chirped a couple more times before flying off into the trees, its brisk wingbeats making a brr-brr-brr sound. I yawned and stretched against the tree before pushing myself off of it.
    "Well, ready to go yet?" I asked my Trainer.
    The little bird flew away from us, not wanting to bother us.
    "Well, ready to go yet?" Chainy said from where he was leaning. I stood up, and then looked at the Pokeballs I was holding. Staravia was looking at the trees, Galvantula was cleaning his feelers and Scraggy appeared to be napping. He did nape a lot, it was on of his favorite things after all. Next to eating things anyway. I stretched and looked around the forest, knowing that my run was nearing an end.
    “I’m ready,” I said as I walked towards Chainy, “Where do we go next?”
    Sammy stretched out in a long line, and gazed around at the forest surrounding us. "I'm ready," she said. "Where do we go next?"
    "Well, I guess we just pick a direction and move," I said as Sammy got to her feet. I pantomimed eeny meeny miney mo and started walking in the direction in that my finger stopped. Sammy didn't object and there was a nice little game trail that we could follow. It was probably carved by some of the larger herbivore Pokemon that lived around here, like the Bouffalant or the Deerling. The result was a small curved path that, while slippery, was easier to walk through than the scrub surrounding us.
    The game trail led us out of the forest, to a nice open plain interspersed with small flowerbeds. I wasn't quite sure exactly where we were, but I was quite certain that we were near the entrance. The further away from the gate you went, the less orderly the plant life was, and these gardens looked quite well-tended.
    A Pokemon wandered over from one of the flowerbeds. It was cat-like, with a cream body and a purple mane/head. There was some yellow powder on its nose, so I deduced that it had been enjoying the scent of the blooming flowers.
    "Hey, that's a Delcatty," I said to Sammy. "They're quite rare, and their Normalize ability can make them very powerful when raised right. Are you interested in trying to capture it?"
    "Well, I guess we just pick a direction and move," Chainy said as he got up and pointed around the park before settling on a direction. It felt random to me, and I got a little worried. Weren’t there stories about how little boy would go deep into the forest? While in their they got lost and found a house made of Pokeblocks. But the Peron that lived in the house was a men witch that ate kids! Sure they got away in the end, but who’s to say that we’ll be that lucky?
    I was fallowing Chainy while I was worrying, and we cam into a large plain with lots of flowers. I let out a small gasp, fears of a person eating witch gone. The muti colored flowers were everywhere.
    "Hey, that's a Delcatty," Chainy spoke up . "They're quite rare, and their Normalize ability can make them very powerful when raised right. Are you interested in trying to capture it?"
    “Not really,” I said, I already had Lillipup, and while Delcatty may be stronger, I wanted to stick with him for now.
