"Let's stick with attacking to show out ghost friend that we're not as weak as it thinks," Ashe said boldly, clearly hoping to change from defensive to offensive now that Dragonite had a much higher amount of health. I gave a little chuckle. Ashe had matured so much and grown so much more confident in this short space of time. When she first entered the Park she was shy and was afraid to make any decissions of her own. I remembered the first question I asked her, "where do you want to go," and her reaction - she blushed and started stuttering, unsure of what to do, so I took the lead. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if she decided where she wanted to go. The ttransformation was that big! The National Park builds characters, and now I could safely say, Ashe was one of them.

"First, use Agility combined with Dragon Rush to make the impact stronger. Then, before you hit it, use Leer to make it a bit scared of you. Hopefully, it will stop showing off afterwards," Ashe said calmly. Using moves that tended to lower the stats of your opponents were great here in the National Park. I have seen them executed perfectly to great success. Hopefully, this would be another one of those occasions.

Dragonite loosened her body and began rolling her arms and legs around in circles, in preparation for using Agility. Her body gained a faint blue tint and she shot up into the air, her powerful torqouise wings beating relentlessly. She soared through the air at an immense speed, zigzagging erratically through the sky, confusing her opponenent. Then she advanced on the Spiritomb and began her assault. Her body arched upwards and the bristles on her head shot up as she lunged forward, freefalling throughthe calm, blue skies. As she approached the still Spiritomb her claws extended and curled inwards for optimum damage. She swooped down and slashed at Spiritomb with her razor-sharp claws and made an intimidating face. Her usually calm and innocent face filled with contempt and hatred. Her eyes narrowed and a throbbing vein bulged out of her forehead. And, to make matters worse for the Spiritomb she let out an ear-splitting screech.

Dragonite then made a u-turn back to her master, but the cunning Spiritomb snapped back to her senses let out a soothing noise, like gas escaping a pressurised area slowly. The noise was calming and I felt my eyes droop slowly. Snap out of it! I scowled at myself. But, the Dragonite's head lulled and her eyelids closed as she slumped to the ground, fast asleep.

Dragonite was happily flying back to me. She had a prideful look on her face and obviously expected praise. She landed next to me with a giant smile on her face. However, I knew that the matter wasn't finished and that Spiritomb was only preparing to repay Dragonite's attack. I had a bad feeling about someone watching me from behind and when I turned around I realised it was Jay. He was giving me a really strange stare and I was worried whether I didn't overdo it with the last few moves. I subconsciously made a few steps forwards as if I was trying to escape from his glare. The surroundings and the heat of the battle made me calm down and feel a bit relaxed. However, realising that Jay was standing there returned me to the real world where I had to limit the battle so that the park or any wild Pokemon won't get unnecessarily damaged or hurt. I really wanted to forget about Jay again but I couldn't. I noticed that my voice became lower and started slightly shaking. Dragonite noticed the change in me especially because I forgot to praise her. She sniffed at me probably thinking that i got hit by an attack of the Spiritomb and it had side effects. I moved away from her nose because it was quite uncomfortable and patted her on her head.

"Great job there, buddy." I tried to smile but Dragonite looked at me in surprise so it surely looked like anything but a smile. But at the moment the only thing on my mind was that after the battle Jay would yell at me for doing too much damage to the Pokemon in one turn or something similar. I tried to chase those thoughts away and focus on the battle like before. Dragonite was still staring at me as if she was thinking whether she should bite my head off or not. I giggled by that thought and, once again, calmed down a bit. I was enjoying the short break that we had and completely forgot that Spiritomb would try to get his revenge.

"Dragonite, don't forget about the battle!" Dragonite just nodded obviously living in the real world more than me. She was slowly walking towards Spiritomb with her wings spread in case of an unpredicted attack but it seemed like Spiritomb was idle. It was just floating on the opposite side and seemingly doing nothing. Then, I heard something. It was a gentle calming sound that was getting stronger and stronger by every second. I suddenly felt really warm and sleepy. I was closing my eyes and disappearing into the world of dreams when I heard a loud thud nearby. I quickly opened my eyes just to notice that my Dragon type was lying on the ground sleeping. When I fully realised what was going on and Dragonite started snoring and exhaling loudly. I was staring at her in surprise with my mouth wide open. It must have been a really funny looking scene to everyone around. And that brought me back, realising that Jay was watching. I didn’t have time paying attantion to him becuase this was a really bad time for Dragonite to take a nap.

"Come on, Dragonite, you've gotta wake up!" At first I tried yelling at her but it was useless. She was still snoring not realising what was going on around her. At this rate, Spiritomb could hit her with everything it wanted and the battle would finish really soon. I knew I had to do something and I also knew that I could have counted on it and prepared beforehand. I looked at Spiritomb who was obviously enjoying the sight and was giggling. I felt like throwing a rock at it but since this was a fair battle making opponent sleep was allowed. Besides, it would be useless because Spiritomb was a ghost type and could easily avoid it.

I ran to my friend and I started shaking with her, hoping I would wake her up but it was useless. She was still snoring. I turned her around thinking it would do some change and I just got hit to my face. It wasn't anything serious, it just hurt a lot. She must have had a very ugly nightmare when she had reactions like this. I fell on the ground what served as a good entertainment for our foe. It started laughing at me being hit by my own Pokemon in sleep. I had to admit it when I thought about it it looked funny to me too. I chuckled and then laughed deeply and Spiritomb gave me a confused look.

I got up and stopped panicking about Dragonite sleeping. After all, she deserved a good rest and at that time it all seemed more funny than dangerous. I moved backwards because I knew that this was a battle and since it was allowed it would be unfair if I intervened it because it was MY Pokemon that was sleeping. Spiritomb wouldn't get anyone to wake him up by force if it fell asleep. So, logically, it was only right not to act madly when Dragonite was sleeping. But I was still in right when I was calling at her so I repeatedly did so hoping Spitomb wasted its chance to attack when it decided to watch our performance. Even if it did attack, I tried to convince myself that it wouldn't do anything too dangerous since it already revealed its courteous nature before. I tried calling at Dragonite again but it was in vain Dragonite was sleeping soundly.

"Come on, Dragonite, you've gotta wake up!" Ashe yelled at her dosing Pokemon. Ashe ran over and started shaking the Dragonite, softly at first but grew more firmer and stronger as the seconds passed. Then, Dragonite flicked her wing a little whacking Ashe in the face. Ashe flinced a little but she looked ok. I immediately felt a pang of guilt in the pit of my stomach. I looked at the Spiritomb who was giggling to it's heart'scontent.

"Oh, be quiet!" I snapped at theirritating Spiritomb who grew silent after hissing at me. "That's better."

Spiritomb realised it was time to take advantage of the sleeping foe and hovered closer. It's mouth stretched open and it licked it's lips nervously. She began sucking in air and dreams from the sleeping Dragonite, but Spiritomb must have done something wrong as Dragonite stirred a little and flicked her wing, more powerful than before. The wing smacked Spiritomb in the face sending it backwards a little. It hissed once more as myself and Ashe broke into giggles.

OOC: Sorry for the late post again. I knew I promised I'd post sooner but this was quite difficult.

I watched as the Spiritomb came closer to my friend and gently licked its lips. I was wondering what was it about to do but I had a bad feeling that it wouldn't be anything nice. Spiritomb opened its mouth and started sucking in Dragonite's dreams. It looked it a wind of pictures that came from Dragonite's ears right into its foe's mouth. I couldn't help smiling when Dragonite shivered because I knew what would come next. The dragon type spread her wing that was closer to Spiritomb and hit it right to its face. It sent it flying backwards and the ghost type looked a bit confused. However, it recovered quite fast and hissed loudly. Both Jay and I started laughing but I quickly tried to hide it when I saw that Spiritomb didn't look too pleased about it.

I tried calling at Dragonite once again to wake her up but it was pointless. I knew I had to figure something out fast before Spiritomb could do more harm to my sleeping dragon type. There wasn’t much I could do when Dragonite was asleep. I was thinking about every time Dragonite had been sleeping just in case I would remember something important, something I had been missing, however, it was no use. After I gave that up I decided to find something that could help me in Dragonite’s sleep. I wasn’t pointless like the try before because I realised that there was something about it. Dragonite reacted aggressively each time something touched her the way she didn’t like. I remembered that I accidentally grabbed her antennae when I was trying to move her and she had always hated it when someone touched them. Her reflex made her react on Spiritomb’s move as well because she felt it was something bad. Maybe if I managed to somehow make her act in her sleep again, she’d be able to land a hit on Spiritomb. However, doing that was really difficult so I knew she wouldn’t be able to do a combo or anything complicated. The good thing was that Spiritomb, unaware of my deduction, was blithely floating around Dragonite really close to her. There was no way it could dodge any move Dragonite would perform. The only problem was to make her act.

I knew that if I press on the right buttons, I could make her unleash Dragon Rush, which would be really ugly for Spiritomb at this distance. I wasn’t worried about Dragonite’s aim because I was sure she was able to smell it and she would think that the impulse came form it since there was no other Pokemon around and her senses would consider a Pokemon much worse treat than a human. Besides, Spiritomb was the closest of us to her to it was only logical she’d go for him. Now, the only problem left was to find out how to get that reaction from her.

“Dragonite, attack!” I was a nice try but the only effect it had was that it made Spiritomb laugh again. I did kind of hope that Dragonite would be able to recognise my voice and do what I said but I knew there wasn’t a big chance that it would work. Spiritomb was getting dangerously closer to my dragon type so I had to hurry up with my plan or else it could be too late.

I came up with something that I didn’t really like because it included hurting my own Pokemon. Spiritomb gave me a giant grin as it was taking its time with another attack just to enjoy my suffering. I closed my eyes but I wasn’t able to think about anything else so I decided to give it a try. I grabbed a small rock that was next to me and threw it up. I was aiming at Dragonite’s antennae because that was where the attack wouldn’t hurt much but would make her really pissed. I wanted the stone to hit Dragonite from top so that she wouldn’t get confused and attack me instead. Or I should say so that she would get confused and attack Spiritomb instead because I was the one who deserved the counter attack.

The first rock I threw missed and Spiritomb gave me a surprised look because he wasn’t sure whether I intended to hurt my own Pokemon or him. The only good thing about Spiritomb’s interest in my actions was that it was stalling the time of its next attack thus giving me more time to make my dragon Pokemon attack.

I threw another stone and this time it scratched her antennae. She nibbled with it and turned over which meant it had the desired effect. I didn’t bother looking at Jay because I knew he’d be giving me a strange look that would make me feel uneasy again. Actually, his whole presence made me feel uneasy but the current situation made me to think of something completely different.

I threw another stone and this time I directly hit Dragonite’s antennae. She turned over on her stomach and growled angrily. She started shaking violently and a gentle blue light appeared around her. It slowly grew and became darker until it became a deep blue coloured sphere that completely engulfed her. Dragonite spread her wings flapped them and shot towards Spiritomb. It was barely a second but it seemed a lot longer to me.

"Dragonite, attack," Ashe said half-heartedly as she stared down at her Dragonite. Spiritomb gave her a wiltering glare and started to chuckle once more. Ashe ducked down and plucked three or four pebbles from the ground and hurled them, presumably at the Spiritomb. One of them sailed past the tip of Spiritomb's head, the second hitting Dragonite's antennae causing it to twitch and grumble a little. Ashe threw one last pebble, which hit Dragonite a little harder than before. Dragonite rolled around as her eyes opened sleepily.

Spiritomb was caught slightly off gaurd and froze for a second, which was more than enough time for Dragonite. A light blue aura envelloped the friendly Dragon and her claws expanded. "Drago-NITE!" she roared as she tore forward, hitting Spiritomb and causing the pair to crash into the ground, scattering pebbles into the air. Spiritomb jumped back a little and closed it's eyes. A light, wind began to pick up suddenly, gradually growing stronger. Spiritomb seemed to be creating this unusual wind. The wind knocked the bulky Dragonite a little backwards, more to give Spiritomb space, rather than cause damage. Dragonite was knocked back a total of ten or so feet. She shook her head lazily, trying to fully wake up.

OOC: Yeah, you are scary. :p

Dragonite shot at Spiritomb at full speed and slammed him on the ground. It was difficult to see what was going on for a while because the stones that were flying all around us. The dust that spread from the spot of impact didn't help it either as it was thick and opaque. It was quiet, too quiet, so I knew something bad was going on. I closed my eyes and for some strange reason I felt a breeze. I opened my eyes and realised that it was coming from those two and it was clearing the dust. The breeze was getting stronger and it turned into wind. However, it wasn't some usual wind, it had a dark feel that gave me shivers. This time, I was really worried about Dragonite, because just as Spiritomb was close enough for a strong attack, she was now close enough to it for a lot stronger counter attack. I was sure that if Spiritomb chose the wrong move, Dragonite would have to finish the trip sooner than intended.

While I was having these thoughts, the wind became unbearable and a powerful gust came through the area and then stopped. I had to cover my face to make sure that the dust wouldn't make me to finish the trip soon than intended and so I wasn't able to see anything. Although I had a strong feeling that the wind I had felt just now was caused by Spiritomb and not by any random natural occurrence. In truth, I was really worried about Dragonite because of that battle. She hadn't been in such a difficult and long battle before so, naturally, I felt bad for her and wished it would finish as soon as possible. Spiritomb still looked quite strong so I decided that this is the right time for us to stop playing. The damage Dragonite did to it with Dragon Rush was nothing compared to what Spiritomb could do if it got angry. If we didn't get serious as soon as possible it could knock Dragonite out if it wanted.

I touched an empty Parkball on my belt. I placed them there when I was checking my bag for the last time to make sure that I would have them prepared when I would need them. But this still was not the right time to catch it. I had to weaken it a bit more. If I tried to catch it now, it would easily escape or even dodge. It seemed to be taking this battle in a relaxed way, aiming more for having fun than battling for real. It was pissing me off but it also gave me a good opening for something Spiritomb wouldn't expect.

"Please, Dragonite, hang on for a little longer." I whispered to myself while making up another strategy in my mind. I was sure we had to go all out but I was worried Dragonite would still be unwilling to do so. Her nature was too kind for this kind of battle but on the other hand, maybe this was exactly that kind of battle she needed to be in. After all, if this won't make her forget about worrying about her foe then nothing.

I finally found her between the chaos quite far from Spiritomb, where the wind threw her. She was nearly lying on the ground, only her hands made it look like she was trying to rise up. She shook her head and wanted to go forward but stumbled a little but she recovered quickly enough not to fall down. The hit wasn't damaging but her sleep made her a bit confused. I knew the best thing to make her regain her stability and help her in the battle.

"Dragonite, use Dragon Dance!" Dragonite gave me an upset look but she knew it was for the best. She too felt that this opponent was really strong and she didn’t want it to beat her. After giving it another though she nodded and smiled to ensure me that she wasn’t angry. I smiled at her back as she turned back to Spiritomb.

Dragonite stretched her hands from her body as if she wanted to hug Spiritomb and then pulled them back to her stomach as she made a pirouette on tips of her toes. She ended with her legs crossed and her hands next to her body so that her right hand was facing Spiritomb. Then she lowered her head slightly and touched it with her right hand. It was follwed by several steps back that looked as if she wanted to walk forwards but something was pulling her from behind so she was actually moving backwards. She then made another pirouette and ended it with standing with her legs crossed, her right hand on her head and her left hand stretched like before but in a slight curve and her palm was facing the sky. She, then, raised her head and headed towards Spiritomb like when using Agility, because Dragon Dance increased her speed too. On top, her fangs and claws looked sharper and I was certain that her energy based attacks would deal more damage than before as well.

“THis is the right time to attack! Show it the power of Flying type moves with Wing Attack!” I yelled at my half dragon type and she spread her wings in response. They started glowing bright white light as the energy from her whole body concentrated in her wings. She flew in curves so that Spiritomb wouldn’t expect her attack and when she was close enough she was prepared to unleash the energy at Spiritomb by flapping the wings. When she stopped right in front of her foe, a soft blow of wind that was following her and obviously got surprised with her sudden stop, hit Spiritomb making him aware of her presence. She immediately started flapping her wings and many sharp energy blades flew from her them. They send us another breeze because they were spinning really quickly but this one felt a lot gentler and was full of good energy. Dragonite was probably really sorry that she had to do this, but she too was tired form the battle so decided to do her best in hopes to make up for it later after I catch the Pokemon.

"Please, Dragonite, hang on for a little longer," Ashe said carefully to her Dragonite. "Dragonite, use Dragon Dance!" she added, getting an odd look from Dragonite. Dragonite brought her large body up on her tippy toes and raised her arms delicately above her head, inhaled, and performed a little pirouette. She sprinted around leaping gracefully from spot to spot like an angel. I fought back the urge to laugh seeing the determined look on the Dragon types face. Her face was scrunched up with concentration and her eyes flared excitedly. She stopped suddenly and approached the Spiritomb, faster than before.

“This is the right time to attack! Show it the power of Flying type moves with Wing Attack!”

Dragonite lunged forward and hacked at the air with her powered wings. It seemed as though she pierced the air with her wings and a blast of air shot forward, startling the Spiritomb. Spiritomb winced and retreated a little, clearly hurt by the attack. Spiritomb didn't move, it just stood there, waiting. Strange.

The attack, strengthened by Dragon Dance, caused a lot of damage to Spritomb. It was literally taken aback since it moved a few steps back and looked at Dragonite in shock. The attack did a lot more damage than I expected and I was quite pleased by it. The only thing that made me worried was Spiritomb's passivity. I was honestly surprised when the ghost Pokemon didn't counter the Wing Attack but was standing in place instead. The evil look in its told me that Spiritomb was preparing for something that would be far more damaging ro Dragonite than her last attack was to it. I knew that I had to act really fast as I wanted to abuse the opening Spiritomb gave me. I didn't want to think too long of a move so I took the fact that Dragonites was really close to Spiritomb to my advantage.

"Dragonite, get close to Spiritomb as fast as possible, using Agility and then use Aqua Tail to hit it!" I shouted at my loyal friend who shot towards Spiritom at a great speed and appeared next to it in less than a second. A small drop of water started building on the tip of her tail. Stream of water slid down to her back shaping into a spiral, prepared to unleash its full power anytime. The stream was thinner on the tip of her tail than near her back.

When was Dragonite close enough, she spun to hit Spiritomb with her full power so, hopefully, make it weak enough to be caught. I truly hoped that this would end the whole battle. Spritomb was a strong oponent and I couldn't wait to see Jay picking up the Pokeball with it inside. Only if everything went the way I wanted. I hoped it would even though I knew how unlucky I was and it was haunting me. I grabbed one empty Parkball from belt and prepared to throw it at Spiritomb when the time was right.

OOC: yay for MCR changes ^^

"Dragonite, get close to Spiritomb as fast as possible, using Agility and then use Aqua Tail to hit it!" Ashe shouted, sensing the battle drawing to a close.

Dragonite started to glow a familiar blue aura but Spiritomb snickered. A fist began to form in front of Dragonite. The index finger wiggled around, taunting and distracting Dragonite. The hand retreated a little as Dragonite stared before slapping Dragonite sharply on the cheek.

"Drago," she growled as water rushed to her tail, the weight making her move more powerful. I could sense Ashe's apprehension and my own as Dragonite spun around suddenly, slamming the tail into Spiritomb. Like before, Spiritomb remained still and took the attack, almost as if it enjoyed the pain. How very strange, I found myself thinking. I saw Ashe's fist tighten around a Park Ball in her hand, bracing for the capture of this magnificent Pokemon.

Dragonite hit Spiritomb with all her power causing it a pain that made it stunned. Or at least so it looked but I felt that something bad was about to happen. I was sure that Spiritomb had something in its mind that wouldn't make me or my Pokemon happy. However, I didn't know what was on its mind so I couldn't do anything about its evil plans. I checked my other Parkballs, to make sure that I knew where I had them in case I needed to use more. Actually, I was quite sure Spiritomb was preparing something evil just for this moment.

I closed my eyes, hoping that I was just too paranoid. After making sure that this was the chance I was waiting for, although it couldback fire, I stretched my hand behind me and threw it with my full power at the ghost Pokemon.

OOC: Spiritomb battle... coming to a close? Read on to find out ^^

Ashe's hands trembled as she passed the Park Ball from hand to hand, clearly agitated. She seemed to make her mind up and she threw the ball at the Spiritomb and closed her eyes. The ball shot forward at the Spiritomb as another gaseous hand formed. The hand caught the Pokeball and Spiritomb edged forward, examining it. It was all up to the Spiritomb now. Was Ashe a good battle? A good master? Did Spiritomb want to join her team?

Spiritomb slowly spun to face Dragonite and did something I never saw coming. It bowed slowly in response to their battle. It was clear Spiritomb thought of Ashe and Dragonite as worthy battlers. Spiritomb then turned and looked at Ashe, and smiled. That was the first time I had ever seen a Spiritomb smile. The ball opened up and Spiritomb was sucked inside. It wiggled once, twice, three times and...

Spiritomb did think Ashe was a worthy trainer.

I scooped up the ball and smiled at Ashe. "Congrats," I said, pocketing the ball.

I was honestly surprised when Spiritomb willingly got caught by me and even more surprised that he considered us strong oponents. I was really glad that it turned out this way because I was worried that Spiritomb wouldn't like to have me as its trainer. However, I wasn't as surprised when it smiled. It was really cute and I was truly happy that it accepted me as its trainer. I smiled back at it and watched as it was getting sucked into the ball. The ball wiggled about three times and then stopped. Jay came closer to it and picked it up. He looked at me with a smile. "Congrats," He said as he was putting the ball to his pockets.

I looked at my Dragonite that was sitting on the ground with her legs spread and her arms between them. She probably stayed the way she fell on ground when Spiritomb was caught. Her head was resting on her chest what made her look really tired. I truned to Jay and lookked at the ground. I felt really bad for asking this now, when he had so much trouble with taking me this far but I had to.

"Um... L-look, Jay, I-I feel really stupid for saying this. But... Uh... Well, I'd like to leave park now. You did a lot for us and I really appreciate it but I get a feeling that I wasn't properly prepared for this journey. I'm really sorry." I was still looking at ground as if I hoped that Jay wouldn't get angry if I didn't look at him.
